hi friends welcome to my channel kitchen to kitchen today I'm gonna show you a
super healthy Dal recipe and I have also added some drumsticks in this recipe
hope you like it let's look at the ingredients I have pre cooked dal for
this recipe so I have used about 1 cup of toor dal and half a cup of moong dal to
2 big cups of spinach leaves 1 small onion
two small Tomatoes
to medium-size Indian drumsticks and I have cut them into small pieces two
garlic cloves and I'm gonna crush them one teaspoon of turmeric powder 1
teaspoon of store-bought kitchen King masala 2 teaspoons of red chilli powder
one teaspoon of mustard seeds one teaspoon of cumin seeds and some salt to
taste now put the flame to medium high and I'm using a nonstick pan to cook the
dal once the pan is hot enough add in about 5 to 6 teaspoons of oil
spread the oil across the pan like this once the oil is hot we are going to add
mustard seeds and while they crackle I am going to crush the garlic cloves
now add in the cumin seeds and give a toss like this making sure that human
seeds are you know well immersed in oil
add some he and again just give it toss like that and now added the crushed
garlic saute it well I had some curry leaves so I have added them but if you
don't have them no worries these are optional give it a toss like that and
then the chopped onions sautee them really well
testing for 10 or so seconds again give them a toss like that now add in some
salt and we're also gonna add these spices start with the kitchen King
masala red chilli powder turmeric powder and give it a good mix smells amazing in
here now add the chopped tomatoes
mix it well tomatoes will add that tangy flavor that we want in this tall now add
the chopped spinach and give it a good mix so this will take about 30 to 40
seconds and these spinach will also start to kind of reduce a bit cover and
cook it for five minutes reduce the claim all the way to low it's
been cooking for about five minutes let's open and check notice that there
is some water released so give it a good mix and also notice that the spinach has
reduced quite a bit we are going to cover and let it cook for another 2 to 3
minutes now it's been cooking for about 3 minutes let's open and give it a mix
I have boiled the drumsticks for about 8 to 10 minutes in a microwave so they
have become little soft and now I'll add them to the mixture now add the cooked
doll to this tomato and onions mixture
mix it well notice how the color kind of starts to change a bit the doll is
pretty thick so I'm going to add about two cups of water so as you like it you
know even out the consistency for your taste now give it a good mix now add all
the remaining salt again give it a good mix now we are going to cover it and let
it cook for about five to seven minutes on a medium low flame notice that
bubbles start to form so open it and give it a mix and we are going to cover
it again and let it cook for another five to seven minutes notice that it has
come to a really good boil
mix it well the doll is pretty much ready now notice the bubbles go ahead
and switch off the flame
now one final time before serving just mix it and serve it hot this doll is
very healthy and it goes really well with some hot rice or even a chapati to
enhance its taste I'm going to add a dollop of clarified butter hope you like
