George Soros Exposed Again: Funder of Fake News - #FakeNews - Duration: 5:53.

Hi, welcome, I'm Heathcliff of Lions Ground and I hope you're doing well.

George Soros is behind the fake news, this tells founder, editor, and publisher of The

Geller Report and president of the American Freedom Defense Initiative, Pamela Geller

to Sputnik news.

According to the Daily Beast, $160 million will go through for the Global Engagement

Center or GEC to spend on foreign propaganda.

$100 million will be spent to support objectively Russian-language journalism, fake news and

supports research on the effects of information warfare.

Important detail: About one year ago, someone on Youtube "Bill H." reached out to me by

e-mail and warned me that I can expect Russian language flat-earth propaganda.

I quote "One thing I forgot to mention about the return of the trolls.

In Russia, the New Year holiday runs from about the Western Christmas (25th December)

to the Russian Orthodox Christmas (7th January).

That would mean that this week would be when a new year begins after the big holiday in

Russia.

So we would expect that this week would see the return of trolls who were re-deployed

after the 2016 US Presidential Election campaign.

In the next mail: But did you clear out Giordano Bruno?

I'd love to know, because I called him out as a Russian Troll from the Internet Research

Center, and mentioned that I did traffic analysis, and all his stuff disappeared from the "Flat

Earth theory 100% debunked" video.

If he pulled all his stuff, I'd be fascinated!

It would be genuine proof he is a Russian troll!"

Break, in my last video about Soros I showed old evidence he's the sugar daddy of chaos.

Someone on Youtube has provided me with new evidence that people are actually put in the

ring like fighting roosters.

Get paid to fight against Trump.

Location: Oklahoma City, Tulsa.

"You will receive a monthly retainer of $ 2,500 on top of our standard pay per event or $ 50

/ hr," not bad!

When I follow the link, I'll end up on the page "Due to an overwhelming number of responses

we have suspended new applications.

Thank you for your understanding."

This is a website which designs violent protests.

This is a target for Anonymous, I will pass it on to the hactivists.

This website should be offline.

ps: talking about Anonymous, I'm doing an interview with Anonymous Thailand to talk

about the censorship in Thailand.

However, The GEC was initially created under the Obama administration to fight Daesh (ISIS/ISIL)

propaganda.

The initiative was kicked off by Republican Sen. Rob Portman and Democratic Sen. Chris

Murphy in late 2016 and was signed into law by then President Barack Obama on December

23 as part of the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) Conference Report.

The "Fake News" is a new device, a favorite term of the media, used by the left.

This is used against all right, not necessarily anti-Putin and anti-Trump, but everything

that's right.

Left should act normal, an eagle can not fly with one wing.

The liberal media is trying to discredit all independent media outlets and sources.

To give you an example, Lisa Haven claimed to be placed on the watchlist of the NSA.

Trump prefer to go through one doorway with Russia.

For America, a cooperation with Putin is a big advantage regards Syria, Iran, and Iraq.

Who Can Save Me? - Duration: 8:34.

As explained in the previous segment, sin has separated us from God,

and death resulted from sin.

But even before man sinned and was given the death sentence,

God had already prepared a plan of salvation.

We may ask, "Why couldn't God simply forgive sinners and let them live?"

We need to first understand the seriousness of disobeying God.

God the Creator and Ruler has established order in His creation.

When we disobey God, it's a violation of God's order and a crime against the Creator.

If God were to look the other way and ignore it whenever man breaks His law,

He would not be the just God that He is.

We certainly wouldn't wish mass-murderers like Hitler or Stalin to go unpunished.

Yet we expect God to forgive us when we violate His moral laws.

We want others to be brought to justice, but we want to be forgiven.

That's holding a double-standard, which the just God cannot do.

When man sins against God, death must ensue because choosing to reject God is choosing

to be severed from the life of God.

That is the deadly consequence of sin.

But God is not only just, He is also loving and merciful.

He does not delight in the death of a sinner.

He wants to restore the broken relationship with His children.

To do so without compromising His justice, He paid the greatest price of love.

He chose to take our place and bear the penalty for our sins.

A debtor cannot pay for someone else's debt because he himself is in debt.

In the same manner, no other human being can save us because all have sinned.

Even the most pious person is but a sinner.

Only God alone can be our Savior.

In order for Him to pay the debt of our sins,

He must suffer the consequences of sin by dying on our behalf.

For this very reason He came into this world and became a man.

This man, who is God in the flesh, is Jesus.

The name Jesus means "the LORD saves."

God Himself came to this world as a human being in order to save us from our sins.

Jesus, being in the flesh, was called the Son of God.

As a son, He lived in perfect obedience to the heavenly Father.

Consequently, when Christ came into the world, he said,

"Sacrifices and offerings you have not desired,

but a body have you prepared for me;

in burnt offerings and sin offerings you have taken no pleasure."

Then I said, 'Behold, I have come to do your will, O God,

as it is written of me in the scroll of the book.'"

Hebrews chapter 10 verses 5 to 7

Whereas mankind has disobeyed God, Jesus obeyed God's will completely.

Although He was human and was also tempted like we are, He was without sin.

Finally, He obeyed God to the point of going to the cross

to die for the sins of the human race.

But we see him who for a little while was made lower than the angels, namely Jesus,

crowned with glory and honor because of the suffering of death,

so that by the grace of God he might taste death for everyone.

Jesus was like a lamb without blemish.

He laid down His life as the perfect sacrifice to atone for our sins.

Jesus' obedience unto death reversed the disobedience of mankind.

For if, because of one man's trespass, death reigned through that one man,

much more will those who receive the abundance of grace and the free gift of righteousness

reign in life through the one man Jesus Christ.

Romans chapter 5 verse 17

Because Jesus was without sin, He was able to pay for the penalty of our sins.

The righteous One died in the place of sinners.

As a result, those who accept Him can be acquitted before God.

For our sake he made him to be sin who knew no sin,

so that in him we might become the righteousness of God.

2 Corinthians chapter 5 verse 21

He himself bore our sins in his body on the tree, that we might die to sin and live to righteousness.

By his wounds you have been healed.

1 Peter chapter 2 verse 24

In exchange for Jesus' death, believers in Jesus receive the gift of life.

For the wages of sin is death,

but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.

Romans chapter 6 verse 23

Through the cross Jesus conquered the devil and the power of death.

Death could not keep its grip on Jesus because He is the Lord of life.

Three days after His death, Jesus was raised to life just as He said.

For Christ also suffered once for sins, the righteous for the unrighteous,

that he might bring us to God,

being put to death in the flesh but made alive in the spirit,

1 Peter chapter 3 verse 18

Jesus rose from the dead as the Victor over sin and death.

He ascended to heaven in glory and will return one day as the Judge.

By His death and resurrection, the way to God is open again.

Our risen Savior has brought us a living hope.

We who believe in Him and are baptized in His name can receive a new life now

and will rise to everlasting life in the future.

Paul writes to the Christians about their glorious future:

But our citizenship is in heaven, and from it we await a Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ,

who will transform our lowly body to be like his glorious body,

by the power that enables him even to subject all things to himself.

Philippians chapter 3 verses 20 to 21

This corruptible body that we have now will be transformed into an incorruptible body

when Christ comes.

Our physical death will be but a temporary sleep because we will rise again to life.

Like Jesus Christ our Lord, we will also be victorious over death.

This glorious hope of everlasting life is given to all who believe in Jesus Christ.

Even in the present life, we who are born again in Jesus Christ

can overcome the challenges in life.

In Jesus Christ we are given a new life and become a new person.

Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation.

The old has passed away; behold, the new has come.

2 Corinthians chapter 5 verse 17

If you put your trust in Jesus,

He will save you by re-creating you.

As a new creation,

you can mend your broken relationships,

overcome addictions,

find meaning in life,

and face life's difficulties with courage, peace, and joy.

He will turn hatred into love,

despair into hope,

and darkness into light.

Just as the Lord Jesus proclaimed,

He is the ultimate answer.

He is the bread that satisfies us.

He is the source of living water that quenches us.

He is he light that shines in our darkness.

He is the life that triumphs over death.

In Him we can have abundant life and a life that never ends.

And there is salvation in no one else,

for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved.

Acts chapter 4 verse 12

Jesus alone is our Savior,

for He alone has paid the debt of our sins,

and He alone has triumphed over death.

Nothing in this life is forever.

The things and people we trust will not always be able to help us.

But Jesus will never fail us.

He lives, and He is our ever present help.

When death comes and when we have to face our final destiny,

Jesus and Jesus alone can receive us into His eternal kingdom.

Smoke Sesh Strain Reviews: Purple Jack Cannabis Sativa Hybrid with Guest CannaviceTV #420 #Weedtuber - Duration: 11:16.

Hey Stoners Welcome to The Johno Show I'm your host Jonathan.

It's Thursday February 9th 2017 and that means it's strain review day.

Today I'm with my good friend Daniel from CannaVice TV and we're gonna review some

Purple Jack.

Hey Daniel how are you?

Tell us about CannaVice TV?

Awesome!

So guys I'm gonna have Daniel's link in the description down below and I highly recommend

you follow him.

Okay let's get into some of this bud.

This is Purple Jack, which is a hybrid and despite being 50% Sativa and 50% Indica.

It's actually considered a sativa dominant strain.

There are conflicting reports on how much THC there is.

Some dispensaries are reporting 10% while others report as high as 25%.

It's an offspring of Jack Herer, which is a heavy sativa and Purple Kush, which is a

heavy indica.

Neither of which I've tried before.

It's supposed to bring mental energy and a full-body calm with the calm taking over

and making it conducive for sleep and rest.

It may cause couch-lock, which I'm really hoping it doesn't cause I've got a busy

day.

It's likely a good choice for anxiety and irritability.

It provides an uplifting cerebral euphoria and improves concentration and mood.

However, it may prompt dizziness and headaches.

That's definitely

not good.

The Medical Conditions it treats are: Gastritis

Arthritis Insomnia

Anxiety ADD/ADHD

Depression Let's Smell It!!

It's supposed to have a musky, spicy aroma with hints

of Skunk, while the flavor is smooth and musky with notes of hash

and pine.

Fruity Spicy

Sweet Citrus

Earthy Pine

Lemon

We can't Look

at

it Under the Microscope because I'm visiting Daniel.

But

the nugs

are dark and lime green, with a fluffy appearance, purple leaves, and a

light dusting of trichomes.

Now let's smoke it!!

- But that isn''t why downtown Hamilton

- As producer Ashley Holcroft shows us,

We lost all of our retirement, my husband and I.

And the children started thinking about what we could do

in our retirement

that would keep us out of their basement.

"Well, what quilt is this?"

And I said, "I don''t even know."

And he says, "Are you--what do you mean, you don''t know?"

is this something you could do?"

"Because if it''s--if these people are backed up a year,

So I said, "Kids,

maybe we should think about selling fabric."

So we check into it. We couldn''t afford it.

- But help was on the way.

Enter the newly minted Moda pre-cuts.

- So it was one square of every fabric in the line,

and they were in these little packets.

So I would make a project out of a packet,

and we''d buy one bolt.

So we started doing that, and that and YouTube

is what catapulted us into being a familiar to people.

People were looking online

for easy and quick ways to do things,

and then they''re like,

"Well, I could just buy one of those packs," you know.

And so that''s really kind of

when things start getting a little bigger for us.

-Being catapulted into familiarity

has its perks, but growth has its demands.

That''s where the Doans

were uniquely positioned to succeed.

- Thankfully, we''ve got, you know,

seven kids in the family,

and we''re all willing to work for free

for several years before we got a paycheck.

And by doing that, we were able to pivot and iterate

and iterate and try and do things.

And then we finally found stuff that stuck.

- We are a normal family.

We all are very strong, opinionated people.

We all don''t have any problem sharing our opinion.

But the reason we have owners

is because the buck has to stop with someone.

Now, in the beginning, the kids said, you know,

"Mom, do you want to be one of the owners?"

And I don''t. I don''t.

I''m a really good worker.

I''m a really good face for the company.

But I don''t own the company,

and there has to be somebody in charge.

-Of Jenny and Ron''s seven children,

five work for MSQC, and two are owners.

Sarah is in charge

of the customers'' experience in town.

- How we''re decided to do it

is kind of get different styles of fabric per shop.

There was a bunch of buildings available

that were kind of just sitting,

that hadn''t really been rented out.

And so we just kind of purchased one at a time,

and we''ve been able

to bring them back to life, essentially.

At first, we were worried.

Would people want to walk from store to store?

You know, it''s outside.

We have-- I mean, it''s Missouri,

so we have freezing weather,

and we have hot weather, you know?

And, really, I kind of-- I tease

that it cleanses your palate, right,

from each little walk.

You''re like, "Okay, I''m ready to see more."

-One of Alan''s long-time friends, Dave Mifsud,

tends the finances,

while Al oversees the customer experience online.

- Quilters are sort of this group that--

they don''t get enough credit, right?

They''re like the happiest, more cheerful,

most supportive, most loving people.

Like, I built the website, right?

I built it from scratch.

And then we launch it, and it breaks,

and you get these people that''ll be like,

"Hey, just so you know,

"things aren''t working so good on the webs--I''ll hold my order.

"Don''t worry about a thing. I''ll be back.

"I know it''s probably hard today.

It''s a big day."

I''m like, "Really?

Oh, thanks, guys, ''cause it''s really hard over here."

And I''m like, "I am stressing out."

And they''re like, "Don''t worry about a thing.

"It''s quilting, right?

It''s been around forever."

And it''s like, "Yeah, but this isn''t

your mom''s quilt shop, right?"

This is a new way of doing it.

We''re kind of reinvigorating this industry.

What we saw was that, like, moms and my grandma,

they love to quilt, but Sarah, my sister,

she doesn''t have three months to put into making a quilt.

So we had to simplify it.

We had to make it easier.

And so we had to come up with these ideas

to be able to let people make a quilt in a day.

You know, we''re just trying to figure out ways

of letting people experience success

and have a good interaction with the hobby

and the art of quilting and then circle back.

And, like, you''ll do

your bigger, crazier, more intense stuff

as you get more and more confident.

- What started with a single long-arm quilting machine

has ballooned to 13 buildings, over 400 employees,

a national small business award,

a massive new warehouse.

The Missouri Star Quilt Company

is still steaming ahead.

But for this family, success has come

in both tangible and intangible forms.

- What I didn''t realize in the beginning was--

for me, this was all about sewing,

and I really thought I was sewing.

Now these letters start coming,

and they come from women who are handicapped,

women who have MS,

a man with agoraphobia

who, he says, "I know I''m in a prison of my own making,

but for the first time in my life," he says,

"I feel like I am doing something that matters."

Who--who gets to have those kind of stories told to them?

Who gets to do that?

It''s been more than anything I ever dreamt of.

- You know, there are some nice parallels

with Missouri Star here.

Unruh Furniture started in a garage in Grandview

and now employs over 20 people

who work in this 36,000-square-foot facility.

- Our next story is also about building,

just not using traditional materials.

- It''s about putting together a really big show

that brings in really big bucks

We go from piece to piece without applause in between.

It takes about a year to plan Crescendo.

They''ve already got next year''s date set,

and they''re gonna start working on the theme

and everything else.

And throughout that year, we talk about things

and plan things, and we put pencil to paper,

and we think, we dream,

and it can get kind of daunting after a while.

We''ve been doing Crescendo in this format

for about the last six years.

It''s sometimes hard for us

to get music students and dance students

on the same stage at the same time.

This allows them an opportunity to do those things together.

[applause]

Thank you. Appreciate that.

So here''s the rough order of the show.

You''re gonna see the orchestra, the wind symphony, the choir.

You''ll see some jazz bands. You''ll see dancers.

You''ll see some of our professors

in brass and oboe and piano.

And you''ll see everything we do together

at some points as well.

Thinking about getting from piece to piece to piece

happens instantly, automatically,

and we have to get the right people

in the right place at the right time.

So we''re gonna spend a little bit of time

practicing the transitions,

and then we''re gonna run it top to bottom.

- Okay, this is your cue to tune,

like cue to go.

- We will go through it cue to cue,

so we''ll do lots of sitting and standing

and running through the light cues.

- As soon as you see lights hit you,

that''s your cues to go.

- And then after that,

we''ll do another run-through of the show

and fix any problem areas.

- Trying to fit all those bodies on there

with all the intricate moves-- and it is a ballet,

so it''s very hard to fit them all there,

but we try to make it work the best we can.

everything that we''ve done to plan comes to fruition,

and it''s always a feeling of joy.

And I'm Kukui Raymond, a HIKI NŌ student from Wai'anae High School in West O'ahu.

Welcome to the third episode in a series of seven specials showcasing the nominees for

the 2017 HIKI NŌ Awards.

In each episode, we'll present the nominated stories in a particular category, or series

of categories.

These stories represent the very best work created by HIKI NŌ students from the 2015-2016

school year, and from the fall of this current school year.

The nominated stories were selected by PBS Hawaii's HIKI NŌ Editorial Board based on

a set of very strict, and specific criteria.

You can find out who all the nominees are at PBSHawaii.org/hikino.

At this moment, veterans from Hawai'i's journalism, broadcasting, and film and TV production

industries, are scoring each nominated story based on the same criteria used in the nominating

process.

The judges' scores will be added up, and the nominee with the highest score in a given

category will be declared the winner of that category.

The winner in each category will receive $1,000 worth of production equipment for their school's

media program.

HIKI NŌ Awards go to schools, not individuals.

You can find out who all the winners are by tuning in to our special HIKI NŌ Awards Show,

Thursday, March 23rd at 7:30, on PBS Hawai'i.

In today's episode, we'll be showing the stories nominated for Best Writing, Middle School

Division.

While HIKI NŌ students do their own reporting, interviewing, filming and editing, the writing

process is arguably the most important aspect of creating

a successful HIKI NŌ story.

Images and sound are just tools used in the telling of a story.

Without the story, you have nothing.

With that in mind, the nominees in this category will be scored by the judges based on the

following criteria.

Did the nominee tell a compelling, well thought-out story?

Did they clearly present the information needed for the viewer to understand the story or

issue at hand?

If it was an issue-based story, did the reporter/writer provide differing perspectives on that issue?

Did the story hold your interest, and did it end with a satisfying or thought-provoking

conclusion?

Was it well-written?

Let's see how the stories nominated in this category measure up to these tough criteria.

Our first story comes from Aliamanu Middle School in the Salt Lake District of O'ahu.

It takes us behind the scenes into the inner workings of the school's nerve center, the

administration office.

Nominated for Best Writing, Middle School Division, here is "Front Office" from Aliamanu

Middle School.

[LIVELY MUSIC]

It's the start of a new day at Aliamanu Middle School.

But as with most schools, it doesn't begin with the

students arriving.

The staff has already started with their workday, preparing the campus for another day

of learning.

At the center of all this activity is the front office.

The workers there play a key role in the day-to-day operations of the school.

The office can get busy.

I mean, sometimes, you know, like we're sitting, we're sitting.

All of a sudden, boom, three people walk in at one time.

Just so happens that phone starts to ring.

I'll come around.

I may take a bite of my sandwich ... but right

after that, I'm looking up something, I'm looking for a

student's class.

A parent will come in: Oh, my child needs this for their classroom right now.

So, yes, we are very busy.

[CHUCKLE]

They even have to deal with other living things that find their way into the front office.

Yes, it can get busy in the office, but it's the school administrative

services assistant, otherwise known as the SASA,

who helps to keep everything moving smoothly.

I maintain and oversee the front office and the clerks here.

I support the faculty and staff in any kind of

personnel things.

I work with the principal regarding budget.

A lot of it is a supporting role.

One key member of the office who has each student as her main focus, is the attendance

clerk.

Whether a school is small or large, the attendance clerk

is often busy keeping track of students who are absent or

tardy.

Well, when the children come in, in the morning and they're tardy to school, I check them

in, I give them a pass to go to class, and I log it in the

computer.

I also take care of the flag monitors, assigning flag

monitors, and I also assign office monitors.

And they help us during the day.

And for some children, a visit to the office often means interacting on their own with

an adult who is not their parent or teacher.

I come into the office every once in a while in case I need an appointment, or I'm going

to an appointment, or just in case I need anything.

I think they're very helpful.

And the fact that they are friendly towards me and other students, that

really keeps me calm, knowing that I can trust them.

Many others appreciate what the office staff does, as well.

They're just always smiling and helpful.

I appreciate these ladies more than you know.

They do everything.

I appreciate that they help us not be late to class.

I just think they're awesome.

They're really nice, and they're really funny.

And every time I come in here, they're just like, joking

around and laughing.

It's a really good environment.

[LAUGHTER]

So, if you ever want to know where the heartbeat of a school is, ask where the administration

building is and see what goes on behind the front office.

This is Mei-Lynne Mendoza from Aliamanu Middle School, for HIKI NŌ.

What a great look behind the scenes.

Kukui, from a writing perspective, what did you think of "Front

Office?"

Well, I liked that they talked about the workers and what goes on behind the scenes, and how

they run the school, and everything.

I thought it was really uplifting, getting, you know, to see them run the school, and

run around, and have a lot of fun in the story.

Now, our next nominee comes from Kaua'i and Chiefess Kamakahelei Middle

School.

Their story explores the powerful bond between rescue dogs on Kaua'i and their trainers and

handlers.

Nominated for Best Writing, Middle School Division, this is "K-9 Search and Rescue"

from Chiefess Kamakahelei Middle School.

Dogs are often considered man's best friend.

But for members of the Kaua'i Search and Rescue K-9

Team, they're absolutely essential to finding missing people on the island of Kaua'i.

Our dogs are so loyal to us that they're always also looking out for us.

They'll run ahead at times, but then they'll turn around and check back, and

see where you're at, and see if you're following them.

So, it's really just both of us working together.

Yeah!

Any dog is welcome to become a member of the KSAR team.

Mainly, handlers look for the special characteristics in a canine.

There's, of course, obvious things that you want to look at.

One is curiosity.

You want to get that little puppy that is very curious about you.

You want little puppies that are brave, ones that you throw the ball,

and they'll bring it back.

And puppies that love people.

Search dogs begin training as puppies.

They start off with simple exercises to get comfortable with their

handler.

Then, they move on to find certain targets.

They also train to receive special certifications.

The third part is, you go find the handler, come back, and then go tell the person that

a victim or subject has been found there.

That is the essence of search and rescue.

My girl Astro, we started her at eight weeks old, training for search and rescue.

And we would be out in the yard and trying to find anybody that would

come by.

[CHUCKLE] Anybody who would come visit us, we'd say, Oh, could you hide for us?

And that's just the start of the training.

You train every day in your yard, in your backyard, you train on

the weekends with the team.

The main goal of a rescue mission is to find the missing victim alive.

KSAR members and their dogs are prepared for the unexpected, and the unfortunate.

Some dogs are trained for finding HRD, which is human remains.

So, in case we're out on a search, it'd be really unfortunate, but if a person had

passed away, we don't want our dogs to run away from that type

of smell.

So, some of our dogs are trained to actually find people that have been deceased.

To create a greater chance of a successful mission, the dog handlers build up a special

relationship with their dogs to create a feeling of companionship.

The dog and the handler is one team, is one unit.

The relationship is very close.

Our dogs, for years, have slept in our beds, live in our house.

Actually, it's their house, we just pay the mortgage.

Always a close relationship between dog and handler

makes the team work very well.

We've had to find a young hunter from Kaua'i, got away from his group early in the morning.

We were out two, three o'clock in the morning, and

he had to go back to a truck.

Came back, and he got lost for two days.

To be able to tell his dad, who was very deep in the Wai'ale'ale area that we had found

his son, to watch his dad just hug his son, I think

that was ... that's chicken skin.

I mean, there's nothing any better than that.

Hapa, go, go!

Come on, come on!

Come on, Hapa!

The bonds, training and commitment among members and rescue dogs reflect one purpose: They're

here for the people.

This organization, made up of all volunteers and their dogs, work to bring closure to those

who are missing their loved ones.

This is Brent Torres from Chiefess Kamakahelei Middle School, for

HIKI NŌ.

Wow, what an amazing story about a man's best friend.

Noah, based on the writing criteria, how do you

feel "K-9 Search and Rescue" measured up?

Well, I really liked how they showed us from when the dog was young, to how it progressed,

and then all of the things that it could do.

Me, too.

And I thought they were adorable.

Now, our next story comes from Kamehameha Schools

Maui Middle in upcountry Maui.

They crafted a story about a nonprofit organization that is dedicated to feeding the homeless

and others who are down in their luck.

Nominated for Best Writing, Middle School Division, here we have "Feed My Sheep" from

Kamehameha Schools Maui Middle.

Nothing wrong with coming in here.

It's all good people.

We're all Christians, we're all good people.

Some Maui residents struggle to get food to eat and rely on local agencies such as Feed

My Sheep Maui for assistance.

Now, one man who receives a weekly donation of food finds a new purpose in life through

giving back to his community.

Somebody asked me if I'd like to help out.

I said, Sure, why not.

I do work at the church.

I give out food there too, so I do what I can.

[INDISTINCT]

Gary Camp wasn't always dependent on help from others.

But unfortunate incidents happened in his life

that put him in his current situation.

I was in a car accident twice.

These car accidents left Gary injured and unable to work.

An organization called Feed My Sheep Maui, which provides assistance with food and emotional

support, was there for him.

I started giving them food.

I started going and buying groceries, and just handing it to them.

We all used to pack it up, deliver it, hand it to them.

Churches started getting involved, and then ... it just kept going.

Even though Gary faced many ups and downs, he found a place where he felt welcome.

One of the first people that I ever interacted with was Gary.

And he was getting there at five-thirty, drinking coffee with his friends.

And he just wanted to be there.

[INDISTINCT]

Since I would be the one who had to set up the desk that was closest to him, we kept

talking.

Okay.

[INDISTINCT].

When I first got here, I hooked up with Scott, my boss right there.

Him and I were hanging out for a while.

We went to a church by the theater up here.

As time went by, Gary wasn't just a volunteer.

He was more than that.

[INDISTINCT]

As far as I'm concerned, Gary is a friend of mine.

That's what I know him as.

And he comes and he gets food from Feed My Sheep, but he also devotes

a lot of his time to help out as well.

You know, people are still there needing food.

But not only food.

They need support, they need our prayer, they need us to care about them and

treat them with dignity and respect.

Some people look at homeless and others who need help as intimidating.

But Gary doesn't see it that way.

They're nice.

Lots of people you meet here, they're super-nice people.

There's no complaints [INDISTINCT].

Gary shows that you can make the best out of a bad situation.

You just have to keep trying your hardest in life.

This is Lauren Kalama from Kamehameha Schools Maui, for HIKI NŌ.

Wow, what a beautiful story.

Kukui, what were your thoughts on "Feed My Sheep?"

I liked that even though the guy, Gary, he had his own troubles, he decided to help other

people that are in need.

Coming up next, a story from Kapa'a Middle School on Kaua'i.

This story has a lot in common with the previous nominee, because it also is about a nonprofit

that helps people fulfill a basic human need, in this

case, washing clothes.

Nominated for Best Writing, Middle School Division, this is "Love Laundry" from Kapa'a

Middle School.

For the less fortunate, clean laundry can be a luxury.

But the new Laundry Love program in Kapa'a helps

change that.

Laundry Love started in Ventura, California, and has since provided more than six hundred

thousand loads of laundry, caring for more than four hundred fifty thousand people across

the country.

About ten years ago, they had the great idea of giving the opportunity for others who can't

afford laundry the chance to get their laundry done for free.

The goal of Laundry Love is to provide a service to those who can't afford to do laundry on

their own.

I'm so happy they have this, because I injured my knee from falling down, so before when

I used to do my laundry, oh, I'd go back home and I'd have

to recover for three days.

Now that they have this, it really helps me out a lot, tremendously.

And it also helps me out financially, as well.

Community members of all ages are eager to volunteer in many ways after hearing its positive

impact.

Raiden Kurisu, an eighth-grader at Kapa'a Middle School, enjoys helping out whenever

he can and says he, too, gains from the experience.

I feel like Laundry Love has made me learn some important life lessons, such as how to

communicate with other people, and how to actually do

laundry.

It also gives me an opportunity to give back to my

community.

While Laundry Love is an effective program, making the service free to its patrons involves

a strategic financial plan with multiple sources of funding.

Laundry Love is funded entirely by private grants and donations, and also part of the

outreach budget of All Saints' Church.

And what happened is, once the community got wind of it, a lot of people started

donating money, laundry detergent and supplies.

So, it's pretty well-funded now.

The impact of Laundry Love continues to grow with every event.

We do it with a great deal of aloha, and for us as a church, it's really allowed us to

get to know our community in ways that we don't know.

We get to know their stories.

And for those who are our patrons of Laundry Love, it's really given them an

opportunity for dignity and an opportunity for the simple

things of life, like having clean clothes.

No matter the circumstance, Laundry Love Kaua'i provides a free opportunity for clean clothes,

and they hope to continue their laundry-loving efforts

for as long as possible.

This is Preston Hayden from Kapa'a Middle School, for HIKI NŌ.

I'm starting to see a trend here of stories about communities pulling together to help

the less fortunate.

So, what did you think of "Love Laundry?"

Well, I really liked seeing the community band together to help with the project, and

adults working, and also kids working to help with the less fortunate.

What about you?

I thought the same thing.

Now, our next story takes us to Lahaina Intermediate School in West Maui.

This story tackles an issue that has received a lot of coverage by the news media: air conditioning

in classrooms, or the lack thereof.

Nominated for Best Writing, Middle School Division, here is "Air Conditioning" by Lahaina

Intermediate School on Maui.

Imagine being a teacher, and being stuck inside a ninety-degree class for seven hours.

That was the reality for several teachers in portable classrooms

at Lahaina Intermediate School.

It was hard for the kids to study and keep their focus.

The heat would kinda drain them, pull them down,

they get tired and start yawning.

Prior to the air-conditioning units, the portable classrooms felt like they were in a different

part of the island.

It was much more hot and humid, compared to any other classroom on campus.

We would drink maybe five gallons.

We would go through five gallons of water a week prior to the

installation of the air conditioning.

Now, with the air conditioning, that five gallons is lasting us almost

two weeks.

Before, the kids would come in, they would be tired and thirsty, and it would be like,

ninety-eight to a hundred degrees in here.

And who can learn or think in an environment like that?

As the sun got overhead, we could open up the windows on the mauka side, while in the

morning, we opened up the makai side.

But as the sun moved to the makai side, now we had to close the windows on

the makai side to stop the sun from coming in from that side.

So, it's like you're playing against the sun all day long.

We used to monitor the heat in this room with a thermometer we have up on the board, and

it would range between ninety-two, ninety-three degrees.

But the air conditioning did not just magically happen.

Ms. Baagoe, an English teacher here at our school, was tired of sitting in the heat,

so she did something about it.

One day at church, our pastor had gotten wind of the problem here with the air conditioning,

just asked me to stand up in front of the congregation

and tell everybody how hot it was in my classroom.

When I shared that it was ninety-eight to a hundred

degrees, there were donations for at least three air

conditioners for the school here.

Since September of 2015, the air conditioners have made the portables a better place for

all students and teachers.

It dramatically affected the students as far as them being more comfortable in the classroom.

After the installation of the air conditioning, the

temperature dropped dramatically, pretty much maybe ten degrees,

at least ten degrees.

From maybe mid-nineties, ninety-two, ninety-three down to like maybe between

eighty, eighty-two.

It's still somewhat warm, but a lot more manageable than it was before.

As of May 2016, the DOE's heat abatement program has a goal of installing air-conditioning

units in one thousand classrooms.

They have also bought four hundred and two portable air-conditioning units for the

hottest classrooms in Hawai'i.

Now, the learning environment is wonderful.

The kids look forward to coming in, I look forward to

coming in.

I can stay in my classroom and work, I can meet with kids at lunch, at recess in the

classroom, and have meetings here as well.

It's just a complete change-around, like night and day.

This is Jagger King from Lahaina Intermediate School, for HIKI NŌ.

Yet another story of a community pulling together to solve a critical problem.

Kukui, what did you think of the storytelling?

I like it.

What I think I liked most is that I could relate to it.

I know how it feels to be in a classroom that's hot, 'cause I've had those classes

before.

And like how they said in the video, it's really hard to

concentrate.

I really enjoyed the fact that there was an ending to it.

How the community banded together and donated the money that they needed for the air conditioners.

Now, our final nominee in this category comes from

Mililani Middle School in Central O'ahu.

It's about one school's effort to restore an ancient Hawaiian fishpond located in a

very unlikely place.

Nominated for Best Writing, Middle School Division, this is "Mokauea Island" by Mililani

Middle School.

[CHANTING]

A traditional Hawaiian blessing which allows students to step foot on Mokauea Island starts

off an unusual day for Mililani Middle School students.

Mokauea Island is a small island located off of Ke'ehi

Lagoon near the airport on O'ahu.

This historical site was an ancient fishing area where there once were

many fishponds.

Once a year, seventh and eighth students paddle to Mokauea Island for a day of work.

We're just trying to perpetuate the history of this area, getting the kids to know the

history before they come out and work the land, getting the kids

conscious about taking care of the whole Earth.

What we like to focus on is, i ka wa ma mua ka wa

ma hope, which is on the back of our shirts.

That means, the future is in the past, so we have to look

back at what our ancestors laid out for us.

We're basically traveling in the canoe, so we're paddling

in the wake of our ancestors, and then we're walking the 'aina.

Mililani Middle School students have been coming to the island since 2009, doing everything

from planting native plants they raise at school,

to clearing brush.

We had help from the community to just clear this fishpond behind us, getting rid of the

mangrove.

Right now, we're just trying to maintain the mangrove.

Maintaining plants on the island can be a challenge.

One of the problems with being on this island is, it has no natural fresh water.

So, part of the problems with raising plants here is sustainability,

and one of those items is water that we need.

It doesn't rain a lot out here, but when it rains, it storms, it pours.

So, we just have a little waterline coming in, and we have to pay for that water.

So, this water is going to help us to water all of our native

plants.

The water catchment system was a great idea by Jenny Kuwahara.

She's actually Dr. Kuwahara.

She got a grant to put this up on our [INDISTINCT].

In our class recently, we got the opportunity to make water catchment designs which would

be built and to help at Mokauea.

In our group, each person was given a job.

So, one person had to research the materials that we would use, and how much,

because we had a budget.

UH students came, and some of the people that worked on Mokauea came and

took a look at the designs, and they chose the best ones out

of the class.

This project is important because I think Mokauea Island is one of the last places in

Hawai'i how it used to be.

It's important because we're able to still hold onto the past and show how important

it is, so they can continue living their lifestyle.

It's always what we can do for her, not what we can get out of her.

And we would like be able to keep Mokauea for all generations to have it as

an outdoor classroom.

Yes.

This is Savannah Fernandez from Mililani Middle School, for HIKI NŌ.

Wow, another inspiring story.

So, Noah, what did you think of the writing in "Mokauea Island?"

Well, I really like how they captured the Hawaiian mindset of giving back before you

take anything out.

And I think the fact that they're revitalizing the place is just amazing.

I agree, Noah.

And that story rounds out an impressive group of nominees competing the category Best

Writing, Middle School Division.

I have a feeling the judges are going to score these stories very closely.

They're all excellent.

But there are many more categories and nominees to come.

In fact, fellow HIKI NŌ students Lara Sato and Zaccai Ceruti will be presenting the nominees

for Best Writing, High School Division, next week at

the same day and time, right here on PBS Hawai'i.

For updates and for the complete list of nominees in the 2017 HIKI NŌ Awards, visit

PBSHawaii.org/hikino.

Noah and I will be back here in three weeks to present the nominees for Best Overall Story,

Middle School Division.

Until then, a hui hou kakou.

One year on: shuttered Kaesong complex unlikely to reopen anytime soon - Duration: 2:41.

Today marks exactly one year since the shutdown of the Kaesong Industrial Complex -- a joint

inter-Korean economic project just north of the border.

South Korea pulled the plug on it following a long-range missile launch by North Korea.

Our Connie Kim takes a look back at the year... and examines the possibility of the business

park reopening.

"It was this day last year when the last remaining symbol of inter-Korean cooperation, the Kaesong

Industrial Complex stopped operations.

Where there were once trucks and people crossing the border for business, all there can be

heard now are muffled loudspeaker broadcasts coming from the North."

Three days after North Korea fired off a long-range ballistic missile in February 2016, South

Korea was quick to respond by announcing the shut down of Kaesong Industrial Complex.

"South Korea decided to suspend operations to prevent funds from the industrial park

being used to develop North Korea's weapons programs and to protect our businessmen with

operations there."

, .

The North also responded firmly saying it will expel all South Koreans from the complex

and freeze all assets in the industrial park.

This also meant a scrapping of the agreement reached in August 2013 ending a five-month

shutdown, which it said Seoul and Pyongyang guaranteed normal operations at the Kaesong

Industrial Park regardless of state affairs in any circumstances.

After the first sets of pots were produced from the complex in 2004, 123 South Korean

companies had business inside the North with some 54-thousand North Koreans providing much

needed labor until the suspension.

Kaesong was once the biggest contributor to inter-Korean trade, but South Korea has no

plans on re-opening the complex unless the North shows sincerity in giving up its nuclear

weapons program.

Moreover, in the picture, adopted UN Security Council resolutions on North Korea make it

difficult to re-start the Kaesong complex.

Article 34 of Resolution 2270, says that member states should prohibit financial institutions

within their territories from opening branch offices or bank accounts in North Korea,...

while article 31 of Resolution 2321 says that member states should close branch offices

or bank accounts in North Korea.

With the sanctions in full swing and the North vowing to continue its nuclear development,

reopening of the Kaesong complex and resuming economic cooperation between the two Koreas

don't seem to be likely any time soon.

John McCain: Trump's Raid Was A Failure - Duration: 9:35.

DONALD TRUMP IS

CURRENTLY FEUDING ONLY WITH HIS SUPREME COURT NOMINEE, BUT ALSO

SEN.

JOHN MCCAIN.

MOST RECENTLY THOUGH IT'S BECAUSE OF THE

SENATOR'S CRITICISM OF THE RECENT RAID IN YEMEN THAT LEFT

23 CIVILIANS DEAD, INCLUDING NINE CHILDREN, ONE WHO WAS ONLY

THREE MONTHS OLD.

THIS IS THE INCREDIBLY SUCCESSFUL RAID, AS

IT HAS BEEN DESCRIBED BY TRUMP AND HIS REPRESENTATIVES.

WE KNOW

JOHN MCCAIN IS NOT A BIG FAN.

MY UNDERSTANDING IS THAT THE PARAMETERS OF THE RAID IS THAT

THEY WANTED TO CAPTURE INDIVIDUALS, AND OBVIOUSLY THEY

DIDN'T WANT TO KILL CHILDREN OR

WOMEN.

I DON'T THINK YOU CAN, WHEN YOU LOSE A $75 MILLION

AIRPLANE AND MORE IMPORTANTLY

AMERICAN LIVES ARE LOST, I DON'T BELIEVE YOU CAN CALL IT A

SUCCESS?

HOW THE HELL IS HE GOING TO TELL TRUMP, AN EXPERIENCED

VETERAN, WHAT MAKES IT A SUCCESS.

TRUMP RESPONDED IN A

VERY LEVEL HEADED FASHION.

ARE YOU KIDDING ME RIGHT NOW?

THIS IS A GUY WHO SAT ACROSS

FROM BILL O'REILLY AND HAD THE

AUDACITY TO SAY THAT ANYTHING THAT PUTIN DOES IN KILLING

INDIVIDUALS WHO DISAGREE WITH HIM IS OKAY BECAUSE WE ARE NOT

INNOCENT HERE IN AMERICA.

I ASSUME THAT HE WAS TALKING ABOUT

SOME OF OUR FOREIGN POLICY AND HOW MANY CIVILIANS DIE AS A

RESULT.

YOU JUST OKAYED A RAID THAT KILLED 23 CIVILIANS, NINE

CHILDREN, AND ONE INFANT.

AND YOU WANT TO SIT THERE AND

PRETEND LIKE THAT WAS A WIN?

THAT AMERICAN DIED WHILE THEY

WERE FOLLOWING THROUGH ON

SOMETHING YOU BASICALLY GAVE A GREEN LIGHT TO WITHOUT ANY REAL

REFLECTION, EXPERTISE.

THIS IS THE BIGGEST PROBLEM OF ELECTING

A REALITY SHOW STAR, STAR IS A STRONG WORD.

HE'S NOT

KNOWLEDGEABLE ABOUT THESE ISSUES AND IS MAKING BAD DECISIONS LEFT

AND RIGHT.

HE AND HIS CABINET ARE UNPREPARED.

THIS IS A

LIFE-AND-DEATH SITUATION, NOT

JUST FOR CIVILIANS IN YEMEN, OR AMERICAN SOLDIERS, BUT FOR

EVERYONE INVOLVED INCLUDING AMERICANS.

THIS IS THE KIND OF

STUFF THAT LEADS TO HOSTILITY TOWARD THE UNITED STATES.

WHENEVER YOU SEE SOME SMUG PRICK

ON A CABLE NEWS SHOW ASKING WHY DO THEY HATE US?

BECAUSE WE KEEP

KILLING THEIR CHILDREN ABROAD.

DO I WANT TO FIGHT TERRORISM?

ABSOLUTELY.

BUT YOU DON'T DO THAT BY KILLING INNOCENT PEOPLE THAT HAVE

NOTHING TO DO WITH IT WHATSOEVER.

YOU MADE THE COMMENT ABOUT THE DINNER.

IT WAS ACTUALLY

SIGNED OVER DINNER, NOT DURING A

MEETING WITH ADVISORS.

THIS WAS A MISSION THAT HAD BEEN

CONSIDERED FOR SEVERAL MONTHS UNDER OBAMA AND THEY HAD

DECLINED TO PURSUE IT BECAUSE

THEY CONSIDERED IT TO RISQU….

TRUMP CRUISED IN, SAT DOWN IN

FRONT OF A LOBSTER, AND SIGNED

OFF ON IT.

SO THAT IS SCARY.

BUT I DO WANT TO TURN BACK TO THE

REFERENCE TO THE NAVY SEAL WHO

DIED.

AND THAT BEING USED AS AN ARGUMENT FOR WHY NO ONE CAN

CRITICIZE THIS MISSION.

THAT WASN'T AN OFFHAND TWEET BY THE PRESIDENT.

IT WAS ABSOLUTELY A SUCCESS AND I THINK ANYONE WHO WOULD

SUGGEST NOT DOES A DISSERVICE TO THE LIFE OF CHIEF RYAN OWENS.

HE

FOUGHT KNOWING WHAT WAS AT STAKE

IN THAT MISSION AND ANYBODY WHO WOULD SUGGEST OTHERWISE DOESN'T

APPRECIATE HOW SUCCESSFUL THAT MISSION WAS.

WHAT THE

INFORMATION THAT THEY WERE ABLE TO RETRIEVE WAS, AND HOW THAT

WILL HELP PREVENT FUTURE TERRORIST ATTACKS.

I THINK MY

STATEMENT IS VERY CLEAR ON THAT.

I THINK ANYBODY WHO UNDERMINES THE SUCCESS OF THAT RAGE OWES AN

APOLOGY AND A DISSERVICE TO THE

LIFE OF CHIEF OWENS.

CAN I ANSWER THE QUESTION?

PLEASE LET

ME FINISH.

THE RAID ñ THE ACTION IN YEMEN WAS A HUGE SUCCESS.

AMERICAN LIVES WILL BE SAVED BECAUSE OF IT.

FUTURE ATTACKS

WILL BE PREVENTED.

THE LIFE OF CHIEF RYAN OWENS WAS DONE IN

SERVICE TO THIS COUNTRY AND WE OWE HIM AND HIS FAMILY A GREAT

DEBT FOR THE INFORMATION THAT WE RECEIVED DURING THAT RAID.

I

THINK ANY SUGGESTION OTHERWISE IS A DISSERVICE TO HIS

COURAGEOUS LIFE AND THE ACTIONS HE TOOK.

IS THAT YOUR MESSAGE TO SEN.

JOHN MCCAIN?

THAT IS MY MESSAGE TO ANYBODY.

YOU KNOW WHAT IS A DISSERVICE TO THE NAVY SEAL?

PUTTING HIM IN

A RAID THAT WAS NOT AN APPROPRIATE MISSION TO CARRY

OUT.

GREEN LIGHTING THAT KIND OF RAID THAT LEADS TO A NAVY SEAL

DYING AND A BUNCH OF INNOCENT CIVILIANS DYING AS A RESULT.

THIS IS ALL CRAZY AND HE JUST STANDS THERE AND HE LIES TO

EVERYONE.

TRUMP LIES TO EVERYONE.

HOW CAN YOU SAY THIS

WAS A WIN?

WHAT KIND OF INFORMATION DID YOU COLLECT IN

THIS SITUATION?

AND ALSO JUMP CARES ABOUT INTELLIGENCE AND

INFORMATION ABOUT FUTURE TERRORIST ATTACKS?

HE DOESN'T

EVEN WANT TO SIT DOWN AND LISTEN TO INTELLIGENCE BRIEFINGS.

IT IS

ALL LIES.

FOR THE FIRST TIME EVER I AM GENUINELY CONCERNED

ABOUT OUR NATIONAL SECURITY BECAUSE IF WE HAVE A PRESIDENT

WHO DOESN'T WANT TO LISTEN TO THOSE BRIEFINGS, DOESN'T TRUST

INTELLIGENCE COMMUNITIES, AND

WHO CARRIES OUT RAIDS LIKE THIS WHAT IS GOING TO HAPPEN?

WHAT IF

THEY WANT TO RETALIATE?

WE NEED SOMEONE WHO IS COMPETENT, AND

RIGHT NOW WE DON'T HAVE SOMEONE.

ON TOP OF THIS THERE IS A

POTENTIAL OF US INVADING A COUNTRY LIKE IRAN.

WHAT HE SAID RIGHT THERE IS YOU CAN'T CRITICIZE THIS BECAUSE

IF YOU DO YOU ARE OFFENDING THE MEMORY OF THE NAVY SEAL WHO

DIED.

SEAN SPICER YOU CAN GO FUCK YOURSELF BECAUSE I CAN'T

THINK OF ANYTHING MORE IMMORAL AND COWARDLY THAN ATTEMPTING TO

HIDE BEHIND THE DEATH OF A US SERVICE MEMBER TO PROTECT A

POLICY.

PEOPLE DIED IN BENGHAZI, BUT THE REPUBLICANS DIDN'T FEEL

LIKE THEY COULDN'T TALK ABOUT

THAT FOR THOUSANDS OF HOURS BECAUSE THAT WOULD DO A

DISSERVICE TO THE MEMORIES OF

THOSE WHO DIED THERE.

DONALD TRUMP HAS TWEETED ABOUT IT

DOZENS OF TIMES.

THIS IS AN INTERESTING NEW STRATEGY ON

THEIR PART.

IT ALSO SETS UP A

PERVERSE INCENTIVE.

IF YOU ONLY CAN'T ARGUE AGAINST THIS MISSION

BECAUSE A US SERVICE MEMBER DIED, FROM THEIR POINT OF VIEW

IT IS PREFERABLE THAT SOMEONE

DIES ON THE MISSION.

BECAUSE IF THAT NAVY SEAL HAD COME BACK WE

COULD CRITICIZE THEM FOR THE

DEBTS OF THE CIVILIANS, FOR THE PLANE GOING DOWN, FOR YEMEN

WITHDRAWING PERMISSION FROM US TO DO GROUND MISSIONS.

THERE IS

A LOT OF REASONS TO QUESTION WHETHER OR NOT THIS WAS A

SUCCESS OR NOT.

BUT FROM THEIR POINT OF VIEW, THANK GOD SOMEONE

DIED SO WE CAN BE FREE OF CRITICISM.

ISN'T THAT CONVENIENT

AND SICK?

EVERYONE SHOULD BE CONCERNED ABOUT THE FACT THAT THIS

ADMINISTRATION LACKS THE ABILITY TO REFLECT ON ITS MISTAKES AND

CHANGE COURSE MOVING FORWARD.

DONALD TRUMP IS UNABLE TO EVER

TAKE RESPONSIBILITY FOR ANYTHING HE POTENTIALLY DOES WRONG.

HE

THINKS HE IS RIGHT ABOUT

EVERYTHING AND WILL RETALIATE AGAINST ANYONE WHO HAS THE

AUDACITY TO CRITICIZE HIM OR SOME OF HIS POLICIES.

THAT

SHOULD CONCERN EVERYONE.

REGARDLESS OF WHICH POLITICIAN

YOU SUPPORTED OR VOTED FOR, THEY MAKE MISTAKES AND YOU SHOULD BE

ABLE TO CRITICIZE THEM.

OBAMA MADE A LOT OF MISTAKES,

ESPECIALLY WHEN IT CAME TO FOREIGN POLICY AND DRONE

STRIKES.

WE RIGHTFULLY CRITICIZE

HIM FOR DOING THAT AND HE SHOULD BE ABLE TO REFLECT ON HIS

MISTAKES AND TAKE

RESPONSIBILITY.

DONALD TRUMP WILL NEVER TAKE RESPONSIBILITY.

AND HE WILL RETALIATE IF YOU DO CRITICIZE HIM.

How to Protect Yourself and Recover From Psychic Vampire Attacks - Duration: 7:49.

How to Protect Yourself and Recover From Psychic Vampire Attacks

The following are some suggestions on how to protect yourself from vampire attacks and/or

recover from them.

Awareness

To protect yourself and/or recover from any psychic vampire attack you must of course,

first realize you have been or are being attacked.

To do this, you must cultivate awareness within yourself.

Practicing meditation or just trying to focus and become more attuned daily and in general

to your bodys subtle reactions to its environment will help to achieve awareness and develop

intuition.

Rest, Eat, and Relax: If you feel drained and excessively tired after being around a

certain person on rare occasions, and you believe it is because he/she is a psy-vamp,

the most effective thing you can do is just sleep, eat and relax.

For at least a week or so, keep a regular sleep cycle, eat nutritious balanced meals,

and meditate/listen to music/relax.

This should help replenish your normal level of energy.

Light Exercise in addition to resting, eating and relaxing will also help to build up your

natural psychic defense system and boost your energy levels.

Closing the Circuit

If you believe you are being attacked by a psychic vampire at a specific moment and want

to block the vampire from feeding, the quickest way to do so is by sitting in the following

posture.

Cross your ankles and place the tips of your index fingers and thumbs (of each opposing

hand) together.

This will close off your personal cycle of energy to the outside world and looks casual

and unobtrusive when you are in public places.

Aura Cleansing

And I dont mean a puppy lick, here, folks were talking about some deep down and dirty

energy cleansing.

The aura, as Ive explained is the energy that surrounds your body and as such can be

cleaned to help the body, mind and spirit to become healthier.

The next time you are taking a shower or a bath, take some deep breaths and really make

an effort to feel the water against your skin.

Visualize that this water is cleansing away all the weak spots you perceive intuitively

throughout your body.

If you know are good at meditation, try visualizing our energy and finding out where dark patches

may breach the light.

If you can actually see auras, you may view long black astral tentacles issuing

forth from the weak, dark spots in your aura.

If this is the case, a psy-vamp is probably still attacking you from a distance.

Youll need to sever the tie.

To do this, imagine the pure light of the universe, the light of your energy issuing

in a beam from your fingertips.

Use this beam to slice through the tentacles, then allow the water and its energy to wash

away the remaining black splotches.

You may consider additionally following the advice under Astral Fortification, listed

below.

Cast the Circle

Allow us to indulge in the wonderful world of simplified wicca 101 for a moment or two.

The point of casting a circle is mainly to clean a sacred space for yourself to be protected

from nasty, not so nice forces of energy.

This is designed for use following aura cleansing and once completed will give you the additional

chance to meditate in a safe spiritual environment as well as combine acts of meditation with

astral fortification, if you chose.

First, youll need a small amount of salt, sand or dirt a small dish of watera

candle (preferably white or black) some incense and finally, a compass to determine

which direction is North.

Determine your sacred area of choice and roughly imagine the shape of a circle to surround

it.

To the North of the circle, place the element of earth (the salt/sand/dirt).

To the south place the candle (fire) but do not light it.

To the West (water) place the dish of water.

And to the East place the incense (air), but do not light it.

Stand in the center of the circle facing East and take some deep breaths until you are calm

and focused on the task at hand only.

Ask in your own words that nature, your deity of choice or the world in general offers you

protection from the East, purified by the element of air.

Light the incense and walk around the perimeter of the circle until you reach East again,

then put the incense back down on the ground.

Face South and ask again for protection from the south, purified by the element of fire.

Light the candle and walk around the perimeter until you reach south again, and put the candle

on the ground.

Face West, ask it for protection purified by the element of water.

Walk around the perimeter splashing little bits of water as you walk, then out the water

back at the western location.

Turn North and ask it for protection purified by the element of earth, then walk around

the perimeter sprinkling salt/sand/etc as you go.

Return to place it on the ground at Norths spot.

Stand in the center of the circle and look above you.

Imagine a symbol that represents power and security for you (a cross, ankh, God figure,

whatever applies), and imagine that symbol projected into the air above your head.

Ask it for protection.

Then look below your feet, beyond the floor, and again imagine the symbol of power and

ask it for protection.

Turn to the spaces in between each of the four elemental anchors of the circle and for

each, imagine the symbol projected into the air and ask for protection.

Finally, imagine the bubble surrounding you and protecting you and state something like

I stand in a sacred space.

No negative forces/energy may enter here. Thus, your circle is cast.

Astral Fortification

This is a method designed for slightly more advanced students learning about prana.

It should be performed as an extension to astral cleansing and meditation, so if you

dont know how to do either of these things, learn how under the descriptions above and

below.

To create a psychic shield for yourself, first you must lead yourself into a state of meditative

repose... and then allowing the light to fill you.

Once you are at that level of meditative state, astrally fortifying yourself is fairly simple.

Repeat a mantra silently to yourself along the lines of I am protected from all psychic

harm and visualize astral spikes forming upon your aura.

When the spikes cover your aura entirely, say that the spikes will keep out harm at

all time.

Take some deep breaths, then more forcefully to yourself say that the spikes will appear

under any astral attack.

Release the glowing ball of light as normal and watch your astral spikes fold down

in waiting.

Reconnect to your sense of self as normal.

In the future this psychic shielding effect should help protect against psychic vampire

and other invading astral attacks.

It is a good idea to repeat this rite every once in awhile.

How to build a knowledge transfer system in an engineering company - Duration: 13:24.

>> NICOLE: This is Nicole from the Mosaic Family of Companies.

Today we're talking to Brad Schroeder, who has been an engineer at Oil Country Engineering

since 2011.

Brad, how's it going today?

>> BRAD: Good.

How about yourself?

>> NICOLE: Pretty good.

Can you briefly tell our audience a little bit about yourself and what you do at Oil

Country?

>> BRAD: Yeah, like you said, I'm an engineer here – mechanical.

Most of my time at Oil Country is done designing equipment – oil field and otherwise.

>> NICOLE: Perfect.

And what are you going to talk to us about today?

>> BRAD: Today I'm talking to you about something else that fills my time, which is

handling our knowledge transfer system at Oil Country.

> NICOLE: Okay.

I'll leave you to it.

>> BRAD: So this presentation is going to show a little bit about the history of knowledge

transfer at Oil Country, what that really means, and some of the pitfalls we've had

along the way, and some of the things we're working on now.

So typical knowledge systems don't exist.

Best case is that there's some rule of thumb, verbal communication given from an employer.

You want to know the answer to a questions, you kind of ask the guy who knows, and he

tells you.

Worst case is something people call Theory X Management, or essentially, "You do what

I tell you to.

You don't know unless I tell you."

So both fairly, well the second fairly negative and not really inductive to knowledge for

an organization.

So why did Oil Country start a knowledge transfer system?

Well, when I started, along with a few others, there's many of us who were relatively new

to the company as well as to the industry and naturally have a lot of questions to do

our job.

And we got the answers of those questions from typically one or two people in our organization

who kind of had that industry knowledge.

And that worked out okay, but there's bottleneck resource, or having to go through one person

for kind of simple tasks, or simple information.

It just seemed like it should be at our fingertips a lot more easily, so we had the idea, "How

can we get this information out of this person's head, for example, and into a book, into a

system, into something where you're not answering the same question all the time to

different people?"

So we started thinking about that and we pulled out information from the people who had the

experience in the industry, as well as information on technical codes and specifications and

products that were typical questions is kind of what we focused on.

And we recorded those and we started putting them onto the computer.

This led into what developed into Oil Country's OneNote database.

So we were using the software OneNote to capture all of this information.

There was a few reasons we went with that: We wanted something that was really easy to

search, really easy to add, and really not cumbersome in any way.

And trying out a few different softwares, we went with OneNote and have been using it

since.

So that is something that I led the effort on that, and organizing it and creating the

system and how it would work and how people would access it and how it would work on everyone's

computers and so forth.

So now I'll kind of explain a little bit about what that looked like for us.

So we started with the structure that you see here where we had a few different OneNote

database folders, and inside of each we could then kind of start sorting some of this information.

So we started with the basic one – the Library folder.

This was specifications; so for us a lot of API specifications, AISC, so different PDF

documents would live in there.

And the benefit of putting them inside of here instead of a typical Windows structure

like we had was that you could search within all of them – every word within every PDF

document – at the same time.

So if you don't know what you don't know, and you're looking for a specification,

if you type it inside of OneNote it's searching inside of all the specifications that we have

at the same time.

So you don't have to kind of wonder well, you know if I'm looking up properties on

wire rope for steel design, is there a specification on that or not?

If you don't know, you type it in and it turns out, yeah fair enough – there actually

is one.

So it was a real benefit that way.

We also split it up into component design, so if you're designing a specific item – a

fall arrest system, a skid-based design – there's some typical dos and don'ts of that that

if you've done it before you know, but if you haven't you don't know and so we had

that folder for all of those component designs.

Then we had another one where we said, "Okay, well what about if you're doing some more

general design?

I want to know more about what's welding common practices?

What about using bolts and torque specs?

And what about sort of more general, applicable knowledge?"

So we had our general design and analysis, so engineering information that's applicable

to multiple designs.

And then our fourth one we had at the beginning was our oilfield KT – general information

on the oilfield that you might not know if you're just out of school or new to the

industry, so processes our customers have, a lot of information about definitions of

different words so you can kind of look that up yourself.

So that's where that started, and here are a few pages that we created - just some examples

of what this might look like.

So this page here is how to work within one software to another, so SAFI to ANSYS to do

some force reaction validation.

So it's a process that typically someone would explain over the shoulder to another

engineer and then two months later you'd hear them explaining again to a different

engineer.

So rather than have that happen multiple times, let's document this, let's explain how

it is, and now they can look that up.

Here's a page on how to straighten a mast that was bent, so this is a trip that I went

on down to Columbia, and as I was doing it I was taking notes on all the dos and don'ts

of how to do this, and then made a page on it.

And since then we have done that again, and that's been something that we've referred

back to complete with common pitfalls and things to avoid.

Another section on some software – Inventor and AutoCad back and forth.

Some more analysis here.

This page is on buckling in SAFI, so very important to do buckling analysis checks and

how to do those, making sure we get those right and consistent.

This page here is what's called a crown out, and if you've never heard of what that

is, well you type it into our database and it tells you why that might happen, what the

effects of it are.

If you go to see one of these what you want to look for, what questions to ask, what to

do following up.

And so this kind of goes on – non-destructive testing – we had people come in and present

and we documented all of that and put it in there.

And again, the list goes on so to speak.

So those are eight pages of examples.

Currently we have over 300 pages, so that kind of gives an idea of how that's taken

off and grown over the years.

But what happened as we went forward is we realized not everybody learns necessarily

from just reading from a computer screen.

There's that– you need to experience it and do it yourself to learn it, or have that

conversation.

And so to kind of supplement there, we started what we called our Oil Country Colleges.

So this was something that we did once a week and still do where there'd be a list of

topics that people would put up and say, "Hey it would be great if someone would present

on that last inspection they went on, or that last repair procedure.

Like what'd you find, what happened?"

To have that formal conversation rather than just a page to read later.

And so this is something that we started doing, and we've had great success with this with

over 100 different lectures on typically technical topics.

So then taking it further we said, "Okay, well that's great.

So we've got our OneNote database system that we can look up kind of information that

can be codified.

We've got the lectures that we can go back and forth on kind of in a group setting.

But what about mistakes that we keep making?"

So this isn't enough on its own, so where to take it from there?

So what we did from there is we started our engineering and designer's roundtable.

So what that is for us is typically every month we'll have a meeting where our group

of engineers, as well as our group of designers and drafters, will get together and they'll

discuss kind of the issues of the month, the mistakes that we've made that we've tracked,

and how we can work on those if there's specific actions that people need to take,

and just share that knowledge in a casual setting but also in a kind of working group

setting where we then takeaway action items.

Okay, do we need to standardize a process?

How did this error happen?

How can we be better next time?

So that's kind of the history of knowledge transfer and where we're at today is that

our rate of change, so our rate of growth of new projects, exceeds our rate of training.

So we constantly have people learning new topics and new ideas and new challenges, yet

that is going at a faster rate than our training can keep up.

So our plan to battle this is what we're calling our competency training program, which

is still kind of in its infancy – but the idea being that this is going to accelerate

our rate of training to catch up with our rate of change, or at least track very closely

with it.

There's a lot of different ways that that can look, and that's a challenge that we're

facing right now and everyone learns differently, and how to do that from a mentorship perspective

to formal training to in-the-field – there's a lot of different challenges that we're

going to face on that yet.

But that's a battle we're willing to take on.

So in terms of our customers, something that we would say that this does for them – why

do they care?

Why does this matter?

Something that we've had in the past is that a customer may want to speak to one particular

employee because of a relationship, and that's understandable, but sometimes they want to

talk to a particular employee because they feel that that's the employee that has that

knowledge.

And that can be the case – you can only avoid that so much – but our goal here is

to raise everyone's level of knowledge so it's not in the head of one.

It's in the head of the group.

And we've seen that happen, at least to some extent.

Something else that we use to explain it is the concept of knowledge as a T; so the top

of the T being the breadth and the vertical portion being the depth.

So if this is anyone person's knowledge, our employees have different breadths and

depths of knowledge.

Some employees are very deep in one particular topic, but narrow in their breadth.

Whereas others kind of know a little bit about everything, but don't go so deep into one.

When you combine all these and you share that information as an organization, the benefit

is that you get an organization that kind of has breadth and depth to it.

You're not just getting a technical expert in one aspect, but you're getting multiple

experts.

You're getting a breadth of information and that's been huge for us in tackling

new projects and sharing information going forward.

So that kind of summarizes our, you know, quick view on our knowledge transfer system

and some of the battles we've had with it.

I could talk lots more about it, but that gives you a little overview.

>> NICOLE: Thanks Brad, that's really informative.

So what I heard you say is in Oil Country's knowledge transfer system, there's sort

of four components.

The first being we have a OneNote database.

Number two; we give lectures on technical topics in the form of Oil Country Colleges.

We have engineering and designer roundtables, and the fourth component is a competency training

program.

If another engineering firm were to undergo building their own knowledge transfer system,

what kind of advice would you give them?

Where should they start?

>> BRAD: Well, what worked with us was trying to identify some of the low-hanging fruit

and get engagement.

It's easy to see something like this and to say, "Hey, that looks great.

Let's copy that."

And that can be done, but the biggest challenge for us at the start was getting buy in, particularly

from the people that have the knowledge in their heads – usually the people who are

the busiest.

And so we kind of really explained the issue and how this is going to free up time for

them and be better for them, and once we had the people with the information – kind of

the people who have been here longer buying in – that's when it just kind of took

off.

Because the younger employees, they're going to be behind it.

They're the ones who need that knowledge to do their jobs.

So getting buy in is probably the biggest challenge we had at the start, and then once

we did start I would say start with some low-hanging fruit on kind of the simple questions and

go from there.

>> NICOLE: That's really great.

Any other thoughts that you want to share on KT?

>> BRAD: Oh man, it's been an interesting journey with that.

I'm looking forward to lots more.

As much as these systems are great, you can't really beat the learning from doing, but when

we do learn from doing and we do make mistakes, we try very hard to document those and to

talk about them as a group and not view them as being something super negative, but something

we can learn from.

So if you have that kind of culture to back it, then you can go pretty far with this.

>> NICOLE: That's great.

Thank you so much for your time.
