Hello, I'm Russell George and I'm the Chair of the Economy, Infrastructure and Skills

Committee.

The contract that runs rails services in Wales comes to an end next year, and from October

2018 the Welsh Government will have a new contract.

The rail services run from the very north and south of Wales, the English borders and

including the new south Wales metro.

It will last about fifteen years and will cost around three and half billion pounds,

so we want to have a look at two main issues.

We want to look at how the Welsh Government have gone about their procurement process

and how it is being delivered.

We want to know what risks they have identified and how they are taking steps to address them.

We also want to look at priorities for the network including the South Wales Metro. 

We want to make sure that the service for the next fifteen years is suitable for travel

users and we also want to make sure that it is good value for money for passengers and

the taxpayer.

To help us with our inquiry, we've written to a range of experts.

But we also want to put travel users at the very heart of our inquiry.

We are asking them to come to a special meeting on the 9th March to give evidence to our committee.

We also have a survey as well, so we are encouraging passengers to take part in that.

Our recommendations and final report will be ready at the end of May, and you can follow

Independent counsel asks court to override presidential office's search warrant suspension - Duration: 1:53.

The independent counsel dedicated to getting to the bottom of the corruption scandal that's

engulfed the nation... is seeking the help of the court to search the presidential office

compound.

The team was denied access, despite having obtained a search warrant last week.

Hwang Hojun brings us up to speed with the investigation.

A week ago, investigators from the independent counsel left the presidential office empty-handed

after a five-hour standoff with staff.

Now the team is seeking help from the administrative court.

The team's spokesperson said on Friday afternoon that the independent counsel will ask the

court to override the presidential office's rejection of its warrant to search the compound.

We will file a request seeking a suspension of the presidential officials' rejection of

the search.

We're going to seek the court's judgment on whether their refusal of the search is legitimate."

The team also said it will file a lawsuit against the President's chief of staff and

her chief security officer, who submitted the statement of refusal to the team citing

security concerns.

While the country's criminal law states that military facilities and other areas that handle

classified information cannot be searched without approval from the person in charge,

the law also prohibits that person from refusing to grant consent unless doing so would go

against the national interest.

The team's warrant for Cheong Wa Dae expires on February 28th.

According to the spokesperson, while the court could overrule the presidential office's excuse

for blocking the search,... if it says the refusal was valid, a search of the presidential

office compound will become impossible.

"A tug of war is still going on between the independent counsel team and the presidential

office over both the botched raid and the face-to-face questioning of the president.

The focus will be on the court's decision, which is expected to be made by next week."

Lathe Sanding Station: Thickness Sander Part1 - Duration: 7:38.

Hello again.

In this third video I'll begin to build the drum sander.

I'll sand all their surfaces to avoid imperfections and ensure better bonding.

First I'll put the pieces together with screws to prevent them from moving due to the glue's

viscosity.

Now all we have to do is apply glue and tighten with clamps.

I'll mark the center and the circumference of the cylinder and make a hole in each head

to insert a union nut.

This drum could be built in a different way, cutting the plywood in circles and then gluing

them together until the desired length is obtained.

Both methods are fine as long as the result is successful!

As you can see here, the union nut fits a bit loosely.

I'll fill the gaps with polyurethane adhesive, a bonding agent that sticks to all kinds of

surfaces and hardens when dry.

We could have also used some good epoxy adhesive.

I put the drum in its emplacement before the glue is dry.

This way I can ensure both union nuts are aligned with the shaft.

Once the glue is dry, I remove the drum, wipe off any remaining glue, and give it shape

with the electric hand planer.

Now that I've achieved a rough cylinder, I'll finish working it into shape on the lathe.

I've prepared this template so that I can do it with a router and this follower.

After trying it with the lathe switched on, I decided to start roughing like this first,

because it was too much for the router.

Now I can cut with the drum spinning,

and the result seems to be pretty good.

I'll cut the pieces for the tilting table.

I make sure the table is completely flat, which is a must if we want to obtain good results.

Since this piece is a little warped, I'll fix it with a hand plane.

I'll glue this Formica sheet I had in my workshop to it to obtain improved sliding and a harder surface.

I'll use contact glue for this purpose.

After applying it on both surfaces I wait for about 5 minutes so that the glue won't

stick to my fingers; and now I can attach the Formica.

Now I will mill the rebate for the hinges.

I'll do it like this on the 3D Router.

I make sure everything turns as it should.

Both pieces should match perfectly around the edges.

Now I'll machine the fastening system.

Since I want to introduce it from the top, and not from the side like with other accessories,

I'll do it like this.

Here I put a threaded insert and, as always, I stick a bit of sandpaper to improve the attachment.

I make sure it works correctly.

The front edge should be perfectly parallel to the lathe's base.

Now I finish machining the tilting table.

These pieces are for the system that will allow me to adjust the desired height.

I'm going to carry out a test run of the finished table.

It must be mounted from behind like this.

The screws must then be tightened and the desired height is adjusted with these knobs.

Later on, when I build a specific bench for the lathe, I will attach a threaded rod allowing

me to more easily and more precisely adjust the desired height.

Hello, I'm Russell George and I'm the Chair of the Economy, Infrastructure and Skills

Committee.

The contract that runs rails services in Wales comes to an end next year, and from October

2018 the Welsh Government will have a new contract.

The rail services run from the very north and south of Wales, the English borders and

including the new south Wales metro.

It will last about fifteen years and will cost around three and half billion pounds,

so we want to have a look at two main issues.

We want to look at how the Welsh Government have gone about their procurement process

and how it is being delivered.

We want to know what risks they have identified and how they are taking steps to address them.

We also want to look at priorities for the network including the South Wales Metro. 

We want to make sure that the service for the next fifteen years is suitable for travel

users and we also want to make sure that it is good value for money for passengers and

the taxpayer.

To help us with our inquiry, we've written to a range of experts.

But we also want to put travel users at the very heart of our inquiry.

We are asking them to come to a special meeting on the 9th March to give evidence to our committee.

We also have a survey as well, so we are encouraging passengers to take part in that.

Our recommendations and final report will be ready at the end of May, and you can follow

the committee's work and find out more information at the link below.

Artlo channel and will show you how to do

a sand

soap (exfoliating ) super easy to do and

very cool, so let's start?

we have here 7 oz (200 grams)of

canola oil and 10.58 oz ( 300 g )of coconut oil

we will need 2.7 oz (77 grams ) lye

5.4 (160 ml) water

Here I have the sand and it is very thin

0.4 oz (12 grams)

Now that the two mixtures are about

104 F add fat to

the lye mixture

I will then adding and stirring

gradually adding it to mix well

first I am using this silicone spatula

and then later I'll use the stick blender

so I'm making a small recipe

thickest point

I will not use the mixer anymore here

Medical and dental care in Japan. My Invisalign experience! - Duration: 10:56.

Hey guys! Welcome to my channel!

My name is Katerina, or Kat, or maybe some of you know me as

Amethyst (my nickname).

I've lived in Japan for more than 5 years, and the main idea

for this channel was to share my

music stuff (as I sing and play piano)

as well as share some interesting stuff,

about life in Japan, about everyday life, about everything that

is happening to me here and might be interesting

to know.

Today I'm filming my first video in Russian.

If some of you is subscribed to my channel,

you know that my previous vids were all

in English.

So maybe someone was thinking "WTF

stop showing off your farm English

;P"

Well, honestly, I'm not showing off or anything, I just want

for my channel to be available to

as many people as possible. The more the better.

So, if you don't like English / Russian, or whatever,

you can always turn on the subtitles and

enjoy whichever

language you prefer!

Yep.

So that was just a short intro.

Now, today I wanted to talk about

medical services in Japan

and also about dental stuff.

About how people treat their teeth,

how they fix them, because as you might have

heard, there a lot if people in Japan who

have rly crooked teeth.

And some people even think it's KAWAII.

Well, then such people live happily with their crooked teeth.

But those who want to have a nice smile,

go and fix them.

And there are plenty of places to do it.

So today I wanted to talk about that.

Let's go!

So, medical services in Japan.

I don't have that much experience, because

I'm not sick or anything.

But at least I know that when

you find a new job, you are supposed to

go though a med checkup.

It's not like they won't hire you if you're a weak sicko,

they just need to know that you

actually can work for them.

Also, in any Japanese company

once a year you must get a full med checkup

But that's all about compulsory medical attention.

Forgot to tell, that if you're older than 30

there's Ningen Dock,

or human dock.

For a long time I coudn't get it, what's dock?

Is it short for "doctor"?

But then I found out, that it stands for

ship dock.

Meaning they will

diagnose, check, fix you as a ship

It's a pretty lengthy procedure

In my current company people take a whole day off

to complete it.

I haven't had it yet myself, so can't

say much, but I know that

it's a pretty deep procedure, so they can

find something that normally

might stay unnoticed.

Medical insurance in Japan is a must.

Even if you don't work anywhere, you can go to your nearest

Kuyakusho (Ward Office) and apply for

one (National Health Insurance).

So what's good about it?

Well first of all you can get medical treatment

and only pay 30% of its' cost.

Which is not bad at all.

Normal checkups usually

aren't very thorough.

They run some tests, examine your mouth

and ask if you have any health concerns.

And that's pretty much it.

Now, let's move on to the dental area.

It's a bit of a different topic

First, it's not really covered by the insurance

by the insurance.

Well, it is, but only the very basic stuff.

For example, if your mouth is filled with cavities,

you will get your treatment covered by the insurance,

meaning you'll have to pay only 30%.

But if you want to fix your teeth alignment, do whitening,

or get rid of some other defects,

you will have to pay 100%

out of your pocket.

Well, I'm pretty sure, there are some hidden loopholes

but I could never be bothered to find them out

But I heard something that you can reduce tax or something...

But let's leave this to the real local residents.

So, I only had my normal dental checkups a few couple of times

and got only some simple treatment

But I remember once the dentist told me

Gosh, your wisdom teeth are

facing up! They're tearing apart your cheeks!

It's rly rly bad, you can get cancer from it!

Because of constant inflammation.

Let's extract them!

And I thought "Woah woah, let's not get

so overly enthusiastic o_O"

And ofcourse I said no

because pulling wisdow teeth

seemed to me like a bad and even dangerous

idea, because on the lower jaw

the nerves are very close, so you never know what might happen

and besides, it doesn't bother me at all, so why mess with it?

So, that was the end of my dental story.

I knew that my wisdom teeth were jerks.

Until I found out about invisalign

So what's Invisalign

I told about it in one of

my previous vids

Invisalign is transparent trays, let me show ya

what they look like

I took them off, because

sometimes when you put on a new tray

your mouth is not used to it and there might be some slight lisp.

Maybe you can even hear it on some of my vids, but

I try not to show it.

So here they are

I hope you can see it

Transparent copy of your teeth

but made a bit tighter than they

really are, so your teeth are constantly

being pushed into the right position.

So from the start

First your teeth are fully scanned

and then a digital image of your teeth gets into a computer

and the program redesigns your teeth

from A (your teeth now)

to B (your ideal smile)

Next time, your doctor shows you

the video of step by step teeth movement process.

I'll show you. Don't be scared of my claws.

Here it is.

Step by step you can see how it's

going to happen.

The trays are made in the US

at least here in Japan they send their

orders to the US, and there

they make your individual set.

So I had to wait for two weeks and then

I came to the clinic again

and they gave me a bag, a set

with my Invisalign trays.

I got two boxes here, with 53 trays.

Each tray is in its individual baggie

Some ppl change them every two weeks,

my dentist told me to

change them every 10 days.

Now i'm changing them every week

So the process is pretty fast and

every week I see some progress.

Definitely something to look forward to!

And it's great!

Anything uncomfortable about Invisalign...

Well, if you are not very disciplined or as japanese people say

Mendokusai mendokusagariya-san, a lazy bum,

maybe Invisalign is not for you

Because Invisalign requires a lot of care

Whenever you eat or drink something

you have to take them off, and then brush your teeth,

floss,

You have to do it each and every time

Well, maybe somtimes

you can skip it, but it's your teeth

and when you are wearing Invisalign, the bacteria there multiplies much faster

that usual, because your saliva doesn't really get everywhere as it normally does.

So the cavities risk is hight. That's why you have to

keep your teeth clean all the time.
