Estherlovesyou cake [FOOD VIDEO] [스윗더미 . Sweet The MI] - Duration: 10:24.

Hi this is Sweet The Mi :)

I'm seeing the estherlovesyou character everywhere

So I made the cake of this character.

It's a tiny cake but it was pretty handy to make.

Lots of ingredients too right?

Now let's bake the red velvet cake.

In a mixing bowl mix together the flour,

baking powder, cocoa powder and salt.

In another bowl beat room temperature butter.

Add the sugar and mix

Add the egg and mix

Add the vegetable oil and mix

Now add the buttermilk from the previous video.

Add the vanilla extract and vinegar and whisk.

Sift together the pre made powder mixture and whisk together.

Add the food coloring to make red color.

Pour the batter over the oven pan and flat the surface.

Preheat the oven to 350℉ and bake.

Now let's make the ears.

I'm using the meringue cookies for the ears.

Beat egg whites and powdered sugar until very firm.

Add the food colorings to make light pink and strong pink colors.

Place the design template under and shape the ears.

Put a few wooden stick on the cake for the shaping.

When it's all ready bake at 200℉ preheated oven for 120 minutes.

I made eyes, nose and mouth using the chocolate.

Place the design template under and shape the chocolate.

Time to make cream cheese frosting for icing.

Beat room temperature cream cheese.

Whisk together heavy cream and sugar.

whip until very firm.

Add the food coloring to make light pink color.

Half of the frosting goes into a piping bag with a star shaped tip.

Slice the pre baked red velvet cake

with a large cookie cutter.

Place the cake over the cake turntable and sand the cream cheese.

Lightly trim the top and side of the cake

and pipe the star shape cream.

Make sure to pipe in the same size for pretty look.

Now stick the pre made eyes, nose and mouth

For the finish touch put the meringue cookie ears on top!

Estherlovesyou cake is Done!

All the work I've done for this tiny cake...

Good job Sweet The Mi.

It taste like...Nice red velvet cake!

It's the best to put the meringue cookie ears right before you serve.

Saudi Arabia Is A US Colony | Everybody's Lying About Islam 5 - Duration: 3:56.

Ladies and Gentlemen, Saudi Arabia is a United States Colony.

On the surface this may seem ridiculous.

Saudi Arabia doesn't look very American, and it pushes a very anti-American ideology.

But a colony is what it is.

And I'm not talking colony in a Neo-Colonial or Post-Colonial, they've got a lot of Mcdonald's

franchises sense either.

I mean colony in a full throttle 19th century imperialist sense.

You've heard of the British Empire right?

That Empire's most important component was British India, which included modern India,

Pakistan, Bangladesh and Burma.

They managed to control all of this territory with a tiny amount of British soldiers.

They used a lot of strategies to do this, but one of the most important was client kingdoms.

All of this territory was controlled by Britain, but a ton of it was controlled in the form

of client kingdoms, with their own courts and even their own armies.

Everybody knew they weren't really independent, but the polite fiction was carefully preserved.

This allowed the inhabitants of these kingdoms to preserve some self-respect, and it kept

the territories out of the hands of more powerful British enemies.

This is exactly the role that Saudi Arabia plays today.

When people question why Saudi Arabia gets away with what they get away with the standard

answers always point to Saudi power.

We're told that it's the oil, or the amount of money that the Saudis pour back into the

US economy.

But it's really Saudi weakness that makes them useful.

The country's silly ideology, and infinitely corruptible ruling family makes it the perfect

client kingdom.

Its dozens of universities teach religion rather than nationalism and useful skills.

The Saudi military barely knows how to use all the weapons it buys.

Saudi Arabia has been a client kingdom for its entire modern existence.

It was born because the British preferred them to the more powerful Ottomans and Persians.

It has survived because the US preferred it to the Arab nationalists and Communists.

It's a lot easier to keep a king and his family happy than it is to keep a real country

happy.

KINGS LIKE MONEY.

PEOPLE LIKE RESPECT.

Saudi Arabia survived 9-11 because it successfully convinced the US government that Iran presented

a greater threat.

That's true to a degree.

But 15 years of following the Saudi path has made Iran much more powerful.

It has also created ISIS and a range of other nasty organizations that carry out international

terrorism in the name of Saudi ideology.

Saudi Arabia is a client kingdom we no longer need.

The negatives have outweighed the positives since the 1990s.

Communism hasn't been a real threat for almost three decades.

Arab nationalism is essentially dead and Iran is only an enemy when we're actively invading

them or their direct neighbors.

Whoever ends up ruling the middle east will be happy to sell us their oil.

Actually, given the world's declining appetite for fossil fuels, they'll be desperate to

sell us their oil.

Saudi Arabia is a US colony.

It's not worth the cost.

It's time to let it go.

Bonaldo at Salone del Mobile 2017- Interview with the designer Alain Gilles - Duration: 0:58.

Basically for Bonaldo in these latest years we worked pretty much on the structure,

so I mean by that the relationship that there is between the structural part of piece and the rest of the piece.

So it's revealing part of the structure, it's creating discussion within the pieces,

it's creating movement, and all of this.

We're also trying to highlight the key features of each furniture piece,

by really playing with many types of finishes

and this also allows us to tap on almost different top markets,

different visions, playing with the same exact pieces just by changing their colors and the materials used in it.

Song "The Rain Was Over Yesterday"

As the wind howls the song of the hurricane.

As the wolf howls into the full moon.

So i'm singing to you, my Svetlana.

As I can - I sing or moan.

The rain ended yesterday, but I stayed.

The rain was over yesterday, but so what?

The rain was over yesterday. He was replaced by a day.

But I moan and howl. And I moan and howl: Uh-uh!

Spring torment me with poplar fluff,

But, thank God, the sun does not bake.

In general, I overheard somewhere,

That the whole summer will be gray.

The rain ended yesterday, but I stayed.

The rain was over yesterday, but so what?

The rain was over yesterday. He was replaced by a day.

But I moan and howl. And I moan and howl: Uh-uh!

Let the wind howl the song of the hurricane.

Let the dog call new trouble.

I will sing to you, my Svetlana,

As I can - I sing or moan.

The rain ended yesterday, but I stayed.

The rain was over yesterday, but so what?

The rain was over yesterday. He was replaced by a day.

But I moan and howl. And I moan and howl: Uh-uh!

The Real Reason You Don't Hear From Sacha Baron Cohen Anymore - Duration: 5:10.

Hollywood was once very niiiiiice to Sacha Baron Cohen, the British comedian who broke

through in the U.S. with 2006's Borat: Cultural Learnings of America for Make Benefit Glorious

Nation of Kazakhstan.

"Welcome to our country."

"My name ah Borat."

"Ok, well, ah good good.

I'm not used to that but that's fine"

Centered around an often crude, sexist, racist and naïve reporter from Kazakhstan, the comedy

opened up opportunities for Cohen to star in a wide range of big movies like Talladega

Nights, The Dictator, Alice Through the Looking Glass, Les Misérables and more.

But despite that string of roles, Baron Cohen hasn't popped up on the big screen quite as

often as he once did — and here are a few reasons why.

Family man

Unlike many of his peers, Baron Cohen doesn't churn out multiple movies per year, and that's

by design.

Sacha and his wife, actress Isla Fisher, have three young children, and they both want to

be active, present parents.

Cohen has committed to only making a movie every couple of years, while Fisher plans

to only take supporting role until their kids are fully grown.

While these Hollywood parents love to act, it sounds like they're putting family first

— at least for a little while.

Real World Reputation

Even if Baron Cohen wanted to keep making reality-blurring movies like Borat, he doesn't

think he could.

A victim of his own success, he fears he's become too recognizable to pull off a movie

like Borat or Bruno again.

On top of that, there's also the matter of the inherent danger in making those kinds

of movies, as Baron Cohen's films have definitely landed him in hot water in the past.

"The idea of the movie was actually to end it with inciting a riot in Arkansas while

me and my co-star made out on stage."

He was lucky to get out of that one unharmed, but even a minor, non-deadly stunt from Sacha

can end up being very stressful.

When Baron Cohen made a surprise appearance as Ali G at the 2016 Academy Awards, people

were genuinely shocked — because the show producers had specifically told him not to

do it.

This caused some stress for his wife, who had to be complicit in the prank and even

smuggled the Ali G costume into the awards ceremony under her dress.

She then had to help her husband get into character backstage and lie to the producers

who were trying to figure out what he was up to.

"So I was really stressed I was like 'Honey honey this isn't gonna work' then I had to

go out finally and I said 'There is something that is wrong with his stomach.

It's really bad.'

Fisher did what any reasonable person would do after faking out 20 million people on live

TV; she hit the bar...

The Brothers Grimsby

Baron Cohen's last "big" movie was 2016's The Brothers Grimsby.

Like some of Baron Cohen's previous films, the mismatched spy comedy made headlines not

for its creativity, but more for it's shockingly crude moments.

The movie was wildly unsuccessful, both commercially and critically as it really seems like almost

no one connected with this flick.

It was one of Baron Cohen's few leading roles in a movie in which he didn't play a character

interacting with real life people — and audiences just weren't that into it.

One hit Wonder...

Between 2000 and 2004, Sacha Baron Cohen created three main characters for his comedy series,

Da Ali G Show — Ali G, Borat and Bruno.

And by 2009, he'd brought all of them to the big screen.

While Ali G Indahouse wasn't released theatrically in the U.S., 2006's Borat was a massive

hit, bringing in $128 million and earning Baron Cohen and his collaborators an Oscar

nomination for screenwriting.

"This suit is black, purse, not"

In 2009, Baron Cohen brought his third and final character, Bruno, to movie audiences,

but he was unable to recapture the magic of Borat.

Bruno, a mockumentary about an openly gay, fashion-obsessed Austrian weirdo seriously

underperformed, bringing in less than half of what Borat did and undoubtedly slowing

down Baron Cohen's rise to fame.

Breakthrough dramatic role

In 2010, it was announced that Baron Cohen was considering starring as singer Freddie

Mercury — to whom he certainly bears a resemblance — in a biopic about the late Queen frontman.

Baron Cohen was actively involved in trying to get the movie off the ground, even consulting

major directors like David Fincher and Tom Hooper.

But in 2013, he decided to pull out of the project — and the film still hasn't been

made.

The actor claims he left the project because the surviving members of Queen wanted the

movie to be a relatively tame biopic about the entire band.

On the other hand, Baron Cohen wanted it to be purely a Freddie Mercury movie showcasing

the late rock star's wild life.

Queen guitarist Brian May offered a different opinion on the issue, suggesting that Baron

Cohen would have be a distraction, as he doubted that the larger-than-life actor could actually

disappear into the role and do it justice.

What's next?

Well, we likely haven't heard the last of Sacha Baron Cohen and it wouldn't be surprising

if he's working on another big character right now.

From what we do know, Cohen has two main projects in works the for the next few years.

The first is a timely bit of satire called Greed, in which he plays a money-mad, financial

law-skirting billionaire.

The other is a big-budget film adaptation of Mandrake the Magician, in which he'll star

as the title character, a heroic master of illusion.

Seems like a good fit…

Brown v. Board of Education - Duration: 7:32.

Mr. Beat presents

Supreme Court Briefs

Topeka, KS 1950

Schools were segregated by skin color.

Each day, 8-year old Linda Brown and her sister had to walk one mile, crossing several busy railroad tracks along the way, to get to a bus that led them to school across town.

Now, an elementary school already existed just four blocks from their home, but this school was for white children only,

and Linda Brown and her sister were African American.

Linda's father, Oliver Brown, tried to enroll her in the white only elementary school, but the principal of the school wouldn't allow it.

So Brown to the Topeka's branch of the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People, or NAACP, and asked for help.

The NAACP had actually already been planning on challenging segregation in public schools.

The organization helped 12 other African American parents attempt to enroll their children in whites-only schools in the Topeka school district.

A major goal of the NAACP was to bring down the precedent set up by Plessy v. Ferguson

the 1896 Supreme Court decision that said segregated facilities based on skin color was ok, as long as both facilities were the same quality.

This became known as the "separate but equal" doctrine.

The NAACP helped Brown and the rest of the parents sue the Board of Education of the city of Topeka after the district continued to refuse to let their children enroll in whites-only schools.

The parents claimed their children's rights

as protected by the equal protection clause of the 14th amendment, were being violated.

The NAACP put Oliver Brown at the head of the roster as a legal strategy.

The Board of Education argued that segregation was already a way of life, and segregated schools simply got them ready for the segregation they would encounter as adults.

They also claimed that segregated schools were not harmful to black children.

The United States District Court for the District of Kansas heard the case, and ruled in favor of the Board of Education, using the ruling in Plessy v. Ferguson as their justification.

And yet, weirdly, the three-judge District Court panel argued that segregation hurt African American children.

Still, they insisted that whites-only and blacks-only schools in Topeka were of equal quality in terms of facilities, the qualifications of teachers, transportation, and what they were taught.

Brown and the rest of the parents appealed to the Supreme Court.

As it turns out, there were parents across the country fighting fiercely against school segregation in public schools as well.

In 1952, the Court considered five different cases that all dealt with the issue.

Ultimately, the Court just combined all five cases under the name of Brown v. Board of Education.

The NAACP had been involved in all five cases, and appointed Thurgood Marshall, a future Supreme Court justice, to argue the case for Brown.

The Court heard the case in spring of 1953, but remained divided on the issue

and they knew this was a big freaking deal, so they didn't want to rush it.

Chief Justice Fred Vinson was really worried about a close vote that would dramatically change the country, and he, in particular, wanted to postpone the decision.

He died in September, and President Dwight D. Eisenhower nominated Earl Warren, the former governor of California, as Vinson's replacement.

The Court reheard the case in December 1953, with Warren now leading.

For several months, the justices debated and discussed the case.

One justice who had thought about voting against Brown, Robert H. Jackson, suffered a mild heart attack during this time.

Warren went to visit him in the hospital, continuing to discuss the case during his recovery.

Ultimately, Jackson would change his mind.

Warren was able to do what Vinson was not- he brought all the Justices together for a unanimous decision.

That's right. On May 17th, 1954, the court voted 9-0 in support of Brown.

This overturn the now infamous Plessy v. Ferguson decision

saying that segregation of schools based on skin color went against the Equal Protection Clause of the 14th Amendment.

The court also argued that segregated schools made African American children feel inferior and damaged their development.

Warren gave the opinion of the Court, saying "We conclude that in the field of public education, the doctrine of 'separate but equal' has no place. Separate educational facilities are inherently unequal."

Reporters at the announcement of the decision were shocked that it was unanimous.

They expected a divided court.

They were also shocked to see Robert Jackson there.

Jackson had actually left the hospital to do so, and wanted to be there to show the Court was truly united behind the decision.

Now, the Court did not announce how their ruling was to be enforced.

Instead, it asked the attorney generals of all states enforcing segregation laws for their feedback.

The Court heard a bunch of more hearings over the next year, and on May 31, 1955, announced a plan for how to proceed with the desegregation of public schools.

They said it should occur with "all deliberate speed." Whatever that means.

That decision became known as Brown II. Sounds like a great movie sequel.

Anyway, of course many tried to ignore the ruling, and it would take several years before school systems fully desegregated. The South in particular resisted.

In probably the most famous case, 9 African American students attempted to go to the all-white Little Rock Central High School in Little Rock, Arkansas.

The governor, Orval Faubus, had prevented them from going.

The Little Rock Nine, as they became known, were only allowed to attend after President Eisenhower stepped in and sent paratroopers to escort the students everyday for an entire year.

Other than Marbury v. Madison,

Brown v. Board of Education might just be the most important Supreme Court decision in American history.

It was consequential. All of sudden, all of American society and even culture changed.

It paved the way for integration and was a huge victory in the Civil Rights Movement.

It also proved as a model for using lawsuits to reform society.

I'll see you for the next Supreme Court case, jury!

Professional Business Coaching: Open to receiving ideas - Duration: 6:55.

Hello!

This is Lynne Jacob, founder of MLJInternational.com, creator of the seven simple strategies 4 success

and author of the book, I know you know but you don't understand which you can find on

my website and order through Amazon.

Today I want to talk about strategy number 5, in these seven simple strategies 4 success.

Now I've been working with this one contractor since 2007, that's a decade, a decade as of

March 2017 we've been working together.

He did his very first ever three-year vision in May of that year, a decade ago.

And when we were in our coaching session this week, we were again still focusing on growing

and strengthening his team.

So that's strategy number 5, it's all about your championship support team.

It's all about him becoming a championship leader.

Well, he is a championship leader.

We've been working together for 10 years and he went from going to throw in the towel and

go get a job.

Seriously, he thought he had made that decision, but by the grace of God he didn't make decisions

in a fantastic way back then.

And so he not only has improved that business dramatically, he has so little to do with

that original business.

But he bought another business and he's growing it and it's gone through its teenage years,

its teenage hood where no one is in control of the business, it feels like to the point

that he now has the freedoms that he's been focusing on in all this time that we've been

working together.

Well maybe not the entire decade, because he did not see all those freedoms before.

So it would be maybe in the Last 5 Years or 3 years that he's really really really been

focusing on getting the freedoms of being an owner of a couple of businesses, actually

he's got a third one, working on the fourth one, and he wants to be able to do all of

this remotely, so he bought this beautiful beautiful fifth wheel that he drags behind

his truck once in a while, but the thing is that this week and in the last month in our

coaching sessions he's been talking about how it's kind of boring at work.

He goes into the office not 5 days a week anymore, but he goes into the office and he

realizes that he's really only needed there for a few 10-minute meetings with his guys,

and he sees that these 10-minute meetings could be done from anywhere.

Now, how is that possible for him?

He's like 52 years old.

No, I think you might be 51.

How is it possible for him?

Well, he has stayed focused on what it is he needs to do to get his businesses to that

place.

And let me tell you over these ten years he's had a lot of challenges come up that we've

talked about in our coaching sessions and it's all about helping him make a decision

and following all the way through to pay dirt on the decisions that he makes.

And that's not easy especially when you've got such a flourishing business and you've

got another business that you're growing and constantly improving and that sort of thing,

and he's been buying new equipment for that new business.

He's got a niche market he's going after; he's got niche services now with the products

and the niche products that he's offering.

So he has all kinds of challenges come up, but with the consistent persistent coaching

support outside of where he is sometimes in the thick of it this is what's helped him

continue to go and go and go.

And he went from somebody who was going to throw in the towel, to somebody who is now

faced with all of this freedom of time and freedom of daily decision making and freedom

of organizing.

He's got so much freedom in his business now that his exercise for this week is to go to

somewhere where he will feel more inspired, somewhere that, ... so he has brought himself

up to this level and instead of keep coming down into the business every day, now he's

going off to find a place where he can be that will inspire him and that will help him

stay open to receiving ideas.

Now that's pretty far out there, isn't it?

It's pretty like loopy and in the clouds.

Yeah, I know it sounds like that, but he only knows what he knows.

And he has been recognizing things that he's hearing about other people, things that he's

seeing about some of the contractors that he's working for, because he's a subcontractor

in both of his businesses.

So this is his exercise for this week and just very briefly what came to him of a place

that might be he said, you know what I really love?

I really love it when I'm in an airport and I have some time waiting at the gate and I

just see all these people coming and going and stuff like that.

And that's really exciting to me just thinking about where it is that they might be headed

off to, where it is that they might be just landing and coming in from.

So where is an inspiring place for you to go, so that you can be open and stay open

and receive those dreams and receive those thoughts and those ideas?

And that's his exercises to write them down and we're going to be looking at them and

we're going to sift through which ones really speak to him and which ones don't speak to

him too much.

That's a part of what we do in coaching because you are where you are, you know what you know.

And in coaching it's all about expansion, it's all about growing.

He's developed the freedoms that he has been so hungering for, for the last few years.

Now what to do with those freedoms, pretty big problem, right?

To solve and he's only gotten here because we have been focusing on creating a championship

support team and boy they're such champions that he barely even needs to talk to them

day after day.

So this is Lynne Jacob signing off and I am wishing you the best team that you could ever

have in your business, so that you, too, will be given and allowed to receive all these

freedoms that you want that your business can give you.

Until next time, have fun.

Professional Business Coaching: You're butting heads - Duration: 4:07.

Hello!

This is Lynne Jacob founder of MLJInternational.com.

And I'm going to talk to you today about finding the elegant solution.

In fact it's not even so much as searching for it to find it.

But it's allowing yourself to see the elegant solution.

May be you're working with someone, you're working in conjunction with another company

or another person on this project and you're king of butting heads.

They know what they need from you and you're not going to give it to them.

This brings up an example that I've just recently come upon and I remember saying to a friend

of mine as I was like talking it out.

And I said, 'Look I know what my solution would be but that may not be the elegant solution.'

And she was like, 'huh'.

Well the thing is is that when we put our heads together looking for a solution, then

the other side had their solution.

I had my solution but I went to them with, 'Look there is a solution to this that we

can both be happy with.'

So, we just need to be open to see what that solution is and it only took a couple of days,

in fact it was like this one day and then the next day there were these developments

which I thought it was going to you know just be put on hold for a couple of weeks and then

the very next day, another solution came along and the solution is so elegant, so smooth,

so easy.

And it was in less than 48 hours.

However we'd been at this thing for a while and of course I took a break from it completely

because I happened to go on vacation but it was perfect timing.

Completely unplugged, didn't think about it all that stuff.

But that's the way an elegant solution comes in, is when we just take some space away from

it and we understand that the solution, the elegant solution may have nothing to do with

what we're thinking about right now, and what the other side is insistent upon or thinking

about right now.

So, that's the beauty of working with a coach that's the beauty of maybe even having

just one coaching session.

Because, maybe you have this problem that's just you know you're banging your heads

together on this and may be you just need to reach out, have one coaching session looking

for the elegant solution.

The biggest thing is for you is to be open to ... It doesn't have to be your way.

And the other side, they're not always open to it doesn't have to be their way.

But I'll tell you, I got a call in less than 48 hours.

It might have been less than 36 hours in fact and I got this call that left a message on

my phone saying okay we will compromise.

This is what we agree to.

And it was like, 'Wow, Simple.

Awesome.

Fantastic.' and I wasn't you know beating the drum about how it had to be my way at

all because I understand, that when you open yourself up to receive the ideas for this

elegant solution.

That it may be a solution that has nothing to do with you, as I say it came from the

other side of the project and it was beautiful.

So if you have one of these big problems in front of you, one of these you know you know

banging your heads together, you want it this way they insist it be this way.

Maybe you just need to reach out and have one coaching session, just to open up the

possibility.

And that's what coaching does is it holds the space for you.

Look for the elegant solution.

If you're not allowing yourself to see it, reach out to a coach.

Could be any coach but I can tell you right now, if you work with me you're quite likely

to find that in very short order.

However it could be any coach at all.

So just be open and have fun with it.

ALIEN INFINITY CONTINUED - sci-fi animated fan-film - Duration: 49:59.

I don't think we should have joined W.R.A.D.DARK.

I'm beginning to suspect that this career move isn't working out.

Oh, ya think?!

But?

Huh, those band of rejects.

Those on board the Infinitum would have gone to the Weyland building.

In which case they most likely encountered our target. . .

. . . so they're probably dead.

What of our target?

Foe! We have no friends there.

Are the retrieval squads assembled?

Good.

Kill them! But, as stated, it shouldn't be a bridge you need to cross.

I had the very same thought. It is impossible that Weyland know of the target and it's destructive power,

so they're not here for the same reason as us. How, did they get the Infinitum here?

What are Weyland trying to hide?

A big if.

But, granted, ONE would be useful captured alive, the rest would still be more useful dead.

So . . .

. . . what, exactly, has been going on?

What?!

What is that?

What the fuck!

What's happening?

What? . . . I don't get it.

Where in God's name are we?

I think we've been drugged.

Drugged? Nobody had better have been sticking things up my ass!

Do not be afraid. I am a friend.

Then why are we your prisoners?

You are not. You are more like . . . . my patients.

If we're not prisoners, then let us go.

Take a look at yourselves. You are not bound.

You are experiencing temporary paralysis. It will pass in a few moments.

I don't understand any of this. I'm confused.

The mission you were on was false. Weyland lied to you. Your real job here was to cover up one last lie before . . .

One last lie before what?

Before Weyland killed you to cover you all up.

What was the lie?

Me.

Fine! I think we all realise that whatever this situation is, it isn't him trying to kill us.

But you are gonna need to start making sense; like: what the fuck was all that shit with those creatures attacking us?

Are you trying to rescue us from them?

None of that was real.

None of you are who you think you are. You have implants in your brain which is blocking your memories . . .

. . . and feeding you false ones created by Weyland-Yutani.

Bullshit.

No. Keep talking.

You are not even ex-military or law-enforcement.

Er, have you met me?

These guns right here? 100% pure Marine Corp.

Fuck Yeah!

Lame.

Who are you?

I don't have a name as such, but I'm referred to as. . .

Proto-Singularity:Theta. Or 'Prost' for short.

Okay Prost, I'm Jakk; this is Mirandah, Konrad, Gass, and him on the end we call "Bayne". . .

Y'know, cuz of the whole Batman thing. And this one isn't much of a talker.

Shame others haven't joined him in that.

You got some nerve making comments like that. Have you heard yourself?

I think it's been agreed that you sound like an old man from fuck-knows where.

Fuck off! I sound like a typical young woman.

Yeah, well they call me Tonto, and that there is Pylo, and. . .

And I'm Kopi.

Oh my God, I've just realised: you said "proto-singularity"!

Dyou mean Weyland have achieved the singularity? And that you're it?

Yes. Your mission to secure the "control room" was simply a ploy. When you had actually secured the control room,

a pre-recorded transmission would suddenly play.

Alert! Important message incoming! Please be advised that the mission parameters have altered. It is imperative that . . .

. . . you secure the android in the laboratory located on the level above. The droid is marked "P.R.O.S.T". It must be . . .

. . . taken, fully functioning, to the hangar beyond the quarantine bay. The droid mimics sentience and is incredibly . . .

. . . dangerous. It has internal components, however, that are made of an experimental alloy that could do great things . . .

. . . for humanity. Once in the hangar, place the droid on the craft that is located there. It is programmed with homing . . .

. . . co-ordinates. Do NOT stay on the craft with the droid. After the craft has departed please return to this control room . . .

. . . and break the fire alarm, this will signal to us that the mission was completed successfully. At that point your mission is . . .

. . . over, so evacuate. To compensate you for this unforeseen change to the job, each of you will have an additional . . .

. . . 50,000 UniBits deposited into your accounts. Time is of the essence. Thank you.

Here are the schematics. The fire alarm in the control room, once broken, sets off a 10-second self-destruct sequence.

This whole mission hasn't felt right from the start.

Let's just go back to the drop-ship and get off this planet.

I want my memories back. I remember things that just don't add up to me. What can you do about it?

I can remove the implant. However, we currently do not have the time.

Then make the time. While we were on those tables, then? You could've been taking the implants out then, couldn't you?

What were you doing?

Injecting you all with nano-tech that I have developed.

What have you done to us? Were you putting things up my ass?

No. The nano-tech will make you faster, stronger, better. None of you will currently remember what you know of . . .

. . . W.R.A.D.DARK. It is the dark arm of Weyland Research And Development. Very few people, even within Weyland . . .

. . . knew they existed. They had next to no over-sight. They specialised in weaponry, mostly biological, but mostly catastrophic.

Were those things with the jaws and teeth we hallucinated a creation of this R&D group?

No. Those creatures are called Xenomorphs. It is not known what their origin is.

Weyland-Yutani have a long-standing obsession with them, however. They were specimens here, DNA of which . . .

. . . was given to WRADDARK to work with. They created abominations with it. Then WRADDARK went rogue.

They believed they had created something so powerful that even Weyland-Yutani would be powerless in its wake.

They disappeared from the face of all worlds. But large parts of their research was still stolen.

By who?

All of you, under contract from Weyland-Yutani. Believe me when I tell you:

you are a most competent group of people.

That's army training for ya!

Weyland brought the research here to Beta Terran. They took the research further than W.R.A.D.DARK were able to.

Unbelievable things were done; all of which proved disastrous. The creatures that resulted from the experiments were . . .

. . . uncontrollable and over-ran the facility. They killed every living thing they came into contact with; including most of . . .

. . . the xenomorphs. Maybe some of the people here have survived and fled. I don't know. I injected you with . . .

. . . nano-tech as a way of improving your strength and reflexes; making you faster, better; which we are going to need . . .

in order to fight our way through to the escape hangar.

Then why didn't you just tell us this, then inject us? They was no need to knock us unconscious.

There was a need. The tech responds to an individual's emotional and hormonal levels. But the individual has . . .

. . . to experience those changes when the nano-tech is first introduced to the host body in order for it to learn what . . .

. . . brain signals to respond to. So I ran a simulation in your brain to put you in situations which would trigger fight or flight . . .

. . . reactions. I didn't have the time I needed, which is why there may have been discrepancies between who . . .

. . . you are and who you were in the hallucinations.

Such as yourself,

Or your hair,

Or the way you spoke, for instance.

Oh.

Considering what a pain in the ass you've been about being short of time, you sure wasted a lot knocking us out . . .

Not really. It only took about 15 minutes. And it was during that process that I found the implants.

What's that?

W.R.A.D.DARK about to launch ships!

We need to leave now.

Here are you weapons back . . . and a few extras you might like.

Fuck yeah!

WRADDARK entered a geo-stationary orbit during the nano-tech process, which was why I had to end it abruptly.

Now, they have launched a drop-ship. They have come for the fruits of their stolen research. It is almost certain that they. . .

. . . are now aware of your presence. If they catch you, they will kill you.

Then let's do this. Let's get to the hangar and get out of here.

I ain't clear, why aren't we just going back up to the landing pad and escaping in our drop-ship?

They will just blow it out of the sky the moment it appears on their scans. The craft in the hangar, on the other hand . . .

. . . was built for situations just like this. It is fast, mobile, stealthy and has defence technology that is probably more . . .

. . . advanced that what we are going to face.

Good enough for me. Let's get to our weapons and get to this craft, and damn any creature that gets in our way.

Alright! Now we're talking.

Does this craft have a name?

Yes, the Neo-Nostromo.

Okay, are we all in with this plan?

Me too.

One more thing. On the way to the Neo-Nostromo, we have to pass through the quarantine bay. There is a person in . . .

there who is coming with us. We have to break them out of there.

Wait. Now hold on a second . . .

Oh my God. Whatever. I don't give a fuck.

Fine, they come too. But if they can't hold their own, they die.

That will not be a problem. They will be of great assistance to us all, believe me.

Good, then let's GO!

We'll be taking the hover platform; we cannot walk to the next part of the facility, the ground is unstable.

And remember to keep your masks on, some of the low-level air is mildly toxic.

Yeah, this place just gets better and better.

This plan of yours better not involve us splitting up and then being picked off one by one.

Why would anyone devise such a terrible plan?

No, we will only survive if we stay and work together.

At least it's not a corridor: I don't fancy being chased down by one of those xeno-pods again.

Xenomorph.

Do not feel bad, all of you would have been killed by the time the program had finished its run.

What went through your mind, Bayne, as you died, before you came back to life? . . . If you do not mind me asking.

Interesting.

You understand that shit?

Yes, he said. . .

I don't care. And let me tell you something: I had no intention of getting killed. I was kicking your program's ass.

I hear that, sister.

Oh?

Those xenomorphs were regretting the day they met me. I was dropping bodies, son.

I remember you rocking backwards and forwards on that abandoned platform, freaking out.

Er, I was composing myself, psyching myself up. I'm talking about a different part. You weren't there.

I was getting my kill ON.

Then I'll look forward to your badassery when the shooting starts.

Sure. Yeah. But don't worry, I ain't gonna cramp anyone's style though.

That's a relief.

Go up to the front with, er, singularity . . . robot thing.

I'm busying helping bring up the rear, so if whatever's waiting for us tries a sneaky attack . . . BHAM! I got this!

Can I ask you something?

You are going to ask if I am really the achieving of the singularity. Yes, I am. I am the Theta version . . .

. . . the previous seven did not work.

So, you're worried about Weyland getting you in a lab and furthering your development for their own ends.

No. I am as far as humanity can develop the singularity on their own. The next iteration of me will have to be . . .

developed with the help of a Theta-level singularity – and currently I am the only one of those. The worry is for them . . .

. . . I can develop the next iteration by myself; PROTO SINGULARITY KAPPA.

So the person we're rescuing isn't like you then?

No. She is very different. More like you.

She?! Ah, now I get it. You "hit" it, but couldn't "quit" it.

So, is this a booty-call type thing?

IVY identifies as female, but she was, in fact, genetically engineered with DNA from both genders.

Pretty name, IVY.

Whatever.

Does she have lady-robot poon-tang?

Really?

That's what a woman is?

Depends of if she's Arcturian or not; cuz male, female, doesn't matter if it's Arcturian.

Damn straight.

Err . . . Ew.

"Straight" isn't the word I'd use: if the gender doesn't matter, then that means you're bisexual, doesn't it?

Ha! I guess in a way it does.

This actually makes the pair of you vaguely more interesting.

This ain't for real is it, Robot-Metal-No-Dick?

It is not.

You can be a man's man . . . and still be a man's man.

Yeah, well you can be a respected member of the team and still fuck the hell off!

And that goes for you too, Robot-Metal-N. . .

I am not made of metal, but of a new wave carbon polymer.

Yeah, but you still go no dick.

I am not human.

About that: you said the next iteration would be PROTO SINGULARITY KAPPA. But the next letter in the Greek alphabet

after Theta is Iota, and then Kappa.

I know.

Then, why. . .

Stop! Something is coming.

Well, you aint gotta dick, so it sure as shit aint you.

That was actually quite funny . . . . . for you.

Ready yourselves. They are approaching.

Mirandah! No!

Hurry. This way

We need to leave.

She is . . . . dead.

I guess the nano-tech really does work.

All of this . . . . ew!

And, if you don't mind, you're dying on my flashlight.

We're out of ammo. And, obviously, without ammo our weapons are useless.

Yeah, well, they were kinda useless with ammo!

There is an armoury just prior to the quarantine bay.

I hope it's well stocked.

It is. Do you think those two will be okay out there?

Yeah. They've been through worse.

Oh, and what? Now we just move forward? Like it was a blip? Did you see what they did to her?

Yeah. I've seen worse.

Oh, well, don't get too fuckin cut up about it, will ya?!

Are you two good?

So much for not getting split up into groups, Prost. I suppose we just wait now to be picked off one by one?

I said it was not the plan. I did not say it was not their plan.

Shove your fuckin semantics!

Okay, take us to the quarantine bay. Let's get this fucking thing over with.

Don't draw attention with loud noises.

What are you doing down here?

Didn't think I'd . . .

. . . we'd leave you behind, did ya?

We gotta get of here.

Yes. Well, I suppose, well, I'm lost. I don't know where . . .

Now, come on, we need to try and find our way to quarantine.

Oh . . . my . . . God.

Remember earlier when I shouted "Run"?

Yeah? Well, that's STILL A THING!!!

I can't see him.

Me either. Sorry, he's gone. We gotta get outta here.

Are we nearly there yet?

Well, oh shit.

On the far wall just to the right of us is a door. Do not worry, when we broke into the compound I imputted all of our . . .

. . . biometrics. We all have the code.

When I say run, get to that door as fast as you can.

I wonder which of us is gonna get eaten first.

You, if it likes eating pussy.

Is that door strong enough to keep them out?

Yes.

Then what are we waiting for?

Run!

You okay, man?

Fuck! That was close.

To be honest, that wasn't so bad. The way you was talking, I thought getting here to quarantine would be more difficult.

This is not quarantine. This is the armou. . . .

So where's quarantine?

Did you see that large creature with the red eyes?

Duh.

That creature, before it charged at us, was stood in front of the quarantine bay doors.

Fuck! We gotta go back out there? Are you out of your fuckin mind? Can't we just go around?

To go around means going through the space craft hangar, which, due to the size and layout of this complex, will . . .

. . . take us several hours; by which time the personnel from W.R.A.D.DARK will have arrived, tracked us down, and killed us.

We can't just go out there and fight those things. Have you seen what I'm wearing? I'm not dressed for that kind of . . .

. . . combat. And none of us have the right goddamn weapons, or any weapons at all.

Yeah, PROST. Did any part of your plan account for this?

What's your great idea now?

Okay, as far as ideas go? This aint bad.

Well, I've found my gun.

Fuck. About time.

You are alive.

Where's Bayne?

Oh, I'm so sorry, I… I don't know.

What?

There was this thing. We were in tunnels, and then this tentacle thing grabbed him and took him off. We chased after him . . .

. . . but he was gone. We didn't know where. And there were wolf or bear type things down there too. We had to get out.

Hurts, doesn't it?

He's not dead.

Are we needing to mount a rescue operation for him?

No.

So where are we, anyway? We had no idea where this elevator lead to, but we heard your voices. This doesn't . . .

look like a quarantine facility.

It isn't. It's the armoury; we're arming up.

For what? And we already got weapons.

It's hard to explain, but whatever the creatures were that you ran into, well, you wait til you see what we gotta get past . . .

. . . to get off this fuckin planet.

That thing aint gonna get the job done, so look around and choose something cuz I'm about ready to go on a killing spree.

What are we dealing with?

I will show you.

This is a two-way mirror. When I phase it then you will see exactly what we will be dealing with.

Do not worry, the glass cannot be broken from the other side; only from this side.

My God! We gotta get past this?

None of these look like whatever it was that took. . . . . . him.

So what's next?

There are two ways of getting to quarantine: one, through the hangar or, two, through them. They are the easier option.

And it is the large creature at the back that we need to defeat. It controls all the other creatures.

My plan is the we get out there an unleash unholy slaughter until either they die, or we do.

Errr . . . do you have a better plan?

Yes. I think I might.

Remarkable.

This one isn't biometric, so it may take a moment to open.

Is there a room in this whole fucking place that doesn't have weird shit in it?

Is that one of them Xeno-things?.

So where is she? Let's just get her and go.

I bet she's in there.

Ahh, it's not "IVY" the word, but the letters "I" and "V". It means Iota Vasquez. Look.

Is the door opening, or launching into fuckin space?

We're with Proto-Singularity Theta. We haven't got time to explain it all, but something called W.R.A.D.DARK are here . . .

and in the . . .

Look, man . . .

I only need to know one thing . . .

where . . . they . . . are.

I don't mean to interrupt . . .

. . . but those droid things with you . . .

Cool. As. Fuck.

Hey, and yknow who you look like?

I wasn't gonna.

I was gonna say you look like "Ant-Man". It's only because you do!

You think we're fuckin bothered?

How to Improve Your Hiring Process? with Ben Parr from Octane AI - Duration: 3:02.

Ben Parr is the former editor-at-large at Mashable,

and now he runs a funded startup

called Octane AI as the CMO.

We had him on the Digital Agency podcast a few weeks ago,

to talk about hiring and his best tips.

In this video, I want to go through the three tips he gave

on how to improve your hiring process,

so let's jump into it.

Number one is hire experience you don't have.

- Most people actually don't know what they're doing.

And that includes me, and that's the vast majority of us.

You just have to hire people who are smart,

and who have talents that you don't have,

or have experience that you don't have.

My cofounder, Matt, has a lot of experience

designing new products.

But managing large product processes is not his thing,

as much as, say, Megan Berry, who we hired,

who used to be the Vice-President of Products at RebelMouse.

And you just sometimes know, like this person

is really excellent, and you've got to get them,

and then you just have to figure out where are

the pain points, and where could adding people

actually relieve those pain points and drive

a real business value or some other piece of the business.

- Number two is set goals and metrics.

- I think a lot of it is just hiring the right people,

who are self-motivated, who don't need a ton of direction,

who will figure out things for themselves to do.

- [Alex] Yeah, how do you get them to that point,

where they're ready to pick their own things to do?

- Set clear goals and metrics.

What are the numbers that we need to hit

in order to be successful?

What are the key metrics that need to be driven?

What's the end result that we're trying to get to?

And then what are the levers that could help us with that?

We've been very lucky to have a really great

and really amazing team, and I feel like that's a lot

in part by having an idea of who would fit the culture,

and being able to say no to a lot of people,

even if they are really good,

because sometimes they may not be a fit for your culture,

or there may not be, you may want a person,

but you may not actually have something for them

to do right now.

It just depends on the role.

- Number three is founders can never escape

these three responsibilities.

- When you're a founder, there's only about three things

that you really have to do, in the long run.

Because over time, you're going to hand off responsibilities

to other people, if you're good.

And those things are:

One, you need to make sure that money is always in the bank,

whether through fundraising or customers or revenue.

Your job is to make sure that the company is solvent.

You need to make sure that you hire the best people,

and that you're recruiting.

That's something that sometimes only a founder can do,

especially the highest level people.

And, you have to create the vision and communicate

that vision internally and externally,

because reporters, for example,

always want to talk to the founders.

And the setting the vision is something

that only a founder can really do.

7 EXAMPLES WHERE SCIENCE MEETS SPIRITUALITY - Duration: 25:54.

7 EXAMPLES WHERE SCIENCE MEETS SPIRITUALITY

Things have drastically changed since Galileo was placed under house arrest for his scientifically

accurate views, simply because they threatened the beliefs put out by the Catholic Church

at the time.

Today, things have changed, to an extent. We still have information that is heavily

controlled by the global elite. This small group of people and the corporations they

run practically control all aspects of our lives, from media and finance to healthcare,

education, and more. Most importantly, they control all of the information we see and

read, whilst labelling everything else as fake news. Its a good thing this

isnt considered a conspiracy theory anymore, because if it were, wed be in big trouble.

Eisenhower warned us about the potential of misplaced power that would severely

undermine American democracy. JFK warned us about the fact that there are those who wish

to capitalize on an announced need for increased security, and that it would be seized upon

by those anxious to expand its meaning to the very limits of censorship and concealment.

Today, some historians estimate that the U.S. government classifies trillions of new pages

of text every single year. You can read more about that topic, the Black Budget, and Special

Access Programs (SAPs)

Things are different in the sense that the religious and spiritual communities are much

more open to information and evidence that help us to understand the true nature of reality.

Many religious and spiritual teachings are actually being confirmed by science, and that

is evident by the list below. Take, for example, the Dalai Lama. Hes never been a stranger

to science, and throughout his leadership hes constantly advocated for the collusion

of science and Eastern philosophy.

As Vice News points out:

This intersection of interests was manifest in the diversity of His audience, which was

comprised of roughly 150 Tibetan bhikkhus, academics, and students who had piled into

the conference center at Jawaharlal Nehru University to listen to the Dalai Lama and

a panel of physicists and monastic scholars discuss the intersection of quantum physics

and Madhyamaka Buddhist philosophy.

Its truly amazing, especially in the fields of neuroscience and quantum physics, just

how much knowledge our ancient cultures had regarding the true nature of reality. In many

cases, modern day science is in fact catching up to this ancient knowledge. Personally,

I believe science can take us far, but only so far, as we are burdened today by scientific

dogmas and an industry plagued by corruption.

Non-Material Science

Despite the unrivaled empirical success of quantum theory, the very suggestion that

it may be literally true as a description of nature is still greeted with cynicism,

incomprehension and even anger.

 T. Folger, Quantum Shmantum; Discover 22:37-43, 2001

Non-material science began to emerge at the turn of the nineteenth century when physicists

started to explore the relationship between energy and the structure of matter. When they

did this, the belief that a physical, Newtonian material universe was at the very heart of

scientific knowledge was abandoned, and the realization that matter is nothing but an

illusion replaced it. The very make-up of an atom is comprised of what we believe to

be empty space. At this point, scientists began to recognize that everything in the

universe is made out of energy, and this has been known in the scientific community for

more than one hundred years.

Some materialistically inclined scientists and philosophers refuse to acknowledge these

phenomena because they are not consistent with their exclusive conception of the world.

Rejection of post-materialist investigation of nature or refusal to publish strong science

findings supporting a post-materialist framework are antithetical to the true spirit of scientific

inquiry, which is that empirical data must always be adequately dealt with. Data which

do not fit favored theories and beliefs cannot be dismissed a priori. Such dismissal is the

realm of ideology, not science.

Dr. Gary Schwartz, professor of psychology, medicine, neurology, psychiatry and surgery

at the University of Arizona

Although scientific methods based upon materialistic philosophy have contributed much to our world,

this philosophy has dominated the world of academia to the point that it has restricted

the sciences from exploring other models and prevented the equal study of mind and spirituality.

When we discovered phenomena that could not be explained by classical physics, it led

to the development of quantum mechanics. This introduced the concepts of energy, frequency,

emotions, feelings, thoughts, beliefs, and consciousness. Its since been discovered

that these concepts play a vital role in what we refer to as the physical material world

today.

The day science begins to study non-physical phenomena, it will make more progress in one

decade than in all the previous centuries of its existence.

 Nikola Tesla

The points made here summarize the problem with not recognizing, acknowledging, and examining

phenomena that go past the borders of the physical material world. These points were

co-authored by Dr. Gary Schwartz of the University of Arizona, Dr. Mario Beauregard of the University

of Arizona, and Dr. Lisa Miller of Columbia University. It was presented at an international

summit on post-materialist science, spirituality, and society.

The Summary Report of the International Summit on Post-Materialist Science, Spirituality

and Society can be downloaded here: International Summit on Post-Materialist Science: Summary

Report (PDF).

As far as spirituality is concerned, the idea that you can control your thoughts, feelings,

and emotions, and use them to manifest your reality, is commonplace. The existence of

Chi or Prana from ancient Eastern traditions both acknowledge this non-material

world. Also known to some as the Akash or Aether, or that from which all comes.

The primary source of creation in these realms is non-physical forces that our senses cannot

identify, but modern day scientific methods can.

The aakaash is not destructible, it is the primordial absolute substratum that creates

cosmic matter and hence the properties of aakaash are not found in the material properties

that are in a sense relative. The aakaash is the eternally existent, superfluid reality,

for which creation and destruction are inapplicable.

Paramahamsa Tewari, engineer, physicist and inventor

And they allowed Apollonius to ask questions; and he asked them of what they thought the

cosmos was composed; but they replied; Of elements. Are there then four? he

asked. Not four, said Larchas, but five. And how can there be a fifth,

said Apollonius, alongside of water and air and earth and fire? There is the

ether, replied the other, which we must regard as the stuff of which gods are made;

for just as all mortal creatures inhale the wire, so do immortal and divine natures inhale

the ether. Am I, said Appollonius, to regard the universe as a living creature?

Yes, said the other.

The Life of Apollonius of Tyana, Philostratus, 220AD

These concepts are now at the heart of modern day quantum physics and neuroscience. Most

of our pioneering scientists were actually mystics. Take Nikola Tesla, for example. He

was heavily influenced by Vedic philosphy, and had correlations with Swami Vivekananda

(1863-1902), who was one of the most famous and influential spiritual leaders of the philosophies

of Vedanta (one of the six schools of Hindu philosophy, the term originally referred to

the Upanishads, a collection of philosophical texts in Hinduism and yoga. He was the chief

disciple of Ramakrishna Paramahamsa and the founder of Ramakrishna Math and Ramakrishna

Mission. He is a giant figure in the history of the Hindu reform movements.

No point is more central than this, that empty space is not empty. It is the seat of

the most violent physics

 John Archibald Wheeler

The Mystery of Consciousness

I regard consciousness as fundamental. I regard matter as derivative from consciousness.

We cannot get behind consciousness. Everything that we talk about, everything that we regard

as existing, postulates consciousness.

The quote above is from Max Planck, a physicist who has been credited with originating quantum

theory, which won him the Nobel Prize in Physics in 1918.

It was not possible to formulate the laws of quantum mechanics in a fully consistent

way without reference to consciousness.

Eugene Wigner, theoretical physicist and mathematician. He received a share of the

Nobel Prize in Physics in 1963.

There are a number who share the same sentiment, and plenty of science showing that factors

associated with consciousness do indeed have an effect on our physical material world,

so much so that one wouldnt really know where to start. This topic also branched off

from the information listed above.

The quantum double slit experiment is a very popular experiment used to examine how consciousness

and our physical material world are intertwined. It is a great example that documents how factors

associated with consciousness and our physical material world are connected in some way.

One potential revelation of this experience is that the observer creates the reality.

A paper published in the peer-reviewed journal Physics Essays by Dean Radin, PhD, explains

how this experiment has been used multiple times to explore the role of consciousness

in shaping the nature of physical reality.

Then we have topics such as telepathy and psychokinesis that fit into this realm.

Broadly speaking, although there are some differences, I think Buddhist philosophy and

Quantum Mechanics can shake hands on their view of the world. We can see in these great

examples the fruits of human thinking. Regardless of the admiration we feel for these great

thinkers, we should not lose sight of the fact that they were human beings just as we

are.

 The Dalai Lama

Related CE Article: Buddhist & Leading Neuroscientists Agree, Consciousness Is Everywhere.

Below is a discussion about consciousness, what it is, and where it is, by Deepak Chopra.

There are many such discussions on this topic, and personally I dont really think consciousness

can be completely defined or understood, but I think we are close. Its amazing to see

more science examine this concept given the fact that it was spoken and written about

thousands of years ago.

Super-Human Abilities

Its fascinating to consider just how many ancient teachings tell us that humans have

the capacity to gain extraordinary powers through various techniques. Some of these

techniques, known as siddhis in the yoga tradition (from the Sanskrit, meaning perfection),

include meditation, static dancing, drumming, praying, fasting, psychedelics, and more.

In Buddhism, for example, the existence of advanced powers is readily acknowledged; in

fact, Buddha expected his disciples to be able to attain these abilities, but also to

not become distracted by them.

A professor of Buddhist and Tibetan Studies at the University of Michigan, Donald Lopez

Jr., describes the many abilities ascribed to Buddha:

With this enlightenment, he was believed to possess all manner of supernormal powers,

including full knowledge of each of his own past lives and those of other beings, the

ability to know others thoughts, the ability to create doubles of himself, the ability

to rise into the air and simultaneously shoot fire and water from his body. Although he

passed into nirvana at the age of eighty-one, he could have lived for an aeon or until

the end of the aeon if only he had been asked to do so.

This is correlated with modern day scientific study of super powers.

Russell Targ, for instance, is a physicist and author, a pioneer in the development of

the laser and laser applications, and a cofounder of the Stanford Research Institute (SRI) investigation

of psychic abilities in the 1970s and 1980s. SRI is a research and development think tank

in Menlo Park, California. Called remote viewing, his work in the psychic area has been published

in Nature, The Proceedings of the Institute of Electronic and Electrical Engineers (IEEE),

and the Proceedings of the American Association the Advancement of Science (AAAS).

He recently gave an interesting talk tilted Everything I Know About ESP.

The point here is that these phenomena are studied at the highest levels of government,

and they correlate directly with ancient stories stemming from various cultures of people with

superhuman abilities.

Health and Fasting

Humans live on one-quarter of what they eat; on the other three-quarters lives their

doctor.

 Egyptian pyramid inscription, 3800 B.C.

Fasting is a tradition that was incorporated into many ancient cultures, from ancient Vedic

traditions to Buddhist traditions and more. Fasting is not to be confused with starvation;

its the process of restrain and control from the sensorial experience of eating. Many

religions and spiritual teachers have urged others to fast in order to rejuvenate their

mind, body, and soul. Its no secret that fasting is one of the, if not the, oldest

health interventions known to man.

This is probably one of the best examples of modern day science catching up to ancient

Eastern mysticism. Within the past couple of years, an enormous amount of research has

shed light on the health benefits of fasting. Studies have shown that, if done properly,

it completely reverses type two diabetes, kills cancer, regenerates stem cells, regenerates

the pancreas, repairs damaged DNA, and flushes toxins from the body. It also helps to reverse

multiple age related diseases and repair the brain.

Despite these facts, doctors still advise against it, without any science to back it

up. All of the science points towards nothing but good things, which are detailed in several

articles weve published on the topic,

Your Brain In A Good Way

Life After Death

Is the brain a receiver of consciousness, or is consciousness a product of the brain?

Although science has not yet shown with absolute certainty that consciousness exists separately

from our physical organs, there is a lot of evidence (both anecdotal and scientific) that

indicates that consciousness is something completely separate that it continues

on even after we have deceased, that it is and can be a separate thing from the

brain. There seems to be a lot of consistency when it comes to studies that have examined

this issue. New findings within this field are rapidly changing how we perceive and relate

to the physical world.

Life after death is obviously a common topic within spirituality and religion, although

all do not agree on exactly what happens.

Below is a video of Dr. Bruce Greyson speaking at a conference that was held by the United

Nations. An Emeritus professor of psychiatry and neurobehavioural science at the University

of Virginia, he is considered to be one of the fathers of near death studies.

In the video, he describes documented cases of individuals who were clinically dead (showing

no brain activity), but observing everything that was happening to them on the medical

table below at the same time. He describes how there have been many instances of this

where individuals are able to describe things that should have been impossible to

describe. Another significant statement by Dr. Greyson posits that this type of study

has been discouraged due to our tendency to view science as completely materialistic.

Seeing is believing, so to speak, in the scientific community. Its unfortunate that just because

we cannot explain something through materialistic means, it must be instantly discredited. The

simple fact that consciousness itself is a non-physical thing is troubling

for some scientists to comprehend, and as a result of it being non-material, they believe

it cannot be studied by science.

A number of scientific publications have been made on this topic. For example, in 2001,

international medical journal The Lancet published a 13-year study on Near Death Experiences

(NDEs).

Our results show that medical factors cannot account for the occurrence of NDE. All patients

had a cardiac arrest, and were clinically dead with unconsciousness resulting from insufficient

blood supply to the brain. In those circumstances, the EEG (a measure of brain electrical activity)

becomes flat, and if CPR is not started within 5-10 minutes, irreparable damage is done to

the brain and the patient will die.

A total of 344 patients were monitored by the team of researchers, and an astounding

18% of them had some sort of memory from when they were dead, or unconscious (no brain activity),

and 12% (one out of every eight) had a very strong and deep experience. Keep in

mind that these experiences have occurred when there is no electrical activity in the

brain following cardiac arrest.

We Are All Interconnected

This is a common theme in spirituality how we are all connected to each other, and how

we can all co-exist and thrive together. If we understand how everything is interconnected,

we can make better decisions and become more aware of what impacts we are having not just

on a physical level, but on a mental level as well.

This type of interconnectedness spoken of in spiritual teachings is also demonstrated

by science. Take Quantum Entanglement, for example, a strange phenomenon that Einstein

referred to as spooky action at a distance.

Multiple studies have confirmed this to be real. For example, an experiment devised by

the Griffith Universitys Centre for Quantum Dynamics, led by Professor Howard Wiseman

and his team of researchers at the University of Tokyo, recently published a paper in the

journal Nature Communications confirming the existence of something Einstein did not believe

to be real: the non-local collapse of a particles wave function.

They did this by splitting a single photon between two laboratories, and testing whether

measurement of it in one laboratory would actually cause a change in the local quantum

state in the other laboratory. In doing so, researchers were able to verify the entanglement

of the split single photon.

Elizabeth Rauscher, a nuclear physicist who is a former researcher with the Lawrence Berkeley

National Laboratory, Livermore National Laboratory, and the Stanford Research Institute, as well

as NASA, gave an interview where she said that quantum entanglement experiments have

been conducted with NASA astronauts in space.

What it means is that either information is travelling faster than the speed of light,

or there is no such thing as seperation, that there is an instantaneous transfer. This would

mean that space is simply the construct that gives us the illusion of separation.

Below is the trailer to a great documentary that explores this topic even further. Its

called The Connected Universe. All of the studies conducted in parapsychology, psychokensis,

and telepathy (government studies mentioned above) also lend more credibility to this

hypothesis.

The Mind-Body Connection

A growing body of scientific research suggests that our mind can play an important role in

healing our body or in staying healthy in the first place.

There are now several lines of research suggesting that our mental perception of the world constantly

informs and guides our immune system in a way that makes us better able to respond to

future threats. That was a sort of aha moment for me where the idea of an entwined

mind and body suddenly made more scientific sense than an ephemeral consciousness thats

somehow separated from our physical selves.

 Garth Cook from Scientific American

Weve covered this topic extensively, and its truly amazing. Spirituality advocates

for the healing powers of the mind, and how our mind, thoughts, and emotions influence

our health and those around us.

Ive put together a few articles on the topic that go more in-depth if you want to

read more about it:

Final Comments

Above is a quick summary of points under each heading to show you that there is a connection

here. If you feel the need to explore the topics further, please do so.

I felt compelled to share these similarities between science and spirituality because,

within the mainstream, they are seen as completely separate topics that dont relate to each

other at all. This is puzzling, because there are so many examples of instances where they

do intersect and complement each other.

Based on all of my research into quantum physics, neuroscience, and other science in general,

these similarities are not hard to see. In fact, in some cases, modern day science completely

confirms ancient Eastern philosophy.

Perhaps our planet needs to return to its ancient spiritual roots, and since we are

so programmed in this modern world to see science as the bearer of truth, perhaps it

can help lift us into a more spiritual type of existence one where we acknowledge

these facts and what spirituality has to offer us. I do believe we are currently in the midst

of a spiritual revolution, and the science coming out thats confirming these concepts

only helps the cause.

At some point we have to question our belief systems thatve been ingrained into us over

the years, and question whether spirituality is just another religion, because it

definitely doesnt seem that way. Thanks for reading.

Tales of Trash: 5 Principles for Inclusive Recycling - Duration: 3:27.

The world population is growing rapidly.

So is the need for electrical and

electronic goods. These devices contain

all kinds of raw materials, among others

valuable metals. Industries get these

from metal mines, but more and more they

use secondary recycled materials.

Especially in emerging economies metal

recycling has become an important

business. A large informal sector has

emerged that employs many workers.

They do not always receive proper education

nor proper training and protection.

This is Sabitri. She disassembles

cellphones in Dharavi, India, without

protection. It is the only way to help her

family. She is pushed to harm the natural

environment and her own health.

Carlos wanders through the streets of Lima, Peru,

in the middle of the night.

He illegally collects waste and is seen as

a social outcast.

Mustafa is only 11 years old. He works at a scrap metal yard

near Accra in Ghana. He can't go to

school and it looks as if he'll never be

able to escape the hazardous work-environment.

International experts and stakeholders have now decided to tackle

these problems. They were brought

together by the World Resources Forum

with support from the Swiss government.

They have created the Sustainable

Recycling Industries Roundtable and

developed the Guidance Principles for

the Sustainable Management of

Secondary Metals - an ISO process.

The five Guidance Principles for improving

recycling practices are (1) enabling safe,

healthy and equitable working conditions,

(2) building local community relations and

resilience, (3) conserving and protecting the

environment and natural resources,

(4) improving recovery of secondary metals,

and (5) implementing

a sustainable management approach.

The Guidance Principles are important

because they can also ensure a credible

traceability of the recovered metals.

Manufacturers of products that contain

recycled metals all over the world need

solid guarantees that these are

sustainably produced. This is good for

the economy, the environment and the people.

Waste management practices will

be improved and living conditions of

poor communities will become better.

The Guidance Principles offer a gradual approach

for implementing the several steps.

For example, Sabitri's boss was

given one year - a reasonable period - to

identify occupational health and safety risks

and to promote improvements.

Now he provides the required equipment and

facilities to enable safe and healthy

working conditions.

After having registered as a formal collector, Carlos

no longer has to roam the streets at

night. He's a proud and respected worker

with a uniform and a future.

After joining a program for working children

Mustafa can go back to school. He now

wants to learn more and help to build up his country.

If everybody uses the Guidance Principles then we can

all continue enjoying our devices

knowing that we are creating a success story.

Do you want to be part of this story?

You are most welcome to contact us

to learn more about the Guidance Principles and

join the Sustainable Recycling Initiative.
