The Kawasaki Ninja H2 is a "supercharged supersport" class motorcycle in the Ninja sportbike series, manufactured by Kawasaki Heavy Industries, featuring a variable-speed centrifugal-type supercharger.[9][10][11][12]The H2R with 310 horsepower (230 kW) and 326 horsepower (243 kW) with ram air,[1] is the most powerful production motorcycle on the market. The H2R track-only variant has 50% more power than the fastest street-legal motorcycles, and would exceed the production motorcycle top speed of nearly 200 miles per hour (320 km/h) held by the Suzuki Hayabusa or Ninja ZX-12R,[13] but the comparable street-legal H2 has a much lower power output of 200 hp (150 kW)[14]210 hp (160 kW)with ram air.[1] Its namesake is the 750 cc Kawasaki H2 Mach IV,[15][16] an inline triple that was introduced by Kawasaki in 1972 to "disrupt what it saw as a sleeping motorcycle market". H2R top speed attempts[edit] 2015[edit] In June 2015, TT race competitor James Hillier rode a Kawasaki H2R as an inter-race demonstration lap at on regular Superbike slick race tires around the 37-mile road course, leading to a roads TT record of the highest top speed attained in the Isle of Man by a motorcycle.[18] The top speed of "over 206 mph" (332 km/h) on the Sulby Straight was recorded on Hillier's personal Strava GPS smartphone app for cyclists.[19] 2016[edit] On June 30, 2016, Kenan Sofuoglu, the most successful five-time world champion Supersport circuit-racer, made a top speed attempt.[20][21] Sofuoglu, sponsored by Kawasaki , was supplied with a stock H2R, other than special-formula rubber tires developed by Pirelli for the top speed attempt to withstand extreme high speeds, and the bike was supplied with race-grade fuel.[22] Sofuoglu was supplied with a special one-piece leather suit by Rev'It! to enhance aerodynamics for his record attempt .[22] This attempt endorsed by the Turkish president, was made across the newly completed Osman Gazi Bridge, the fourth longest in the world at just over a mile and a half.[23] Kawasaki quoted the H2R maximum speed to be 380 kilometres per hour (240 mph).[24] After training and preparing for four months, Sofuoglu went 400 kilometres per hour (250 mph) in just 26 seconds with a video recording the bike's dashboard display.[7][25][26][27] The attempt was not confirmed with any chronometers or GPS or radar, just recorded by the bike's on-board computer,[6] and later with a theoretical calculation,[28] of the distance he traveled in 26 seconds on the 8,799 feet long bridge. For 2017 Kawasaki has released a limited-edition model with 120 units produced globally. The Kawasaki Ninja H2 Carbon with special paint and carbon-fiber upper cowl and individually numbered. For 2017 the base model Kawasaki Ninja H2 is also updated.

Building the cheapest possible Prusa i3 MK2 clone: [01] Electronics and Extruder! - Duration: 10:44.

In this build-along series we'll take the Genuine Prusa i3 MK2 and clone it.

Follow along as we take a bunch of ridiculously cheap parts and try to make them work together.

The Prusa i3 MK2 is arguably a really decent printer.

But of course, when have to pay over 50 people's salaries for providing support and for developing

the software and hardware, you can't really sell the printer kits at the cost of just

the components themselves.

But thankfully, the entire design of the MK2 is open-source and still compatible with all

the other versions of the i3 design family.

So what I'm going to do is to create a low-cost MK2 clone, sourcing all the parts myself and

giving you a guide to use as reference if you want to build your own.

And actually, we're going to go one step further and make this the cheapest possible

Prusa i3 MK2 ever built by entirely relying on import components and making a few changes

to the electronics and hardware that shouldn't affect print quality, but will save of ton

of cash.

I think Prusa is going to hate me for this.

Now, the most interesting part is going to be how well the finished machine will perform.

I have two of the Original MK2s here, I love them to bits, and I'll be able to benchmark

the clone we create here against the real deal.

Feature-wise I'm leaving out as little as possible: We're still going with an all-metal

E3D v6 hotend, but obviously a fake version, we're getting autoleveling with an inductive

sensor, but we'll have to leave out the cool auto-squaring feature since you can't

really buy the MK2's PCB heated beds with the calibration spots yet, but we're still

going with a decently sized regular heated bed.

Mechanically, the printer will be practically identical to the real deal, the changes I'm

making to cut cost is throwing out the fancy four-start trapezoid spindle for the Z-axis

and going with an M5 threaded rod instead.

This shouldn't be much of a downgrade.

We're still doing chromed and hardened rods with LM8UU bearings and NEMA17 motors with

the regular 2GT belt.

For the frame, I'm not quite sure yet if I'm going to go with MDF, plywood or aluminum,

but we will be making the frame ourselves, too, since that is often the most expensive

part in a low-cost printer unless you're going with acrylic, which rarely is a great

option.

So that's the basic concept, now what parts exactly are we going to need?

I'll have a full list of components and links listed on my website at toms3d.org/dolly,

but let's go through what we need and where I bought it.

Most of it is going to be Aliexpress, and I'm not listing fasteners here, those are

just going to be part of that full component list.

You're usually best off buying those locally anyways.

So today we'll start with the core 3D-printery bits and electronics, we need a hotend, an

extruder and a mainboard.

For a hotend, obviously, it's going to be that fake E3D v6, you can get these with or

without the fan and fan shroud, and while we are not going to use the shroud, we do

need the fan, so we're going with the full kit, which usually sells for less than five

bucks with the heater cartridge, thermistor and a 0.4mm nozzle.

You also need a bit of PTFE tube to guide the filament into the hotend, you might be

able to just ask the seller to throw in about 10cm for free, or just buy a 1m long bit of

2x4mm PTFE tube, which will cost you a whopping 80ct.

There are two different versions of the v6 here, one of them has been modified with a

Teflon liner in the heatbreak.

The original v6 doens't need the liner since the surface inside the heatbreak has a much

better finish and won't stick to your filament, and the genuine heatbreaks are also machined

thinner, which harder to do, but is essential to keeping heat from creeping up to the heatsink,

where, again, it will cause the filament to stick.

On good hotends, I've had more issues with these teflon liners than with the heatbreak

itself, but the machining finish on these knockoff hotends is often too poor to work

reliably, so if you can live with a maximum reasonable temperature of about 250°C, your

best bet is going to be a Teflon-lined version, which you can usually identify by the listing

being described as an "improved" type.

I personally went with the true all-metal version because I wanted to see how well it

works and, of course, have backup components in case it doesn't.

For the extruder, we are going to need two specialty parts.

The drive gear and some springs.

For the drive gear, an MK8-style gear just about fits and costs around 80ct.

Most of the springs listed are a bit weak for my linking, but will work, I found a 10

pack of these 1.2mm wire diameter ones for a dollar and 20ct, and they are plenty stiff.

For electronics, I've looked around, but there doesn't seem to be any cheaper option

than the ancient RAMPS 1.4 + Arduino Mega combo.

This is by no means a good electronics set, but hey, that's not exactly what we're

going for here.

It's still going work well enough and if it doesn't, we can make it work.

The RAMPS board itself sells for under $4, but you also need an Arduino Mega clone, typically

the Mega 2560 for around $8.

Also, four stepper drivers, we're going with the standard A4988 boards here, and while

many of the cheaper boards have a lower current limit than the real deal from Pololu, that's

not going to matter that much, if at all, and at 80ct per pop, you're not wasting

much if you want to replace them down the road.

Though maybe get an extra one in case you fry one during setup.

I also grabbed a wiring set, which comes with pre-crimped wires for endstops, motors and

thermistors.

And it's really worth those $3 when you don't have to start messing with crimping

or soldering wires.

For the printbed, I'm using an aluminum heated one, since the cheap versions of the

common PCB heaters like to flex quite a bit when they heat and cool, which will randomly

shift your printed part up and down during a print, and, as you can imagine, that is

not the best thing to have happen.

This one for $6 didn't include a thermistor, but you can get a pre-wired one for 50ct.

These aluminum beds aren't always titled explicitly as an aluminum bed, but the effort

of digging through a few offers is definitely worth it.

Now, the smaller electrical parts for the builds are a 50 by 15mm radial fan for part

cooling, I picked this "low noisy" type, an inductive sensor to use as a Z-axis probe,

and you can get a type very similar to the one that Prusa uses now, running directly

from 5V and making any sort of voltage adjustment circuitry unnecessary.

You'll also need endstops, the easiest option is definitely going with these complete sets

with the switch, a connector and some smoothing circuitry on a PCB at about 70ct for a pair,

which also includes a cable.

And the last big part for electronics is the power supply, the Original Prusa uses a 12V,

20A type, and while pretty much all these parts could handle 24V and would probably

run better with those 24V, 12V supplies are still cheaper and more easily available.

For getting one, I'd actually recommend checking resellers in your country first,

they might actually be cheaper than ordering directly from far-east sellers since these

power supplies are comparatively bulky and heavy and sellers sending them directly to

you from China or HongKong will have to pay quite a bit for shipping.

Finding the exact supply used the Original MK2 is going to be hard as it looks most sellers

have switched to a different, smaller model, which looks like it got rid of the mounting

threads in the side, but it should work nonetheless and at about $15, it's practically the same

price as the old one.

If you want to be fancy, you can add a fused IEC socket and a switch to the power supply

shroud, but since those are quite expensive at $2 and will need some soldered or crimped

connectors, I'll leave that choice up to you.

You can definitely run a power cord directly into the supply as well, the supplies are

fused and protected on their own, anyways.

And that should have the electronic parts pretty much covered for now.

Of course, you're free to add an LCD controller to the setup, we will actually configure the

firmware to work with or without the LCD.

You can go with either the larger pixel-based displays for around $10 or the faster, but

smaller character-based ones for a bit under $8.

I'll be making a firmware configuration for either one, just make sure you get one

that does include the adapter for the RAMPS.

You might also be able to find package deals with the Arduino clone, a RAMPS, drivers,

endstops, wires and the LCD, but they're not always cheaper than buying everything

individually and hunting for the best price for each component.

So let's check out what we have: We've got all the specialty parts for the printhead,

so the extruder, hotend, fans and bed sensor, we've got a mainboard, stepper drivers,

the Arduino, endstops and wires.

And we've also got a heated bed and a beefy power supply to go along with that.

Total cost so far: $53.06, including shipping, but you might need to factor in import fees

and taxes, but these smaller parts are usually free.

Again, all these parts are listed at toms3d.org/dolly including links and all.

Next week we're going to start looking at mechanics, but I did want to get the bulk

of these smaller components covered now since these parts will take a bit to arrive at your

doorstep.

For me here in Germany, it's anywhere between 2 and 8 weeks from ordering to delivery, and

depending on where in the world you live, it might be a bit more or less.

You can also order the exact same parts from local resellers, for example on ebay, to get

your stuff faster, but you should anticipate paying about two times more.

Or, of course, you could get some locally available quality parts, but that's not

exactly the point of this build.

Waiting on parts from China does give us a bit of time to work on the frame and mechanics,

though.

I think I'm actually going to go with a wooden frame, since that should be the cheapest

option, but let me know if you've got other ideas.

5 ways to search Google that 90% people don't know about. - Duration: 3:20.

Hi Guys

Today's Video is about 5 Google tricks 90% of people don't know about.

If you know how to use the internet, especially "Googling,"

I can tell even without knowing you that you are the kind

of person that clicks on several search threads before

land on whatever it is that you actually want.

Well, it doesn't happen with you only

This is quite common with most of the People.

Shifting through a magnitude of all that info on the internet is quite daunting.

And when you are looking for something specific,

it gets even harder and harder. There's just too much to comb through.

This is why today, I thought I should give you some tips and tricks to help you search better

and find all the stuff you seek for in just a few clicks and have time to spare.

So, here we go!

1. Searching within websites

Perhaps there could be an interesting article that you seem not to be forgeted

and it just continuously lurks in your mind.

but you don't want to waste your time combing through all articles on the site.

In such a case, just type the address of the site and a phrase or keyword that is in the article that you seek.

Like I want to search for an forbes article.

I will just write its address that is forbesindia.com and keywords of my article like "SLOW DOWN" .

This did the trick. I find my article, Simply!

2. Searching for URL

In-order to get words from a given url, type "inurl:" before the search term,

without any spaces between them.

Like I will search "inurl:iampsinghal" and here it is! Don't forget to follow me on twitter.

3. Eliminating unimportant search words

In order to remove unimportant words from your query, simply write a

minus symbol before each one. A good example for this is,

I want to find a site with lots of interesting books, but I am not going to buy them.

So I'll write "Interesting books –buy"

And it did the work. I found the website.

4. Finding similar websites

In case there is something you really like online and want to get similar websites,

you can just type "related:" followed by the address of the site without giving a space between them.

For example lets find a website related to amazon.in. just write related:amazon.in and there you go!

5. Using whole phrases

Putting the search term within quotation marks is the easiest and most efficient way to

find something specific in order what you typed it in.

if I type "you know i want your love" within quotation marks,

the results I got here is the song Shape of you! This is a really nice song.

I got here those words appearing only in the order in which I have type them.

This can really come in handy when you are searching for song lyrics and you know only one line from the song. Like I did!

I bet with these tips, Now you can search the hell out of Google in minimal time.

A friendly note to Chelsea Clinton: When referring to something as �horrifying,� �sick�

or �awful,� it helps if you have a father who isn�t an accused rapist.

The former first daughter found that out the hard way on Twitter when she tried to register

her disgust at the possible deportation of an illegal immigrant and ended up drawing

the unwanted attention of Juanita Broaddrick, the woman who has long maintained Chelsea�s

father raped her when he was attorney general of Arkansas.

Chelsea was responding to a story in the El Paso Times detailing the Immigration and Customs

Enforcement detention of an illegal immigrant who had been detained after seeking a protective

order in a domestic abuse case.

In her tweet, Clnton tried unsubtly to refer to the Trump administration.

Here was Chelsea�s tweet from last Wednesday:

Unmentioned in Chelsea�s remark was that the transgender �woman� in question, who

had already been deported seven times before this, had a history of committing domestic

violence, among a panoply of other offenses � illegal re-entry, larceny, assault, false

imprisonment (no less than three times) and probation violations were among the laundry

list of crimes listed by KVIA-TV.

While one can certainly question whether detaining an individual who was seeking a protective

order � even a felon � creates perverse incentives, there�s no question that the

�sick,� �awful� and �horrifying� things this individual had done meant �she�

certainly should not have been in this country.

Also sick, awful and horrifying?

Whoops.

Broaddrick, for those of you who don�t remember, is a former nursing home administrator who

publicly accused then-President Bill Clinton in 1998 of raping her back in 1978, when he

was actually in charge of criminal prosecutions in the Razorback state.

The Clinton machine has long ignored Broaddrick and her allegations, even though she�s maintained

her story for almost 20 years.

It�s worth pointing out that as a brave social media defender of sexual and/or domestic

violence (provided, of course, there�s some sort of tenuous link to the man who beat her

mother at the ballot box in November), Chelsea Clinton seems strangely silent when it comes

to getting justice for Juanita Broaddrick.

Or Kathleen Willey.

Or Paula Jones.

Or any of the women who have not only said but continued to maintain that they were the

victims of sexual abuse at the hands of her father.

If Clinton fille is willing to address this multitude of accusations, I�m perfectly

willing to consider her opinions on any sick, horrifying or awful thing she wishes to discourse

on.

Sans that, I would advise that she may just want to sit the next few years out.

When Scientists Get Political - Duration: 3:26.

Martin Luther King preached the "politics of the possible."

That basically, if you want change, you need to be proposing a change that's politically

possible.

But here's the problem.

We're coming up to the March for Science and the People's Climate March, and I ve

been thinking about what the list of demands are.

And so often I see scientists making demands for things that just aren't possible!

For example - one of the things people are advocating for at the People's Climate March

is that "every job pays a wage of at least $15 an hour".

But to me that just seems like a good message at the wrong time.

It's an impossible demand, and I feel like we haven't bothered to understand the political

climate before we ask for it.

Don't get me wrong, extraordinary change is possible.

But you have to make extraordinary change happen, you have to do it in a way that benefits

everyone, or almost everyone.

Here's an example - Mexico is one of the most biologically diverse countries in the

world, it's rainforests are super important.

But in the 1980s and 1990s the rainforests were basically being stripmined for their

precious wood and then burned for agricultural land.

It was really bad.

And a lot of people who tried to stand up to the Government got into various levels

of trouble.

But in the middle of all this deforestation, there was one guy, a Mexican scientist named

Jose Sarukhan - who convinced the Government to set up and fund entire Government agency

dedicated to applying environemtal science and protecting Mexicos biodiversity, called

CONABIO.

So why did Sarukhan succeed when others have failed?

Well he took the time to understand what the President actually needed.

He knew the people of Mexico were upset about deforestation, and he knew the President Knew,

and so he proposed a viable solution - a government department - that would make everyone happy.

He didn't propose a radical change, he didn't organizan marches in the street, he gave the

president something that was politically possible.

And CONABIO has been there safeguarding Mexico's biodiversity for more than 20 years.

And this year Sarukhan has been chosen to win the Tyler Prize for Environmental Achievement,

considered the nobel Prize for the environment.

I think the message here is that scientists need to get serious about making change in

ways that build bridges.

But we first need to understand the political climate before we begin making extraordinary

demands.

Extraordinary demands can often just polarize people, make people dig in their heals.

Maybe there's some common ground that we could be pitching for, something the Trump

administration will agree to.

Maybe advising him on how to gear the world for renewable energy – a game he can win

at?

We need change.

But let's practice the politics of the possible.

And maybe we'll get there.

Vice President Pence visits vandalized Jewish cemetery in St. Louis, decries anti-Semitism - Duration: 2:24.

Vice President Mike Pence visited a Jewish cemetery on Wednesday where vandals recently toppled hundreds of tombstones, decrying anti-Semitism during the stop.

Pence swung by Chesed Shel Emeth Society, a historic Jewish cemetery in St. Louis, Mo., that suffered extensive vandalism over the weekend amidst a rash of anti-Semitic threats since President Trump's November election victory.

"There is no place in America for hatred or acts of prejudice or violence or anti-Semitism," Pence declared at the graveyard, standing alongside Missouri's first Republican Jewish Gov. Eric Greitens.

The unannounced visit came after he mentioned the cemetery in an earlier speech, and just one day after Trump himself decried anti-Semitism after avoiding a direct answer on the topic in recent weeks.

Trump took a similar tone on Tuesday, a reversal from defensive comments he'd made earlier.

"Anti-Semitism is horrible and it's going to stop and it has to stop," Trump said during a visit to the Smithsonian Museum of African American History and Culture on Tuesday, calling it "horrible and are painful and a very sad reminder of the work that still must be done to root out hate and prejudice and evil."

"On Monday morning America awoke to discover that nearly 200 tombstones were toppled in a nearby Jewish graveyard," Pence said. "We condemn this vile act of vandalism and those that perpetrate it in the strongest possible terms."

Vandals damaged over 150 headstones at Chesed Shel Emeth Cemetery in St. Louis over the weekend.

The weekend cemetery destruction came amid a rash of recent bomb threats against Jewish Community Centers. More than 50 centers have been targeted in recent months.

Pence's visit is the latest Trump administration outreach to the Jewish community after a rocky stretch.

Why Rangers should not pull the trigger on deal for Blues' Kevin Shattenkirk - Duration: 2:58.

This is the conundrum Rangers general manager Jeff Gorton faces with one week left until the NHL trade deadline:

Do you put valuable assets on the table in order to make a big splash, as the Rangers have done in recent years, and go all in on another possible Stanley Cup run with Henrik Lundqvist about to turn 35 years old? Or do you keep your young core intact, hold onto your first-round draft choice and either make a supplemental deal to add depth or stick with what you have?

It's tempting to try to add a player like St. Louis' Kevin Shattenkirk, the top defenseman on the market who would indeed be a great fit on a Rangers team which could use a player of his ilk — a right-hander capable of eating up minutes who can handle the puck, jumpstart the attack and spice up the struggling power play, which is now 5-for-50 over the last 17 games.

Players like Shattenkirk are highly valuable commodities. Remember that Edmonton had to give up Taylor Hall to get Adam Larsson from New Jersey. These circumstances are a bit different, with Shattenkirk an unrestricted free agent at season's end.

In return for Shattenkirk, would Blues GM Doug Armstrong want one of the young guns on the Rangers' NHL roster? If acquiring Shattenkirk requires dealing away one of their NHL forwards or Brady Skjei, then that is a deal Gorton should not make for what might only be a rental, especially if a first-round pick also must be included.

The Rangers haven't had a first-round choice since 2012, when they selected Skjei, the slick-skating defenseman who's been at his best lately in what's been a good rookie campaign. The year before that they took Miller, who's taken another leap this season and leads the team with 46 points.

Of course, not all first-rounders are going to work out, as was the case with the 2010 selection of Dylan McIlrath. But in this salary-cap world, building through the draft is vital. Having players on entry-level deals who can make an impact makes a huge difference.

The Rangers weren't going to be able to pay Keith Yandle, whom they acquired at the 2015 deadline, so they traded his rights at the end of last season to Florida, where he ended up signing a seven-year, $44.45 million deal. Some team will eventually pay Shattenkirk big bucks. Fitting Shattenkirk in at a Yandle-like deal would seem difficult for the Rangers.

The idea that Shattenkirk, who grew up in New Rochelle, would consider taking less money to play for the Rangers has been out there for a while, but players taking discounts often seem like pipe dreams. The fact is, this is Shattenkirk's chance to cash in. Regardless, the Rangers can pursue Shattenkirk as a free agent this summer and hope they can find a way to add him then while retaining their current assets, or seek a defensive upgrade elsewhere.

It's not even certain Shattenkirk gets dealt by next week considering the Blues' improved play under Mike Yeo, although after losing David Backes and Troy Brouwer for nothing last summer, it'd be tough for Armstrong and St. Louis to handle Shattenkirk getting away without any sort of return.

The Rangers are better than expected this season. Gorton did very well to get the team younger and faster while remaining competitive. Stay the course, make what you can out of this spring's postseason and then look to improve this offseason into a top contender for the Stanley Cup.

Pregnant Bronx teen plans to sue city for $5.5M after NYPD cops zapped her with Taser - Duration: 2:36.

A pregnant Bronx teenager who was zapped by a police stun gun is expected to file a notice of claim Thursday, vowing to sue the city for $5.5 million.

Cell phone video shows an NYPD sergeant firing a Taser gun at Dailene Rosario on Feb. 10 in the hallway of her Wakefield building. She was screaming in pain.

"Get off of me, get off of me!" Rosario yelled as cops grabbed her. "I'm pregnant! I'm pregnant!"

Police, who came across a scuffle between two men while responding to an unrelated call, say Rosario pushed a cop and resisted arrest by sitting on her hands.

A draft of the notice of claim says the officers "illegally and without a proper warrant" approached and assaulted Rosario, who says she was 14 weeks pregnant at the time.

The girl claims in documents obtained by the Daily News that police fired the Taser at "too close of a distance" to Rosario.

The unidentified sergeant from the 47th Precinct was only 2 feet away when he jolted Rosario with the stun gun.

The NYPD advises officers to fire the electronic weapons 7 to 15 feet from the target, so the Taser darts are far enough from each other to create a charge that can incapacitate the subject, a police official told the Daily News.

"When they Tased me, it felt like my whole body was on fire," Rosario told The News on Wednesday.

She said the police confrontation took place after her brothers got into a fight over a video game. The responding officers tried to enter her apartment despite refusing to produce a warrant, Rosario said.

"There was no need for everything that happened," said Rosario, a student at Life Science School in Manhattan.

"I was already handcuffed when they Tased me," she added. "It was unnecessary."

The baby girl she's carrying wasn't harmed in the fracas.

Rosario was charged with resisting arrest and disorderly conduct.

"The actions of the police officers were clearly excessive under the circumstances," said Rosario's attorney Scott Rynecki. "The use of the Taser against a pregnant woman was dangerous and inappropriate."

The draft of the notice of claim identifies one of the responding cops, Officer Taralena Gerrato.

According to the criminal complaint, Gerrato said Rosario pushed her into a door frame after the pregnant teen declared that she wasn't going to speak to the cops. Rosario flopped to the floor and sat on her hands as cops tried to arrest her, according to Gerrato's account.

The Internal Affairs Bureau is investigating, according to a police spokesman who declined to comment on the notice of claim.

Gerrato has been with the NYPD for two years and is still on active duty, the spokesman said.

Bill Maher, who has taken the credit for the downfall of former Breitbart editor Milo Yiannopoulos, defended similar comments about pedophilia on his talk show in 1998.

While discussing the case of 34-year-old Washington school teacher Mary Kay Letourneau, who was originally sentenced to six months in jail after pleading guilty to two counts of felony second degree rape of her 12-year-old male student, Maher argued that there was nothing inappropriate about the sexual relationship.

"(Letourneau) is in jail because she is in love. That's how I view it," Maher said on a March 1998 episode of his ABC talk show "Politically Incorrect" that has gone viral since his interview with Yiannopoulos. "Basically, they're having a family and they're keeping the mother in jail because she won't conform to what society feels should be the perfect American family."

Letourneau began a relationship with Vili Fualaau in 1996 when she taught his sixth grade class at Shorewood Elementary School.

She was arrested in March 1997, at which point she was already pregnant with the couple's first child, a daughter named Audrey who would be born that May.

Letourneau pleaded guilty to two counts of second-degree child rape and was sentenced to six months in jail — three months were suspended — and three years of treatment as a sexual offender. She also agreed to never have contact with Fualaau again.

In February 1998, two weeks after she was released from jail, Letourneau was arrested again after being found having sex with Fualaau in her car.

She was sentenced to seven and a half years in prison for violating her probation.

Their second daughter, Georgia, was born in October of that year.

Letourneau was released from prison in 2004 and married Fualaau, then 21, in May 2005.

Maher defended the relationship again in a 2007 Playboy interview.

"I think it's a little offbeat, but you know, I believe in the double standard. If a 28-year-old male teacher is s---wing a 13-year-old girl, that's a crime. But with Debra Lafave s---wing her 14-year-old boy student, the crime is that we didn't get it on videotape," he told the magazine.

"Was he being taken advantage of? I wish I had been taken advantage of like that. What a memory she gave him!

I would think he's a champion among his friends."

In 1998, Maher defended Mary Kay Letourneau, a 34-year-old schoolteacher who had a sexual relationship with her 12-year-old student, saying she was imprisoned because "she won't conform to what society feels should be the perfect American family."

He also said that Letourneau deserved to be fired, but not imprisoned because it "was true love."

The articles resurfaced after Maher took credit for Yiannopoulos' downfall after appearing on his "Real Time" show on Friday.

Yiannopoulos resigned from Breitbart, was dropped as a speaker at the Conservative Political Action Conference and had his book deal canceled by Simon & Schuster after remarks that appeared to support pedophilia.

"As I say, sunlight is the best disinfectant," Maher told The New York Times. "You're welcome."

His reps did not return a request for comment.

WASHINGTON — Want to boycott President Trump? There's an app — and an extension — for that.

DoneGood, a startup aimed at connecting progressive shoppers with companies that prioritize fair wages and environmental protection, has added a new "Boycott Trump" app and a Google Chrome extension to let people know when the companies they're perusing online have in some way supported Trump — and give them an alternative more in line with their values.

The goal is to tap into the growing Boycott Trump movement, where liberals seek to avoid companies that carry Trump products, do business with Trump or are run by Trump supporters. The app and plug-in go a step further, suggesting alternate companies who pay their workers well, avoid excess pollution and treat animals humanely.

"The Boycott Trump movement has helped people realize how powerful their consumer spending can be as a tool for direct action. But we think it has an even more powerful impact if you don't just not spend with Trump but also spend with companies that have progressive values," Cullen Schwarz, one of the company's founders, told the Daily News. "A lot of folks are saying 'Okay, I won't shop at Macy's, I'll shop at Kohl's instead,' but if you're redirecting your money to another company that has sweatshops and pollutes the environment, is that what you want to do?"

Schwarz is one of two cofounders who, ironically, started the company partly as a way to escape Washington, D.C., and politics. A longtime Democratic strategist, he most recently served as the Department of Agriculture's press secretary during the Obama administration and worked for a number of Michigan Democrats before that. One of his partners, Scott Jacobsen, worked on a number of Democratic Senate races before a stint at the Children's Defense Fund.

The company is a public benefit corporation — its social mission is part of its legal formation, but it makes profits by taking a commission of sales from the companies it directs to. The new product both helps liberals avoid Trump products and — Schwarz hopes — lets DoneGood capitalize on a burgeoning movement to help get the company off the ground.

The organization was launched three months ago to help connect socially conscious consumers with companies, and Schwarz wasn't expecting to get pulled back into the political realm anytime soon. But he said customers started asking about ways to boycott Trump — and when they surveyed their customers, the response was overwhelming.

"We were already showing people ethical and sustainable alternatives to all sorts of big-name companies online but now folks can also see which businesses are supporting Trump and get suggestions for companies that are selling the same kinds of products but are making the world better instead," he said.

The greatest existential threat the human race faces is boredom. We are billions of people across the planet fighting in larger, more technical ways about the same things we were squabbling about in the Pleistocene: who gets the most stuff, who has the most status, who's sleeping with the cute guy or girl. Now we're doing it on the scale of nation states and multinational corporations, but at heart the game remains the same.

And it will, until it doesn't.

There are a few things that could shock the human race out of its habits. The one we're most ready for, the one we can hope for, is what we've been dreaming of and dreading for centuries now: alien life.

For as long as there has been literature, there have been stories that imagine life in the universe besides our own. Since Jules Verne and H.G. Wells, the modern imagination has looked toward the stars and planets for trees of life besides our own, and dreamed about what we could find there and what if would mean for us.

The identification of seven Earth-sized planets in the habitable zone around TRAPPIST-1 gets us one step closer to that. It isn't much more — finding an exoplanet with a high oxygen atmosphere or with radio wave traffic similar to our own — to push the possibility that Earth isn't alone into a probability. And, more importantly, a place we can aspire to reach.

When humanity first stepped into space in the late 1960s, it was a heroic effort done with a technology that was barely there. Most people in the U.S.A. are walking around today with more computing power in their pockets than took Neil Armstrong to the moon.

The research and development that the moon landings required shaped the technological world we live in now.

Digital cameras, CAT scans, water filters, home insulation, GPS, smoke detectors and memory foam all spun off from research for the space race.

If there is other life around distant stars, the obstacles to learning about it would dwarf every other project humanity has every taken on. The distance between the stars is vast beyond human comprehension. The conditions in interstellar space are still unexplored.

The astronomical tools that let us identify and understand exoplanets are still in their infancy.

The technologies that might bring us across that immense void — generation ships, suspended animation, warp drives — don't exist. Yet.

Like the building of medieval cathedrals where the generation that laid the foundations would not live to see the final bricks laid in place. Developing those tools would be the work of lifetimes. The technical experience and discoveries that would spin off from the research could transform human existence many times over before we were ready to attempt the journey.

Can we get there?

Knowing that something was waiting on the other side of the vacuum could be the goal that let us reach beyond our playground politics to something immensely larger.

What humanity — and all life in our one, fragile ecosphere — means when we see it in the context of a larger, better understood universe is probably beyond your imagination and mine at this point in history. The answers it would give and the questions that would rise from it wouldn't become clear in your lifetime or mine.

The science being done right now has let up peep through a keyhole. What we've seen is promising and fascinating. Just that should give us a better sense of our place in the cosmos.

As we get better at looking out, the chances seem very good that we'll find that planet or planet that promises more.

If we let ourselves be tempted out to the stars, it will be the working out of a dream humans have had since before we were human. Even if we fail, the effort will teach our children and grandchildren things about themselves and the universe they live in that you and I don't even know how to ask yet. It will give humanity an opportunity to invest in the best parts of itself, to grow and learn and reach for something beyond its grasp.

And all it will take is a little more knowledge than we have right now. One more step to let us see that there's something really, really interesting going on out there, if we can just get to it.

Nothing kills boredom like having a goal.
