Youtube daily report w Feb 14 2017

After what feels like an eternity, Nissan Australia has finally delivered the goods,

bringing to market one of the fastest cars that money can buy, the Nismo GT-R. Now, Mount

Panorama, Bathurst, seems like a fitting place for a first drive of this thing, and one where

we can answer the ultimate question, does it live up to the Godzilla pedigree?

There's been plenty of hype and speculation around a pedal [? 00:00:26] version of the

R35 GT-R, and now it has landed in Nissan showrooms, the first of several anticipated

Nismo models set for Australia.

Okay, so down to the nitty-gritty.

You get 441 kW and 652 N-m to play with.

That's 22 kW and 20 N-m over the donor car, and like the basic GT-R this thing features

a hand-built engine from Japan.

As for the price, you better sit down, $299,000.

That price positions the GT-R Nismo squarely among the Porsche 911 GT3, Mercedes AMG GTS,

and Jaguar F-type SVRs - big name super cars with plenty of performance.

To help leverage the Nismo from the garden variety GT-R, it scores high flow, larger-diameter

turbochargers, as found on the Nismo GT3 race car, tweaked shock springs, and stabilisers,

and a stiffer body.

Improved aerodynamics include added carbon fibre.

There are also Nismo-tuned Bilstein shock absorbers.

Now, the GT-R Nismo might be priced among those three, but out on the track it has its

own distinct feel.

For one, it weighs only 14 kg lighter than the donor car at a touch under 1,750 kg.

The power - it just has this no-nonsense demeanour.

Any time you want to stand on the throttle it just goes.

Officially, Nissan claims a 0 –100 time of 2.7 seconds in the Nismo, though, based

on our seat of the pants impression, you'd struggle to replicate that without perfect

conditions and a factory test driver.

In saying that it's the middling to upper revs where this thing is simply mesmerising.

It will happily just sing towards its 7,100 rpm cut-out and that's where a lot of the

power is coming to fruition.

The rest of the car also others borrows from the no nonsense handle [? 00:02:35].

The gearbox shifts are best left to manual mode, the steering feels raw, and purposeful,

and the car's Dunlop rubber sticks to the road faithfully.

There's also less body roll than the donor car and the brakes stand-up to plenty of punishment.

All in all the Nismo is confidence inspiring on a track, despite its size and power.

In short few road cars could perform this well on the Mount Panorama circuit.

We also dared to take the Nismo away from the race track and, not surprisingly, there's

no hiding it's hard-core roots.

Yes, look, this thing is hard work away from the racetrack.

For one the gearbox is constantly shuffling and clunking its way through the ratios.

Another thing that's kind of annoying, I'm in sixth gear doing 60 km an hour, typical

sort of overtaking speed, I plant my right foot, and five, four, three, two… we're

finally away.

Inside there are 16 fewer buttons than the previous generation model, as well as a larger

eight inch touch-screen.

Suede trim adorns the top of the dashboard and contact points.

A virtually unusable rear seat resides at the rear.

Okay, so the big question, does the Nismo live up to the Godzilla pedigree?

Well, there's an exercise fraught with danger, but what I think I can safely say is that

this thing does elevate performance in every measurable way.

The biggest thing going against the GT-R Nismo is its price, and the other thing, ironically,

you're going to need a place like this to enjoy its full potential.

STORM IN THE ROOM Episode PREDICTIONS | STEVEN UNIVERSE LEAKS - Duration: 3:19.

Hey guys, Akeem here.

And if you're currently viewing this video, then hopefully you've already seen both

the leaked images and the 2 minute video for the Storm in the Room episode of Steven Universe.

This video is going to serve as a potential breakdown as to what I believe will take place

in this episode based on a previous episode of Steven Universe.

If we take a look back at the Stevonnie in Training episode, we see Connie being consumed

by her negative thoughts and actions – she beat up a boy in school, which really lingered

on her conscious.

This caused her to see things that wasn't there – Connie soon overcame these thoughts

with the help of Garnet, but then it soon spread to Steven.

Lingering on the thoughts of poofing Bismuth, and the Jasper and Eyeball situation, Steven

was consumed with his previous actions.

This surge of emotions led to Steven seeing things that really weren't there, ultimately

leading up to a vision of his mother Rose Quartz.

In this vision, Steven was visually scared.

It wasn't until he was honest with himself about how bad he felt that he was able to

overcome the visions that felt all too real.

Based on these images and from the leaked clip, one can assume that something might

have happened to Connie's mother.

Steven initially wasn't too worried about Connie's mother and believed Connie was

fretting for no reason.

Perhaps Connie became upset with Steven and how he seemed to be very calm about Connie's

mother not picking her up, after all, Connie's parents are quite strict, so it was out of

the norm to not hear from her mother.

Words may have been exchanged between Connie and Steven, which may have cause Steven to

think deeper about his relationship with his own mother … or the lack there of.

The situation with Connie is probably what led Steven to go into Rose's room, to seek

more answers or to just find out more about his mother.

Based on the Stevonnie in Training episode, one can assume that this projection of Rose

is a mixture of repressed emotions and feelings from Steven.

Rose gave up her physical form to give birth to Steven, so perhaps Steven believes that

he was the direct cause of his mother's death.

Steven possibly blames himself for what happened to Rose, and through this astral projection,

perhaps Steven gets some more insight on his mother and some resolution to the notion that

he was responsible for her no longer existing.

There's just so much to speculate here!

But we'll definitely find out the answers ourselves soon enough.

One thing's for sure; I'm pretty sure we'll all be left in tears after this episode.

Seeing Steven interact with his mother, a woman he's never met but whose love stretches

beyond the cosmos, it's hard not to feel sympathy for the character.

Let me know what your thoughts are on the leaked images and video of Storm in the Room.

Do you think I might be on to something, here?

How do you explain Steven's visions of his mother in the room?

Let me know in the comments down below.

As always, thanks for watching, and I will see you in the next one friends.

PEACE!

HIstory of Pilots and Roger: History in a Minute (Episode 12) - Duration: 1:50.

Hey there. This is Mr. Philip Campbell

with Homeschool Connections' History in a

Minute. I am your bearded, nerdy history

guru.

Why do pilots say Roger? Roger, roger

that. What does that mean? How

did they get that? This actually goes

back to the very early days of radio

transmission and flight. And the

letter R was the code for received. So if

somebody sent a message, R was the

symbol to say they received it.

And so they could say received.

However, when we fast-forward to the

period of World War Two

it didn't work to say received, to

receive the message, because

among the Allies not everybody spoke the

same language. The French, the English, the

Americans. The French didn't say received.

So they they changed "received" to Roger

because this was a clearly

understandable name. That is, a name

in all three languages. In English and

American English and in French. All share

the name Roger and so Roger is a code

word for received. When you get a message, you

say Roger. That means received. If you say

Roger Wilco, wilko is short for will

comply.

Roger Wilco means "received the message,

will comply". Now later in the 1950's fifties the US military and and NATO

change the phonetic alphabet. The letter

R instead of Roger became Romeo,

which is today, but the older usage

survives in that pilot still say Roger

to acknowledge a transmission. So very

interesting stuff. Anyhow, that's it for

10 Coisas que Amo na Irlanda [ENGLISH SUB] - Duration: 7:38.

Hey guys! For those of you who thought I would

never talk good stuff about Ireland...

On my last video about Ireland, I told you guys

five things that I hate over there

but today I will say 10 GOOD THINGS

because there are more good than bad over there

So, stay tuned cause we're about to begin.

First thing: Security

In Ireland is super safe to walk around

it's one of the things I like the most

I could walk anytime of the day, no worries

You can go back from your job or a party at 3am, 4am, no problem at all

Everywhere you go in Dublin there's something historic

you are passing by there's an important museum right next to you,

you turn on the corner there's Guinness Storehouse,

you crossing the street there's a castle on the other side of the walk.

So, everywhere you go there's history and it's pretty cool

to be able to live this kind of stuff once you're there.

Nature! I love being surrounded by nature!

I used to live right next to Phoenix Park, which is the

biggest park in Europe.

And it's enormous and gorgeous.

Even to take a road trip is cool cause everything is so near

there's amazing landscapes...breathtaking!

And something really cool to experience.

That's why Ireland is known as well as Emerald Island.

Traffic!

It's really rare to hear people honking on traffic,

It does not really existe 'traffic' over there like in Brazil,

people are kinda polite

you can cross the street and they gonna let you cross,

if you're driving and need to turn left, they gonna let you...

It's really normal this kinda of stuff over there and

it's really cool to be able to see and experience this kinda of 'education' on traffic.

Everything is pretty close,

and I love this fact about Ireland.

You can run some errands, pretty much walking,

and I rather walk than drive.

You can go grocery shopping, to the bank, to work, go back home, pretty much no needing transit.

Of course if you live really far away from the City Center you gotta take a tram or so, but...

For me it something really important, cause you get more hours in your day.

Your day turns out to be more productive.

Colorfull doors!

If you don't know, there're tons of different colours of doors in Dublin houses.

It's really common walk around your neighbourhood and see different colours on people's doors,

I find it so so cute!

I used to spend ten minutes on the street I used to live

taking pics of all the doors over there.

But people say that the women used to paint the doors differently cause

their Irish husbands used to drink a lot, as pretty much the Irish people (lol) and on their way back home

as they were drunk, having the door of their houses painted differently they could find their houses.

I don't know if it's true or not, but if it is, it's pretty cool!

And I love those doors so much!

Another thing that I love in Ireland

I will never stop loving it....is

PENNEYS!

But hold on, it's not 'penis'( male parts in Portuguese)

It's a department store, part of Primemark a english brand.

Dude, you can find whatever you want over there for a good price, a really good price, it's so handy!

Clothing, home decor and so on...

There are so many cool stuff there, really nice,

and the prices are so amazing!

Penny is a 1 cent coin as you know, so PENNEYS mean that

you are able to buy stuff 'with coins', for a low price that you can afford.

And you really can! You can get 2 t-shirts for 2.00 euros.

PENNEYS IS DOPE!

Everyone who's not Irish, living in Dublin they gonna talk about it for sure...even the Irish people do :P

The quality is good, and the prices are fair.

Tea houses!

I love tea, I don't drink coffee at all, but I like Cafes because of the smell

of coffee,

but you can find hot cocoa, other drinks besides coffee, right?

In Dublin I love the Cafes/Tea House over there,

every corner there's a cute one where you can spend the end of the afternoon having a tea,

chatting with you friends, it's amazing!

And actually I read somewhere that Irish people drink more tea than the British.

So, maybe the 5 o'clock tea supposed to be Irish, not British :P

And the Tea Houses over there are so cute decorated, it feels like you are having tea on you grandama's living room (in movies)

It's pretty cozy, and warm, it's not just like another regular Tea House, there's a special touch

that makes you feel welcome.

Supermarkets!

Go grocery shopping in Ireland is amazing!

It's one of the coolest things you can do.

Comparing to Brazil, things over there are really really cheap though! I mean it.

You can find anything you want for a good price, a fair one.

All those different products, with different taste, you can find for a good price most of the time.

I confess that when I went for the first time grocery shopping in Ireland I had 60 euros in my wallet

cause I had the vision in my mind about the places I used to live, that should be between 60,00 - 80,00 euros .

To buy fruits, milk, healthy stuff! So I thought 60,00 euros should be fine.

So, I was shopping there, I got many stuff for 10 days at least, and in the end

when I was doing the check out, the lady says ' 29,50'

I was so chocked that all that stuff cost me 29,50 euros.

And in Ireland there are 3 main markets, LIDL, Tesco and Aldi, I prefer LIDL , don't know why cause there are all

cause they are all the same.

You see that you are paying a fair amount of money on the things you buy. Pretty fair.

Least but not last! My Irish friends!!!

Irish people are so cool, and lovely, and I have to talk about them cause they are part of this whole

experience, so they are part of the 10 Things I love in Ireland indeed!

I big kiss for you guys who are watching this video!

So, I hope you guys like this video! If you have any doubt or question just comment below!

Any questions about living in Dublin, just tell me and I would be glad to answer :)

(New Video every Tuesday at 7am) See you guys! Bye!!

Fish fillet in lemon-dill breadcrumbs - easy, fast and delicious! (recipe) - Duration: 3:27.

Fish fillet in lemon-dill breaded - easy, fast and delicious! (recipe)

If you interfere with subtitles - turn them off!

Hello my dear, with Dean you!

And I welcome you here in the kitchen and on the channel "Collection of Recipes"

Today we will prepare the fish fillets in lemon-dill breaded

This dish can be served as a hot or cold snack or as a main dish

The advantage of this recipe is that it is prepared very quickly, simply, and at the same fish turns out very juicy and tasty!

To prepare this dish you'll need:

• 800 gr. fish fillets • 1 lemon

• 1 bunch of dill • 40 gr. butter

• Seasoning for fish • Salt and pepper

To begin prepare products

Very finely ground herbs, prescription is fennel, but I wanted to add a little parsley

Chopped fresh herbs pour into a separate flat plate

In the same bowl rub on a fine grater zest of one lemon

Try rubbing only the yellow part of the white bitter

Mix the zest with greens - this is breading fish

Prepare fish

In this recipe, you can use absolutely any fish

I took cod fillet with skin, boneless

Cut the fillets into portions pieces of a width of about 4-5 cm.

Each piece of salt, sprinkle with pepper and any seasoning for fish

Gently pour the lemon juice

We shift the prepared fillets on a plate and repeat the same procedure on the reverse side

Now we move to the plate, and we fry our fish

Put the frying pan and warm up her well

At the bottom of the pan put a sheet of parchment paper

This is done so that during frying fish breading dill does not stick

On paper, put a piece of butter and give it to melt

If you do not use butter and vegetable oil, then the fish can be fed as vegetable dishes

Paniruem every piece of greenery in the prepared pan and spread on the skin side down

Fry over medium heat for 3 minutes and turn over,

on the other side fry our fish no more than 3 minutes, not desiccate it, she cooked very quickly

Fish fillet in lemon-dill breaded ready!

As you can see, in the preparation of this dish it took a little time

Fish is prepared quickly, it is very useful and easy to digest

I am pleased to invite everyone to the table and wish you bon appetit!

If you enjoyed this dish - put her finger up!

Why Donald Trump can't bully China on trade - Duration: 5:53.

Why Donald Trump can't bully China on trade.

As US President Donald Trump proceeds to destabilise the postwar global economic order, much of

the world is collectively holding its breath.

Commentators search for words to describe his assault on conventional norms of leadership

and tolerance in a modern liberal democracy.

The mainstream media, faced with a president who might sometimes be badly uninformed and

yet really believes what he is saying, hesitate to label conspicuously false statements as

lies.

But some would argue that beneath the chaos and bluster, there is an economic rationale

to the Trump administrations disorderly retreat from globalisation.

According to this view, the US has been duped into enabling Chinas ascendency, and one

day Americans will come to regret it.

We economists tend to view abdication of US world leadership as a historic mistake.

It is important to acknowledge that the roots of the anti-globalisation movement in the

United States run much deeper than disenfranchised blue-collar workers.

For example, some economists opposed the Trans-Pacific Partnership (a 12-country trade deal that

would have covered 40% of the global economy) on the questionable grounds that it would

have harmed American workers.

It fact, the TPP would have opened Japan far more than it would have affected the US.

Rejecting it only opens the door to Chinese economic dominance across the Pacific.

US populists, perhaps inspired by the writings of Thomas Piketty, seem unimpressed by the

fact that globalisation has lifted hundreds of millions of desperately poor people in

China and India into the global middle class.

The liberal view of Asias rise is that it makes the world a fairer and more just

place, where a persons economic fate does not depend quite so much on where they happen

to have been born.

Trumps honeymoon with the stock market will soon be over

Nouriel Roubini Read more

But a more cynical view permeates populist logic, namely that in its excessive adherence

to globalism, the US has sown the seeds of its own political and economic destruction.

Trumpism taps into this sense of national mortality; here is someone who thinks he can

do something about it.

The aim is not just to bring home American jobs, but to create a system that will extend

US dominance.

We should focus on our own is the mantra of Trump and others.

Unfortunately, with this attitude, it is hard to see how America can maintain the world

order that has benefited it so much for so many decades.

And make no mistake: America has been the big winner.

No other large country is nearly as rich, and the US middle class is still very well

off by global standards.

Yes, Democratic Presidential candidate Bernie Sanders was right that Denmark is a great

place to live and does many things right.

He might have mentioned, however, that Denmark is a relatively homogeneous country of 5.6

million people with a very low tolerance for immigration.

For better or for worse, the globalisation train has long since left the station, and

the idea that one can turn it back is utterly naive.

Whatever might have been done differently before US President Richard Nixon visited

China in 1972 is no longer possible.

The fate of China, and its role in the world, is now in the hands of the Chinese and their

leaders.

If the Trump administration thinks it can reset the clock by starting a trade war with

China, it is as likely to accelerate Chinas economic and military development as it is

to slow it down.

So far, the Trump administration has only sparred with China, concentrating its early

anti-trade rhetoric on Mexico.

Although the North American Free Trade Agreement (Nafta), which Trump reviles, has likely had

only modest effects on US trade and jobs, he has attempted to humiliate Mexicans insisting

that they pay for his border wall, as if Mexico were a US colony.

The US is ill-advised to destabilise its Latin American neighbours.

In the near term, Mexican institutions should prove quite robust; but in the long run, Trumpism,

by encouraging anti-American sentiment, will undermine leaders otherwise sympathetic to

US interests.

If the Trump administration tries such crude tactics with China, it will be in for a rude

surprise.

China has financial weapons, including trillions of dollars of US debt.

A disruption of trade with China could lead to massive price increases in the low-cost

stores for example, Wal-Mart and Target on which many Americans rely.

Moreover, huge swaths of Asia, from Taiwan to India, are vulnerable to Chinese aggression.

For the moment, Chinas military is relatively weak and would likely lose a conventional

war with the US; but this situation is rapidly evolving, and China may soon have its own

aircraft carriers and other more advanced military capabilities.

The US cannot win a trade war with China, and any victory will be pyrrhic.

The US needs to negotiate hard with China to protect its friends in Asia and deal with

the rogue state of North Korea.

Valentine's Day Special | A Love Letter From An Eve Teaser - Duration: 3:50.

My Dear Pooja,

Do you remember the first time I had stalked you?

Exactly a year ago, on Valentine's day we were together

You, me and inspector Tambe

I don't think anyone has told you this,

But whenever you go to file a harassment case you look very cute.

Because of which inspector Tambe also takes two hours to register your case

Excuse me ma'am.

But if you are going to wear such short skirts and tops

Then men will not be able to control themselves.

In this situation, you are equally at fault

Where have you gone away?

People in the neighborhood are talking in a negative light after you have packed up and gone away

They say you have taken up a job You have become an independent woman

I couldn't control myself,I couldn't hear all these things they were talking about you

And beat the crap out of all these feminists.

What fell short in my love?

I used to come to drop you everyday From your college to your house and back

And I made sure you weren't aware of it also

One time, it was 11:30pm at night when you had just returned home

The roads were deserted and dark And nobody would have ever heard your screams

If I wanted, I could have had my way with you

But did I ever think in that way about you?

No Never

Whenever I see a movie, I think of you when I see the heroine

On cable the other day Shahrukh Khan's movie Darr was playing

Agneesakshi Anjaam

And which was that movie in which Arbaaz Khan beats up Juhi Chawla with a belt

Hmm….

Daraar Yes…

It was the golden age of films Now I can't wait anymore

We should get married immediately and move into the duplex flat that will come

in your dowry And then we will equally share the load on

all the chores of the house

Don't worry.

I am just kidding around I am not going to let you work.

Anyway, in a year or two years' time we will have children

And I have already thought of their names Our first born's name will be Sameer

And second born, Ruchir And if we have a baby girl…

No. we will have only two boys

See, I am not saying we won't ever fight No relationship is free of that

Who doesn't get angry?

And sometimes I even may raise my hand But all our thoughts can't match up, right?

Like how you believe in equal rights And me?

So, cute

But they say that opposites attract So now quickly come back to me

Before I have to come and kidnap you

I promise you that on every corner I will harass you

Objectify you Eternally yours

Forever your Lots of love

Only yours Only mine

Only and only yours Male chauvinist pig

Gov't to restrict employees' use of personal cars amid heavy pollution - Duration: 0:50.

To get a grip on the fine dust polluting the air in the greater Seoul area, the government

will restrict the use of personal cars by public employees when dust levels get too

high.

According to the environment ministry and the cities of Seoul and Incheon, the measure

will apply when levels of ultra-fine dust -- the so-called P-M-2-point-5 -- reach 50

milligrams per cubic meter.

Then, cars with license plates ending in even numbers will only be allowed on the roads

on even-numbered days and odd-numbered cars on odd days.

The authorities will send out a text message to alert the affected drivers the evening

before the day it issues the order.

The system begins tomorrow on a trial basis for workers at 738 government and public-sector

entities, and next year may be extended to all privately-owned cars in the capital region.

AMAZING Inventions Available Now! - Duration: 12:41.

Here are the most amazing inventions available now!

10 – EMILY – Robotic Lifeguard

Check out the Emergency Integrated Lifesaving Lanyard, or known more simply as EMILY.

I guess everything has to be an acronym!

This is basically a robotic lifeguard that has super powers...or something very close

to them anyway.

This remote controlled buoy can easily navigate strong currents and surfs at speeds of 22

miles per hour...in other words, way faster than even Michael Phelps.

This allows the buoy to reach drowning swimmers faster without risking an additional human

life.

Made by a company called Hydronalix, EMILY is armed with a lighting system for night

rescues, a couple two way radios, a video stream so lifeguards on the shore can monitor

the rescue mission, a jet pump and enough handles to rescue eight people at a time.

If nothing else, EMILY might be proof that not all robots are evil and trying to take

over the planet.

Sometimes, they just want to save us from drowning.

9 - SeaVax

Simply put, we've gotta figure out a way to clean up the ocean.

There are all kinds of pollution floating around in the ocean which isn't exactly

a great thing.

Thankfully some people figured out a way to help alleviate this problem.

This innovation isn't QUITE out yet, but there are working prototypes out there and

I'd be surprised if it doesn't actually become reality.

First of all, let's quickly examine just how bad this problem is.

Scientists have speculated that by the year 2050, the ocean will have more trash than

fish.

What!!

The SeaVax, a wind and solar powered ship that can essentially act as a giant vacuum

for all the plastic crap on the ocean floor just might be part of the solution to this

daunting problem.

Sensors help detect trash and sonar technology protects marine and bird life from getting

caught in the 160 ft long vessel.

Its compacted cargo is then either collected at sea or returned to port for recycling.

Bluebird Marine Systems, a company based in Sussex, England, provided their proof of concept

in 2016 projecting that the SeaVax will be able to treat close to 90 million litres of

seawater each year.

Let's hope that this innovative vessel is out sooner than later.

8 - Language Translating App

Need to talk with someone who speaks a different language?

There's an app for that.

No seriously, there is.

Actually there are quite a few.

While you have stuff such as Google translator that have been around for a while, newer Apps

for phones are even more convenient.

Take Voice Translator for Android for example.

You can record a phrase and the app will translate it to a language of your selection.

This might come in handy if you're traveling abroad and need to be able to learn a few

foreign phrases.

Or it might be helpful if you encounter a local and need to converse with them.

There's also the iHandy for the iPhone.

This one is pretty straight forward.

You type a word or phrase into one box, pick the language you want to translate it to,

and voila, it makes translations for you...like magic.

Sort of.

Anyway, this might sound pretty basic, but considering people used to need translators

or spend years studying a foreign language, this is one of those inventions that we almost

take for granted.

I bet this would have been very useful when they were building the tower of babel.

7 - The Knockout

Here's a really creative way to catch a buzz…..in different ways!

It's called the Knockout, and it's an interesting little device that turns your

beer bottle into a working bong, once you've finished your beverage.

Equipped with a mouthpiece and valve that are placed inside the beer bottle, all you

have to do is fit the mouthpiece snuggly over the bottle, flip it upside down, suck on the

mouthpiece, and it shoots beer down your mouth, pretty much just like shotgunning a beer.

You see that little pipe that sticks out?

What that does is it allows air into the bottle while the valve keeps it from escaping.

Once you're done guzzling down the beer, you now have a bong.

Fill the bottle halfway up with water, place a gram of whatever smokeable substance you

like inside the pipe, light it up, and boom...you've got a bong.

So in a nutshell, the Knockout is a very efficient way to get a couple buzzes going, and it's

probably up there in useful things for a great party.

6 - Bottleloft

You know how sometimes you run out of room in your fridge?

Maybe you stock up on a bunch beer and can't fit it all in there.

Well that's why someone created the Bottleloft.

The Bottleloft is a series of magnetic strips that allow bottles to stick to the top of

the fridge and just kind of hang out...allowing them to stay cool while freeing up plenty

of other space in the fridge.

These things will make sure your beer won't just fall off in the middle of the night.

The strips are made from super strong magnets and crazy strong tape, known as 3M VHB, which

is also what they happen to use on the wing flaps of commercial planes.

So yeah, it can handle your unopened beer, which will give you room to store something

with some actual nutritional value, or simply more beer.

Your call.

5 - Futuristic Boards

As kids, we might have day dreamed about the distant future and imagined a world where

people zoom around on hoverboards...like the Green Goblin, minus the hand grenades, hopefully.

BUT, we're not quite there yet, but we have made some serious advances towards that goal.

Take the ZBoard 2 for instance.

This bad boy is an electric powered skateboard that reaches speeds of 20 miles per hour and

has a range of anywhere from 16 to 24 miles.

As the world's first weight censored electric skateboard, a rider can control the speed

of the board by leaning forward or backward.

Lean forward to go faster, or lean backward to stop.

It's described by the makers as quote, "perfect for any trip that's too far to walk, but

too short to drive."

Known for being lightweight and portable, the ZBoards could very well be the new way

to make short commutes.

And then there's the Flyboard Air.

A Hoverboard that allows you to totally fly over almost anything.

Created by Zapata Racing, this Hoverboard utilizes four turbo engines with 250 Horsepower

each.

Powered by kerosene, it can be controlled using a remote throttle.

In 2016 a video went viral of Franky Zapata, the CEO of Zapata Racing.

zooming around on the Flyboard Air.

The Flyboard Air seems to be the most extreme Hoverboard out there.

Other companies such as Lexus have Hoverboards, but it's still Zapata Racing that has made

ones that really flies.

But as Zapata himself pointed out, anyone brave enough to ride on the Flyboard Air should

have experience with Hoverboards, especially with The Flyboard Air's predecessor, the

Flyboard, which is a hoverboard of sorts powered by water-jets.

Whether or not it takes off as a viable mode of transportation, still remains to be seen.

4 - Kymco's Smart Scooters

You definitely know about smart cars and electric cars, which are definitely the future.

But what about those who don't drive cars, or want to be even more efficient?

Smart Scooters are making their presence known.

A Taiwanese company called Kymco has started what they call "The NooDoe Experience."

Basically they have created a new dashboard for scooters, which display info such as the

time, weather, a speedometer and a simple compass to keep riders going in the right

direction.

All of this allows riders to stay informed, while not taking their hands of the controls

or their eyes off the road.

It also connects to smartphones, so when the scooter is stopped, riders can see alerts

on their dashboard.

Riders can also customize their dashboard with color schemes, photos and all kinds of

interesting elements.

The super cool thing is that riders can connect with their friends who also are part of the

NooDoe System.

So let's say you're cruising around town on your scooter looking for your friend Bob.

You know Bob is on his scooter as well.

Thankfully, you're both on the NooDoe system, so Bob now appears as a blip on your Dashboard.

He's just a couple blocks away, and now you can catch up with him quickly without

having to pull over and call him.

Orrrr this is another useful way to stalk someone!

3 - Germ Killing Paint

In 2015 Sherwin-Williams came up with a plan to stop the spread of infections within hospitals.

According to a story by CNN, around 1 in 25 people will contract some kind of infection

or sickness while staying in hospitals.

This leads to serious illness and sometimes death, which of couse pretty much sucks.

But thanks to Paint Shield by Sherwin-Williams, that could maybe be a thing of the past.

Sherwin-Williams says that Paint Shield is unique because it doesn't just prevent the

growth of common bugs, it also eliminates more than 99 percent of germs while killing

common microbes in the process, thanks to the product's active ingredient, Alkyl Dimethyl

Benzyl Ammonium Chloride, or "quat."

EPA test protocols show that Paint Shield's antibacterial capability can last up to 4

years as long as the surface integrity is preserved.

Paint Shield is available in more than 500 colors and isn't limited just to hospitals.

This stuff could be useful anywhere germs are common, such as walls of medical complexes,

locker rooms, schools, and daycare centers.

2 - Exoskeletons

Imagine a suit of armor that gives you increased strength and endurance while allowing you

to stay limber.

Well, the Exoskeleton isn't a figment of the imagination, it's a real thing that's

being used today!

These wearable machines are powered by a series of motors and hydraulics to provide people

wearing them greater strength, endurance and protection.

They have many practical uses, especially in the medical field, such as helping people

without arms or legs in improving their quality of life.

It may even help medical professionals improve precision during surgery, or nurses to lift

heavy patients or equipment.

Perhaps unsurprisingly, Exoskeletons can also be used in the military.

Since they add strength and endurance without limiting mobility, soldiers can use them during

missions while carrying heavy weapons or equipment.

It might even be useful for other tasks, such as on construction sites where workers often

have to lift heavy objects, or maybe even firefighters who have to work in dangerous

environments.

If Exoskeletons seem cutting edge, it's because they are.

But the idea goes all the way back to 1890 when a Russian dude named Nicholas Yagn designed

an apparatus to assist with walking, running and jumping.

But that was pretty basic; these days you have Exoskeleton products such as ReWalk,

which assists people with lower limb disabilities or Sarcos products and their array of Exoskeleton

arms and legs that allow people to lift up to 200 pounds with basically no effort.

And even Honda has developed Exoskeleton legs that has a seat for the user.

And that's just naming a few.

Dozens of companies have created products featuring this amazing technology.

1 – Bionic Eye As unbelievable as it might sound, there is

now a way to restore sight through a brain implant.

Also known as the Bionic Eye or the Retinal Implant, The Argus II from Second Sight aims

to help people suffering from vision loss.

Here's how it works.

A miniature video camera housed in the patient's glasses captures a scene.

The video is sent to a small patient-worn computer, the video processing unit, where

the video is processed and transformed into instructions that are sent back to the glasses

via a cable.

These instructions are transmitted wirelessly to an antenna in the retinal implant.

The signals are then sent to an electrode array, which emits small pulses of electricity.

These pulses bypass the damaged photoreceptors of the eye and stimulate the retina's remaining

cells, which transmit the visual information along the optic nerve to the brain, creating

the perception of patterns of light.

Patients learn to interpret these visual patterns with their retinal implant.

This basically allows you to see a visual representation of the world around you, which

supplements your own sight.

Now that's pretty impressive.

Here's what's next!

How to Find Your First Business Idea - Duration: 6:20.

Today, we're gonna be talking about how to find a business idea.

Hey, and welcome back to another episode of Financial Style with Tish.

So I get this question a lot from several entrepreneurs.

And typically, you know, they're first getting started out and they're trying to figure out

exactly what to do.

A lot of times I hear, "I can't focus," or, "There's a lot of things that I'm good at,

how do I choose just one?"

And I totally get it, I totally understand it.

As an entrepreneur essentially you, you know, you have a lot of things that you're really

good at.

It's easy to get bogged down and not really know what you should offer as an entrepreneur,

especially when there are so many things that you're good at and there are so many different

things that you have skills and talents in.

I specialize in helping entrepreneurs just like you figure out exactly what talent that

is that you have, that you can offer.

So let's figure out exactly how you can find your very first business idea.

The first thing to do is figure out exactly what you're good at.

Now, you might think you're good at writing, you might think that you're good at singing.

::Singing off key::

But you might not realize that those are actually not your skills and not your talent.

What's really, really important is to figure out what you are actually really, really good

at, okay?

So that's the first piece of finding a really good business idea.

What you are better at than almost anyone else and what's difficult about this is that

sometimes, when you're really good at something, it's hard to understand that other people

are not good at it because what you find that comes naturally to you usually doesn't come

naturally to everyone else right?

So, for example, I'm really good at seeing a problem and seeing the solution to that.

It's just something that comes easily to me and I always thought that everyone else was

the same way.

That anyone else could see a problem and automatically think of a solution to it but that is that's

not the case.

And so that's the skill that I use with the entrepreneurs that I work with.

I come up with a strategy for them, I see the problems and I can immediately see the

solution and create a plan in order to make it through to the other end.

But that doesn't come naturally to everyone, so you've got to figure out what you are really,

really good at.

And it might take you actually walking around and just asking your friends and family and

different people that are in your circle like, "Hey, what are those things that you think

that I'm really good at?" or "What can you see that comes naturally to me?"

That's your first step and it's one of the most important pieces in the process.

Your second step to finding a really good business idea is to look for existing business

models.

So there are existing business models out there that are already working.

There's no need for you to re-invent the wheel.

A business model is simply the way that a business brings in revenue.

It's all the things that they do in order to bring in revenue.

If you are...if you are really good at teaching people and you can actually convey the things

that you're doing and help someone else, you know, transfer what's in your brain over into

the other person's brain then you might be really good in teaching, in consulting, in

showing someone exactly what to do.

So it's important to understand that there are already business models that are out there

and it's important for you to plug-in what you do into an existing business model.

And finally, when you're looking for a business idea, it's important to test, test, test,

test.

Don't be afraid to fail, don't be afraid to fall.

It's likely that you will fail and it's likely that you will fall.

It's likely that your first idea is not gonna be the best one and maybe your second idea

won't be that great as well.

But what's really important is that you understand that becoming a great entrepreneur is all

about being okay with failing and persevering.

So, what you're looking for when you're looking for a great business idea is the intersection

of what you're really good at, what you enjoy doing, and what people will you pay you for.

And once you find that spot in the middle, that's your sweet spot, that's your business

idea.

And that's when you will be successful when you take that business idea and you plug it

into an already existing business model.

So if you'd like to take your skills and you want to turn it into a viable source of income

then I'd love to have you join me in our Creating Coins Challenge.

I'm gonna show you how to take the skills you have and use them in a consulting capacity.

PEACE!

2017 Nissan Nismo GT-R Review - Duration: 4:01.

U.S. National Security Adviser Michael Flynn resigns - Duration: 1:46.

U.S. National Security Adviser Michael Flynn submitted his resignation just a few hours

The Trump administration has named retired Lieutenant General Keith Kellogg to serve

President Donald Trump's National Security Adviser, Michael Flynn, submitted his letter

of resignation late Monday night.

Flynn's action came in the wake of reports that he may have had misled top White House

officials,... including Vice President Mike Pence,... about his phone conversations with

the Russian ambassador to the United States in late December.

The Washington Post and the New York Times have both reported that Flynn talked to the

ambassador about U.S. sanctions against Russia... imposed under the Obama administration...

and before Donald Trump was inaugurated.

The Post is also reporting that the Justice Department had warned the White House late

last month that Flynn's activities could make him vulnerable to blackmail by the Russians.

Flynn had previously denied that he'd had any substantive conversations with the ambassador,

Sergei Kislyak,... and as late as January Vice President Pence had backed his claim,

saying the sanctions were not part of the talks between the two.

In his resignation letter, Flynn said that he briefed the vice president with "incomplete

information" regarding the calls... "due to the fast pace of events."

He also said he has apologized to both Trump and Pence and they have accepted his apology.

Flynn's departure comes after just 24 days on the job, making his tenure as a senior

presidential adviser one of the shortest in modern history.

Varyag Cruiser - Duration: 9:46.

The history books of the Russian Navy

have a great number of glorious pages with the names of heroic ships inscribed.

The most renowned among them

is the 1st rank protected cruiser which accepted an unequal battle

with 15 enemy ships at the very beginning of the Russo-Japanese War.

Her heroic deed was celebrated in movies and songs:

"Proud Varyag will not surrender to the enemy; no one wants their mercy…"

The cruiser Varyag was laid in 1899 at an American dock yard in Philadelphia

under order of the Russian Empire's Naval Ministry.

Varyag was an attempt to design a universal cruiser class that could simultaneously act

as a single raider and a powerful scout in a squadron capable

of fighting even armored enemy ships if necessary.

In the beginning of 1901, the ship entered service in the Imperial Russian Navy.

The cruiser's length wasalmost 130 m; its beam—about 16 m

The actual displacement was over seven thousand tons, and the draft—almost over 6 m

The engine power reached 16,000 horsepower, which could enable the cruiser

to attain a speed of up to 23 knots.

But engine failures became a serious problem for the ship and her actual speed, by 1904,

was only 14 knots.

On both sides of the cruiser, booms for the torpedo nets were mounted.

Nets fixed to these booms held back torpedoes and prevented them

from hitting the ship hull.

The armored deck of Varyag was up to 76 mm thick,

and the conning tower was protected by 152 mm of armor.

The primary armament of the cruiser consisted of twelve 152-mm Canet

guns mounted on the upper deck. Four of these guns were located on the ship ends, two on each end, and the rest

were mounted along the sides.

The secondary armament included: - Twelve 75-mm Canet guns for torpedo defense

- Eight 47-mm guns.

Two of these guns, along with a pair of 37-mm guns and two machine guns,

were used for arming boats and motor boats.

The cruiser was also equipped with six above-water 381-mm

torpedo tubes and 35 obstacle mines.

In early May 1901, Varyag arrived in Kronshtadt,

and set off three months later for a new destination in the Far East.

In 1903, a year after arriving at Port Arthur

a new commander—Captain of the First Rank Vsevolod Fyodorovich Rudnev - was appointed to the ship.

Early in the morning on December 27, 1903, an order was received via radio from the squadron commander:

the cruiser and the gunboat Korietz were required to ensure the safety of the Russian mission in Seoul

The next morning, Varyag raised her anchor and headed for Chemulpo,

to her first and last battle, immortalizing the ship's name.

The entire international military squadron focused on the harbor of the Korean port.

The squadron was to ensure stability in this region.

But in late January 1904, that precarious stability was over:

Japan broke off its diplomatic relations with Russia.

On January 27, a cruiser squadron of the Japanese Navy, led by the rear admiral

Uryu Sotokichi blocked Chemulpo and Japanese landing parties landed on the coast.

The cruiser Varyag and gunboat Korietz decided to force their way to Port Arthur

Having arranged the crew members on the upper deck and sounded the alarm, both ships moved to exit the bay.

An orchestra played on the Varyag; as an expression of their admiration for Russian courage,

foreign ships in the harbor saw them off by singing the Russian anthem and shouting "Hoorah!"

The Japanese didn't expect the Russian ships to leave the port.

Admiral Uryu, at first, couldn't believe that the Russians were not going to surrender,

but instead attack his squadron.

The first salvoes were heard...

The adversary literally showered the Russian ships with high-explosive shells.

Varyag responded by rapidly firing heavy armor-piercing shells that,

unfortunately, often pierced the sides of the Japanese ships without exploding.

Within the first 30 minutes of the battle, the Russian ship was seriously damaged:

the right wing of the fore bridge was crashed, there were fires in the navigation room,

and the main fighting top was destroyed.

Rangefinders failed to determine the distance to the adversary,

and this heavily affected the precision of Varyag's fire.

Two main battery guns, two 75-mm guns, and three 47-mm guns were disabled.

Explosions ignited crew members' living quarters.

But Varyag continued firing back and moving forward.

After 20 minutes of battling, the commander decided to bring port side guns into action.

When the cruiser started turning, the adversary's shells broke the steering system

and hit officers and crew members with fragments that penetrated the conning tower.

Vsevolod Fyodorovich Rudnev was wounded, but continued to command the ship.

However, the cruiser was unable to maneuver, she received damage underwater on the left side

of the stern, and started rolling over. The commander gave an order to return to Chemulpo.

According to the report from the Varyag's commander, one destroyer was sunk

and three cruisers were damaged by the Varyag's fire.

The cruiser Varyag was hit 7 to 11 times in the battle.

The losses were great, with eight officers and 115 crew members among the killed and wounded -

half of them had been on the upper deck during the battle, this amounts to a fifth of the entire crew.

Out of the 12 main battery guns, only two remained in working condition.

It was impossible to resume the battle, but no one was going to surrender the ships.

It was decided to send the surviving crew to foreign vessels.

Having received Rudnev's request, commanders of European ships immediately sent boats with medics.

Korietz was the first to be exploded; then the kingston valves were opened on Varyag.

Vsevolod Fyodorovich Rudnev was the last to leave the ship.

On January 27, 1904, at 18:10, the protected cruiser Varyag toppled onto its left side

and disappeared beneath the waves, with its St. Andrew's flag fluttering.

The ship commander was awarded a fourth class Order of Saint George and promoted to fliegel-adjutant.

This award wasn't the last one for Vsevolod Fyodorovich Rudnev Fascinated by the valor of the Russian sailors,

the Japanese Emperor awarded him the Order of the Rising Sun in 1907.

This way, the Japanese appreciated the heroic feat not only of the commander,

but of his ship as well—the 1st rank protected cruiser Varyag

Krasnaya Gorka - Duration: 18:17.

This monument—three large anchors attached to flagpoles—

together with the unmarked grave where fallen seamen lay,

is a memorial honoring the naval glory of the Krasnoflotsky Fort.

The fort was built near the village of Krasnaya Gorka

and was known as Alekseevsky before the revolution.

There were good reasons for the fort's construction...

Naval Fortress

By the middle of the first decade of the 20th century, when the first dreadnoughts came into existence,

it became clear that the Kronstadt fortress was practically obsolete.

Its 250-millimeter guns had a maximum range of nearly 14 kilometers,

while the newest enemy ships could hit the fortress from twice that distance.

The brick walls of the fort wouldn't hold against a salvo from the 305-millimeter guns of dreadnoughts.

... two underground concrete forts were built along the southern and northern coast of the Gulf of Finland.

They were named after their locations: cape Inoniemi

(Ino for short)

and cape Krasnaya Gorka.

The total area of the Krasnaya Gorka Fort is 450 hectares.

The fort's highest point is the observation tower of the 305-millimeter gun battery,

rising 36 meters above sea level.

The internal walls were 1 meter thick, while the slabs were at least 2 meters thick.

The fort had four batteries. The first battery had eight 280-millimeter howitzers with a range of 7 kilometers.

The second battery housed eight 250-millimeter Brink guns with a range of almost 14 kilometers.

The third battery consisted of eight 305-millimeter guns:

four guns in open mounts, and another four in twin turrets.

Finally, the last battery had six 152-millimeter Canet guns primarily intended for fighting enemy landing parties.

The fort garrison consisted of 2,570 people.

A hot air balloon was used to observe targets. It floated above a special tower at a height of 1 kilometer.

The enemy ships didn't stand a chance of making it to the mouth of the Neva river

when caught in the crossfire from the Ino and Krasnaya Gorka forts.

This is the gun position for the 250-millimeter gun battery. There were eight gun positions in the fort—one for each gun.

They housed the guns designed by the Russian scientist and artilleryman Anton Frantsevich Brink.

Each gun position had an area of about 200 square meters

and could accommodate a whole crew of 45 gunners.

But there was no need for this since most of the gunners were frequently underground.

So usually only 10 people stayed here at one time.

The gun barrel was more than 11 meters long. A shell weighed 225 kilograms.

Rate of fire was one shot per minute. Range of fire was almost 14 kilometers.

At the time, when Krasnaya Gorka was being built,

the battery with Brink guns was intended to become the main armament of the fort.

Gun positions are connected to each other by posterns— long underground corridors—and surrounded by casemates.

These bell mouths were used for communication. An officer gave the orde,

"Attention! Alert! Action stations!"

The communication system is connected to the adjacent casemates: this is how orders are passed along.

On the walls, you can see fixtures for bunks.

During operations, gunners slept right here, in the basement next to their stations.

When Krasnaya Gorka was being built, reinforced concrete was not yet known

and concrete production was costly.

This is why more than half of the fort's walls are made of lime and only ten percent of them are made of concrete.

That being said, they are hard to destroy even one hundred years later.

Still, these posterns are only one of the many fortifications at Krasnaya Gorka...

We are standing on an artificial hill.

To the right, behind two rows of barbed wire, there is a military base.

The majority of the fort now lies on its territory and the public is not admitted there.

Behind and below, is a mine and searchlight station.

As you can guess from the name, this was where mines were stored and assembled.

Powerful searchlights illuminated access to the fort.

Towards the sea, the construction was protected by a low firing wall which operated as a kind of bastion.

But this is only the tip of the iceberg.

The most exciting constructions are hidden underground.

In the basement, there is a wide corridor with ventilation tubes

that run through the whole firing and searchlight station.

You can see cable channels on the floor and numerous casemates to the right and left.

Here, fuel tanks were built into the floor. Before they were cut down, they reached the ceiling.

The fuel supply was enough to keep a small standalone power plant running for precisely 90 days.

This is a pumping plant. It housed a pumping system which took in water from the swamp.

Then the stagnant water was thoroughly filtered, turning it into high-quality drinking water.

This space housed the equipment which gave the station its name:

it's a shaft for storing disappearing Siemens-Schuckert searchlights with a glass diameter of almost 2 meters.

There are two shafts at the station. They are covered over with slabs now.

But when they were operational, the searchlights were brought to the surface right from here.

It's hard to believe, but at the beginning of the 20th century the fort had its own telephone station,

water facilities, heating system, sewage collection system, and a standalone power plant.

The engineers who worked on the construction of the fort became real pioneers.

This was the era of breakthroughs in Russian engineering.

It was so surprisingly productive

that Germany no longer tried to use its High Seas Fleet

to enter the eastern part of the Gulf of Finland.

These forts fought a silent war deterring all challengers...

In the summer of 1918, news arrived that Germans were going to attempt a landing.

The Russians decided to mine the fort.

On August 19, 1918 a violent thunderstorm passed over the fort.

The charges detonated resulting in a massive explosion.

This is where the explosion happened: the location of the 250-millimeter gun battery.

Right behind me is a giant crater which was created by the explosion.

Part of the fortifications were blown sky-high before falling back down.

This is all that is left of the gun positions and the command and observation post of the battery.

The 250-millimeter guns were torn off the mount and thrown 30 meters backwards.

Can you imagine that? A giant 10-meter gun weighing 22 tons flying 30 meters!

... these concrete blocks are part of the battery's command post.

They were brought here by the explosive force. Cutting down trees as they went...

... before reaching the water. The distance from here to the battery is more than 1000 meters.

You can imagine how violent the explosion was.

In late May and early June 1919,

a major part of the garrison staged a White Guard mutiny led by the commandant.

Three days later, the mutiny was suppressed.

Two years later, the garrison, now red, supported the suppression of the Kronstadt

rebellion against the Bolsheviks.

But battles for the Red and White army were not the only battles that the fort was engaged in.

In 1919, the coastal artillery of the Krasnaya Gorka Fort had to fight with a British warship...

In 1919, England built and launched a special purpose ship for destroying coastal fortifications.

The ship was built based on US technology,

with a rounded design, and equipped with two powerful 381 mm guns.

It was known as the monitor HMS Erebus

HMS Erebus was towed to the destination and brought to anchor,

followed by the fire adjustment procedure…

The guns fired a few salvoes, but the 900 kg projectiles landed near the fort,

failed to detonate, and did not inflict any damage.

Meanwhile, an observation scout at the hot air balloon from the Krasnaya Gorka spotted the target,

and two trial shots were fired from the fort.

The third 305 mm gun's shot could have reached the ship, the Englishmen hastily cut the anchor cables

and towed their monitor straight back to the port in Edinburgh.

Thus, the first successful fight of the Kronstadt Fortress was provided by the Krasnaya Gorka Fort.

However, the battle was not over yet.

The Englishmen needed to learn how the fort artillery guns aimed,

detect the observation scout, and eliminate him...

Two planes came from the direction of Karelian Isthmus.

Their task was to detect the observation scout and find out how the artillery guns of the Krasnaya Gorka Fort aimed.

The first plane did not detect the subject and returned to base.

The pilot of the second plane suddenly noticed a hot air balloon with a person

wearing a fur coat in a wicker basket at 1,000 meters above the ground.

The pilot came closer and fired with his machine-guns.

Two of four cables of the balloon basket were cut, and the basket tilted with one side downward.

The plane started turning in a wide arc to return and destroy the balloon.

The observation scout fired back at the tail of the plane with his machine-gun and shot it down.

This is the first case that a hot air balloon was used to shoot down an enemy plane during World War I by Russians.

After the Russian Civil War and the first years of a hard post-war period,

the Red Army decided to renovate the fort's defense system.

One of the key requirements of the time was the use of mobile artillery.

The weak point of coastal artillery is its immobility.

The enemy is always aware of gun battery positions and knows where projectiles will come from.

It makes the fixed guns an easy target for return fire.

Mobile artillery, for example mounted on a railway car, is another story.

From the early '30s of the 20th century, the construction of special railways

and artillery positions for this type of gun began at the Black Sea,in the Far East, and at the Baltic.

Mobile railway guns are a low-cost option used as a substitute for stationary fortifications.

Railway guns can be quickly positioned for firing, discharge several salvoes,

and be withdrawn to a safe position.

About 80 km of railway lines were built across the fort's surface for this purpose.

This railway artillery mount TM-3-12 is equipped with a powerful 305 mm gun.

It used to be installed on battleship Imperator Alexandr III,

but in 1944, it was relocated to the Krasnaya Gorka Fort.

The projectiles were collected from a truck and an armored wagon behind the railway car,

by means of a cradle moving along the guides.

After a projectile was delivered to the gun, a device in the shape of a log,

located behind the gun breech, pushed the projectile into the barrel with compressed air,

unfortunately this device has not survived the test of time.

When firing, this type of gun could easily collapse,

that's why it was positioned on a special site.

At the Krasnaya Gorka Fort, this site was called "Object-100."

When delivered to the site, guns were fixed and connected

to the fire-control system located at the observation post.

To ensure precise fire for the new artillery systems, the fort required a modern approach to aiming.

A hot air balloon with an observation scout in a basket became a thing of the past.

Instead, a 38-meter concrete lookout tower was constructed at the "Object-100."

There is no way up—two flights of stairs have been removed.

At the very top of the tower, there is a large room equipped with a Launitz range finder, telephone station, and radio.

By the beginning of World War II, the Krasnaya Gorka Fort

was considered an elite unit of the nation's coastal defense.

Three months after Nazi Germany invaded the territory of the USSR,

the Wehrmacht troops were stunned by the heavy fire of the fort's gun batteries.

It was then that the Oranienbaum Bridgehead was established.

Its boundaries were determined by the firing range of the Krasnaya Gorka's artillery.

This artillery mount has the code name TM-1-180.

TM is the Russian acronym for a railway gun, 1 is a design number,

and 180 stands for the gun's caliber in millimeters.

The crew was partially protected by armor.

The front end of the armor is 39 mm thick, which is almost as thick as the front armor of the T-34 tank.

Immediately before firing, the crew laid crossties under the railway car on the rails to prevent damage from the recoil

caused by a powerful blast.

The gun fires—the clock is ticking.

The seamen start throwing the crossties on the lower deck—here.

The support legs came out of the ground, but there's no need to fold them into the transport position—

they do not prevent the car from moving.

The worse thing they can do is break a few trees along the railway.

The railway gun withdraws from the firing position.

This is where an electric motor would sit, allowing the railway car to cover the distance of 30 km

and stay out of sight of enemy scouts.

The Krasnaya Gorka artillery not only deterred the enemy on land,

but ensured security in the sea lane forcing the Finnish gun batteries to stay silent.

In 1942, the fort was even provided with supplementary armament despite the ongoing siege.

This is a well-known Soviet 130 mm B-13 Pattern 1935 gun.

Judging by its appearance, it is inferior to Canet and Brink guns.

However, the B-13 has its own advantages:

it is equipped with an armored shield protecting the crew from shrapnel and bullets

and has a high rate of fire, producing up to 14 rounds per minute.

In January 1944, the Oranienbaum Bridgehead served as a starting point for Operation January Thunder,

aimed at ending the siege of Leningrad.

Later, the fort's gun batteries were used to fire on Finnish fortifications at the Karelian Isthmus.

By the end of World War II, the railway guns were far from the fort—near Königsberg.

Of all the forts of the Kronstadt Fortress, the Krasnaya Gorka had the most prominent career.

The fort stirred up and suppressed rebellions, and fired at enemy land troops and even neighboring forts.

During the Russian Civil War, it fought against an English warship and Kronstadt battleships.

During World War II, it served as the last stand of the Leningrad defense.

Nowadays, the partially abandoned Krasnaya Gorka Fort is one of the most interesting memorials of the Kronstadt Fortress

and Russian naval glory.
