Earlier today it was revealed that the German USK rating system has refused the upcoming

Gal*Gun 2 for a rating, meaning an official German release will not be possible and placing

restrictions on the way the title is able to be sold and advertised in the country.

Censored Gaming has spoken to Western publishers PQube about the matter and has received the

following statement: "Today we have received word that Gal*Gun

2 has been refused classification in Germany.

We'll always try to get games through classification regardless of the possibility of it being

denied, as we feel that everyone should have the right and the access to play the games

they want to play.

It is our opinion that disliking the content in a piece of entertainment or art, and voicing

that dislike, is totally fine and even encouraged, but denying that work the right to exist in

a market based on personal opinions and prejudices, is something we strongly disagree with.

Unfortunately our appeal against this decision has been unsuccessful.

Given that Gal*Gun: Double Peace did receive classification in Germany, we're doubly disappointed

that we cannot bring the highly-anticipated title to our fans in Germany.

However, we will have to accept and respect the decision of the USK."

This statement confirms that not only did the title get refused, but PQube tried to

appeal this decision and was denied.

You may recall how last year's Senran Kagura: Peach Beach Splash had similar troubles in

Germany but Marvelous managed to get the game approved following several appeals.

Unfortunately though, for Gal*Gun 2, the game was still denied even following appealing.

This isn't the first time that Germany has refused a Japanese title in recent years for

its sexual content.

Both Criminal Girls 2 and Valkyrie Drive Bhikkhuni were also refused ratings, with the latter

also being brought to the West by PQube.

Furthermore, earlier this month yet another game from PQube, this being Omega Labyrinth

Z, was banned in Australia.

PQube has managed to confirm to us however that Australia has not banned Gal*Gun 2 and

has already received its rating, so Australians needn't worry.

However, this raises the question of whether Germany will refuse Omega Labyrinth Z for

a rating as well, as the Germany classification decision has not currently been revealed.

When this is known however and for all further matters relating to this and all other censorship-related

matters in gaming, you'll be able to find the details here on Censored Gaming as soon

as they are known.

Gal*Gun 2 is scheduled to be released for both PS4 and Nintendo Switch sometime this

spring.

EXPLORING INDONESIA'S WILDEST DESERT ISLANDS - SAILING FOLLOWTHEBOAT Ep94 - Duration: 20:26.

So we've finally left Sagu Dampar, or "Moonrock Bay", after I think probably our

longest stay in one place since Jemadja, when we first started our trip.

Truly special place. And as our new friend John, who we met in the anchorage,

said, it's the jewel in the crown of the Anambas islands from what we've seen so far.

So what we've done now is, we've now gone round the outside the eastern edge.

We put the drone up, had a bit fun and games with the drone, trying to get some

shots of Esper under sail.

So, this area there's a lot of reefs. That's the bottom end of a Moonrock Bay

there, that's where we were yesterday in the dinghy. And all around that area is

reef. And then all the islands on the southern part of this bay here are also

surrounded by reef as well. So we've decided to come around the back.

Visibility is a bit hazy today, and there's not much wind. There's a little

bit of wind at the top end of the island but not much.

This is a whole new aspect now we're going to be seeing of the Anambas islands.

We were on our way from one anchorage to the next, and then all this weather came in.

So we thought we better duck in somewhere, just get a bit of protection.

So we've come in here, and it is stunning. You've got high hills covered in forest all

the way around, jungle all the way around. And we can really hear the insects.

Beautiful. But we've also got fringing reef the whole way around. So we dropped the

anchor in 20 meters and we've got 50 metres of chain out, but we have ended up

quite close to the reef so we don't think we probably stay here. We'll see

how it goes. We'll let this weather pass, maybe have something to eat and then

perhaps move on to the next one!

After the crappy weather from yesterday, we made it into another lake-like

anchorage. And behind a glamorous Elizabeth, there's a guy doing what we

should be doing, which is trolling a line around this reef. Now we're in... this is a

kind of horseshoe shaped bay... another bay which reminds us a bit of Turkey.

These huge, high mountains, very green. And there's a fringing reef all the way around.

Through there is a spit of a half a foot of water. And on the other side is a resort,

which isn't a resort because they never finished it...

It's a pretty still and lovely morning here on Pulau Pendjaul, so I thought I would

take the kayak out, get into the shade and just see what's between Esper and the shore.

So far I'm seeing a lot of coral, much of which

is in pretty good condition. Some of it's died. But that coral stretches all the

way to shore.

I've a feeling that not too many people come here. It's been very quiet for the day

and a half that we've been here... So I made it to the beach area.

It's very clean, it's very quiet, there's nobody here.

I did see a monkey on the beach from the boat yesterday but it's not around at the moment.

Behind me, you can just see in the water here... that's a mangrove growing.

There aren't too many mangroves on the beach here... Right opposite, on the other side of

the harbour here, you can see a complete mangrove area, which is great!

Mangroves mean that the place is healthy, and - like most other environmentally interesting

things, of course - they're threatened. So whenever you see them live

and thriving, it's always good news!

Here's the coral, it's pretty clear here...

as you can see. And there's some pretty nice-looking coral, some happy looking

coral and some dead coral, which is what we've seen everywhere. But plenty of new

growth with those... at the very tips you'll see those little white

dots. That means the coral is growing happily away.

Lot's of small fish in there swimming between the coral as well.

It's lovely at this time of the day, it's

really nice. And also I haven't got the sun beating right down on me so I'm quite

enjoying that.

When you go into the shallows the coral doesn't look so

good. It is dying, it's covered in dust and whatnot, but as you come further out

where there's a drop-off, and where it's a little deeper, then you've got a lot of

really good healthy coral. Fish don't seem to mind one way or another

because they're everywhere! It's very pretty here. It's gonna be

interesting to get under the water. Also looking forward to having a good old

kayak right around the whole bay, going over to that little spot here, which

isn't quite a spit, but almost. And yeah, have a look later, see what more we can find!

This is the island of Pulau Pendjaul, I think it's called if my memory serves me correctly.

Looking back out down there is Esper at anchor.

And this little island here is one of the few islands where they

started building a resort. But presumably they ran out of money, because it's been

in this current state for a number of years now. You can see it quite clearly

on Google Earth. There's a couple of old buildings here which now look like

they're being occupied by someone, possibly a fisherman, since there's a

fishing boat just here. Washing is out. They have cultivated and planted a

couple of coconut palms on the beach... although there are many coconut palms

already... so there is some evidence of some kind of development, but not a lot.

Anyway, we just thought we'd come ashore because it is, once again, a rather

idyllic setting.

Got to be careful, lots of coconuts. Some are ripe, some are green.

So I suspect quite a few are falling each day. There's some ridiculous amount of

people who die each year with coconuts falling on their heads, so we have to

keep an eye for those. You see where Liz is standing over there, those are the

other coconut plants, which are smaller... and this rather splendid little beach here.

It's easy to see why somebody chose this spot for a resort, it's absolutely magnificent!

you've got this great stretch of white sand beach here, a spit, another beach,

lagoons on this side lagoons on this side, coral everywhere. And over there you've got

another really pretty island, with more white sand beaches. I mean... what..

What more could you ask for?

You sound speechless. I am! This is the one island that they've developed or at

least started to develop. And we can see that by this brick wall here. And they started

to build some kind of jetty. And that's pretty much as far as they got.

So I'd be interested to know what the story was here and whether they are

going to continue to develop it or not.

("Oh no... poor turtle... let him go. Let him go!")

What's going on here? There's a very young family here, they've taken up residence in

one of the old huts. And she's just reeled in this line, and at the end of it is a turtle...

...in a net. And I don't really know why.

So there's two houses up there. Yeah.

OK yeah, two... Yeah.

And we can walk up here?

And this is your house?

And you are "mancing" [fishing]? Yes. Mancing, yeah. And this is your boat...

Yes, our boat is just there.

Okay, well I didn't quite get all of that...

But from what I could make out he was saying that there are either two

or three families here and of course he's a fisherman and that's his fishing

boat down there. He was also explaining that there are a couple more houses up

here, and these are the ones that I've seen on Google Earth. I don't know if

anyone actually lives in them. Why would you want to live up here, when

you've got that beautiful beach to live by?

Just walking up these... see we've

got concrete steps here, which is quite unusual for any of these

islands that aren't inhabited.

and over the other side this is the view that every

yachtsman and woman wants to see... is their boat, at anchor, on its own, in a

turquoise bay, surrounded by palm trees and coral...

Our friend, the fisherman, has directed us up the hill. I remember looking at this

on Google Earth. It is part of, or was probably part of, the development.

Somewhere at the top there are some more buildings. And it's a good thing that Liz

and I doing this, because the other islands we visited we've cheated with

the drone. We can just send the drone up to get these birds-eye views. But it's a

good bit of exercise this, especially on the legs which apart from swimming don't

get much exercise. So it's a nice workout. But, of course, typically like "Mad Dogs

and the Englishmen" that we are, it is midday. And it is rather hot.

Well, we found the houses at the top of the hill. They actually have glass in them.

It's definitely evidence of still some kind of development. Lots of bats flying

around above us... making the most of the dark and the cool... (laughs)

The bats came down really, really low, and we ducked. And I was following you and I said "I hope you've

got that on camera," and as I said that a bat came past and hit me on the head!

And that has never happened before. (Laughs). I'm not scared of bats...

but I don't really want to have one hitting my head.

I'm here with Zia, who was absolutely fascinated by the drone. We've just been up to the top, we've

looked at the brickwork that's going on up there, and it's quite an achievement I

have to say, considering the fact that they have no roads, it's just a dirt

track. And down here at base camp, we have loads and loads of bricks. And she's just

explained - and I think I'm correct in saying - that she and probably her friend

are the ones who are building. They're actually building the work up there, so

they are taking these bricks by hand to continue working there. We

thought that it was a project that had stopped, run out of money, but it looks

like they are still developing it. Whether it's for these guys, or whether

it's for a resort, we don't know.

For me, the most interesting aspects are,

first, the capacity of each individual to speak for themselves,

when there was a control by a small group of people.

Another aspect is that

I believe today we have more transparency,

or at least the desire for transparency,

in relation to the governments, to the big companies, from the citizens,

and also we have the technical means to have this transparency.

Finally, we have a greater capacity

of collectively debate the more important problems

and to decide about important issues of political life

in our countries, our cities, and so on.

For me, these are the three most important aspects

of virtual democracy. As you can see,

it's not the electronic vote, it's not direct democracy.

and no the fruit candy and the plastic fruits are not valid for this challenge...

so here we are at the Lawson 100yen store

I showed you another 100yen store but this one is different

because here they sell only food

here we have 100yen bananas

100yen onions, they are not so nice wrapped up...

you get 2 lemons for 100yen,

100yen grapefruit,

100yen cucumber,

also apple for 100yen? - ah no they cost 300yen, sometimes they change the price

here we have some chips with different flavours (the purple potato of Kyushu)

then here we have the bread

I show you the most disgusting one in the world

this is a very disgusting one!

bread with inside Yakisoba, I don't even wish it to my worst enemy

but the japanese children love this bread!

These sandwiches, I never took the risk to buy them

but maybe with these I will be able to do the bear form sandwiches

these are basically some New Year decorations, for your house!

they have mango and normal flavour

if you want to stay healthy, then this is not the right place to come

but it's perfect if you have sudden hunger

these are like the things that I took for the snowman that I made

as you can see there are a lot of things!

I decided to take these socks from all of the things that are here exposed

obviously 100yen

then here we have different types of coffee, on the top the coffee is very hot! if you touch them you will get burn

and these are cold coffee

so if you want to buy the ramen here

afterwards you can come here and heat it up with some hot water

you only need to push here and the water comes,

and as you can see, here we have other types of ramen

So, I hope you enjoyed this visit at the Lawson 100yen store

see? in Japan you can also find fruit that cost less,

so, these immediatly disappeared

one apple cost 1€

I don't know if it's to much or not

these potatoes cost also 1€ for this bag

a bit less than 1€ - 80 cents

then we have radishes, and these carrots that cost also 100yen.

EXPLORING INDONESIA'S WILDEST DESERT ISLANDS - SAILING FOLLOWTHEBOAT Ep94 - Duration: 20:26.

So we've finally left Sagu Dampar, or "Moonrock Bay", after I think probably our

longest stay in one place since Jemadja, when we first started our trip.

Truly special place. And as our new friend John, who we met in the anchorage,

said, it's the jewel in the crown of the Anambas islands from what we've seen so far.

So what we've done now is, we've now gone round the outside the eastern edge.

We put the drone up, had a bit fun and games with the drone, trying to get some

shots of Esper under sail.

So, this area there's a lot of reefs. That's the bottom end of a Moonrock Bay

there, that's where we were yesterday in the dinghy. And all around that area is

reef. And then all the islands on the southern part of this bay here are also

surrounded by reef as well. So we've decided to come around the back.

Visibility is a bit hazy today, and there's not much wind. There's a little

bit of wind at the top end of the island but not much.

This is a whole new aspect now we're going to be seeing of the Anambas islands.

We were on our way from one anchorage to the next, and then all this weather came in.

So we thought we better duck in somewhere, just get a bit of protection.

So we've come in here, and it is stunning. You've got high hills covered in forest all

the way around, jungle all the way around. And we can really hear the insects.

Beautiful. But we've also got fringing reef the whole way around. So we dropped the

anchor in 20 meters and we've got 50 metres of chain out, but we have ended up

quite close to the reef so we don't think we probably stay here. We'll see

how it goes. We'll let this weather pass, maybe have something to eat and then

perhaps move on to the next one!

After the crappy weather from yesterday, we made it into another lake-like

anchorage. And behind a glamorous Elizabeth, there's a guy doing what we

should be doing, which is trolling a line around this reef. Now we're in... this is a

kind of horseshoe shaped bay... another bay which reminds us a bit of Turkey.

These huge, high mountains, very green. And there's a fringing reef all the way around.

Through there is a spit of a half a foot of water. And on the other side is a resort,

which isn't a resort because they never finished it...

It's a pretty still and lovely morning here on Pulau Pendjaul, so I thought I would

take the kayak out, get into the shade and just see what's between Esper and the shore.

So far I'm seeing a lot of coral, much of which

is in pretty good condition. Some of it's died. But that coral stretches all the

way to shore.

I've a feeling that not too many people come here. It's been very quiet for the day

and a half that we've been here... So I made it to the beach area.

It's very clean, it's very quiet, there's nobody here.

I did see a monkey on the beach from the boat yesterday but it's not around at the moment.

Behind me, you can just see in the water here... that's a mangrove growing.

There aren't too many mangroves on the beach here... Right opposite, on the other side of

the harbour here, you can see a complete mangrove area, which is great!

Mangroves mean that the place is healthy, and - like most other environmentally interesting

things, of course - they're threatened. So whenever you see them live

and thriving, it's always good news!

Here's the coral, it's pretty clear here...

as you can see. And there's some pretty nice-looking coral, some happy looking

coral and some dead coral, which is what we've seen everywhere. But plenty of new

growth with those... at the very tips you'll see those little white

dots. That means the coral is growing happily away.

Lot's of small fish in there swimming between the coral as well.

It's lovely at this time of the day, it's

really nice. And also I haven't got the sun beating right down on me so I'm quite

enjoying that.

When you go into the shallows the coral doesn't look so

good. It is dying, it's covered in dust and whatnot, but as you come further out

where there's a drop-off, and where it's a little deeper, then you've got a lot of

really good healthy coral. Fish don't seem to mind one way or another

because they're everywhere! It's very pretty here. It's gonna be

interesting to get under the water. Also looking forward to having a good old

kayak right around the whole bay, going over to that little spot here, which

isn't quite a spit, but almost. And yeah, have a look later, see what more we can find!

This is the island of Pulau Pendjaul, I think it's called if my memory serves me correctly.

Looking back out down there is Esper at anchor.

And this little island here is one of the few islands where they

started building a resort. But presumably they ran out of money, because it's been

in this current state for a number of years now. You can see it quite clearly

on Google Earth. There's a couple of old buildings here which now look like

they're being occupied by someone, possibly a fisherman, since there's a

fishing boat just here. Washing is out. They have cultivated and planted a

couple of coconut palms on the beach... although there are many coconut palms

already... so there is some evidence of some kind of development, but not a lot.

Anyway, we just thought we'd come ashore because it is, once again, a rather

idyllic setting.

Got to be careful, lots of coconuts. Some are ripe, some are green.

So I suspect quite a few are falling each day. There's some ridiculous amount of

people who die each year with coconuts falling on their heads, so we have to

keep an eye for those. You see where Liz is standing over there, those are the

other coconut plants, which are smaller... and this rather splendid little beach here.

It's easy to see why somebody chose this spot for a resort, it's absolutely magnificent!

you've got this great stretch of white sand beach here, a spit, another beach,

lagoons on this side lagoons on this side, coral everywhere. And over there you've got

another really pretty island, with more white sand beaches. I mean... what..

What more could you ask for?

You sound speechless. I am! This is the one island that they've developed or at

least started to develop. And we can see that by this brick wall here. And they started

to build some kind of jetty. And that's pretty much as far as they got.

So I'd be interested to know what the story was here and whether they are

going to continue to develop it or not.

What's going on here? There's a very young family here, they've taken up residence in

one of the old huts. And she's just reeled in this line, and at the end of it is a turtle...

...in a net. And I don't really know why.

So there's two houses up there. Yeah.

OK yeah, two... Yeah.

And we can walk up here?

And you are "mancing" [fishing]? Yes. Mancing, yeah. And this is your boat...

Yes, our boat is just there.

Okay, well I didn't quite get all of that...

But from what I could make out he was saying that there are either two

or three families here and of course he's a fisherman and that's his fishing

boat down there. He was also explaining that there are a couple more houses up

here, and these are the ones that I've seen on Google Earth. I don't know if

anyone actually lives in them. Why would you want to live up here, when

you've got that beautiful beach to live by?

Just walking up these... see we've

got concrete steps here, which is quite unusual for any of these

islands that aren't inhabited.

and over the other side this is the view that every

yachtsman and woman wants to see... is their boat, at anchor, on its own, in a

turquoise bay, surrounded by palm trees and coral...

Our friend, the fisherman, has directed us up the hill. I remember looking at this

on Google Earth. It is part of, or was probably part of, the development.

Somewhere at the top there are some more buildings. And it's a good thing that Liz

and I doing this, because the other islands we visited we've cheated with

the drone. We can just send the drone up to get these birds-eye views. But it's a

good bit of exercise this, especially on the legs which apart from swimming don't

get much exercise. So it's a nice workout. But, of course, typically like "Mad Dogs

and the Englishmen" that we are, it is midday. And it is rather hot.

Well, we found the houses at the top of the hill. They actually have glass in them.

It's definitely evidence of still some kind of development. Lots of bats flying

around above us... making the most of the dark and the cool... (laughs)

The bats came down really, really low, and we ducked. And I was following you and I said "I hope you've

got that on camera," and as I said that a bat came past and hit me on the head!

And that has never happened before. (Laughs). I'm not scared of bats...

but I don't really want to have one hitting my head.

I'm here with Zia, who was absolutely fascinated by the drone. We've just been up to the top, we've

looked at the brickwork that's going on up there, and it's quite an achievement I

have to say, considering the fact that they have no roads, it's just a dirt

track. And down here at base camp, we have loads and loads of bricks. And she's just

explained - and I think I'm correct in saying - that she and probably her friend

are the ones who are building. They're actually building the work up there, so

they are taking these bricks by hand to continue working there. We

thought that it was a project that had stopped, run out of money, but it looks

like they are still developing it. Whether it's for these guys, or whether

it's for a resort, we don't know.

We often hear stories about quiet people.

There is always someone like that in our circle, be it in class, organization, community, forum,

or anything.

Quiet people are around eyes, but we don't really know about them.

To take you into different perspective, quiet people are always in disadvantageous position

because they are frequently humiliated verbally and sometimes physically.

People who see them don't think they do any good to society.

They are weird people who don't want to go to parties.

They are also people who won't talk to others.

They are rude, and they will be ignored.

Such stereotypes are pretty common, and there are still many other things that people assume.

However, they never understand that quiet people actually are not always like that.

Here is several things that people usually don't understand about quiet people.

#1 - They are actually nice people

Quiet people are indeed mysterious.

They don't talk as intensely as other people do.

Quiet people also try to find other places to keep them away from others, making them

even more mysterious.

Unfortunately, what they do make others feel uncomfortable.

They are like bad people who plan something nasty.

They are fishy people who probably want to do something bad.

However, quiet people just need their time alone with no distraction.

#2 - They hate you

Quiet people don't hate you.

Why do you feel being hated anyway if you never do anything bad to them?

This misconception is unfortunately always around quiet people, and they actually suffer

from it.

They are judged for being bad and full of hatred.

In fact, quiet people absolutely have nothing to hate you unless you are complete jerk.

#3 - They are miserable people

Quiet people are different from loners.

They are also different from shy people.

Loners and shy people are quiet miserable because they are forced by condition to feel

that way.

However, quiet people choose to be quiet because they don't want to bother other people.

If you see quiet people with their pale faces, you probably haven't done anything wrong.

It is just because they are thinking.

Sometimes, they are also recalling past events that probably unpleasant in the process.

However, there is nothing to do with their current life.

Most of the time, they enjoy their lives now, and they just prefer quiet environment instead

of the busy one.

#4 - Talking is easy

Yes, for you it is probably easy.

You even try to convince that saying something is easier because your fellow introverted

friends can say more things.

This is where people usually fail to understand.

For quiet people, talking is not easy, and that's because they are not used to do so.

Moreover, talking to others require energy just like introverts do, and it makes them

socially exhausted.

Instead of experiencing unpleasant things, they prefer to shut instead.

They think a lot, and they always think before responding or answering questions.

PC Doesn't Mean You Can't Speak Up - Duration: 2:27.

I do believe that a backlash to political correctness from the Left, to progressive notions

of offensive speech and identity politics played a not-insignificant

role in Trump's election.

I do want to note, though, that—I think this term political correctness is

'decreasingly useless.'

I prefer to talk about political phobias because I think we're now seeing real phobias about

hearing certain words uttered or even quoted in any context, about hearing disagreeable

ideas, just hearing these ideas, hearing these words is considered traumatic.

Expressing them might be considered an "act of violence."

So, as I say: I prefer to talk about political phobias and language phobias.

I think that's what we're dealing with now, but I'll use the term political correctness

simply because it's the one that we are all familiar with.

Now I do think, though, I just wanna add one more, a couple more, points that when people

complain about being censored by political correctness, or when they talk about being

self-censored, I think that we should ask whether or not they are abdicating their own

responsibility to speak up, instead of quietly submitting to the loudest voices

or to whatever they consider the majority view.

I think we should consider whether P.C. and a backlash to P.C. is, in some ways, being

scapegoated for individual timidity, and I think we should also consider that while Trump

made his attack on political correctness it was central to his campaign, probably resonated

with a lot of people who also felt sick and tired of this "politically correct crap."

But I think we should ask: What were they tired of not being able to say?

What was it that they felt constrained to say?

At the end of the day, I think it might be difficult to separate progressive notions

of offensive speech and the backlash to that, that I think contributed to Trump's election,

from the white identity politics that also fueled it.

Catherine adds missing names to London's war memorials - Londoner #272 - Duration: 3:43.

My father's name didn't appear on East Barnet village war memorial.

Initially I approached the local borough of Barnet. They were quite positive in their

response but said I had to prove to them that he was a war hero; the difficulty

was the MOD didn't seem to have an awful lot of information that they could

give me.

So my husband and I decided we would find out ourselves.

The fact that he was killed while on a Norwegian oil tanker made it even more difficult but

we went to Norway and they had a full report of the sinking of his oil tanker.

The borough of Barnet did agree to put his name on the war memorial and there

was a large ceremony in 1995, many of my family that was still left came and

the local councils came and one of them said to me: "Why is your father the

only one named on the second World War plaque? Was he the only one from this

village to be killed during the Second World War?" Of course I said this was

nonsense and there must be many more. So it was only then that I started

researching the names of those killed from the village during the Second World War.

I spent hours and days going through microfiche documents of the local press

from 1939 to 1944 picking out names from the obituary columns...

...I went to schools and looked at their rolls of honours...

...I went to churches...

When I had completed the list there are 46 names.

We had a rededication service.

It was a multi-faith service.

It was a wonderful feeling of achievement,

something I had done for my father.

After this time, some people from New Barnet approached me

and said: "Will you do the same for New Barnet?

Because none of our Second World War dead names appear on the war memorial"

This time I found 136 names.

I then decided that that was enough, I couldn't go on to do anymore.

However, one lady was so delighted

that she had seen her brother's name on East Barnet village before she died and in

her will she left £100 for me to start my next project.

So I couldn't stop at New Barnet I had to carry on.

Well, my next project is the

most challenging of all; it is for Finchley.

It is our intention that this

war memorial will be built and in place in the grounds of Finchley Memorial

Hospital for an unveiling on the 11th of November 2018 which will mark

100 years since the end of the Great War

These men gave their all. They gave everything for their country, these were

young men so the least they deserve is to be remembered on a memorial.

Korean gov't to further develop chip, display industries - Duration: 1:58.

The Korean government announced plan to further boost the country's semiconductor and display

industries.

It involves close cooperation with the private sector as well as greater investment.

Kim Hyesung introduces to us the new measure.

It's called the 'Gap 5 Strategy.'

The Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy announced its plan to maintain its five-year

lead in the semiconductor and display industries against followers like China through new technology

development.

For chips, the plan is to raise efficiency and speed by a thousand-fold...through research

into new materials that exceed nano-level processing technology.

In the display sector, the ministry plans to develop flexible panels with more than

20 percent pliability.

The goal is to create new markets, double Korea's market share in system chips from

the current three percentage range to six percent by 2022 and triple OLED exports to

over 25 billion U.S. dollars in five years.

While Korea leads the world in chip and display exports, it still imports a considerable amount

of equipment and materials from countries like the U.S. and Japan.

The second part of the 'Gap 5 Strategy' aims to narrow this gap against Korea's competitors

in equipment and materials in less than five years through localization.

The ministry said it will invest 2 trillion won, or 1.8 billion U.S. dollars to small

and mid-sized firms over the course of five years and raise the level of localization.

The government also signed MOUs with Korean conglomerates like Samsung Electronics, SK

Hynix and LG Display on Thursday, in which the companies will invest up to 74 billion

dollars to nurture talent, and invest and create new jobs in semiconductors and chips.

A huge plan with ambitious goals, the ministry said it will fine tune the specific details

so it can launch the project by this year.

Who should be taking a statin? - Duration: 1:36.

There's been a lot of controversy about statins which is gathering more and more pace.

And the published literature on randomized controlled trials tells us

that people that truly benefit in terms of preventing or delaying death

is people with established heart disease.

However when you look at the statistics cited differently...

So for example if you've had a heart attack or established heart disease,

taking a statin every day for five years, there's a 1:83 chance it will delay your death

and about 1:39 or 1:40 chance it will prevent a further heart attack.

There is another way of looking at the statistics as well

which was published in the BMJ Open

and what they found was in people with established heart disease

a so-called high risk.

The average increase in life expectancy,

the immediate increase in life expectancy for that group of people,

based upon industry sponsored randomized controlled trials...

So this is the best case scenario, people who are able to tolerate statins,

that's something we need to remember...

That's the case if the industry is completely honest with their data and everything.

and these people in the trial are able to tolerate the statins every day for five years

and a lot of people aren't able to,

in those people the immediate increase in life expectancy over five years

taking a statin every day was four and a half days.

On top of all that, I'm blind.

- Yes, I have one retina,

but I don't have any optic nerves,

so even if they could fix one eye,

I don't, there's nothing in my brain, there's no messages.

- Yes, my first appearance was for a video called

- Have you ever saw a color of a blueberry?

- I've never seen anything, ever.

Which I was called about, out of the blue,

because I think I was just found on the internet

as someone who was blind and it was weird because

I'm usually called for musical things

and this had nothing to do with music, so I'm like

okay, let's try this out, let's see what happens

and ended up being one of the best things I've ever done.

- Green is water, green makes me feel like a zombie.

- My favorite part?

There was one kid that stood out,

who only had one moment and it was one of the older boys

and he said yellow is that kid that's like that

really good kid that just can't sit still.

- Like (muddled words) how are you doing that?

- It was the most relatable thing

in the entire video I'm like, I was yellow.

And then, my other favorite thing,

at the time was the most annoying thing,

but then I loved it so much later, was

my favorite color is dark orange because it's so dark.

- My favorite color is dark orange

- Dark orange?

- Because it's so dark.

- It was the last interview, I was dead tired

and I heard that, I'm like going

what does that even mean?

And then later I looked back on it and going

okay this is actually really funny. (laughs)

Now I can't not think about orange

and think dark orange because it's so dark.

- Well I had to describe several different things

from a blind person's point of view,

like beauty, fears, racism, annoying questions

and some of those topics, I was like, very prepared for,

because I've been talking about them before,

but others caught me off guard, I wasn't ready.

- (sighs)

I think describing beauty was hard, because

I was thinking of describing beauty, as in

like the sound of rain, when falling asleep,

or of walking out into the sunshine,

rather than physical attraction, which is

a form of beauty, but it's only one form of beauty.

There might be times where I might give someone a hug

and be like, that feels like she might have a nice figure

but I'm not going to, like, feel her up.

I think I struggled with that.

- Uh, yes.

I got my first recognition in person

from Kids Describe Color in a

Mexican restaurant, actually in Leavenworth.

Some young lady was like, I know you,

well I don't know you, but you were on

Kids Describe Color to a Blind Person.

I'm like, yes that happened,

that was me, I was the blind person.

- Um, not, I mean I have fans,

but they're not annoying.

Most of them know I'm married,

so most of them are respectful.

- Okay, this is my wife Hailey Potts.

Hi sweetie.

- Hi.

Yeah, he's mine.

- (laughs) I just find it funny.

Back off my man. (laughs)

I can't say that with a straight face.

- No, definitely not, it's super fun.

And also kind of just opened my mind to some

First event of PyeongChang 2018 starts with mixed doubles curling - Duration: 3:07.

Pyeongchang and the sub-host city of Gangneung are charged up with the enthusiasm and intensity

of athletes the world over.

Even though it's tomorrow when the curtain rises with the opening ceremony for this century's

first Olympics in Korea... the qualifiers for a number of events have already begun.

To get into the thick of the action, we connect to our Lee Ji-won, at the Gangneung Curling

Centre.

Ji-won do fill us in on the early bird competitions that are already heating up.

Hi Daniel, the first actual competition at the 2018 PyeongChang Winter Olympics started

this morning,... with four round robin preliminaries of the mixed doubles curling.

Over the next four days, eight countries will compete to qualify for the medal round.

And the second rounds of the prelimiaries just started at 8 p.m.

South Korea is taking on China,... and we'll find out the results shortly after 9.30.

As for the morning game, Team Korea grabbed its first win against Finland,... along with

the U.S., Norway, and Switzerland.

But mixed doubles in curling is new at the Olympics this year, so we're still unsure

who's likely to be standing on the medal podium in the coming days.

There's also ski jumping starting in about an hour and a half.

Qualification for the men's individual normal hill will be held at the Alpensia Ski Jumping

Centre in PyeongChang.

We've been experiencing a bone-chilling cold snap in recent days.

The mercury must've dipped even further down in the mountains.

But the venues are heating up with excitement.

... Plus, we have some welcome news for spectators of outdoor events.

Daniel, it was freezing cold earlier this week,... and it's still quite cold now that

the sun is down,... but starting yesterday the temperature has improved a lot.... thankfully.

And despite today being a weekday,... a lot of people came to watch the games and cheer

for their teams.

I was able to talk to some of the spectators, let's have a look.

"Curling isn't a game you see often, so I thought it'd be a great chance to watch it

in person.

Also, it's the first event of the long-awaited PyeongChang Olympics.

Watching it was thrilling and it made me feel that the Olympics have really started."

"It was really cool to watch the athletes compete We were really happy that we won the

first match.

I don't know much about curling, but it was really intense and the atmosphere was really

great so I had a lot of fun."

The Olympic buzz is felt not just here in the Gangneung Curling Centre, but in the Pyeongchang

and Gangneung Olympic Villages as well, as the last rounds of team welcome ceremonies

for athletes were held,... including those for North Korea, Greece and Sweden.

The Olympic torch relay also pumped up the atmosphere,... as it lit up its second last

destination, Gangneung today.

The torch was taken around different parts of the city and its major tourist attractions,

before it's finally brought to Pyeongchang and the Olympic Plaza for Friday's opening

ceremony.
