In what games have I worked on and in what games am I currently working?
Well, it all started with TwinderGarten, which was going to be a sort of visual novel with
turn-based combats and whose story was about two twin girls and their widowed father.
What happened with this game? That we committed the first rookie error, well, not the first
the second rookie error. The first rookie error is making a game
too ambitious and the second rookie error is to believe that your game is not too
ambitious when it is too ambitious. So, I thought I was making a
very very easy game, right? Because it being a visual novel and such
you do not have to control the characters, you put a character there and text comes out and they talk and
they move a little and such, turn-based fighting, super easy, right? Finished in 3 months and
then success, but no. The development extended for years and years, also, at that time
I did not know anything about video game programming, I was programming it with Nosgoroth, and he
did not have too much time to code, so, that, it was extended for years and years
until in the end it had to be canceled, well, "canceled" because we would like to
get back to it at some point, but that's it, the game's there on the bookshelf
indefinitely. Second game, and with this stuff got
serious, was Majotori, so Majotori is a narrative trivia game with questions centered on
audiovisuals, that is, videogames, cinema and animation, that is, geekery.
Majotori is a game that tells you a short story in which a witch appears and offers
a character to grant them a wish if they play and win a round of trivia question. So,
if they win, the story ends well, if you lose it ends badly, and then the story, most
of stories continue, there are several chapters that continue from where it ended, right? So
it has several ramifications. I did this game mostly because I did not know
how to code and I thought that the easiest thing to code was that, a game of trivia
or something, mixed with a bit of visual novel for the story and such because
it is simply showing a menu with 4 options and text on the screen, images on the screen
and that's it. So, that, although things complicated a bit more than expected, it was a good thing
and thanks to that I managed to finish the game. The game went through two phases, a shabby one, which
was the first one, it was the first game I had made, right? And I did not know very well
how the software and programming worked and all that, I did not have... well...
I wanted to keep it ... I did not want to fall into the mistakes of TwinderGarten so I wanted
keep it very simple and easy to make, so the game did not have animations, it was quite
poor visually, I released it for free and almost nobody downloaded it, so
then I decided to redo it whole with the experience that I already had and added animations,
made a more beautiful interface, a little more music, etc. And so, that was the second
version, which was released as a paid game and it has been successful to a certain extent.
Right now it has more than 96% positive reviews and you can get it in these stores.
Buy it.
The next game that I started making and that is still in development is pureya. Pureya
is a mini-game game made mostly for mobile and I started doing it because
I do not like mobile games. Virtually all mobile games
that I download last 5 minutes on my smartphone or even less, which is opening it, playing it
a bit, knowing that I will not want to play it ever again, closing it and uninstalling it. It happens
with practically all mobile games. So I decided to make a mobile game
that at least I wanted to play, so when I have nothing to do and I take out the phone to
entertain myself I have a game that I I want to play and with which I have a good time
and I do not get tired of it in 5 minutes and I want to uninstall it. So that is the goal behind pureya.
It was also supposed to be a quick development and yet it is
getting too long and I'll have to see what to do with it. But whatever
The second game. "Game" in quotation marks this time, that I released during the development of pureya
is the Majorariatto Museum, which is a virtual installation of our development team, which
by the way, I have not said it, it's called Majorariatto, and in this museum you can enter different
rooms of different games and see images and pictures and read information about the game
and such, it's interesting and it's free, it can be downloaded on itch.io.
This museum is also still under development and will continue to be so because as we keep
making games and stuff we will keep updating it to reflect the current
studio situation, right?
Apart from pureya and the Majorariatto Museum, we are developing two other games.
I know, 4 games at a time? You are retarded? But there are explanations... it happened
without planning, it should have been planned but... stuff, life is hard.
The first one of those games, I can not talk a lot about it, why? Because spoilers.
It's a game that we started making this summer because basically Kony felt bad for not having
ever made a game, right? And she felt a lot of syndrome... what's it called?
Imposter. Imposter syndrome, and more stuff, in general
lack of self-confidence, etc, etc, right? And then I said, well let's make
a game programmed by you, with part of the graphics made by you and that way you can feel
good and you can feel triumphant. So I designed a game that is, well, very, very short,
right? Basically, we calculate that it can last 10 or 15 minutes. And we were supposed to make
it that same month, finish it, launch it, and everyone happy, but what happened?
Life got in our way and the game stayed there halfway done, Kony's university
and such, university always gets in the way of your dreams, and in the end, there it is.
Right now we are working on it again. It's not going as fast as we would like,
but whatever. We don't want to reveal the title yet
and we can't show much because it lasts 15 minutes so if we show a lot, basically
we have shown... even if we only show a bit, we've already shown the whole game, right? But
we could simply call it "The dogs' game", and what it will be about, among other things
is about petting dogs. Petting? Will you be able to pet them? Well, or interacting with dogs
cute
And the last game is secret because, basically, fear that it will be stolen. And yes, yes yes, yes,
usually being afraid of your indie game being stolen is the stupidest thing in the world
because nobody cares, nobody is going to steal it, who do you think you are that your idea
it's so good that someone is going to steal it, blablablablabla, it's usually stupid,
but, in this particular case, when the game launches you'll probably understand, it's
too easy. If the game works there are going to be clones that same afternoon there will be 50
clones in the Google store. So, yeah. I am already afraid that someone will get ahead of me before I finish it,
so I do not want to mention it until it is. It's a game that I started making at the end
of 2017, very late, like on the 30th or the 31th, I finished practically the whole of it
in 3 days, but the thing is that there's still all the menus, all the settings... stuff,
which is the most boring thing to make and it gives me a lot of laziness, but I'm, that, pushing me to do it,
a little bit every day, it's lasting too much, way too much, but hey, I hope to have it...
get it finished soon and be able to release it and, maybe, become a millionaire.
And that's it, that's all, those are the main games in which I have worked and I am
working, there has also been some prototype of a couple of days
that has not gone further and that's it, buy Majotori, if you do not already have it. You
will like, probably. And like this video and subscribe to support me so I can continue
making videos and video games. Bye-bye!
