The Reality Behind the Nintendo Switch's Poor Launch - From the Consumer's Perspective - Duration: 8:22.

The Switch is currently out in less than two weeks and it's not exactly in the greatest

of shape, or at least not from a general consumer standpoint.

In fact, it's likely that only the most hardcore of gamers, those looking to buy the

new Zelda, and Nintendo fans will be picking it up early on with few exceptions.

Most will either wait for new software and features to drop, or the system finds itself

being bundled with a game or receives a price drop, most of which don't seem likely to

occur till the holiday season or early next year when the software is substantial enough

to support the console, which begs the question of why the system is launching as it is right

now when it seems like the system wasn't quite ready and I think the answer is a bit

more obvious than some would assume.

A March 3rd launch isn't just a move to avoid competition with the release of both

the PS4 Pro and Scorpio, but it falls right in the middle of the earliest moments of Spring

Break, and I think the reason behind that choice is a similar occurrence in Japan two

months later with Golden Week, a similar weeklong holiday where sales take a small, but noticeable,

rise that Japanese developers sometimes target with new releases, and that might seem odd

given the Switch's release, but considering Mario Kart 8 Deluxe is set to release the

exact day before Golden Week starts, it's not out of the question, and parallels the

system's Spring Break launch, it seems Nintendo is hoping to attract younger players hoping

to fill out their week with new titles.

But core Nintendo fans are nowhere near enough to support a platform, and it appears the

West is relying primarily on Zelda, which they've been marketing heavily since E3

2016, in favor of supporting the system domestically in Japan where handhelds are more popular

as it has a notably more content rich launch whereas that content is spread out across

the year in the West.

That difference in availability could be chalked up to QA and localization, especially for

Dragon Quest Heroes, it's likely that since Zelda isn't nearly as popular in Japan as

it is in the West, it's less competition for 3rd party publishers.

Whereas in the West a majority of those titles are coming out shortly after Breath of the

Wild's release, especially near summer where game droughts typically occur, making the

western holidays where increased travels occur vital to the Switch's local success.

But what's going to cause hurdles for eager buyers is the cost for expanded memory and

the lack of a bundled game which can make a day 1 purchase easily border $400 USD if

not greater, especially when Microsoft and Sony can offer their main platforms for the

same price without either con.

The core Switch benefits being cartridges mean no mandatory installs so you're getting

more mileage even with less memory, and while most might not agree, the contents of the

box allowing for a single controller that splits into two makes multiplayer games easier

to enjoy locally, even if it means spending $300 on the base system instead of just buying

a 2nd $60 controller, but perhaps all those increased early costs aren't as important

as many would suggest.

That might sound odd, but the competition's marketing for their 8th gen systems has proven

you don't need outstanding quality content or insanely affordable pricing on new platforms

if you can sell them on the system itself, which has been and will continue to be the

main focus of Nintendo's marketing for the first year of the Switch's lifespan, which

isn't unlike that of the PS4 and Xbox One's first year where games, usually last-gen ports

or easy to look over exclusives, weren't the primary focus of promotional material.

The key difference being that Nintendo is aiming to offer a solid first-party library

in their first year alone, opening with their strongest system seller, Breath of the Wild,

unlike their competition where those big-name exclusives didn't start arriving till 2

years later.

So, to many it seems odd to spread that content out over a year instead of busting through

the gate guns blazing and that might be because Nintendo's primary focus isn't the games

themselves, but instilling good faith in consumers looking to adopt while keeping with a steady

flow of content.

And so far Nintendo has done a good job of targeting more mature gamers while conveying

what their new platform is to both East and Western consumers in ways that more easily

appeal to each market thanks to its hybrid form, and while it's thankfully paid off

with the system garnering interest similar to that of the PS4, their lack of transparency

and tendency to announce the wrong, often vague, details before the right ones have

been a major point of criticism that usually raises more questions than they answer, often

leaving consumers to lose faith and imagine a worst case scenario.

Now, Zelda's release alongside the Switch with Mario Odyssey's later in the year might

seem odd to many, but it immediately paints the system as being for the more hardcore

gamer, and it also harkens back to the original Wii's release where, even with a bundled

party game, the new Zelda, Twilight Princess, was a major focus for new buyers and a key

system seller that helped paved the way for the system's success, only this time DLC

is now an option and through it, they're aiming to show those that skipped the Wii

U that not only will they be supporting their software longterm, but that they'll be able

to deliver quality content that is well worth the cost.

Anything to ensure users stick with the system for longer durations of time.

And that might be why Nintendo's early major titles all have an emphasis on online play,

with the best example being Splatoon 2, that will be their key title for demonstrating

their supposedly improved online, which will be key in selling players on their upcoming

paid online services, that finds itself surprisingly cheap.

It's not the most groundbreaking idea and the bonuses aren't amazing, but it's far

more affordable than the similar programs Microsoft and Sony are offering.

Mario Kart 8 Deluxe finds itself somewhere in the middle of those ideals, bundling the

fantastic DLC into the base game alongside improved online, and how well it goes over

with consumers may speak well for other supposed Wii U ports that seem guaranteed to happen.

Now ports aren't the most enticing deals, but they're perfect for lowering the barrier

for entry, but unless there's a gimmick tied to them there's no real reason to double

dip, but the portable features of the Switch might be enough to entice most players as

it can essentially change how certain games are experienced.

And what makes that idea so ingenious is it creates public and portable gathering spots

for players that can essentially serve as a more direct second form of word of mouth.

It's amazing hardware that Nintendo will likely aim to improve in the future and thanks

to the joycons built in motion controls and split controller design comfortable play can

be taken to its most extreme.

While that comfort might not be the greatest path to success, when compiled with its portability

the system's appeal dramatically increases, especially among younger gamers who are often

subject to family trips on the holidays, having no choice but to leave their home consoles

behind, but that's not the case with the Switch, so it's not exactly absurd to suggest

during any major holiday to see a noticeable increase in sales opposed to competition,

even if there is less visual polish, but for most the amount of content being offered is

the major concern, and while that won't be an issue for Nintendo fans and hardware

enthusiasts, depending on the player, a wide variety of titles may be immediately excluded

based on their preferences.

It all depends on who you are and what you want out of the system.

The launch day and window titles are no doubt bare for many and while there are plenty of

indie and third party games coming as early as late March, with titles like Puyo Puyo

Tetris, Shovel Knight, and the like, those early moments are just a small step forward

in their year 1 plan of not only putting faith in consumers, but showing publishers that

the system is not only viable, but also a priority development platform.

While indie support is bound to increase, for better or worse, thanks to incredibly

cheap dev-kits, as the price drops, sales occur, and bundles become more readily available,

it's no doubt going to become a more highly sought after product for general consumers,

especially if they can manage it by the end of the year for Black Friday and Christmas.

If they can manage to attach that value to the console in its first year, anything is

possible, especially success.

Hey, thanks for watching, everyone.

I've been meaning to give my opinions on the Switch outside the poodcasts for a while

and I'm definitely excited for the system, but know quite a few who aren't, so I'd

love to hear your opinion of the system so far and what you think of its first year,

especially since there seems to be a steady stream of new titles being announced for the

system, especially from indie devs.

If you're new here, I'd encourage checking out the two videos displayed and subscribing

if you enjoy the content.

Thanks once again and I'll see you next time, much love.

Memobox UFO Pro Android 6.0 4K TV Box - Duration: 4:53.

Welcome viewers, an thanks for tuning in to the TV box stop channel, it's another day,

and we have another TV box, this box is the Memobox UFO pro, Amlogic S905X quad core Android

6.0 4K TV box.

In a minute, I'm going to do an overview of its hardware and features, to see what this

device can deliver, So stay tuned, I'll be right back after this.

Welcome back.

The Memobox UFO pro, is a new TV box with a design of something you would usually find

in a star wars movie.

Yes, it has the shape and design of a space shuttle, or a UFO as some people would say,

but this device isn't going to fly around the house shooting photon cannons at you,

Instead, it's going to dock right next to your TV, an bring to you an unlimited universe

of entertainment for the whole family.

So what can you really do with a device like this.

Firstly this is a streaming media player; Which means you can play online movie services

like YouTube, Netflix, HuLu, Sling TV, Show-box, Plex, and a host of other paid and free streaming

services.

It also functions as a gaming console, because it runs on a full version of Android 6.0 operating

system, which allows you to download and install any game from the Google Play Store or APK

file.

You can also use a wireless air mouse or Bluetooth game-pad for single or multiplayer configuration.

You can use the Memobox UFO Pro as a media hub connected to both your local network library

of content stored on a NAS drive server, or simply connected to an external hard drive,

you can then watch an share your personal content across any social media platform,

on a big screen from the comfort of your living room.

You can also mirror and share content directly from your smartphone or tablet, and play them

with apps like Miracast, DLNA, and airplay.

The Memobox UFO pro, can serve as a video conferencing device on apps like Skype, by

simply connecting any PC webcam an installing a free app called CameraFi, allowing you to

video chat for hours with friends and family from the comfort of your favorite couch, and

having all this displayed on the big screen on your HDTV, see the link in the description

area for the free CameraFi application.

Finally, you can use the Memobox UFO Pro as a mini PC, and surf the web with a fully functional

Google Chrome browser, or any browser of your choice, you can do this by simply connecting

a computer mouse or your regular keyboard via the USB port.

These are some of the many things that you can do with the Memobox UFO Pro, and Let's

have a look at it's hardware.

It runs on the Amlogic S905X quad core cortex A53 CPU, running up to 2.0GHz on a 64bit system.

Its graphics is powered by the Penta core Mali-450, running up to 750MHz.

It comes with 2GB of DDR3 RAM, and 16GB of internal storage.

It comes with 802.11 dual band 2.4 + 5.8GHz WiFi, and Bluetooth 4.0.

Let's have a look at it's connecting ports.

It comes with 1 HDMI port.

One USB 2.0 port, you have a standard RJ45 Ethernet LAN Port, there is an audio video

port, 1 SD Card slot, and the power adapter jack.

To the front, you have a power light indicator, and the Memobox logo at the top.

The Memobox UFO Pro, comes with an omni directional Bluetooth remote control, and this type of

remote is something you don't see very often included as part of the main package, and

I give them the thumbs up for including this as their stock remote.

So that just about sums up my overview of the Memobox UFO pro.

If you are interested in a cool looking TV box that turns any TV into a Android smart

one, see the link in the description area.

Thanks for watching, remember to like this video if you found it informative, share it

with your friends, and subscribe to this channel for more TV box stop videos.

Zack Wheeler quietly defiant that he will pitch for Mets in 2017 - Duration: 4:25.

PORT ST. LUCIE — Chances are Zack Wheeler has never been described as defiant, not with a laid-back personality that translates into an easygoing manner on and off the baseball field.

And I'm not sure it's the right word now, after spending some time talking to him in the Mets' clubhouse, but, well, let's put it this way: Wheeler hears the noise out there and he wants to shout it down with the right arm that once seemed to hold the most promise of all the Mets' celebrated starting pitchers.

He knows that some fans are ready to give up on him, convinced that early soreness here in spring training is proof he'll never make it back from his 2015 Tommy John surgery, and it angers him.

The trick is making it work for him rather than against him when he has been living with and fighting doubts for months now, or since a series of setbacks kept him from making an expected return to the starting rotation last summer.

And in this social media-crazed world it is more difficult than ever to tune out the noise.

"I was actually thinking about that when I was on the field,'' Wheeler was saying at his locker. "Because it gets to a point where people stop believing in you: they say it's either in your head or you don't want to play.

"That can get to you, but finally, I was like, 'why am I letting this get in my head and bother me?' I couldn't care less what people say about me, but they don't understand how much I want to be out there.

"I just want to be healthy and pitch. I miss it. I think I kind of took it for granted, but two years is a long, long time.''

On Sunday, Wheeler took a step in the right direction, throwing a bullpen for the first time since experiencing soreness earlier in the week, and said he felt good about it afterward.

Yet the doubt never goes away entirely after what he has been through, missing two full seasons since surgery in March of 2015.

You could hear it in Wheeler's voice on his first day in camp, when he said he wasn't getting his hopes up about a return to form because he'd already had so many setbacks. But since then he has indicated that's a mind game he plays, feeling more comfortable keeping expectations down publicly.

The reality, however, is that he came to camp with high hopes after an offseason in which he finally was able to throw regularly without the slightest bit of discomfort in his elbow.

"This whole offseason I was on a throwing program and it wasn't bothering me,'' he said. "I was letting it loose, I was letting it eat, throwing as hard as I could, and I was fine.

Wheeler is still trying to get back on the mound following Tommy John surgery in 2015.

(Howard Simmons/New York Daily News)

"I wasn't even getting sore the next day, which was surprising to me. I was like, 'what's going on here? I'm not even sore.' And of course I come here and it gets sore.

"I don't think I was trying to do too much, but when you get on that mound, you know you need to pick it up a little to start getting ready for games.

"It's beyond frustrating. I'm so tired of it, I just want to be healthy and pitch. But I wasn't really worried because it was still coming out of my hand well.

And now it's feeling good.''

Even so, Wheeler didn't push his arm during his bullpen session Sunday, taking Dan Warthen's advice to be cautious in ramping back up to full effort in the coming days.

So it remains to be seen if Wheeler can get over the hump, and while it's easy to conclude the odds are against him, Steven Matz went through a similar ordeal, missing more than two full seasons after Tommy John surgery in 2010.

"I've talked to Zack about it,'' Matz said. "But I don't know if it's the same as it was for me. I had to break through the scar tissue.

Everybody is telling you, 'just push through it, push through it,' but it's hard to do that when your arm feels restricted."

In Matz's case, it wasn't until Dr. James Andrews told him an MRI in 2012 made it unclear whether he might need a second surgery, and the only way to know for sure was to go out and throw as hard as he could and see if the elbow held up.

Matz did so without pain and says it "gave me peace of mind'' that allowed him to finally return to pitching.

To that, Wheeler says, "I've had the peace of mind. It's not that.''

No, he says, as if wanting to speak to the doubters on Twitter directly, "It's not in my head."

That's as close as Wheeler will come to declaring he'll get through this and pitch in 2017. For him it's practically defiant.

5. Value growth investing for beginners - Duration: 4:55.

Now that we've covered the basics

investing, I'd like to talk about what we

mean by value growth investing.

Value growth investing is a method of

investing that finds businesses with

growth potential and buys them when they're good value.

I've been following this approach for

many years after learning about it from

people like Warren Buffett and Charlie Munger.

But in order for this to work we need

to understand what we mean by growth and

what we mean by value. Growth in anything is

simply ending up with more than you

started with. So a growth company is one

whose value is expected to be greater in

the future so that it could be sold for a

price greater than that paid now.

But deciding which companies are likely to grow

in the future can be tricky and I exclude

financial companies, mining companies and

companies whose profits go up and down

in cycles because these are hard for me to

predict future growth. In general all

investing is about value, we want to buy

stock in a company that's priced lower

than we think it's worth. The problem is

how do we put a price on that value?

Traditionally value investing was about

buying a company for less than its

assets were worth. This was a method that was

taught by Benjamin Graham and initially

practiced by Warren Buffett but these

days it's almost impossible to find

quality companies that are priced below

their net worth. Value growth investing is

about looking for companies that have

growth potential and buying them when

they're good value. The value in this case

comes from the fact that the stock

market is not taking the future growth

potential into account, resulting in the

company being underpriced at present.

So it's more about a misprice of the growth

potential of the company rather than

the mispricing of the assets of the company.

The intrinsic value is the

absolute value of the company, not the

value relative to other companies in the

same industry and not the value put on

the company by the stock market or news

story hype. In the short term a company's

stock price says nothing about the

absolute value of the company.

In the long term it's to be hoped that the stock market

will recognise the absolute value

and provide a good return on the

investor's money.

So how do we calculate intrinsic value?

Well there are various models and calculations

we could use but I don't think trying to

calculate intrinsic value has merit

there are way too many variables and

unknowns instead look at the growth

factors that are important and decide if

these factors are included in the

current stock price. If not then the stock

becomes a possible purchase.

Also decide if too much cash is needed to provide this

growth and if so then the stock

becomes a possible pass. In other words

growth is always a component in the

calculation of value, whose importance

can range from negligible to enormous

and whose impact can be negative as well

as positive. Another important part of

making good investment decisions is

removing emotion from the equation.

Many investors buy on the hype in

financial news and sell when things look

generally bleak. This is a method that

will eat away at your returns, so try not to

get caught up in herd behaviour.

Fear and greed are two main factors behind short-term

price movements and should be removed from the

investors emotional make-up.

Warren Buffett believes that markets are

efficient in the long run but highly

inefficient in the short run and these

irrational prices can be exploited to earn

market-beating returns year-on-year.

To paraphrase Benjamin Graham: in the short

run the market is a voting machine but

in the long run it's a weighing machine.

Value growth companies are expected to

grow in the future and are purchased when

they represent good value for money now.

So how do we find them? I use free online tools

to screen the stocks of a given exchange

looking for factors that indicate

good growth potential.

I exclude companies that may be cyclical

or in industries that I don't feel confident

in understanding. And I then download

financial reports for the past five to

ten years and analyse these in a

spreadsheet I designed to check that

the growth isn't going to come at too

great a price.

Once those checks are

performed I'm left with a handful of companies

to check in more detail, by reading annual

reports and online sources of

information about the company so that I

have a better understanding of the

underlying business.

I don't look at analyst recommendations

since I prefer to do my own research that

isn't clouded by any potentially biased reports.

In the next few lessons I'll

introduce the online tools that I use

to screen and analyse value growth

companies, so that making investing

decisions becomes easy and stress-free.

Kevin Durant, Russell Westbrook connect for alley-oop in NBA All-Star Game - Duration: 1:28.

Kevin Durant and Russell Westbrook are putting their differences aside for the All-Star Game.

Westbrook joined Durant on the court for the Western Conference about midway through the first quarter Sunday in New Orleans, and the duo connected on an alley-oop shortly after.

Westbrook passed to a cutting Durant in the middle of the paint. Durant spun and offered a one-handed lob back to Westbrook, who flushed it home to cheers from the crowd - and fellow players.

"Oh my god what just happened?!" Steph Curry, Durant's Warriors teammate, said on the West bench after watching the dunk.

According to ESPN, the Kings' Demarcus Cousins told Durant, "I'm proud of you, man."

Draymond Green said "it was cute" during an interview on TNT during the game.

At the next timeout, Durant and Westbrook's fellow West All-Stars erupted, spraying water while jumping in huddle. Both Durant and Westbrook were smiling.

Just last weekend, the two superstars engaged in heated exchanges during the Warriors' 130-114 win over the Thunder, and they haven't been on speaking terms. This week in New Orleans, Westbrook refused to answer questions about playing alongside Durant for the West.

But there may be hope for a mended relationship, after all.

President Trump's revised travel ban will still target same seven Muslim countries as previous or... - Duration: 3:08.

WASHINGTON — A draft of President Donald Trump's revised immigration ban targets the same seven countries listed in his original executive order and exempts travelers who already have a visa to travel to the U.S., even if they haven't used it yet.

A senior administration official said the order, which Trump revised after federal courts held up his original immigration and refugee ban, will target only those same seven Muslim-majority countries — Iran, Iraq, Syria, Yemen, Somalia, Sudan and Libya.

The official said that green-card holders and dual citizens of the U.S. and any of those countries are exempt. The new draft also no longer directs authorities to single out — and reject — Syrian refugees when processing new visa applications.

The official spoke on condition of anonymity to discuss the order before it's made public. The official noted that the draft is subject to change ahead of its signing, which Trump said could come sometime this week.

Asked about the revised order, White House spokeswoman Sarah Huckabee Sanders said the document circulating was a draft and that a final version should be released soon. The Department of Homeland Security did not immediately respond to a request for comment.

Protests sprung up across the country as a result of the travel ban, including in lower Manhattan.

(Andrew Savulich/New York Daily News)

The Wall Street Journal also reported that the current draft of the revised order focused on the seven countries but excluded those with green cards.

Trump's original executive order triggered chaos at airports around the world, as travelers were detained when the order rapidly went into effect, U.S. permanent residents known as green-card holders among them. Attorneys to provide legal assistance those held and protesters descended on the airports as news of the order's implementation spread.

In its original form, the order temporarily suspended all travel to the U.S. for citizens of those seven Muslim-majority countries for 90 days.

The original order also called for Homeland Security and State department officials, along with the director of national intelligence, to review what information the government needs to fully vet would-be visitors and come up with a list of countries that can't or won't make the information available. It said the government will give countries 60 days to start providing the information or citizens from those countries will be barred from traveling to the United States.

Even if Syrian refugees are no longer automatically rejected under the new order, the pace of refugees entering the U.S. from all countries is likely to slow significantly. That's because even when the courts put Trump's original ban on hold, they left untouched Trump's 50,000-per-year refugee cap, a cut of more than half from the cap under the Obama administration.

The U.S. has already taken in more than 35,000 refugees this year, leaving less than 15,000 spots before hitting Trump's cap, according to a U.S. official. That means that for the rest of this fiscal year, the number of refugees being let in per week will likely fall to a fraction of what it had been under the Obama administration's cap of 110,000.

Earlier this month, the 9th Circuit Court of Appeals in San Francisco refused to reinstate Trump's ban, unanimously rejecting the administration's claim of presidential authority, questioning its motives and concluding that the order was unlikely to survive legal challenges.

The pushback prompted Trump to tweet "SEE YOU IN COURT!" and he has since lashed out at the judicial branch, accusing it of issuing a politically motivated decision.
