Lil Yachty Doesn't Need to Listen to 2Pac and Biggie to Rap - Duration: 2:38.
In 2016, one of the biggest rap debates boiled down to what a rapper should know about their
artform.
Rising Atlanta rapper Lil Yachty was put under the microscope, as were many of his other
so-called mumble rap peers.
Were they ruining rap?
Were they even rapping at all?

bed, and with Yachty prepping his proper debut, Teenage Emotions, for this year, it's as
good a time as any to revisit the issue.
So: Is it fair to ask a teenager in 2017 to rap the same way Jay Z or Nas or Ice Cube
would?
Should young rappers be expected to flip similes and metaphors in the pocket in a way that
appeases rap fans who came of age in an era that emphasized lyrics?
Some argue that, yes, any artist who hopes to have a fruitful, impactful career should
not only know how to spit in the traditional sense, they should also be well-versed in
the legends who came before them.
But, of course, in practically all artforms there's a long history of "outsider artists,"
that is, self taught artists who made their work outside of the establishment.
They don't have the training or education that their peers have.
In fact, they don't really have peers at all.
Why shouldn't hip-hop branch out in this way?
Last September, the 30-year-old rapper and singer Anderson .Paak tweeted some words directed
at Lil Yachty.
"Don't be cocky in the fact that you don't know anything about hip hop history.
Real artists are students of the game first."
The tweet came after Lil Yachty was ridiculed online for admitting in an interview with
Billboard that he "honestly couldn't name five songs" by the Notorious B.I.G. or Tupac
Shakur, two pillars of hip-hop.
He tweeted back at his critics to dismiss their concerns.
"I think it's funny how people feel like you HAVE to like something just cause everybody
else does."
"Where in the handbook of hip hop does it say u must know this list of songs to make
music.
Lmao"
Lil Yachty doesn't consider himself a lyricist in the classic sense, so knowing this history,
he argues, isn't particularly significant for him.
And a large number of his almost half a million Twitter followers agree.
There will be more heated debates about what constitutes "real" hip-hop.
But Lil Yachty, who defines his sound as "bubble-gum trap," is but one of many young artists whose
approach is explicitly unconcerned with things like triple entendres or the gems buried in
Biggie's "Warning."
It's a generational shift.
And this new breed of rappers—from Lil Uzi Vert to Kodak Black—doesn't deem it necessary
to cater to some standard set by folks holding on to a rap ethos established decades ago.
Truth be told, it's odd to demand a 19-year-old like Lil Yachty sound like Nas rapping his
guts out with DJ Premier, Large Professor, and Pete Rock in the next room.
And that doesn't mean Lil Yachty doesn't have a voice that should be heard.
It's just that some will choose not to hear it.

As emotions intensify over Trump�s recent immigration ban, the State Department and
IRS have quietly used it as a smokescreen to roll out a new policy that targets U.S.
citizens for unpaid taxes.
The passports of these individuals can now be revoked and their citizenship status undermined
at the behest of one of the government�s most corrupt agencies.
By granting the Internal Revenue Service control over passports, due process has been significantly
undermined.
The shield of protection that U.S. citizenship used to represent has transformed into an
inescapable brand of ownership.
The desperate financial condition of the federal government will only worsen in the future,
forcing it to further consume its own people�s wealth in order to survive.
The new program is set to be implemented over the next few months, and currently only those
with �seriously delinquent tax debt� are in the crosshairs.
An individual must have $50,000 worth of tax debt to be subject to revocation, but that
number can easily be adjusted downward in the future.
Once identified by the IRS, a certification is sent to the State Department to begin the
process.
The taxpayer is then informed of the action taken against them, but any recourse from
there is extremely limited.
This policy blatantly targets citizens living outside of the country who may not have filed
with the IRS while earning an income abroad.
The United States is one of only two countries in the world that entitles itself to tax citizens
while they work in other countries.
These regulations were bolstered by FACTA legislation, which requires all foreign financial
institutions to report account information on Americans.
The additional risks that come with having to deal directly with the U.S. government
have led many foreign banks to deny American clients altogether.
As society progresses into the next age of authoritarianism, it�s clear that control
over travel is going to play a key role in the power structure.
The National ID is just one sign of the changing tide and will require federal identification
instead of a state driver�s license to travel.
These new cards would establish a kind of �domestic passport� system that would
open the door to serious abuses against law-abiding citizens.
The consolidation of authority into agencies like the TSA and IRS should act as a canary
in the coal mine to those worried about the suppression of their freedom of movement.
The ACLU has come out strongly against this kind of control grid being established:
�Americans have long had a visceral aversion to building a society in which the authorities
could act like totalitarian sentries and demand �your papers please!� And that everyday
intrusiveness would be conjoined with the full power of modern computer and database
technology.
When a police officer or security guard scans your ID card with his pocket bar-code reader,
for example, will a permanent record be created of that check, including the time and your
location?
How long before office buildings, doctors� offices, gas stations, highway tolls, subways
and buses incorporate the ID card into their security or payment systems for greater efficiency?
The end result could be a nation where citizens� movements inside their own country are monitored
and recorded through these �internal passports.�� Considering all of this, the implications
of Trump�s border wall should start to appear more sinister than ever to individual freedom.
In the years to come, the wall could just as easily be used to keep people in rather
than out.

The pride that used to be associated with American citizenship created a country of
opportunity for those willing to work hard, but now that pride has been replaced with
a ball and chain that drags down the prosperity of those hindered by it.
Tax evasion is seen by many as a crime deserving of severe punishment, but the hypocrisy of
a nation like the United States claiming the moral high ground is laughable.
Those who can distance themselves from the jurisdiction of bureaucrats in Washington
should do so as soon as possible.
America is starting to resemble the Titanic, and there aren�t enough lifeboats for the
passengers.
The objective now should be to avoid being pulled under the water when the $20 trillion
debt bubble implodes.

U.S. lawmakers petition White House to beef up missile defense - Duration: 1:44.
U.S. lawmakers have petitioned the White House to strengthen America's missile defense systems
to defend against threats posed by North Korea and Iran.
They are also calling for Washington to not only focus on countering missile threats,
but advance America's missile defense technology so it doesn't fall behind other nations.
Ro Aram has more.
According to conservative news website Washington Free Beacon, the petition was sent last week
by members of the House missile defense caucus, which is led by Representative Trent Franks.
They cited Iran's latest test of ballistic missile technology as reinforcing belief in
Congress that something must be done to secure the American homeland.
In the letter, the group called for a prompt allocation of funds needed to bolster missile
defense capabilities in order to protect the U.S. and its allies from the world's deadliest
weapons for years to come.
Upon President Donald Trump's inauguration, the White House said on its website that Washington
will develop a state-of-the-art missile defense system to protect against missile-based attacks
from nations like North Korea and Iran.
However, the lawmakers expressed concern with these comments, saying the focus should not
solely be on countering these threats, but to outpace the ongoing missile buildup taking
place in other countries.
They said Washington's near-peer competitors are working to exploit gaps in America's current
defenses and continue to modernize their strategic weapons
...while the U.S. is allowing its aging missile defense systems to fall behind this evolving
threat.

China and Japan reaped biggest trade-benefits from U.S. last year: U.S. Department of Commerce - Duration: 2:45.
New data from the U.S. government shows China was responsible for incurring the highest
portion of America's trade-deficit for goods and services last year.
As a result,... it seems Beijing is inching closer to being labeled a currency manipulator
by the Trump administration.
Kim Jung-soo reports.
According to the U.S. Department of Commerce on Tuesday, the U.S. suffered an overall trade
deficit of over 502 billion dollars in 2016, which is four tenths of a percent higher than
2015, and is also the highest in four years.
By far the biggest deficit was with China at more than 347 billion dollars.
In a distant second was Japan at about 69 billion, followed by Germany at 64.
Korea was in seventh at 27-point-7 billion dollars.
One reason for the bigger deficit last year was that exports were hit by a stronger dollar,
which has risen two percent since President Trump's election.
It's something he will likely seek to reverse.
Just days ago, the Trump administration attacked countries including China, Japan and Germany
as currency manipulators.
According to U.S. Treasury standards, a country can be considered a currency manipulator if
it meets three criteria: it needs to have a trade surplus with the U.S. of over 20 billion
dollars, a current account surplus worth more than 3 percent of its GDP, and lastly, it
must exhibit a history of deliberate currency-depreciation.
Last October, under President Obama, the U.S treasury department put six countries -- China,
Germany, Japan, Korea, Taiwan and Switzerland - on its preliminary watchlist used to monitor
'unfair' currency practices.
Some pundits say the latest developments could mean the new administration won't wait until
the treasury department releases its next foreign exchange report in April, but will
go ahead and designate China as a currency manipulator to justify enacting trade retaliatory
measures.
In a statement last Friday, the Chinese government rejected the allegations made by President
Trump:
"China has never used and will not use a currency war to seek advantage in trade or to raise
its competitiveness in trade.
From a long-term perspective this is not beneficial to China."
Korea is not safe from this perception either.
It already meets two of Washington's criteria for a currency manipulator.
But Seoul's finance minister Yoo il-ho said last week that he will consider expanding
imports of raw materials from the U.S - among other options - to prevent it from meeting
all three.

winter sport event began.

The 1 year countdown to the most awaited and celebrated international winter sporting event
finally kicked off.
With the 2018 PyeongChang Winter Olympics just 365 days away, a special ceremony was
held at Seoul Plaza with the attendance of the president of the PyeongChang 2018 organizing
committee, a representative from the International Olympic Committee, and others.
"The cold couldn't stop hundreds of people from gathering here, in front of City Hall,
to celebrate the 1-year countdown to the Winter Olympics."
Set to open on February 9, 2018, the PyeongChang winter games joins in some 30 past summer
and winter games that set a timer before the official opening.
With a unique design and set by the official Olympic timekeeper, this one-of-a-kind digital
clock will keep everyone updated on how much time is left until the games start.
The ceremony also featured traditional Korean music and performances, reminding people that
the upcoming Olympic games are more than just a sporting event.
They will be a platform to introduce the nation's culture and hospitality to the world.
"For the successful hosting next year, it's important to keep up with the schedule.
We wish everyone, as a nation, participates in the event.

Having already hosted the summer Olympic Games in Seoul back in 1988, the 2018 PyeongChang

Independent counsel hits snag after plan to interrogate president leaked - Duration: 2:26.
We start off with the latest on the probe into the massive corruption scandal engulfing
Korea...
A planned in-person interrogation of President Park Geun-hye has been scrapped... after the
top office lashed out at the independent counsel team for leaking details of the arrangement.
Hwang Hojun has more.
The independent counsel team looking into the power abuse scandal has hit a snag.
The presidential office of Cheong Wa Dae has slammed the independent counsel team,... saying
it can no longer be trusted, after details of its plan to interrogate President Park
were leaked late last night.
The team had said during a briefing on Tuesday that it planned to question the president
in person sometime around the tenth of the month.
Soon afterward, media outlets reported the exact time and place of the inquiry,... saying
it was scheduled for Thursday within the presidential office compound.
As a result, the presidential office is now up in arms.
During a phone call with local Yonhap News agency, the presidential office confirmed
it has notified the independent counsel team the in-person questioning will not take place
on Thursday and will continue to negotiate future schedules with the team.
While the interrogation arrangements are back to square one, the counsel spokesperson has
refused to answer questions about the team's next steps.
"Regarding the face-to-face interrogation with the president, we will give you the information
when the right time occurs.
So, while you can continue to ask additional questions regarding that issue, we can't give
you any confirmation.
I'll take other questions now."
The independent counsel has been seeking to question President Park in person, about what
role, if any, she played in a controversial Samsung merger, Samsung's donations to two
government-linked foundations... and the creation of a cultural blacklist,... as well as her
whereabouts on the day of the 2014 Sewol-ho ferry disaster.
Cheong Wa Dae has been demanding the questioning to be behind closed doors.
"Meanwhile, the independent counsel team said it will bring in Choi Soon-sil, the jailed
confidante of President Park and the woman at the center of the corruption scandal for
questioning on Thursday.
As Choi's legal team accepted the summons, this time a short-term arrest warrant will
likely be unnecessary, as opposed to the past couple of summons, when two separate warrants
were issued to compel Choi to appear.

Dear Love of My Life,
I appreciate you supporting me like you always do
Because there are so few People in my corner nowadays.
I appreciate all the ways You uplift me.
You appreciate my creativity And love me like only you know how.
I appreciate your kindness, And the blindness
You take for my flaws.
I appreciate how you pause To open doors,
Lie with me on floors And never stop believing.
I appreciate how you encourage me to be myself and never hide it,
And how you sit On the same side with me when we eat.
That everyone you meet Knows who I am and thinks I'm great
Because it speaks to what you state About me when I'm not around.
And I appreciate how you found The good in me when I couldn't even see
it And you knew I would be it
For you, I would be your wife.
So for the rest of my life I will get to enjoy you.
I appreciate you staying through Ups and downs, highs and lows,
How you took time to plan to propose.
But most importantly I appreciate that you value and respect me.

I'm going to introduce who I am. I'm new here!
My name is Alyssa, Aly for short
It's really nice to meet you guys! I'm excited to be here working with those guys
Which are the days I normally post a video every week? I post on Wednesdays!
Also, make sure you watch out for my other friends, they have their own days of the week
This is basically a short video. It's just introducing who I am and which days I post a video
Now, I will list down some of fun facts about me if you're interested in getting to know a little more about me
Let's get started with the first fun fact about me
In general, I look white right?
Don't let that fool you guys
I'm actually mixed race (multiethnic)
So my mom's fully white. Obviously that's where I get it from
And then my dad's mixed of black and Vietnamese
So that's pretty obvious how I get my hair from
Second fun fact about me - I'm actually a natural redhead
Right now, my hair is dyed obviously
I'm blonde!
While growing up, I was a redhead and it was natural! It was a very rich deep red auburn
I didn't start dyeing my hair after I graduated from high school
I just wanted something different
It was just that normally when I'm out, people would become obsessed with my red hair. It was very repetitive
I just wanted something different if you know what I mean?
I was done with my red hair so for my first time, I dyed my hair black
I stayed with black hair for a couple of months then decided to move on to something else
I decided to go with blonde highlights and I stayed with it for a year
I wanted to leave my hair alone. I wasn't obsessed with dyeing
Then recently last year, I decided to go blonde all the way
That's what pretty much what I've been doing ever since
But the last time I dyed my hair was last summer
I'm just letting my hair grow out. I have my doubts if I should go back to red hair or stick with blonde?
So I decided to leave my hair alone for right now. I'm pretty much satisfied with it
Third is what is my passion/hobby? Photography!
Growing up, I've always loved photography
My dad would always let me use old fashioned cameras like Kodak and/or film cameras!
I would always literally take pictures of everything! I was just in love with it
I noticed that I would rather be behind the camera than being in the picture
I loved it so much while growing up
Till my junior year of high school, my dad gave me my very first DSLR (Nikon)
I was very excited because that year, I was just about to take Advanced Photography and Yearbook
So that was when I was becoming more serious about taking classes and learning more!
After I graduated from high school, it became into a hobby
It wasn't serious like going into business and own my photography place
I rather like for example, if my photography picked up and become popular then I would shift my focus then
But it's not the case, I would rather focus on college
I would always ask my friends to be my models so I could practice
After that, it started to slowly pick up and people would ask me to do their pictures
But business and other stuff like that, I have no idea if I still want it to happen yet
But of course, I still would love to continue doing photography for sure
Fourth one is that many of my good friends already know about this
For the ones who doesn't know, I'm actually a big coffee drinker
It's really true. I'm an addict. I love coffee! I must have coffee every day
I need to have a cup of coffee every morning
Like how would I function for the day, that's where coffee comes in
I'm very dependent on coffee. It's just very addictive
I mean it's almost 6 in the evening and I'm drinking coffee!
Note that most of people would think the usual sugary, full of flavors, frappes, etc
I don't drink that kind of crap. I just don't
I actually drink black coffee with cream (milk) and a little of sugar. That's it!
Or if I go to a coffee place, I would usually ask for espresso shots
I would add a pump of vanilla to balance out the bitterness
That's my usual to go drink
I just really like strong coffee
But not like frappes, steamed milk, fancy drinks, mochas etc
I rather regular black coffee. Period

Oh oh another thing that I really love is sunsets!
So coffee and sunsets - two of my biggest obsessions
I mean obviously if you look at my Instagram (LINK'S IN DESCRIPTION)
Most of the time, I would post sunset pictures!
There's something about sunsets, it makes me very relaxed
Like staying in the moment and the beautiful colors. It's just wow
That's why I love sunsets!
So this is basically a short simple video
You guys will get to know more about me later on in more videos to come
I'm excited! I'm looking forward to getting to know you guys and work with those kids who are involved with this collaboration
