Youtube daily report Feb 23 2017

Roman philosopher, Seneca, said,

"Doing good deeds

for the wrong reasons is usually mistaken as a virtue."

Hello and welcome to Case Closed.

It's painful to hear a quote like this one,

because sometimes the law abides by these wrong reasons

for which people do good deeds.

Let's see how this relates to today's first case.

Please bring out the litigants.

I won't let my own mother reject me!

I wanted to do a good deed and now it has backfired on me.

Good afternoon and welcome.

-Good afternoon. -Good afternoon.

Laidy, you're suing Jennifer.

Tell me who's Jennifer why you're suing her,

and what you demand in order to settle this case.

Good afternoon.

Jennifer is my mother.

I'm suing her for $50,000 because she almost killed me

and recently, she kicked me out of the house.

I have nowhere else to go.

-How old are you? -I'm 24 years old.

Tell me the facts surrounding this case.

I'll explain.

I was born and raised in Guaimaro.

It's a municipality in Camaguey, Cuba.

I lived there with my parents. I had a wonderful childhood.

I was very happy. I have no complaints.

I went to college and studied photography.

It was and still is my passion.

When I finished college,

I told my parents I wanted to come to the US.

I wanted to help them

and I wanted a better future for myself.

I had an aunt here in the US who helped us.

She sent us money, gifts

and other things every month.

She'd send them all the time.

Yes, she did.

After I told my parents I wanted to come here,

they decided to tell me a secret they'd kept from me

for 21 years.

I had no idea about this.

The secret was that this woman, who I thought was my aunt,

isn't actually my aunt.

She's my biological mother.

And the people who I thought were my parents

are actually my aunt and uncle.

She's my biological mother.

When I found out, it wasn't easy for me.

However, I still see my aunt and uncle as my parents.

They'll always be my parents.

She went to Cuba to meet me

and I asked her to bring me here so I could keep studying

and help my parents.

She said no, but I kept insisting

until we finally managed to get it done and I came to the US.

She had me living in a tiny room.

-It's all I could give you. -It was tiny room.

She treated me like a servant

She had me do the cleaning, the shopping, the cooking.

I was responsible for everything.

Living with her was horrible. I don't know her.

We'd never lived together before this.

My real parents are in Cuba,

but I wanted to come here to keep studying.

She calls me a dumbass, a rafter, an idiot,

She'll insult me in every way possible.

One day, I was really sick and tired.

We had a huge argument.

I couldn't take it anymore. Things almost got physical.

I left the house in a fit of craziness.

It was 2:00 AM. It was raining.

I left the house.

I was desperate.

She was driving me insane.

I couldn't take it anymore.

We don't get along. I don't love her.

There's no chemistry.

I kept walking. It was raining

Suddenly I turned into another street,

I saw a light, and then a car hit me.

I fell on the floor.

I got up. My head hurt.

I was dizzy.

She was the one who ran me over.

She was in her car.

She called the ambulance. I was taken to the hospital.

I was treated there. They helped me.

I brought evidence. May I show it to you?

Here are the medical reports.

I even took a picture of the bruise I had in my head.

I took the picture myself so you could see it.

After that, I was supposed to be in bed.

I couldn't move because of the bruise in my head

and the fracture in my sternum, which prevented me

from exerting myself physically.

I went back to her house

because I had nowhere else to go.

The arguments got worse.

There was nothing I could do in the house and that upset her.

I couldn't do anything so she kicked me out of the house.

She told me to get out because she didn't want me there.

Her slave couldn't do anything

because she had to rest so she kicked me out.

I was desperate.

A friend of mine from school helped me

and let me stay at her parent's house.

I'd never told anyone about the accident

because I'm all alone here.

I told her family about what had happened

and they told me that she should've called the police

after the accident.

She should've filed a report with the police

and that her car's insurance should've compensated me.

Now that I know, I'm not going to back down.

She should've compensated me, but she didn't.

What do you think?

You think she wanted to kill you?

I don't know...

You think she tried to run you over to kill you

and get rid of you?

She was looking for you.

How fast was she going?

She hit me.

I don't know how fast she was going.

She hit me and I hit the pavement.

She must've been going at 20 or 30 miles per hour.

You say she hit you hard,

but the medical report says you have superficial bruising

and a fractured sternum.

Falling could lead to a sternum fracture.

I'm guessing.

So the aunt who sent you money to Cuba...

The aunt who's actually my mother.

She's your mother.

She just wanted me to bring her here.

Now you want her to pay you $50,000

because of the accident?

-Yes. -Alright.

How do you respond, Jennifer?

Look, let me tell you something, ma'am.

It's terribly embarrassing for me for my daughter to sue me.

Why?

Ma'am, I brought her here because...

First, tell me why you left her with your relatives in Cuba.

I've been in this country for 24 years.

I was 20 when she was born.

My dream was to come to this country.

When she was born,

I was practically ready to leave Cuba.

My sister couldn't have any children

so she told me to leave the baby.

She said she and her husband would raise her as their own.

I know I made a mistake in leaving her,

but I did leave her with my sister.

I never disrespected my sister and told her I was her mother.

I always sent them food and money for her and the family.

Back then I was her beloved aunt.

When she decided to come here

and found out I was her mother,

she didn't hate me like she does now.

Sure, she must feel some sort of resentment towards me.

However, the accident didn't happen like she said.

She went crazy that night. She got upset and left.

I waited a few minutes.

She didn't come back,

so I went looking for her in my car.

If you're driving and looking for someone,

you're not going to go very fast.

I must've been going at about 15 miles per hour.

I was driving around the block and that's when she walked out.

I brought evidence.

It's a video.

Footage?

Yes, it's a video. I filmed it with my camera.

Alright, we'll take a short break.

When w

This was the road you were driving in? Alright, we'll take a short break.

Yes.

Ma'am, she walked out from behind those bushes.

It was 2:00 AM and it was drizzling.

I might've brushed her with the car...

You hit me!

But it wasn't very dark.

-Was it that lit up that night? -Yes.

No, where I was coming from, it was dark.

It wasn't like that.

-Do you have car insurance? -I do.

-Basic car insurance? -Yes, ma'am.

PIP, etc?

-Yes, ma'am. -The most basic insurance.

LO MÁS BÁSICO. - SÍ. - Y USTED A LO QUE LLAMÓ

Yes.

You called the Fire Rescue.

Yes, because she was hurt and she needed help.

I went to the hospital with her. We spent 24 hours there.

-I was by her side. -She had to.

When we got back home, it was like hell.

She's impossible to live with. She's rude and disrespectful.

I don't have the patience to deal with that.

It's impossible to live with her.

I can't stand her anymore. She's driving me insane.

Do you hear her? She can't stand me.

We don't have a good relationship...

Who has witnesses?

-I do. -So do I.

Let's bring out both witnesses.

Things didn't happen like you said they did.

No? And how'd they happen?

She's not right, ma'am.

She yells and insults me.

You'll walk out of here with a check for...

Do you expect her to treat you like a child?

No, I just need her to be supportive.

-I have no one else. -Hello.

Who's here on behalf of the plaintiff?

I am.

-What's your name? -Fernanda.

What have you come to testify?

Look, I work in the agency...

She's a courier. She travels to Cuba.

I work with Jennifer.

She's the one I sent things to Cuba with,

but they're in cahoots.

Alright.

The other day I was at work

and this shameless woman told me everything that happened.

She told me about the accident and said,

"Thank God I didn't call the cops, because otherwise,

the insurance would've raised my monthly payment."

Ma'am, she's taking advantage of the kid,

because she doesn't know the laws here.

Hey, hey!

She doesn't know the laws here because she doesn't want to.

She has time to go on social media

to stay in touch with her friends.

Facebook, Instagram, and every other site out there

so she can also take the time to review our laws.

She doesn't even work here.

-I know. -That's not your problem!

I know, but I can't go on a tangent and talk about couriers

because I'll be here all day.

Let's stay on course here and discuss

the issues that pertain to this case, which is enough.

-Your name? -Alvaro.

I'm Jennifer's witness.

She's very good friends with my mother.

She's been like a mother to me as well.

Ever since her daughter came here, she's been miserable.

-She's unhappy. -She's always worrying.

I brought a video so you can meet the real Laidy.

Laidy?

What video?

Let's take a look.

21 years and I never heard from you!

You're going to pay me!

You almost killed me! Stop recording me!

Don't record me!

-I won't stop. -Alvaro, please.

You think I'm going to stay here?

You're a criminal!

I'm going to get that money from you!

You'll try!

Yeah, I threw myself in front of your car!

It's the only way I can get that money out of you!

So she threw herself in front of the car?

Isn't that what she said?

I said that because I was mad.

Why would I throw myself in front of her car?

She did, didn't she?

She didn't see me! I didn't do that!

-She's a snake. -Oh, please!

Bring out Dr. Carolyn Maldonado,

Angel Leal, attorney at law, and Detective Peñate.

Bring him out as well.

Superficial hematoma.

Is that a bruise?

In this case, I saw the picture that was presented as evidence.

The hematoma was big enough

for there to have been a contusion.

That wasn't mentioned in the medical report,

but that could've been the case given the size of the hematoma.

What about the sternum fracture?

There are many ways in which you can fracture your sternum.

A direct hit to your chest will do it.

Sternum fractures are common after a car accident

or after a fall.

Usually if the fracture isn't very serious,

there's no treatment.

The sternum will heal itself

and the patient is prescribed painkillers.

-Alright. -It's horribly painful.

I can imagine. It must be dreadful!

I'm sure you've never gone through it.

Mr. Leal, I thought that when you call 911...

Did you call 911?

I did.

I thought the police were supposed to show up, right?

They should've showed up.

It seems like they sent the Fire Rescue when she called.

Maybe the Fire Rescue didn't call the police

because she went to the hospital with her daughter.

That's my take on it because you're right.

The police and the Fire Rescue should've both showed up.

Ma'am, when the Fire Rescue sees evidence of an accident,

they're supposed to call the police.

That's protocol.

In this case,

it'd be interesting to hear the 911 call.

Maybe she didn't say there'd been an accident.

Since she hit her head and the car wasn't damaged,

if no one tells the rescuers what happened,

they'll think that the mother found her daughter

and that she'd been hurt.

Who would think the mother hit her daughter with the car

in the middle of the night?

Well, we know she didn't actually hit her.

Of course, the truth is out now.

Right, we know she didn't hit her.

She ran me over.

We know the plaintiff threw herself in front of the car.

-I did not! -She confessed it!

-Why would I do that? -It was premeditated.

I won't ask for anything else. I won't complicate this.

I think this has been tragic enough.

We don't need to add anything else.

First of all, I feel a lot of pity.

Many people might say

that the defendant abandoned her daughter,

but she really didn't.

She left her daughter in the care of people who loved her,

who wanted to raise her, and who raised her wonderfully.

She said so herself.

She has no complaints about her childhood.

My parents were great.

-Doubtless. -With my money.

She did what she had to do.

She provided for her daughter. She sent her money.

Money isn't enough.

When the truth came out, she brought her here.

She gave her the opportunity to come to this country

so she could progress.

And that's the problem.

Her idea of progress can't coexist

with our reality in this country.

Sadly, a lot of people come here from Cuba

and think that they can live here like they lived in Cuba.

Without doing anything.

They think money will grow on trees

and that the people in this country have an obligation

to provide for them, but that's not the case.

I don't think that.

If that's what you think, then don't come here.

Stay in Cuba.

Fight for your freedom and progress in Cuba.

Maybe if you do something, you can get what you want

and you can keep living the life you're used to.

But don't come here, not with this mentality.

I deny you your claim entirely.

It's final. Case closed!

-What do I do now? -Get to work!

Get a job! Get to work.

Resultados 2016 | 2016 Results - Duration: 1:37.

2016 has been a very demanding year.

Firstly, because of market volatility.

Secondly, because it has been a year with low oil and gas prices.

In this environment, Repsol has shown that it is able to create value at $43 per barrel

Brent,

and that with these prices and throughout its business,

it is able to generate cashflow in organic terms after paying dividends to its shareholders.

All this has been possible, first of all, thanks to an efficiency program.

We have reduced our operational costs by more than €1.600 billion

and we have beaten by 50% the already ambitious goal we had set in our Strategic Plan.

Secondly, thanks to exhaustive control of CAPEX, investments.

We have achieved our goals this year and done so sustainably.

Today we can say we are going

to maintain our production at around

700,000 barrels per day for the coming years.

Throughout this year we were able to replace our reserves

organically.

Furthermore, we did it at the same time as we reduced CO2 emissions throughout this year.

Therefore, we are aligned with the objectives set at the COP21 conference and can guarantee

the sustainability of our company in environmental terms.

It was a demanding year, but we were able to

demonstrate our ability to create value and to increase our financial flexibility. What's more,

We did it sustainably.

Desafortunadamente, no realizaremos viajes hacia allá.

Intel Mini PC NUC-6i5SYH |Thes Unboxing GR +Eng Subs - Duration: 10:58.

Hello I am John and this is Thes Unboxing

Behind the camera is Alice

Whoever doesn't know us, press Subscribe and the Notification Bell!

The rest, Like and Share

Today we don't have a phone since we've had so many phones recently

Today we have an Intel Mini PC

We can connect it to a TV or use it like a normal PC, with a monitor

It is mini so it doesn't take up too much space

and we are going to check its performance later

As long as we see it ourselves

Seems to have good parts inside, it has USB type-3 ports

Let's see what's inside the box

We have an Intel Mini PC

This specifically, is the NUC6i5SYH

It has an Intel i5-626OU CPU

I have said that I don't like Intel but this is not for me

It has 8GB DDR4 RAM, No internal storage, but space for a HDD/SSD

It has AC Wi-Fi, 4 USB 3.0 ports

It has the Intel 540 GPU, full-sized HDMI for 4K resolution, supports both 2.5"

SSD/HDD and m.2 which are the SSD's that you connect like graphics cards

It has Dual-Band AC Wi-Fi, Bluetooth version 4, 4 USB 3.0 ports

One port can charge something while the PC is off

It has Gigabit Ethernet and it accepts SDXC Cards

On the side, we can see that it can accept up to 32GB RAM

and the sizes of hard drives it can fit inside

HDMI, Intel WIDI (Wireless Display)

3 years warranty, Iris graphics

On the other side, we can see what slots it has

It's better to see them on the device

This is the PC

We are going to check it out later

Some documents from Intel with McAfee antivirus, we are not interested

Here it has some versions of hard drives from intel, we are not interested

Safety information, we are not interested

Here it should have a quick instruction manual

Which isn't in Greek so it doesn't interest us

Inside we find this, which is a base if you want to mount it on the wall,

(or on the back of a TV/monitor) so it won't take up any space

That's why you buy it

Here we have a small bag

with adaptors for the power socket for every country

So, wherever you are, if you take it for example to Europe and then you go to England which is not in Europe,

(laughing)

or Australia or America you can still use it

Let's see how

Here we have its power supply

And this way we have a power supply for Europe, in case we change country

Now we have power supply for UK

Very smart and nice

The power supply has 19v 3.43A which is the same as a laptop

So, this thing I have in my hands can be replaced with a power supply of a laptop

So, laptops could have so small power supply

Very nice let's check out the pc

On the front, it has 2 USB 3.0 slots, one of which can be used for charging,

and 1 slot for a headset, 1 slot for both the headphones and the microphone

A LED to know when it's on

On the side, the slot for the SD card we talked about, and a Kensington lock,

so you can lock it on a desk with a special lock they have for laptops

On the back, we can see that it has the slot for the power supply,

HDMI, Ethernet, 2 USB 3.0s and a Display Port

Over here it has 2 holes for ventilation

Over here it doesn't have anything apart from some more airflow holes

On the top, it is glossy, it has a sticker on it, and the power button

Let's see what it has inside, I am going to open it so you can see

Here we have the SSD

A Kingston 120 GB

it has 2 SODIMM DDR4 memory slots

DDR4 of course

which means that it is designed for laptop memory

There is also a low power, laptop designed power supply so you can say it has a pcb like a laptop

and here you can put in the M.2 SSDs

So you can have one more extra disc

So in this version you can have 2 discs

There is a slimmer version which takes only 1 M.2 disc

That' s all from the interior of the mini PC

Very solid and fanless, that's why it's silent

A very nice PC but it has a high price.

Here as you can see we have turned it on

It's a Windows 10 PC, we have only plugged in a keyboard and mouse and it's like a normal PC

Some MB from the ram is used for the graphics

The CPU is the Intel Core i5 6260u at 1.8 GHz (boosts to 2.9GHz) with 8GB RAM

out of which we can use the 7.89GB the rest are being used for the graphics

Very nice we are going to test it and tell you what we think

This was the mini pc from Intel

You can use it for office work or as a media station

It costs 500 euros you can find it in many online/stores e.g. Electronicline.gr

At around 500 euros, you are still going to need a hard drive too

So, I would say that you need around 600 euros in total

It's a mobile i5 so it can do a lot

I wouldn't say it's good enough for games, you can't use it as a gaming station

You could use it as an in-house game streaming machine or you can connect an external graphics card,

I have seen some and use it as a gaming station like this

It's a nice box, I have removed the sticker and it looks nice and shiny, feels glossy

On the sides, it is made out of aluminium Very nice and useful

I recommend it if you don't have a lot of space or don't want a pc that makes a lot of noise

Or if you travel a lot and you can connect it to a TV

It's very small and light and you can take it wherever you go with you

That's all, I hope you liked the video

We are going to see you on the next video, don't forget to press Like, Share and Subscribe

See you

and chopped parsley/coriander if you like

cook the whole thing for about 20 minutes

you can add nigari if you want but it is not essential

The peas have absorbed the water and are now cooked

very mushy

transfer them into a baking dish

and let the content cool down

Once cold, tofu can be easily removed from the baking dish

it can be used to make delicious sandwiches

it can be easily frosted/defrosted

here's an example of defrosted tofu

the taste is unalterated

I hope you enjoyed my recipe, until next time!

Rachel – Relationships now I'm out as transgender - Duration: 4:55.

Hi, Rachel here again with this week's video,

which is about being trans and relationships.

So, when you come out to someone as trans,

then there's a very good chance

because most people probably still don't know someone who's trans,

there's a good chance that you just don't know how they're going to react.

Unless you already know that they know trans people

and are OK with them, then you're taking a risk ...

and therefore, depending on what the relationship is,

– whether it's a partner, or family, or friend, or colleague –

is what the stakes is that you're gambling, basically.

So, that said, how did it go for me?

When I came out to my wife, she was ...

... well it was unplanned, as I said before ...

she was completely loving and supportive from day 1

and not only that, not only has our relationship survived, and prospered,

but we're just far closer than we ever were before,

it's gone really well for us. Not least of course

because I'm just far more open and happy

and not living his life in a half-person

that I was before. That was no fun at all.

I didn't realise I was doing it, of course, until I came out,

and it started to change ... but that's the way it was.

With my friends, outside of work, most of them have been pretty good,

almost all of them have been really good. There's still a couple,

– I've written an article on the blog about this –

still a couple who have their old small-town ways, that mindset ...

where they don't really accept me properly.

You can tell, because they still use my old name,

and that hurts. And of course, because it hurts,

that means that our friendship comes with a cost.

Which of course then makes me wonder, well, "Is it worth it?".

There's some ... benefits, there's some good things

about having those people as friends, but there's a cost as well,

so is it worth it?

We'll see how that one goes,

it's a developing situation that one.

And ...

Then my family. When I came out to my parents,

that was planned, but it was really hard.

I suspected that my dad would be more OK

with things than my mum was ... and I was right.

Mum was more resistant. I could tell for a while after I came out to her

that what she really wanted me to say was,

"I'm not trans! It's all been a big mistake! I'm going to go back to the way things were."

Sorry mum, no, didn't happen.

For a while she struggle to accept

and remember to use my new name, and she

still used the old name. And that hurt as well. And one day I kind of

snapped, and <sigh>, told her, made it very clear to her,

how upsetting that was, and how ...

how I really needed her to do better.

And she did, she did better at that point,

from that moment onwards really.

She was terminally ill, she died 15 months ago,

and when we could all see her death coming,

I think that's what she realised that

there was just no point going to the grave regretting these things,

so she just accepted me, properly,

as a daughter, and that was ...

... that's the way it should be, and it was good.

So that's all the existing relationships, but

how about new relationships? Because before I

was out as trans, I wasn't very good at

the social thing, I wasn't very good at making

and keeping friends. But especially in the

last two-and-a-half, three years or so, I've made a

whole load of friends via Twitter and

so on – mostly trans people – and that's,

it's just great!

Of course the fact that we're trans means that

we have something in common,

but basically what it means is that, because

I'm more open and sociable and

so forth, that I can just

connect with people, and just form these friendships, and

we can support each other ...

And it just feels so different to what I used to call friendship beforehand.

And it's still a bit of a novelty! I like it, it's cool!

I'm still getting used to the idea ... yeah.

And that's one of the best things, to be honest,

about this whole experience, is the fact

that it's allowed me to connect to people

in a way I couldn't before.
