Everybody's favorite dysfunctional 1980's family is back, as The Goldbergs is set to return for its sixth season.

New episodes will air Wednesdays at 8 p.m.

ET/7 p.m.

CT, starting with the Season 6 premiere on September 26.

The Goldbergs may not be a ratings giant, as it finished the 2017-18 season ranked 66th overall in the Nielsen ratings, which is pretty much on par with where it has been throughout the entirety of the series.

But it was a much better 37th in the important 18-49 demographic, and even though the fanbase is a bit small compared to other network shows, it's certainly a dedicated one.

Those fans should be excited for a Season 6 that will surely have a lot of fun moments, but perhaps none better than the upcoming Halloween episode ("Nightman on Elk Avenue"), where Freddy Krueger will make an appearance and be played by Robert Englund.

The 71-year-old actor first appeared as Krueger in A Nightmare on Elm Street in 1984 and of course reprised the role in countless horror movies during the next 20 years.

Englund said last year that he would never play Krueger again, so this episode will undoubtedly be a treat for both The Goldbergs and Freddy fans.

The season starts with a trip to Atlantic City, a spot that was very important to Executive Producer Adam Goldberg when he was growing up.

"Some of my fondest childhood memories back in the '80s were down the shore in Atlantic City," he said.

"Our family has owned a house in Ventnor for nearly 50 years, which has been passed down through the generations.

I'd spend my summers on the beach, walking the Boardwalk and going to the casino arcades and Ocean One mall on the pier.

I knew I had to work Atlantic City into an episode of my show to pay tribute to a place that meant so much to me growing up.".

The season premiere is titled "Sixteen Candles," followed by "You Got Zuko'd" and "RAD!".

to use, Grassley said: "I don ot know, but I guess we are just being cautious."

But who the counsel is remains unclear On Monday evening, the Senate Judiciary Committee

officially sent out its notice for the hearing Thursday.

Hart Senate building to limit media.

The format of the hearing is still up in the air and the latest letter from Ford's attorney,

Senate Republicans have signaled they may be working through the weekend to confirm

Judge Kavanaugh as quickly as possible.

This according to U.S. President Donald Trump who cited "very positive" behind-the-scenes

developments between the two sides during remarks at the UN Security Council,... and

a rare solo press conference on Wednesday.

The United States is making "positive progress" on striking a deal with North Korea on denuclearization,...

but isn't rushing to specify a timeline just yet.

This according to U.S. President Donald Trump on Wednesday,... after attending a gathering

of world leaders at the UN General Assembly.

Addressing criticism he failed to secure a timeline on denuclearization or concrete pledges

from the North,... Trump said there had been substantial follow-up action after his June

12th summit with North Korean leader Kim Jong-un.

He said "many things are happening behind the scenes, away from the media," noting U.S.

officials have been holding secret meetings with the North.

Such progress, he said, is likely to produce "good news" in the "coming months and years."

The president also praised North Korean leader Kim Jong-un, as a man he knows and likes,...

expressing confidence Kim also wants a deal to secure peace and prosperity for his regime.

At a press conference later in the day,...

President Trump reiterated he isn't in a hurry to specify a timeline on denuclearizing North

Korea,... saying he has all the time in the world.

After a series of diplomatic events on North Korea and its denuclearization, it's been

confirmed that Washington's top diplomat will be heading to North Korea next month.

Mike Pompeo hopes to make progress on dismantling the regime's nuclear program AND prepare for

a second summit between U.S. President Donald Trump and North Korean leader Kim Jong-un.

U.S. Secretary of State Mike Pompeo will be traveling to North Korea in October in a fresh

bid to breathe life into the stalled talks between Pyeongyang and Washington.

State Department spokeswoman Heather Nauert confirmed the trip on Wednesday shortly after

Secretary Pompeo's meeting with North Korean Foreign Minister Ri Yong-ho on the sidelines

of the UN General Assembly.

She said Pompeo accepted the North Korean leader's invitation to travel to Pyeongyang

next month to make further progress on the implementation of the Singapore declaration,

including the final, fully verified denuclearization of the North, as well as to prepare for a

second summit between the two leaders.

The trip would be Pompeo's fourth to North Korea, which was initially planned for August

until it got canceled by President Trump as he thought there hadn't been enough progress

made on denuclearization.

Pompeo also tweeted about his "very positive" meeting with his North Korean counterpart.

He uploaded two pictures of them, shaking hands and talking,... and said they discussed

the upcoming summit and the next steps towards the denuclearization of the Korean Peninsula.

Pompeo added that much work remains, but they will continue to move forward.

So where should we start with?

First, from ROUGH DRAFT.

there will be a whole glass window.

And a cloud far away of the sky. This composition might make more nuke-kan.

The straight feeling of space and the depth

is an important aspect of nuke-kan.

By keeping nuke-kan in mind,

you can avoid adding extra detail to your background.

You can give some nice space on the background.

So where you should add some details?

It's the front. The close-range.N

You can add details to the objects on close-range.

And draw less details as the range gets longer.

Difficult Japanese word again. "Te wo nuku".

What I want to say is make it more simple as the range gets longer.

And more details on the close-range.

Simply put, draw more lines.

By drawing more lines,

And fine light and shadows.

C., set of Halloween, a sequel to John Carpenter's 1978 horror classic of the same name

Jamie Lee Curtis is back playing the slasher genre's most celebrated heroine, surrounded by her daughter Karen (Judy Greer), son-in-law Ray (Toby Huss), and granddaughter Allyson (Andi Matichak)

In the original film, Laurie was a teenage babysitter who narrowly escaped masked killer Michael Myers after he had slain three of her friends

In the new Halloween (out Oct. 19), Curtis' character remains in the fictional town of Haddonfield, Ill

, haunted by Myers and obsessed with the possibility of his return. The killer has spent the previous four decades in a psychiatric institution and is now being transferred to a maximum-security prison, but Strode is convinced he still presents a murderous threat

 "She was really unhinged from the whole experience," Curtis tells EW of Laurie's ordeal back in 1978

"The woman we meet 40 years later is really a walking example of PTSD."  Strode's agitation today, however, is exceptional: She's just witnessed Myers being placed on a prison bus, and her hesitation to shoot her onetime assailant has her completely undone

"Let's press the reset button," says Greer's Karen at one point, pleading for her mother to calm down

"Let's have a do-over."  Given the situation, her request seems perfectly reasonable

But Greer's dialogue can also be interpreted as a wink to the film's audience. Why? Because this is a direct sequel to Carpenter's original film, and it operates as if the events depicted in the nine subsequent franchise entries never happened

And this cleaning of the slate isn't the only element of the new movie that has caused eyebrows to raise among horror fans

Halloween is directed and co-written by David Gordon Green (George Washington, The Sitter), whose résumé, while eclectic, does not include anything resembling a horror movie

Even more curious, Green co-wrote the script with Danny McBride, a friend of the filmmaker's from their days at the University of North Carolina School of the Arts

McBride is best known for his comedic performances on the envelope-pushing HBO sitcoms Eastbound & Down and Vice Principals, shows on which Green was a frequent director

So, is this new iteration of the franchise less "The night he came home" — the tagline for the original film — and more "The night he got high and told a bunch of off-color jokes"?  Green insists Halloween lovers need not worry

"We're really trying to honor Carpenter's vision," says the filmmaker. "Danny said a really smart thing: 'Until there's killings, there's no jokes

Let's not give anybody anything to laugh at until we've scared them s—less.'"  Over the past eight months EW has stalked Curtis and the rest of the Halloween crew — though hopefully in a much less threatening manner than Michael Myers tracks Laurie Strode

The result is a story which includes interviews with Curtis, Green, McBride, Carpenter, and Nick Castle, who once again makes an appearance as Myers in the new film, 40 years after playing the slasher icon in the original movie

So, grab your copy of the new EW, settle down with your favorite pumpkin-flavored brew, and read all about how one of horror's most beloved franchises came back from the dead

Perhaps needing a way to create some buzz surrounding a show that has grown a bit stale over the last couple of years, co-creator Christopher Lloyd managed to grab everyone's attention when he revealed that a "significant character on the series" will be killed off this season.

"We're handling some bigger life events in this season," he said.

"We do deal with a death, which is certainly a topic that families have to deal with, and on television, it's not easy to do because that's a heavy subject.

But at the same time, it would seem unusual for a family not to go through it.".

He also noted the death will have "repercussions across several episodes," though not much more info is known beyond that.

Some of the actors have discussed the topic but no real details have been given away.

"I didn't get nervous when I heard somebody was (being killed off)," said Sophia Vergera, who plays Gloria.

"Iif I had heard somebody was going to get deported, than I would.

It would either be Rico or me, I think Rico would go first.".

Don't expect to find out anytime soon, either.

"We're finishing episode 5 — maybe starting 6 — and we haven't killed anybody yet," said Julie Bowen, who plays Claire.

"It's still just good, clean, semi-gay fun.".

It's almost assuredly an end-of-the-season event, which would mean the reveal won't come until April or May.

It'll be interesting to see if the buzz surrounding this news results an uptick in ratings for the show, which saw its Nielsen rank drop to an all-time low of 58th during the 2017-18 TV season.

It was, however, still 21st in the all-important 18-49 demographic, so it's not as though it's on a lifeline quite yet.

The first three episodes of the season are directed by James Bagdonas, Steven Levitan and Jeffrey Walker.

The Goldbergs may not be a ratings giant, as it finished the 2017-18 season ranked 66th overall in the Nielsen ratings, which is pretty much on par with where it has been throughout the entirety of the series.

But it was a much better 37th in the important 18-49 demographic, and even though the fanbase is a bit small compared to other network shows, it's certainly a dedicated one.

Those fans should be excited for a Season 6 that will surely have a lot of fun moments, but perhaps none better than the upcoming Halloween episode ("Nightman on Elk Avenue"), where Freddy Krueger will make an appearance and be played by Robert Englund.

The 71-year-old actor first appeared as Krueger in A Nightmare on Elm Street in 1984 and of course reprised the role in countless horror movies during the next 20 years.

Englund said last year that he would never play Krueger again, so this episode will undoubtedly be a treat for both The Goldbergs and Freddy fans.

The season starts with a trip to Atlantic City, a spot that was very important to Executive Producer Adam Goldberg when he was growing up.

"Some of my fondest childhood memories back in the '80s were down the shore in Atlantic City," he said.

"Our family has owned a house in Ventnor for nearly 50 years, which has been passed down through the generations.

I'd spend my summers on the beach, walking the Boardwalk and going to the casino arcades and Ocean One mall on the pier.

I knew I had to work Atlantic City into an episode of my show to pay tribute to a place that meant so much to me growing up.".

The season premiere is titled "Sixteen Candles," followed by "You Got Zuko'd" and "RAD!".
