You could win $5,000.

(Tyler yells)

Yes, sir.

WAYNE: Here's how.

Now on this board, we have four statements.

In inches, the height of a regulation bowling pin.

Number of levels found in the White House.

In dollars, the retail price of the original Barbie

sold in 1959.

Total weeks Robin Thicke's "Blurred Lines" was number one

on Billboard's Hot 100 chart.

If you can pick out the statement whose answer falls

within the 10 to 15 range, you win.

- I studied all four of these, so.

WAYNE: All right, well then, you should have no problem

with the five grand.

(crowd yells suggestions)

- Bowling pins.

WAYNE: Okay, in height, the... okay.

Now, you're sure about that?

- Yes.

WAYNE: Okay.

Then you don't want my sure thing,

which is inside this big box.

JONATHAN: It's a barbecue package.

- Oh!

WAYNE: You could take that right now.

That's yours if you want it.

JONATHAN: Host an outdoor roast with this stainless steel

charcoal grill featuring a large cooking area, food prep shelf,

and air float controls.

From Bull, changing the way you barbecue.

Plus, take your cookout on the road

with a heavy duty cooler, a portable camping grill,

and $500 worth of gourmet meat, wine, and desserts

from Omaha Steaks.

This deal is worth $2,779.

WAYNE: Now I know that your friends are saying,

"5,000, bro!"

But if you're not right, you're not right.

But if you are right, you get $5,000.

So, are you certain that, in inches, the height

of a regulation bowling pin falls between 10 and 15 inches?

(crowd yells suggestions)

- Yes.

WAYNE: All right.

You're right!

(crowd cheers)

You've got five grand.

Is Russia Winning? | World War 3 II - Duration: 4:37.

There is a specter haunting Europe.

The Russian Bear has awoken and presents a new threat to peace and security.

In almost three years of Machiavellian politics and non-linear warfare, Russia has taken over

very little of a country that's basically half Russian?

Never Mind, in the Baltics, Russia's overbearing power has succeeded in dramatically accelerating

NATO's militarization of the Russian border.

Ummmm.

Let's move on to Syria.

In five years of brutal fighting, unleashing the savage power of World War II era bombing,

Russia has successfully defended a little less than half of the territory of one their

only foreign allies.

Against a bunch of yahoos who spend more time fighting each other than they do fighting

Assad.

Are you beginning to see the problem with the narrative here?

No matter where you look you'll find a US journalist or a government official desperately

trying to convince us that Russia is a real threat to our security.

Weirdly this is a collaborative effort between the Western Media and the Russian government

itself.

In May of 2016, when Russia threw an odd victory concert in the ruins of Palmyra, the BBC and

company were all there in force to cover it.

When the Syrian and Russian militaries were thrown out of Palmyra seven months later,

by a bunch of Video-gamers with Toyota mounted machine guns, it was barely mentioned.

In the aftermath of the 2016 election, this commentary has reached a fever pitch.

Democratic voters, who used to be slightly less enthusiastic war mongers, have latched

on to Russia as one of many excuses for their loss.

DEMOCRATIC POLITICIANS HAVE ALWAYS BEEN ENTHUSIASTIC WAR MONGERS.

The story seems to be that Russia unleashed the awesome power of teenagers with laptops

and a state-run TV channel to corrupt our democracy or something.

If you look at these stories with anything like critical thinking, it's pretty clear

that they are blown out of proportion.

As I've pointed out elsewhere, Russian maneuvering has neatly highlighted the arrogance and foolishness

of a bunch of US policies.

It's not an indication of Russian strength, or the new cold war that the US military industrial

complex so desperately wants.

In fact, If you look a little more closely at how Russia is actually doing the picture

is quite different.

The country is a pale shadow of what it was in 1989.

Russia is barely keeping it together.

Consider some events from the last month.

On December 19th, Andrey G. Karlov, the Russian ambassador to Turkey was murdered during a

speech he was giving in Ankara.

What kind of superpower fails to keep its representatives safe?

I suppose there's not much you can do to stop a lone gunman, but the fact that the

killer was able to make a speech before he was stopped is just embarrassing.

This pattern of haplessness turned even more tragic on Christmas day.

A Russian military choir was among the 92 people killed when a Russian military plane

disintegrated shortly after take-off from Russia.

If it had made it to Syrian airspace, there at least would have been some propaganda value

there.

Terrorists could have been blamed.

Instead it's just another illustration of Russian incompetence.

The power of Russia is nothing to be feared.

What we should be afraid of is Russian weakness.

The fact that everybody in Washington, DC is now gearing up to fight a new cold war

is a real problem.

If we go too far, we risk turning Russia into a failed state.

A failed state with nuclear weapons.

That is a vastly more likely doomsday scenario than a real war between Russia and the United

States.

If World War III ever happens Russia is not going to be the enemy.

Like France 75 years ago, It's far more likely to be a battleground.

Taiwanese Food (Xiao Long Bao - 小籠包): Eating soup dumplings at Din Tai Fung (鼎泰豐) in Taipei, Taiwan - Duration: 13:53.

Hello again from Taipei (臺北市).

Today we're on a bit of a food mission.

We've been hearing about Din Tai Fung (鼎泰豐 - 鼎泰丰).

Apparently, they specialize in soup dumplings.

So that is what we're going to try today.

We absolutely love dumplings so any excuse for us to eat dumplings is always a good one

and yeah it is another rainy day in Taipei (臺北市) so we figured let's plan our day

around food.

Let's go eat.

Yes, and this place opens at ten in the morning and we are expecting huge lines.

So we're here early let's go get in line.

So we got here just as the place was opening at ten in the morning and we already have

probably about fifty people in front of us standing in line.

The good thing is they are handing out a menu to everyone who is waiting so you can have

an idea of what you want to order and then your food will be ready sooner.

So we are currently placing our order.

Of course we're going for the classic Xiaolongbao (小笼包 - 小籠包).

Gotta get those.

What else?

We're still deciding what else.

Still deciding what else.

It is a big menu.

It is a huge menu.

Look at that.

So many choices.

The location we're at has four floors and right now we're heading up to the third one.

I'm guessing the other ones are full already.

Well, we made it.

We're out of the rain and we got a table.

It wasn't that long of a wait.

No, like five minutes.

So.

No, I would say a bit more.

Okay maybe ten.

Fifteen.

Ten or fifteen but haha.

Maybe I was just so excited to be here that time is just going so fast.

Time sped up.

So our tea is already here.

They gave us free Oolong tea (烏龍茶 - 乌龙茶).

You do get free Oolong tea (烏龍茶 - 乌龙茶) and we've finally.

Oh and you also get slices of ginger as well too.

Yeah, that is where the dumplings.

That is for the dumplings and we finally decided on our menu.

So we're getting ah if you look down here we're getting pork xiao long bao (小笼包

- 小籠包) which is we're getting the ten pieces.

Oh.

And we're also getting for dessert we're getting a taro xiaolongbao (芋泥小包) and we're

only getting five of those.

So that should be sweet inside and then we also have a noodle dish.

Noodles with spicy sesame and peanut sauce (擔擔麵).

So really looking forward to that.

And is there one else oh yeah.

Sticky rice in a wrap with pork.

So that is probably going to be like a lotus leaf wrap.

So yeah we're just at this point waiting for everything to arrive and oh are we ever hungry.

We basically skipped breakfast for this.

Alright so before coming here we were reading the history of the place and apparently the

man who started this Yang he used to run a shop where he sold cooking oil and like that

was his business but apparently when that industry started to change and people weren't

buying as much cooking oil anymore he had to come up with a new business idea so he

and his wife decided okay we're going to sell soup dumplings and like they became such a

huge hit that today they have locations not only across Taipei (臺北市) and Taiwan

(中華民國) but also around the world in places like LA, Hong Kong.

So yeah, pretty cool story and now we're waiting for the food.

This is the look of excitement.

So the star of the meal has arrived.

The Xiaolongbao (小笼包 - 小籠包) is here on the table in real life.

And this is cool.

So you eat it with a special sauce and they actually give you instructions on how it is

done.

So here in the restaurant they actually give you a guide how to enjoy Xiao long bao (小笼包

- 小籠包).

This is how you eat it.

Um, and they basically explain how to prepare the sauce so we're going to try our hand at

this.

The waiter actually wanted to make it for us and we're like no.

We are filming this.

Haha.

So allow me to demonstrate.

Okay so first up we have our little plate with ginger right here.

So it says put some soy sauce and vinegar.

So it is one part soy sauce.

One part soy sauce.

And three parts vinegar.

I'd say that is about the right vinegar.

Next up we grab our little Xiaolongbao (小笼包 - 小籠包) and dip it into the sauce.

Once it has been dipped we place it on the spoon.

Let us see what is next.

Oh, let's not forget you have to poke a little hole to let out the soupy broth that is hiding

in there.

Can you see that.

Oh my gosh.

Oh wow look at it seeping out.

Pouring out.

And then then you take some of the ginger from the plate add it on top and it all goes

in in one bite.

Is that too big for one bite?

Try.

Mmmm.

Is that tasty?

Wow.

That is amazing.

That is so juicy.

Oh man.

Is that one of the best dumplings you've ever had?

It really is.

I'm so glad we came here and stood in line.

This is worth it.

Okay Sam, let's see if you were paying attention to the instructions.

There is a lot going on so okay first up we're going to grab it.

I'm going to try not to break the soupiness of it.

Dip it in here.

Put it in the spoon.

Grab a piece of ginger.

No no no.

What do you do first to the dumpling?

Oh, I've got to break it open.

Release the juices.

Gotta pierce it.

Oh, there we go.

It is coming out.

There you go.

There we go.

Oh my.

Alright.

Now I'll grab a piece of ginger.

Just like that.

And all in at once.

Oh yeah.

Hahaha.

Mmmm.

Isn't that amazing?

Wow.

It is just like.

There is two things that come to mind right away and the first being the quality of the

soup inside.

So the second thing is the skin of the dumpling.

It is just so thin and it such a wonderful it is almost I wouldnt' call it a buttery

taste but it just has a nice texture in your mouth.

Yeah.

Oh, this is so good.

I was reading apparently the chefs who have been training at this they can roll out twenty

dumpling skins per minute.

Which is insane.

That is insane.

Insanity.

That is like one every three seconds.

Right?

Yeah, I know three seconds per dumpling.

Wow.

That is crazy.

Wow.

Okay so we have ordered other dishes but before we move on can we just admire this dumpling

a little bit longer.

Can you see the soupiness in there.

Is that in focus?

Yeah, you can tell.

Look at that.

And the dumpling on top you've probably noticed it has the perfect swirl.

Apparently, the chefs have to pinch it eighteen times to get that beautiful shape.

So I mean like the amount of detail that goes into this is crazy.

And it is so tasty.

So I'm just going to keep eating them.

Let's go for another.

Release the soup.

Oh la lah.

More ginger.

Let's put lots of ginger in there.

I'm not afraid of ginger.

Haha.

And in it goes again.

Mmmm.

Wonderful isn't it?

Alright, so the Xiaolongbao (小笼包 - 小籠包) is amazing but we did order more food so we

have to move on.

We did.

So we've moving on to noodles that are in a peanut and a spicy sauce (擔擔麵).

So yeah.

Yeah, peanut and sesame.

Yeah, it has got sesame.

That look so good.

So I'm just going to give it a real good mix here.

Yeah, just basically trying to soak up all of the noodles in the sauce.

Alright.

I love peanut sauce.

Me too.

So I'm super excited.

I'm really excited for this one I have to admit.

Okay.

Mmmm.

Look at you go.

Oh man.

Sam doesn't waste any time.

Wow.

You, oh it is spicy.

It is one of those things where you can tell it is spicy as soon you have it but then as

you're swallowing it is like woah.

Oh my.

So yeah, really nice and spicy.

You really taste the peanut and you also really taste the sesame sauce too.

And it is just so good.

It is kind of sweet.

It is a combination of being sweet and spicy and I just love that and the texture of the

noodles they are quite dense noodles.

So really like that.

Big hit instantly.

Okay so now I'm going to try the noodles and one of the waitresses just came over and told

us apparently we have to stir it more because there is still lots of sauce left at the bottom.

So let's obey.

Let's give it a real good mix Audrey.

Let's make sure we're doing this the right way.

That we're getting all that saucey goodness.

I think that looks good.

I can't wait for you to try this I think you're going to really like it.

Let's see.

And the one thing that we've now been in Taipei (臺北市) for this is what our third or

fourth day.

And my gosh is this ever a city for foodies.

Like if you're into food this is the place where you've gotta come.

That is amazing.

It is like so nutty.

Nutty and sweet and spicy.

It is an amazing combination of flavors.

I like this a lot.

And we weren't even going to order this.

Sam was like eh I don't know this sounds kind of plain but this is the star.

Okay, time to move on to the third dish.

Yeah, so we've got sticky rice wrapped with pork (糯米雞 - 糯米鸡).

So what I'm going to do is just try to dissect that to see.

Oh, look at that.

You can see the pork right there.

Oh my.

Oh, look at those colors.

Turn it back around.

Show us that baby.

It is so sticky.

There we go.

Look at that.

Look at those colors.

So I'm going to go in for the pork and obviously the sticky rice (糯米雞 - 糯米鸡).

That pork looks so juicy.

Oh, my gosh.

It might be like along with what the Xiao Long Bao (小笼包 - 小籠包) I actually

like that even more than the noodles and that is saying a lot because I love the noodles.

It is just that pork is so juicy and so fatty.

It has just got so much flavor to it and then the sticky rice really enhances it.

Oh, loving it.

This is just like an awesome meal man.

This is so good.

So I've already been sampling the rice and that is pretty good.

If you take a look at the plate I think what makes it so special is that is has a little

bit of fat that adds juiciness but like it is not chewy fat that you wouldn't want.

It is just like that fat that just melts in your mouth and adds flavor.

Yeah.

Exactly.

And just look at the color of that meat.

It is just so amazing.

Mmmm.

So yeah I'm going in for bite number two while you're holding the camera.

Quality control.

Look at that.

Look at the pork.

Look at those colors.

It is like a golden brown.

I know.

And literally it just melts in your mouth.

We finished every last morsel of our mains so now we're moving on to dessert.

Yeah, so we're trying Taro Xiaolongbao (小笼包 - 小籠包).

Yeah.

Going back to the Xiao Long Bao (小笼包 - 小籠包).

Okay, that is the star of this restaurant.

I can't wait to try this.

I bet it is going to be amazing.

Mmmm.

Oh yeah.

Wow.

The taro is just so sweet and then it is just so rich and creamy inside of my mouth and

so piping hot and warm.

Yeah, it was still steaming when they brought it.

It makes the perfect dessert.

Okay, so my turn to try it.

I actually had my eye on the chocolate dumplings but those cost a lot more so we figured let's

try taro instead.

So yeah, this is made with taro root.

I've never tried that before.

So I'm going to take a half bite so I can show you what it looks like inside.

Mmmm.

Mmmm.

It is like purple.

Wow.

That is like manioc.

Like sweetened manioc.

Do you like it?

Mmmm.

What do you think?

It was not what I was expecting but it is not bad.

Lasting impressions of Din Tai Fung (鼎泰豐 - 鼎泰丰).

Oh, this place was fantastic.

Not only was the food really good but the service was very attentive.

So in terms of the price point looking here it is five hundred and twenty eight Taiwan

dollars which is sixteen dollars and fifty cents US.

So you're looking at roughly eight dollars per person and that was for four different

things and unlimited tea.

And it includes the service charge.

Yeah.

So I mean that.

How can you get better value than that?

I mean we're leaving full.

We're leaving satisfied and it also didn't cost a fortune either so highly recommend

this place.

I know for a fact we'll be back again before leave Taipei (臺北市).

So somebody got a little souvenir to remember their meal here.

So I like the quality of the chopsticks so much here that I got a set for us.

So we each get our own set and this will be for our future house.

Haha.

Why Fruits and Vegetables Have Become Less Nutritious - Duration: 6:56.

Why Fruits and Vegetables Have Become Less Nutritious.

by Edward Morgan.

Due to currents levels of soil depletion, genetic modification and pesticides, crops

grown decades ago were much richer in vitamins and minerals than the varieties most of us

get today.

But whats the nutritional difference between a carrot in 1950s and one today?

Higher antioxidant levels, lower pesticide loads, better farming practices all lead to

a more nutritious end product when choosing organic over GMO foods.

But the primary culprit in this disturbing nutritional trend is soil depletion: Modern

intensive agricultural methods have stripped increasing amounts of nutrients from the soil

in which the food we eat grows.

Sadly, each successive generation of fast-growing, pest-resistant carrot is truly less good for

you than the one before.

A landmark study on the topic by Donald Davis and his team of researchers from the University

of Texas (UT) at Austins Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry was published in

December 2004 in the Journal of the American College of Nutrition.

They studied U.S. Department of Agriculture nutritional data from both 1950 and 1999 for

43 different vegetables and fruits, finding reliable declines in the amount of protein,

calcium, phosphorus, iron, riboflavin (vitamin B2) and vitamin C over the past half century.

Davis and his colleagues chalk up this declining nutritional content to the preponderance of

agricultural practices designed to improve traits (size, growth rate, pest resistance)

other than nutrition.

Other findings published in the Journal of Agricultural and Food Chemistry showed that

organically produced apples have a 15 percent higher antioxidant capacity than conventionally

produced apples.

Efforts to breed new varieties of crops that provide greater yield, pest resistance

and climate adaptability have allowed crops to grow bigger and more rapidly, reported

Davis, but their ability to manufacture or uptake nutrients has not kept pace with

their rapid growth.

There have likely been declines in other nutrients, too, he said, such as magnesium, zinc and

vitamins B-6 and E, but they were not studied in 1950 and more research is needed to find

out how much less we are getting of these key vitamins and minerals.

The Organic Consumers Association cites several other studies with similar findings: A Kushi

Institute analysis of nutrient data from 1975 to 1997 found that average calcium levels

in 12 fresh vegetables dropped 27 percent; iron levels 37 percent; vitamin A levels 21

percent, and vitamin C levels 30 percent.

A similar study of British nutrient data from 1930 to 1980, published in the British Food

Journal, found that in 20 vegetables the average calcium content had declined 19 percent; iron

22 percent; and potassium 14 percent.

Yet another study concluded that one would have to eat eight oranges today to derive

the same amount of Vitamin A as our grandparents would have gotten from one.

Tomatoes grown by organic methods contain more phenolic compounds than those grown using

commercial standards.

A study published in the Journal of Agricultural and Food Chemistry analysed the phenolic profiles

of Daniela tomatoes grown either using conventional or organic methods, finding that those grown

under organic conditions contained significantly higher levels of phenolic compounds than those

grown conventionally.

What can be done?

The key to healthier produce is healthier soil.

Alternating fields between growing seasons to give land time to restore would be one

important step.

Also, foregoing pesticides and fertilizers in favor of organic growing methods is good

for the soil, the produce and its consumers.

Those who want to get the most nutritious fruits and vegetables should buy regularly

from local organic farmers.

UTs Davis warns that just because fruits and vegetables arent as healthy as they

used to be doesnt mean we should avoid them.

Vegetables are extraordinarily rich in nutrients and beneficial phytochemicals,

he reported.

They are still there, and vegetables and fruits are our best sources for these.

GMO Foods Are A Source of The Problem

Most nations in the world have no GMO-Free platform to protect their citizens and although

this is slowly changing, most nations are far behind places like Ecuador, Peru, Venezuela,

Egypt, Russia and others who have GMO-Free or national bans on GMOs.

Nations such as The United States, Canada, China, UK, Australia, Mexico, and most of

South America, Asia and Africa who have no formal GMO-free platforms so that they continue

their unrestricted and widespread use in all foods.

The important thing to note in these deficiencies is that these are exactly the deficiencies

in a human being that lead to susceptibility to sickness, disorders and cancer.

People who have osteoporosis are low in calcium and magnesium, people who have cancer are

low in maganese.

The list goes on and on.

A stunning report on GMO vs. organic corn posted on Moms Across America clearly showing

the nutritional value difference between GMO corn and NON GMO corn.

Non-GMO corn has 6130 ppm of calcium while GMO corn has 14 non-GMO corn has 437 times

more calcium.

Non-GMO corn has 113 ppm of magnesium while GMO corn has 2 non-GMO corn has about

56 times more magnesium.

Non-GMO corn has 113 ppm of potassium while GMO corn has 7 non-GMO corn has 16 times

more potassium.

Non-GMO corn has 14 ppm of manganese while GMO corn has 2 non-GMO corn has 7 times

more manganese.

Overall, non-GMO corn is 20 times richer in nutrition, energy and protein compared to

GMO corn.

Let's Make A Deal - Size Matters - Duration: 2:06.

Does Georgia Have a Dog Bite Law? - Duration: 1:41.

Dog-bite law in Georgia includes leash laws, and each county has to enact a leash law.

And if your dog is not on a leash and attacks somebody and whether they make contact or

not, if that person is injured you can be liable for that.

Dog bite cases are actually complex because it includes whether or not the dog had bitten

before, whether the dog had been aggressive before, and whether or not you knew or should

have known that the dog was aggressive as the dog's owner.

Now as somebody who was injured in a dog bite case, it really doesn't matter if you think

or you knew that the dog was aggressive, it matters what the owner of the dog thinks.

I know that Houston county and Bibb County have what we call leash laws, which is your

dog must be either in a fence or on a leash at all times and so your dog can't be, you

know, running around, able to attack other people.

And if your dog does attack other people, the leash law makes you liable for that.

So, your homeowner's insurance would be at risk.

A dog attack includes the dog coming at you.

So, if you fall when the dog is coming at you and you're injured, that's included even

if the dog didn't make contact.

If you are afraid the dog is going to get you and you are injured trying to get away

from it, you have a right to recover for that.

In a dog bite case, if your child is injured by somebody else's negligence, you have a

right as the parent to pursue that case for your child.

So, I would most definitely call us.

Talk with us and let us help you and let us tell you what you can do, and what you maybe

can't do.

Marquee Lights DIY - Duration: 7:01.

Today we're going to show you how to put together our 2017 marquee sign.

Now what you're going to need is a piece of foam board as well as

strips cut out of regular poster board about two inches in width.

You will also need of course your light string as well as the bulbs to fit in it.

We are using G40s with an E12 base.

And you will also need your template.

Most the time, unless you're using really small letters, you'll need to print out

the top and bottom half, cut it out and assemble it.

Now for these I went ahead and marked out where my bulbs are going to be.

That way it's just a little bit easier once you get the letters done

so you have all the number of bulbs planned out.

The marks for the bulbs are also going to help you a lot easier match up your halves.

Just tape that down.

And you have your template.

What you're going to want to do is trace it onto the backside of your foam board.

That way the front of it stays a bit neater.

And next you're going to want to take your X-ACTO.

Instead of cutting through the entire foam board make sure you're just cutting through about the top half or so.

That way when you do finish cutting out it's not jagged on the other side.

After you've cut through the foam to the middle, you can fold in down and then cut through that.

Now that we have our seven, the next part is taking your strips of paper

and making the wall that the bulbs will sit behind. Now you're just going to want to tape it on.

We're just using clear Scott shape because we're not painting ours.

If you do plan on spray-painting yours make sure you're using white painters tape.

White because it's the blue stuff will show up and make your color a little strange.

You can either bend around the edges or simply cut the strip out as long as the edge is.

Which might be easier depending on how many curves and corners your character has.

and these tight top corners might give you some trouble.

So put a piece of tape on the side that's going to connect, hold half of it down.

Slide your poster board in and then tape it.

That way it's really flush in there and you don't have like a really big gap.

Now that you have your letter assembled, take your template slide it

into it so you know where your bulbs are going.

And then take your X-ACTO and in the center of each one of your circles for the bulbs

just make really small X.

Alright so once you have all of your X's marked in the center of where the bulb is going to go.

the base of the bulb.

The easiest thing to do is take a pencil and, while holding the backside,

so you don't warp you're foam board just slowly push the pencil through

So now you have holes where your bulbs will be.

But since we are using an E12 base which is a little bit bigger than this,

I have found a highlighter with a pointy end that is about the same.

So I can use that to do the same thing, and just make your holes a little bit bigger.

And once it looks about the same as the base of your bulb take one of them and do the same thing with it.

Just so you know for sure that your holes are large enough to fit your bulbs.

Now take either your scissors or your X-ACTO, whichever is easier to use,

and trim away the excess foam board from the back of your bulb openings.

and now what you're going to want to do is think about the placement of where

you're going to start your cord based on where the bottom of the letter is where you want the connecting cord to go.

And hold the socket up against the hole.

You're going to want to hold it pretty firmly because you need to screw the bulb in until you feel it secure in there.

And make sure afterwards you plug it in and make sure all of your bulbs are really securely in the socket.

Because you'll find that you might think it's secure but it won't turn on when you plug it in.

Nine times out of 10 you just need to give it another half turn or so.

Once it is all plugged in and ready, if you want to tape down the cords, electrical tape does work best.

And that is your marquee light.

Step 5: We Need to Be More Strategic About Working for Change - Duration: 3:51.

This isn't one of those times when people are satisfied with the way things are going,

and need to be convinced of the need for change.

I mean, Gallup has been polling this question once a month, for decades.

And not once since 2005 have even 40 percent of Americans been satisfied

with the way things are going.

What that means is we don't have a problem with the will or the desire to change.

We have a problem with turning that desire into effective action.

Part of the issue is we're thinking too small.

There are 325 million people in the United States.

There are 7.5 billion people in the world.

A movement of a few thousand just isn't going to cut it.

And yet that's what we have—a lot of small yet similarly-minded groups working

on their own, when they could be working together.

Even when we are successful at amassing large numbers working together,

we still end up working at odds with each other.

The two-party system in the U.S. is a perfect example of this.

The American people are divided into two large groups, split almost exactly 50-50,

so that even though a ton of blood, sweat, and tears are poured into politics,

99 percent of it is cancelled out by the folks across the aisle.

And it's not just politics.

Sciences, religions, philosophies, ideologies, and institutions are all fighting it out

against each other for money, power, and followers.

It's a lot like the trench warfare of World War I.

Everybody's dug in. Everybody's trying to win through brute force.

And ultimately, we're being asked to give our lives for what amounts

to little more than a few miles of mud.

So many calls for social change are all about getting people riled up,

trying to make them work harder.

But I think it's much more important that we work smarter.

We have to figure out how to get millions of people to work together—

without cancelling each other out, without trying to hijack the process,

without splintering into lots of ineffective little groups.

And when we do succeed at that, we have to figure out how not to get sucked into

this nasty, unproductive quagmire that dominates our arguments today.

Because this nasty, unproductive quagmire of ideologies and institutions is the problem.

And any movement that gets sucked into it becomes part of the problem,

instead of part of the solution.

It's a lot easier said than done.

But we aren't lacking in the will.

We're just lacking in the execution.

That's why what I want to come out of this project is a concrete, realistic plan,

based on a strong analysis of our situation and lessons we can learn from

previously successful social movements, that will disrupt this trench warfare style of social change

we're stuck in, and help produce a better, more productive way to turn our desire for change into action.

My Top 11 Tips || Photography Advice From A Beginner Photographer. #GoldensPhotography #BGWAC - Duration: 12:12.

Hey guys welcome back to my world my name is

Golden Minette for those who don't know

and welcome to the Golden Life.

Today's video is suggested by a subscriber of mine her name is "ThisIsFadzi"

and she had asked

Could you please do a video on photography tips. Photoshoot tips, how to charge, making the client feel comfortable, finding good locations etc.

But yes! I will give you my best advice as I can.

but I am not a pro at this yet, I'm still a beginner photographer

but Iguess everyone has a different

experience, different input outlook

perspective

yeah so I' guess I could give you my advice

my tips on photography

I'm going to start off with the

first tip obvious tip that every photographer should know

always have extra batteries and SD cards

this helps a lot

cause it's awkward enough when you run out of space

or if your camera just dies

so always charged up and have extra batteries for backup.

Tip number two, this is another obvious thing. I am a cheap person I don't

believe in spending money but I have this

fanny pak. Let's bring this back you guys.

this helped a lot to put my camera stuff

like my extra lens and my batteries and my SD card

like this it's easy

that is what I use or a book bag

with me. I don't like to spend money

on those extra, what is that word? (couldn't think of the word but camera bag is what I was trying to say) lol

I like to save money and use what I have.

Tip number 3 and speaking of lens

this lens I recommend if you don't have it already.

it's called 50mm

it is a great lens for weddings and if you want to capture the details

of things or anything, so this is good quality as well only thing about it

only thing I hate about it is I wish it could zoom in and out.

You have to backup yourself and move forward.

yeah extra lens I recommend.

find it on eBay, Amazon one of those websites

Tip number four and this is where it get's real.

do not get intimidated.

from my experience I use to get intimidated a lot

very insecure

obviously someone is hiring you they like

work so don't don't feel (that's my struggle)

don't feel intimidated or insecure like yourself style is different

for me i was so insecure, I remember I did a wedding

and there was another photographer at the

wedding as well and this is probably going to happen

a lot but I was so intimidated

like "Omg what if their pictures comes out better than mine".

just really insecure and I

as to focus on how their pictures

are probably going to look better than mine and not

worry about what I should be doing as a photographer

my own thing and I've missed out

on a lot of shots that I could have taken but

because my insecurities really being

intimidated by a person that I miss that

shot but you know I guess the pictures came out okay.

okay but like that's really can hinder

you do not be intimidated not feel insecure

because it would affect your pictures

it will show in your photos as well

I am telling you you have to love what you do

if you are not feeling the event. I don't know what to tell you lol

you really have to suck it up and do

ya don't know what that was but you

would have to like push through and

really enjoy it because it will really

effect your pictures.

Tip number five, my favorite because practice makes perfect.

it doesn't but it makes a difference.

you always have to practice like you really....

it's like basketball and just gotta practice to get better but

um take advantage of those

photo a challenge on instagram, I take advantage of that.

Because it challenges me creatively and motivate me to

really get out of my comfort zone and take

pictures or make your own and have other

people join you, you know just to connect and

communicate that's how you network

and built a community with that.

I got thirsty

Practices makes a differences so do that.

take advantage of those challenges

Number six

the hard part, charging people.

this is where it get's awkward for me.

um luckily I was blessing enough to

make money my 1st year photography

successfully and I'm still to this day surprise

that people payed me to take their pictures

and I've been in a lot of awkward situations

like one situation where I told a client

I will charge them 175

and they assumed I said 135

you will get that a lot, people will get you to lower your price.

but you have to stand firm.

you know your worth don't settle

that's what I did I settle a lot

kind of skin right back i can forward

you but if that's really happening again

let them beat them is also not worth

your time and money the cheap this is to

say but i'm charging people i talked

about this on a quality I get the photo

and my experience like I isar off part

of the 50 to 75 not just with like I

don't with portrait photos link

headshots tho simple was that an hour

but you don't like 30 minutes if you

give them some good job in 30 minutes so

i try to get some hours and bass all my

quality that's what I based on and off

like me i didn't i didn't turn out just

before because i feel like my quality my

photo skills in that great to be talkin

people be five dollars for a shot like

you don't like people be painting that

has that but me I like harder because

i'm not there yet

you know but be confident that I'm gonna

tell you how much you charge was an act

like you should know your worth

but i do recommend to charge up to a

hundred and having up depending on

situation like it's like a wedding do

you want 500 could again be careful talk

for adoption which was the dog out lots

of it like to grow and just for me but

I'm charge based off what you feel

comfort you deserve and that's what I've

charge i looked on charging people make

sure they pay you after their photo

shoot

they don't have the money that's the

picture you don't get the picture

why don't you give you the money I think

the picture you know and always you know

you must be are including with your

photos to give nice things but USB that

part of the package of your photography

stuff

yeah I'm number seven this is the

question also acts is having possible

comfortable again this is kind of tough

one because I feel like you just use

this is where person and come back like

you got engaged with their maybe get to

know them and I gotta act like their

friends like really thats know that

question not difficult to cure my sister

what some people I know what let's give

up the weight so I take pictures two

different angle we don't bc the way so

that's one thing you can make them feel

secure about you know we engage with

them and gets really good really know

this half doing stuff like I feel like

any thoughts ? google and like pictures

poses so I person to know what to do

because it's one thing is we are you

doing Adam do anything right

I don't like you you're the photographer

you worship me in charge

you're not even you should know what's

good what it's going to look good that

closer look at all that person that you

should know that and you want to make

them feel like they wanted not only like

making you feel like that model so at

Google and more interest in photography

poses going to kind of stuff that really

helps a lot

this is amazing i'm taking number 9

finding locations this depends on what I

GMO corn.

Haha.

Is Your Post-Op Pain Caused by a Surgical Error? - Duration: 2:12.

We had a case involving a 24-year-old female, who a doctor didn't know why she was complaining

of pain.

He did laparoscopic surgery, it ended up that while he was in there just looking around

through the scope, which is, you just make a couple of small incisions on the sides and

that the belly button and go in with the camera you look around to see if there's anything

wrong causing this which we found that to be a very unusual procedure to do on a 24-year-old

to begin with.

Turned out what had happened when he was in there was he had cut her bowel.

He didn't know he had done it.

Of course he didn't do it on purpose.

If he had simply said "come back in, I think something's wrong.

You're complaining of too much pain for what I did to you."

They called four times over the course of the next week.

Finally the mother called and said "I'm taking her to the emergency room."

She ended up with 1 million dollars in medical expenses.

She was transferred by Life Flight to Atlanta, stayed in the hospital in a coma for a month.

I mean she totally went through hell because the physician didn't give legitimacy to her

complaints of pain following a surgical procedure.

He didn't even have her come back in.

When do you know to call a lawyer?

Well when something like that happens you're in a bad position.

You don't understand why the doctor didn't call you back, didn't listen to your complaint,

and then it turns out you're right.

It's something terrible.

That's when to call lawyer.

It doesn't cost anything to get your questions answered and people feel a lot better.

Someone on their side has looked at it and said "you were not malpractice" or "yes

you were this should be proceeded on it should never have happened."

And that's what we do and I believe it's a real service to the medical profession and

it's a service to the public in general.

Sarah Silverman and John Turturro Talk About Meryl Streep's Speech | Splash News TV - Duration: 1:07.

Sarah!

Why is this happening?]

That's Sarah Silverman at Los Angeles International Airport, and when she was asked about Meryl

Streep's speech at the Golden Globe Awards, she backed the Oscar Winner wholeheartedly.

Everyone is talking about Meryl Streep's speech last night?

Ah, so good.

Did you love it?

I loved it, yeah.

There's a lot of controversy surrounding it though.

Donald Trump actually tweeted.

We had bets whether he would respond or not, and he did.

He should act busy.

We also caught up to John Turturro as he was catching a flight out… and while he wasn't

quite as enthusiastic, he seemed to be okay with Meryl's speech too.

I've got to ask, how do you feel about Meryl Streep's speech last night?

It's good.

Guess John is a little more reserved, but it appears Hollywood has no problem backing

one of their own.
