This is my story.
When I was in high school,
I never smoked or drank.
At that time, I wasn't interested in it
because my mother was an alcoholic
and I saw the harm that it caused her
and to the people around her.
My mother even drank during her pregnancy,
which caused my twin brothers to be born prematurely
and with heart complications.
I was 13 years old
but, I knew that drinking during pregnancy was bad.
I felt helpless as a kid
because I knew that it was bad
but, I could never say anything to my mother.
My brothers ended up having heart surgery
but sadly, one passed away.
It's something that you can never forget about.
It was because of this incident
that I managed to avoid alcohol and drugs
until college came along.
I started to drink and smoke in college
because suddenly, the use of alcohol and drugs
was a norm.
It's true when they say that your environment shapes.
At first, I was discreet about my use of drugs
but, the more I used, the more comfortable I became
with using it openly.
Alcohol and marijuana helped me cope with
negative feeling that I thought I couldn't deal with
unless I was using drugs.
I began to understand why so many people used drugs.
It was an escape from reality
even if it was for a few hours.
I got too comfortable one day and
I smoked somewhere where I shouldn't have
and
the police got involved.
I put my education at risk.
I put my future at risk.
It was then that I decided that all this partying, drinking,
and smoking were not worth it.
I thought about how disappointed the people that had
supported my throughout the years
would be with me if I could no longer
go to school because I chose to get high.
I'm glad that I was given a second chance.
This is based on a true story.

have to implement austerity plans that threaten �social cohesion�.
In case you are wondering what happens when �social cohesion� starts to break down
due to economic factors, just check out the recent examples in Iceland and Greece.
If even Moody�s is warning that there is a realistic possibility that �social cohesion�
in the United States may break down due to economic factors, perhaps we should all start

purchased our debt.
If our creditors were to all come and ask for their money at one time there would be
less than $1 dollar for every $1000 dollars owed.

Today, most Americans are weak, spoiled little children who will throw a temper tantrum whenever
anyone tries to take their toys away.
The character of the American people has been decaying for decades, and there is no way
that the current crop of Americans has any chance of weathering a horrible economic depression
the way Americans back in the 1930s did.
Already we are seeing early signs of what the rest of America could soon be like.
The city of Detroit is a rotting, crime-ridden war zone that has a �real� unemployment
rate of somewhere around 40 to 50 percent.
The state of California has become a cesspool of gang violence, rampant unemployment, rising
foreclosures, unchecked drug dealing, and depressing economic decline.
Even in New York City we are seeing early signs of what is ahead.
Residents are quite alarmed about the dramatic rise in violent crime that is happening throughout
the city.
Many New Yorkers were convinced that the days of �The Rotten Apple� were behind them,
but economic problems are going to cause an increase in crime in just about any city.
But it just isn�t crime that is on the rise.
Millions of normal, law-abiding Americans are angry.
This anger is coming out in various ways � including the Tea Party protests that are sweeping the
nation.
The majority of the American people are frankly disgusted with the government, and the approval
ratings for both major parties continue to hover around record lows.
As things continue to get worse for the U.S. economy, the anger of the American people
is going to continue to rise.
All of this is causing many in the U.S. government to view �troublemakers� inside the United
States as one of the greatest threats to national security.
For a top U.S. government official to come right out and make a statement like that is
absolutely mind blowing.
The reality is that as �necessary� as bills like that may seem to many as we edge
ever closer to the breakdown of society, the reality is that the United States is quickly
becoming just like so many of the other horrific totalitarian regimes that we have seen rise
throughout the 20th and 21st centuries.
In fact a time may soon be coming when authorities in the U.S. may soon be able to legally utter
this bone chilling phrase: �Your Papers Please!� Lawmakers in Washington D.C. working
to create a new immigration �reform� bill have decided on a way to prevent employers
from hiring illegal immigrants: a national biometric identification card that all American
workers would be required to obtain.
Can you imagine being forced to carry around a national identification card?
Or worse?
A startup company developing �chipless RFID ink� has already tested its product on cattle
and laboratory rats.
Could one day we all be required to sport an �RFID tatoo� to prove our identity
to authorities?
Let�s hope not.
But many of us never thought that the day would come when we would see things such as

Things are drying up
...laying everything out.

(Wet and Cold, I arrived here to Leo Carillo State Park)

(Insane wind!)
My plan for the day was to cycle from Malibu all the way to Santa Barbara
But the winds that day were just
not in my favor. I couldn't even pedal fast enough or even at a normal pace.
The wind is going this way
I got to go that way.
I was going down this giant hill
I had to pedal down! Because I couldn't even go down without slowing down.
Downhill!
That's how much the wind was stopping me.
You can't really see it but
The wind and the waves are going this way. I got to go that way.

Well, that took more than I thought.
But I made it to Ventura. Leaving Malibu was tough.
I love saying Malibu
Malibu...
It's such a soothing word *laughs*
Here I was at Missile Park, I was able to enjoy a delicious apple.
I thought I was done riding against the wind but
I had another 5 more miles of just riding on this long stretch that went all the way to the horizon.
and then I had another 10 more miles until I arrived into my next checkpoint which is
San Buenaventura State Beach
And right there, as I was arriving into the state beach, it was already getting dark
and I had a miracle happen to me.
I would say it was a miracle.
I got a ride!
*laughs*
At this point, the sun was already setting
And it was clear that I needed to find a place to stealth camp
I needed to find it before it got dark.

During my bike tour up to Santa Barbara, I consider myself very lucky!
I got the help from Law Enforcement two times
Some that actually escorted me out of a military base
And on this night, this man
He saved me my short and young life
from highway chaos
i'll explain it in a little bit after this annoying GoPro footage
I am right here in Ventura
i am on... near the
San Buenaventura State Beach
and
Im gonna be waiting here
Their was a ranger patrol who was actually, he was basically just
He was
He saw me coming in. He's shutting everything down.
He's doing his job like
shutting down the restrooms
and he's taking care of the park and he's closing it down.
Ranger Operations. He's having me hang out here for an hour.
and... He's... I mean
Since I do have another 20 miles to go up to Santa Barbara
He said he can give me a lift in his car
"Are you allowed to be on video?"
"Nah, don't put me on" *laughs*
(If I didn't encounter this Trooper, my 30 Miles into the night, with no lights, would have been tough & dangerous.)
He's heading all the way here to Carpinteria
and we're way over here
so I mean
It's better than nothing, I'll be able to camp right here

And then tomorrow, as opposed to riding at night like I wanted to
I really wanted to
but it's dangerous
to the point were a State Ranger just saw me touring, knowing well I was about to enter into the 101
the Pacific Coast Highway
I was gonna do it. I was on my way.
and then, the Ranger had me stop by
He asked me were I was heading, I said Santa Barbara
I think he thought I was going to go to Carpinteria were he's heading
But he said he'd give me a lift to Carpinteria
He saved me a lot of time.
a lot of time because in a hour, I can probably just do 10 miles
6 miles, 5 miles with all this wind
In the darkness.
Cause my head light
is done.
With the rain, My headlight is... it doesn't work any more
I was just gonna ride in the dark and
ride on the
I was going to see the path based on the path of the headlights just flashing
We'll have a talk
You know I couldn't say No
How often do you get a ride from a
California State Ranger right?
It's sunset
I'm gonna fly the drone
cool for a while
and get a ride.
You already know a little bit from the video you just saw.
But I want to share why I was lucky that night. Cause I was lucky on two occasions.
One is simply saving myself, around two hours of pedaling in the complete darkness.
and being able to put my bike and gear in the back of his car.
And have a 20 minute ride with a State Trooper. And he was telling me a story
That just a couple of minutes before I was about to go on the freeway
and this is were I got lucky!
*chuckles*
Because, he actually told me that he literally came back from taking a call
Getting on a call I guess as cops say.
He actually just got back from the highway
Cause their was Four
Horses!
Full grown horses. He told that at least, one of them, all of them Weighed around 2,000 pounds.
and
It was gonna be a mess. The way he emphasized it.
I mean clearly, thats a, thats a big. Thats Chaos!
You know, its a freeway! And then theirs four horses that just go running by. And they each weigh 2,000 pounds
It's gonna be like
hitting a wall!
4 cars
are gonna be slamming in
you know it was gonna be a mess! With cars going everywhere. And horses splattering.
and
a 19 year old kid, pedaling on the side of the highway. Like,
That's not good
So he gave me ride
and
It saved me a lot of time.
I was gonna get to
Santa Barbara
By you know I was guessing midnight.
That that was ball park.
and he gave me a ride to Carpinteria so, I still had around
an Hour and Thirty, and Hour and Forty Five minutes, the next day.
Cause he took me to a state beach, where it was a lot safer. He told me that that area was not good. Even his giggle and his laugh talking about the current
location where he found me
And I could tell, it wasn't a good location.
I was kind of getting worried on were I was gonna stealth camp.
Don't want to say its a bad neighborhood. But it's not the best.
And then he took me to Carpinteria were it, it kind of reminded me of Carlsbad.
It's very nice, very safe.
The camping situation was amazing.
I woke up the next day and I still had another, you know, 1 to 2 hours
To bike up to Santa Barbara and
it was beautiful!
