NÃO MATARÁS - Eline Bélier e Marcos Favela - Duration: 3:22.

Oh, Marcos Favela

Eline Bélier

Let's go!

Thou shalt not kill!

Hey, no more innocence, get out of obliviousness

What have you been putting on the table?

A dead, murdered body

Of a soul caught by surprise

In the villainy of a crime committed

By the purest human incoherence

There are so many animal welfarists claiming innocence

There are no innocents at this table

The one who kills is a murderer

Wake up from this slumber

Come on, wake up quickly from this slumber

And make your conscious choice

Even if you must go against the flow

Take away from your life the death and cruelty

Hidden in the tricks of advertising

And you will see the bright result of this experience

Experience that brings a bright result

The kind that transcends who I am or who we are

The kind that transcends who I am or who we are

Think: what life can be worth more than another?

Does the deity have an unfair preference?

Or has this imperfection its source in the human haughtiness?

Yeah, in the human haughtiness

Let go of this misplaced vanity

Listen to what your conscience says

If you act like this there will be no mistake

No, there will be no mistake

Say, in the crooked lines of your religion

Have they not taught you

That your search for enlightenment and peace

Will be useless, will have been in vain

If you fail to comply with the "thou shalt not kill"?

Yeah, actions are worth more than just words

Written in books, they are worthless!

And when the action is outdated

The voice does not shut up

Yes, I have read in the texts, it's in the scriptures

Sacred books of all cultures

And they all have in their precepts

A commandment not to kill ...

Which the man insisted in distorting

He has distorted everything good that existed there

So, together, let's remember

That this is the path to peace: thou shalt not kill!

Come on, it's not hard to become a vegan

Love will be your greatest argument

To stop all suffering once and for all

To stop all the suffering...

... Of the innocents taken to holocaust

By an insane collective impulse

That has already left your heart exhausted

The path to peace: thou shalt not kill!

Enough of innocence, get out of obliviousness

Wake up quickly from this slumber

No life is worth more than another

Do not kill !

Thou shalt not kill!

Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday: Thou shalt not kill !

Panspermia: Life From Space - Duration: 6:08.

We tend to assume that life began here on Earth.

But it's possible that life originated on an alien world and in some form or another

was brought here.

This notion is called panspermia.

Panspermia is the hypothesis that life permeates throughout the universe, being sent from one

place to another by asteroids, comets and also by spacecraft, whether intended or not.

Panspermia assumes that life exists at least in one place in every galaxy, because if life

didn't begin somewhere then it couldn't be distributed to any other planets.

Panspermia also proposes that microbes are able to survive the vacuum of space for long

periods of time, which isn't at all a far-fetched proposal since we've seen microbes that

can do this.

Tardigrades can survive extreme conditions, including the vacuum of space, as well as

extreme temperatures, both hot and cold, and can live for more than 30 years without any

food or water.

Panspermia implies one of two origins for life.

Either microbial life began on a planet and rocks containing microbes reached into space

or life began on an asteroid or comet.

Now what's important to note is that panspermia doesn't necessarily imply intelligent life,

all that is needed are simple life forms such as microbes.

So long as one planet has simple life, it's theoretically possible that that life could

populate planets in the same solar system or even in solar systems hundreds of light

years away.

There's quite a big debate surrounding the possibility of simple life being common in

the universe.

In the Fermi paradox, the question that asks "Where are all the aliens?", one of the

most common camps is the simple notion that planets like Earth are exceptionally rare.

So rare that there may only be one such planet per galaxy or less.

This is called the Rare Earth hypothesis and raises the idea that we are alone in our galaxy,

possibly even in the universe.

A common question that gets asked with panspermia is how the microbes get to space from a planet.

One way is from asteroid impacts, that send rock filled microbes into space.

This is seen with the most likely explanation for the formation of the Moon.

Theoretically the Moon most likely was formed when a Mars-sized object, called Theia, hit

Earth, sending a lot of material in orbit around Earth that collectively formed the

Moon.

It's possible, in the right circumstances, that microbes could form and thrive on an

asteroid or comet.

The only thing they have to survive to colonize a planet is the exceptionally long journey

through space and the impact.

Panspermia can be said to be either interplanetary or interstellar but, either way, quite a lot

has to go in your favour in order to have life colonize a planet.

The chances of microbes getting from one planet to another are pretty low.

However the transfer of rock from one planet to another has been observed, since Martian

rocks have been found here on Earth.

Asteroids aren't the only way of distributing the microbes though, it could be done unintentionally

by an intelligent civilization, such as ourselves, through spacecrafts.

An extreme possibly are von Neumann probes.

Von Neumann probes are self-replicating spacecrafts that could travel to a nearby solar system,

grab natural resources in order to build some more probes and send them to other solar systems,

and repeat.

This scenario could be dangerously risky because the probes are travelling to thousands of

exoplanets while most likely carrying microbes, and it's especially risky if the probes

are designed to target Earth like exoplanets that have good chances of having and sustaining

life.

This is why agencies like NASA go to a large extent to remove spacecrafts of as much bacteria

as possible.

Although unlikely, some scientists have hypothesised that aliens could have planted us here on

purpose.

This is called directed panspermia, where an advanced civilization deliberately plants

microbes or life on other planets.

Another popular variation of panspermia is lithopanspermia, we discussed this earlier.

Lithopanspermia is transferring microbes in rocks ejected from one planet to another,

either to a planet in the same solar system or to one in a different solar system.

It's certainly possible since, as I mentioned, Martian rocks have been found here on Earth.

It does help with a lower gravity like Mars as as it's easier for rocks to reach space.

This is the first hurdle, managing to get ejected off the planet, while having the microbes

survive.

The next hurdle is surviving the vacuum of space.

Firstly, the microbes must be able to survive the effects of space.

The biggest threat would then be the constant cosmic rays.

The microbes would certainly benefit from being shielded as much as possible by being

buried in the rock.

Another factor that comes into play is how long the microbes can last for.

Interstellar travel takes a very long time, especially for speeds that asteroids tend

to go.

Even for a neighbouring planet, it can still take as long as a year.

The last obstacle is surviving the impact on the planet, which in itself is pretty difficult.

However if the microbes aren't able to survive the trip, dead microbes are still sufficient

to spawn life on a planet.

This is another variation of panspermia, called necropanspermia.

So if microbial life is making a trip across space and all dies, it's thought that the

corpses can still spawn life or act as a template for life.

A more exotic variation is accidental panspermia.

Accidental panspermia is the hypothesis that life on Earth could have begun due to an advanced

civilization dropping off their waste long ago.

How To Button Your Suits, Jackets, Vests, Overcoats, & Tuxedo - Duration: 11:58.

Welcome back to the gentleman's Gazette!

Today's video is all about how to button a suit jacket properly including your vest and

overcoat, and we also talk about the white tie or the tuxedo.

If you make an effort to dress up, you want to look your best.

Now sometimes if you button your suit the wrong way, it sends the signal I don't know

anything about conventions and how it's done and how it flatters me the most, unfortunately,

most people never ask why the rule is a certain way and because of that we decided to create

the ultimate guide on how to properly button a suit jacket.

Keep in mind that buttoning conventions have changed over time and what you wore in 1901

is different than what you wear today.

First let's talk about the single button jacket.

It's rare to see a single button jacket outside of evening wear, but it exists.

Usually, it has a peak lapel, sometimes notch lapel, but when you have that and it's a two-piece

suit or a combination with a jacket and pants, you simply button the button, when you sit,

you unbutton it.

If you wear it with a vest, maybe in a three-piece suit, you simply leave it unbuttoned.

It doesn't matter if you stand or sit, it's just unbuttoned all the time.

If you have a two button two-piece suit or jacket and pants, you simply button the top

button when you stand, and you open it up when you sit.

Generally, it's a faux pas to button both buttons because it simply looks odd.

Yes, it was something you would see in the 1920s, but men's fashion has gone away from

that.

If you go back to the 60s, you can see JFK wearing suits with both buttons buttoned however

they were way too low and just make it look odd.

To learn more about JFK's style, please check out this in-depth guide here.

An exception to this rule is the paddock coat or paddock suit.

Those paddock coat and suits were made to be worn on a horse and so they had a central

vent and much higher buttoning points and because of that, you could button both buttons.

Basically, it was a three button jacket with a button row simply left off.

In this day and age, 99.99% of two button single-breasted jackets are tailored, so you

only button the top button.

That also means you should never just button the bottom button of the coat unless you have

a paddock coat or suit with a lower button that is as high as your waist level.

If you decide to wear an odd vest or a matching vest to make it a three-piece suit, you always

leave the jacket unbuttoned.

If you have a three button single breasted jacket things are even a little more complicated.

On a simple jacket or a two-piece suit, you simply button the middle button or the top

two buttons.

Of course, it's only true when you stand and when you sit, you unbutton your coat.

Never just button the lowest button or the two lowest buttons because that looks simply

off.

Likewise, don't button all three buttons because that makes you looked closed off and it's

a style you would have seen sometimes in the 20s and in the 30s but then, suits are tailored

differently.

Modern suits are oftentimes not tailored in a way that you can button everything so it

looks neat.

If you button all three buttons, sometimes you get wavy wrinkles and it looks just bad.

You should also stay clear of buttoning just the top button because that gives you a Victorian

look and just looks odd because it exposes your tie and a shirt underneath the buttoning

point and it leaves very little on top of the v-shape.

A unique style is a so-called three roll two jacket which means it has three buttons but

the top button is rolled into the lapel, that way you see more of the shirt front and the

V over the buttoning point and basically, it behaves like a two button single breasted

jacket.

In that case, you simply button the middle one or it's the top button that is visible.

If you wear a vest underneath, either an odd vest or a three-piece suit, again, leave it

unbuttoned at all times.

Yes, you can find vintage pictures where men would wear that, but in this day and age,

it will just look odd.

So what about four and five buttons single-breasted jackets?

First of all, I don't recommend you wear them because they very quickly go in and out of

fashion and it's just not a timeless classic style.

If you still want to have a four or five button jacket, simply button the middle buttons leaving

the top and a bottom button undone.

I strongly suggest you do not wear a vest or a waistcoat because those jackets are tailored

so there's not much visible space for it.

Now if you look at double-breasted jackets, things are a little more tricky, double breasted

simply means that you have two rows of buttons that are usually parallel to each other.

The most simple version of a double-breasted jacket is the two button jacket, it simply

means you have one faux button and one that buttons that's visible in the front.

Just like all the rest of the garments, chances are there's a button on the inside that makes

sure that your lapels always look symmetrical and elegant.

Just like a single breasted four or five button coat, the two-button double-breasted coat

is a very dated look that places you in the 80s.

Fortunately, it's very uncomplicated to button it, you simply button it at all times and

you leave it buttoned when you sit or when you stand.

The four button double-breasted suit coat or jacket are a little more unusual but much

more mainstream and timeless and classic.

Basically, you have three options.

You can button just the top of the working buttons, you can button both, or just the

bottom, or if you have a square or rectangular button shape.

Most suits today are only buttoned on the top one or on both.

Traditionally, a double-breasted suit with peak lapels was more formal and all buttons

were buttoned at all times.

Only when you would sit would you unbutton the bottom one.

Today, people like the sprezzatura and more casual look and therefore, they oftentimes

leave the bottom button unbuttoned.

However, sometimes you can also find four button double-breasted coat especially in

evening wear where the top pair of buttons is spaced further apart and because of that,

you can only button them on the bottom button.

The six-button double-breasted jacket is probably the most popular and common style that you

will find.

Because there are six buttons there are different ways to position those.

A not so popular way to position the buttons is to have two parallel rows from the top

to the bottom.

If you have that kind of a coat or suit your button either all three of them or the top

two.

If you want to sit comfortably, you probably have to undo the bottom button, however, just

like with any other double-breasted coat, you never unbutton it completely.

The most common six button double-breasted silhouette is what I'm wearing here right

now.

It's basically two rows of buttons that are parallel with the top pair being spaced further

apart.

It creates a nice v-shape that accentuates the male attractive silhouette.

Traditionally, you'd button both of the bottom buttons for a very classic look.

Now if you go to Italy, you'll rarely see a man who wears a double-breasted coat that

is buttoned on both.

Usually, they button just the middle button; they like it because it's a more nonchalant

look and it's something that was really popularized by Lino from Alba Zara.

If you have a very formal double-breasted suit just like the one I'm wearing here right

now, you can wear both but the traditional look is probably a tad better and more accurate.

Now for six and more button double-breasted jackets, it's very important that you pay

attention how you button it on the inside and on the outside.

Because if I button the middle button on the outside and the lower button on the inside,

I get the asymmetrical look of my lapels and most people can't pinpoint what's wrong with

your outfit but it just looks off.

Because of that, most quality double-breasted suits will have two inside buttons.

So if you decide to button just the lower button on the outside, you button just the

lower one on the inside.

If you decide to button just the middle one on the outside, you can button either the

top one, or the top one and the bottom one.

But you shouldn't mix it up

Eight-button double-breasted jacket is very unusual, and it provides a very Maritime look

which is usually something you see only in a blazer.

Prince Charles has one for example, and he has been wearing it for years.

In that case, the top row is spaced apart, and he buttons the three button buttons below.

Because you have so many buttons on your front, chances are you'll have to unbutton the bottom

one or maybe the bottom two of you sit depending on what makes you comfortable.

Now that you know the proper buttoning rules for suits and jackets let's talk about Vests.

Single breasted vests are usually worn with the bottom button undone.

There are different theories about why that's the case.

One references Bertie who later became Edward the 7th, and he was so big, they simply couldn't

button the bottom button and because of that, other people adapted his style.

At the end of the day, it doesn't matter what the different theories are because it's just

a custom that you can see all over the place.

No matter if you wear a three-piece suit with a matching vest or an odd vest, on the single-breasted

vest, the bottom button is usually undone.

The only exception to the rule is for example, for evening wear such as white tie, single-breasted

vests and black tie single breasted vests.

In that case, you button them all the way because it's a formal ensemble and an unbuttoned

button would simply look off and too nonchalant and casual.

On the other hand, if you have a double-breasted vest, the rules are simple.

You simply have all buttons buttoned at all times.

Some Italians leave the bottom button undone because they want to be casual and show some

sprezzatura but it just looks off because a double-breasted waistcoat is simply more

formal than the single-breasted counterpart.

Now, what about other garments in a white tie ensemble?

There's nothing to button so you just leave it unbuttoned.

On the other hand, with a black tie ensemble, it's a little different.

If you have the traditional one-button jacket, you leave it unbuttoned, if you wear it with

a waistcoat or a vest, and you button it if you wear it with a cummerbund.

If you have a double-breasted dinner jacket or want to know more about the black tie and

how you button it properly, please check out this in-depth black tie guide.

When it comes to overcoats, buttoning is fairly simple.

Usually, you have all the buttons buttoned simply because it's supposed to keep you warm.

Yes you have the option to leave the bottom button undone because that creates a little

more range of movement and it allows a little more air in when it's not so cold outside.

If you have a double-breasted overcoat with different inside buttons, you have to pay

attention to the same things as you do with a suit.

Don't button the button inside with the top outside or vice versa, it will just look off.

I hope I didn't confuse you with all the different rules.

This is just a great reference video so whenever you're unsure about buttoning points you can

always come back to it so bookmark it.

in today's video I'm wearing a double-breasted robe striped suit from Ralph Lauren purple

label it is a six button configuration with the top pair being more spaced apart which

is the most common double-breasted silhouette because it's a more formal suit and buttoning

it on both but I could easily also just button it on the middle one the suit is paired with

a red and white houndstooth bourette tie from Fort Belvedere which I designed myself I go

with a matching pocket square in white with red hand rolled edges which are an x stitch

which is very difficult to achieve but we found some Italian artisans who still can

do that the red and white goes well with the tie as well as the white shirt it's a semi

If You Think Trump's Bad Now, Just Wait Until His Babysitters Quit - Duration: 3:39.

Recently a report came out showing that White House I guess staffers, the highest level

staffers had told the rest of the staff that they need to let them know before the end

of January if they were planning or quitting or they were going to stick around and be

around til after the midterm elections later this year.

But here's the thing that that particular story missed and Bloomberg just happened to

pick it up.

Donald Trump has already one, not staffed the full staff positions that he needs to

be able to run an effective White House but two, the White House is clearly expecting

a lot of people to quit, mainly based on the increased scrutiny that they're getting from

the Bob Mueller special prosecutor investigation.

What's going to happen when even more people leave, creating even more vacancies in the

White House and then Donald Trump is left to his own devices without any babysitters

looking over his shoulder to rein him back in?

Now in the past, White House staffers have said that they are worried because there's

not enough of them to constantly keep tabs on the president of the United States as if

he's some kind of giant man-baby that they don't want sticking a knife in an electrical

outlet, but they have admitted that they do need to keep close tabs on him at all times.

With those people gone, and more gone on the way and people refusing to apply for the positions

within the White House, how bad is Donald Trump going to get at that point?

I mean when you think about all of the horrible things that Trump has tweeted or said or done,

since becoming president, that happened, all of that with people looking over his shoulder

and saying, "No, please God, don't do that."

Or maybe word it this way instead of the way you were going to say it.

When those babysitters are gone, Donald Trump is going to get much, much worse.

Not just in what he decides to tweet out or say to reporters.

We know, based on reports from staffers that they have to cushion things for Donald Trump.

They have to sugarcoat them so that he doesn't overreact to them.

What's going to happen when you get a new person in there who wasn't trained by these

sugarcoaters who just hands Donald Trump a report that pisses him off?

Is he immediately going to reach for the nuclear football and just say screw it, I'm going

to bomb them?

Or are they going to have enough sense to rein his crazy ass in, because at this point,

I don't think you're going to have any competent, rational people applying for jobs within the

Trump White House and the few people in there who they might be horrible but at least they've

helped to reign him in a little bit, those people are likely leaving, so we're going

to be left with a crazy person in charge of the United States with nobody there to help

pull him back from the brink of pure psychosis.

That's what we're looking at with these particular situations and I fully predict that as more

and more people begin to leave the Trump White House and more of those positions become vacant,

you're going to notice Donald Trump's tweets and his statements are going to get crazier

and crazier because there's going to be nobody left to tell him to tone it down a bit.

The chocolate science hype machine - Duration: 5:40.

These are peanut m&ms.

This is you eating a lot of peanut m&ms after seeing stories about chocolate's unbelievable

health benefits.

Carlos also just loves peanut m&ms.

Almost every week you can open the newspaper, or turn on your favorite news website — not

Vox, but other news web sites — and notice that there are stories about the purported

health benefits of chocolate.

Chocolate can help you live longer, it'll make your nails shinier, it'll help you

lose weight.

There are so many stories about chocolate and its health benefits and we just love to

gobble them up.

But chocolate hasn't always been a media darling.

In the past, it was thought to cause acne.

No, this is just regular adult acne…

I don't drink enough water.

And this article from 1997 even called it "addictive."

At Vox, we started to ask ourselves how did chocolate become a health food?

It turns out, there's a reason behind the chocolate madness.

In 1982, Mars, which is one of the world's biggest chocolate makers, established something

called the Mars Center for Cocoa Health Sciences.

And its aim was to learn more about the cocoa bean and understanding cocoa and chocolate's

effects on the body, and whether it might have any health benefits.

Vox examined the Mars sponsored research and found

that out of a hundred studies we identified over the last 40 years, 98 of them had positive

or favorable conclusions.

That's a pretty big number, and it made us wonder - what's so magical about chocolate

that it's getting these glowing reviews?

Flae-vah-nols, Flah-vah-nols, Flae-vah-nols, Flah-vah-nols, they're micronutrients that

are found in the cocoa bean and they're thought to have antioxidant properties.

Mars' initial focus was on the overall benefits of chocolate, but it shifted to this specific

compound.

Some of these studies concluded that flavanols could boost your mood and cognitive performance,

and that both cocoa powder and dark chocolate can have a "favorable effect" on cardiovascular

disease risk.

Which sounds awesome, but it doesn't mean all kinds of chocolate have the same health

benefits — or any health benefits at all.

Dark chocolate, milk chocolate, and cocoa beans aren't the same thing.

To understand why, we have to check out a cocoa tree near the equator.

Just kidding, this isn't Borders, folks.

Cocoa or cacao beans come from these trees.

The beans are roasted and ground into what we know as cocoa powder or cocoa butter.

Dark chocolate is made mostly from cocoa butter and typically has a higher percentage of cocoa.

Milk chocolate is created from cocoa and, well, milk.

The difference is that it goes through more processing with added ingredients.

It has more fats and sugar and less cocoa — that's what makes milk chocolate so

sweet.

But it's also the reason milk chocolate isn't your best bet for these flavanols.

One of the big problems with flavanols, is that when you process chocolate you end up

killing them off.

In addition, different types of cocoa beans have varying amounts of flavanols to begin with.

So, different kinds of chocolate contain varying amounts of the compound manufacturers have

been basing their studies on.

So, the reason companies are funding so much science, they're putting money into their

own science and research institutions, and they're funding chairs at universities…

And the reason they're doing that is to sell more chocolate.

Chocolate is big business.

Chocolate sales have gone up from $14.2 billion in 2007 to $18.9 billion in 2017.

And Mars isn't the only company profiting from this.

Some of the world's biggest chocolate makers are also funding cocoa science, hyping it

up to be the next big thing to help you lose weight, or remember where you left your keys.

When the media, and press offices interpret some of these studies, we like to write "chocolate"

in our stories even though the studies were only looking at cocoa beans or cocoa supplements.

Despite a growing obesity epidemic, this niche of nutrition science is steering health-conscious

consumers toward premium and gourmet dark chocolate.

These products are now seen as "healthy indulgences."

In short term studies, researchers have found that flavanols can lower blood pressure or

improve cognition by certain measures.

But none of these things have actually been studied in long term research on endpoints

that really matter for health.

Well then, do these studies even matter?

So I want to be clear, these studies aren't necessarily bad studies, many of them have

passed peer-review and been published in prestigious journals.

But when you design and interpret a study there are all kinds of ways that bias can

be introduced.

This study published in Nature Neuroscience is a good example of that.

In 2014, this Mars-sponsored study looked at whether cocoa flavanols could prevent cognitive

decline.

The problems with this study?

It ran for only 12 weeks, involved a small number of participants, and focused on narrow

outcomes that made the results unreliable.

Okay… maybe there's more hype around the benefits of chocolate than there should be.

But like what's the worse that can happen if you eat a bunch of chocolate?

A little bit of anything isn't really bad for health.

But chocolate is also filled with a lot of sugar, calories and fat.

And consuming a lot of those things would counteract any health benefits you might get

from the flavanols or the antioxidants in even the best cocoa.

Right, so you probably want to eat chocolate in moderation, and not be this guy eating

a bunch of it in one sitting … dude…

Are you still filming me?

to say, lower your blood pressure because there's no excuse, er, science to back that behavior.

U.S. Lawmakers Gather To Honor Islam, Infidel Senator Shuts Them Down With 1 Question - Duration: 7:38.

Cowardly U.S. lawmakers recently gathered at a capitol building to honor Islam as a

peaceful religion during an interfaith meeting.

However, before they could finish the event, one senator shut down their shameless liberal

propaganda with one brilliant question.

Muslims have spread their religion most effectively by the sword, mass migration, and birthrate.

Of course, due to its relentless compulsions, Muhammad ensured that his ideology would survive

and thrive by implementing the death penalty for anyone who dares question, criticize,

or leave Islam.

Because Westerners have grown accustomed to our exceptional liberties and tolerance, many

cannot imagine a religion that must strike down anyone who insults its tenets.

For Muslims seeking to implement the Quran's commands, our blissful ignorance and good-natured

benefit of the doubt have provided a crucial stepping stone to accomplishing Sharia rule.

Fortunately, there are still those who are willing to risk life and limb to expose such

discriminatory belief systems.

On January 10, lawmakers gathered at the South Dakota State Capitol in Pierre to hold an

"interfaith" meeting, which included Islam.

Appallingly, these political elitists stood in support of Muslims, whose Quran repeatedly

calls for the slaughter, persecution, and enslavement of religious minorities.

Unfortunately for these ignorant legislators, their reverence for Islam was abruptly halted

when one knowledgeable senator stood in the gap for Islam's 270 million non-Muslims

casualties.

Former state director for President Donald Trump and recently elected Senator Neal Tapio

stood up and interrupted the praise of Islam, shouting, "If you don't have the freedom

to leave a religion, is there a freedom of religion?"

according to the Argus Leader.

The lone Republican lawmaker refused to be silenced, calling out both the liberal hypocrisy

of honoring the oppressive religion and the Muslim attendees' blatant lies concerning

Islam's violent commands.

"If you don't have the freedom to leave a religion, is there a freedom of religion?"

Tapio said.

"And that's the question we have to asks ourselves as a state."

Although several lawmakers attempted to drown out Tapio's truthful exposition by belting

out an impromptu rendition of "America the Beautiful," the indignant senator refused

to back down.

When someone contradicted that claim, Tapio insisted, "When 14 Islamic countries kill

you for leaving Islam, don't you think we would want to keep those people out?"

"I want you to go home and I want you to look into what laws of apostasy and laws of

blasphemy are," he said.

"…There are 14 countries in the world that will put you to death for what you believe,

or what you say.

Those values are antithetical to the values that are found in our Constitution."

Tapio's is not only correct but, just as left-wing media were viciously censuring his

claim, Hamed Kamal Muhammad bin Haydara was sentenced to death by Yemen's Islamic government

for blasphemy and apostasy, and Hasan-ul-Islam was arrested in Bangladesh for insulting Islam.

"14 Islamic nations believe it their moral and legal duty to kill anyone who leaves the

Islamic faith or who speaks against it.

And yet, if I, as a South Dakota state senator, attempt to point out the dangers of publicly

endorsing and sanctioning the most violent and least tolerant belief system on the planet,

I am called a racist, a bigot, an Islamophobe and a hateful person," Tapio said.

Of course, the left-leaning media was quick to shill for Islam, exhaustively denouncing

Tapio as "racist" and "Islamophobic," which is a word created to silence the critics

of Islam.

In fact, liberal rags like Think Progress pathetically refuted Tapio's statistics

with nothing more than name-calling, desperately avoiding doing any sort of investigation into

his claims like a good media outlet.

Disturbingly, Think Progress went so far as to slap the faces of millions of religious

minorities who face daily persecution and oppression in the more than 50 Muslim countries

by mocking Tapio's critical examination of Islam's explicit commands and laws as

"unfounded fears regarding Islam," making it a point not to investigate for themselves

or their readers any accusation critical of Islam.

Pathetically, the liberal media turned into drooling dhimmah, carefully citing one Muslim's

mistranslation and misinterpretation of a partial Quranic verse, falsely claiming that

Allah states, "There shall be no compulsion in [acceptance of] the religion."

However, the full scripture actually reads, "There is no compulsion in religion.

The right direction is henceforth distinct from error.

And he who rejecteth false deities and believeth in Allah hath grasped a firm handhold which

will never break."

In its entirety, the scripture clearly suggests that if someone believes in Allah or in another

religion, they will not truly change their minds.

Of course, while Muslims often cite this partial verse out of context to suggest that Islam

is peaceful, they avoid making mention of more than 100 verses that command using violence

to force unbelievers into converting.

Although Think Progress wouldn't even include the whole scripture for its readers, we'll

provide these verses, their chapter reference, and hyperlinks that offer further context.

Quran (2:191-193) – "And kill them wherever you find them, and turn them out from where

they have turned you out.

And Al-Fitnah [disbelief or unrest] is worse than killing…"

Quran (8:39) – "And fight with them until there is no more fitna (disorder, unbelief)

and religion is all for Allah" Quran (9:5) – "So when the sacred months

have passed away, then slay the idolaters wherever you find them, and take them captive

and besiege them and lie in wait for them in every ambush, then if they repent and keep

up prayer and pay the poor-rate, leave their way free to them."

Quran (9:29) – "Fight those who believe not in Allah nor the Last Day, nor hold that

forbidden which hath been forbidden by Allah and His Messenger, nor acknowledge the religion

of Truth, (even if they are) of the People of the Book, until they pay the Jizya with

willing submission, and feel themselves subdued."

Quran (47:3-4) – "Those who disbelieve follow falsehood, while those who believe

follow the truth from their Lord…

So, when you meet (fighting Jihad in Allah's Cause) those who disbelieve, smite at their

necks till when you have killed and wounded many of them, then bind a bond firmly (on

them, i.e. take them as captives)…"

Bukhari 8:387 – Allah's Apostle (Muhammad) said, "I have been ordered to fight the

people till they say: 'None has the right to be worshipped but Allah'.

And if they say so, pray like our prayers, face our Qibla and slaughter as we slaughter,

then their blood and property will be sacred to us and we will not interfere with them

except legally."

There are simply too many verses found in the Quran which prove that "there is no

compulsion in religion" is merely a twisted claim that Muslims use to convince trusting

non-Muslims that Islam is completely peaceful.

We should expect this from the followers of such a religion.

However, it is incensing that news media are willing to take this easily debunked claim

and serve it up to their readers as indisputable fact.

Thankfully, there are still a few free-thinking patriots, like Senator Neal Tapio, who refuse

to spoonfeed Americans a poisonous fallacy simply because it's easier to digest.

TFTW-Is Being Good, Good Enough? - Duration: 28:31.

We're so thankful that you tuned in to Speaking the Gospel.

Minister Herbert Moore from the Church of Christ, Atlanta airport, 3300 Old Jonesboro

Road, Hapeville, Georgia, 30354.

We are "Speaking the Gospel" is the title of our program, because the Bible tells us

in First Peter chapter 4 verse number 11, "If any man speak, let him speak as the oracles

of God."

Let him speak as the very word of God.

And even given that, in Second Timothy 3 verse number 16, the Bible says that, "The Bible

is inspired by God."

God breathe His word in Second Timothy 3:16, "All scripture is given by the inspiration

of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in

righteousness.

That the man of God may be thoroughly furnished unto all good works."

And we're so thankful that you have tuned in and we hope, trust and pray as we, you

turn your Bibles to Acts chapter 10, that you will see what the Bible has to say on

the title, "Is Being Good, Good Enough?"

Is being good, good enough?

There's a lot of good people in the world.

And oft times even at funerals, they would say, "This person was a good person.

And we know they going to Heaven."

But I want you to know that as we look at God's Word; sometimes we can go on our own

feelings.

And we can't go on our own feelings, we must go on by the Word of God.

The Bible shows us that.

We serve the God of Heaven and not the god about feelings.

Here in Acts Chapter 10 we see a man that was very good.

Matter of fact as I read this area of scripture, he was probably better than most of us.

Notice how it reads in Acts chapter 10 verse number 1, "There was a certain man in Caesarea

called Cornelius, a centurion of the band call Italian band, a devout man, one that

feared God with all his house, which gave much alms to the people, and prayed to God

always."

And then the Bible says in verse number 3, in Acts chapter 10 verse number 3, "He saw

in a vision evidently, in other words, clearly, about the ninth hour of the day."

About 3 P.M. of the day.

"An angel of God coming in to him, and saying unto him, Cornelius.

And when he looked on him, he was afraid, and said, what is it, Lord?

And he said unto him, thy prayers and thine alms are come up for a memorial before God."

Now we have to note something here that we know that God hears the righteous cry.

He hears the person that is right with Him, according to James chapter 5 verse number

16 and 17, "The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much."

But at this point Cornelius in not a Christian.

And he of course is a good man because God held his prayers and all the good things he

did as a memorial and He remembered those things.

But at the same time he is not a Christian.

Notice the beauty of this story.

Cornelius was knocking on the door of righteousness.

There's so many people knocking on the door of righteousness.

They're good people; they have many good attributes; they were raised right; they were raised in

a home that according to Proverbs 22 verse number 6, we're to bring our children up in

the way that they should go, not that they want to go.

The way that they should go.

They will not depart from it.

I am sure he had a wonderful upbringing.

But a wonderful upbringing still will not save you.

You must go further, you must not just be a good person, but you must be a righteous

person.

And somewhere along the line once you learn better, you do better, you must switch the

gears from a good person to a righteous person.

And when you become a righteous person, the Bible says in First John chapter 1 verse number

7, "As we walk in the light, as He is in the light, we have fellowship one with another,

and the blood of Christ cleanses us from all our sin."

So Cornelius at this point is a good man; but he's not a righteous man.

And a righteous man of course, you must be righteous in order to enter into Heaven.

A righteous person, and we have mentioned in Acts chapter 2 in our lesson before this

lesson that they said, "Men and brethren what should we do?"

In Acts chapter 2 verse number 37 and following, "Peter tells them to repent and be baptized

every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ."

For what?

For the remission of sin, so your sins would be forgiven.

"Because all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God."

Romans 3:23.

"There none that are righteous, no, not one."

Romans chapter 3 verse number 10.

No one.

The only righteous person that has walked this earth, is Jesus, our Savior.

The Bible says in Hebrews chapter 4 verse number 14 through 15, "That He had no sin,

He was tempted in every point, yet without sin."

Oh, He was a righteous person.

It's one thing to be tempted, we all are tempted but oft times we give in, and when we do give

in, we have to go back to be cleansed by the blood of Jesus Christ.

And the only way you can be cleanse by the blood of Jesus Christ is you going to have

initially obey the gospel of Jesus Christ.

You can be a good person, but good is not good enough.

The Bible says this man was so good, in verse number 2, "He was a devout man, and one that

feared God with all his house."

The Bible tells us in the book of Psalms, Psalms 111 verses 8 and following that, "The

fear of God is the beginning of wisdom."

This man feared God.

And I hope, trust and pray that you have that godly respect, that godly fear.

Because if you have that godly respect and godly fear, you will obey the gospel.

You have that godly respect, and godly fear, you will stay faithful.

Because you love the Lord.

You do not want to disappoint God.

You see the problem with sin, is when we sin, we don't just sin against ourselves and our

friends; but we sin also against God.

How do we know that?

We see the picture in Genesis chapter 6 and verse number 5 and following, when the imagination

of man's mind was evil continuously.

And what did God do?

God said, "It repented Him that He had made man."

But thank God for Noah, he found grace in the eyes of the Noah.

Grace in Noah.

Noah, one man, that's a model of the Old Testament and also the New.

Saved by one.

In the New Testament we are saved by one Jesus Christ.

In Romans chapter 5 verse number 1 and following, "While we were yet sinners," when we, we're

unlovable, were unlovable Christ died for us; "He died for the ungodly."

Oh how beautiful that is.

The Bible shows us that he was a devout man; one that feared God.

One that feared God.

Do you fear God?

Now that there was one of the attributes of Job, in Job chapter 1.

And Job was an upright man and he was one that fleed from evil; and he feared God, he

loved God.

Satan wanted to tell God you just put some stress on, you just put him through a few

situations and I show you he'll curse you to your face.

But, no Job didn't because Job sincerely loved God.

Those things that Job had been blessed with, Job sums it up in Job chapter 1 verse number

20 through 21, he said, "God giveth and God taketh away.

Blessed be the name of the Lord."

He was a devout man, the Centurion.

Oh, yes he was.

And God held his prayers up as a memorial.

I want you to notice verses 5 all the way down to verse number 7, verse number 8.

And the Bible says, "And now send men to Joppa, and call for one Simon, whose surname is Peter:

who lodge with one Simon a tanner, whose house is by the sea side: he shall tell thee what

thou ought to do."

You see God used earthen vessels.

He used earthen vessels in order to tell us what to do.

In Acts chapter 2 remember, "They asked Peter, what must we do to be saved?

He said repent, and be baptized every one of you."

See God did not, He does not use angels to tell us what to do; their messenger's but

He does not tell angels to tell us what to do; He uses earthen vessels to tell us what

to do.

That's why He uses me, He use you; God is an invisible God.

John chapter 4 verse number 24, "God is a Spirit: and they that worship Him must worship

him in spirit and in truth."

So He used earthen beings and He uses us.

And oh how wonderful it is to be used by God.

The Bible says in verse number 6 in Acts chapter 10, "And he lodge with one Simon a tanner,

whose house is by the sea side: he shall tell thee what thou ought to do."

And verse number 7, "And when the angel which spake unto Cornelius was departed, he called

two of his household servants and devout soldier, a devout soldier of them that waited on him

continuously; and when he had declared all these things unto them, he sent them to Joppa."

God has everything in motion.

God, the Lord has said in John chapter 10, "I have sheep not of this fold, of another

fold.

And this is exactly where we are now in Acts chapter 10.

It is the Gentiles now that's are going to come unto the gospel; it's those, that sheep,

that he's talking about.

Keep in mind that the church at this point was a Jewish church, from Acts chapter 2 verse

number 37 and following; because 3000 souls were saved and about 12 years passed by.

Because the gospel was to be to the Jew first and also to the Greek.

And now here is the Gentile world about to obey the gospel of Jesus Christ.

God does exactly what He says.

In Acts chapter 1 verse number 8, the gospel was to start in Jerusalem.

How do we know that then?

In Isaiah chapter 2 verse number 2 the Bible says, "It would start in Jerusalem, Zion is

where the gospel would start."

And that it did in A.D. 33.

The Bible says it was started in Jerusalem in Acts chapter 1 verse number 8, "And then

into Judea, Samaria, and then to uttermost part of the world."

And here in Acts chapter 8, it went to Samaria, and now unto uttermost parts of the world.

In Acts 10 as we see, the Gentile world, obeying the gospel of Jesus Christ.

God is a wonderful God.

In this same passage, in this same chapter, I want you to notice what it says in verse

number 34, in Acts chapter 10.

The Bible says, "Then Peter opened his mouth, and said, Of a truth I perceive that God is

no respecter of persons: but in every nation, verse number 35, he that feareth Him, and

worketh righteousness, is accepted with him."

See God is no respecter of persons, He loves all of us.

We're not saved by race but we're saved by grace.

Jesus did not die for our skin, but He did for our sin.

That's why we're precious in His sight.

No matter who we are we're precious in His sight.

We are so important that it's like the parable that is told when the one sheep gets lost

in Luke chapter 15, "The Lord leaves the 99 and looks for the one."

We're so important that the Bible says, "When one sinner repents, the angels in Heaven rejoice."

We're so important that the Bible says in Matthew chapter 10 verses 29 and following

that "God knows the hairs on our head, He knows how many hairs we have on our head."

Matter of fact He knows how many you left in your comb when you comb your hair.

That's how important you are.

We need to never forget that.

Often as I teach and preach, I often tell people, the first thing I tell them how important

you are to God, how much He loves you.

He loves you so much.

He loves each of us, separate and different.

"He has made us in His own image," Genesis chapter 1 verse number 26 and 27.

He loves us so much, He wants all of us to be saved.

But now no matter how good you are at this lesson, this is what this lesson is all about,

and keep in mind Cornelius was a good man, no matter how good you are, good is not good

enough.

We must cross over to righteousness.

And the only way we are going to do that is to be baptized in the name of the Father,

Son and the Holy Spirit.

Notice as we look, continue to read Acts chapter 10 verse number 9, the Bible says, "And the

morrow, the next day, as they went on their journey, and drew nigh unto the city, Peter

went up upon the housetop to pray about the about the sixth hour."

He's so good to pray, he is.

Praying about noontime the next day.

"And he became very hungry and would have eaten: but while they made ready, he fell

into a trace, and saw heaven opened, and a certain vessel descending unto him, as it

had been a great sheet knit at the four corners and let down to the earth: Wherein" in verse

number 12, look at verse number 12 in Acts chapter 10, "Wherein were all manner of four

footed beasts of the earth, and wild beasts, and creeping things and fowls of the air.

And there came a voice to him, Rise, Peter; kill, and eat.

But Peter said, Not so, Lord; for I have never eaten any thing that is common or unclean."

Back then the Jews were not to eat any thing that were common and unclean.

"And a voice spake unto him again the second time, what God hath cleansed, thou call not

common or unclean.

This was done thrice, three times: and the vessel was received up again into Heaven.

Now while Peter doubted in himself what this vision which he had seen should mean, behold,

the men which were sent from Cornelius had come enquiring at Simon's house, and stood

before the gate."

God had putting everything in motion; God is working it out.

You see God has a plan for all of us.

And that plan is for all men to be saved.

First Peter chapter 4, chapter 3 rather, the Bible says, "God is not slack concerning His

promises but is longsuffering to us ward.

Not willing that any should perish."

Did you hear that?

Not willing that any should perish.

God wishs that all men be saved.

First Timothy chapter 2 verses 1 through 5.

He doesn't wish that any should perish, but noticed that, that all should come to repentance.

That's why it is my job, and your job to tell people about the Lord.

It's my job, and your job, once we're saved to tell others.

To this point, Cornelius is a good man but he's not saved yet.

He's a good man but he's not righteous at this point.

Notice what the Bible says, "Now while Peter doubted in himself in the vision."

And noticed what the Bible says in verse number 18 in Acts chapter 10, "And called, and asked

whether Simon, which was surnamed Peter, were lodged there.

And the morrow after they entered into Caesarea.

And Cornelius waited for them, and had called together his kinsmen and near friends."

See Cornelius was concerned about those that were close to him.

Concerned, he was concerned about those that he loved, his loved ones.

We need to be concerned about our loved ones.

Because they may be good people but yet they must be saved by the grace of God, by being

baptized in the name of the Father, Son and the Holy Spirit.

But notice as we continue reading in Acts chapter 10 verse number 24, the Bible says

in verse number 25, "And as Peter was coming in, Cornelius met him, and fell down at his

feet, and worshipped him.

But Peter took him up, saying, Stand up; I myself also am a man."

I myself also am a man.

Women noticed when I said earlier, I said God used earthen vessels.

We're all earthen vessels.

We're a fragile vessel, our vessels are fragile but we are what God use to spread His Word.

Peter wanted Cornelius to know that he was a man just like him.

This is important to know here, because in James chapter 5 verses number 16 and following,

remember we mentioned that God hears the righteous cry.

And then mentioned the point of Elijah was a man of like passion, an ordinary man and

God heard his prayer, and it did not rain for over 3 and half years.

And then he prayed again and it rained again.

And the Bible points out, James points out, and God wants us to know that, God use ordinary

people to do extraordinary things.

And here Peter wanted Cornelius to know in verse number 26, that he was just a man, he

was just an ordinary man, carrying the message of Jesus Christ.

Notice what the Bible says in verse number 27 in Acts chapter 10, "And as he talked with

him, he went in, and found many that were come together."

At this point Cornelius is saying that "we're here; we're here to hear the word of God."

Now that's how faith comes, "Faith comes by hearing", Romans 10:17, "and hearing by the

word of God."

Let's keep reading, let's keep reading, let's go to Acts chapter 10, Acts chapter 10 verse

number 42, in Acts 10 verse number 42.

Let's see what Cornelius had to do in order to become righteous.

Keep in mind now he is a good man, but he's not a righteous man.

And what the gospel does for all of us it takes us from being good, ordinary people

to extraordinary people that are righteous.

Even when we sin, yeah, even when we sin the Bible shows us that the Corinthians was still

called saint; in spite of what they were doing.

They had many problems in the Corinthian church.

But they continued to do the will of God.

And God called them saints.

Why?

Because once they repented they were right with Him again.

Because in Isaiah 59 verse 1 and 2, "Your sins have separated you from God."

And this is why Cornelius is not a member of the church at this point.

This is why Cornelius is not a righteous man at this point.

Because he has not connected to God through baptism.

He has not become a child of God.

Then some may say, "Well, a person's a child of God no matter what, because they are made

in His image."

When you are made in His image you are a human being, yes you are.

But you must be born again.

In John chapter 3 verse number 1 through 6, "Of the water and the spirit."

Must be born again in order to be a child of God.

In Galatian's chapter 3 verses 26 through 27, the Bible says, notice this now, we all

the children of God through what?

"Through faith in Christ Jesus."

As many of us have been, what?

"Baptized into Christ, have put on Christ."

Have been clothed in Christ.

And that's why one must be baptized.

And notice this, go back to Acts chapter 10 verse 42 through 48 and the lesson will be

yours.

The Bible says, "And he commanded us to preach unto the people, and to testify that it is

he which was ordained of God be the Judge of the quick and the dead."

Verse number 43, the Bible says, "To him give all the prophets' witness, that through His

name whosoever believeth in Him shall receive remission of sin."

Did you hear that?

Whosoever believe in Him shall receive remission of sin.

Now some preachers stop right there.

All you have to do is believe in Him.

Well, if you go to James chapter 2 verses 22 and following, the Bible says, "The devil

believes and trembles."

The devil believes but the devil does not do what God requires of him to do.

There's a lot of people that believe but you must go further than that.

Some say just accept Christ in your heart and pray the sinner's prayer.

We don't see that in the Bible!

Where you accept Christ in your heart and pray the sinner's prayer.

I want you to notice, we going to be closing as we read these next 4 verses.

Look at Acts chapter 10 verse number 44 all the way down to verse number 48.

"While Peter yet spake these words, the Holy Ghost fell on all them which heard the word.

And they of the circumcision which believed were astonished, as many as came with Peter,

because that on the Gentiles also was poured out the gift of the Holy Ghost."

Just like there was the day of Pentecost.

The gift of the Holy Ghost was poured out on the Jews, and then poured out upon the

Gentiles because they're sheep of another fold; and God has planned it this way.

Look at verse number 46, "For they heard them speak."

Did you get that?

Faith come by how?

By hearing; hearing by the word of God.

They heard them speak with tongues, and magnify God.

Then answered Peter."

Here we go in verse number 47 and 48, "Can any man forbid water?"

That, noticed now, he says "water", cause you must be baptized in water.

In Acts chapter 8 verse number 37 and following, the Bible says, "Phillip and the eunuch, they

went, both went down in the water."

Baptism is a burial.

As we said in Romans chapter 6 verse number 3 and following, "That you were buried with

Him in baptism."

Notice what it goes on to say.

Bible says in verse number 47, "Can any man forbid water, that these shall not be baptized,

which have received the Holy Ghost as well as we?

And he commanded them."

See baptism is a commandment, we're commanded to be baptized.

"He commanded them to be baptized in the name of the Lord.

Then prayed they him to tarry certain days."

They were baptized in the name of the Lord.

Now the church becomes a church with Jew and Gentile.

Now the sheet that Jesus spoke about in John 10, of another fold is now in the one fold.

Glory hallelujah.

Remember there's one Lord, one faith, and one baptism.

Notice what happens in Acts chapter 11 verse number 26, the Bible says in Acts 11:26, "And

the disciples, the latter part, were called Christians first in Antioch."

They were called Christians.

They were not called Baptists; they were not called Methodists; they were not called Catholics;

they were not called Episcopalians; they were not called Muslims.

But Acts chapter 11 verse number 26, "They were first called Christians at Antioch."

Why?

Because now the whole group, the Jew and Gentile now are in the one fold of God.

And now the church is moving forward like never before.

And then as you see the church in the book of Acts, the church continued to grow and

they were teaching the word of God.

How does the church grow?

By planting the seed, planting the seed the word of God.

And this is the answer to the question that we had in the beginning of this lesson whether

or not a good person, being good is good enough, being good is good enough.

No it's not; that's the answer.

The answer is being good is not good enough; you're gonna have to be converted.

You're gonna have to be baptized in the name of the Father, Son and Holy Ghost for the

remission of sin.

You become a new creature: your name is written in Heaven; you become a member of the Lord's

church, the local church.

And one day Heaven will be your home.

Matter of fact there will be no more crying, no more pain, no more sorrow.

So if you're good enough, if you're a good person thank God for that.

For God wants you to be righteous.

Only the righteous will make it in, only the righteous

will see God.

The Toxic Attraction Between An Empath And A Narcissist - Duration: 3:27.

The Toxic Attraction Between An Empath And A Narcissist

Previously we have shown you why empaths and narcissists are great match.

The narcissists can get consent understanding and validation while empaths can practice

their healing skills to the narcissists.

However, there is a point where it does not happen at all.

It is when the relation becomes intoxicated.

One simple definition we can describe about the narcissist is their tendency to constantly

seek validation to others, especially their partner.

On the other hand, the empath can be considered as a healer because of their ability to sense

how someone suffering from any type of pain.

They take the pain and experience the pain of others.

In case with the narcissist however, if the empathy is not well educated, then most likely

he is going to suffer because he will feel the pain again and again as he is unable to

protect himself from the narcissist.

Let's witness more about the toxic attraction between an empath and a narcissist.

#1 - Energy-sucking

The empaths are usually positioned in disadvantageous position.

Their energy is usually drained because of constant lies, unstable emotion, and negative

aura emitted by the narcissists.

The imbalance in energy affects to the position of power.

In this condition, there is no fair bargaining position for the empaths.

#2 - Control imbalance

The life purpose of both persons in relationship is basically different.

One wants to heal others while the other wants to manipulate and use for the satisfaction.

This is not a balanced relationship, and one has to be sacrificed.

#3 - Playing it continuously

Once you are captivated, you are always in the game of narcissists.

You just cannot quit the game because the narcissists will play the game they know very

well.

Typically, they play to be a victim and start blaming you.

Since empaths are usually people with high sensitivity, they try to understand what is

going on with the partner – the narcissistic couple.

However, untrained empaths will only fall into the trap narcissists have set.

#4 - No change

It is frustrating for empaths to live with a narcissistic person.

However, sometimes empaths only want the best for the loved ones.

The empaths usually know that they may make mistake by being together with the narcissistic

person.

However, they always believe that such physiological disorder can be cured.

Unfortunately, it is trait that cannot be changed especially if we are talking about

experienced narcissists.

What you are going to experience is usually unbearable.

They will only change their behavior hours after you tell them to do so.

After that, they start to turn the table and let the game starts over again.

All in all, that's the toxic attraction between an empath and a narcissist.

A Language Made Of Music - Duration: 5:00.

For the first time ever, this week's guest video uses art and animation.

12tone is a channel about music theory

that uses pen and paper, and piano notes, and doodles of elephants,

but today they are also talking about language.

12tone: [beeps]!

Hey, welcome to 12tone! Or, to put that another way: [piano notes]!

Ok, that may have sounded like a nice but strange melody,

but it was actually a sentence in La Langue Musicale Universelle,

or the Universal Musical Language, also known as Solresol.

Solresol was invented in the mid-19th century by a French musician named Jean-François Sudre,

who'd become fascinated with the idea of a language made of music.

His first attempt, which he called La Telephonie, was fairly straightforward:

He just took the French alphabet and assigned each letter to a musical note.

This wasn't really a new language, though.

It was more like a code,

and it found its home where most codes do: the military.

Sudre tried to sell his system to the French Army and, later, the Navy,

but despite early interest, they never actually paid him for it.

He even built a series of properly-tuned cannons

in order to increase the volume of his transmissions, but to no avail.

Still, though, he wasn't about to give up on his dream.

Instead, he set his sights on an even more ambitious task:

A universal second language.

His goal was to create a language that was bound to no particular country,

one that every person learned in addition to their native tongue,

allowing free communication across cultural borders.

But just converting French into a musical code wasn't good enough for that.

Sudre was going to have to invent a real language.

To do this, he turned to a system of musical notation known as solfège.

This is that Do-Re-Mi stuff Julie Andrews was singing about.

Well, almost: In The Sound Of Music, the notes are

Do, Re, Mi, Fa, Sol, La, Ti, Do, which is the English method,

but most other countries in Europe use "Si" instead,

and since Sudre was French, that's what he did.

Anyway, having so few possible syllables presents a fairly obvious problem.

In English, it's hard to even guess how many single-syllable words there are,

but one estimate I found puts it at roughly 7,000.

Solresol, on the other hand, has 7.

These are reserved for only the most basic elements of communication,

like "yes", "no", "and", and "the".

Two-syllable words aren't much better: there's 49 possible combinations,

used for things like pronouns, greetings, and common descriptors like "good" and "bad".

They're also used for conjugation:

Solresol can't fit a bunch of different words for each verb,

so instead it has one verb form, the present,

and then just uses a set of two-syllable words to tell you about the tense.

But where things get really interesting are the larger words,

which have the room to build in some structures.

Three-syllable words are loosely divided into groups of 6, based on the first two notes.

Words starting with Sol-Si are based on fun and games,

including "run", "laugh", and "smile".

Words starting with Re-La, on the other hand,

are negative traits like "misanthropy", "distrust", and "intolerance".

At four syllables, he takes this concept to a whole new level,

breaking all the words up into seven groups, called keys,

based on their first syllable.

The key of Do, for instance, is all about humanity,

including the body, mind, and spirit.

The key of Re is for words about the household and family,

Mi is for actions and flaws, Fa is for travel and war,

Sol is for art and science, La is for industry,

and Si is for government.

There's also a second set of keys that come up

when your word includes a note repeated twice in a row,

although their meanings are usually related to the main key.

And that's it.

Sudre's language only went up to 4 syllables,

with less than 3000 total words.

The fifth syllable was left open for future development, in case new words were needed,

but by carefully removing things like synonyms, tense, and parts of speech,

which are managed exclusively through accents rather than new words,

he managed to squeeze quite a lot of meaning into just those 3,000.

Sadly, while Sudre's work made him famous, at least in certain circles,

it never repaid him for the time and money he put into it.

To quote the writer Paul Collins,

"Solresol is, at heart, the philanthropic effort of an idealist –

"and the Brotherhood of Mankind does not issue quarterly dividend checks."

After Sudre's death, though, his wife Josephine took up the cause,

and the language started to pick up steam,

with thousands of speakers and a society for its preservation founded in Paris,

culminating in 1902 with the publication of a guide to its grammar

by the head of the society, Boleslas Gajewski.

But the dream of a true universal language was fading,

so preservationists focused on another of Sudre's selling points: accessibility.

You see, Solresol doesn't actually have to be based on music.

It's got seven characters, and can be grafted onto any set of seven items,

like the seven colors of the rainbow or, more importantly, seven specific hand gestures.

This meant that anyone who knew the spoken language

could easily learn it as a sign language as well,

making it an incredibly useful tool in communicating with deaf people.

Gajewski's guide emphasized this possibility, but there was a problem:

At the time, deaf education in Europe was dominated by a philosophy called oralism,

which is basically the idea that deaf people should still learn to speak,

and that teaching them sign languages got in the way.

To be clear, this is no longer considered a reasonable approach, but for Gajewski,

it meant that the language he loved was cut off from the people it could help the most.

So who knows, maybe if turn-of-the-century educators in France

had been a bit more forward-thinking,

we'd all be speaking in notes right now.

Probably not.

But maybe.
