I remember when I left Oregon to come back to California there were some people that

were very upset with me.

They'd come to be dependent upon me in a very unhealthy way.

And when I told them, announced that I was leaving, they made me feel guilty.

They heaped it on!

And, honestly, I felt so bad!

I just was torn and it emotionally affected me, but I just felt in my heart I was supposed

to come.

And I remember walking around the park one day and praying about it.

And, again, I felt like the Holy Spirit spoke to me.

You know, Jesus said, "When the Holy Spirit comes, He will lead and guide you into all

the truth."

Jesus said, "When He speaks, he won't speak on His own authority, but He will reveal

and transmit things from the Father and from Me to you."

The Holy Spirit is supposed to speak to Christians.

That is part of normal Christian living.

Some people are over the top and they attribute a lot of stuff that I'm sure He didn't

say.

But I felt like the Holy Spirit spoke to me, and what came to me were these words: "I

feed the sparrow, I will take care of them.

That's not your job, Bayless."

It took a huge weight off of my heart and off of my mind.

And I came back to California and I believe landed in the middle of God's will.

I couldn't be God to those people.

I couldn't be everything they wanted me to be.

I couldn't provide everything they were expecting me to provide.

And, I'll tell you, it put an ungodly pressure on me when I tried to do those things.

I have limitations just like you have limitations.

How did I just poke myself in the face?

Ow.

Hi (squeaky) everybody- ooh, that was a squeak.

Hi everybody, I'm Amanda the G and sometimes I forget that I have tattoos.

I feel like this is kind of a common thing, if you have them you just kind of know that

it's part of you and don't really focus on the fact that you have them.

But I do notice occasionally other people looking at me, particularly when my largest

tattoo is showing, and there's a whole variety of different reactions that they have.

This one is small, it's tiny, it doesn't get a lot of attention.

People either don't notice it or just kind of gloss over it.

I don't really get a lot of weird looks or people questioning it.

The one that people tend to notice though, is the one on my thigh which is Aragorn's

poem from Lord of the Rings.

I'm totally a Tolkien nerd, clearly.

Tree of Gondor.

But I wasn't ready in my life for the tree of Gondor, so instead I got Aragorn's poem,

which has a whole crap ton of meanings for me that I don't really need to get into that

are both personal and for the story and how I view life and a whole bunch of other stuff.

Anyway, suffice to say there's reasonings behind that ink.

I've noticed that there are a few different reactions that people have to that tattoo

based kind of on who they are.

Just to overly generalize and categorize people real quick.

There are the other fellow Tolkien nerds: Nice!

I've noticed these people tend to not have ink very much themselves:

How long did that take to get?

And how much did it hurt?

How expensive was it?

People who just generally don't like ink or specifically don't like my ink:

Ew.

And finally, the people who think I've ruined my life by getting a tattoo:

You know you're never gonna get a job if you have that much ink.

And you're never gonna be in a relationship.

Look what you've done to your body.

You know you can't undo that.

Do you know what that's gonna look like when you're 80?

What I find interesting is these people tend to be people that I don't know at all, just

random strangers.

They seem to think that it's ok to come up and talk to me about it or give me looks about

it and think I don't notice.

But the thing is, I got my ink for me and I really don't care what other people think

about it.

It has a lot of meaning for me.

It's not like I just woke up one day and it was there and I was like 'oh crap, how did

this happen?'

I planned this for years and got it specifically for that purpose.

I sat still for several hours to get it.

And I do plan on getting more ink in the future probably.

I like the idea of having a full back piece, I just don't know really what I want.

And then there's a couple other things that I've thought about but I just don't have fully

planned out yet.

And I like to have all of my ink fully planned before I do it, but that's just me.

In case you're wondering, this is actually not about Autism.

Sometimes people think it's about Autism cause they see a puzzle piece, but the Autism symbol

is actually a different puzzle piece than this.

This one's actually for my dad.

Cause when I was little I used to do puzzles with him, and when he died, he took a piece

of me with him, so that's his piece.

So this one has a lot of meaning.

That's also why it's on my wrist and visible almost all the time.

PG&E Demonstrates Drone Technology to Improve Gas Safety - Duration: 2:15.

It came from outer space — to bring safety to your street.

PG&E recently hosted a demonstration of new drone

technology at its training facility in Livermore, Calif. A

group of engineers tested a methane gas sensor that was

first developed to help look for life on Mars. Now the company

plans to use it to look for tiny leaks in its natural gas

pipelines. It may sound futuristic, but it isn't science

fiction. The project, which has been in development for two

years, began through a partnership with PG&E, NASA and

UC Merced. NASA scientist Lance Christensen said it could yield

benefits not only for the company but the entire industry.

[CHRISTENSEN:] "We have been working with PG&E and other

energy companies to utilize the technology here on earth for

public safety, pollution reduction, climate change

science." The engineers fitted a prototype sensor to a

quad-copter drone that probes for gas leaks in a simulated

neighborhood. The remotely piloted vehicle is able to fly

and maneuver into areas that would otherwise be hard to reach

in ground-based surveys. The device is 1,000 times more

sensitive than most commercially available leak detection senors

gas companies currently use. [CHRISTENSEN:] "Having a

facility like this one here helps us debug, helps us

understand the science." PG&E's Francois Rongere believes the

technology will soon be taking off across the company's 70,000

mile service area. [RONGERE:] "We are at the point now we can

actually use it in a configuration which is very

close to a neighborhood. We are testing different leaks –

several leaks — they are able to fly around the perimeter and

locate the leak very rapidly." The drone tool is only the

latest safety technology PG&E is helping to develop. In 2016, the

company invested $1.85 billion in gas system improvements and

remains committed to innovate for safety — right here on

just difficult and
