.Studies Show Humans can Communicate Telepathically with Another while They�re Dreaming

Dream telepathy suggests that human beings have the ability to communicate telepathically

with another person while they are dreaming.

And this isn�t a new concept, as scientific interest in telepathy dates back to the fathers

of the psychoanalytic movement. Freud, for example, looked at the implications of telepathy

on psychoanalytic thought.

He also considered dream telepathy, or the telepathic influence of thought on dreaming,

on multiple occasions. Carl Jung believed in the telepathic hypothesis without question,

and even developed a theoretical system to explain �paranormal� events of this nature.

It seems that all great minds encourage the study of various types of non-physical phenomena.

�The day science begins to study non-physical phenomena, it will make more progress in one

decade than in all the previous centuries of its existence.�

Russel Targ, a physicist and author, a pioneer in the development of the laser and laser

applications, and a cofounder of the Stanford Research Institute (SRI) investigation of

psychic abilities in the 1970s and 1980s recently gave a lecture that was cancelled by TED.

According to Dr. Stanley Krippner, professor of psychology at Saybrook University in California:

A wealth of anecdotal and clinical material exist which supports the possibility of telepathic

effects occurring in dreams (Krippner, 1974). However, an experimental approach to the topic

did not become possible until psycho physiological laboratory technology became available. It

was discovered that sleeping research participants awakened from periods of rapid eye movement

(REM) activity were frequently able to recall dream episodes. As a result, it was possible

to request a �telepathic receiver� to attempt dreaming about a target stimulus that

was being focused on in a distant location from a �telepathic sender.�

EXPERIMENTS AND RESULTS In the mid 1960s, Montague Ullman, MD, began

a number of experiments at Maimonides Medical Center in Brooklyn, New York, to test the

hypothesis that people could be primed to dream about randomly selected material.

In other words, they could choose what they wanted to dream about before going to sleep,

and this could include anything, from artwork to movies to photographs and more.

Shortly after these experiments began, Ullman was joined by Stanley Krippner (quoted above),

a scientist with an impressive background in psychology, parapsychology, and dreams.

The experiments they conducted lasted a span of more than 10 years, and �yielded statistically

significant results.�

During the experiments, there was usually a �telepathic sender� and a �telepathic

receiver.� They met in the laboratory for a short period of time before being placed

in completely separate rooms just prior to sleep.

The telepathic sender had an envelope waiting for them in the room in which they�d sleep.

It would contain something like a picture or a drawing. The receivers were then purposely

awakened shortly after Rapid Eye Movement sleep (REM) began so the researchers could

take a dream report.

A VERY SIGNIFICANT SESSION One very memorable and significant session

of dream telepathy experimentation took place where the selected art print was �School

of Dance� by Edgar Degas, which depicts several young women in a dance class.

According to Krippner, the receivers� dream reports included such phrases as �I was

in a class made up of maybe half a dozen people, it felt like a school,� and �There was

one little girl that was trying to dance with me.� These results are fascinating, and

the idea that one can influence another�s dreams opens up a lot of doors.

Although we might not understand the process behind the transfer of information, and we

can�t see this transfer take place from mind to mind, we have proof of it occurring.

This is quite common when we examine scientific studies that have evaluated parapsychological

phenomena � we know what is happening, but not how.

Another significant session conducted by Krippner and Ullman took place on March 15th, 1970.

In this session, a large group of people at a Holy Modal Rounders rock concert was selected

to send something telepathically.

A local media artist by the name of Jean Millay was in charge of readying the telepathic senders

for �target preparation.� She did this with help from the Lidd Light Company, a group

of artists responsible for the light show at the concert.

Millay gave the audience a brief verbal set of directions before the image was flashed

on the large screen that the telepathic senders were looking at.

Six slide projectors were used to project a colour film about eagles and their nesting

habits, as well as information about various birds from around the world (including birds

from mythology, like the phoenix). This all happened at the same time Holy Modal Rounders

were playing their song �If you want to be a bird.�

There were five volunteer telepathic receivers for this experiment, and they were all located

within a 100-mile radius from the telepathic senders. All of the receivers were aware of

the concert location and were told to record their images at midnight, because that was

when the material would be sent to them.

According to Krippner:

One �telepathic receiver,� Helen Andrews, had the impression of �something mythological,

like a griffin or a phoenix.� The second, third, and fourth research participants reported

images of �a snake�, �grapes�, and �an embryo in flames�. The fifth participant

was Richie Havens, the celebrated American singer and recording artist, who reported

closing his eyes at midnight and visualizing �a number of sea gulls flying over water�.

Both Mr. Havens� and Ms. Andrews� reports represented direct correspondences with the

target material.

These are usually the instructions given to subjects who participate in these experiments:

1. You are about to participate in an ESP experiment.

2. In a few seconds you will see a picture. 3. Try using your ESP to �send� this picture

to the receiver. 4. The receiver will try to dream about this

picture. Try to �send� it to them. 5. Then, receivers will be made aware of the

sender�s location.

Below is a great interview with Dr. Krippner and Jeffrey Mishlove, PhD, is author of The

Roots of Consciousness, Psi Development Systems, and The PK Man. Between 1986 and 2002 he hosted

and co-produced the original Thinking Allowed public television series.

Here he describes a series of experiments that ran for ten years during his tenure as

director of the Maimonides Medical Center Dream Research Laboratory in Brooklyn, New

York.

POSSIBLE EXPLANATIONS? Quantum physics has shed light on the vast

interconnectedness of everything in the universe. One possible explanation is quantum entanglement.

For example, consider two electrons that are created together.

If you send one to the other side of the universe, the other will respond instantly, regardless

of their distance from each other. This is one way of interpreting how everything is

really connected in some way. Einstein called it �spooky actions at a distance.�

The truth of the matter is that we have no way to explain how this works. The researchers

involved were only able to observe and record what was taking place, which, again, is very

common for parapsychological phenomenon.

At the same time, these experiments involve dreams, a completely different and altered

state of �reality� that we really don�t know much about. It�s a world separate (or

at least we think is separate) from the world in which we are �awake.� (Although, of

course, the world we perceive when we are awake could very well be just a dream.

PARAPSYCHOLOGICAL PHENOMENA HAVE BEEN PROVEN AND DOCUMENTED ALL OVER THE WORLD

Parapsychological (PSI) phenomena have been studied, documented, observed, and proven

(over and over again) by a number of renowned scientists in laboratories all over the world.

The Department of Defense has had a huge interest in this subject (and has studied it) for a

number of years, yet the scientific study of it is concealed from the public and left

out of universities and mainstream science, which is not fair, and not right.

HONEST: Why Gurus Sell Courses & Reveal "Secrets" on How to Make Money - Duration: 13:15.

Hey, guys.

So today, I want to have an honest discussion with you about something that I know a lot

of people wonder about.

Why do gurus or experts make YouTube videos and sell courses teaching other people how

to make money online?

If it's so profitable dropshipping, why would you teach anyone else how to do it?

And if you can make tens of thousands of dollars a month selling on Amazon, then why would

you show anyone your secrets?

I hear this all the time.

"If I knew how to make $10,000 a month selling on Amazon then I sure as heck would not be

selling how to do it in a $67 a month course."

And something else people understandably worry about is saturation.

If channels like mine go around teaching people how to set up dropshipping stores, won't that

create a flood of competitors copying what I teach, saturating the market, and making

the business unviable?

And look, I understand, because when I first entered this industry, I had friends look

at me and ask me, "Sarah, what do you do?

I want to have your lifestyle too."

And I'd shy away from answering them.

Why?

Well, because I was afraid they were gonna come on in and steal my business away from

me.

But I was actually wrong and it was only later, once I became more established, that I realized

two things.

One, saturation is not a problem and it's not something that we need to be worried about.

But two, income diversification is a problem and it is something that we need to be worried

about.

So there we go.

I've already gone ahead and spoiled the video for you.

That is your answer.

But you probably want more of an explanation so let's jump straight into the video.

Why saturation isn't a problem.

So I'm gonna preface this video that I'm only talking about the two types of business models

that I teach here at Wholesale Ted and that is private labeling on Amazon and dropshipping

in your own store like a Shopify store.

And I wanted to note that because not all business models are above the problem of saturation.

I have personally witnessed more than one online business model become saturated due

to a flood of competitors.

For example, one business model is AliExpress dropshipping on Amazon.

A question people ask quite a lot on this channel is whether it is okay to do AliExpress

dropshipping in an eBay or Amazon store and the answer is no.

No, no, no, no, no.

Do not dropship from China on eBay or Amazon because not only are you gonna get bad feedback,

which is going to get your account banned, but because that market is 100% saturated.

Take Amazon.

On there, you can't even dropship from AliExpress because people are actually buying the products

and shipping them into the FBA warehouses.

Take the self-stir mug, a staple example here at Wholesale Ted.

On Amazon, it's selling for $7.99 with free Prime shipping because competition has massively

driven the price down.

After Amazon's fees of $5.30, the FBA sellers for this mug are only left with $2.70, yet

it costs $6.65 to purchase and ship it to the USA from AliExpress sellers.

So the people selling it are losing money when they sell it on Amazon.

So no, do not try to do AliExpress dropshipping on eBay or Amazon.

That is completely saturated.

But dropshipping in your own Shopify store, no, that is not saturated.

Or private labeling on Amazon, no, that is not saturated.

Even with YouTube channels like mine teaching people how to get started, there is still

tons of room out there for new sellers and I think that there probably always will be.

Why?

Well, it is for two reasons.

One, the barrier to entry is much higher.

Anyone can go and take an AliExpress product and slap it onto Amazon but manufacturing

and shipping your own products into Amazon, well, that is a lot more work.

But going out there and manufacturing your own products and shipping them into Amazon,

well, that is a lot more work and requires a much higher upfront investment.

Or take dropshipping in your own Shopify store.

Setting up that store and running tests for products is a lot more work than slapping

a product on Amazon.

Recently here at Wholesale Ted, we released our premium step-by-step video training course

called the Dropship Club.

It is a step-by-step video training course that teaches you how to create a dropshipping

store from start to finish.

And guess what?

There are over 30 videos inside of it which means that there are over 30 tasks that you

need to do to set up your own store.

And actually, there are a lot more than 30 tasks because of the fact that some of these

tasks, you're going to have to complete multiple times.

For example, one of the videos teaches you our methods for setting up Facebook ads.

In that, I use one product as an example.

Now, the video shows you how to do it for one product but you're going to need to go

ahead and do that for all of the products that you are testing.

Now, some of you may look at this as a bad thing.

You may think, "Oh darn.

I just wanted a free money tree where I didn't have to do any work.

I guess I'll go elsewhere."

And you know what?

You are more than welcome to.

But for everybody else out there that wants to build an actual business, then you should

be happy that this barrier is going to stop most people.

Realistically, as course creators, we are aware of this.

You might find that cynical but the fact of the matter is it isn't.

Consider how many books you bought with the intention of finishing and then didn't.

The authors of the book aren't stupid.

They are realistic.

They know that most people who start the book are not going to finish it.

Of course, they do their best to try to write it in a way so that it captures the attention

of as many readers as possible.

But even the most successful books only have a fraction of their readers finish it.

If Stephen King said, "Nope, I'm not gonna publish this book because most people who

start it are not going to finish it," well, that would be pretty sad for those that did

read it, did love it, and did actually finish it.

The same applies to those of us out there that create courses that teach these business

models.

We do our best to make them as fun and simple and easy to follow as possible, but realistically,

we know that most people are not gonna follow through and that is okay because for those

of you out there that do do that, you can create a business that can transform your

life and that makes it more than worth it.

People are busy.

They come home from school or work tired.

They want to build a business, but unfortunately, life just gets in the way and that's okay.

I don't judge anyone.

Life can be hard sometimes.

But here is something.

Even if the numbers of people that followed through with these courses suddenly quadrupled,

it still wouldn't matter because two, Amazon and Facebook are growing at an insane rate.

Consider this.

The last earnings report from Amazon revealed that they have increased their revenue by

42% and that amounts to tens of billions of dollars.

And consider this.

In the past year, Facebook has acquired hundreds of millions of users.

Every month, more buyers flood Amazon and every month, Facebook adds millions of users

to their database.

When you combine the insane growth of these platforms along with the barrier to entry,

you realize that saturation is not a problem at all.

But there is something to keep in mind.

While the opportunities to sell on these platforms increases at a much higher rate than new sellers

or advertisers, the opportunities to sell generic products or products that don't require

much creativity like the spatula no longer exist.

In the beginning when nobody was private labeling on Amazon, you could manufacture and produce

generic products like a spatula and make a killing.

But that is now no longer the case.

While the opportunities to sell products grow every day, this only applies to niche products

so don't start an Amazon or dropshipping business hoping to sell generic products.

Make sure you focus on selling niche items.

Unfortunately, most people aren't creative.

They just try to copy and sell what other people are doing and sadly, those people won't

succeed.

But if you focus upon finding niche markets, then you will.

So saturation isn't a real problem but something else is.

Why diversification is key.

As I've said before on this channel, I set up my first successful online store when I

was 16 and honestly, I wasn't dropshipping at that point.

I was probably not smart enough to be able to figure out what that was but I was lucky

enough to stumble upon a lucrative opportunity.

I would buy Nintendo DS games, which are video games from the USA, and then I would resell

them in my home country of New Zealand.

In the USA, a game might cost $20 but back home in New Zealand, I could sell it for $50,

$60.

Even after the exchange rate, the profit difference was huge so I started importing these games

in mass from the USA and reselling them back home.

And it was super profitable and as a 16, 17-year-old making bank, I got really, really lazy and

I paid a hefty price for it.

Because a few years later, Nintendo announced that they were no longer gonna keep making

Nintendo DS games and systems.

Instead, they were gonna replace them with this, a Nintendo 3DS.

For those of you out there that don't know much about video games, you might think these

don't sound very different, but trust me, they are.

And Nintendo announced something else.

They're gonna be introducing something with the new 3DS called region locking.

What that meant was that if I bought a 3DS game like this one here in the USA, that I

could not play it on a 3DS system made for New Zealanders.

In other words, Nintendo made it that if you bought your 3DS in New Zealand, that you had

to buy New Zealand 3DS games as well.

Whomp, whomp.

Just like that.

Just like that, my business was destroyed overnight.

And because I hadn't diversified or reinvested my money, I was kind of screwed.

It set me back a couple of years.

I had to go out there and learn how to source products in different ways using wholesalers

and dropshippers, which changed everything.

But guess what?

I should've already been doing that earlier on in my career because I should've been looking

for ways to diversify the way that I was getting my products.

I have never, ever forgotten the lesson of the importance of diversification.

And for me, it was the biggest reason why I started this YouTube channel and I'm sure

it's probably a big reason why most course creators and affiliates and YouTubers start

their own ones as well.

It's because they've already got a successful business and they want to find other ways

to diversify their income and business portfolios.

And because of the fact that we know that there's tons of room for new sellers when

you combine exponential growth with barrier to entry, we aren't afraid of creating some

new competitors.

So teaching it is a really fun way to diversify what we do since, well, I can't talk for other

YouTubers or course creators out there but I absolutely love talking about dropshipping

and Amazon.

The honest truth is something that I have learned is that you never know what's gonna

happen in the future so diversifying is a really smart thing to do.

For me now, because of this channel, I have skills in video creation, creating YouTube

channels, growing them, affiliate marketing, email marketing, and things like that.

And the funny thing is that those skills have crossed back into Amazon and dropshipping

as well.

Something to keep in mind though is that for most of you out there starting your first

online business, diversification is a luxury that you probably, unfortunately, can't afford

to have.

Instead, you should probably pick just one business model and get really, really good

at it.

Once you're really, really good at it, you can then look to diversify your investment

and business portfolio but that is something to think about in the future.

And you know, there's actually a third bonus reason why I teach others and I suspect other

experts and "gurus" out there are doing it as well.

You guys make teaching fun.

It may be cliché but it's absolutely true.

I absolutely love this channel.

I love the community that we've built here at Wholesale Ted and I love making videos

for you guys.

"locker room talk," saying that she "doesn't know any men who brag." But Rush Limbaugh

recently exposed Michelle's words as a blatant lie, where he reminded America how Michelle

was all to eager to invite her cocky rapper friends to the White House in 2016, all friends

of Michelle who make quite a nice living with the vile and disgusting songs they write about

women.

Not only did Michelle's rapper buddies brag through their songs about having sex with

their "b*tches and hoes," but these rappers then performed these songs at the White House,

where Michelle be-bopped along to the tunes, even applauding the rapers for them! Here's

just a few of the "artists" that Michelle Obama widely applauded, whose lyrics all subjugate

and reduce women to mere sex objects for men. Via The American Thinker:

Rick Ross's, "U.O.N.E.O." glorifies date rape with the lyrics, "Put molly all

in her champagne/ She ain't even know it / I took her home and I enjoyed that/ She

ain't even know it." While Ross denies that this was his intended meaning, "molly"

is slang for Ecstasy, a well-known date rape drug, and the context of "molly" in his

lyrics shows clearly that a man put it into a woman's drink without her knowledge or

consent so he could have sex with her. Ross' "Same Hoes" consists primarily of the

F word, a variant of the N word, and "hoes."

Common, whose "Go!" includes, "And a ooh baby she liked it raw and like rain when

she came it poured" along with a variant of the N word and even more sexually explicit

lyrics.

Jay Z, who proclaims, "I've got 99 problems and a b***h ain't one."

Michelle Obama called out Trump's remarks with the words, "What message are our little

girls hearing about who they should look like, how they should act?" Nicki Minaj, another

rapper whom she and her husband brought to the White House, answers that question in

"Hey Mama," "Make sure mama crawls on her knees keep him pleased rub him down be

a lady and a freak" and also "Yes I do the cooking/ Yes I do the cleaning/ Yes I

keep the nana real sweet for your eating/ Yes you be the (boss) yes I be respecting."

Beyoncé's "Partition" includes far cruder and more explicit language, whose sole

redeeming virtue is to remind everybody that Hillary's husband actually did what Donald

Trump talked about. "He popped all my buttons and he ripped my blouse/He monica-lewinski'd

all on my gown," to which she adds, "Hand prints and good grips all on my ass."

Unfreaking real! This woman hardly has room to judge Donald Trump about his "locker

room comment" that he made in private, when she openly celebrates music artists who make

their entire fortunes for the vile and disgusting ways in which they subjugate women. Michelle

needs to immediately dismount from the high horse she's gotten so accustomed to parading

around on, and take a nice long look in the mirror. To throw Michelle's comment about

Trump right back in her face, "What message are our little girls hearing about who they

should look like, how they should act?"

Uncomfortable Sensations

People with RLS are often prompted to shake or stretch their legs out to help relieve

unpleasant and sometimes unusual feelings that those without the problem can't relate

to.

The National Institute of Neurological Disorders and Stroke says these sensations "are often

difficult to define" but can include aching, throbbing, itching, crawling, or "creeping."

The source notes the same sensations can sometimes affect the arms, and in rare instances, the

chest or head.

The feelings can range in severity from patient to patient, from being annoying to outright

painful, it adds.

Urge to Move Around

You should get up and walk around periodically when you have a desk job, but those with RLS

will be prompted to do so when the feelings in their legs become too much to ignore.

Moving the legs will usually curb the urge, at least for a little while.

The National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute says those with RLS will often find themselves

"jiggling" their legs, pacing, walking, stretching, flexing, tossing and turning,

or even rubbing their limbs for relief.

Moving Provides Relief

An important thing to keep in mind is that those with RLS will usually get relief immediately

by giving in to the urge to move around, notes the Cleveland Clinic.

If you don't get relief by moving, then it may be something else you're dealing

with.

The problem can be particularly troublesome for those with desk jobs, or who are on a

long car ride or sitting in a movie theatre.

As we'll get more into next, the problem can worsen as the day approaches night.

Symptoms Get Worse Later in Day

Health.com points out that while you probably experience RLS during the daytime (sometimes

severely), it becomes most bothersome in the evening.

In fact, "Symptoms worsening in the evening is another one of the criteria necessary for

an RLS diagnosis," it adds.

It adds that if your RLS is not at its worse in the later hours, then it might not be RLS

at all.

These symptoms can continue to worsen, even when you're trying to relax and get ready

to fall asleep – which we'll discuss next…

Discomfort Continues During Rest

Those with RLS often feel the worse symptoms when they're inactive for periods of time,

including when they're sleeping.

WebMD explains periodic limb movement disorder that's often linked to RLS is a "repetitive

cramping or jerking of the legs during sleep."

The source says the movements can occur every 20-seconds or so (which may also be an annoyance

to a co-sleeping partner).

These movements can disrupt sleep, and those with this particular condition often feel

tired during the day, adds the source.

Of note is that while 80-percent of people with RLM have the periodic limb movement disorder,

the same is not true in reverse, adds WebMD.

Iron Deficiency May be Related

The University of Maryland Medical Center notes that up to 33-percent of patients with

RLS may have low iron levels, "even at a level too mild to cause anemia."

It may not be from not consuming enough iron-rich foods, either – the source explains there's

research that suggests "that RLS in some people may be due to a problem with getting

iron into cells that regulate dopamine in the brain."

Meanwhile, treatments for RLS often include iron supplements if that problem has been

identified (by a doctor), it adds.

There are other remedies, such as prescription anti-seizure medications that have been shown

to provide relief (but with possible side effects of sleepiness and dizziness), it adds.

There is an Unique Numbering System for the

Washington State K-12 Computer Science Learning Standards

To help organize and track each individual standard,

there is an unique identifier.

The following slides will look at how to interpret

the standard and read the unique identifier

What is a Standard?

Standards reflect what a student

should know and be able to do.

Standards are written by combining select practices

with concept statements to create

the specific performance expectation.

The core concepts are categories that represent

major content areas in the field of computer science.

They represent specific areas of disciplinary

importance rather than abstract, general ideas.

The seven core practices of computer science

describe the behaviors and ways of thinking

that computationally literate students use

to fully engage in today's data-rich and

interconnected world.

The Washington State K-12 Computer Science Learning Standards

Are intended to: introduce the fundamental

concepts of computer science to all students,

beginning at the elementary school level;

present computer science at the secondary

school level in a way that will be both accessible

and worthy of a computer science credit, or,

for the Level 3A courses, as a required graduation

credit for math or science; increase the knowledge

of computer science for all students, especially

those who are members of underrepresented groups.

The legend to interpret the unique identifier

for each is found on page 13 of the Washington

State K-12 Computer Science Standards

These standards provide a three-level

guide for computer science.

The learning outcomes in Level 1 (K-5) will

be addressed cross-curricularly, that is,

in the context of other academic subjects.

The learning outcomes in Level 2 may

be addressed either cross-curricularly or

in discrete computer science courses.

The learning outcomes in Level 3 (9-12) will

primarily be addressed in discrete computer science courses

Level 3A (9-10) represents what all students

should know and be able to do by the time they

graduate high school. Level 3B (11-12) represents the

progression of learning for students who

express an interest

in further study of computer science.

Concepts:

Concepts are what a student should UNDERSTAND or know.

As students revisit key ideas across the grade

bands, they develop increasingly sophisticated

understandings of core concepts and practices.

The progressions have been

set up such that concepts in earlier grade bands

are not required as prerequisites for later grade

bands, but instead provide a background for

richer understanding of later concepts.

A practice is a WAY of doing things: such as computer

scientist decomposes problems as part of doing design

Note that the practices are not by grade bands

students should be exhibiting the practice with

increasing sophistication from Kindergarten to Grade 12

The last digit is the Identifier Number of

the Standard as it relates to the concept and practice.

After an overall structure and layout of

the Washington K-12 Computer Science Standards.

Define processes and activities that may

be utilized in your school or district.

Determine what students need to know by reviewing

the standard and circling the nouns.

Investigate the skills students should know

by circling the verbs which will demonstrate

mastery of this standard. Create Learning

targets demonstrating what students will be

able to do from your reflection and listing of verbs and nouns.

Why might it be important to work with

groups of educators to do this?

The cost of textbooks has increased so much

that schools are now seeking solutions.

While some will shift to digital resources as a way to decrease costs, it is more than

just changing formats. Digital resources must also be

combined with the permissions to take full advantage of

the possibilities to use, share, improve, and preserve content to better serve students.

The WA OER Project is developing a library

of openly licensed K-12 course work that is aligned to WA State standards.

The Office of Superintendent of Public Instruction

(OSPI) launched a open policy that requires all copyrightable intellectual property created

by OSPI employees, contractors, and grantees be openly licensed.

This means the public will be able to use, distribute, and adapt resources from OSPI

programs without getting prior permission from the agency.

Sharing is common place in Education, but

there are specific rules about using the work of others.

Questions to ask about instructional resources are:

Do I have permission to

Download and print this?

Make adaptations?

Share this with my colleagues?

Repost and distribute this material and any

adaptations I make on a wider scale?

Where do I go for answers to these questions?

Copyright is the right to control the copying

and dissemination of an original work.

Where the person wishing to release the OER is the copyright owner of the

entire work, the release of it under a Creative Commons license is straight forward, simply

choose the appropriate CC license depending on jurisdiction, whether commercial use is

to be permitted, and whether derivatives are to be allowed.

It is therefore important that the creator

of the OER ensures that it truly is an "open" resource, by diligently ensuring that a valid

license is applied to the works.

If materials are released as an "open educational resource", and they contain material that

is not properly licensed (whether that is text, a graphic, a photograph, video, music

or any other copyright work), reuse of that non-licensed material is likely to be copyright

infringement by any user of the resource.

This will be the case whether or not they know

that the resource contained copyright infringing material.

User permissions are defined in Open license.

Note that Creative Commons (CC) licenses that include an ND clause (i.e., no derivatives)

are not considered OER.

The key distinguishing characteristic of OER

is its intellectual property license and the freedoms the license grants to others to share

and adapt it.

If a lesson plan or activity is not clearly tagged or marked as being in the public domain

While custom copyright licenses can be developed to facilitate the development and use of OER,

often it can be easier to apply free-to-use standardized licenses developed specifically

for that purpose, such as those developed by Creative Commons.

The terms "open content" and "open educational

resources" describe any copyrightable work

that is licensed in a manner that provides

users with free and perpetual permission to engage in the 5R activities:

Retain - the right to make, own, and control copies of the content

Reuse - the right to use the content in a

wide range of ways

Revise - the right to adapt, adjust, modify, or alter the content itself

Remix - the right to combine the original

or revised content with other material to create something new

Redistribute - the right to share copies of

the original content, your revisions, or your remixes with others.

In order for educational resources to be OER,

they must have an open license.

Many educational resources made available on the Internet are geared to allowing online

access to digitized educational content, but the materials themselves are restrictively

licensed.

Thus, they are not OER.

Open educational resources are and always will be free in digital form, but not all

free resources are OER.

Free resources may be temporarily free or may be restricted from use at some time in

the future.

These free resources may not be modified, adapted or redistributed without express permissions

from the copyright holder are not OER.
