WELCOME to another episode of The Grumpy Nerd, today's episode is about The End of The

F *** ing World, a Netflix series that is making the head of the kids.

And this new opening?

You like it?

And that sound in the background?

These changes in the channel only happened because of their support, in Apoia.se and Padrim,

I thank you very much to all who help the channel, and very soon I'll start

to draw gifts among the godfathers godfathers.

Another thing that supporters will receive is exclusive information, advanced

about the movies and the series that I watch before.

For example, I've watched Altered Carbon and supporters already know what I found out of this

new Netflix series.

But for civilians I can only speak after January 22nd ...

So let's talk about The End of The F *** ing World!

The End of The F *** ing World is a series of English channel Channel 4 that could have

past completely unnoticed from the radars, but as soon as it fell on Netflix it became a

event.

Legend has it that director Jonathan Entwistle found a few pages of a story

comic in a trash can, side outside a comic shop in London,

about a couple of troubled teenagers.

He self-diagnosed psychopath, and his goal is to kill someone.

She is a confused young woman with her own life after separation from her parents.

The two meet at school and after some problems decide to leave the world,

in search of the girl's father.

The comics were called The End of the Fucking World, published by the creator himself, Charles

Forsman in 2013, and there's no denying that Forsman's art minimalism works

very much like a sort of storyboard.

Entwistle contacted Forsman via email, the two worked together on the TV adaptation

and in 2014 he managed to produce a pilot for Channel 4.

I've tried to find this pilot on the internet to watch, but it's a nearly impossible task.

If someone finds it please send me the link.

The pilot stayed in the drawer for almost seven years, until they got the green light for the series

in eight parts that is now available on Netflix.

Of the pilot only actress Jessica Barden continued as Alyssa, and she is sensational in the paper.

So did Alex Lawter in the role of James.

The curious thing is that the series is English, but comics are American, so aesthetics

visual is a mixture of the two cultures.

Probably for the Brazilian public this does not make much difference, but this mixture

of environments creates a fantasy universe close to the language of the Coen brothers.

And the director is clearly a fan of them and has been influenced by several films, such as

Fargo, Thelma and Louise, Pulp Fiction, Blue Velvet and even the Twin Peaks series.

And the series script itself is written in an unusual way, and the success that series

example of how people are eager for copywriting, far from the

American storytelling, without those beautiful actors who are all equal and save

the world every week.

The more the End of the F *** ing World, is the kind of language we need.

So I went there to browse and read comics to better understand the product I watched.

Taking a comic and converting it to another medium is very difficult and almost

we can never demand fidelity, there are several elements that work in a medium that

do not work on another.

It is necessary to make adaptations, some subtle others, not to change anything is practically

impossible.

In comic books, for example, James injured his hand in the trash crusher in the sink and lost

two fingers, while in the series he thrust his hand into boiling oil.

Some characters that did not exist in the comics were created to help develop the

plot series, and others that existed now have different personalities, but in general

director Jonathan Entwistle was able to deliver a very faithful work on history

original.

One thing that changes is that in the comics there is a clear ending, we know what happens

with the characters, already in the series the plot leaves everything open for a possible second,

third, fourth season.

And that can be a problem.

The first season of The End of the F *** ing World is great because it does not travel much and respects

the original.

For a second season you will need to work very closely with the creator Charles

Forsman, not to lose the original characters of the comic book characters,

so well transposed to the tv.

These characteristics are the basis of the series' success, which of course goes far beyond that,

but they must be respected.

Visually the comics are presented in black and white and with very simple traces,

while reading I got caught up in the sensation of reading a dark version of the comic strips

of Snoopy.

And this simplicity in the dash does not give a visual north for the series, so the director

decided to try peculiar elements.

In an interview he said that the idea was to seek the aesthetics of the 90s, and if that was

even he hit the target well.

But experimentation goes well beyond this and we enter into a much larger universe.

Halfway through the season our heroes need to disguise themselves and James goes

to wear a flowery T-shirt and Alyssa is blonde, and the two suddenly become versions

of Tarantino characters.

They become clearly the Clarence and the Alabama, from Love to Burning Clothes or Pumpking

and Honey Bunny, from Pulp Fiction - who for those who do not know are the same characters,

Tarantino has this habit of reusing characters in his scripts.

And just like the Tarantino characters, James and Alyssa become fugitives and pass by.

to act outlaw out of necessity.

More than a Bonnie and Clyde of the 21st century, the series becomes a Thelma and Louise

of the 21st century, and is far from being a nihilist.

The two characters follow in a shadowy comedy of errors and each episode plunges

more and more in trouble and suddenly it's completely impossible to escape them.

The plot, from the beginning, makes it very clear that we will not have a happy ending.

A more or less inevitable comparison is with 13 Reasons Why, another series from Netflix

with troubled teens, but one thing is one thing, another thing is something else.

of people I met in my teens who acted just like them.

I'm sure I've met at least two Alyssa's in my teens.

two hours and forty

There is one moment or another more drawn, here and there, but nothing to hinder your enjoyment.

It is as good as the series and even more tense in some moments.

However, the most effective way is still being the example on how to live a happy life and

sharing the knowledge of how you did it instead of wishing something for them or telling them

what they should do.

Time is Energy Some law of attraction experts will tell you

that you should set a concrete deadline for your wish to manifest, others will argue that

you should make your wish and release it into the energy field.

You can just treat time as an energy of a certain frequency.

Understanding the concept of time is very important to wish manifestation.

Intricate wishes may need a certain amount of time to come true while other simple wishes

may become a reality in a matter of weeks, days or even hours.

Follow the Signs Many people forget to follow the signs after

I stopped uploading for a few months

I think for longer than I actually had been uploading on it

But all the videos I posted were in English

but I am very much into organic skincare

and I don't see how it could be useful

to talk about it in English

since the majority of the products I use

and I will talk about

are from Italian brands

that you can only find here in Italy

so it doesn't make any sense to me

to talk to a non-Italian audience

about these products

As far as makeup goes, instead

I use many different things

so these topics are very different

I could upload more videos in English

a couple of skincare favorites

if I said I have a favorite for each category

actually, to be honest

I didn't discover many exciting products this year

so the things I am mentioning now

are thing that I truly love

Let's start off with my most beloved product

ever

and it's the Masquerade mini palette by Juvia's Place

the palette by Juvia's Place

that, in case you don't know it

looks like this

and this is the mini version

I choose the smaller one because

it already seems pretty big to me

I actually only used this product for one month

because I got it on Black Friday

with the Black Friday sales

So I only really used it in December

but I loved it so much

that I had to mention it in my favorites

to me this is revolutionary

The formula of these shadows is very different

because they're not as buttery

as what we are used to

with brands that are more expensive

but I don't think it is due to the price

to the different price range

which is lower for Juvia's Place

definitely lower

but I think they did it on purpose

Let's say that

Even if it's a little bit rougher to the touch

it actually performs incredibly well

as far as the mattes,

they are extremely blendable

much better than the ones I own

from Too Faced and Urban Decay

They blend easily

Since the first moment I tried them

I was almost shocked

from how easily I could blend them

even if I'm not a professional MUA

I love makeup, just like many girls

and boys out there

but I'm not that good with makeup in general

but I almost felt like a professional MUA

when using these matte eyeshadows

As far as the shimmers go

I apply them with my fingers

I rarely use brushes for that

And I think they are incredibly pigmented

and very easy to use

I love this palette so much

As far as I'm concerned

Even if I'm not in the mood everyday

for a very colorful look

or a metallic colorful look

but at the same time

I'm getting more into that

and personally

When I look at this palette

I am inspired to use it and to create

a different, more special look

And by the way what's an "everyday look"?

It depends on your personal taste

When I'm not working I can use these eyeshadows

every day

I mean, for my "everyday" looks

I can't talk properly

Anyways, really, these shadows are incredible

For the price, I really recommend trying it

I adore it, I adore it so much

And it's also very compact

simple

It doesn't have a mirror, I don't care

It's just my favorite product of 2017

even if I only had it for one month

maybe it's not fair but

if I didn't have it in my collection

I'd be very, very sad

I would totally repurchase it

That was my first makeup product,

I don't have many, so let's go on

This is the Wet n Wild highlighter called

the MegaGLO highlighting powder

in Precious Petals

I mentioned this one on my channel before

but in my videos in English

I'm not going to swatch it because

with this lighting it wouldn't come off well

and I think you can still see it

from the packaging

It's a peachy highlighter

It doesn't look natural on the skin

Maybe that's the biggest flaw

Because when you apply it it's clearly there

But I was surprised

This formula is so good especially for the price

I think I paid less than 5 euros for this

I think this is really good

and probably one of my all time favorite highlighters

even if

I own highlighters that are more expensive

I don't have many,

I have Opal by Becca

And that one has a more natural finish

but I prefer the color of this one

It's personal preference

If your complexion is similar to mine

this could work very well for you

In summer I get quite tan

and I could pull this off

and even now that I'm a bit fairer

I can use it

I think this is excellent

and I loved it

so this is definitely my favorite highlighter for 2017

Another makeup product, this is very random

but I really want to give it a shoutout

This is the eye primer by Smashbox

The 24 hour photo finish primer

you got it

I would definitely repurchase this product

It's been lasting me a long time

So even if it's more expensive I think it is worth it

And among all the eyeshadow primers I have tried

even the more expensive ones

even the Urban Decay one

so it's not like I only tried Essence and Smashbox

I also tried more expensive brands

I think this is the best, hands down

I have been comparing this and the Milani one

and I have to say that one works well too

but I love the texture of this one more

It's silicon based so it's not sticky

and it allows you to blend your eyeshadow very well

but at the same time it's not too slippery

It's just the right texture

I can't show it to you because I have so little left

that if I squeeze it

the product I have left comes out

I'm so sad and unfortunately

I can't buy it right now

because I have other primers to go through

but I love it so much, so

if you find that your eyeshadow creases

or disapperars throughout the day

this works very well for that

I'd recommend it to anyone

Next I have the Lippie Stix by Colourpop

in the shade Aquarius

I love it

I guess you've heard about Colourpop

But this color is

a pinky nude shade

I think the colors are wrong because

I'm filming at 6 pm

with artificial lighting

I'm sure you can find the swatches everywhere

The formula is creamy

so it's not incredibly long lasting

Canada's laws around HIV criminalization don't make sense - Duration: 3:25.

For years activists have been saying that

Canada's laws around HIV disclosure

just don't make a lot of sense.

Canada's approach to the criminalization of HIV

is unjust, unscientific, and

it undermines public health.

In December, the federal government

and Ontario took some major steps

towards reform.

But before we get to that,

maybe we should talk about why

Canada's laws around HIV are

a little bit bonkers.

For many years now, Canada has

convicted hundreds of people

for not telling their sexual partners

that they're HIV positive.

And on its face, that might

make a lot of sense.

Many people would think it's wrong

to not tell someone you're having sex with

that you have a chronic infection that

could put their health at risk.

Most people who are charged

are charged with aggravated

sexual assault which is

criminal law speak for...rape.

But here's the thing,

for a lot of people who are convicted

it was essentially physically

impossible for their sexual

partner to get HIV

and we know that because

of a magical thing we call...

science.

Recent researchers have shown that

if you've been properly taking your

HIV meds for a while

you're essentially no longer infectious

to other people even if you don't

use a condom.

In other words,

we've been putting a lot of people

in prison for rape even though

they didn't actually cause harm

to anyone.

And there was practically zero

risk that they could cause harm to anyone.

And because of the way the law's evolved

we've now started putting people in

prison for not telling their partners

that they have herpes

which, while embarrassing,

definitely 100 percent

cannot kill you.

After the United States and Russia,

Canada convicts the most people

for HIV non-disclosure.

There have now been over 200

prosecutions in Canada

which is one of the highest rates

of HIV criminalization in the world.

And usually, Canada likes to be

a world leader, but

in this case it's probably not

a record we want to be proud of.

So let's get back to those changes

that the feds in Ontario announced.

In a big report in December

the federal government finally admitted that

science is a real thing

and it's probably not a great idea

to keep putting all of these folks in prison

for something that essentially

couldn't hurt anyone else.

And Ontario said that they won't

be prosecuting people

as long as they've been uninfectious

for six months, use a condom,

or just engaging in some

good old-fashioned oral sex.

So that's good, right?

Well...yes

but there's still a lot of problems

with the current system.

For one, only Ontario

has announced they'll be changing anything.

And despite what a lot of

Torontonians might believe,

there are in fact a whole bunch of other

provinces in Canada.

Saskatchewan has twice the rate

of new HIV infections

as the rest of the country.

And the conservative government there

is still saying no to safe injection sites.

Are they going to ease up on prosecutions?

It seems pretty unlikely.

The same goes for Manitoba

and other provinces.

So why doesn't the federal government

just actually change the criminal law?

After all, they're the ones in charge.

If the federal government

actually believes the science,

they should follow through on that

and amend the Criminal Code

so that we stop putting people in prison

for doing something that can't actually hurt

anyone.

Box Office for Three Billboards, Call Me By Your Name, SAG Awards & Oscars 2018 - Duration: 9:50.

hello and welcome to this week's movie math where first off I have to say I

really enjoy talking about the box office with you every week because even

when it seems at first glance like there's absolutely nothing happening and

I got a little nervous when I sat down to write the script for this late last

night I was like look there's got to be a pony in there somewhere that's an old

saying when you're dealing with a pile of poop there's a pony in there maybe

somewhere and I have to say I'd I got a couple ponies I think there's some

really interesting stuff going on here if you take a closer look so as for the

weekend what we're really dealing with here is several movies playing out and

what has become a closed system and what I mean by that is that this year

Hollywood didn't bother to gamble with a wild card like split and Kevin Hart was

already taken off the board with Jumanji although interestingly this means that

historically he's earned this title winter is truly Kevin Hart movie season

that's pretty nice for him if I were his agent I would you know send out a little

card to everyone or email and be like did you notice this because we certainly

have that would maybe bring his price up a little bit but anyway essentially

there is no big new movie and during the marketplace until February 9th after

Super Bowl weekend because in America which again is the biggest movie going

audience in the world recently challenged by China but still America is

the biggest everyone focuses on the Super Bowl all weekend long even though

it's only on Sunday night because there's a lot of party planning involved

and of course it's a huge night for movie trailers and that takes up a lot

of the discussion as well I'm very excited as I'm sure you are as well only

lions gates Winchester is going to try and counter programming then that's oh

that's a smart move it's a small horror movie and again since nothing else is

opening they should be able to you know make a little bit of cash so yeah things

can be pretty quiet for the next two weeks which means an intense cash grab

opportunity for what's already out unless your awards fair because it

doesn't seem to be able to interest movie goers whatsoever even though it's

dominating the headlines that might be again fascinating this might be a side

problem with all the help clinical award season has become right

it's wonderful that it's shining a light on some important issues but a warrant

season is supposed to shine a light on the movies that are being honored and

that's not really happening you know it's almost like a secondary headline a

sub-headline would actually want it's everyone cares more about well I guess

what's everyone what political thing everyone talked about what they were

wearing and then what movies one that's that's

unfortunate and it's also not great for these movies box office

although phantom thread of course is really not getting a lot of nominations

period but anyway fandom thread and call me by your name expanded this weekend to

around 800 theaters that's pretty good but they showed little evidence and the

numbers they delivered that they should expand further you know you test the

waters and if you get a good pursuit or average with your first large expansion

then you keep expanding I'm not surprised with phantom thread because

it's really been a no-show there's season but call me by your name that's

kind of sad also Megan Ellison has truly killed Paul

Thomas Anderson's career and now it looks like she's taking Daniel down

Daniel day-lewis as well I don't understand why everyone in Hollywood at

least the authors haven't realized that she's their very own siren luring them

with seductive wads of cash and creative freedom into the choppy waters of

working with an inexperienced producer only for them to crash and break apart

upon the rocks with no guidance right it's pretty clear also it's not just

those two movies I Tanya and the shape of water also added theaters but still

suffered slight drops and then darkest hour and three billboards three

billboards lost some theaters and they suffered even bigger drops you would

think that three billboards will be going up and up and up considering that

Hollywood has decided it's the best movie of the year

Hollywood has said this is the best that we have to offer and an audience is

still said you know what hard pass it's so bad I mean this year's Oscar ratings

are going to be so low unless Wonder Woman and or Logan get a nomination or

two or maybe get out has a very strong showing

and I'm sure ABC is praying for one of those things to happen now as for the

mainstream flakes Jumanji continues to be the king of the jungle and has now

passed Skyfall domestically to become Sony's

fifth biggest movie of all time again after their core spider-man

these I don't know why they haven't announced a Jumanji 2 yet perhaps

someone's holding it up someone actually could be to someone's are holding up the

deal in terms of wanting to get gets paid but anyway for 2017 its climbed to

number 7 domestically that's amazing and it's close to unseating pirates 5

worldwide for the number 10 spot for the year

now speaking of top tens as I predicted last week the last Jedi easily surpassed

frozen take the number 9 spot on the worldwide all-time list that's just an

undeniable win but despite all that cash or maybe because of it the peeps at

Lucasfilm are losing their cool with the detractors Rian Johnson continues to

defend the movie aggressively let the cash do the talking Ryan and now one of

the story people at Lucasfilm is also weighing in on social media you know

Kathleen Kennedy I understand that you don't want to get involved with all of

this publicly right but you still need to leave behind the scenes because right

now your people are running around like chickens with their heads cut off or

pork's I love ports boards didn't really catch on that's amazing to me the whole

movie I mean people are more interested in whether the discussion is whether not

Star Wars the last Jedi is a good movie it's just take it up all the air in the

room no one's really discussing anything else and I'm surprised considering there

are so many people who do support the movie that instead of fighting the

detractors Disney just doesn't shift the spotlight onto the positive comments

right I mean they have friends in the press I'd be like right be a positive

article for pete's sake and then the press would probably say if no one's

going to click on that article you know that's where the problem comes in I

liked it but I think I really do feel it's like

Batman V Superman a lot of people liked it but you can't deny that a lot of

people hated it and it's potentially damaging and again we have to wait and

that's that's another part of the frustration we're not gonna have a

verdict on this until episode 9 Star Wars I mean Han Solo to some degree but

we have to wait until 2019 to understand how this all played out oh that's a long

time to argue about something although we managed to do it for the DC EU we're

still doing it alright and once again the greatest showmen had the smallest

drop in the top 10 and that century mark that's fantastic

hopefully that'll ease Hugh Jackman's pain is what he thought would be an

awards favourite has instead turned out to be a fan favorite should go to

Broadway so obvious I hope that's announced as well and then right behind

the greatest showman is Paddington - the second smallest drop in the top ten

hooray although it's gonna be a real harsh lesson about the importance of

business when it comes to moviemaking when Peter Rabbit and probably Disney's

live-action Christopher Robin blow this quaint charmer out of the water box

office wise later this year and they're gonna have that's gonna be a harsh

lesson for David Heyman and of the director Paul King and something they

want to make a Paddington 3 it's doing pretty well not as well as the first one

where I think well enough to maybe do a third but that's something that that

lesson I hope that I hope they learn it it's it's and I think the movies perfect

does is but you can't argue with the lower box office numbers it's really

frustrating alright cuz I mean as good as the movie is it didn't connect with

audiences maybe we'll see how it does on streaming so as for the weekends new

releases yes there were some this is great so 12 strong followed the 13 hours

release strategy even down to the title 12 strong 13 hours so Hollywood

sometimes they're so transparent and they wound up get this with the exact

same opening as we've discussed before box-office patterns do exist and that's

where Hollywood is so good at predicting box-office hopefully this is the last of

old Chris Hemsworth and his career truly has turned a corner or will he not be

able to make box-office lightning strike twice I really thought he was so good in

Thor Ragnarok but he just cannot get his non Marvel career off the ground

alright then den of thieves opened per usual for a Gerard Butler flick and the

trades insist this is business as usual for a movie like this which is designed

to make money overseas and in the ancillary market streaming airplanes

hotels etc and then for some reason a Lifetime movie opened in theaters this

weekend and still more people want to see it than three billboards and other

awards fare divide in this country continues to grow Hollywood should be a

uniter all right and I think it's possible now as for this coming weekend

the last before Superbowl weekend the final Maze Runner movie has the

franchise set to open at its lowest point and then hostiles oh this is great

hostiles has seen an opportunity there's no big movies in the marketplace Maze

Runner is pretty much do a so hostiles is gonna go super wide in 3,000 theaters

to try and capture an audience and maybe since awards season has totally ignored

it that means audiences might actually be interested I think this is a fabulous

little movie as I said in my review it's not necessarily theater worthy but hey

it's gonna be a slow weekend and I would actually recommend at least checking it

out as a matinee cuz it's very very good and you can check out my review via the

8 Worst TV Shows Of 2017 - Duration: 7:25.

As TV audiences continue to fracture, the definition of a hit show is constantly evolving,

and with every success, there's always a clunker waiting to be axed.

Some critics feel that 2017 has brought some of the worst shows in recent history.

With that in mind, we've rounded up the eight worst shows of 2017.

Emerald City

Just a few years ago, Uproxx reported on five vastly different Wizard of Oz TV adaptations

in development.

Only one of those made it to air.

Emerald City was director Tarsem Singh's first foray into television.

It was clear that NBC was hoping for their own Game of Thrones, but while Emerald City

was both beautiful and violent, no amount of Singh's signature special effects could

compensate for a weak storyline.

According to The Hollywood Reporter,

"...the silly merges with the violent, fumbling the tone on down the Yellow Brick Road (which

here is made of opium)."

Even its stellar cast - featuring Adria Arjona, Oliver Jackson-Cohen, and Vincent D'Onofrio

- was not enough to keep audiences interested.

With all those effects, the show couldn't have been cheap—which meant that low ratings

quickly doomed the 10-episode season.

After premiering the show in January, NBC canceled Emerald City in May.

APB

When sci-fi satire APB premiered on Fox, it had a lot of potential.

The series took aim at America's police state in the making—but it felt more like a comedy

than the drama it really needed to be.

APB followed tech billionaire Gideon Reeves, played by Justin Kirk, and explored privately

funded police forces equipped with drones, mobile apps, and tech gadgets.

However, too much focus was put on flashy technology, leaving no room for actual character

development.

The Hollywood Reporter called the show

"Just an empty, run-of-the-mill cop show."

"It's just stupid."

Heavily relying on style over substance, APB buckled under its own distorted morality.

Earning a 35 percent rating at Rotten Tomatoes, it was canceled after 12 episodes.

Taken

NBC tried to tap into a particular set of skills with Taken—a prequel series to Liam

Neeson's popular film franchise--but unfortunately, Neeson had nothing to do with this spy drama.

"I don't know who you are."

Clive Standen stars as a young Bryan Mills, giving audiences a perspective into the past

of Neeson's hardened espionage agent.

Regardless of its prequel status, Taken was ultimately just a procedural that struggled

to live up to the kinetic pacing and compelling action of the movies that inspired it.

As The Hollywood Reporter explained:

"What Taken actually proves to be as a series is just another NBC action drama in which

a government team faces a different limited threat each week."

Poor reviews aside, Taken performed well enough, prompting NBC to order a Season 2.

According to Deadline, only Jennifer Beals and Standen will return—which means some

well-needed restructuring has definitely TAKEN place.

Training Day

While Taken was renewed for a second season at NBC, CBS's small-screen adaptation of Antoine

Fuqua's Training Day wasn't so lucky.

Coming in at 22% on Rotten Tomatoes, the show was plagued with horrible reviews as soon

as it premiered.

Vulture called the show a

"...hackneyed, dreadfully written carbon copy of every crummy cop show you've ever seen."

Flipping the script on the 2001 film's original story, the series paired rookie Kyle Craig,

played by Justin Cornwell, with seasoned officer Frank Rourke, played by Bill Paxton.

It was an intriguing but risky move for CBS, who relied mostly on Paxton's acting chops

to carry the series.

But Paxton's talents couldn't save Training Day from overused exposition and slow pace.

The show was at risk as soon as it premiered, and after Paxton's untimely passing in February,

TV LINE reporter that it was moved from its Thursday night time slot to Saturday.

Deadline then reported that Training Day was officially canceled months later.

Star

Due to the massive success of Empire, Fox brought another hip-hop-themed drama from

Oscar-nominated director Lee Daniels to the small-screen.

But audiences quickly discovered Star was nothing like the network's lavish Lyon family

drama.

The series follows the melodramatic aspirations of Star Davis as she aims to get famous—or

die trying.

With scandalous storylines abound, Star might not have been granted a second season without

big-name talent like Benjamin Bratt and Queen Latifah.

The one-dimensional characters, cheesy storylines, and over-the-top music video segments make

it difficult to take Star seriously.

The guilty pleasure angle may be the show's selling point, setting up Star as a fun chaser

to the more serious Empire.

According to Variety, a two-hour crossover between the two shows helped boost Star's

second season ratings.

But only time will tell if it will make it to a third season.

Disjointed

Chuck Lorre knows a thing or two about sitcom success, bringing Two and a Half Men and The

Big Bang Theory to CBS—two comedies that were regularly panned by critics while still

garnering huge ratings.

Moving from network TV to Netflix's streaming platform, Lorre has continued doing his thing

with the pot comedy Disjointed.

The show stars Kathy Bates as Ruth Whitefeather Feldman, the owner of an offbeat medical marijuana

dispensary in Los Angeles, and used Lorre's signature three-camera setup to explore the

misadventures of the shop's staff.

"Stoned, I am getting!"

The Daily Dot reported:

"Just as real nerds tend to reject the heightened, shrill versions of themselves they see on

The Big Bang Theory, real pot smokers are likely to reject or even be offended by their

portrayal on Disjointed."

The series may be summer 2017's weirdest new show.

According to The Wrap, it was also the summer's worst.

Marvel's Iron Fist

Marvel and Netflix have proven to be a worthy partnership over the past few years.

From Daredevil to Jessica Jones, fans had grown accustomed to edgy comic book stories

mixed with a heaping helping of action and intrigue.

That all came to a halt with Marvel's Iron Fist.

The conflict came slow, the fight sequences fell flat, and Finn Jones' performance as

Danny Rand failed to live up to expectations.

Jessica Henwick's portrayal of Colleen Wing breathed some much-needed life into the series,

but it wasn't enough to lift Iron Fist out of the muck.

Indiewire said the series felt

"...incredibly inessential, even boring at times.

It just… didn't need to happen.

Marvel could have taken a pass on this one, or found a more interesting take on it."

Entertainment Weekly reports that second season is underway, promising a full-on comic-style

team-up between Danny Rand and Luke Cage.

Here's hoping their partnership can lift the series out of the Netflix doldrums.

"Sweet Christmas."

Marvel's Inhumans

Scoring just 10 percent on Rotten Tomatoes, Inhumans comes in as Marvel's worst-ever comic

book adaptation.

Indiewire called it, quote, "the worst thing Marvel has done in decades."

ABC backed the series with a Disney budget, and even gave it an IMAX limited theatrical

release, but not even the star power of Anson Mount and Iwan Rheon seemed to help.

Box Office Mojo reports just $2.9 million in ticket sales for the theatrical release,

and TVSeriesFinale reports the show averaged just under 2 million viewers.

In this case, however, poor reviews and dismal viewership might not lead to a cancellation.

Marvel's original plan for Inhumans called for a big-screen MCU blockbuster, so Disney

might still greenlight more episodes on ABC's behalf.

On the bright side: if more seasons do come, at least we'll get to see more of that cute

giant dog.

(Inhumans' only redeeming quality)

Is Tide Discontinuing Tide Pods? - Duration: 2:15.

According to a viral tweet, tide has been forced to discontinue tide pods because tide

pod challenge is so dangereous.

You've probably seen this tweet reposted to your favourite meme pages.

But is tide really discontinuing their delicious pods?

According to this tweet from tide, tide pods are no more.

The tweet says, we regret to inform you we will be removing tide pods from shelves starting

February 1st. its been a good run, but we cant risk lives over having clean clothes.

Uhhh yes you can.

When I first heard that tide was discontinuing their tide pods, I was pretty disappointed.

They really are a very effective alternative to detergent.

They are so neat and tidy, all you gotta do is just toss one in your load of laundry.

The rumor spread like wildfire on twitter and instagram.

Meme accounts with millions of followers were sharing the screengrab.

But fear not tide pod lovers.

The rumor was started by a viral fake tweet.

The tweet is for sure fake because there is no time stamp at the bottom, and it was not

shared by the tide official twitter account.

While tide has not discontinued their pods, some stores have resorted to locking them

up in to make them harder to access.

Retailers like walmart, and Kroger have noted a spoke in thefts since the tide pod challenge

became popular.

So far there have been 19 reported alls to poison control centers of people intentionally

injesting tide pods.

One college student from Utah was rushed to a hospital on Saturday afternoon after she

injested a tide pod.

There haven't been any updates on her well being but she was conscious when she was put

in an ambulance.

Tide is working with both facebook and youtube to take down tide pod challenge posts.

So if you came here looking for tide pod challenge videos, you wont find them on youtube.

The Dark Side of Being an Empath That You Rarely See

Empaths are typically known as the healers of the world.

They're the people whose senses are heightened, the ones that not only see the different energies

of the world, but actually feel them, experience them.

Those who are not empaths might think that this ability to feel what others feel is a

gift, but if you can convince an empath to talk about their gift,

they might tell you that it's not always sunshine and rainbows.

In fact, it's quite often not a very fun gift to possess at all.

Because of their gift, so many people rely on them for support.

Empaths are almost always trusted because they make people feel safe.

And while the empath is capable of handling the emotions of others, they also experience

quite a bit of stress because of it.

The dark side of being an empath comes in the form of having two conflicting voices

constantly roaring at each other inside of their heads.

Constantly feeling both the good and the bad, the negative and the positive, to the point

that they feel overwhelmed.

Empaths are more susceptible to the negative energies in life.

Their intense ability to feel can't get away from the deep-rooted evils that exist

in the world.

Their deep understanding of how the world exists and operates is enough to confuse and

sadden them.

What they can't understand is why this type of energy exists in the first place, if all

it does is hurt others.

The dark side of being an empath is constantly being exhausted and fatigued from the energies

you absorb.

But, you'd never know it.

Because the empath never dares break down or lose composure.

They quietly observe, acknowledge and feel.

As many others do, empaths want to be loved and accepted for who they are.

But, it is their generosity and kindness that often sees them being taken advantage of by

those who only take, never give.

Empaths are 'givers' by all means, ready to show kindness to those in need at all times.

The dark side of being an empath is not knowing that being so selfless places an incredibly

heavy burden on one's self.

Even the empaths that do recognize the burdensome nature of their selflessness often choose

to ignore it, because carrying that weight is more meaningful

than letting it fall on someone else's shoulders.

The dark side of being an empath is knowing that you willingly neglect both your body

and mind for the sake of others.

A neglect that builds over the years, eventually resulting in the need to go soul, searching

once again, a practice that we only take up when we feel completely lost.

The dark side of being an empath is knowing that even when they fall in love, they never

do so entirely.

They simply aren't capable of giving every ounce of their heart to someone else.

They know that if they tried, the intensity of the passion would most likely be too much

to handle, for themselves and their partners.

Which is why they always keep a little part of them hidden away from the rest of the world.

They keep a guard up out of necessity, even if they want nothing more than to let it down

and succumb to an overwhelming love.

The dark side of being an empath is the war that is always being waged within.

The war they wage against the sadness, the darkness, and the sorrowful side of themselves

that is always trying to rear its ugly head and lead them into self-destruction.

The only way they can fight this successfully is by learning to distinguish between emotions

that are their own, and emotional energies that are imposters,

invading from the outside.

Empaths need people who understand who they are, people they can talk to and who will

listen.

Empaths need to be able to let down the wall they've built up around their feelings so

that they can let their empathic selves do good in their own life.

Otherwise, empaths are destined to fight a war within themselves that never ends.

Fishing Tips.

Hank, this week's question, it comes from Gary Kilmartin from Illinois.

And he wants to know is it safe from a health standpoint to kiss a fish like I often see

anglers do before releasing them?

Hank: Well I'd say it's safe, but it can give you bad breath.

I don't know if you've ever been around Jimmy Houston but kisses all those fish, and

I can tell you when the bite's on for Jimmy, because he's got the worse breath.

I don't know if he French kisses those bass or not, but I've got some pretty strong

suspicions that Jimmy's a little wild kissing those fish.

But no, I think it's fine.

Most of time, if you watch me kiss them, I'm faking it anyway.

I don't really make contact.

Now Jimmy, that's a whole different story.

But I think he's alright.

He's 72 years old, but the way.

Jimmy Houston.

Still has bangs, so what can you say about that.

72 year old man with bangs.

But I will say this, Jimmy Houston is one of the coolest, neatest, friends that I have.

And that rascal's 72 years old, and he acts like he's 50 years old.

He's wide open.

So I think kissing bass may be healthy.

Jaws 3D: Review - Duration: 6:17.

Welcome back to my Dark Corner of this Sick World.

'Oh my God'

I've always steered clear of the Jaws sequels but, you know what? Jaws 2 isn't a catastrophe,

so I am watching Jaws 3.

Well this is off to bad start.

Here's the basic theory behind all 3D

'Just throw it in my eyes, it'll work faster'

After the 3D.

The biggest problem with this film is its not Jaws.

'Is the film okay?'

Jaws is famously a film about a giant killer shark that's not about a giant killer shark, it's about the people

'My fly's open'

Jaws 3D is about a giant killer shark.

Why is it eating a dinghy?

'Oooh!'

The character establishment is reduced to scenes of young lovers playing hilarious pranks,

in which the only thing worth watching, is the water level.

'I'm OK My Brother works here.'

'You Turkeys have any ID?'

'Wait a minute.'

Did the tide go out between shots?!

'What are you serious?'

Now, while this is not Jaws, it is trying to be in all the wrong ways;

subtly established neuroses are replaced with

'Oh I don't go in the water'

Robert Shaw's complex Quint is replaced by Sir Laurence 'I'll be dying later'

'If we can kill this beastie on camera, I can guarantee you media coverage'

Do we have a bureaucrat endangering people's lives for money?

'Listen nephew, that's a two and half million dollar turbine, that's not going to go up in smoke because of some damn fish'

Do we have a head popping up suddenly, making the audiences jump out of their skins.

Actually no, we don't.

'Why do you have to do this?'

That said, the plot is different.

When a killer shark threatens Sea World, marine biologists, gung-ho wildlife photographers and Dennis Quaid…

'Yeah well it's a real thrill'

…team up to catch it alive

'This is nuts'

I'm glad someone said it. They set out…

At night.

Gee I wonder why you didn't see it coming.

Most of the major action sequences take place at night, I assume to hide the inadequacies of the shark model,

which it does.

Kinda. But I can't see what the hell is happening!

Anyway, they catch the shark.

Who could have predicted it would be pissed?

But when things literally go belly up...

It's Mom shows up

'We're talking about some damn Shark's mother?!'

to take revenge on Lea Thompson…

…and some water skiers.

None of whom it manages to kill.

Honestly, all the people who were pissed at Jaws for portraying great white's as man-eaters,

should be delighted by this film, which shows them to be incompetent.

'Mike! Please Mike!'

Well surely it's got her now.

What the hell? Even in daylight I don't know what happened?!

'This film is a bloody retirement annuity'

Well, Joe Alves never directed again so kinda.

'You're enjoying this'

Now, like a lot of crap films - and this is worse than most -

an attempt is made to pull it back by adding a sequence that is simultaneously both cool and terrifying,

something to take away with you, something you'll be talking about for days to come.

It's hard to think of another film where that desire went this badly wrong.

Right away, that is a horrible shot.

And yet somehow the people in slow motion are worse.

But then…

I'd like to believe there was a moment in editing when they watched this and someone said,

well we can't save it now, let's make the ending even dumber.

So, as mommy shark attacks our heroes,

they notice she still has her previous meal stuck in her teeth,

fortuitously grasping a grenade.

I'd have to check, but I'd guess relatively few animals on film are defeated by inadequate dental hygiene.

If only she'd flossed. Who'd have thought Jaws would have a subliminal message from the dental association.

Particularly given its less subtle product placement.

'Always Coca Cola'

Okay, listen up.

I've learnt my lesson. No more Jaws sequels, certainly not ones that feature revenge.

BRATZ DOLL MAKEUP TUTORIAL | KOSMIC KRISTEN - Duration: 7:07.

Hey everyone! It's Kristen and today we're going to be doing this Bratz dolls

inspired makeup look and to start out we're gonna block out the eyebrows and

start using the modern renaissance Anastasia Beverly Hills palette for the

color "Love Letter" and we're going to putting this over where the eyebrows are

supposed to be and we're gonna create kind of a upper eyelid shape so we want

to be kind of round

next we're using the Bare Minerals Pro Foundation and the color cashmere 06

and I'm using this to cut the crease

and after using this we'll be using a translucent powder to set

next I'm using the Wolfe FX white face paint and I'm going to be using

this to create the large eye these dolls have very big exaggerated eyes and I'm

using a reference photo to try to match my eyes there's once you get the shape

you like you're going to fill it in with the white face paint

here I'm using a brown face paint also from Wolfe FX and I'm using this to

create a round section of my eye you're gonna kind of want to end and begin

where your eye actually ends and begins and not go out any further and you're

gonna fill this in with whatever color that you're going to using if you're

using contacts then match it with that color I'm gonna be using Brown next I

sketched out some eyebrows with a brown pencil and now I'm going to be filling

in with a black face piece I sketched it out in order to make sure that they were

at least somewhat symmetrical and now I'm just going to be filling them in

here I'm going in and sort of smoking out the pink color a little bit more to

go up towards the eyebrows and now with a black eyeliner I am underlining at

these creases and I'm going to be doing an outline around the white of my eye as

well here I made a mistake but we go and back in fix that later

and now I'm adding a little bit of black in the middle of the eye to create sort

of like a pupil with the same elf liquid liner I'm gonna be lining the top of my

lashes and I'm going to be making sort of a wing to connect with the rest of

the eye for the top of the eye I'm going to be kind of rounding out the eyeliner

on top of the eye to make it look like when my eye is closed that that actually

is my pupil it's kind of an illusion to make it look

like it is your eye here I'm adding a few lashes to the bottom and I will also

mean by adding lashes to the top as well

next for the face I'm going to be cleaning up any mistakes and then adding

a little bit of contour i'm using the Anastasia Beverly Hills palette and i'm

kind of trying to go underneath the cheeks to make them stand out more and

also be a little bit more rounded

next using the Sigma Aura blush I'm gonna be putting a lot of blush on the

apples of my cheeks and using the Naked illuminated in luminous I'm gonna be

adding a highlight on top of that Here I am dramatically over lining my lips to

make them look more like a Bratz doll and I'm using sort of a plum red color

once I have the shape I want I'm gonna be filling in the lips with the liner

and then I will top that with the NARS Scarlet Empress lipstick

and I topped it with this huge wig that I have for a cosplaying and this kind of

reminds me of gothic type bratz that they used to have and I really think it

goes well with this look and I can decide which week to use so I ended up

doing it two looks this one is with a long blonde wig I think they both look

really good with this makeup let me know which one you guys prefer I always loved

Bratz dolls growing up so it's really cool now to turn myself into one let me

to the Denver Actors Fund because I managed to laugh or smile 22

times that makes my grand total donation to them, to date, two hundred and twenty

dollars. It's worth it. It's so worth it, you guys. These are fun

and anytime I can give back, I'm-- that's what I'm here for, you know.
