I am a marine biologist.

It was difficult, but it was a little easier than just drowning
neck deep in depression.
I ran.
I cycled.
I trekked.
I took my broken heart and turned to 'Broken Compass'.
A travel agency I started with my friend 5 years ago.
And now, my goal is to be unstoppable.

A special ceremony was held at Seoul Plaza, with the attendance of the president of the
PyeongChang 2018 organizing committee, a representative from the International Olympic Committee,
and others.
"The cold couldn't stop hundreds of people from gathering here, in front of City Hall,
to celebrate the 1-year countdown to the Winter Olympics.
This timer behind me has officially started ticking off the 365days to the Winter games
next year."
Set to open on February 9, 2018, the PyeongChang winter games joins in some 30 past summer
and winter games that set a timer before the official opening.
With a unique design and set by the official Olympic timekeeper, this one-of-a-kind digital
clock will keep everyone updated on how much time is left until the games start.
The ceremony also featured traditional Korean music and performances, reminding people that
the upcoming Olympic games are more than just a sporting event.
They will be a platform to introduce the nation's culture and hospitality to the world.
"For the successful hosting next year, it's important to keep up with the schedule.
We wish everyone, as a nation, participates in the event.
"
Having already hosted the summer Olympic Games in Seoul back in 1988, the 2018 PyeongChang
Winter Olympics will mark the second time Korea welcomes the world's best athletes who
will look forward to writing their names in history at the largest international snow
and ice sports event.

My Habit Changing System - Duration: 18:56.
Hi!
Today I'm inspired to share
my habit changing system
with you.
So whether you believe
in New Year's resolutions
or not,
it doesn't matter.
You probably have some habits
that you want to change.
And so...
what I want to tell you is that
regardless of whether
you set your New Year's resolutions
this year on the first of January
every new moon
you have an opportunity
to start a new cycle,
to change your habits.
And there is a way of doing it
and there is a way that doesn't work.
So, over the years
I have experimented
with changing habits,
I'm a little bit obsessed with
perfecting myself,
so I always...
I'm always on a mission
or taking myself to a higher level,
and I change all sorts of habits.
You know, always...
continuously upgrading myself.
So, I've experimented
with many different systems,
and I have tried
the Cold Turkey way...
And...
ten habits at once
on the first of January,
and many other ways.
So, and...
over the years I have come to
the process that works for me.
So I'm going to share with you that process
and... just again,
wanting to let you know,
even if you didn't start
any New Year's resolutions
on the first of January,
you can start
on a New Moon.
So, every New Moon
has an opportunity
for you
to implement a new habit,
to start a new habit.
And I'm going to put
all the new moons
for the year
down in the notes.
So, you can look up
when the next new moon is coming up
and you can gather yourself up
for changing a habit
or upgrading whatever you want to upgrade
in your life or in your business.
So...
my process
is by no means
'the process'.
It's my process
and it works for me.
So, I'm not saying
it's the only way of doing things.
So, if for example
you've had other systems
that didn't work for you,
well, maybe this one will work.
So...
How it works for me is
I do like setting my intentions
on the first of January,
and then I use
the new moon after that,
new moons after that.
So, why I like the first of January?
I'll just tell you that,
even though we've passed it
and it's kind of, If you missed the boat, you missed the boat.
But something that for you to know
next time.
You know why New Year's resolutions are
being so popular?
Well, actually, there is
something in it.
From the energetic perspective
it's like
we are coming up
to a particular point.
It's like...
the collective consciousness
is moving up to a particular point
and then on the first of January
there is like a tipping point
and then it's almost like
the feeling of going down a hill
for a whole year.
until we climb again
to the 31st of December
and then tip
and then again like this.
That's how I experience it
and that's what's happening
for me energetically
when I tune into the collective
consciousness.
So...
I want to ride that wave
because that's like having
wind behind your back.
So, not only
I'm going to be using
my willpower
but actually I'm having this...
wave behind me.
I don't know if you've ever surfed,
I used to surf,
so I know,
but even if you are just...
swimming away
you know what it feels like
to be on top of the wave.
Maybe you tried bodyboarding
or maybe you tried
bodysurfing.
So, you know when you are being
pushed by the wave
it's quite exhilarating,
it's actually...
nice.
and the time
when you are being tumbled,
and you are trying,
you are fighting against it,
and then you come up to the surface.
So...
that's the difference for me.
And...
So, on the first of January,
I want to jump on that wave
and I want to ride it,
and then every new moon
I put a new layer,
and I continue to ride that wave.
So, not to worry
if you missed this first of January.
You can jump on this wave
on the next new moon.
And like I said,
the dates will be in the notes below.
So, new moon is a new chance,
you see?
So, here is how I do it:
I've got a tracking sheet
that I created myself,
and...
I will tell you where you can get
this sheet later,
I'll just show you
what's on it
and explain how to use it
and then I'll give you
the guidance way to grab it.
There are a few key elements
that I want to explain.
One, the first,
it looks like a mountain.
So, I've got things
stacked up here, in layers.
And these are the different things
that I want to work
through the year.
And I may add more later
on another sheet,
But this is the minimum.
So, depending on how I'm going
I may add a few later,
but this is the minimum for me
that I really want to nail down
this year.
I'm not going
and changing all of them,
even though I'm excited
and I really want to change all of them,
I'm not going to do this
on the first of January.
Because that's a sure way to fail.
That's what I've experienced in the past.
If I try to...
implement
too many differences in my life,
like really rock my life,
and implement too many changes
at once
then it's really really hard
to carry it through.
It feels like an earthquake,
it creates stress
in system
and the subconscious mind will fight it.
So I do it gently,
one by one,
one by one.
That helps me to develop
my spiritual muscles
and also my self-discipline
and willpower,
and get stronger, and stronger, and stronger
as I go through these steps.
I'll show you what I recommend you do,
especially, if this is new for you, you know
especially, if you are not...
if you haven't been very good
at being able to carry through
with setting new habits,
this is what I recommend.
If you already have a good track record
then you can do what I do,
and which I'll show you in a moment.
But for the kind of newbies
here's what I recommend.
You start with one.
So, you would start
with one layer,
and I'll explain to you what's in there
and how to do it.
But you start with one habit at a time.
So, you do one thing,
and you do it for 28 days.
So, 28 days
is the full moon cycle.
So, 28 days is how long it takes
to reset
you energetically.
And that's what we want.
We want to create an energetic reset
So, once it's reset,
then you can layer another habit
and reset that.
So, one by one makes it really easy.
So, what I'm doing this year
and the reason I'm doing it this year
is because I already know
I have enough power
to carry through
with more than one habit.
I've built up some muscles,
so I know I can do it.
I wouldn't take
three major
habits
at once
if I didn't feel
strong enough to do it.
I would only do one
and then layer.
So, when you do one by one
what happens is
once you've completed one layer
you move...
once you've completed it
you move to the next one
and you layer it on top.
Once you complete that one
you layer the next one on top.
So, by the end of the year
you've established
all these good habits.
And it wasn't stressful,
and it wasn't like an earthquake.
You, actually, just went along
in step-by-step,
you actually do little steps
every single day.
You'll see
I've got stop
and start.
This is really important.
Because...
when you are changing a habit,
obviously, you are stopping something,
but what most people forget
is what they are actually
starting.
Sometimes people focus
on what they are starting
which can be ok,
but I also
would encourage to check,
is there anything
that you need to stop
in order to start that.
How it works:
If I just go and
try to erase that habit
it's almost like there is a hole.
And if I don't consciously
put something in there,
then my subconscious mind
will find something
that's probably not very good,
not very effective.
Then on the third line here
what I've got is hearts.
And I've got 28 hearts.
So every single day
at the end of the day
if I've done it
then I color in
the little heart.
And here is the trick here:
If I failed,
so to speak,
if I didn't do it
this day,
I do not just ignore this
because if I do that,
here is what happens in my mind:
'Oh, I failed. This is not gonna work.'
'Oh, I didn't do it.'
'Oh, well, I better give up.'
So, and I give up, you see?
But I don't want to give up.
So I do not ignore this
if I didn't do my thing.
I go to this sheet
and what I do is
I cross
that heart.
I don't color it
but I cross it.
Which tells me:
Ok, well, I skipped that day.
It's not a big deal,
I'm still counting my heart, you see?
Because what I'm going to be doing
is...
for example, here I've got two
that I've already skipped,
so, I'm being really honest with you,
it's not easy, right?
So...
I've got to that I skipped.
So...
Once I get to the end of my hearts
I'm going to be adding two
at the end
because I still want to be able
to do them,
I want to make sure it's complete,
it's full.
So, I'm going to be coloring
two more hearts at the end.
If I skip more days,
well, I'm just going to add them
at the end.
This is how I do it,
and this really works for me.
One of my habits
is I am upgrading my...
eating habits,
I'm taking my eating
to a high frequency.
So, in order for me to do that
I know that I need
to track
everything that I'm eating.
Because that creates awareness
that shines light
and illuminates
this process of eating.
And that helps me
to create changes.
I mean, that's the only way
changes are possible
is what gets measured
can get changed.
What gets illuminated
can get changed
another way of saying it.
So, there's a particular eating pattern
that I'm stopping,
and what I'm starting
is tracking
and mindful eating.
So, I am tracking here
my tracking.
So, I'll explain what I mean.
I am tracking
what I eat every day.
So, I use an app
called MyFitnessPal,
something like that, I can't remember.
It's a free app,
I'm sure there are plenty other ones.
So, it's just for me, I know,
in order for me to create any changes
in that area of my life,
eating,
I need to be acutely aware
of everything that's happening,
I cannot be half asleep, you know,
I can't be half unconscious in that space.
So, I need to illuminate it
as much as I can,
hundred percent illumination.
So, nothing goes unnoticed.
I'm eating three...
walnuts and five raisins -
well, that gets recorded.
Everything gets recorded
because that's the habit I'm developing.
This doesn't mean
I'm going to be using tracking
for 12 months.
That doesn't mean that.
What it means is that
I'm using tracking
for 28 days,
and that's what I'm tracking here.
So, that's the tracking I'm tracking.
So, I'm tracking my food over there,
and that's the illumination part.
At the end of the day
I color in one heart.
If I did hundred percent tracking
during that day,
then I colour in one heart.
And every single day
at the end of the day
I colour in.
So, after 28 days
I have tracked
everything
that crossed the threshold of my mouth.
Which means for 28 days
I had so much illumination
in that space
that already within those 28 days
the changes that I wanted to create
have been created.
So, it happens automatically
as I do that.
For me this system really works
because every single day
I am taking action on my sheet
whether it's coloring
or crossing,
it's the process.
And what works in this process
is tiny tiny little steps,
tiny wins, you see.
So, every single day
it's a tiny win.
And even if I crossed it
it doesn't feel like I've fallen off the wagon,
I just skipped today, you see?
And I'm adding it at the end.
So, I keep going,
and then once it's finished
that feels like a win.
And I've exercised my willpower
and my muscle,
now I'm ready to do the second one.
And I'm going to be starting the second one
on the new moon.
So, the next new moon
I'm going to go for the 28 days,
I'm going to follow the same system.
When that's done,
I'm going to go for the next one.
Maybe after three
I feel like I need to take a break
and just settle in
in those three habits even more,
I'll do that.
If at the end of
one of the 28 days,
let's say, I skipped five days
within the 28 period
for one of the habits
that I'm changing
and by the end of 28 hearts
I feel...
I'm a bit wobbly in that.
I'm going to do it again.
So, my second line
will be the same habit
for 28 more days.
Until I feel
I'm set in it.
Once I'm set in it
and I'm not using my willpower
to enforce the habit
then I move on to the next one.
So, the other tool that I use
to support me with this

and of course I use them myself.

They are also calling for Washington to not only focus on countering missile threats,
but advance America's missile defense technology so it doesn't fall behind other nations.

According to conservative news website Washington Free Beacon, the petition was sent last week
by members of the House missile defense caucus, which is led by Representative Trent Franks.
They cited Iran's latest test of ballistic missile technology as reinforcing belief in
Congress that something must be done to secure the American homeland.
In the letter, the group called for a prompt allocation of funds needed to bolster missile
defense capabilities in order to protect the U.S. and its allies from the world's deadliest
weapons for years to come.
Upon President Donald Trump's inauguration, the White House said on its website that Washington
will develop a state-of-the-art missile defense system to protect against missile-based attacks
from nations like North Korea and Iran.
However, the lawmakers expressed concern with these comments, saying the focus should not
solely be on countering these threats, but to outpace the ongoing missile buildup taking
place in other countries.
They said Washington's near-peer competitors are working to exploit gaps in America's current
