Youtube daily report Apr 24 2017

Hi, how are you? I am Alejandro Azorín

director of the technical department of Beltá & Frajumar.

I am going to explain some of the finishes that

we have in different wooden legs on our models.

Specifically this is a leg that we use in the model Goia

which is an organic form of leg, with the virtual absence of straight lines,

the remarkable thing about this piece is the totally curved form,

made in walnut

with a strong union achieved through wooden dowels and high pressure gluing,

s a leg that is machined that can be sent disassembled and

then assembled at its destination to avoid breakages.

We move on to another type of leg,

specifically this is the one we use in the model Slim

which is a frame formed with a crossbar with two legs of straight lines,

and machined with countersunk holes to locate the washers.

Like the previous one, it allows us to send it

disassembled when necessary

to avoid breakages in transport.

Another type of leg is the one we use in the Axis model.

What does this leg have?

It is a tall leg that is made out of a single piece of ash,

where there is no gluing to avoid breakage.

Also, as with all the others

it is countersunk to be able to locate the screws and

to enable easy assembly at the destination to avoid breakages.

Another novelty is this leg that belongs to the model Gues,

an organic leg without straight lines,

which has three attachment points to the sofa.

with very easy assembly with the ability to assemble it at its destination to avoid breakages.

These pieces are crafted, in ash, without gluing to avoid breakages.

Swivel bases for armchairs Beltá & Frajumar - Duration: 2:35.

Hi how is it going I am Alejandro Azorín,

director of the technical department of Beltá & Frajumar.

I will explain some technical solutions that we are

applying to the furniture that we manufacture.

This is the rotating base with a wood finish

that we use in models like City, Punk or Lase.

It consists of an internal metal structure

covered with a layer of milled wood so

hat the support of the base

is made on the metal structure, and not the wood so avoiding damage.

With this we get immense durability in the piece with quality too.

This is the base that we use in the model Blom,

specifically, it is a base made of corten steel,

mounted on a turntable with a sealed steel bearing

which gives us a great durability and stability

it's a pretty big turntable. The foot is easy to assemble and disassemble,

so we can send disassembled seats to be put together at the destination

and minimize shipments breakages, making transport easier.

Another option we have in the model Blom,

which is a rotating wooden base and upper part with steel bearings.

This demonstrates great carpentry and craftsmanship.

Like the previous one, it allows us the possibility of and dismantling and assembling at the destination

so that we can minimize breakages and the volume of the shipment.

This is the rotating metal base that we use in the City, Punk or Lase models.

It is a metal structure with polished welds.

It has internal steel bearings. Specifically this is finished with a copper appearance.

More finishes and more colours can be produced.

It has a height adjustable leg with anti-slip pads.

In terms of general features, it is a structure of high quality and reliability.

Aggressive American Airlines employee HITS woman with stroller and challenged passenger to 'HIT ME' - Duration: 5:54.

Hi, I'm Heathcliff and this is Lions Ground.

I hope you have a fantastic day.

There turned up on April 21 a video on Facebook --- with nearly six million views --- which

takes place inside a commercial plane of American Airlines.

The video begins with a crying woman holding her baby in her straight arm because she was

attacked by a flight attendant from American Airlines who wanted to take her stroller and

hit her with the stroller.

Let me start with what has happened before the video recording.

According to a witness, the woman knew that strollers were not allowed to on board.

She refused to give up her stroller and started screaming, this reported Q13 Fox.

What I find strange about this story why is she allowed on board with the forbidden stroller?

Take the woman apart at the gates make a scene there meanwhile the passengers can enter the

plane.

A flight delay costs the airline company tons of money.

"Mwwaa, send her on board, they work it out in the plane"

No, weird story.

Now the video, the video was posted by Passenger Surain Adyanthaya "OMG!

AA Flight Attendant violently took a stroller from a lady with her baby on my flight, hitting

her and just missing the baby.

Then he tried to fight a passenger who stood Up for here.

AA591 from SFO to DFW, "says the video description.

In the video you will see the aftermatch, at some point you see another passenger backing

up this woman.

"Hey, bud, you do that to me and I'll knock you flat."

The

bare aggressive flight attendant challenged the passenger "C'mon hit me"

"c'mon, hit me" Witnesses claim that the flight attendant

aggressively took the woman's stroller while carying her baby and hit her head and almost

hit the baby.

"Do not hit women" "Do not hit women holding a baby"

The whole situation seems to be going out of hand while the pilot or co-pilot in the

middle is looking what they are doing.

"Hmmm uhuh, ahhh, mmmmm let's watch the show, mmmm, ahhhh"

The images do not lie because the flight attendant behaved extremely aggressively.

This type of behavior does not accept any air company.

The flight attendant was fired by American Airlines.

But despite the staff behaved aggressive, his behavior is not allowed on the plane,

not the woman, the crazy flight attendant could stay in the plane and the woman with

the baby were removed from the plane.

Okay, this man has been fired, no passenger is waiting for an unstable staff member.

Officials offered no other details about what happened, but the airline apologized to the

passenger and her family.

American placed them on another flight in first class and the company was "taking

special care of her and her family," the statement said.

What do you think of this whole crazy situation, let me know in the comment section below.

I Knew I Was In The Right Place - Duration: 5:19.

The minute I walked in to her...the waiting room, there was this wonderful

atrium in the cancer center in the Bennington Hospital in Vermont.

So you walk into this... And one wall within the waiting room is all windows

into this atrium. So all of this wonderful sunlight is coming into this room.

And I remember I was sitting there with Tim and another friend of ours who wanted

to come with us. And the first thing I realized was, I started realizing how

important it was to me, and I'm sure to so many other people going through this

journey, even the atmosphere within that room that you have to sit and wait is so

important and plays such a vital part in your healing and how open you are to where

you are at that moment. And I'm sitting in this waiting room to see this new

oncologist, and this sunlight is pouring in. And I got up and I started walking

around and I was looking... There was a puzzle out for people to put together

while they wait. There were pictures of the oncologists and the nurses,

and I noticed the picture of my oncologist that I was going to see.

There was a picture of her standing next to her horse. And I remember looking at

that photo, that framed photo within the waiting room, thinking,

"Oh my god, I'm in the right place." And so we got called to go into the room,

and we sit down. And while we're waiting, the nurse does her thing of checking all

the vitals and everything and the questions. And then the oncologist walked

in. And the minute she walked in, I just knew this was where I needed to be,

before she even said hello. And she started off by saying, you know,

"Michael, I'm going to share with you what I read in your records that I got.

And she shared everything that she saw, that she read about. And then she turned

to look at me and she goes, "All right, Michael, can you please share your journey

with this disease?" And I sat there first of all thinking, "No one's ever asked me

that." And so I shared, and I shared about my struggle with the drug.

I shared about everything that I was kind of dealing with and all the different

things that I was doing, and she was thrilled with me doing the yoga.

She was thrilled that I was doing acupuncture and was also doing Reiki.

And she was extremely thrilled, because she knows my energy doctor, John,

because she actually sends some of her patients there for him. And we left at...

She goes, "You know, Michael, if you'd like to come over, you know,

come back in a few weeks. We'll make an appointment, we can do some blood work,"

and then she said, "You and I will sit down, and we'll talk about whether if or

even when you would be willing to do another drug." Because as I sat with her

and I told her that I had to retell my other oncologist that I had decided to

stop the other drug. And so at that point I went back to my other oncologist.

And it would have been very easy for me and the person who I was,

not ever liking confrontation or disappointing other people. It would be

very easy for me to pick up the phone and just say to the office,

"I'm not coming back." But something inside of me said I needed to go and have

a conversation with my oncologist. And we went... I went and I sat down with her,

and I think she sensed something was up, because it was a whole different person.

And we talked, and we parted on very, very good terms. And I think I learned from

her, because what I learned from her was how important that relationship between

myself and my doctor is. And that I have every right and every power within me to

sit there and say, "This is what I'm feeling. This is what I'm seeing.

This is where I want to go." And that was something I never, ever would have done

with a doctor, and that was the gift she gave me. And so at that point I had

stopped the drug, and I was doing all holistic. I was going every three months

for my checkups. Blood work, everything was excellent. I was even talking to

somebody about my nutrition and my diet. I was really feeling like I got me back.

And I think that was one of the most important gifts I gave myself,

was I gave myself me back. And I spoke up and I stood up, and I told people how I

felt. So the path was like really morphing into this phenomenal unfolding of a path I

never would have thought journeying.

Dramatic Tenor Or Lyric Baritone - Which One Am I? - Duration: 4:37.

What's up?

Reid here, and in this video I want to talk about Lyric Baritones and Dramatic Tenors.

What's the deal with them?

Are they the same thing?

Are they different?

You know...

What am I?

Like, you know, I'm trying to figure this out.

Never fear, Reid is here!

So... [chuckles]

I know, never do that again.

So, down below this video, I'll have a link to download a PDF that has the similarities

and differences between these two voice types.

You can keep it for your reference, but I just wanted to let you know that.

So, without further ado, I will begin.

Lyric Baritones have, generally speaking, a lower range on the bottom than a Dramatic

Tenor.

Now, there are Dramatic Tenors that can sing just as low as a Lyric Baritone; it's just

a general rule of thumb.

A lot of tenors can only sing down to Bb (1 octave below) middle C.

So...

A general rule of thumb.

The baritones, generally run out of mixed voice at the Ab4; the Ab below "Tenor" High

C. Then, after that, they transition into their

high head voice.

They have a lot more weight in their voices naturally because their voices are bigger.

It's a much thicker and heavier voice than a Dramatic Tenor.

Now, that doesn't make the Lyric Baritone inferior to a Tenor.

Because in modern music we really, really have put an emphasis on broad vocal ranges.

(and) Especially, like, high ranges because a lot of pop music is Tenor frontmen or Tenor

pop stars.

Or Sopranos, even.

So, you know, it can be a pretty unforgiving thing for people that are training.

They think "I have to be a Tenor."

"I have to do this, or that..."

If you're a Baritone, be the best Baritone that you can be.

Now, there is a possibility that you may have been misclassified if you've been training.

When I first started to learn how to sing years ago, I was classified as a Lyric Baritone.

Every single time I had a teacher, and I've studied with several, and eventually...

I didn't know any better then because I believed them, but...

You know, I'm a Lyric Tenor.

I know that now because I've moved up and taken with better people and I know my voice better.

So, you know if you're a Baritone, don't worry.

If you're a Baritone that's in transition to being a Tenor because you're actually a

Tenor, but you're staying in the Baritone area right now; don't stress about it.

Just have a usable range wherever it is.

That's the best advice I can give you.

Now Dramatic Tenors can sing just as high as a Lyric Tenor or Leggiero Tenor.

They can sing Bb, Tenor C, and maybe even D above High C.

I have a friend that's a Dramatic Tenor that can vocalize up to an F above High C.

His voice is freaking huge.

They can sing just as high as a Lyric Tenor or Leggiero Tenor, it's just what sets them

apart is the natural weight in their voices.

It's not pulled, it's not strained.

It's just a little huskier, if you will, than a "normal" Tenor voice.

So Lyric Baritones have a huge voice, Dramatic Tenors have a huge voice.

So, if you don't know what you are, find a teacher that will steer you in the right direction

and help you or that won't classify you too early.

If you are classified too early, it could be dangerous for your voice and, if you want

to do this for a long time, your career.

Now, you can download the checklist I told you about earlier and you can, you know, study

the differences in what makes a Lyric Baritone a Lyric Baritone and Dramatic Tenor a Dramatic Tenor.

So, I hope this helped and I will see you in the next video.

Bye-bye!

Hey guys, it's Hannah.

Receiving a diagnosis of bipolar 2 disorder,

how it changed me,

how bipolar has changed my life ...

Well, first off, receiving a diagnosis finally gave me

the answer to all these questions I had

about these emotions I was having

and I could finally move forward.

I mean, imagine if you're physically ill

and you never get an answer.

You go to the doctor

but they can never give you a name.

You just feel stuck.

Like when you're lost in a dark tunnel

and you don't know when or where it's going to end.

And you finally come back into the light again,

it changes you, for the better, as a person.

There's a strength in you

that you didn't know existed.

And you become the person you always wanted to become.

And that's how bipolar changed me.

I blame it for my struggle

but I also blame it for making me the woman I am today.

I have to take its pain as well as its gift.

So I'd love to hear what you have to say.

How has bipolar changed you?

Your perspective on life?

Please share your thoughts in the comment section

and I'll see you next week. Bye.

How to Rap: 8 Line Rhyming Exercise - Dynamite - Duration: 3:00.

Oh what's up everybody it's dono. In

this video I'm going to go over a

rhyming exercise. A lot of you guys have

been asking for you know the actual

specific exercises so I'm going to try

to go through more of these myself so

that you can follow along with me. This

exercise is called the rhyming exercise

you may have seen it in one of my other

videos but basically you pick a word,

list out things that rhyme with it, and

then use that list to create a verse.

This is going to help improve your

rhyming as well as your ability to hold

schemes longer. So for this video I'm

going to use the word dynamite. The

goal is to have eight lines that all end

with a word that rhymes with

dynamite. So let's break it down a little

more dynamite has three syllables

dynamite. The next step is to brainstorm

all the different multi chains that

rhyme with dynamite. If you're not

familiar with multis you're going to

want to check out the video on that so

that you can keep up with what's going

on. Also if you get stuck you can use a

rhyme dictionary to help you come up

with some stuff. So I'm going to tell you

my list but I recommend that before you

check out my list you try and write up

your own. Here's what i came up with

dynamite try to fight die tonight I'm

polite fly a kite rhymes excite blinded

by bye tonight crying type pilot light

silent night now that we have a list of

potential rhymes we use those rhymes to

craft a verse. Since we already have the

rhymes ahead of time it's a lot easier

to put this together. You just look for

ways to slot in the words that you found

in a way that makes some semblance of

sense. Again this is mostly an exercise

for rhyming so it's okay if it goes off

the rails a little bit but as much as

possible you probably want it to try to

make sense and that way you can practice

for when you're actually trying to craft

a message. Here's what i came up with my

My rhymes excite because bars of mind

hit harder than dynamite plus they

always on with the heat like a pilot

light. In my mind you get blinded by the

brightest sight when you try to fight

you're confused cause I'm polite.

Waiting for that dark time a night I

slide inside and turn your whole fam

from so fab to the crying type. You

exhibit sign of hype when you

scribe or write. With lines that light you

should go fly a kite that means goodbye

alright. That's all I've got for this

video. I would love to see what you guys

come up with so put your comments down

in the box below as well as any

questions or topics you want me to cover.

Beyond that I've also got a full 30 day

course put that in the description and

I've got a website rap better.com. You

can check that out for some more free

resources and I will see you guys next

time. Don't forget to subscribe so you

can stay up to date on the videos and if

you have any questions comments or

topics for me to cover, leave them down

soon as possible. See you next time!

Dilzhan: I pranked him, so this is what i got. And this was my plan to do on you, but you did it on me

So yea, good job anyways

Sirwan: we're hungry Zhegir: we're going to zakho

Dilzhan: Dude this is flour it's not styrofoam! where did you get all this from?

Sirwan: the white ones are from zakho and the rest are from me

Peshawa: if you don't clean you place you won't be able to drive, because of the gas and break pedals

There will be pressure on them, you have to empty your side

Just get in, just accept it

Dilzhan: How am i going to clean all of this up?

We made the whole University dirty

Dilzhan: they even put it in here!

Open the doors and it will all come out

All coming out? in the middle of the University?

Dilzhan: No no no, don't throw it here

Dilzhan: Ayad, just close that door and we'll push it all from this side to there

Go ahead, you can drive it now

Dilzhan: we should take it to the back of the institue

Ayad is in the back

Dilzhan: He helped them too Ayad: ahh.... no I... yeah....

Dilzhan: you DID! you taped my windows bro! Ayad: Yea just that, just that.

uhm, these guys don't know anything about pranks or filming

And i'll laugh at them till i die because they recorded everything on scenery mode

i don't know how the audio is right now or how has it been recorded......

Sirwan: okay okay one minute! that's not important, what matters is how will you clean up you car! *Kiss*

Dilzhan: The car wash?

But guess what? I'm gonna get you all back!

And it's gonna be TERRIBLE!

Ahmed: I'm not in this

Sirwan: Okay........ okay......... Prank War!

There can be solutions for the car but there isn't a solution for the stomach

okay guys, that'll be it for this week's video. until next week, peace out!

Laser Cut Acrylic Stamps by Haskins Design Studio - Duration: 12:24.

Hi guys, it's Cindy Lietz, your Polymer Clay

Tutor. In today's PcT Product Demo, I'm

going to show you these cool Mandala

Stamps by Haskins Design Studio.

Now, these are laser-cut acrylic stamps

that are unlike anything I have used before

with polymer clay. You can use them with

all kinds of different mediums, you can

use them with polymer clay, paper clay

air dry clay, ceramic clay, even things

like fondant and candle-making and

soap-making, and all kinds of stuff. And

even just thought of one today,

using them for pencil rubbings. So all

kinds of cool things that you could do

with these acrylic stamps. Let me just

show you what they are all about, ok?

Now I've got a bunch of different

designs here. Tina Haskins is an

architect who also loves to work with

polymer clay, and she designed over a

hundred and fifty different designs of

these Mandalas. Now I'm going to show

them all to you in a second but they may

or may not arrive to you with this paper

coating on it, and before you can start

to use them, you need to soak them in

water, soapy water. And the reason why I'm

telling you this right now is we'll throw

it into the bowl and let it soak while

we're talking here. I've got some soapy

water and we'll just let it soak and

then I'll show you how to remove that

paper. Now we can go back to these. Now, why don't I first show you what I

made with the stamps. I made... OK, let me

see, we took... I took this stamp here, this

acrylic stamp, and made these two

different patterns which look completely

different. They're both made with the

same stamp and the same Premo Sunset

Pearl clay but they've been handled in

completely different ways. This one here

is a technique called Mica Shift. Now I

have a video on doing Mica Shift so

you can check that out if you've never

done it before. But basically it is a

perfectly smooth technique that looks

like it's three-dimensional, and that's

because you pushed the particles in the

pearl clay around, and these acrylic

stamps work beautifully for it. This one

here, I've used it in its dimensional

form so I pushed the clay into the stamp,

I domed it, so this is kind of a domed half

here. And I put a little bit of Mica

Powders on the raised areas, and it has a

completely different look to it. And you

can use these stamps for lots of

different types of polymer clay

techniques. I have done... I've made... taken

one of these Mica Shift tech... discs, and

made it into a pair of earrings. Well

actually not a pair, just a single one

I'm going to make this one after. But I

want to show you that you could also

take two disc pieces, put them together,

and make yourself like a lentil bead, a

hollow lentil bead. I have tutorials on

how to make Hollow Lentil Beads too, but I

thought it would point that out because

it's very cool. Now, these, like I said,

are laser-cut acrylics, so they're made

of acrylic plastic type material, and

there is a little bit of a special care

that you need to do with it. It's rigid

so it's going to act differently than

any of your flexible molds like

rubber stamps or silicone molds or

anything like that. And the designs are

crazy detailed, let me show you one for

example that's just super super detailed here.

It's got all kinds of super fine

lines and that's the only thing... you can

only get that with laser, as far as

I know, to get those sharp sharp details.

She has lots of different designs, these

are all one and a half inch circles,

and let me just show you the different

patterns. I'll go through them. This

one is from... this is number

20. So this is what that pattern looks

like and you can see that tiny little

detail that it picks up, because of the

being in the laser etched acrylic, is just so much

more crisper than any rubber stamp

detail that you're going to get.

The next one I'll show you here is design number 13,

and sometimes what you think

it's going to look like, how it looks

like here, looks quite different in its

3D form because of course it's opposite,

right? You're filling in the spaces, the

negative space is what ends up showing up.

This design here is 60... this one's

called 61, this is the one that I did a

little sneak peek on so some of you were

wondering what it was that I was showing

you, and this is the design here. And you

can see, well I don't know if Doug will be

able to pick it up, but on here even just

a little etched backgrounds from the

acrylic stamp are showing up on the clay,

which just shows you how much detail you

can get from these types of stamps. This

number here is number 5, it's very

pretty and like I said, she's got... or

maybe I didn't say, but she's got

150 different designs

and you can buy them in sets of five or ten.

I have ten here, there's this pattern, the

one that I made the earrings with

and the other domed piece.

This is design number 1, I'm really just going through

these so that you can really get a good

idea how different they all look and how

cool they are.

You can also use these types of stampings for

Faux Enamel-typed projects, you could fill those little

crevices in there with liquid... tinted

liquid clay, all kinds of cool stuff you

could do. Oh sorry that's number 60, pattern 60.

This one has a completely

different look, this is number 7R...

just a sec here, 7R, I think this

one would look a lot like a dreamcatcher.

If you wanted to hang some feathers

underneath it or something like that,

it's really cool-looking.

The next one is number 59,

and this one has a lot less fine details but still really tiny

little geometric type pattern on there,

really cool looking. Alright, so that's

those ones. Let's check out this one here,

the paper's starting to get soaked and

you can usually just peel off the large

pieces really quite easily. You want to

take... when you're taking care of these,

cleaning them, never use rubbing alcohol

on them. Rubbing alcohol is really hard

on acrylic so that goes for your

acrylic roller and that kind of thing

too. So you can just scrape it off if you

need to, you can scrub it with a stiff

toothbrush, you may need to let it sit a

little bit longer. This one looks like it

needs to sit a little bit longer or

maybe with a little hotter water but

it'll come off nice and clean. Soapy

water will do it, and you'll get a really

cool pattern. This pattern here is the

number 64 but you're not going to be

able to see it because I don't have time

to peel it all off right now. Alright so

there's that. Let me just quickly show

you how to use these stamps.

I will pick, which one should I pick? I'll pick this

one here, you're going to want to...

you need a release for these stamps,

otherwise the clay is going to get

caught in there. Now, this one's nice and

open but it does have a lot of super

fine detail in the center so use

something like either cornstarch, in some

countries they call it corn flour,

or you can use Mica Powder.

Corn flour is easy to use,

you want to make sure it's in there but

you don't want it so caked in that it's

getting stuck on your clay or you're

losing any of the details.

Water isn't going to be your best especially with

some of the brands like Fimo where water

kind of just makes it sticky, so just use...

corn starch is perfect. Then you

just take your clay, this happens to be a

sheet of Premo Sunset Pearl, it's a really

pretty color, and you put it on top and

you start pressing it in. I like to press

it in from the back. I found that if I

tried to use like an Acrylic Brayer or

something, it would skip a little bit

and kind of leave a double impression. And

you don't want that. So you want to make

sure that you've got it pressed in all

the way around, and that you haven't

missed any of the detail. You can see

through it so you can kind of see if

you've missed any areas.

And then I like to go from... I'd like to peel it back but

I like to peel it back kind of from all

the spots towards the center, from the

outside to the center is what I'm trying to say here.

Then you lift it out... isn't that so cool?

Now, I found that they sort of came

out domed, they're kind of scooped out by

the time you peel them out. You could

just leave it domed like that, even if

you didn't have a domed cookie sheet or

one of these Sculpey Hollow Bead Makers,

you could... you could still probably... it'd

probably stay domed if you just baked it

flat like that. But I'm going to cut it

out, I use... I have a 1 1/2 inch

round cookie cutter or a clay cutter,

just going to look over from the top, try

to get it as centered as possible, cut it

out. And now I have this beautiful little

domed piece. Isn't that cool? Now you can bake it on

here like I said or you could... or if you

want to, you can flatten them back out

again just by you know, just pressing it

back down flat. So you could

layer these, there's all sorts of really

cool things that you can do with it.

Make sure that if you do get any clay stuck

inside there, that you just scrub it out

with some soapy water and try to get it

out. You may use like a toothpick or

something to pick at it, but try not to

get it stuck in there. Make sure to use the

cornstarch and you will be good to go. So

I hope you found that helpful and that

it was interesting for you. And if you

their dead god - Duration: 3:51.

their dead god

this voice my voice

used against me in the past will now be

free to be used against them

no mercy in a court of law

courts of laws don't care about the past

no mercy for the care of religion

they took that from me too

in the name of god god is dead

they killed him for me

no sanctuary they took that too

so piece by piece that built my own

brick by brick I built my walls

now I have to tear them down

free the voice that wants to scream

every day of my life was a nightmare

every night I prayed to the dead God with deaf ears

he was male in sided with them

smiling down approving of their priesthood

and the rites of passage they exercised on us girls

It didn't matter that we were supposed

to be virgins when we got married by 19

they owned us anyway

I rebuilt I journeyed to find a way to speak

if they cut out my tongue I could still write

if they cut off my hands I could use my feet

if they poked my eyes out I could

still feel sense know

if they chopped off my head

I wouldn't be available to

sacrifice to the dead God with deaf ears

who refused to look down and see my plight

they gave me an education

they taught me to use my mind

they gave me a way to think logic and science

and then they gave me technology

to explore to innovate

and to throw back in their faces

they also gave me a disorder

I fled before they could figure it out I

won't tell them directly instead they'll

be channel surfing and I'll be on Oprah

talking about their dead God and what

they did to me in the name of religion

wow this is empowerment and I was

feeling weak

this is why I have a voice and words to wield

a way to take back what they took from me

yeah I get tired of the uphill climb

the draggin my ass

out of bed at six thirty in the morning

to go get my head shrunk but hey I'm

regaining perspective

and I thought Iwas through surprise we still have a lot

a lot of work to do so when I feel like

giving up i read words of encouragement

by other people and I remember that I am

NOT alone and I am NOT doing this just

for myself

I do it for my grandmothers

and my mother's and my aunts and my

sisters and my brothers and my and my

sons and my daughters and my fathers my

grandfathers I am doing this for those

who have no voice and for those who are

still too weak to speak and for those

who cannot yet speak

go ahead pray to your dead god with deaf ears

Retratos: Josean Alija - Duration: 5:55.

I'm Josen Alija chef at Nerua Guggenheim Bilbao restaurant,

in Bilbao, Northern Spain, in the Basque Country.

I'm lucky for being in Guggenheim Museum. It's an emblematic building.

A very special building that has changed the Bilbaine way of life,

that has put Bilbao on the map, and has allowed me to develop a cuisine,

a different cuisine: the traditional Basque cuisine.

A cuisine that is connected to its surroundings, to what are the roots and what is the culture.

We are lucky to be able to work on the reestablishment of values that gives a name to the cuisine.

That's why we work with temporality.

We set three changes of menus throughout the year: spring, summer, fall, winter.

We work with products from our surroundings, within 6 to 10 miles max.

It took us a long time to understand what our surroundings could offer,

and with that we make a composition of menus,

that tell and express what you can find around us.

You can feel the temporality, you can feel the products, that are linked to a culture…

We respect tradition, but our cuisine has to do with innovation.

It's a "less is more" concept in which we try to make evident

the most noble and pure characteristics of each product.

And that is a concept that we named Muina. Muina means nucleus, core, essence.

It's a word in eureska that agglutinates all the values that exist in what is the Nerua.

It's a cuisine… well, it's an original cuisine, a cuisine of vanguard…

Memory is crucial. It's an exercise that leads to emotions, isn't it?

And through the flavors it's possible to understand many things that are related to our culture,

hat are related to our traits. It is important.

To me, memory is the triumph of a cuisine.

A cuisine that makes you think, a cuisine that makes you enjoy, a cuisine that forces you to travel…

Because my cuisine is also full of nuances.

It isn't just roots, there are also journeys, there are moments.

It's a speech full of emotions, and that deep inside also tells a story…

'cause every season we tell a story. We open it like… like a folding fan.

It's simply about getting the customer to enjoy it, to experience.

It's about the customer taking things from the restaurant, right?

Discovering ingredients, discovering sensations through what food is.

And Nerua is a group of people who make it possible for this

experience to be as rich and ambitious as possible.

Totally permeable to sensations, touch, smells…

Well, the space itself is a language, an aesthetic line that will put you in our world

in order to get you relaxed, and make you simply enjoy and have fun.

The contemporary world influences me with technology,

but I am true to the roots and tradition.

I think it's important to understand what's going on outside, but I advocate what I like in the kitchen,

which is what excites me.

So I try not to get carried away by the trends but rather to rely on

the tools that help me do my job in a better way, as technology can be.

Innovation for me is the way to ensure that certain traditions and certain professions are not lost.

We work in order to keep our surroundings alive.

I defend the local cuisine above the global cuisine.

The local cuisine defends the identity, which is what makes you feel these traits,

these natural characteristics of...

these natural characteristics of what is a way of being, of living.

And through a dish you can understand many things.

These traits are what sets you apart, what you look for.

In a dish you can find or understand the difficulties, the past the present and the future,

a little of how things are going.

Deep inside the cuisine is an exercise of survival.

First it is born as a way of nourishment, and possibly through that we find pleasure.

And that's a way to socialize, to have fun.

To question this time of the food through what is product and what are emotions

is an exercise of intelligence, and is an exercise that deep inside,

when you begin, makes you travel, and makes you enjoy and understand many things.

Always local cuisine above the globalized cuisine.

This is the identity, the traits, what we look for.

To be able to find in the different parts of the world, the soul of the truth, of things, of the authentic.
