Arabic Lesson for beginners - How to say 'I Speak English' in Arabic - Duration: 4:06.

Hello and welcome to this Arabic lesson

we are learning how to say to somebody

'I speak...' in Arabic

So, maybe you're speaking Arabic, maybe you're multilingual

maybe you want to tell someone

I speak French, I speak German, I speak Hebrew, I speak ...

... French, I speak Italian, I speak Spanish

how do you say that?

Well, that's what we're going to learn

So... let's start off with the basics

I'm gonna teach you how to say 'I speak Arabic' and 'I speak English'

just because those are the two languages which we're dealing with

immediately right now

so, to say I speak Arabic you would say...

atakallum al-lugha al-3arabeeya

to say I speak English you'd say

atakallum al-lugha al-englezea

now, the verb 'takallum' four letters, تكلم' means speak

I speak, or I talk or basically I speak

atakallum, atakallum, the alif ( أ ) conjugates it into the 1st person so I

atakallum = I speak

tatakallum = you speak

now, back to the languages, if you wanted to say

'I speak French' you say atakallum al-lugha al firanseeya

If you want to say 'I speak German' you say 'atakallum al-lugha al-almaniya'

If you want to say 'I speak Spanish' you say atakalum al-lugha al-esbaaniya

Italian: atakallum al-lugha al-iiTaaniya

atakallum al-lugha al-iiTaaniya

If you want to say ... interesting fact actually

Hebrew, the word for Hebrew language is almost identical to Arabic

but just two letters switched over the way

so rather than a ba and a ra, it's a ra and a ba

so rather than al-lugha al-3arabiya it's

al-lugha al-3abriya

French, German, Spanish...

I think we've covered most of the bases there

I'm just gonna go through them all one more time, check you've got them all down

I'm gonna go through, say all the phrases

and then i'm gonna write them here in a nice little box

When I bought these shoes, they were, like, 170 bucks.

is the fact that this thing, this stand, is done.

And it came out wonderfully.

So, now I can throw a bike on here.

I don't think I'm going to assign it to one particular bike.

Whatever needs a stand uses a stand.

That works a lot better than trying to manhandle it,

and backing my truck up

and creating ruts in this wet, muddy grass.

It doesn't mix.

This, however, works perfect.

Well, I really wanna go pick up the KX,

and, unfortunately, I have to use my trailer

because, one, I have a refrigerator in the back,

thanks to my dad,

Which means I'm going to have to load it by myself.

And, in order to do that,

I think it would be easier just to use the trailer.

I'm sure you're probably thinkin',

Well, no, on my trailer, the way I built this thing,

as you guys know, I built this from complete scratch.

I even built the axle.

The only thing I didn't build were the tires, the rims,

and this hitch.

I did, however, make this framing for the hitch.

These pins I did build.

Just took round stock and just bent them,

and it works great.

The only thing is, since I put the wheels where I did,

the trailer sits up higher than usual,

which means, to make something load easy on the back,

you have to have the front high to have the back low.

And that's why I put my ball just like that.

Just for anybody who was worried about my ball.

I'm putting away the hardware for my homemade hitch,

and it looks like I bent this.

Can you guys see that?

Bent. I can't get this nut off.

So, I guess it's going to just have to stay a hitch.

I'll put it where all my other hitches are.

The Benefits of Medication for Mental Illness - Duration: 5:05.

Hello my friends! Kaitlyn here! And have you ever taken medication for depression before?

What?! But medication is for weak people!

(INTRO MUSIC)

So welcome to part 2 of my mental health series!

On Tuesday we talked about the benefits of seeing a therapist and you can watch that over here

if you haven't already done so.

And today we're going to talk about the benefits of taking medication to help recover

from mental illness.

What I want to stress upfront is that the combination of medicine and therapy worked

really well for me in dealing with depression, but everyone is different.

So maybe one or the other is what you need, but I'm going to speak from my personal experience of how a

combination of the two really helped me.

So when I was diagnosed with OCD at 11 and was having some pretty severe anxiety attacks

a doctor did suggest to my parents to put me on medication.

But that was not happening with my parents.

And actually I'm kind of glad of this because it allowed me at 22 when I was mostly fully developed

to decide for myself that I wanted to try medication.

So post-college, I was pretty severely depressed.

I had a lot of suicidal ideation.

I never made any active plans but it is something that

I guess you could say, I longed for?

Which is kind of weird to say, but it's the best way to describe it. Because I just hated myself and my life and

the world so much that the idea of dying or being dead was the only that felt like relief?

And all the deep breathing and exercise and prayer in the world was not doing anything to touch it.

That's when the option of going on an antidepressant became a realistic option for me.

I had always been scared of medication. I was afraid that it would take away the me, that was me. That I'd be some sort of zombie.

But the sad thing was, I was a zombie already.

Depression is a chemical imbalance in your body.

So taking a medication to try to balance those chemicals back is actually kind of logical sounding.

So I decided to try it.

I worked with a really wonderful psychiatrist and we tried two different antidepressants.

The first one I had to switch from the first because it was causing some really intense night sweats and

restless leg and those were just not side effects that I was okay with dealing with.

But eventually we found a medication and a dosage that worked for me.

And slowly, almost without me even realizing it, I stopped wanting to die all the time.

Medicine didn't fix all of my issues 100%, but it did pull me up enough from my lowest low

that I was able to start seeing realistically all the things that were wrong in my life.

And it was at that point that I started to think, "Hey, maybe seeing a therapist would be useful."

So I got into therapy and that pushed me even farther along in my recovery journey.

And now almost 5 years later, I wouldn't say that I've "recovered from depression."

I feel like it's something that I'm always going to have to be vigilant for, but I am so

much more of functioning human being than I was when I graduated college.

And what's even better is that I now know how to watch for signs of spiraling into a low point

in both my mind and my body.

Yay for health and positive thoughts and not wanting to die!

So I made this little 2 part series to tell you my story because I think it's important.

But mostly to encourage you if you've ever felt any of the ways I've talked about in these last two videos to seek help.

Go to your primary care physician, tell them how you've been feeling.

They'll refer you to a psychiatrist. Or a therapist. Or both!

My biggest piece of advice is to not wait until you're in the throes of a lowest low

point because at that point it is 1.) hard to except

that you need help and 2.) it never feels like the help comes fast enough.

Basically, don't wait for a crisis to decide to take care of your mental health.

And I know it can be super hard to admit that you need help.

Our culture makes us believe that we are weak or crazy because of it.

But no! The culture is wrong!

I and so many others are out there trying to destigmatize mental health and the idea of seeking help.

Hence, the video! Woohoo!

You deserve to find help. So ask. And keep asking until you find it.

You can do it. I did it.

I mean, 5 years ago I thought it was going to be impossible. I thought I would be dead by 25.

And I'm 100% serious when I say that.

I don't talk about it very much, in real life or on YouTube because it's not a very fun thing to talk about and I

try to be, you know, positive and happy for you guys here.

But it was a very real problem for me.

So I'd love to know about your experiences with mental illness!

Best Homemade Buttermilk Pancake Mix - Gemma's Bigger Bolder Baking Ep 168 - Duration: 3:06.

Hi Bold Bakers!

So let's face it, everybody loves those soft fluffy pancakes that you get from a box

of pancake mix.

However, I'm going to do you one better today.

I'm going to show you how you can make your own homemade dry pancake mix with even better

results.

So let's get started.

In a large bowl, we're going to add in some flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda,

and salt, and whisk all of these ingredients together.

So I know that boxed pancake mix is really tempting to use, because all you do is liquid

ingredients to the dry ingredients.

However, in our mix, its all good quality ingredients and we're going to do the exact

same thing.

We have a few dry ingredients here and then we're just going to add in some liquid.

Okay, and that's it.

This is our pancake mix.

Could not be simpler.

Now this will last for up to two months in an airtight container.

Next I'm going to show you how you can take this and actually turn it into a pancake batter.

Now in true big and bold fashion, of course I created my own box of pancake mix.

Just look at how awesome that looks.

And I put it into a little baggie.

So now we're going to take our mix and we're going to mix it with some wet ingredients.

Add your dry ingredients into a large bowl.

So into this we're going to add in our buttermilk.

Now buttermilk makes these lovely and soft.

But if you don't have buttermilk you can always make your own, and I did that in a

previous video.

Okay, into this we're going to add some eggs.

And then add in some flavorless oil.

And by flavorless oil I mean canola oil, sunflower oil, just not olive oil.

Now next I'm going to add in some vanilla extract to my batter.

Now this is optional, you don't have to do it, but I really think it pumps up the

flavor of the pancakes.

Okay, next you want to take our whisk and then gently mix it up together.

The secret about whipping up pancakes is you want to leave some lumps.

You don't want to over mix it.

You want to keep it nice and thick.

As always, this recipe and all my other recipes can be found on my website, biggerbolderbaking.com.

Okay, so this is our delicious, bubbly thick pancake batter.

Now let's cook one off.

In a non-stick pan over medium heat, put a big spoonful of your pancake batter.

Cook it for around four minutes, until you see bubbles form on the top, and then flip

it over and cook it for another one to two minutes.

Then take it off and it's ready to eat.

When they're lovely and golden brown, that means they are perfect.

Just look at these pancakes, how insane do they look.

Now to serve your pancakes then they're nice and warm, we're going to pour over

some maple syrup.

Now the proof is in the pudding.

So let me cut some and show you how fluffy they are on the inside.

Ah, look at this.

Look how thick they are.

This is what you want from a pancake, beautiful, soft, and fluffy.

Goodmorning, today it's Tuesday April 4, 2017

and today I am 38 years old.

Yes, yes, 38!

Not that it makes any difference by the way.

Nor today will be any different than the rest of the days.

So I get back home

where, for the next 6-7 hours, I can sit down to my computer

in silence, until my family returns from work and preschool.

Today, on my way home from my daughter's preschool

I saw a car, a very rare one

which I thought I filmed but it turns out I hadn't pressed the record button

unfortunately I don't have the footage, now I'm going to show you the model, it's a BMW

And it was this one!

So, I thought I was filming it, I had prepared the camera while I was driving

all that is quite dangerous as you understand

how many times you run into this kind of car, though

I tried to film it, I didn't succeed though

so this episode started with a minor FAIL.

As we talked before, today isn't different than the rest

so I have to do a few standard things

for the websites I manage

I also speak in Greek

I'll explain that later.

I think I will explain why I'm speaking in Greek now.

I guess I won't be explaining why I'm speaking in Greek right now but afterwards

because I just got an email

it is about the accounting of my company

At some point I will have to explain

what goes on with this kind of companies

and how in general, someone who works by oneself

to be a little...

so I have to spend some time on this

and as I said before I have to publish some posts on websites

and immediately afterwards I'll tell you

We'll check out the first episode of the series

which has been watched mainly from Greece

Greeks have watched it for 1:40 minutes and UK people watched it for 1:28.

We can see that most people are watching this (and not leaving), of course I always have subtitles when

I'm talking in Greek

Let's see the second episode.

Figures are similar here as well, UK people watched the video for a longer time

They watched 3 minutes of the video on average compared to Greeks' 2 minutes.

That's a positive sign, let's go to check out the most popular one

comparatively of course, since 95 views

we can't say it's not that much popular!

but compared to others

we see that this episode

in which I talked about the cameras, the lenses, the gear I am using

although most viewers came from Greece

64, six people from US and six people from UK that watched it

in UK they watched 8 minutes, almost the entire video's duration!

while US viewers didn't spend that less time watching the video compared to Greeks

We notice that it's mostly Greek viewers who watch the videos

so why do them in English, that was one of the reasons

why I'm doing this very video in Greek

The fact that people from abroad are watching these first episodes

was expected since I mostly speak in English and keeping my Greek talking at minimum

but let's now see a video

which I published two days before I began filming this series of episodes

where I talk in Greek throughout the video, I don't speak English at all

and I think it's about 3 minutes, it's quite short

if you haven't watched it, I'm speaking in Greek in front of the camera.

while this video addresses mainly to...

ok, it's for the whole world but given I speak in Greek

I didn't expect so many people from abroad would watch that

while 41% of the viewers come from Greece

that means 59% don't come from Greece!

although I speak in Greek

of course I've translated the title and the description and have typed in English subtitles.

so an overseas viewer isn't disappointed when visiting and watching the video

The one thing that impressed me the most, though

is the duration of the video those people watched for

from abroad.

As we see, Greeks watched the two of the video's three minutes on average

but upon checking further below

viewers from other countries...

devoted similar or more time watching the video.

In a video where I speak exclusively in Greek, huh!

So, I now think:

I've done four episodes thus far.

mainly in English having only a few short parts in Greek

which were watched by Greeks mostly.

Another video that has a lot more views till now

compared to these episodes

which featured 50 to 95 views each,

last month's most popular video

so one main reason for doing videos in Greek is that mostly Greeks watch these videos

but a video that was done exclusively in Greek

was watched

59% watched that video from abroad

and that 59% of people

devoted similar time with Greeks to watch it.

So, with English title, English description and subtitles

I don't see a reason to do these videos in English

since my English accent sucks, no question about it

I will never improve my accent

and my understanding is, according to the feedback I received, that

I come out more naturally when speaking in Greek, as Greek is my native language

and confirming that

half of the viewers come from outside Greece

despite me talking in Greek

and watch for plenty of minutes in spite of me speaking in Greek

why don't I make the videos in Greek?

And I bet...

...and I think I'm good at that...

that this video

will become more popular than previous episodes

that I made for the LIFE.doc series.

from the 4 previous ones that I did in English

and specifically, that one about the gear was a lot more organized

compared to today's video which is very spontaneous

and the main topic being why I'm doing these videos in the Greek language

for yet another time, I've made a couple of more videos of

explaining why to make videos in Greek, why make them in English

I had my concerns, I had my doubts

having this sample now, of course it's a very small one

anyway, it will depend on... how it will become...

how this will come out... the results of this video anyhow...

so now that I've explained this

I have finished what I had to do on the websites, I got a ton of emails to reply to

however, my parents are coming in 5 minutes

at least I finished explaining why I'm making these in Greek

and that's all!

As history claims, the phoenix began as a common bird that�s nest caught on fire by

the hand of a god-like figure.

As the fire started to consume the bird, instead of suffering, she decided to dance in the

flames.

Eventually, the fire reduced the bird to ashes.

However, this was not the end of that wise bird, for she knew her ending was only the

beginning � the beginning of something greater than what she ever thought possible, a resurrection.

The seemingly done-for bird emerged, more powerful and more beautiful than ever.

The phoenix represents a rebirth.

A rebirth of the body, mind, and soul, that unleashes itself when the spirit is set free

from its self-inflicted shackles.

I can relate to this story.

For a long time I wondered if this fire burning inside me would find its way out and lead

me to fulfill my own potential.

With much struggle and countless nights awake, thinking about who I was and what it was that

I really wanted to do, I went to University and obtained a business degree.

I did this not because I really liked business but because I took the safe route, thinking

that this degree would be my best chance of getting a job with a good pay.

Although I received great grades, I was uninspired and lost, and afterward went from job to job

and bad relationship to bad relationship, trying to find my way in all the wrong places.

After a devastating breakup I realized that I needed some serious self-work.

I asked myself: Why was I continuously looking on the outside for acceptance and fulfillment?

Feeling at my lowest point, I decided I would finally work on what was inside and take a

completely different path in order to find myself.

I began a yoga teacher training course with a real Indian guru � an 88-year-old man

who looked 60 and healthier than I was � who completely changed my outlook and my life.

Skeptical at first by his humble, simplistic studio and easy yoga positions, I pushed on

and stayed dedicated.

Through practice, I could finally see through all my negative thoughts and constant worries

about the past and the future, and just be � be in the present moment.

I was freed of my own mind, and emerged as a more confident, self-loving, and less worrisome

person.

I was closer than ever to finding the real me, my own inner phoenix, my spirit.

I redirected my thoughts, let go of people and career paths that did not serve my spirit,

and embraced these choices as opportunities for growth.

I saw it all as a new beginning to put me back on my true path.

Now, instead of seeking answers and acceptance from the outside, I am true to myself and

let my own inner voice guide me throughout my life.

I learned that the fulfillment I desperately sought began with passion, regardless of what

the passion is.

I realized that my passions always lay in helping others and in the arts, especially

music.

I decided to join a choir, and to get involved in the community by volunteering at my local

YMCA.

I also found a job in a creative arts company and started teaching yoga, along with doing

some interior design on the side.

I am now in various shows with the choir around my city, am in more shape thanks to yoga and

my free gym membership at the Y, and have a healthier and happier work-life balance.

You can do something with what you enjoy doing, and it will eventually lead you to a place

you never dreamed of.

We all owe it to ourselves to put to use our gifts, because that�s why we have them!

Let me tell you a secret about the phoenix: she�s in all of us.

She�s there, just waiting to be unleashed.

That fiery feeling inside of us, wanting to change our lives, feeling as though something

is missing, this is the pre-condition of a radical change that is naturally starting

to occur in your life.

It is the passion within you waiting to be expressed, and ultimately the ending of the

old you.

Of course, one of the scariest things in life is change, but to embrace change is to embrace

life.

To be true to the feeling inside you, urging you to take another road if you are going

down the wrong one is to be true to yourself.

How do you act upon this inner change burning inside you?

The answer is simpler than you think.

Start by more frequently pursuing things that make you happy.

As you move forward, you might start hearing those negative voices inside your head.

That is normal and can be helped!

Take a yoga class, or simply spend some quiet time alone listening to some soothing music

to help clear your mind, and pray.

Pay no mind to others� opinions, or what others believe to be the right path for you.

You can always start small.

Sometimes just being a part of what you love can be enough.

I have always wanted to be a singer, and just being able to sing for people within a group

fulfills my need.

I always have a need to make a difference in the world, and in my way I am doing so

by volunteering for only three hours a week for a cause that I believe in, which to me

is payment to my soul.

Eventually doing these things that I loved uplifted me and set me back on my path.

No one can know what truly makes you happy and alive except you.

Eventually, your happiness will be enough to make anyone who doubted your choices come

around�and your joy will be contagious to them, as well.

Whether it be cooking, decorating, being with animals, or playing music, find a way to awaken

that spark within you, and that glow will continue to grow.

Through that growth you will start to awaken the phoenix within you, inspire others to

do the same, and become stronger and more self-fulfilled than ever.

create a thumbnail image for your

youtube videos using Google slides and

letting Google slides design for you so

first of all if you've got a google

account then all of these tools that

Google Offers you you can use for free

which includes Docs sheets gmail google

drive but the one we're looking at today

is Google slides so click on your Google

slides and then you'll be presented with

your Google slides gallery but you're

looking for this template gallery here

and see some of the designs that they

offer you that you can use here I want

something big and bold so going to have

a look at this orange one here and

remember that once you go in there will

be a lot more pages of designs that you

can use and adapt to the product or the

thumbnail that you need show you what I

mean this is the main title page but

then down the side here comes all the

different elements that they use within

this slide template package if you had

an e-book you could use this bring that

over into a bit more and then use your

title of your video in that bit there

that is a pretty good good one a nice

face image all these this is just one

template okay so you can then go to

other templates just on the right here

if you don't like color you can change

what you think would work for your video

ok did I like the orange because it's

big and bold and that's what we want one

thing you have to remember as well in

your design is that down here you get

the time for your video so you don't

want to cover that with most of your

ideas so what should we use I'm going to

go for this big title one because my

video is all about a free

online photo editor this is the video

that we've done okay so need this word

to be quite big I'm gonna make it a

on that it's there with our time just

there but you can see at that size

people are going to see that it's clear

it's a good color to grab their

attention and hopefully it'll grab them
