It's week three, day one, and we've been preparing all morning for the investor day this afternoon.
This is the week where we press everything together.
Hey guys – say hello! Hi!
The temporary business centre is open, clearly a lot of buzz, a lot of energy, the businesses have started moving in.
We've got some really good feedback, we feel really excited about some of the recommendations.
What we're hoping to do is give them the tools to go out and raise the funds necessary
to support a greater number of financially-excluded people.
To give them something that they can change and adapt over time.
That's where we've really focused our efforts, on leaving behind something that's going to have a lasting impact.
We've been working with Allia to help them put together a sustainable financial model.
Hopefully in five years from now they will actually have a permanent future business centre
that will engage that many more entrepreneurs and ventures in the community.
It's so humbling to see all of the things that they accomplish on a daily basis.
What I hope for our work is that we make a difference within the organisation of Toynbee
and that allows them to serve more members of their community,
and to reach as many individuals who are trapped in poverty as possible.
We're really excited to be finishing up week three here, we're going to do our final presentation with our host organisation,
hopefully all goes well and then we will be up to some mischief in London.
At the very core of what this entire experience meant, one of the most important things is listen, listen, and listen some more.
It's amazing what sixteen like-minded people can achieve when they come together and put their hearts and minds to it.
I admire what they do for this local community.
The situation that some of their beneficiaries are seeing themselves in could happen to absolutely anybody.
That's one thing that I've definitely opened my eyes to.
Makes you feel that you are giving back in a way that I'm not able to do when I am sitting behind my desk.
Your skills can be applicable to so many things.
We're working with incredibly passionate people who are dedicating their lives to eradicating poverty.
It's a very hopeful feeling coming out of this programme.
Having J.P. Morgan here has really allowed us to step back and see the programme from a different perspective
They've really helped us put in place some materials which will allow us to get the investment we need to grow and succeed.
Because of the support given to us by J.P. Morgan, I think in the next year, in the next two years,
we'll be in a place where we are proving our impact, with which to get more funding, to make more of a difference in people's lives.
