Youtube daily report w Feb 14 2017

"Then the whole town will ask, 'why, this boy never sleeps, no keeper before ever kept

what he keeps! there's no telling what that young fellow will do!" and then, just to

show them, I'll sail to ka-troo and bring back an it-kutch, a preep and a proo a nerkle,

a nerd and a seersucker too!"

This is the first ever instance of the word "nerd" in the English language, in the

1950 doctor Seuss book "If I Ran the Zoo."

But, as you can see, there are six other made up words on that page alone, and none of them

went on to be particularly widely used, so dr Seuss probably isn't responsible for

popularizing the term.

Especially considering that this fellow here doesn't bare any obvious resemblance to

our modern idea of the nerd.

A better candidate for the first real instance of the word "nerd" comes just one year

later in an issue of Newsweek, which reads: "In Detroit, someone who once would be called

a drip or a square is now, regrettably, a nerd, or in a less severe case, a scurve."

Here we see it used in a much more familiar sense, but still not quite the way most of

us understand it.

Other examples of the word come soon after, and a lot of them compare the word "nerd"

to the word "square," so let's talk about the word "square" for a second.

There's a popular etymology of the word "square" that claims that it originally

referenced the way a conductor's hands move when they conduct a regular four-four beat.

That origin may or may not be true, but at any rate, the word "square" really did

come from jazz culture, where at first it referred mostly to people who didn't appreciate

jazz, but it wound up being expanded to mean traditional, conservative and close minded.

It seems like in the 1950s when it was first becoming popular the word nerd was used more

or less the same way, as a way for jazz musicians and beatniks to describe the more mainstream

culture and institutions that looked down on them.

It didn't mean introverted or bad at socializing or smart or obsessed with some subject or

even necessarily unpopular.

All it really meant was traditional and boring.

It wasn't until the around 1960 that people started using the word "nerd" to mean

roughly what we think of today.

Now, there's an argument to be made that the idea of the nerd is much older than that.

The term "greasy grind," had been used since the 1800s to describe students who focused

on academics to the exclusion of extra-curricular actives, or making friends.

Likewise, something we could easily call nerd culture is also pretty old, but it wasn't

until the early '60s that the word "nerd" really became associated with the modern "nerd"

stereotype.

People with poor fashion sense, poor social skills and uncommon interests, people who's

obsession with the minutia of some topic made them boring to be around.

I've read reports of it being used like this as early as 1959, but it seems to me

like it took until the '70s to really become mainstream.

At this point Fonzie from Happy days was regularly using it, and the SNL skit "the Nerds"

also probably helped popularize it around the same time.

But then, just as the word was peaking in popularity, its meaning started to shift for

a second time.

I've found it difficult to pin down exactly when and how this happened, but I'd say

that the '80s and '90s comprise a sort of transition period during which the term

"nerd" became less and less derogatory.

It still wasn't exactly cool to be a nerd, but in tv and movies from the time nerds increasingly

became the protagonists rather than just comic relief.

The obvious example of this is Revenge of the Nerds.

In this movie, we're still supposed to laugh at the main characters for being so nerdy,

but we're also supposed to root for them and to think that their treatment is unjust.

Also, quick tangent, it wasn't until this period that the term "geek" comes into

the pictures.

See, originally the two words "geek" and "nerd" weren't just different, they

were complete opposites.

While "nerd" referred to people who were boringly conventional, "geek" was a synonym

for "freak" to the extent that circuses would literally advertise their "geek pits"

the same way they'd advertise a freak show.

So when in the 1980s people started using the phrase "computer geek" to describe

people who were really interested in computers it would have sounded to them basically the

same as "computer freak."

But, at that point, sense the stereotypes surrounding people who were really into computers

were basically the same as the nerd stereotype, it was kind of inevitable for the two words

to start converging.

There are still people who insist that there's an important difference, but I'd argue that

at this point the two are basically interchangeable.

Anyway, on the other end of this transition period the term nerd had gone through a radical

shift in meaning.

At least as early as the 1990s certain social groups were describing themselves as nerds,

and especially after the dot com boom people started wearing the term "nerd" as a badge

of honor.

It kinda looks like once the word "nerd" became seen as a subculture rather than the

boring mainstream, it gradually started seeming cool and rebellious.

Look at the way the characters in Big Bang theory treat the word "nerd":

"you've created some sort of nerd-vana!" "what do you mean 'aw,' like she didn't

know we were nerds?"

They use it to just matter-of-factly describe certain types of interests, particularly having

to do with science and technology and science-fiction.

Compare that to the way in the 1970s the characters in Happy Days hate the prospect of being labeled

nerds: "because we go to chess club and eat dinner

with our parents and wear matching jackets!"

"Well it was terrible!

It's a nerd party!"

"Yeah?

Who won?" "…it's not important."

Sometime between the two the term not only lost its sting but became a proud self-description,

broadened to anyone who's deeply enthusiastic and knowledgable about something.

Maybe I'm just weird but I don't think in my lifetime I've ever heard someone sincerely

use the word "nerd" as an insult.

From my point of view, someone who did so would be woefully behind the times and embarrassingly

unfamiliar with modern language use and culture in general.

In other words, they'd be a bit of a square.

Crowdfunding für golf4you auf Companisto - Duration: 3:49.

Michel Brendel / businessman Founder of golffriends.com Founder of gftravel.com

Co-founder of golf4you.com 12 years experience in the golf industry

Booking golf trips takes time and also takes a toll on your nerves.

One has to visit many different internet portals until everything - flights, hotels

... airport transfer, golf courses, tee times - has been put together.

Or you book with a golf travel agency and deal with countless e-mails and phone calls.

golf4you solves all of these problems at once.

Find the right hotel, book your flight, take care of transportation

... and book tee times in real time.

golf4you is the first travel portal where you can book your entire golf trip:

One log-in. One reservation. One payment process.

There's no portal comparable to golf4you.

This may be surprising to outsiders

... but those working in the travel industry know why this is:

There are two different types of providers on the market:

The large travel providers for which the golf market is too small

...they put in a half-hearted effort and consider this to be a side project.

And then there's the small specialists that take good care of their clients

...but have to do everything manually because they don't have the right technology.

Most large providers are unable to offer normal services online, which should be standard:

...Reserving seats, food, and booking golf baggage, etc.

And our software has been designed for these small but distinctive features.

...and we've since also expanded to cover golf.

And we're not starting from scratch:

We've got over 100,000 potential customers from the golffriends community.

with golf4you, both the technology and market reach hold true.

The demand for a booking portal for golf trips is definitely there.

There are approximately 800,000 golfers in Germany, Austria, and Switzerland.

This is the second largest golf market in Europe.

And golfers are especially fond of travelling.

On average, they go on two golf vacations a year.

We surveyed 2,500 golfers on their traveling behavior

... and know that they spend an average of €1,500 for one week of their golf vacation.

This significantly more than your normal vacationer.

This adds up to an annual market volume of €2 billion.

We believe that we'll be able to quickly grown in this lucrative market

...and achieve an annual profit margin of 6 - 8% starting in 2021.

golf4you is the exclusive travel operator of the golffriends community.

In May 2017, we're going to launch with our first destinations.

In summer, we're going to continue optimizing our marketing measures and systems

...so that we're completely ready for the beginning of the fall season in September 2017.

Additional destinations in Spain and Portugal

...as well as our first long-haul destinations will be added in 2018.

Invest with us in the future of the golf travel industry now.

And Cut! Hey, good job!

Really?

Yes, for sure!

But didn't you forget something?

Yeah, you're right!

Those who invest €500 or more, receive an an additional

...10% of their total investment in flight vouchers.

Exactly, and that's a wrap. Now let's grab a coffee!

Cool!

The Other Son Of Will Smith You Don't Hear Much About - Duration: 4:51.

There few Hollywood kids as high profile as Will Smith's children Jaden and Willow.

So it might surprise you to find out that he has a third kid named Trey.

In fact, if people have heard of Trey, it's likely due to a popular internet meme poking

fun at just how unknown he is compared to his younger brother and sister.

But Trey is a lot more than just a reddit punchline.

Here's a look at Will Smith's other son you don't hear much about.

His mother is on Hollywood Exes

Will Smith had been starring on The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air for two years when he and

new wife Sheree had their first and only child, Trey, in 1992.

Three years later, with Will blowing up to become one of the biggest movie stars on the

planet, the marriage ended.

But even though Sheree starred on the VH1 reality show Hollywood Exes, she actually

seems to get along quite well with Smith, keeping the drama on the small screen and

out of their personal lives.

She told Marketing Ministry that maintaining a good relationship was important for Trey's

sake.

"I know sometimes we have a tendency to use our kids as pawns — and if I'm mad at you

then you're not going to see [your father].

That's so foolish, because you're taking it out on your child."

He starred in a music video

Considering Trey now works as a DJ and electronic music producer, it's fitting that he made

his showbiz debut at the age of 5 in his father's music video for the song "Just the Two of

Us," which reached number 20 on Billboard's Hot 100 in 1998.

"Now dad, this is a very sensitive subject."

But that was about it for Trey's Hollywood career.

Unlike brother Jaden, he never seem to catch the acting bug.

And speaking of Jaden, he also made a cameo appearance in the "Just the Two of Us" video

— in his mother's womb.

Now that's precocious!

Tight with Jaden and Willow

Just because he doesn't spend much time in the spotlight doesn't mean he's not close

with his siblings.

In fact, Trey isn't shy about sharing family photos on social media, and under his stage

name AcE, he collaborated with Willow and Jaden on a song called "Find You Somewhere"

in 2012.

He also produced Willow's single "Why Don't You Cry," and cross promotes his own music

through Jaden's multifaceted brand, MSFTS.

And they all got together for this super touching Mother's Day tribute to Jada Pinkett Smith.

"Honestly ma, like I literally appreciate you so so much.

I'm so blessed to have you as my bonus mother in my life.

Thank you, for being you ma.

I love you."

Awww!

He's ripped

Like his dad, who bulked up for roles in films like I Am Legend and Ali, Trey has been hitting

the gym hard and isn't shy about posting proof of it on Instagram.

Besides inheriting his dad's good genes, though, Trey has also been working with Austin Wheatley,

a professional trainer and former pro-footballer.

Which makes sense, because Trey himself was a wide receiver at famed Oaks Christian High

School, which won consecutive district championships during his time at the school.

Trey was so good, he was offered a football scholarship to Northern Arizona, which he

reportedly passed on in order to pursue his music career.

Working the red carpet

Even though Trey never pursued an acting career, that doesn't mean he wasn't comfortable in

front of the camera at a very young age.

At 12 years old, Access Hollywood hired him to be a special correspondent, reporting live

from the red carpet at the Young Hollywood Awards.

He did a great job flagging down A-list celebs such as Eva Longoria, Jessica Alba, and Lindsay

Lohan, and even asked them some hard hitting questions.

"You heard Aisha's speech right?

"Yes I did."

"And those curves, oh!

I want to personally thank you Lindsay for making Hollywood safe again for girls who

are naturally stacked."

"What does stacked mean?"

"Stacked… look it up in the dictionary."

Sneaker model

Collaborating with Creative Recreation, a Los Angeles-based sneaker company, Trey become

a sneaker model.

He told Pret-a-Porter magazine, "I feel like the shoes I wear each day set a piece of that

day's tempo.

When I'm DJ'ing I usually like any sleek low profile shoes — when I'm up there on stage

I don't want shoes being louder than my mix."

Which makes perfect sense.

Who among us hasn't been in the club just getting jiggy with it only to be completely

distracted by the DJ's footwear selection?

It's a real evening killer.

Carlton taught him how to drive

This may sound hard to imagine, but Alfonso Ribeiro, who played Carlton alongside Will

Smith on The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air, is an avid race car enthusiast and has even driven

in a Grand Prix here or there.

For some crazy reason, Smith thought this was a good reason to let Ribeiro teach Trey

how to drive.

"So Trey goes and he takes all the lessons, and he learns how to you know, catch the car

if it drifts and slides, and they teach him all of that stuff.

And then I get a call from the pastor of the church that he was doing donuts in the church

parking lot."

You know, that actually sounds like it could be the plot for an episode of Fresh Prince.

Looks like the apple hasn't fallen far from the tree at all.

All Rich People Are Greedy! Debunked - Duration: 16:14.

These rich people, you know, don't you get sick and tired of them.

All they care about is money!

They're such greedy people.

Right?

You know, it's crazy all this stuff I'm telling you, I grew up believing this.

I literally grew up despising rich people.

I had certain relatives, when we grew up in Tehran, Iran, we were a low-income family,

so I never lived in a house.

Never.

I never lived in a house.

We never had a back yard, it was always an apartment.

And so we came to the States, parents get a divorce.

I joined the Army and got out, and all of a sudden, I read a quote in book I read, when

I was at Bally Total Fitness, this guy recommends me this book, and the quote is, "If you're

born poor, it's not your fault.

But if you die poor, it's your fault.

By Bill Gates.

I said, "Wait a minute.

What do you mean if I'm born poor, it's not my fault, but if I die poor, it's my fault.

You're trying to say if I don't die rich, it's my fault, and it's all because of me?

Yes!

Why?

Because you control your choices.

Your friendships, your association with what you feed your mind, what you read, how much

T.V. you watch, how hard you work, how much you're improving, what industry.

These are all your choices.

You have your choices.

But Pat, I live in a different country.

But you have a choice to live there or not, or leave to another country.

But Pat, you don't understand.

. . You have choices.

And when that got into my brain, I realized one thing.

I had a choice to think all rich people were greedy and bad people.

And you and I will never become what we hate.

And I couldn't stand rich people.

And I had to shift that mind.

And let me tell you, it's not easy to do.

I had to shift that mindset.

When I did, and I realized all these stereotypes and these myths, all of them, were debunked,

then I started thinking in a completely different way.

And I'm here to tell you, my entire outcome of this entire video is for you, by the time

we're done, if you don't have any problem with rich people, then this video's just going

to validate a lot of the points that you have for yourself, and even give you more ammunition

when you talk to other people.

But if you're somebody that grew up in a family that didn't have a lot of money, and you have

this intuition or you have this stereotype of how rich people are, I hope by the time

we're done you're going to think about it differently.

Now, let's start off here.

#1:Rich people, man, they're not happy.

They're so miserable.

You know, rich people are not happy.

You think they're happy?

They're not happy.

I would hear this stuff, right?

Here's what I learned about how rich people are.

It's not the fact that they're not happy.

They're absolutely very happy.

They're not content.

They are not content.

Let me elaborate.

So, New England Patriots just won the Super Bowl this past week and what's the coaches

name, Belichick and Edelman are being interviewed by Jimmy Fallon.

And Jimmy Fallon said, "Hey, Bill, when I look at you, you just don't look like you're

happy.

Man, are you ever happy?"

He said, "I am happy.

It's just life to me is football.

And I do football."

He said, "You guys are the greatest organization, greatest coach, all this stuff," But I'm a

football guy.

So it's always about how can we make the team better, the offense better, the defense better,

the recruiting, the talent better.

It's always how can we make plays better.

And that comes across as not being happy.

But all it is is they're not content.

They always want to do better.

#2: Next, rich people are selfish.

It's mine!

This is mine!

That's mine.

This is mine.

That is mine.

First of all, what is wrong with us wanting things that are ours?

See, back in the day in 1990 or 1989, Gorbachev from Russia asked Reagan to come and visit

him.

He said, "What can I do to make our economy be like America?"

So he goes there and says, "Listen.

Reagan looks at everybody and said, "Everybody drives the same car.

Everybody has the same house.

Everybody eats the same food.

Everybody wears the same color underwear, same clothes.

What's this all about?

You've got to give these guys an opportunity.

If somebody wants to work hard and drive a nicer car, let them do it.

If somebody wants to work hard and get a bigger house, let them do it."

And then they switched to capitalism, and by the way, fast forward 25, 26 years later.

Today the number one country in the world in immigration is America with 40-something

million.

You know what number two is?

Russia with 11 million.

Why?

Maybe capitalism attracted some people that want to go out there and live in Russia.

Is it the perfect country?

Of course it's not.

Nowhere near it.

But it attracts because people can finally say, "It's mine."

#3: Next, take advantage of people.

This actually does happen.

However, you can't do this for too long.

You cannot do this for too long.

In the world of capitalism, if you take advantage of other people, other people have the right

to tell other people about their experience with you.

And if it's valid, and genuine, and enough people say it, then people say, maybe there's

some truth to it.

Now, there's one thing that you have enemies.

And there's a lot of people.

Like, for instance, right now, the most hated person in the world today is Donald Trump.

Just six months ago, the most hated person in the world was President Obama.

Just eight years prior to that, the most hated person in the world was George Bush.

Just eight years.

. . it doesn't matter.

Whoever that gets the biggest limelight will typically be the most hated person.

But, taking advantage of people?

People will eventually find out there's something going on there.

You can't do that in business for too long.

You got to take care of your people.

If I don't take care of the best person that's working for me, he's leaving me.

If I don't take care of the best executive, he's leaving me.

If I don't take care of my best partners, that are trusting us with tens of millions

of dollars, they're leaving us.

I have to understand that.

And if they don't treat us well, I'm leaving.

So there's a certain relationship that's got to be both ways.

Right?

So this is a very, very honest formula, you don't do well, someone's leaving.

#4: Next, money is their god.

I used to hear this.

All they care about is money.

Money is their god.

Well, first, here's what I want to do.

Why don't we break down what this whole meaning of their god.

Is it because they spend the most time trying to get more money?

Is that what it is?

Well then if that's the case, and if that's our definition of what god means, we can certainly

say to most people, T.V. is their god.

We can say Netflix is their god.

We can say video games is their god, if somebody all they want to do is play video games.

We can say porn is someone's god.

We can say sex is someone's god.

We can say a lot of things is someone's god.

So that's a lot of things that we can say.

But I can tell you one thing for a fact.

Hey, when you do make more money, and you can do more with the money, and create more

jobs with the money, then it becomes a mathematical formula.

You're just finding ways to do more with it.

And if you're a good person, if you're watching this right now, let me ask you a question.

You think you're a good person?

I'm talking to you.

You, you, you.

I'm talking to you.

You think you're a good person?

You think you're a good person.

Do you think you're a good person?

Really?

So if you're a good person, I have a question for you.

Let's just say you work very hard, and in the next five years, 10 years, all of a sudden

you're worth $100 million.

Would you do good for the world with that $100 million?

What did you just say?

Yes?

Okay.

Now can you do better for the world with $100 million over $200,000?

Maybe you said $100 million.

Can we help you go out there and make $100 million so you can do more with that $100

million.

What's wrong with if you make more money?

Nothing wrong with that.

It's a lot better than if you just sit there and watch video games and Netflix and T.V.

and all that other stuff.

Or even your phone and newsfeed and seeing what other people's lives look like.

That's the point of money.

#5: Next, everybody who's a billionaire they made their money off real estate.

It's actually not true.

A few do, but not everybody does.

#6: Next, they don't give back.

Here's an interesting stat.

According to CNBC, the average ultra-high net worth person gives $25 million back to

charities during their lifetime.

The average high net worth, ultra-high net worth person gives $25 million back to charities.

Here's the crazy one.

The average billionaire, during their life time, gives $100 million back to charity.

So this whole thing about rich people don't give money back, believe it or not, who do

you think funds most of these charities?

Who do you think funds most of these non-profits?

You think $5 donations do?

No, it's someone that comes in and write the big check, is what they do.

#7: Next, all they do is play golf.

Some of them do.

A lot of them do.

Just recently I watched a movie, founder Ray Kroc, I think you've got to watch it.

It's insane.

Everybody's got to watch this movie, Founder.

And there's a scene there where you know, Ray Kroc is trying to close this deal with

this other guy to buy a couple of the franchises, and the guy hits the ball and he's six feet

off.

And he says, "Oh, that's pretty much, it's good, don't worry about it."

Typically it's like two feet off to say we'll count it as a shot.

It was six, seven feet off.

He said, that's fine, it's good.

Why?

All he wanted to do was just do a business deal.

Ray Kroc's not trying to be a professional golfer.

He's trying to do business.

So if a wealthy person or a rich person golfs, it's because they're trying to do business.

Some of them actually love the game.

I'm going to give that because I've golfed with certain people that absolutely love the

game.

But not everybody.

#8: Next, yachts, homes, all this other stuff.

Yeah, sure.

Some billionaires have yachts.

Some buy it very early.

And a lot of them have private jets.

Now why do they have private jets?

Let me explain to you why they have private jets.

The other day, I had a business meeting to go to.

In the airport, the airline takes six hours to find a replacement.

Then the next one takes another four hours.

I get there late to the appointment.

I couldn't do the business deal.

That could have been a good business deal, but it never happened.

This is when the person sits there and says, you know what?

It's time to buy a private jet.

It's $5 million, you're going to pay $100,000 a month, maybe $50,000 a month, but it's worth

the investment that you're going to make to get there faster and get the appointments

done.

Imagine how many more places you can get to without having to go through security, TSA,

four hours, drive, all this other stuff.

Boom, boom, you're out, you go.

And the pilot waits and you come back, quick.

So it's not necessarily about the lifestyle, it's more about the time that I can get to

a place much faster.

#9: Next, every rich person out there's a Republican.

Everybody!

If you're rich, they must be Republicans.

They're Trump voters.

You know, they love Romney.

They're Bush type of people.

You know, believe it or not, a lot of millionaires are not Republicans.

There's a lot of millionaires who, I lived in California for many years, Silicon Valley,

most of them are liberals.

They're mostly Democrats.

You go into Hollywood, there's a lot of wealthy people there, there's a lot of Democrats.

There's a lot of liberals.

You go to New York, lots of them over there, both states, they're typically going to be

left.

Trump didn't win New York.

He didn't win California.

They're liberal states.

And there's a lot of millionaires in those states.

Now how is that even possible?

Well, being a millionaire or a billionaire or rich doesn't necessarily mean you have

to become a Republican.

They economically believe in capitalism.

They don't believe in communism.

They believe in capitalism.

But socially they believe in other things, pro-choice, they may believe in certain things

that conservatives may not believe in.

But just because someone's rich doesn't make them a Republican.

#10: They're narcissistic.

All they want to do is look themselves in the mirror and just say, "I'm so pretty.

I'm so amazing.

I'm so beautiful.

They're narcissistic.

They have problems with how much they admire themselves.

One thing I noticed is typically, somebody who lacks confidence, they don't like people

with a lot of confidence, even though secretly they admire them because it's like, how can

somebody, they must be narcissistic.

Now this is not everybody.

I'm not putting a blanket over everybody.

But what I am telling you is, somebody who's extremely confident doesn't necessarily mean

they're narcissistic.

It's a strength.

They believe in themselves.

I wish everybody believed in themselves more.

If everybody believe in themselves more, they're going to do better in their lives.

Believe me.

Half the struggle is to make people believe that they can pull it off in their lives as

well.

That is half the struggle.

That's what they've got going on.

It doesn't necessarily mean they're all narcissistic.

Are there some narcissistic ones out there?

Of course.

#11: Next, shhh, they don't pay their taxes.

They don't pay their taxes.

They don't pay their taxes.

Paul, I'm going to do a basic mathematical formula here so we can actually look at it,

so you can see for yourself how this number works.

Last year America, the government collected roughly three and a half trillion dollars

in federal income taxes, okay?

Now, let's set that aside for three and a half trillion dollars.

Today in America, there's 158 million people in total workforce.

There's 158 million people that work in America.

The average salary is roughly $36,000.

$36,000, 158 million people working.

And let's say on average people pay 25% in taxes, which is $9,000.

So if we take $9,000, and multiply it times the 158, we get roughly 1.4 trillion dollars.

Okay?

That's how much the government collected last year, 1.4 trillion dollars.

If it was only collecting the money from people that make $36,000 per year.

Now watch this.

you take 1.4 trillion but we collected three and a half trillion.

Where's the other 2.1 trillion dollars?

Where did that come from?

That's because the high income earners who make millions of dollars pay a lot of taxes.

They pay a LOT of taxes.

Yes, there are some ways where they figure out ways to pay less taxes because somebody

in the government they voted for changed certain laws that they pay less taxes.

That's simply why it is.

They can change it if they wanted to, but those loopholes are in, because somebody funded

someone's campaign 10, 20, 30, 40 years ago.

This is what happens, right?

But regardless, they still pay their taxes.

But Pat, you don't understand, Trump didn't pay his taxes.

Let's just say Trump doesn't pay taxes.

Of course Trump pays his taxes.

But let's just say that Trump doesn't pay his taxes.

Let's just say he doesn't.

That's not everybody, if he didn't.

And I'm not even saying that he didn't pay his taxes.

The point is, everyone's paying their taxes.

How much, they're even paying more than a lot of people are paying.

#12: And last but not least is they party.

All they do is they want to party, they're these extroverts, they're very good with people

and they just want to go out there and they got these big personalities, all this other

stuff.

Could it be some?

Sure.

A lot of the people that I meet who are very well off, a lot of the people that I meet

who are very well off, believe it or not, they actually kind of are the nicest people

I meet.

They're such nice people.

And they want to be around their kids.

They want to be around their family.

They want to have their vacations.

There's this one man that he's also in the insurance industry.

You know, for 35 years, look at this here.

For 35 years, he has one tradition.

Every single year for two weeks, he pays for his entire family and he takes them on a cruise.

He's done this for 35 years.

Think about that.

Two weeks.

They go on a cruise.

And the kids pick where they want to go.

I said, "How many were at this last one?"

He said, "35 people were at this last one."

What do you pay for it?

He said, "Pat, I pay for everything.

Flight, room, food, everything.

They pay for nothing.

He does this every year.

He wants his family to be around.

He said, "To me, if I could do everything, in all the time I have, I want to be around

my family."

The extravagant, all that other stuff could be a Hollywood type of a lifestyle, but it's

not everybody.

So having said that, again, my pure outcome of this video is, I hear this so many times,

Pat, I don't want to be rich because rich people are greedy and all they care about

is themselves.

Or I grew up with this myself, this mindset, and all this other stuff.

I want to talk about this because many people have requested on talking about this issue.

And I got a book recommendation for you as well.

Paul, let's put a picture of it up so everybody can see.

This is a book by T. Harv Eker.

It's called Secrets of the Millionaire Mind.

I highly recommend it.

It's exceptional.

It's phenomenal, everybody ought to read it.

It will make you think about millionaires and money in a completely different way.

Paul, let's get the pillow here.

That was a good catch.

You like that catch?

It's a one-handed catch right there.

Phenomenal throw.

Paul, you got a little bit of Tom Brady in you.

Alright, so here we go.

Hey, our goal is to get to a million subs by the end of the year.

If you haven't subscribed, click on the button.

If you've already subscribed but you don't get notifications, click on the alert right

next to it so you get alerted every time a new video gets uploaded, you'll be one of

the first who gets it.

And at a quarter million subs, we're doing a new contest to do something where people

will fly in.

Last time we did it it was a big hit.

People flew in from seven different countries.

We went hours over here, questioning, all this other stuff.

It was phenomenal.

And we will do it again at a quarter million subs.

I think right now we're at what?

196,000 subs?

197,000 subs, while recording this video.

So if you haven't subscribed, do subscribe.

If you got any comments or questions about today's video, comment on the bottom.

With that being said, thanks for watching everybody.

Take care, bye bye.

Why dating apps aren't ruining Valentine's Day…probably - Duration: 2:37.

Technology has been helping people start relationships since,

well, forever.

[Well, of all the nerve!]

But with the massive increase in digital dating platforms,

sometimes it gets a little much.

An ever-growing list of apps — like, Tinder, Grindr, Hinge —

serve up an unending number of potential partners to evaluate.

Headlines are calling it the dating apocalypse.

But is the constant swiping really such a bad thing?

The evidence out there is mixed.

On the one hand, there's the concept of choice overload

— the idea that too many options might make it harder to choose,

and to be happy with the result.

Experts point to a study done in a grocery store

where shoppers were much more likely to stop and try the samples

at a table crammed with options — but they actually bought the items

more often when there were fewer to choose from.

It's like when you fall asleep watching countless trailers on Netflix

before you manage to decide on a movie.

Of course, shopping for jam or picking a movie

is a little different than looking for a life partner

— where the stakes are a lot higher.

And whether choice overload exists, and applies to online dating,

is actually kind of controversial.

In one small study of a group of undergraduate students

who were mostly white, and mostly female — so, not really representative

of the general population — the students were less satisfied

when they picked a date from 24 options than when they picked from six.

But that's an artificial situation.

And when you look at actual couples, having more choices might work out

just fine in the long run.

Various studies show that couples who met online stayed together about as often

— or slightly more often — than couples who met in person.

And actually, digital matches ended up getting married faster.

More importantly, online dating and dating apps

have actually been pretty helpful in the LGBTQ community.

As the internet gained traction in the 1990s, the percentage of gay and lesbian

couples who met their soulmates on the internet spiked,

and continued to rise.

So looking at the data, it kind of seems like even if we feel

overwhelmed at dating options, it isn't preventing us from making decisions

we wind up being happy with - just the opposite.

Still, mainstream dating platforms have a long way to go

before they're inclusive of everyone.

That's why new apps like Thurst, a dating app for queer people of all genders,

have popped onto the scene.

Regardless of how sophisticated dating platforms get,

they're still just tools — so they don't magically take the effort

out of relationships.

Sadly.

So if you're single and feeling overwhelmed,

keep swiping and hope for the best.

You will probably find someone.

...Probably.

Understanding Kalman Filters, Part 2: State Observers - Duration: 7:46.

In this video, we'll discuss state observers.

This concept will help explain what Kalman filters are and how they work.

Let's start with an example.

This is little Timmy, and you want to know about his mood and how he's feeling right now.

However, there is no direct way of measuring his mood.

So, what you do is give him a cookie and start observing his facial expressions.

This observation helps you estimate his real mood.

State observation helps you estimate something that you can't see or measure directly.

Throughout the rest of the discussion, if you see something with a hat on it, this means that it is an estimated state through a state observer.

So, if the state x is shown with a hat, then it is an estimated state.

Next, we'll look at a more solid example. You're traveling in space to discover new planets.

In order to get to the planets safely, you need to monitor the internal temperature of your jet engine.

If it gets too hot, it could damage your spacecraft.

However, there isn't any feasible way of measuring the internal temperature, since a sensor placed inside the engine would melt.

What you can do is to place the sensor on a colder surface and measure the temperature there.

Let's call this temperature Texternal and the one you can't measure, but you need to estimate, Tinternal.

This is your rocket. You're wondering how high the internal temperature of the engine is,

since this will tell you how you should regulate the fuel flow to your rocket.

However, you don't have access to the state Tinternal.

Instead, you can measure Texternal.

The signals that are available to you are the fuel flow and your measurement.

How do you estimate the internal temperature? Actually, you have access to more information.

Since your math is pretty good, you can drive the equations that will give you the mathematical model of your real system.

You already know how much fuel you're adding to your rocket, so if you now input this fuel flow to your mathematical model,

this will give you an estimate of your output.

And also, notice that since you have all the governing equations, you can even calculate the internal state of this system.

Ok, does this solve your problem now? Unfortunately, it doesn't.

No doubt that you're good at math, but in reality, the mathematical model you found is only an approximation of your real system.

It is subject to uncertainties. If you had a perfect model without any uncertainties and if your real system and your model had the same initial

conditions, then your measurement and estimated output values would match each other,

and therefore the estimated internal temperature would match the true internal temperature as well.

But in real life, this is an unlikely scenario and therefore the estimated external temperature won't match the measured temperature.

That's why you need to use a state estimator to estimate your internal states. Let's see how a state estimator works:

Here, our goal is to match the estimated external temperature with the measured external temperature.

We know that if these two are equal, then the model will converge to the real system.

So, the estimated internal temperature will converge to the true internal temperature.

What we're trying to do is to minimize the difference between the estimated and measured external temperature.

Does this sound familiar to you? Actually, we're talking about a feedback control system,

where we try to control the error between the measured and estimated external temperature at zero using a controller K.

If we now update our diagram on the left hand side based on what we've discussed here, it will look like this.

This part represents the state observer.

By closing the loop with a controller K around the observer,

we try to eliminate the error between the estimated and measured external temperature

such that the estimated internal temperature is driven to its true value.

In summary, you can't directly measure the internal engine temperature.

But you know how much fuel you're supplying to your rocket, so you can run this through your mathematical model and estimate the output,

which you can then use along with your real measurement to estimate the internal state of the system.

The question is how to choose the controller gain K such that the error between the measured and estimated external temperature is

minimized optimally. We'll provide more insights into this in the next videos where we'll discuss how Kalman filters work.

Next, let's look at how we can explain the state observer mathematically:

We will generalize the problem and show the input as u, the output as y, and any states we want to estimate as x.

Our goal is to drive xhat to x, so we can define the difference between these values as an error.

Next, let's write down the equations for the system and the observer.

If we subtract these equations from each other, this will give us the error dynamics.

By rearranging terms, we see that the error dynamics can be shown by this equation.

The solution to this equation is an exponential function.

What this means is if this term is less than zero, we're good, because we know that our error will vanish over time

and xhat will converge to x. At this point, you may be asking if we really need the KC term in this equation.

Because even without the feedback loop that adds the KC term to the equation, we would have a decaying exponential function

for the error. The significance of having a feedback loop around the observer is

that we can control the decay rate of the error function by selecting the controller gain K accordingly.

However, here the decay rate solely depends on the matrix A.

And if there are some uncertainties in the mathematical model, this means you don't know A exactly.

Therefore, you can't control how quickly the error will vanish.

Having the feedback controller gives you more control over this equation and guarantees a faster elimination of the error.

And the faster the error vanishes, the faster the estimated states xhat converge to the true states x.

An optimal way of choosing the gain K is performed through the use of Kalman filters.

In the next video, we'll get insights into how Kalman filters work.

The Korean foreign ministry on Tuesday issued a statement demanding that the Japanese government

immediately repeal a revised education directive issued Tuesday afternoon... that obligates

elementary and middle schools to teach students that Korea's Dokdo Islands are Japanese territory.

The foreign ministry's statement said repeating the false claim that Dokdo belongs to Japan

is beyond deplorable.

The ministry also said the new directive could negatively impact the two countries' future

bilateral relations,... stressing that the Korean government will never admit a foreign

country's claim to the islets,... which it said historically... and legally... are obviously

Korea's.

The Korean foreign ministry also summoned the Minister at the Japanese Embassy in Korea,

Hideo Suzuki,... to deliver the Korean government's formal protest and to urge Japan to repeal

the directive.

It is the first time that the legally-binding directive has required all elementary and

middle schools to teach in social studies class that Dokdo is Japan's.

Back in 2008 and 2014,... such claims were included in the directive's commentary...

but not the order itself.

The directive is usually revised every ten years by Japan's education and culture ministry,...

and its content will be confirmed by the end of March or early April,... after gathering

opinions.

Once confirmed,... it will apply to Japan's elementary schools from 2020... and its middle

schools from the following year.

Top 10 Recently Discovered ANIMAL SPECIES In 2016 - Duration: 8:41.

Welcome to Top10Archive!

We live in a vast world, one that seems to get bigger and bigger the more we traverse

it.

Each year, researchers and curious minds exploring the globe happen across species of animals

that we didn't know existed the year prior.

These incredible creatures were among those newly found throughout 2016.

10.

Microhyla Laterite During surveys of amphibian wildlife in the

southwestern region of India, independent researcher, Ramit Singal, and doctoral student

at the National University of Singapore's Faculty of Science, Kadaba Shamanna Seshadri,

discovered a new member of the Microhylidae family, the laterite narrow-mouthed frog.

Found in Karnataka, India, the frog grows to only .7 inches or roughly 16 millimeters

long and shares similarities to other smaller species in the region.

Unlike past discoveries of amphibians in the area, the new laterite frog was found in a

section the local government considers to be a wasteland due to quarrying, overgrazing,

and dumping.

The tiny laterite is characterized by smooth skin and a pale brown color with black markings

on its feet, hands, and dorsum.

9.

Graciliella Kosovaci and Ozimeci When you go scouring the deepest, darkest

holes of Earth, you're bound to find something new and unique.

Cave biologist at the University of Novi Sad in Serbia, Iva Njunjic, headed a study that

led to the discovery of this spindly-legged, spider-like beetle.

Unlike its above-ground brethren, this creepy crawly has no eyes, no distinct color, and

no wings, characteristics that are compensated for with its long legs and antennae.

Originally attributed to the Anthroherpon genus, the new species was actually found

to differ slightly and, therefore, was placed in a new genus, Graciliella.

There are currently at least four species of the new genus, with kosovaci and Ozimeci

being the latest discoveries to be added to it.

8.

Scolopendra Cataracta As if centipedes weren't creepy enough,

the newly discovered Scolopendridae gives us pause before taking a dip in Southeast

Asian waters.

Back in 2001, George Beccaloni of the Natural History Museum in London, discovered an unusual

centipede that hid underwater rather than in the thick of the forest when spooked.

The species was similar to one discovered in 1928 in Vietnam, which was categorized

as a common centipede and held in the National History Museum.

In 2016, the truth behind this curious creature was finally revealed, leading to the discovery

of the very first amphibious centipede.

Until the discovery, centipedes were known for living in dryer habitats, and though it

may differ in its ability to swim, the newly found cataracta packs the same nasty bite

as other centipedes.

7.

Bothriechis Nubestris Joining the ranks of the many venomous serpents

found throughout the world is the newly discovered Talamancan palm-pitviper.

Found in the dense forests of Costa Rica, this unknown species was once believed to

be a relative of the black-speckled palm-pitviper.

It wasn't until Christopher Parkinson, a University of Central Florida biologist, performed

genetic testing was it determined that they were looking at two different species of viper.

The slithery discovery gets its name from the region it's indigenous to, the Cordillera

de Talamanca mountain range that sits between Costa Rica and Panama.

The palm-pitviper is known to have a neurotoxic venom, though whether or not the Talamancan

species share the same nigroviriditoxin as the black-speckled pitviper remains unknown.

6.

Cryptomaster Behemoth Depending on where you grew up, you may have

memories of spotting a lanky daddy longleg meandering peacefully along your walls, causing

you no distress.

Had it been the newly discovered Cryptomaster behemoth, chances are your reaction would

have been a bit different.

A member of the daddy longlegs order, this behemoth is not the long-legged pill we've

grown to live alongside amicably.

At .15 inches or roughly 4 millimeters wide, it may not be as large as many spiders we

come across, but its bulbous body does dwarf other daddy longlegs and harvestmen in the

laniatores suborder of the opiliones order.

The behemoth was discovered by an expedition led by San Diego State University entomologist,

James Starrett, in the woods of Southwest Oregon.

5.

Myrmecina Magnificens Nestled in the rain forests of Singapore lives

a species of ant unique to the Malay Peninsula.

While digging through a sampling of leaves, ecologist Mark Wong came across the spiny

little ant, which bears visually exceptional, wrinkled skin that has a striking resemblance

to a fingerprint.

M. magnificens measured about .18 inches or roughly 4.5 millimeters long and is one of

the first of its genus to be decorated in front-facing spines.

Why the tiny ant is covered in grooved skin hasn't been determined, though Wong speculates

it may capture pheromones or keep the ant from drying out.

At the time of the discovery, Wong had only collected 5 specimens, making it difficult

to determine its lifestyle with others of its kind.

4.

Pheidole Drogon Using 3D-imaging and micro-CT technology,

Evan Economo, head of the Biodiversity and Biocomplexity Unit at the Okinawa Institute

of Science and Technology Graduate University, and fellow researchers, Eli Sarnat and George

Fischer, discovered a new species of ant that they liken to the dragon Drogon in Game of

Thrones.

The spiny little creature is found in the rainforests of Papua New Guinea and comes

equipped with its own defense mechanisms.

The spines covering its body offer a level of protection while muscle fibers found within

indicate that the drogon may be stronger than its non-spiny counterparts.

3.

Barreleye Fish Mother Nature is a weird, weird thing.

Case in point, the barreleye fish, which was discovered back in 1939.

In mid-2016, however, the family was introduced to two new members.

Though sharing similar qualities, the two new species were distinguished from one another

thanks to pigment patterns found on the sole of the fish.

A part of the Opisthoproctidae family, barreleye fish are commonly known for their bioluminescent

qualities which emanate from an internal organ and controlled by the sole.

Large, thin scales cover the specimen's sole and increase in pigmentation.

The gradual change serves as a sort of reflector that regulates the emission of light.

2.

Kankuamo Marquezi Slinking around the mountains of Sierra Nevada

de Santa Marta in Colombia is the Kankuamo marquezi, a newly discovered tarantula named

after Colombian Nobel Prize-winning author, Gabriel Garcia Marquez.

A team of researchers, led by University of the Republic entomologist, Carlos Perafan,

determined they had stumbled upon a new genus and species when they noticed that the tarantula's

urticating hair differed from others of its kind.

Where most tarantulas are known to eject their hairs at attackers, the marquezi was found

to employ the mechanism through direct contact.

1.

Gasteruption Wasps Let us quickly welcome four new members to

the Gasteruption genus and then quietly back away, never to see them again.

Bicoloratum, huangshii, pannuceum, and shengi are new species of parasitoid wasps discovered

by entomologist Jiang-Li Tan, who distinguished each new species by looking at the shape of

the head and legs, skin pattern, color, and ovipositor length.

Bicoloratum was discovered with typically shorter ovipositors while huangshii was found

to have an ovipositor 1.2 times the length of the wasp's body.

Shengi was found to be the largest of the four new species while pannuceum was noted

for the wrinkled sheath that covered its mid-body.

Like all parasitoid wasps, the new species are believed to bear parasitic larvae that

control, and eventually kill, their host.

Shooting in Tiny Spaces: Exploring Photography with Mark Wallace - Duration: 8:48.

Hi you're watching AdoramaTV,

in this episode we're going to work

in a tiny space.

Hi everybody welcome to another episode

of Exploring Photography right here on

AdoramaTV I'm Mark Wallace and I'm

joined by Fanny Belladonna she was one

of the most spectacular models in all

of Paris, really in all of the world and

so we're going to be shooting in a tiny,

tiny space. This is a hotel room here we

have just a little nook, I'm converting

it into a studio so Fanny any of you go

right back here by the window, I'm going

to show you, sort of,

what we're working with

and how we're converting this into a

working studio. So let's get started.

I'm going to show you around using my new

Karma Grip here and a wide angle lens on

my GoPro HERO5 so Fanny is back

here against this window and what we've

done is we've just have pulled the blinds

shut to give us a background and I'm

using a Profoto Softbox on a B2

head and this is really awesome because

the B2 is so small you can take it just

about anywhere. It's very, very portable so I've got

that, and then we're shooting into

Lightroom and so that allows us to see

exactly what we're doing as we go,

and of course I'm using my

Leica M Type 240,

and that's about it. Now that you've

seen how small this space is let me show

you what I'm doing with the light, to try

to make it look a little bit larger.

So back here,

Fanny's against this, this curtain and

I've put the Softbox to the side going

to get nice sidelight to give us some

contrast and because I can't really move

the light very much,

Fanny is actually going to move to the

light. She is a professional model

and knows how to pose and so she's going to

be working around and playing in this

light and I'll be shooting right here

I'm not doing that right now

because I'd block your view,

and what we'll also do is we're going to

shoot really tight, so we get some nice

tight head-shots, and then we're going to

shoot some, some vertical shots to see if

we can get a little bit of shape, we'll

shoot some black and white, we'll shoot

some color and then maybe we'll take the

Softbox off and shoot with hard light as

well and so that gives us a lot of

options in a small space; hard light, soft

light, really tight horizontal shots,

a little bit larger vertical shots,

color and black and white

all in this tiny space.

So that's a lot of stuff that we need to do,

so we're going to start shooting

right now!

Let me show you one of the things

we're doing here because they're just

really aren't a lot of options for this

tiny space, but we can do is control the

contrast of the light and so what we've

done is, we've played a little bit with the

light. I've added a grid to control that

light and what I've noticed is when I move

this back a little way, so closer to this

curtain, I can get some contrast on the

ripples of the curtain and by changing

how Fanny is looking at the light

we can either get a more contrasting

portrait or something that is really sort of

nice and soft, so not only have I been

playing with the direction of light

I've been playing with the intensity of

light, so we were shooting at f8 but then I

took that light power way down and then

I started shooting some stuff around

about f1.8 so we get really nice shallow

depth of field, so her hair is going to

start to fall out of focus, but her eyes

are going to be nice and sharp, just to

get a lot of options. We don't have a lot of

options in this consideration of the

space, but again we have a lot of options

in hard light, soft light, depth of field

and framing so that's what we're

concentrating on.

Alright, well we've done our photo shoot

what I'm going to do now is we're going to

throw all that stuff into Lightroom.

We're going to choose one or two winners.

I'll do some editing and I'll show you the

results right now.

Let's take a quick

look at the results of our tiny space

photo shoot, we were able to do the things

that we wanted to do, in other words we

shot horizontals and verticals,

tight shots, black and white photos,

all of those things that we said were important.

It was sort of difficult when I look through

all of these images to choose just a few

to retouch but I was able to do it, so

let's take a look really quickly at a

few images and we're not going to go

through all of the steps I used to

retouch them, but I'm going to tell you about

some of the secrets that I used when I

was re- touching them.

We're going to start by looking at these

two images. These were shot with no

Softbox, unfortunately in the video I

don't show myself shooting these but it is the

exact same setup, except no Softbox.

I wanted a really high contrast, grungy

look and I got it. Now the thing with

these images, if I go to the develop

module, was that her shirt was the same

luminosity as her face and so there was

no central focal point to these images

and so you can see here when I go to my

adjustment brush in the develop module,

I can hover over this so you can see that

I have painted over her shirt and that

adjustment that I used was to take the

exposure down by a little bit more than

half a stop, now if I turn that off you can

see that the shirt is about the same

luminosity as her face that means it's

competing with her face, I don't want

that, so the adjustment brush allows me

to fix that issue, so I did that with

both of these images. I think the results

turned out pretty well.

Alright, let's talk about another choice

that I made and that was to, look, take

these and make them look like they were

shot with Tri-x black and white film,

so that is something from days past.

The key to that was a

high contrast, black and white

image but the other thing that

I needed to do was

add some grain to these images.

The grain is what people love about

Tri-x film because it makes everything just

look sort of dreamy, now to do that in

Lightroom it's really simple you just

hop over to the develop module and then

go down to the effects panel in the very

bottom and then you just need to take

the grain and then turn it up so I used

a setting of about 51 for the grain

the size is 38, the reference about 50.

Now if I wanted this to look like a high ASA

grain then I would use a larger size,

a larger roughness, a lower ASA grain

I would use a smaller size and a smaller

roughness. If you don't know what that is, it

doesn't really matter just move those

sliders around until you get something

that looks pretty cool. I love this look

So it feels sort of that throwback look.

The other thing I did to these color

images is make some different choices

for images that were almost identical, so

this image here because of the way the

light is falling and the way she's

posing, I didn't do a lot of retouching

but you can see she has sort of a dark

circle under her eye,

I thought it was fine in this image,

however in another image

this one right here,

same exact lighting, set up the

same exact adjustments in Lightroom you

can see that we really, this really draws

some attention to her face and it

doesn't look very flattering

so on this image I decided to throw that

into Photoshop and then use the healing

brush to remove that dark circle, so on

one image I thought the dark circle was

fine another image I decided to remove

it because it was just too noticeable.

Speaking of retouching and doing sort of

something over the top, I decided to do

that as well so notice this background

color if I go to this next image,

it's a totally different color even though we

shot in the same place and you can see

that I did a lot of retouching on her

face, I did that using a technique called

Frequency Separation Retouching in

Photoshop, it's an advanced technique

that would take us a long time to

explain but I just wanted to point out

that in a small space like this if you

shoot some good foundation images you

have a lot to work with and you can do a

lot of different things and get a lot of

different looks. So if you look at all

these images that we shot we got some

cool stuff in one space in a very short

amount of time.

HOW MUCH WEIGHT SHOULD YOU LIFT? | Just The Tip 007 - Duration: 2:05.

One of the ladies in my hot bod group asked "how

much weight to start with on a program?"

Knowing how much weight to start with

when you're starting a new training

program is not the easiest thing to

know because if you haven't done the

movement in a long time or if you

haven't done the movement ever, you can't

really know how much you can lift as soon

as you go to the gym. So I always tell

people to use the first few training

sessions as a way to break yourself in

and figure out what weights you need to be using

for the next 12-13 weeks,

however long you're on that program. So

if you've done the bench press before

but you haven't done it in a long time,

you know you probably aren't going to be

as strong as you were previously. So

go into the gym and start with a weight

that you know you can do but it's

probably going to be too easy. Start

there. Do 10-12 reps to see how it feels.

Add 10-15 pounds. Do 8 or 10 more reps.

Whatever feels good, and build up to a

weight that you can use as your

working set. And then make a note in your

log or your journal however you're

tracking, so when you go in to do the

session the next week or later in the

week you'll know exactly what the start

with and then you won't have to wonder

how much weight you need to use when you

go in for your first session.

The reason I mention this is because a

lot of times we want to know exactly how

much weight to use the first day we step

into the gym and if you're a seasoned

trainee, you understand training and you've

done this for a long time you have a

good idea of how much you can use or how

strong you were in the past, but if

you're kind of new to this or you

haven't trained in a long time, you're

not really going to know and no

calculator online is going to be able to

tell you exactly how much you can use

based on some percentage of your

supposed one-rep max. Thank you so much

for watching. Creating videos like this

is a lot of fun but it also takes a lot

of time so I would appreciate if you

would share with your friends and hit

that like button, subscribe and I will

see you on the next episode of

Just The Tip.

Bleaching t-shirts with Lenart Slabe - Duration: 1:46.

I'm Lenart Slabe

and I'm a designer and illustrator from Slovenia.

Living in Amsterdam for two years now.

When I was a kid I had a lot of band shirts

from either Motorhead or Iron Maiden

and I really wanted to make my own.

Printing you either have to invest a lot into a quality shirt

or you print one and the quality is usually

questionable.

Bleaching shirts gave me the chance to do my own shirts.

I started with simple grids

so I would just use tape

make these eighties grids.

With bleach you can get cool textures.

Which makes the grids even spacier.

And that goes well with that retro futuristic look I was going for

and then I also played around with different simple shapes.

The more shirts I made the more I realized that,

people like it simple.

The simpler you make it the more people will like it.

So my designs sort of became simpler and simpler.

I like all this occult imagery like pentagrams

and I like, you know, the Eye of Providence.

The all-seeing eye.

That people associate with the Illuminati and all that stuff

When I make shirts that I try to make

something that metalheads will like.

That's my [he he he ]

that's what I go for.

Work, Family, Friends... How Should One Prioritize These? - Duration: 1:02.

Hi!

We recently received the following question:

We think we don't need to choose one over the other.

What we should focus on is:

Having a purpose means being part of something

bigger than ourselves.

And strengthening that purpose

has an impact on everything in our lives.

Your work becomes more meaningful

and you have much more motivation and inspiration.

You engage in more fruitful conversations,

which leads to better connections.

And people feel your positive energy and optimism

and they want to connect with you.

So the best way to improve everything in your life

from work

to family

is to have

and strengthen your purpose in life.

U.S. National Security Adviser Michael Flynn resigns - Duration: 1:45.

Over in the United States.

National Security Adviser Michael Flynn submitted his resignation... amid growing scrutiny over

the nature of his ties to Russia.

The Donald Trump administration named retired Lieutenant General Keith Kellogg the acting

national security adviser.

Lee Unshin give us the updates.

President Donald Trump's National Security Adviser, Michael Flynn, submitted his letter

of resignation late Monday night.

Flynn's action came in the wake of reports that he may have had misled top White House

officials,... including Vice President Mike Pence,... about his phone conversations with

the Russian ambassador to the United States in late December.

The Washington Post and the New York Times have both reported that Flynn talked to the

ambassador about U.S. sanctions against Russia... imposed under the Obama administration...

and before Donald Trump was inaugurated.

The Post is also reporting that the Justice Department had warned the White House late

last month that Flynn's activities could make him vulnerable to blackmail by the Russians.

Flynn had previously denied that he'd had any substantive conversations with the ambassador,

Sergei Kislyak,... and as late as January Vice President Pence had backed his claim,

saying the sanctions were not part of the talks between the two.

In his resignation letter, Flynn said that he briefed the vice president with "incomplete

information" regarding the calls... "due to the fast pace of events."

He also said he has apologized to both Trump and Pence and they have accepted his apology.

Flynn's departure comes after just 24 days on the job, making his tenure as a senior

presidential adviser one of the shortest in modern history.
