Our World Spot Check - January 24, 2017 - Storms, Trump, Happy Children, Mexico, Millennials - AM - Duration: 3:06.

This is the Our World Spot Check for January 24, 2017 from Amica Mundi

Here are just a few snippets from Our World today...

Deadly T-Storms and Tornadoes Batter Three States

As many as 50 tornadoes combined with violent thunderstorms claimed 19 lives from Thursday

through Sunday in Georgia, Mississippi and the Florida panhandle, according to reports.

Coroner's Offices there believe the death toll may rise as they continue to search for

survivors.

President Trump spoke with officials in Georgia, expressing his condolences for the loss of

life and promising aid to the ravaged region

Trump signs order to move controversial oil pipelines forward

This morning President Trump signed an executive order that reverses the Obama administration

policy and allows the Keystone XL and Dakota Access oil pipelines to go forward.

Groups opposing this move, especially the Standing Rock Sioux that organized the successful

protests to stop work on the Dakota Access pipeline, have said they will challenge the

order.

Dutch Children 'Happiest in the World' According to UNICEF

According to a 2013 study from UNICEF, Dutch children rank as the happiest in the world,

due in large part of simple practices like eating a good breakfast, riding bikes to school,

and being encouraged to play outside often.

The report found that these children often eat breakfast with their parents, which involves

talking together, an important part of learning and bonding.

Early school downplays tests and achievement, instead encouraging exploration and play.

Experts say this establishes a pattern of seeing school as positive, which lasts their

lifetimes.

Mexico Seeing Massive Gas-Price Protests

The recent move by the government of President Enrique Peña Nieto to privatize the oil industry

has led to the gasolinazo - Mexico's word for a sudden and massive hike in the price

of gasoline.

Protests have turned violent, leading to looting and deaths.

Nieto is already under suspicion of corruption and his government is now besieged by citizens

and economic woes.

Cities May Run Out of 'Millennials' Soon

Citing research by Dowell Myers, a professor of demography and urban planning at the University

of Southern California, the New York Times reports that those of the Millennial Generation

who have lived mostly in cities are aging and moving to suburbs, a shift that will have

a large impact on the economy and culture of cities in the US.

Demand for urban living may stall in the coming years with unknown but dramatic impacts.

Abraham Hicks - Sinais de que a manifestação está próxima - Duration: 14:39.

[Guest] - Hello!

So I was wondering in some of your earlier recordings

you talk about going to the workshop

Going about my day, seeing things I want. Making notes of those things I want

and then bring it back to my workshop and manage

[Abraham] - Visualization!

[Guest] - Yeah! And then manifesting that my workshop every day.

But then you have the meditation piece

Which is like spend 15 minutes meditating

breathing...

3 breaths, 5 breaths out

You know, you're always like: "you don't need to do too much of it !"

"Too much of it is, you know: not a good thing!"

So, what should I be doing?

Should be doing the workshop or should I be doing the meditation?

[Abraham] - Well, what you described here were step 3 first and step one.

In other words

The meditation is putting yourself in the place of allowing what you've asked for to be realized by you

Because if you're not offering contradictory thought

Your vibration will raise

And then you will realize, then thoughts will come and impulses will come

The visualization is really helpful when you are in alignment with your desire

So, it's a really good question

And we're going to explain it to you here, so you'll know exactly what to do

Let's begin here

Every subject is really two subjects:

Wanted and absence of what is wanted.

And you are in the vicinity of one or the other usually

When you want something and you are in vibrational alignment with what you want

Then the more detail you give to it. The more you think about it.

Tthe more good feeling thoughts you have about it.

Then the more you practice the vibration that allows it to flow into your experience

Is what expectancy is.

Expectation is a powerful state of being

Because it means that what you want and what you believe are in the same place

Let's clarify: positive expectation is that.

You could negatively expect something too

Which is what you don't want and what you believe

So, expectation is really a sort of defining of what your point of attraction is in any moment in time

So, let's say that you want something and you've wanted it for a while

And you're not seeing the evidence of it coming about

and you're becoming discouraged

because you're noticing the absence of it

more than you're noticing the presence of it

Well, under those conditions, we would not encourage you to go to a workshop and try to imagine it

Because you've already got contradictory energy going on

So, any thought you think about it

Is gonna add to the "it isn't working" more than it's gonna to add to the "it is working"

So if you want something that you doubt

Meditation is a better tool for you

Because in the absence of thought your vibration will raise

But let's say you want something

You've been wanting it for a while

And you've been tuned in

You're feeling good and an idea occurs to you

When that idea occurs to you, we would milk it for all it's worth

In other words

When you get that idea and you say "I've got a great idea!"

We would sit, we would sketch it

and we would draw it we would think about it

We would even talk about it with others.

We would get the energy of that moving

So, what we're really talking about is momentum.

You gotta know in which direction the momentum is going.

If the momentum is going toward what you want

Then be more descriptive!

If the momentum is going away from what you want

Then shut it down. Take a nap. Go to sleep. Meditate.

[Abraham] - Clear? [Guest] - Clear.

[Guest] - That's a great question because i'm about to buy a vehicle

And I've been thinking about this vehicle

I set on the rowing machine at the gym every day and I visualized, actualize

And it's this close I can taste it

But the money is not there in the bank

So I think I pinch myself off

So, i'm in the momentum, is it ok to expect that that's going to take care of itself?

[Abraham] - Yes! Yes, it is!

In fact, that is the exact thing to do.

Let's talk about this for a minute

When you want something that you do not believe that you have the means to

What does that feel like?

It feels like discouragement.

It feels like tension

It feels like stress

So, if you keep being on your rowing machine

And you keep thinking about it and the stress gets bigger

Then what you're doing is not helping

It would be better for you to sort of back off from it a little bit

But this is the piece that we really want you to hear

Oh so want you to hear this...

Because everything that everyone wants no matter what it is

A material object or state of being, a pile of money or relationship

Circumstances and events...

Everything that everybody wants is because they believed

They would feel better in the having of it

So we don't want the full manifestation of that vehicle to be necessary

in order for you to feel good

Now we know when you get it you're going to really feel happy

But we want that happiness to just feel like the next logical step

Not bouncing off the wall or miracle has happened

[Abraham] - Can you feel what we're getting at? [Guest] - Uhum!

[Abraham] - So do you believe that what we said about sifting and sorting?

You said you've been thinking about this for a long while

Every time you drive a vehicle that doesn't please you launch part of one that does

Every time something is not wanted what is wanted goes into this vibrational reality

So, do you believe that there is a vibrational version already in existence...?

You and that new vehicle already in existence?

Not very satisfying because you can't drive it yet

But do you accept that there is a vibrational reality already there?

[Guest] - Absolutely!

[Abraham] - So since you accept that there is a vibrational reality already there

Then source is there with you with it

In other words

it's a vibrational reality that already exists

And source it's calling you on this path of least resistance to the full realization of it

So, what's the first thing that's going to happen?

Ideas about it!

Your clarification about it!

The emotion about it!

And when that emotion that you feel about it feels exciting

When it is exhilarating to you to think about it

That means that the manifestation is well underway

Because it's a very short distance from that vibrational state of being where your joyful

even an absence of it

It feels in almost immediately under those conditions

But most people don't allow themselves to be in that joyful state

unless it has already happened

They want to see it before they feel like this

So that brings us to the most important discussion that we will ever have with any of you

Which is unconditional joy,. Unconditional positive expectation. Unconditional!

The vehicle isn't there yet but the joy about it is!

Because when the joy about something is there

It has to morph into the full realization of it.

It is illogical! It cannot not be!

But you can't be discouraged and go there!

You can't be disappointed and get there!

You see what we're talking about?

You gotta find the vibration first!

Now we know

There are so many things that you do relative to your action

And so it feels like "Well, if I could just work more..."

"If I could just make more money... If I could just find some way..."

And, yes, we're not saying that all of those things won't be part of the process that

will bring you to what you're wanting

We're just saying you can't get there from discouragement

But you can get there from joy

So, the answer to your question is:

If it turns you on and light you up to think about it

Then do all of that you can!

But do it for the lighting up not because you need the vehicle!

That's the piece that we so much want you to hear!

If you're imagining it and feeling good...

That's success!

But so often you say

you have this ulterior motive

"Okay! I'll do that so that I can get that!"

And if that's the motive then since you haven't got that then this gets old

But if you're doing this if you're finding the thought that

Because it thrills you to find the thought of it

If it feels good to think about it

[Guest] - I'm afraid it's giving me more joy thinking about it than actually doing it

[Audience laughs]

[Abraham] - Well, here's the thing:

If something is giving you joy, it's coming!

But if you're afraid, it's not!

So we don't believe that you're afraid of it coming.

And we don't believe that you are really afraid that...

Well... We see what you mean.

Sometimes you do think that! You think: "Oh! Abraham!"

"You don't really mean to lead me to my vehicle!"

"You just want to lead me to happiness!"

[Audience laughs]

"That's so tricky!"

[Audience laughs]

And we say: "Yeah!"

Because when you get to happiness all the manifestations that represent that

Have to flow into your experience.

But if you need the manifestation to get too happy

that's a conditional love that's backwards

and that's what slows you down!

You got that, didn't you?

So, don't think about it so much!

don't think about it so much

don't think about it so much

Just think about it when it occurs to you!

Because if you let it occur to you

it's occurring to you in your state of alignment

And in your state of alignment

there's a progression that happening

So, this goes to your first question

Don't try so hard! Don't try to script it in the being!

Just allowed into being.

Can you feel the difference?

Can you feel the difference between demanding it and just allowing it?

Don't try so hard!

[Guest] - So, don't overthink it!

Just let it only let it come when it feel it

[Abraham] - Care about how you feel

care about how you feel mostly

When you say: "I'm almost afraid!"

So, that little feeling of discomfort that sometimes comes is mild

But you can morph that or shift that by remembering how nimble it is

By remembering how robust it is

by remembering how solid it is

By remembering how security is

by remembering how good it feels

by thinking about how it smells

So now you're really scripting

Now you're seeing yourself in it!

Now you're really feeling it!

Now that's really positive strong momentum

in other words

A conversation like this took your way from the idea and the emotion

Into something... Something... Something... Something...

So when does a thought turned to a thing?

When does that happen?

[Guest] - When you feel it

[Abraham] - But we know you've got to be wondering:

"Abraham how long do I gotta do this crap?"

[Guest laughs] [Audience laughs]

And we say: "Really?"

"This that feels so good, you're putting a time limit on it?"

Because if you're putting a time limit on how long you gotta do this before you get to this

Then you're not really doing this the way we're encouraging you to do this

Can you feel what we're talking about?

if we can convince you that getting yourself feeling this

will lead so swiftly than that

but you gotta find a way to this

and almost no one really finds the way to that

because this is shrouded in doubt

and timetables and how long and sacrifices

so you gotta get purely to this

And we get purely to this as you really did in this discussion

Then it's very quick! Very quick !

you run into somebody who's got one

you run into somebody that's got one that doesn't have one

[Audience laughs] [Guest laughs]

As you are co-creating with one another

You have no idea the readiness that others have to play with you

because, in most cases you don't get here

and you don't stay there long enough to allow those things to happen

Uh... is so fun when you come to understand the power of your alignment

So life caused you to create a vibrational reality

A vibrational reality that is so real that...

It's realer, it's bigger, it's better it's fuller than the reality that you're living

and its current tense

you've got to find a way to feel it

to know it!

and then it's going to manifest

so let's look at this in another way

will be very brief about this

after the fact, after a manifestation occurs

it's easier to trace your steps back to the way you felt

Are there things in your life that have manifested

and you realize that you were doing that

and that what brought that about?

so spend time thinking about those things

make lists of things that you appreciate that have already manifested

it's an odd conversation we're having here

because on the one hand we don't want you to want manifestations

because they hang you up

but on the other hand we want you to find alignment

which means the manifestations will be inevitable

on the one hand you are spirit in physical bodies

on the other hand you've come into this environment to manifest materially

that's why you're in this leading-edge environment

It's supposed to manifest into these wonderful material things, you see?

We just want you to discover the unconditional alignment that feels so good

So some are afraid that they'll find

that unconditional alignment

and that the things won't matter

and they don't want the things to not matter

because they want the things

And we say: "don't worry about it! you're not ever going to get here without getting here!"

it's not one or the other!

but if you try to get here before you get here

it slows it way down

and then you get discouraged and then you doubt yourself

you doubt the process you doubt your worthiness

you doubt instead of believe

this was the best discussion on manifestation we've ever had

Crayola Crayon Illustration - Duration: 9:44.

Hey everyone!

I am back with a new video and this is going to be another video using Crayola crayons

and a ballpoint pen.

I actually did two separate videos using these materials in my channel already, so if you

want to see the previous videos, I will link them in the cards section of this video, which

is located on the top right corner with the "I" button.

So any old video that I would refer to will be linked through that button.

Just putting that out there for reference for future videos and other recent videos

I have.

Anyway, in this video I'll briefly talk about the artwork and a little bit about how

I started with art – which both have something to do with art materials, and whether or not

it really matters if you're art materials are cheap or expensive if you're just starting

out.

So the artwork in this one is fairly simple and straightforward.

I really just treated this like a sketchbook drawing.

I didn't put a lot of thought into what I'm going to do.

Instead I focused a little bit on how to execute the shading using the ballpoint pen because

the last I used a ballpoint pen for a drawing, is probably when I did the ballpoint pen challenge

video.

And that was ages ago.

So I actually did a warm up drawing before this, which prepped me to do the shading and

how to handle the pen so that it creates the lines that I wanted.

So something that I usually do for shading with a ballpoint pen is of course cross hatching,

but aside from that I also like to tilt the pen to its side, so that the ink doesn't

flow smoothly.

It actually almost feels like I'm simply scratching the paper, because the pen is hardly

making any marks on the paper.

But that actually allows me to vary the tones in the drawing.

And yeah that's what I did for the drawing part.

I mean I really just wanted to emphasise the cross hatching so eventually the crayons'

were kind of just like the final touch.

I mean I did try to imply the idea of light and shadow through the way I've placed specific

colours like yellow and purple, but aside from that I didn't really layer too much

with the crayons, especially the browns because the shading of the face was already achieved

by the pen.

For this one I simply wanted to somehow incorporate the style I have now to these cheap art materials,

which were the materials that I started out with when I was really young, but these specific

products are not the exact materials from my childhood.

The actual set of crayons that I used back then is gone now and I think I had a 128 set,

which was one of my most prized possessions back then.

Anyway, for anyone new to my channel or to anyone who doesn't know, I pretty much started

drawing from a really young age.

I usually say that I started at 6 just because that's my earliest memory of drawing, but

I feel like I've been drawing way before I was 6 which was back in 2001.

Anyway.

During that time I was really starting from scratch.

I didn't have a sketchbook until I was 12, so before then I used my dad's scrap paper

that he'd usually take home from work.

I'd use that for drawing, a pencil, and some crayons.

And I actually showed in a video of my old artworks a collection of fashion illustrations

I did using crayons.

So if you want to see more old drawings, just click the video in the "I" button.

Anyway, those were my materials before I was 12 – pieces of paper with printing on one

side and a black page on the other.

Around that time sure I wanted to have the art supplies that I'd see in bookstores

and art stores.

I wanted cool coloured pencils and scented water-based markers, but at the same time

I didn't really fuss on what I was using to draw.

I cared more about the fact that I was able to draw, because when I was really young drawing

wasn't really seen as a good thing in my family.

Sure it somehow gave my parents something to tell their friends like "hey my daughter

draws" this and that, but whenever I was drawing, it was somehow seen as something

I shouldn't do, because I should be focusing on studying – which makes sense.

But that affected the materials I had because obviously as a child, I didn't have control

on what things I could have.

I mean my parents bought everything for me.

So for a long time I was stuck with crayons for colouring materials – although I eventually

got coloured pencils and those fine tip water-based markers that were dupes of sharpies, as I

got older.

It wasn't until I was fourteen when I got really serious about my art and around that

time in 2009 we already moved here to Australia and I was just a two years into high school.

So my older brother and I would get $5 every week for school and I was saving for art materials

that I'd see at our local dollar shop which was actually conveniently located on the way

to our house.

So sometimes I'd go in and just browse.

And eventually for a while and even now I used and I still use dollar shop items because

that's when I discovered that art materials in some dollar shops are actually decent quality.

From then I'd keep saving money to buy more expensive art materials from art stores.

And when I was around 16, I earned money from my very first commission which if you don't

know what it is, it's basically when someone asks you to draw a picture for them and they

pay you.

So that helped me buy my entire Copic Ciao marker collection, which was very fortunate

for me.

Without that I probably wouldn't have been able to afford Copic markers at such an early

age.

And basically that became a staple in every YouTube video I'd make.

And the journey pretty much continues here.

Up until now I still use dollar shop items for art materials that I am using for the

first time or art materials that I am still getting used to.

And this goes back to the whole thing that I've talked about in previous videos, and

other artists have also talk about in their own videos, and still is pretty much an issue

for young artists or beginner artists.

I mean it doesn't really matter what art materials you use, as long as you focus on

learning the basics, and developing those skills.

The quality of art materials you use will usually only matter when you start to make

a living out of your art.

Artist quality materials offer longevity in the art you make, which is a big deal in the

art world, because as we know art can last longer than the artist and it tends to be

preserved or kept in it's original condition.

So if you're just starting out, and you see other artists using art materials that

are expensive, don't be discouraged because you're not using the same art materials.

I mean we all have to start somewhere, and starting with cheap art materials like a pencil

and scrap paper, or starting with expensive markers because you can afford it doesn't

really matter.

What matters is improving your skills, and upgrading your art materials can come later.

So I hope that makes sense.

But yeah!

That is it for this video.

I hope you enjoyed it.

If you did, please don't forget to give this video a thumbs up and subscribe for more

videos.

Also check out my social media links in the description box.

I've got Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and Tumblr.

And yeah!

Thank you so much for watching and I will see you in my next one!

Secret Twins & Travelling Home | Kate's Adventures - Duration: 5:11.

Good morning everybody! It is now Tuesday morning

and today is the day that I'm going back home.

So it's about 8.30? In the morning?

Yeah, 8.30am and I'm just about to go for breakfast.

My plans after that are basically to pack up the room.

I might film another video

before I go because this is a lovely space and I really think I could do that.

But ultimately the big objective of the day is to get home safely.

I've just made use of this awesome backdrop for another video for my channel.

Um, it was really good to just get the chance to create something while I'm waiting.

Certainly if I'm ever bored it's always good to make a video

and now it should probably be about time for me to pack up and go.

If I have any time left over I might do a little bit of editing before I go

but right now the room is a mess and I should probably take care of that first.

So I'm just going to tell you a quick story while I'm packing everything away

because it's almost time for me to leave but this is just a recent discovery that I've made.

Um, yesterday at the YouTube Space obviously we were just kind of hanging out

and the YouTube Space is the sort of thing where, if you're a creator of a certain size,

you can just come in and work, you can do that whenever.

So we were just kind of hanging out

in the kind of cafe area, which is the most casual bit,

people really can just come in and edit their videos.

So I was low-key thinking during the fire evacuation,

maybe there's cool people in the building, I don't know! You know, there's always a chance.

And it turns out

that there was a comedian sitting behind me

while I was cracking all the jokes about the fire alarm.

And he kind of- we were kind of back and forth joking

and that's kind of scary to me now, I feel like my sense of humour has been judged.

But yeah he's a cool guy, I've enjoyed his TED talk.

And that was a kind of weird thing that happened, there we go.

Anyways, I should probably finish packing

[ACOUSTIC GUITAR INSTRUMENTAL]

And that's how you pack up a hotel room.

I'm outside Kings Cross just now, it's about half an hour until the train.

I don't think I'm going to be upgrading to first class again

because it's very expensive apparently.

But I just had a weird experience inside that I just had to tell you about.

So I was walking past one of the time boards

and this woman was like calling out somebody's name, I think she was saying Katrina.

But because she was making a noise, I turned around

and she went "It is you! It's Diane. I'm going for the train."

I don't know this woman!

But apparently I look like somebody she knows so I had to kind of let her down gently

because she still didn't realize when I was talking to her that I didn't know who she was.

So that's a really weird thing that's happened,

apparently I have a doppelganger in the world somewhere.

If you're my doppelganger let me know, if you know my doppelganger, do let me know.

I probably should have asked for her details cause

maybe me and Katrina are long-lost twins, who knows?

So anyway there's that. It's a rather sunny afternoon in London

and I've just bought some food just in case I can't upgrade to first class

because it is going to be very expensive and it's always good to pack

before you go on the train. So yes, the next thing you might see

might be me travelling or maybe I'll meet somebody else who thinks I know them.

Hi folks! As you can probably see it's awfully dark outside,

I've been on this train for about...5 hours now maybe?

Not really too sure, I haven't been counting.

But that's me finally almost home.

So thank you very much for watching my adventures,

if you enjoyed them do please leave a comment and

share it and do whatever you want to do

and thank you very much for watching, cheerio!

It's just the last couple of items now that I need to get.

Just various things that I've left on charge throughout the room

I just had a moment there where I thought, "Where's my camera?"

but obviously it's still recording!

Discount Brokers Rankings and Reviews - Duration: 3:49.

Here is our review of the best online discount stock brokers.

If you are in the market for a broker, or just want to see how yours stacks up against

the rest, you will enjoy this video.

Check it out!

My team reviewed all the major discount stock brokers, and came up with various criteria

to rank each one.

Here is what my team did for this broker report - I say "my team," because I actually was

not personally involved in this research.

Before we dive in, I always like to thank you guys for your support.

You are awesome, and we are committed to helping you profit from penny stocks.

That is what this YT channel is all about, so please subscribe, and tell 75 others to

exactly the same, then report back to me!

So anyway, my team would phone the discount brokers and they pretended to be inexperienced

investors.

They called back later under different cover, and were very clear that they were from PeterLeeds.com,

and needed to ask specific questions for our report.

Then, they did the same thing with emails - they pretended to be a new investor asking

beginner-level questions, and a few days later they emailed again under different names,

from PeterLeeds.com, asking for very specific comments and about various policies.

We also reviewed each broker's policies and procedures - my team looked at things like

how good their online tools were, their commission rates, and how much money was needed to open

an account.

Then they analyzed the data, and came up with their report on the brokers.

Of course, everyone is different, so what is important to one person my be very different

from the aspects which matter most to somebody else.

Which broker is best for you will depend on your own specific investment needs.

So for example if you have $50,000 to invest... you probably don't care if the minimum to

open an account is $3,000.

However, if you only have $600, you might be focused more on account minimums, low commissions,

or getting a certain number of commission-free trades, for example.

You are going to have to decide for yourself which aspects of the discount brokers matter

most to you.

That is why it is impossible to answer the most common question we get about this report

- specifically, "which broker the best one?"

My team compiled all their findings, and put together all the details into a big, beautiful

infographic.

That report is available at PeterLeeds.com in the infographic section, and it will tell

you each broker's minimum requirement for opening an account, how much they charge you

per trade, the quality of their customer service, and even reviews some of their online platforms

and tools.

Since we are penny stock investors first and foremost, we took some extra time looking

into their policies and procedures surrounding lower-priced investments.

Some brokers do not allow for trades in penny stocks at all, while others will charge you

an additional commission (on top of their usual fee) for penny stock trades.

Meanwhile, some brokers will not treat stocks any differently, whether the shares trade

for 10 cents, or $10.

As well, there are some brokers who are very good at getting back to you, and answering

your e-mails or phone calls, while others were just terrible.

All of this is included in our findings.

We would email some which never even responded at all, or if they did, it would be several

days later.

So, if you need help with your trades, or are a beginning investor, these less-responsive

choices should probably be avoided.

So, decide for yourself what's best for your needs, then take a look at the online discount

broker rankings which we've compiled.

My team did a great and thorough job, and I expect you will benefit from their findings!

Let us know which broker you use, in the comment fields below.

Tell all of us what you like about them, and where do they fall short?

$200 BACON CHALLENGE - Duration: 7:59.

- This is the $200 bacon challenge, Super Bowl

pregame edition.

Go.

(electronic music)

- [Woman On Phone] Thank you for calling Deli Meats,

this is Terry, how can I help you?

- Yeah, I need to place a large to go order.

- $100 worth of bacon.

- [Woman On Phone] 'Scuse me?

- $100 worth of bacon.

- [Woman On Phone] $100 worth of bacon?

- Actually, that sounds really good,

I'll have the same.

(whistle blowing)

So, a couple of years ago, AJ and I did an eating

challenge that we called the 200 McNugget challenge fail.

AJ did eat more than I did.

I think we can both agree that was fluke.

Though I've been waiting for a rematch challenge.

We're just getting $200 worth of bacon.

You know, this is redemption for me.

This is an opportunity to show the world

that I can eat more meat than my son,

that sounded wrong.

First of all, I don't even know how much bacon

I can eat.

I have no idea how to gage this.

- There's no amount of bacon I can't eat.

- But actually, before we do this, I think we need

to make a quick stop.

(whistle blowing)

Eating this much bacon can't be healthy for you.

Oh.

I'm, like, pre-hypertension.

Oh, you're fine, dude.

(whistle blowing)

So, my numbers show me as pre-hypertension.

And AJ's numbers show him as invincible.

He's gonna live forever.

(whistle blowing)

- Oh.

(whistle blowing)

- [Josh] Back fired.

- Oh.

- Youth.

(whistle blowing)

(energetic music)

(whistle blowing)

Let's look at what $200 worth of bacon

actually looks like.

- Well, I was excited about this 'til this point.

- Are you ready?

Go.

Oh, there goes our napkins.

Oh, man, this is good.

Piece one, so far, so good.

Mmm.

One down.

This doesn't even weight that much.

I've eaten burritos that, get outta mine,

get your own bacon. (whistle blowing)

Why are you taking my bacon.

- I don't have enough.

I don't like this,

- You don't like the taste of this bacon?

- [Mom] You already don't like it?

- You know, I've heard the term breakfast

of champions thrown around really loosely,

I'm gonna say that again.

You know, I've hear the term breakfast of champions

thrown around loosely.

- I'm gonna say it one more time.

You know, I've hear the term breakfast of champions

thrown around loosely.

- Can you get one good take?

You know, I've heard the term

- [Both] Breakfast of champions.

- This one's gettin' rolled up into a ball.

I'm takin' this one down whole.

Hmm.

This is a double, this is a double bacon bite right here.

Bacon wrapped bacon.

This is American right here.

America's about football and bacon and funniest videos.

Oh, look at that grease.

Oh, my god.

I wish I had one of those bacon milkshakes.

I think I'm on piece number 30 here.

- I feel like the only way to make progress,

that I would see, is if I just started getting

handfuls of bacon.

- Do it.

- If I just really tried to go for it.

- Oh, god.

- Every bite I take, it just tastes worse.

Ugh.

- What's killing me right now is the salt.

Do you think anyone has ever successfully eaten

100 pieces of bacon in one sitting?

(whistle blowing)

- If I squeeze you, will you throw up?

- No.

Ugh.

(Josh laughing)

(whistle blowing)

- No, all right.

I'm giving you back that piece

that I took from your pile, earlier.

- Great.

- What in the world?

- What?

(whistle blowing)

- [Mom] Do I see the bottom of his plate?

- Cause he just threw like 18 pieces in mine.

- [Mom] Oh, AJ, good job.

- I threw like two pieces, or three pieces.

- [Mom] You've done so much.

- I have eaten so much more than he has,

do not praise him.

I need the praise.

It's so salty.

I feel like I'm just chewing on the ocean right now.

(all laughing)

it's like if ocean were meat.

That's what I'm eating.

So, fish?

(all laughing)

This was a bad idea.

Who keeps putting me up to this?

All right, I know that some of your bacon is down here,

but I'm curious how much I've got here.

No, I'm counting.

- Seven.

Nine.

13.

22.

- Great, that was science.

- How was that?

- This actually tastes really good.

(whistle blowing)

This tastes so much better than what I've been eating.

(AJ slapping)

Ugh!

(whistle blowing)

(Josh laughing)

Ow.

Oh.

(whistle blowing)

I just got pork flogged.

All right, I'm done.

- [Mom] You wanna share with--

(buzzer buzzing)

- This is the filmy garbage at the bottom.

Look, is that like was the bacon eating away

at the styrofoam?

Is that what' it's doing to the lining of my stomach

right now?

I think I still enjoyed the first 20 pieces.

There's some fuzzy math, though.

If that was really only 100 pieces,

My napkins went away.

I've gotta chase those down.

No, I don't wanna litter.

Oh, moving was a bad idea.

I don't know.

I feel like the pow should got way smaller.

-Oh, god. -It's down.

I'm in the normal.

All my numbers are improved now, after eating

all that bacon, so, proof that bacon is good for you.

- Now, I'm pre-hypertension.

- His systolic pressure went up.

He was way down at like 112.

- Welp, it's time to get out of here.

(thud)

- So, with our bellies full of bacon,

AJ and I are gonna race to the other side

of this field and back just to see who's

in better physical condition.

Are you ready AJ?

- Mm-Hmm.

- Three, two, one, go.

(epic music)

(AJ yells)

(Mom gasps)

(electronic music)

Goodgame Empire - The Ethics of Glory Boosting - Duration: 6:38.

Hello everyone, I'm Breor, and welcome back to Goodgame Empire.

In today's video I would like to open up a discussion with you regarding GLORY BOOSTING,

so first let me explain what that is.

GLORY BOOSTING is the practice by which players arrange attacks with their allies (or upon

castles that they own) in order to make a ton of glory per hit.

I'll be collecting some examples from the forums to put up on the screen before you

right now.

Arranging something like this is fairly simple, so let me give you an example of how it might

be done.

Let's say we have a hypothetical alliance called "The Brothers," and that one of

their sub alliances is called "The Sisters".

The Brothers want to earn a top position in the Alliance Tournament, a competition in

which alliances compete to earn glory points.

However, they are having a lot of difficulty earning glory points the traditional way,

by attacking other players, because these players are either opening their gates or

wasting their tools with fire castellan defenses.

The Brothers decide that they could guarantee a lot of glory points if they were to arrange

an attack against their own sub alliance.

The members of The Sisters are informed of this plan and are asked to send a lot of support

to a certain player named sub4sub.

*laughs* Oh dear.

Sub4sub sets his castle to a horrible defense setup, taking defense tools off of his walls

and defense equipment off of his castellan.

The castle of sub4sub now has a weak defense but fifteen thousand troops which could be

slaughtered by the attack of a 6th-wave player from The Brothers.

The result is a report like one of these.

There are various things that can be done to get every point of glory out of one of

these attacks.

The Brothers could declare war on The Sisters and then purchase an hour-long glory bonus

from the alliance funds panel.

The Brothers could win the Storm Islands event and assign the dishonorable title "the Weak"

to sub4sub.

This title increases the glory and loot attackers get.

Because The Brothers know sub4sub won't change his defense setup, they can send lots

of glory flags without risking them to be wasted.

The dominant opinion seems to be that GLORY BOOSTING is unethical in the game, and there

have been a great number of recent posts in the forum about this matter.

One of the leaders of a powerful alliance here in USA1 started a thread by saying this:

"Boosting is for the weak, simple as that.

It takes no skill only people willing to sit down and do nothing but recruit.

If you consider that fun then yay for you but there are those of us who would rather

launch and defend.

Play the game the way it was meant to be played."

Another player responded by saying:

"All proven boosting alliances will be declared on by us.

No excuses, no second chances.

If you're that sad of a person to cheat to win, I don't want you on my server."

Another player said:

"It's a sad, pathetic way to win an event.

If alliances can't provide evidence of glory hits that relate to their accumulated glory,

they should be declared upon."

You're welcome to search for these posts on your own, and you will find them if you're

inclined, but I've chosen to omit the names because I really don't have any personal

problems with these players.

I do disagree with them, though.

The commotion eventually garnered the attention of a community manager, who had this to say:

"This kind of boosting is not technically against the rules, but I have to agree that

it is a super sad way to win in the game.

Maybe this is something that needs to be looked at more closely by the game team to see what

we can do about getting it out of the game."

I personally have never participated in a glory boost.

Until recently I only had four waves of attack, which meant that I wouldn't have been a

very good candidate to serve as the attacker.

While I was asked to sacrifice some of my defenders to make a hit possible, I don't

believe I ever got around to doing so.

With that being said, I have seen them happen and I have been the beneficiary of a few in

that they helped my former alliance win more alliance rewards.

As many of you probably know, my former alliance was KoN2, but this video isn't about them

either.

Take a look at the current top alliances in the glory tournament.

How many of them do you think have boosted to get where they are?

All of them?

GLORY BOOSTING is now pretty much a universal practice amongst the bigger alliances, and

I think there are a few valid reasons for this.

It has become difficult to earn glory in the traditional manner because more players than

ever are equipped with fire castellans, meaning they have no reason to defend.

The defender using a fire castellan does mean that the attacker would lose all of his glory

banners, so some considerate players will instead open their gates in surrender.

Either way, however, it's tough to score glory when conducting regular PVP.

GLORY BOOSTING is not against the stated rules of the game, even if players were not intended

to do it.

I think the developer also intended for players to fight continuously for control over resource

villages, but that is frowned on by the community as well, so we don't do it.

Finally, the developers made GLORY BOOSTING even more attractive and possible when they

introduced such features as the glory bonus button in the alliance funds.

One of the comments I read suggested that alliances should be required to provide documentation

to show that all of their attacks were done the legitimate way.

While there's more to the comment, there's nothing to indicate this part of it is sarcastic,

but it is (of course) a silly idea.

There are some problems I am readily willing to acknowledge about GLORY BOOSTING, however,

and this video would fall short of my audience's expectations if I failed to mention them.

Problems arise when the account being attacked belongs to the user who is doing the attacking.

Multi-accounting is explicitly against the rules of the game, and, as I've mentioned

in the past here on this channel, it's also a bad practice for alliance security and single-account

development.

The other problem that I can think of is that GLORY BOOSTING does destroy the competitive

aspect of the alliance tournament.

The alliance tournament offers some of the best prizes in the game, and players who BOOST

will be more successful than the players who work really hard doing it the traditional

way.

I think that Goodgame Studios probably won't be able to do anything to correct this perceived

problem in the future, but they may have dug their own hole when they introduced fire castellans

into the game.

As for GLORY BOOSTING on the whole, I imagine most of you will disagree with me, and so

I welcome you to post your thoughts in the comments section below.

My own views do not necessarily represent those of my alliance.

Thanks for watching, I've been Breor, and have a good day.

…support to a certain player named sub4sub.

*laughs* Oh dear.

Yet Another Media Meltdown Turns Out To Be Totally Wrong - Duration: 2:22.

Yet Another Media Meltdown Turns Out To Be Totally Wrong.

BY RYAN PICKRELL.

News that President Donald Trump was easing sanctions against Russia was refuted almost

immediately, like so many other stories.

The Department of the Treasury said Thursday that it would allow U.S. companies to make

limited transactions with the Federal Security Service (FSB), Russias intelligence agency.

Possibly eager to establish a connection between the new U.S. president and Russia, numerous

media outlets and journalists were quick to claim that Trump was easing, and even lifting,

sanctions against Russia.

I havent eased anything, Trump told reporters at the White House Thursday.

Were not easing sanctions, White House Press Secretary Sean Spicer confirmed,

saying that, It is a regular course of action.

As it turns out, the move was a technical fix planned by the Obama administration.

Our understanding is that this is not the start of sanctions easing, Ian Bremmer,

president of the consulting firm Eurasia Group told reporters.

Its a rule change clearing up a problem with the sanctions regime that prevented U.S.

exporters of non-sanctioned electronic devices from complying with both U.S. and Russian

law. The problem was identified by the Obama administration, and this appears to be the

response to address it.

Even Arizona Sen. John McCain, who has called for tougher sanctions on Russia, agreed that

Thursdays move was largely a technical fix.

The media whirlwind that followed the Treasury Departments actions proved unjustified

almost instantaneously.

The media has missed the mark several times, and the present situation perfectly exemplifies

the problem. A pattern is now emerging: headlines strike in a matter of hours, followed by the

release of information contradicting the initial reports.

Concerning Trumps recent immigration order:

Regarding the Supreme Court pick

iPhone 7 Plus Spigen Hybrid Armor - Duration: 9:04.

Hi guys this is Tech Zilla back again with an

iphone 7 plus case review this is a newer

case from Spigen and this hasn't been out for a

very long time and it's actually a

hybrid armor case which i really really

like it's probably my favorite iphone 7

plus case this one out of all the Spigen

range usual packaging you all know what

spigens packaging looks like that black

and orange usual stuff installation etc

etc dual layered its a dual layered case aswell this

one anyway let's get this out of the box

i have been using it i just reboxed it for

you guys to get that brand-new feeling take this

out and the way you are meant to apply this

is by taking separating the two parts so

i'll show you that in a little bit

there's a nice part there that covers the

apple logo so you can still see the logo

through there but you won't damage it you

won't get it scratched up which is

something I love and what I've actually

done with this case is I've actually

modified it i've put in one of the Spigen

metal plates in here that you can pick

up from amazon i'll leave links in the

description if you want the reason i've

included that is it gives you that you

can use the magnetic card holder with

this case so i put that on the inside so

let's separate this out real quick and

I'll get it on the phone that way you can

see what it looks like

take this off this is a clear but

is actually more of a smoky color smoky

clear this one there's the metal plate

i've stuck onto the hard shell part inside

here so lets drop the phone in there

this is a new case the carbon shield by

poetic so check out my review of this if you haven't

already i'm gonna review their entire lineup

in one video poetic definitely worth a

look

so slip this on like this and then

you're supposed to hook it in like that and

then push the case on the edges like that

that's it its done all done beautiful

now check this case out guys

make sure theres no dust in there, no that's fine now

lets start off with lay on the table

yes you have got some there just enough

and i have a thick glass screen protector

on so problems at all no problems and

because this is actually a smoky color

with the matte black or the even the jet

black iphone 7 or 7 pluses it looks much

nicer because its smoky and it won't get

that horrible yellow tint like you do with the

crystal clear ones nicely done so lay on

the table design plenty there's the top

part there and see that yourself

nothing there this side you got your power

button very hear that click beautiful

really functional works beautifully the

bottom look at that cut outs you got

there for your mic charging ports a big

cut out speaker grill

this side your volume rockers beautiful

work perfectly and you can get to that

without a fingernail the mute switch

well actually I tell a lie you might

need a fingernail to bring it back down the

back of it now this is the part I really

like you see the apple logo you can see

it through there because everyone likes to

show off that they have an iphone or an apple

product but because it has that plastic layer

over it was little dots it doesn't

give you that horrible rainbow effect and

it stops dust and it stops anything

scratching up your logo really really

nice i love the way they've done that

look at that beautiful nice cut out there and

the edges here for the camera are beveled

and very recessed so it's not going to get

damaged when you lay it on its back and

because it's beveled when the flash

fires and everything it will fire it

outwards rather than bounce it back into

the lens and i have tested it works fine

spigen branding right there that's

etched into the back of the hard plastic

shell and i love this matte finish that is

beautiful look at that it doesn't really pick

up fingerprints it picks it up a little bit every

case will but look i've got really greasy hands at the

moment and look at that beautiful

beautiful and i think this is about £15

but i'll leave a link in the

description where i bought it from use that

link because he gives you the cheapest

price at the time its important guys get it

at its best value but grip nice grip

because its a matte finish its not slippery in

hand nice protection because i put the

metal plate in here as well you notice

its not bulging on the edges there is no

sort of bulge here its Spigens own

plate you see that

thats still smooth the way that joins

and with the top still nice the way it

fits and its right there the metal plate let me try

and bring i'm bringing in a couple of things here

let me bring in the dock

and i'll bring in a magnetic car holder so you guys

can see what I'm talking about

so put that down

look at that see i had to shake the hell

out of it to get it off

look in the car that ain't going no where so

its worth while picking up the plate as well

if you haven't already got any worth it

and let's do the final test the

lightning dock and no issue there

perfect perfect fit look at that

absolute perfection it works a treat

beautiful beautiful hundred percent

i recommend this case

excellent value for money a definite

thumbs-up to Spigen from me definitely guys

you did a good job with this case

beautiful absolutely beautiful love this

case love this case and shout out to

bare with me guys I want to do a quick

shout out here and i just need to bring up

something real quick don't worry i'm still here

shout out to Sylvain Alain from the

tech talk

well from he is from one of my telegram

forums a couple of them he put me onto

this case he asked me to get this and

review it and thumbs up to you Sylvain

If they hide like this that is very bad! Do not let it continue....wait until around 3:00 then you can see him ....

Very darty and and in full hiding... We are going to let these changes set and monitor the fish.....

Viagem Surpresa a Bruxelas - With Subs - Duration: 7:25.

Good morning

Today we are going to brussels, to surprise a friend of ours, Cláudio

He is already there with his girlfriend and a friend

Apparently he is clueless

And I hope he will be thrilled when he sees us, later, at the restaurant

I already packed, cleaned the house and still have to do some stuff

Then we can go on our way by car

While I am waiting for Ricardo,

I've decided to bring two things

We had the idea to capture people's reaction trying Dutch treats

Not specifically sweets, in these case we want to see a intense reaction

And here they have the habit of eating Drop

Drop are generally black gummies, sometimes brown

That are usually salty, can also be sweet but they really like the salted ones

This ones

Or this

They are both salty and one is salty and salmiak

I don't know how to translate salmiak, but there are some lollipops

That are sweet on the outside and inside they are salty

Can't explain, it's terrible

And we want to record our family and friends reaction trying this

But it wouldn't be fair if we wouldn't try as well

So when Ricardo arrives we will try it.

I know I won't like it, already tried it

Discussing

Just the smell of this

Even the smell is bad

This smells Ok

It´s not terrible

It's not good

But it's not terrible

It's bad...

It get's worse, the more you chew the worse it gets

Super good, the Dutch like really good stuff

Next it's this one

Cheers

I think Salmiak is less bad

I mean, it's not fantastic but

Its horrible

Vera wanted to buy two packs, now we gotta eat them

I'll give it to my colleagues, they like this crap

May I throw it away?

No, now you have to eat it!

Anything for the vlog...

You have to look into the camera

Disgusting

Super tasty

Wish us a safe trip

We just arrived and parked the car

We will go to the apartment to put our stuff

Then we'll go for diner where we will have the surpriiiiiisseeeee...

Hello Vera's cute friends

We are waiting for Cláudio

Let's see his reaction

What are you doing here??

Our friends will now try drop

Salt and Salmiak

I am confused, salt is a flavor?!

Dig in

And give us feedback

Isn't it supposed to be sweet?

Eat it all

Why are we eating this?

Collect reactions

It tastes like coughing medicine

But with salt on top

They really like it

I ate worse but...

The outside is the worst

This is terrible and I hate this

Is this coughing medicine?

In Sweden they eat this and love this crap, they love this

Is there anything tasty?

I thought I would be offered a joint or so...

After you can eat a stroopwafel (syrup cookie)

Can we go straight to the cookie?

No

Yeah bottom is caramel like

Yeah, the bottom is edible but the top part...

Goddamn dutch people!!

Salty

This is a good ting

Diário de Bordas | Nosso mundo de cabeça pra baixo - Duration: 54:50.

My name is César. I'm 15 years old.

I hope to dive well and win the Desafio Noturno,

which is the year's first competition.

The silver medal goes to Hugo Parisi!

I wouldn't trade diving for anything.

Diving is my life.

You grab the tips of your fingers.

You push your palm out towards the water.

Tammy Pereira!

I'll keep on training

to give diving everything I've still got.

DIARIES FROM THE EDGE

No one can prepare an athlete for the Olympic Games.

There's no such thing as an easygoing day for us.

We're always standing on the edge of a cliff,

always facing our fear.

You could execute an excellent dive,

just as you could get a zero on it instead,

but everyone will know you based on those three seconds.

Our routine rhythm isn't like "one, two, three, four".

It's more like: "One! Two!"

We go through each rep like it's our last.

Some athletes might do better in a competition setting.

Like we always say, athletes aren't machines.

They're human beings.

We know that if we get under their skin,

if we really push their buttons and get them pissed off at us,

they might grow from that.

Sports in general teach us so much

about bouncing back from a loss.

When I botch a dive,

I give myself no longer than 30 seconds

to dwell on it.

After 30 seconds, let it go 'cause it's no use.

Time to focus to the next one.

I find that a metaphor, mirroring life itself.

We all have our sob stories.

The difference is what each of us does about it.

Regardless of your life story or where you came from,

what matters is the goal you're striving towards.

We're working hard to get to the Olympics

in the best shape possible

from a physical and technical standpoint.

So that we can compete on equal footing

and be in the running for medals

in the world's greatest sporting event.

It's a knockdown, drag-out fight.

We have talented athletes

and some very experienced athletes.

Hugo, César and Juliana,

who are very focused and determined.

A huge landmark moment for me

was Brazil's first medal in diving, in 2003.

A silver medal on the ten-meter platform.

The Olympic final in Athens was hugely important

'cause it was the first time in 52 years, back then,

that a Brazilian made it to the finals.

So that was huge.

Today, thank God,

I take great pride in saying I'll be representing Brazil

in my fourth Olympics.

This new generation coming in full of energy

has the benefit

of the fruits of the labor of more experienced divers

They have better diving conditions.

They have yet to grasp the true cost of victory

so I feel that these Olympics, in that sense,

will be a big learning experience for them.

They'll realize that winning takes a whole lot more.

BRASILIA: MAY 2016

A dive is composed of several elements

and we break those elements down

to work on each one separately.

Before they get to the water to execute the dive, per se,

the diver is in the gym

working on their posture, their coordination,

the position they'll be in while in midair,

the come-out...

Then we put all the elements together on the trampoline,

which is where they work on technique.

Drilling these repetitions gives them courage

and then we take it to the pool.

The difference on the trampoline

is that we remove the factors of fear and height,

allowing the athletes to develop tighter technique.

In the time it takes to hit one dive in the pool,

they can do ten repetitions on the trampoline.

The final step is the pool training.

Luiz, a little more confidence on the hurdle.

You're getting too much height

and keeping your shoulders too far back.

Sometimes it feels like I just won't make it.

Y'know when you practice a dive for a solid week

and continue making the same mistake?

Extension.

Quit stopping mid-attempt, Luiz.

I'm supposed to keep my arms like this,

but I put them here instead.

"Okay, I'll extend them properly this time," you think.

But then you do it the same way.

At one point, you feel like it's not happening.

My arms just won't do it.

Desperation starts to sink in.

Extend! That's it!

Did you feel that height?

I got them aligned, but still a little low.

Lord almighty!

Why didn't I choose table tennis instead?

Forward, forward!

Right as we hit the water,

we already have a pretty good idea

of whether it was a good dive or not.

We're so familiar with the execution,

even the ideal rip entry,

that we can tell precisely

if we were short on our rotations

or if we were late in our come-out.

See?

He tends to project his chest forward a bit.

Since you know that will inevitably happen,

you can hit the edge standing straight

and you'll still get there.

The dive itself happens very quickly.

In the span of one and a half, maybe two seconds at most,

we've executed a dive from start to finish.

In that second and a half,

a lot of things flash through our head.

We fix a lot of problems in midair.

The key thing that sets us apart

is our day-to-day training.

In the process of outlining our training,

we establish our targets and objectives

and over the course of our day-to-day routine,

a measure of friction and disagreement is natural.

Before we started working as a synchronized pair,

we were already great friends, and that helped us.

We're not on speaking terms right now,

but that happens.

It's strictly professional between us now,

but we were once great friends.

I slept over at her place and called her mom "aunt".

I still do, actually,

and I'm very fond of her sister and her dad too.

But when it's time to dive,

if we're out of sync on any given motion,

we talk it through to get it fixed.

It does take synergy to dive together.

Since they first started diving together,

this isn't the first time they've butted heads.

Ale and I work with them.

I do my part

and Ale does his part with Giovana

and we confer with each other as coaches,

but we talk to them too.

I can't ask something of just one of them.

"Why are you talking to her, and not me too?"

We put this pair together

because they have a good rapport

and because they're compatible

in terms of strength, flexibility andcharacter.

They're both tough girls too.

All the traits which led us to pair them up together

were strong traits

which we knew would yield good chemistry

and good results, as we've seen over time.

Hugo has been suffering from severe chronic back pain.

This sometimes prevents him from training effectively.

It does hinder his training.

The doctor instructed him to undergo a procedure

but his health plan wouldn't clear it.

We must be very good about dealing with it

because that recovery period is very tough for athletes.

After all, athletes are happy

when they're out there competing.

There's visualization training

which we employ very frequently

to get synesthetic movements imprinted in his brain

such that during training,

he's better prepared, better programmed

with those movements in his short-term memory.

That aids their execution.

First, we work on concentration exercises

to narrow his focus.

Then he moves on to coherence

and lastly, visualization

which consists of the ritual he goes through

during competitions and in his day-to-day routine.

You did great here.

Your attention score was very high.

Really, really good.

Now is not the time for rest.

I can't rest now.

I have to fight through the pain,

keep my head up and compete.

Hugo has been diving

for longer than I've been alive.

At first, I could sense the gap between us

in terms of age, experience

the contacts he's made and his approach to the sport.

He's way more developed than me in that sense

'cause I'm still growing and finding my footing.

Jackson had an accident along the way.

A rather serious accident.

I was working with Hugo on our synchronized swimming.

There's a foam pool at our gym,

but the edges of the pool are concrete.

We were practicing a forward double somersault.

I was one-and-a-half rotations into it

when I hit my forehead on the concrete edge.

I cracked both sides of my face, along with my nose.

It was a skull fracture.

They told me the earliest I might possibly come back

would be three weeks before the Olympics.

I'm definitely confident with regards to my recovery

and everything I'm doing these days,

but I'm still taking it one day at a time

before I get to that one day in which I say:

"I'm past all of that, and I'm good to go today."

I can still see through

everything I've committed myself to fulfilling

over the past six years of my life.

He's being tested every two weeks

in order to chart his recovery.

Over these past two weeks,

we'd pushed him a bit harder in training

and he experienced some headaches

so we wondered if we pushed him too hard.

"Is he experiencing a setback?"

Forward, forward!

Nice.

Tammy, good hurdle and nice use of the board.

That was a good dive.

Trust your finish.

Don't hit your come-out thinking: "God, I'm screwed!"

Trust your finish and nail the dive.

If you don't trust it, you'll enter the water,

but you won't nail the dive.

Good take-off.

They're all coming out like that!

We've worked as a pair for nearly ten years now.

Just the other day, she came up to me and said:

"Damn, Tammy! Check out what I dug up!"

It was a bit in the newspaper from when I was ten,

with her by my side on the other board.

My goodness! It's been so long!

Ever since I took up diving, she's been there with me.

Naturally, I've always looked up to her as an idol

and as someone who lived it all.

It was even tougher for divers in those days.

-Double, right? -Yeah.

-Okay? -Go.

One, two and go.

Square up on your hips, otherwise you lose control

and you get out of sync.

I always feel like I can do better.

Sometimes I do three reps for each dive

and I hit all three of them,

but I still feel like it wasn't good enough.

That I could do better.

I suffered an injury

because I refuse to go easy on my weight lifting.

Even when I'm tired, I still feel like I can do it.

So I did mess up on my training intensity,

but I don't regret overdoing it.

I'd rather overdo it

and then think "I should've cut it short"

than think "man, I should've trained harder"

and still feel okay when I get home.

No, I have to get home like this!

Like I can't take it anymore.

That's how my head works, I guess.

A great friend of mine is a former Olympic champion

and is now the head coach for the Swedish national team.

She's currently visiting facilities in Rio de Janeiro.

She took one look and said:

"Wait, this is where you train?"

"Yup," I said. "From the day I was born."

"You were shaped as an athlete in these conditions?"

"Yeah," I replied. "I was."

So she said: "I'm even prouder of you now."

She saw that for a long while,

there had been little support for diving in Brazil.

It doesn't even cross their minds

that athletes of our caliber

might lack such basic infrastructure.

A diver's training is meticulously planned out.

First and foremost,

our most crucial asset is the gym,

where we conduct 70% of a diver's preparation.

It's where we develop all of a diver's training,

all of our strategies and dives

to reach our target level

before we take their training to the water.

The biggest problem not only in Brazilian diving,

but in all of our national-level sports,

is basic infrastructure.

Today, we have a facility in Brasília

and another one in Rio de Janeiro.

We had one at the Maracanã, but it was torn down.

The Julio de Lamare Center used to hold swimming classes.

Our synchronized swimming team trained there as well,

along with the diving team.

They worked with people with disabilities

and kids afflicted with Down's syndrome.

Nowadays, however, the pools remain abandoned.

The gym, which represented a huge investment,

has been torn down.

It was money dumped in the trash

and the facilities are no longer in use.

I came to Rio in 2009

planning on training there until 2016

but in 2013, I was forced to leave

because the pool was shut down.

In a city such as Rio,

which would be hosting the Olympics,

it would be nice for the event to leave a lasting legacy

such as a pool for our training and beyond,

but it wasn't meant to be.

We were forced to relocate

and that situation brought me to Atlanta.

It was a very delicate moment in my career.

I chose to come to Athens

due to their tremendous infrastructure.

I train over there, then lift weights here.

Also, the university's dining hall

is a five-minute walk from here.

In this short radius, then, I have practically all I need.

That's what sets it apart for me.

I don't have to drive 20 minutes to a gym.

Also, I live pretty close by, five minutes away.

This proximity to everything was very important to me.

It was Dan who brought me here.

Having the right coach

is very important for all of our preparation,

and we'd been friends for five years already.

It's not a dive with a high degree of difficulty,

but I make up for that with a good entry.

I practice to get my entry close to perfect

to get a higher score

than guys who attempt more difficult dives.

I might not have a back 3.5 somersault in me,

but I can manage an 8.5 or 9 on a back 2.5 somersault

with a really nice entry

and that's the approach I chose.

Biochemistry represents the highest level

of detail-oriented analysis for my training.

I started working with Cameron a few years back.

Based on an extremely precise blood analysis,

taking blood samples before training,

after training

and during my recovery on the day after

in a period of fasting,

he can tell what goes on in my body

during the stress conditions of everyday training,

and I'll make use of those results

to help me in the Olympics.

Our work consists of sports-oriented studies,*

a scientific methodology which aims to understand

changes in an athlete's metabolism and signaling

during exercise.

What we try to do

is teach ways or provide the means

for an athlete to regulate his own motor.

In other words, we inform them

about what's going on at the cellular level

and how the athlete's organism

is responding to those stimuli.

I learned a lot from the studies.

When I first get here in the morning, I'm at 100%.

After the morning practice, my body is at 40%.

If I get an hour and a half of rest,

I'll be at 70% for the afternoon practice,

but if I rest instead for two and a half hours,

then I get back to 95%.

Apart from that,

what sort of food can help me recover more quickly?

The upper limit for total athletes

competing at diving events in the Olympics

is 136 athletes, covering all of the events.

On individual events, an athlete gets 5 dives

with a degree of difficulty of their choosing.

She made the transition from junior to adult diver.

Junior divers get four freestyle dives,

rather than five,

so when the Pan Am Games came up, we ran out of time

and chose for her fifth dive

the back 2.5 somersault in pike position.

She got jittery since the dive was new to her

and hit her come-out too soon.

It was an indoor pool too,

while we're used to open-air pools,

so a number of factors came into play.

There was a certain stigmatization, y'know?

First there was that picture which caused an uproar

because she's a beautiful girl

and because people love to get worked up in a frenzy

and draw attention to themselves.

Then, she botched a dive and got a zero

which led to people questioning

whether she was there as a legit athlete

or mere eye candy.

What is she doing there?

She got a lot of criticism on social media

and every time she went up for that one dive,

that all came flashing back and she froze up.

Even when she did hit the dive, it went poorly.

In training, at times I fell flat on my back

while other times I nailed the dive.

In the Pan Am Games, I counted: "One, two."

I hit my come-out,

but I sensed that my legs weren't going up

so I bent my legs, but that got me a zero.

Traditionally speaking, a large majority of athletes

tend to have very rough upbringings.

Therefore, you need a very deft hand

in knowing when to chastise and when to comfort them,

otherwise you could lose that athlete.

Trust it!

I saw that you tried,

but you were slow in locking your hands.

It needs to be quick.

Get into position right out of the jump.

Get used to that grip so you get that rip entry.

You're jumping high enough to do it.

An athlete might do well in one competition

and poorly in another one just a week later.

If they don't have the mental fortitude it takes

to deal with those situations,

they'll crack under the pressure.

You've got the right angles, but you need more thrust.

You're relying too much on just the lead leg.

This is my toughest dive

and if I'm tired or not feeling well,

I struggle to hit it properly, or even hit it at all.

Sometimes when I'm up there,

a lot of bad thoughts flood into my head.

"God, if I botch this one bit I'm doomed!"

I'd say that this is her best dive,

but I'm not so good at it.

You need to be strong and deal with the pressure.

I joke with my athletes and tell them

that pressure must be your friend.

If you can deal well with the pressure,

then you won't let the fear take over.

There's always fear, particularly in diving.

She's very sluggish today.

Put your hips into the hurdle.

BOLZANO, ITALY: DIVING GRAND PRIX

This is our last competition before the Olympics.

The Italian stop in the Diving Grand Prix.

Everyone's expectations are sky high.

Competing in this event is very important

to help calm everyone's anxiety

so that we can finally focus exclusively on the Olympics.

The pool is super cold.

Apart from the cold water and cold breeze,

I'll attempt the same series I've set for the Olympics

so this should be a good test to help me adapt.

You clammed up after you hit the edge.

Propel yourself forward.

You can't move. Just push off.

What do you do after the come-out here?

I know, it has to be like this.

You have to straighten out and then tuck your arms in.

You're not using your hips.

They're still too far forward. You need to be quick.

Last one.

Your legs went a bit limp.

If you'd kept them tight, you would've nailed it.

All the same, good one.

Arms first.

You tucked your head in.

All that's missing is working up the nerve

to replicate that in the pool.

Let's not repeat it, or else it won't work.

You either twist or push your hips out.

First you take off properly, and then you twist.

Here's what your dad said. Listen up.

You need to use your hips to get a proper take off.

If your butt comes up here, you'll stay in place, right?

If you keep your head out in front,

you'll get better balance

and your butt will come out this way

which will allow you to rotate outwards, not inwards.

The most crucial thing for the athletes here

was getting into competition rhythm.

They hadn't taken part in international competitions

since February,

and hadn't felt those butterflies

that come from being next to Olympic medalists.

The time has come

to see if we managed to adapt properly.

Now comes the real test.

I was nervous today.

It had been a while since I got nervous like that.

That dive has your lowest degree of difficulty.

You have to learn not to get so close to the edge

because if that happens up there,

you'll jump off without knowing what to do.

I'm not happy about it

because that mistake is easily correctable

and one which I wasn't making before.

Meanwhile, my toughest dive,

which I hadn't hit even once here,

ended up being my best.

It's a different vibe when it's a competition.

You dig deep and find strength you didn't know you had.

Tania has always been number one.

Francesca is only competing in the synchronized events.

They're both always there at the podium.

They always win medals in the World Series.

Always in the top five.

That's why they have a legitimate shot

at Olympic medals in the synchronized events.

One, two and go.

It's done, and there's nothing we can do.

Naturally, each of us reflects upon our mistakes

and what we can do to improve, but...

Yeah, that's done. Move on to the next one.

We know how hard the conditions were here,

but they were hard for all of us.

Those who remained the most focused

were the ones who did the best.

We have twenty days to switch things up,

otherwise we'll get nowhere.

We definitely do better in some competitions

and worse in others.

We can't always be at the top of our game.

Over time, we come to understand this.

If we use the poor results as learning experiences,

that's when we grow.

Currently, I can't follow the training regimen I'd like.

I have to listen to and obey what my back says.

It's not easy for me

because I know just how much training it takes

to compete at a high level,

but I do believe I can put in a good showing

in part because we put to use

everything we've learned in the course of our lives.

I don't consider myself injured anymore.

Rather, I had an injury.

I overcame the injury, and at this point,

none of my ten-meter dives hurt anymore.

Five. Five. Seven.

Five. Five.

Are any of them prepared?

Back in Rio, they seemed prepared.

When it comes time for the competitions,

things look a whole lot different, Ale.

It's like a law of ours.

Whenever we perform poorly, we do well at the next event.

-What's our next event? -The Olympics.

The Olympics.

Welcome to Rome!

If you go to the Trevi Fountain and throw a coin in,

you go back to the sea.

The last time I was here,

I was just beginning my coaching career.

The wish I made here

was to become an Olympic coach.

That wish came true three times over.

Eileen is my masseuse here.

She's part of the team.

She is an important part of my team

in my preparation for the Olympics.

She's the one who gets me on track.

Who straightens me out.

This is where I like to chill,

particularly on the eve of major events.

It's where I relax and read my books,

listen to music, and think about the event.

I think about how the competition might go down.

It's a moment of peace

in which I'm within myself and I can reflect

while having coffee, which is one of my addictions.

Can you imagine years of work leading up to one thing?

For ages I've dreamed of competing in the Olympics

and tomorrow will be the big day.

I have no words.

It's impossible to describe exactly what I'll feel,

because I just don't know.

-Hey, mom. -Hi.

-How was practice? -Great.

That was the last one, right?

My next dive will be in the Olympic pool.

I have no doubt

that it will be the best moment of my life

when I officially become an Olympic athlete.

Tomorrow I'll arrive at the Olympic Village.

All the best athletes will be here.

We all went through practically the same cycle.

We're all the same in this context.

I can't let the situation overwhelm me.

When we get overwhelmed, we lose focus.

The key thing right now is to remain focused

so that we don't throw all our work away.

They're well-prepared.

They look good, and they qualified.

All of them are living their dreams.

So I'd say it's mission accomplished.

I'm a bit anxious right now

about our arrival at the Village.

There's a lot on my mind. My head is spinning.

I had an excellent practice

right when I'm 100% focused.

What are the odds?

When you arrive for an event like the Olympics,

it's no use regretting whatever you did or didn't do.

You get there and think:

"If only I'd done such and such..."

I told them time and again.

When you get to the competition,

it's not training anymore.

As I make my exit now,

I'd say I'm far happier than I could've imagined.

I feel like a gold medal winner.

It had been 68 years

since a Brazilian made it to 16th place

on the ten-meter platform events.

I was really happy

because I matched what I'd done 12 years ago.

I finished among the ten best in the world.

I couldn't possibly be upset about that.

I realize that I wasn't close to a medal finish,

but I've always dreamed of being top ten in the world.

That was our best competition performance ever.

We broke our personal record.

We got as far as we could go,

given everything the athletes went through

leading up to the event.

How do I leave the Olympics, you ask?

With the results we achieved.

I was very focused during the competition itself,

but some days, I had trouble practicing.

I couldn't concentrate.

That subject, you know...

I...

Well, we don't know how the story got out.

It happened, yeah.

I took him to my room,

but that was before they'd even opened the Village.

The inauguration was on the 5th,

and we did it on the 3rd.

It wasn't good for her.

Not so much for me,

'cause it didn't affect me in any way

since that was after my own participation

and it had nothing to do with me, really,

but I think it hurt her

because she still had individual events coming up.

She was bearing the full weight of that whole ordeal.

"Oh, Ingrid had sex at the Village!

They're going to kick her out!"

Ingrid this, Ingrid that!

I can't say for sure if it hindered her performance,

but it did take a big toll on her.

She read everything the media was saying about her

and she was close to people who read about her

and sent her texts about it.

She was constantly taking it all in

and often replying to their comments,

and through all that, she had to remain focused.

Therefore, of course it affected her.

Then she missed that damn dive

which we'd worked on for so long,

and which she'd been hitting well.

There was indeed pressure building up inside her.

I can't speak for her, but that was my read.

She wanted to show everyone that she could dive very well.

To show everyone that it wasn't a game for her.

This was the most pivotal year in our friendship.

Ever since we stopped speaking,

the whole situation

had been wearing on our coaches.

There was constant friction between Ale and Andreia.

Both divers have come to a crossroads

where they have a lot more to gain

by going their separate ways.

I think it will do them a world of good.

It will help them grow far more mature

but they do still need that individual growth.

Their partnership yielded positive results,

but it's the right time to split them up.

Brazilian media loves to harp on that.

"There were 8 in the running, and they finished in 8th.

They came in last place."

That's not how I see it, no.

I see it in a much brighter and more rewarding light.

We are the world's eighth-best synchronized diving duo.

I was chill on the day of my event,

but when I got to the pool, then the nerves hit.

My legs got a little wobbly.

My heart started beating faster.

I planned ahead to concentrate at a given moment.

I went in with certain expectations.

"Okay, I know Brazilians love to get loud

so I'm going to wait until they all settle down."

Two days before the event,

Tammy hit her feet on the springboard.

That's normal on that particular dive.

She dives with her back to the pool

and rotates towards the springboard.

The first somersault

is practically aligned with the springboard.

If they're aligned, the diver hits the board.

I was a little hesitant

and more nervous than on my other dives.

As Juliana counted us down and we made our approach...

One, two and go.

I heard a noise like a bottle popping open.

It was very loud, and since the place was quiet,

I don't know what happened, but I lost my concentration.

I lost my focus and I pulled my feet back

'cause I thought I wouldn't clear it,

and I came up short on the dive.

It was nothing serious, just a lapse of confidence.

Breaking their dive down afterwards,

'cause all we can think at that moment

is "oh God, they missed it"!

Breaking it down, Juliana didn't hit it very well either

but Tammy's contact with the board

eclipsed Juliana's dive.

They weren't that far apart.

Tammy was devastated. "God, I ruined everything!"

No, it wasn't like that.

Both of them made mistakes on the dive.

Self-confidence is crucial in any competition.

Our first dive went well. We were nicely synced.

It's an easier dive,

so it was meant to give us a feel for the competition

in terms of the crowds and the noise level

since we're not used to crowds of that size.

Our second dive was the pike.

It's an extremely simple dive.

But despite the simplicity, it can be tricky to get right.

He counted us off and I hit my dive.

I felt I'd gotten a good entry angle,

but as soon as I resurfaced,

I saw that Andreia was like this.

I thought to myself: "What the heck did I do?"

Then I looked at the big screen

and saw that Luiz hit the water folded in half.

I guess I got too relaxed and too into the moment,

as opposed to keeping my blinders on, so to speak.

I piked and bent my legs in

as if it were a training session.

I simply...

I forgot that I was in a competition.

When we were in the hallway

and he was crying sitting on the floor,

I thought he wouldn't manage to finish the series.

That's what it felt like

because Russia had dived, then England

and China was going up for their dive

and I was still there urging him on.

"Luiz, get it together, for the love of God.

We have four dives left."

It feels like a movie goes through your head.

Extend, extend!

Quit stopping mid-attempt, Luiz.

Don't get so close to the edge of the board

or else you'll jump without knowing what to do.

Every dive is a competition in itself.

That's when we need to narrow our focus

and do the best we can.

If you miss, let it go.

If you nail the dive, let it go.

If you get too excited or dwell on mistakes,

that could cost you a lot more dearly

than letting go of it all.

There were moments in my career

in which I allowed a missed dive

to stick with me throughout the competition,

and that's the worst thing that can happen.

In an Olympic final,

that sort of mistake is your doom.

It kills your drive.

Why compete in an event

where you don't have the slightest shot at winning?

"Why even do it?" You think.

You even lose the will to give it your best.

I honestly expected better results.

Right after the Olympics, I swear I thought to myself:

"That's it for me. I've had enough."

"I'm tired

and it will take tremendous improvement

to get me to come back."

The Olympics

are the consequence of a job well-done.

Coming into a competition,

your mind has to be very sharp and focused.

You need to know what to think, and when.

Coaches have to be in sync with athletes in that regard

because what the coach says during the competition

has a huge influence on the athletes.

The coach needs to assess how the athlete is doing,

if he's too nervous or too relaxed,

because any extremes may harm their performance.

Then, based on the coaches' feedback,

the athlete must make the right adjustments

to compete well.

Rather than narrowly focusing on the final standings,

remember that what you did to get there

is far more important.

If I had to live and suffer through all of it again

to get to where I am today,

I'd endure the suffering.

The crisis with my back problems

hit me more seriously than I'd ever felt before.

The most valuable thing in that story

is that I did what I could to heal my back.

I know I wasn't able to train the way I wished I could've,

but that's when we find out

just how mentally tough we are.

Some clouds have a silver lining.

That was a very tough moment,

but it made him stronger from a mental standpoint

and allowed him to put together

his finest Olympic performance to date.

He got the least amount of training and preparation

this time around,

but maybe what he needed most

was strengthening his mental fortitude

and maybe all the hardship he went through this year

helped to address what he truly needed.

Google, unlike Microsoft, must turn over foreign emails U.S. judge February 4, 2017 - Duration: 3:34.

Google, unlike Microsoft, must turn over foreign emails U.S. judge

A U.S. judge has ordered Google to comply with search warrants seeking customer emails

stored outside the United States, diverging from a federal appeals court that reached

the opposite conclusion in a similar case involving Microsoft Corp (MSFT.O).

U.S. Magistrate Judge Thomas Rueter in Philadelphia ruled on Friday that transferring emails from

a foreign server so FBI agents could review them locally as part of a domestic fraud probe

did not qualify as a seizure.

The judge said this was because there was "no meaningful interference" with the account

holder's "possessory interest" in the data sought.

"Though the retrieval of the electronic data by Google from its multiple data centers abroad

has the potential for an invasion of privacy, the actual infringement of privacy occurs

at the time of disclosure in the United States," Rueter wrote.

Google, a unit of Mountain View, California-based Alphabet Inc (GOOGL.O), said in a statement

on Saturday: "The magistrate in this case departed from precedent, and we plan to appeal

the decision.

We will continue to push back on overbroad warrants."

The ruling came less than seven months after the 2nd U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals in New

York said Microsoft could not be forced to turn over emails stored on a server in Dublin,

Ireland that U.S. investigators sought in a narcotics case.

That decision last July 14 was welcomed by dozens of technology and media companies,

privacy advocates, and both the American Civil Liberties Union and U.S. Chamber of Commerce.

On Jan. 24, the same appeals court voted not to revisit the decision.

The four dissenting judges called on the U.S. Supreme Court or Congress to reverse it, saying

the decision hurt law enforcement and raised national security concerns.

Both cases involved warrants issued under the Stored Communications Act, a 1986 federal

law that many technology companies and privacy advocates consider outdated.

In court papers, Google said it sometimes breaks up emails into pieces to improve its

network's performance, and did not necessarily know where particular emails might be stored.

Relying on the Microsoft decision, Google said it believed it had complied with the

warrants it received, by turning over data it knew were stored in the United States.

Google receives more than 25,000 requests annually from U.S. authorities for disclosures

of user data in criminal matters, according to Rueter's ruling.

The cases are In re: Search Warrant No. 16-960-M-01 to Google and In re: Search Warrant No. 16-1061-M

to Google, U.S. District Court, Eastern District of Pennsylvania, Nos. 16-mj-00960, 16-mj-01061.
