Hello!

I just arrived at Perlé, which is a small village in the north west of Luxembourg

near the Belgian border.

It looks like it's super late but in fact it's 5pm...

So I have an appointment with Shirley, who is doing some « upcylcing ».

It means that she gives a new life to used clothes.

She is going to tell us a little more about that and show me how she works.

I am a stylist and I realized that fashion is very beautiful

but it's super, super polluting.

I just couldn't continue working that way.

I first started using fabrics like organic cotton, hemp.

My supplier, with his falls of production, recreated a new fabric.

So it was 100% recycled fabric.

It allowed me to go into a project called "Madame Ravik".

The idea was to create a brand of clothing from recycled clothes.

They asked several stylists to work on the project.

For me it was really the impulse.

I thought « ok, that's really what I want to do now".

And that's how I really got started with upcycling

At first you worked part-time ..?

Yes, initially I was what is called independent complementary.

So I had a part-time employee job and I was part-time independent.

I think this is one of the best solutions, one of the best options

when you start, to try and see if it is really what you want to do.

When we came back to live here and I had my first boy, I decided

to try to really develop my business.

I am much more fulfilled.

I like what I do, I am convinced by what I do.

Are you happy?

Absolutely, yes, without comparison, I would not go back.

This is probably a naive question, but how is it polluting?

Well, let's start with the culture.

Pesticides…. They are super, super polluting. It also requires

a lot of water.

Tinctures are a disaster.

n China, there are people who no longer have drinking water because of

the textile industry.

Synthetic fibers… The big problem is that they are very difficult to recycle.

We really are in a consumer society and clothes have become disposable.

There's no more season, we change all the time...

We do not look at quality, we look at what we're going to consume.

We are made to believe that we need to consume clothes.

Everything is going much faster now, so we do not have time to produce,

it has to be done in speed

Because I was talking about the ecology, but

there is also the human side that is catastrophic.

In Bangladesh people are in inhumane situations so that

we can buy and throw away what they have created.

When we've worn our clothes and do not want them anymore, we send them back to them?

That's it

Because in clothes collection, there's a part that will go back to thrift shops,

there's also a part of clothes that's going to be shredded to get back into

the industry of insulation, and there's a part of the clothing that is sold to companies

that recycle it in developing countries.

We send them our waste.

So they also overflow with clothes and

no longer need to make their own

So jobs also disappear

The textile industry is the second most polluting industry in the world.

We don't hear about it

And yet, on the ecological side, on the human side, it is dramatic.

We can't just say "it's the lobbies, it's the industry"...

We endorse this industry.

What solutions can be found to consume less or consume differently?

We may buy clothes in stores that are ethical?

Yes, this is one of the first things.

The second thing ...: we have to limit.

We do not need 30 or 40 t-shirts in our wardrobe.

There is also buying in thrift shops or second-hand shops,

where we can also resell our own clothes from time to time

Yes. It can really be quite a circuit.

There is already a circuit that exists and

we can sell, redeem, and so we remain in this circular, local economy.

I think that is the solution today.

There are also clothing brands that offer organic cotton fabrics, which display

their transparency.

So buy less, buy differently ...

And then, maybe, a notion that I feel begins to come back more and more,

a very simple one, which is repair?

Yes.

The big problem now: repairing sometimes costs more than buying.

And that's actually discouraging a lot of people.

So that's why I think: buy quality will make you want to repair it.

We must also recognize local know-how.

Nowadays nobody knows how to sew anymore, even a button.... we do not know how to do,

it is a disaster!

I still call my mother to sew a button!

It's ridiculous, but precisely it should put more emphasis on the know-how

of people who know how to do it.

That's it, but it has been devalued.

It is a job that has no longer been put forward, and so there are no more people who were motivated.

A seamstress here has a lot of trouble making a living.

So it's not appealing, no one wants to do it anymore and it's true

that when you ask for the price, people are not ready.

They say "no, it's crazy, I don't want to pay that much".

My brand is called "Risaïkourou".

It's Japanese, it means "recycling".

When I started to do upcycling I asked

a few people if they had old clothes.

And then, they asked other people and they all found the approach

pretty interesting.

If I did not limit it, well...

Yes you could collect whole houses! Yes.

It has a lot of constraints, and at the same time it's very interesting because

it forces me to develop my creativity as well because I am limited to the quantities.

It's not a fabric by the meter, it's small pieces.

I have to disassemble the garment and I have to do according to the material.

I decided to create bags and pochettes.

The leather is really what motivated me to go on the bags.

I always liked the accessory, I thought how can I exploit these pieces?

Each bag is unique because the leather is different, the jeans I use is never the same.

Not one bag, not one pochette is identical?

No.

It's impossible?

It's impossible! So it has a luxurious side!

Yes, that's also what upcyling actually is.

I really added value to this sofa, this old jeans.

At first I made clothes.

The hardest part with the clothes is that I do not know how to offer several sizes.

Working alone and starting to offer several sizes in upcycling,

it's really difficult.

I make jackets in jeans, and caps too.

So if you take the steps of your work, you have to first collect

either leather or jeans.

Then you clean?

Yes.

So I guess that all that is jeans goes in a classic washing machine?

That's right, jeans is not a problem.

Leather well… it must be wash, it must also be aired.

I rub it with a sponge ....

And then I put a little moisturizer on it because it is ....

Concerning the animal side, is there a reason why

you choose to use leather?

Yeah, the reason is that the material is there.

And I have the impression, perhaps naively .... I continue a cycle

You receive, you wash, either you already have your pattern for what you want to do

or you do something else?

Yes, in these cases I create a new pattern, I start a whole new project.

I found it interesting to show people ... it's mostly women that's why

They can also do upcycling and recycle their old clothes

It's a creative workshop.

It's really not the technique I'm trying to put forward, it's really that

they actually feel free to do what they want.

One of the achievements that is proposed during the workshops is to reuse one's old

socks and transform them into mittens.

That's what the workshops are about: it must be

I would really like to educate young people because I think young people are

So, Today! tadaa I've made some mentai (fish egg) cream pasta (English subs by ~Aphexx~)

This dish is super easy to make all you have to do is put it all into a bowl so

there is really no sauces that rush you so it was very easy to make

~cream pastas are so delish aren't they?~

I love these mentai cream, uni (urchin) cream, and things like ?demino? creams I love em' all

and this mentai cream pasta.....

I feel like I could just eat 5 Litres of just that sauce alrighty lets see how its made

tadaa these are the mentaiko fish eggs

remove the membrane from the fish egg

and boil 1kg of pasta in well salted water

mix together the fish egg with butter thats been sitting at room temperature

add cream and my #BFFMayo together mixing well

then mix well with the cooked pasta

then sprinkle salt to taste

transfer to your serving dish and seaweed, then place some Ooba (perilla leaf) herb on top

once you sprinkle some black pepper---- tadaa the dish is complete!

~OMG so heavy~

I've used a clay bowl so its especially heavy I'll weigh the bowl later and subtract it from the total afterwards

its currently 5.6kg I don't know how much the bowl weighs so I'll tell you the total later

and I've got 1kg of onion milk soup

looks delish! I love that aroma of this Ooba herb

I love a pasta dish that has a bit of Japanese twist to it the sauce has sort of sunk to the bottom....

the saltiness of the mentai egg blends with the cream making something that is truly delish

I was doing a public signing of my photobook a while back and during that signing a fan said she liked my

pasta videos the best and I asked her what kind of pasta?

she responded with cream pasta

everybody loves cream pastas! ~and of course I love cream pasta as well~

another delish bowl of onion soup today

I'm always having onion soups with my pastas

to tell you guys the truth I buy retort packs of soup

and then to that I add milk, salt pepper, some parsley and some consomme cubes to make it suit my tastes

pastas are so great! they're so easy to make and so easy to make tasty

I've been buying my pastas from Amazon as well I buy 5kg packs of them

since I use 1kg at a time I use up those big packs up in only 5 potions

amazon makes things too convenient

plenty of cream

to add an extra depth of flavor I used kelp

its got a slight hint of kelp tea to this... its so tasty

I used 150g of butter to make this today I used up a pack of it at once which came as a surprise

the last little bit.... itadakimasu

this mentai cream pasta was amazingly delish

to top it off it was so easy to make today

I didn't have to use a saucepan or pot to make the sauce I just mixed it in a bowl

and then dropped some spaghetti on top of it its was amazing easy to make

and the sauce was made easily while I waited for the pasta to boil

mentaiko eggs are pretty easy to get a hold of....

they're even sold at convenience store I think... are they? wait they aren't no they are? they are sold at convenience stores right?

they're likely sold there.... YEP

a! AH!

whoa.... this pottery really echoes a lot

the Ooba perilla leaf was a nice touch I feel like Ooba isn't somethng that you'd have laying around

the house but adding just a bit really makes the dish

it even makes ochazuke (rice porridge) tasty and other stuff....

yep.... I'm sure I've told you before but I'll say it again every week I do a livstream of me eating

Homemade Squirrel cake ♡ English subtitles - Duration: 7:19.

Hello! My name is Elena Bazhenova.

I'm glad to welcome you at my kitchen!

Today we will make tender and sweet layer cake – "Squirrel" cake.

Take for the recipe: 100g milled in a meat grinder dark raisins,

200g condensed milk, 125g sugar, 140g wheat flour,

50g hazelnuts (you can use walnuts),

1 tsp baking powder, 125 ml milk,

200 ml heavy cream and 2 eggs.

Take two bowls.

Separate the egg whites from the egg yolks.

Yolks set aside. Take egg whites.

Beat egg whites with electric mixer on high speed.

Add a pinch of salt, to whip whites better.

Add half of the sugar into whipped whites.

Add gradually, whisking.

We made such a fluffy mixture.

Set aside.

Take the yolks.

Add the second half of the sugar to them.

Mix.

Stir sugar with yolks to almost white.

Add the raisins here.

Mix.

Pour the milk.

I will add the milk in parts.

Add the sieved flour and baking powder here.

Gradually knead the batter.

Stir in whipped whites, gently and gradually.

Use a silicone spatula.

The batter is ready.

Take a rectangular pan. I use a lasagna dish 29x17 cm.

Cover with parchment paper, greased with butter.

Pour batter here.

Flatten.

The batter should be on one level.

Put in a preheated to 180°C/360°F oven.

Bake 35 to 40 minutes or until toothpick inserted in center comes out clean.

The wooden stick is dry.

The cake is ready. Take it out from the oven.

The cake became golden at the edges.

Leave to cool.

Now we will make a filling mixture.

Place the heavy cream in a bowl.

Whisk.

Gradually add the condensed milk and continue whisking.

The filling mixture is ready.

Now we need to finely grind the nuts.

Cut the cake into two halves.

Place 1 cake layer, top side up.

Spread with the half of the frosting mixture.

Sprinkle with the chopped nuts.

Place second cake layer, top side up, on nuts.

Lightly press down.

Spread remaining frosting mixture on top of cake and sprinkle with nuts.

Place in the refrigerator for 5-6 hours or until serving time.

Cake is completely cool.

Cream is little frozen.

Cut it into 4 cakes.

Cut crosswise.

The cut of cake turned out very nice.

Cake is soft and delicious.

GazeSpeak: Smartphone-Based Gaze Gesture Communication for People with Motor Disabilities, CHI 2017 - Duration: 4:39.

ALS is a neurodegenerative illness that cause patients to lose

motor control resulting in a locked in syndrome in which patients retain

cognitive function but no longer have the ability to speak or write.

Because eye movement is typically retained into late stages of ALS,

eye gaze is the primary means of communication for this population.

High tech solutions using eye tracking technology

offer a communication solution but cost thousands of dollars.

Additionally, commercial eye trackers rely on infrared cameras

that do not perform well in some situations such as bright sunlight.

E-tran boards are a low cost, low tech solution

used by people who cannot afford expensive eye tracking systems or

used as a backup in settings where eye tracking technology fails.

A caregiver holds up a transparent board that has groupings of letters

and the person with ALS does two eye gestures to select a letter.

The first gaze gesture indicates a grouping and

the second indicates the position of a letter within the grouping.

Using E tran boards is slow and requires practice and skill for

interpreting gaze patterns.

We present a mobile phone application that automates

the E-tran board experience.

Providing a low cost alternative or

supplement to commercial eye tracking systems that is faster and

easier to use than low tech E-tran boards.

To use this system, the interpreter holds the phone and

points the back camera to the speaker with ALS.

A printed key taped to the phone's case

provides a visual indication of letter groupings for the speaker.

Upon first used their is a simple calibration procedure

requiring only a few seconds.

One, eye gaze recognition.

Two, a word prediction engine.

And three, a text entry interface.

For each camera frame our system first detects the presence of a face

by matching the normalized eye image with our calibration gaze templates.

To simplify gesture recognition,

there are only four groupings of letters.

So each up, down, left or

right eye gaze is ambiguous in terms of which letter it may represent.

Similar to other ambiguous text entry systems like T9

our system interprets a series of consecutive gestures

to find all possible words that the sequence may represent.

And displays to the interpreter a rank in vestless

of likely words based on a language model.

In addition to moving the eyes up, down, left,

or right to enter a character, the speaker can

optionally wink their left eye to remove the last character or

wink their right eye to confirm the end of a word.

The interpreter sees all word predictions for

the current word as well as the already confirmed words

from this communication exchange on the phone screen.

The interpreter can speed up typing by selecting a word prediction based

on the context and can use agreed upon eye gestures to confirm this

prediction with speaker then add the work to the growing sentence.

Our app also offers a front facing camera mode which can be used when

the stand or

mount is available to attach the device to a user's wheelchair.

Study results, found that our apps significantly improve communication

So what do they all mean? Well let's start

with the pronouns thee & thou. They both mean

"You" but we use them in different

situations. For example

Thou that's when you is the subject of a

sentence. For example:

Notice how he said "Thou" or "you" ART beautiful"

and not "Thou are beautiful"

It's because verbs were different too.

The verb "Are" back then was "Art". That's why "Thou ART beautiful"

How To Make The Boss Baby Cake | Bad Baby Cake Decorating Fondant Tutorial | Kids Cooking And Crafts - Duration: 14:52.

I am the boss babby.

Today we will be making a boss baby, baby cake.

But I'm not doing the hard work. I'm going to take a power nap, and I'm going to bring my assistant out here to do the work for me.

The boss baby told me that I need to be your guide for this little tutorial today so let's get started.

So today we are going to be using a cookie sheet, some different colors of fondant, some cakes, frosting, a rolling pin and a cake leveler.

We want all of our cakes to be the same height so I'm going to use this cake leveler to just cut them out.

It's kind of like a little saw.

You just put it back and forth, back and forth.

Slowly push forward.

And then you take the top off.

Like that. And it's a level cake!

Ahhhh!

It's a lot like a saw to cut down your Christmas tree.

Only, it's for cakes.

This insures that they're all the same height.

Now we're going to put our two cakes together like this.

And voila.

And that's our baby body and baby head.

We're going to do the head first.

I'm just going to get this and put it there.

To a little spinning board.

Okay now let's grab some frosting.

And Ker-Plop.

I'm just going to frost out the whole thing so the two layers can stick together.

Annnnnd ker-plop.

Now we're just going to frost the entire thing.

I just used a little bit of white frosting and some brown food coloring to give it that little tint of brown to make it look like the boss baby's skin.

Alrighty now we're done frosting the boss baby's head.

Alrighty, now we're going to make the face with the fondant.

Let's start with the eyes.

So I finished molding out two of the eyes.

Because I got my eye on you, baby.

Boss baby.

I made these half circles out of the fondant and we're going to put them right towards the middle.

Now I'm going to use the black fondant to make the pupils in his eyes.

I finished making two more of these half circles to go on the inside of the white.

Okay I got the eyeballs.

Now I'm just going to put the little cute sweet glint in his eye.

using this green fondant.

Fondant is like edible play-doh, you can do a whole bunch of different things

We made a whole bunch of different cakes using this fondant.

Now we're going to put on some eyebrows to give him some expression.

Because he's a grumpy boss baby.

I'm going to be using this brown fondant.

This color is going to be for his eyebrows and his hair.

I'm just going to set this other eyebrow down.

Now we're just going to make him look really concerned like.

And put two little lines going down.

Perfect.

Now I'm just going to use this matching skin color fondant to make a cute little button nose like all the cute little babies out there.

Ohhhh he looks awesome.

Now for the mouth.

He has more of a smirk than a smile.

I'm going to try and get that.

ah-ha!

Now for some baby hair.

What makes the baby hair look like baby hair is it's little curl.

Boss baby face completed.

Now for his suit.

so I attached our little cakes onto the boss babies head then rapped it in black fondant.

I just barely rolled out this white fondant with my rolling pin and now I'm just going to lay this over the top to make his shirt.

Boss babies always wear ties.

So I made one out of fondant.

It matches mine nicely don't you think?

Yes! Perfect!

You can't look fancy without a collar so I made these two little triangles that will go up right next to the tie.

Also bosses always wear suit coats.

So I just made these half circles out of the black fondant and I'm going to just lay them right over that white part connecting to the collar.

This looks amazing.

You guys this is amazing.

So basically what I did now is I shaped some little tiny baby arms and baby hands that I'm going to attach to the cake with toothpicks.

Now for the hands.

This is the finishing touch.

I just cut out some little baby feet out of the fondant and now I'm going to lay it right on top of the suit.

That looks amazing.

That is so funny.

Now that is a boss baby.

I think this cake looks awesome.

I want to see what boss baby thinks.

【MUKBANG】[Recipe] Amazing Creamy Mentaiko Spaghetti & Onion Milk Soup, 4.5Kg, 9022kcal[CC Available] - Duration: 5:49.

So, Today! tadaa I've made some mentai (fish egg) cream pasta (English subs by ~Aphexx~)

This dish is super easy to make all you have to do is put it all into a bowl so

there is really no sauces that rush you so it was very easy to make

~cream pastas are so delish aren't they?~

I love these mentai cream, uni (urchin) cream, and things like ?demino? creams I love em' all

and this mentai cream pasta.....

I feel like I could just eat 5 Litres of just that sauce alrighty lets see how its made

tadaa these are the mentaiko fish eggs

remove the membrane from the fish egg

and boil 1kg of pasta in well salted water

mix together the fish egg with butter thats been sitting at room temperature

add cream and my #BFFMayo together mixing well

then mix well with the cooked pasta

then sprinkle salt to taste

transfer to your serving dish and seaweed, then place some Ooba (perilla leaf) herb on top

once you sprinkle some black pepper---- tadaa the dish is complete!

~OMG so heavy~

I've used a clay bowl so its especially heavy I'll weigh the bowl later and subtract it from the total afterwards

its currently 5.6kg I don't know how much the bowl weighs so I'll tell you the total later

and I've got 1kg of onion milk soup

looks delish! I love that aroma of this Ooba herb

I love a pasta dish that has a bit of Japanese twist to it the sauce has sort of sunk to the bottom....

the saltiness of the mentai egg blends with the cream making something that is truly delish

I was doing a public signing of my photobook a while back and during that signing a fan said she liked my

pasta videos the best and I asked her what kind of pasta?

she responded with cream pasta

everybody loves cream pastas! ~and of course I love cream pasta as well~

another delish bowl of onion soup today

I'm always having onion soups with my pastas

to tell you guys the truth I buy retort packs of soup

and then to that I add milk, salt pepper, some parsley and some consomme cubes to make it suit my tastes

pastas are so great! they're so easy to make and so easy to make tasty

I've been buying my pastas from Amazon as well I buy 5kg packs of them

since I use 1kg at a time I use up those big packs up in only 5 potions

amazon makes things too convenient

plenty of cream

to add an extra depth of flavor I used kelp

its got a slight hint of kelp tea to this... its so tasty

I used 150g of butter to make this today I used up a pack of it at once which came as a surprise

this mentai cream pasta was amazingly delish

to top it off it was so easy to make today

I didn't have to use a saucepan or pot to make the sauce I just mixed it in a bowl

and then dropped some spaghetti on top of it its was amazing easy to make

and the sauce was made easily while I waited for the pasta to boil

mentaiko eggs are pretty easy to get a hold of....

they're even sold at convenience store I think... are they? wait they aren't no they are? they are sold at convenience stores right?

whoa.... this pottery really echoes a lot

the Ooba perilla leaf was a nice touch I feel like Ooba isn't somethng that you'd have laying around

the house but adding just a bit really makes the dish

it even makes ochazuke (rice porridge) tasty and other stuff....

today I received this pink velvet cami and

and this long dress from shein so

i decided to show you guys 3 outfits that are under appx $50 with just 5 items

i hope you guys enjoy this video

let's start with look no 1

the skirt is from GU and the price of this was appx $10

the pink velvet cami is from SHEIN and it is appx $10

the bomber jacket is also from GU but I couldn't find the exact one but the price of similar jacket was appx $30

i wore a velvet texture chocker to match my top

i chose this not too formal but not too casual shoes since the look is in the middle of casual and formal

denim skirts can get too casual sometimes but just by adding this velvet top

it looks a little more formal but

to make it not too formal I wore this jacket

so I really think this outfit is just in the middle

for look no2 ,I just added a tshirt and took away the jacket from the previous look

i think this has more of a grunge vibe too it

like the previous one was more feminine

this is more on the grungy side

this t shirt is from UNIQLOand it was appx $8

everything is under $10 but it doesn't look cheap at all

it looks fashionable!

this t shirt comes close to the neck so

the chocker I wore previously would be too thick and I wanted to add more of a grungy vibe to it so insted I added

this black leather looking think chocker

To make this more grungy, I chose these shoes

for this look, I wore the same jacket from look 1 and paired it with a dress that I got from SHEIN

this dress is appx $20

you can of course make this dress to look formal

but I wanted to be more of a everyday wear so

I wore the jacket from look 1 and I also wore a necklace that has a shoe on it and I also wore a baseball cap

the shoes are also from look 1 it's the not too casual but not too formal shoes

i actually wanted to wear a sandal from adidas

but as you can see, it's really long

so that was a little bit disappointing

but other thna that it looks really good and

look at the back

it has a little bit of a reveal at the back

it could look a little bit too stuffy with a long dress especially when it's black

it has slits on the side of your legs and

on your back

so it looks really good

I also did a lookbook when I received some items from SHEIN

but I ordered a size medium and it was a little bit too big so

i wanted this velvet cami in small but it was sold out so

i got a size medium and it was a little bit big again

so like the velvet top, I wanted this dress in a small as well from my las experience

especially because I wanted this to be tight

and this fitted me really well

but as I showed you guys, it's little bit long

and I am 162.4cm so I'm not small like I'm not tall but I'm not short

like I said in my previous look book, SHEIN has measurements on their websites so

if you want to be precise you can measure yourself

so yea today I showed you guys 3 outfits that are under $50 with just 5 items

you wear clothes everyday so

for me, I like to buy cheap clothes from GU, UNIQLO or SHEIN

and just wear it without any care

Hello!

I just arrived at Perlé, which is a small village in the north west of Luxembourg

near the Belgian border.

It looks like it's super late but in fact it's 5pm...

So I have an appointment with Shirley, who is doing some « upcylcing ».

It means that she gives a new life to used clothes.

She is going to tell us a little more about that and show me how she works.

I am a stylist and I realized that fashion is very beautiful

but it's super, super polluting.

I just couldn't continue working that way.

I first started using fabrics like organic cotton, hemp.

My supplier, with his falls of production, recreated a new fabric.

So it was 100% recycled fabric.

It allowed me to go into a project called "Madame Ravik".

The idea was to create a brand of clothing from recycled clothes.

They asked several stylists to work on the project.

For me it was really the impulse.

I thought « ok, that's really what I want to do now".

And that's how I really got started with upcycling

At first you worked part-time ..?

Yes, initially I was what is called independent complementary.

So I had a part-time employee job and I was part-time independent.

I think this is one of the best solutions, one of the best options

when you start, to try and see if it is really what you want to do.

When we came back to live here and I had my first boy, I decided

to try to really develop my business.

I am much more fulfilled.

I like what I do, I am convinced by what I do.

Are you happy?

Absolutely, yes, without comparison, I would not go back.

This is probably a naive question, but how is it polluting?

Well, let's start with the culture.

Pesticides…. They are super, super polluting. It also requires

a lot of water.

Tinctures are a disaster.

n China, there are people who no longer have drinking water because of

the textile industry.

Synthetic fibers… The big problem is that they are very difficult to recycle.

We really are in a consumer society and clothes have become disposable.

There's no more season, we change all the time...

We do not look at quality, we look at what we're going to consume.

We are made to believe that we need to consume clothes.

Everything is going much faster now, so we do not have time to produce,

it has to be done in speed

Because I was talking about the ecology, but

there is also the human side that is catastrophic.

In Bangladesh people are in inhumane situations so that

we can buy and throw away what they have created.

When we've worn our clothes and do not want them anymore, we send them back to them?

That's it

Because in clothes collection, there's a part that will go back to thrift shops,

there's also a part of clothes that's going to be shredded to get back into

the industry of insulation, and there's a part of the clothing that is sold to companies

that recycle it in developing countries.

We send them our waste.

So they also overflow with clothes and

no longer need to make their own

So jobs also disappear

The textile industry is the second most polluting industry in the world.

We don't hear about it

And yet, on the ecological side, on the human side, it is dramatic.

We can't just say "it's the lobbies, it's the industry"...

We endorse this industry.

What solutions can be found to consume less or consume differently?

We may buy clothes in stores that are ethical?

Yes, this is one of the first things.

The second thing ...: we have to limit.

We do not need 30 or 40 t-shirts in our wardrobe.

There is also buying in thrift shops or second-hand shops,

where we can also resell our own clothes from time to time

Yes. It can really be quite a circuit.

There is already a circuit that exists and

we can sell, redeem, and so we remain in this circular, local economy.

I think that is the solution today.

There are also clothing brands that offer organic cotton fabrics, which display

their transparency.

So buy less, buy differently ...

And then, maybe, a notion that I feel begins to come back more and more,

a very simple one, which is repair?

Yes.

The big problem now: repairing sometimes costs more than buying.

And that's actually discouraging a lot of people.

So that's why I think: buy quality will make you want to repair it.

We must also recognize local know-how.

Nowadays nobody knows how to sew anymore, even a button.... we do not know how to do,

it is a disaster!

I still call my mother to sew a button!

It's ridiculous, but precisely it should put more emphasis on the know-how

of people who know how to do it.

That's it, but it has been devalued.

It is a job that has no longer been put forward, and so there are no more people who were motivated.

A seamstress here has a lot of trouble making a living.

So it's not appealing, no one wants to do it anymore and it's true

that when you ask for the price, people are not ready.

They say "no, it's crazy, I don't want to pay that much".

My brand is called "Risaïkourou".

It's Japanese, it means "recycling".

When I started to do upcycling I asked

a few people if they had old clothes.

And then, they asked other people and they all found the approach

pretty interesting.

It has a lot of constraints, and at the same time it's very interesting because

it forces me to develop my creativity as well because I am limited to the quantities.

It's not a fabric by the meter, it's small pieces.

I have to disassemble the garment and I have to do according to the material.

I decided to create bags and pochettes.

The leather is really what motivated me to go on the bags.

I always liked the accessory, I thought how can I exploit these pieces?

Each bag is unique because the leather is different, the jeans I use is never the same.

I really added value to this sofa, this old jeans.

At first I made clothes.

I make jackets in jeans, and caps too.

either leather or jeans.

I would really like to educate young people because I think young people are
