and good morning and welcome back to another episode of "OMG! We're more German than Germans"

it's been a while since the last time I recorded one, so I decided

well... I had like an idea

and I did... look what a nice braid!

Today I couldn't be more German than this!

Let's talk about Christmas markets!

Look! I have a sweater with reindeers and I'm not sure you can see it

edelweisses! I'm so German today!

I just got back from Austria and I've realised something

we went up there, we saw the markets

Markets are a traditional thing up there

they do them here as well

because, sa I explained in another video: whatever they do

in Bolzano or Austria, we have to do it better and more German

so when they have a good idea, we do the same

so, now we do Christmas markets as well,

in Piazza Fiera in Trento

which is this square in the middle of the city, very nice, with walls all around

... it's a couple of huts, no big deal...

we sell biscuits... there are... nice things you can buy

those knicknacks you find in any Christmas market. Like Christmas balls...

bookmarks with dried flowers...

those traditional things... honey, zelten...

which is a traditional cake from my region that I don't like

so I won't show you how to prepare it, because I never do it

and, well... you can buy all these things

in the middle there's this part where you can grab something to eat

like knödel, krauts, I guess... because it's all traditional food

barley soup... those who like these things go there to eat

what I've noticed is that here is all polished

we have these nice huts with LED lights

they look so... traditional!

When you thing of an Alpine hut... we have it all!

When I went to Austria, I've seen their markets

and, well theirs are not that nice!

They have these makeshift huts... dunno...

they look like someone came, they needed a shelter

and they built it rough and ready

whilst we have these that are so pretty

and refined

there's the roof with fake snow on it

they're so typical and show off so well...

some think I'm serious when I make these videos

and tell me: "no, it's not like this, it's because..."

"you don't understand". I know...

I'm like this, but above all, my intention

isn't explaining how the world works

I just show what I see

and laugh about it. Since some don't get it

I'll explain it slowly. Maybe I can put

subtitles: IT'S IRONIC!

Not serious. Not take serious.

I can't speak anymore...

Don't take this seriously...

and let's go on! Here, I'll show you what I'm talking about

let's say: we copied their idea

and we added the Italian touch

ours are more artsy

and especially we can advertise them better

because you see our background, you see theirs

and wonder: "why should I get to Austria? I can go to Trento..."

"and see these stylish huts..." speaking of which

I'm officially asking the Tourism Promotion Agency for a sponsorship

because I'm doing some pretty good advertisement here...

next year I deserve my own hut!

Gov't to cover half of shipping cost for local companies importing eggs until Feb. 28 - Duration: 1:50.

The nation's worst-ever outbreak of bird flu and the massive culling of poultry birds to

stop it... have led to a critical egg shortage.

But by the end of this month, the government plans to start sourcing eggs from the United

States... and it'll cover half of the shipping costs for companies bringing them in.

Kim Hyo-sun reports.

To counter an unprecedented surge in the price of eggs,... the government will start importing

eggs from the United States ahead of the Lunar New Year holiday at end of January.

The Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs on Friday laid out specific support

plans for egg imports, under which local companies bringing them in will get a 50-percent subsidy

for their shipping costs until the end of February.

For each ton of eggs imported by air, they'll get up to 1 million Korean won, or about 840

U.S. dollars.

And for sea transport they'll get about 75 dollars.

The agriculture ministry estimates that the initiative will cost about 900-million Korean

won, or about 750-thousand U.S. dollars overall, and says it will consider extending its support

based on the nation's egg prices... and supply and demand.

One local distributor is already known to have signed a contract with an American firm

to import 1-point-8 million fresh eggs by air.

And the nation's quarantine authorities have confirmed that, in the U.S., 14 egg producers

have sought approval from Korea's Ministry of Food and Drug Safety as of Friday morning.

The agriculture ministry said it's finalizing talks with its U.S. counterpart to prepare

the necessary quarantine procedures.

It's also in talks with the governments of Spain and New Zealand.

Samsung Electronics, LG Electronics unveil Q4 earnings estimates - Duration: 2:49.

Korea's two biggest tech companies released their earnings guidance for last year's fourth

quarter.

While Samsung Electronics celebrates a better than expected result,... LG saw a three-month

period in the red.

Kim Min-ji breaks down the contrasting digits for us.

It's the best report card in more than two years for Korean tech giant Samsung Electronics.

The company is estimated to have posted an operating profit of nine-point-two trillion

won,... or roughly seven-point-eight billion U.S. dollars, in the fourth quarter of last

year.

That's up almost 50 percent from the same period in 2015.

Sales came to about 45 billion dollars,... down zero-point-six percent on-year.

The forecast on operating profit beats a market consensus by almost a billion dollars... and

is the first time to top the nine trillion won mark since the third quarter of 2013.

It's also a significant turnaround from the four-point-three billion dollars it posted

in the third quarter -- which reflected losses from the ill-fated Galaxy Note 7 smartphone.

"This time it's mostly semiconductor play.

More than half the profits is coming from the semiconductor division.

But that's also propelled by the smartphone market.

You can see the feature sets in smartphones is getting richer and more improved.

So the required memory content has to increase, so that's boosting the memory division.

But Samsung's mobile division isn't enjoying the extra boost they used to have in the Q4

because they don't have the Note 7."

For local rival LG Electronics, however, it wasn't such a rosy picture -- with its operating

income turning to the red.

The company is estimated to have posted an operating loss of almost 30 million dollars

in the fourth quarter of last year.

That compares with a profit of 292 million dollars for the same period in 2015.

Sales are expected to come in at 12-point-3 billion -- up one-and-a-half percent from

a year ago.

"It seems LG's smartphone division appears to have posted a greater loss in the fourth

quarter,... as its flagship model wasn't the best seller.

On top of that, it has been streamlining its mobile business,... and the costs from that

will likely be reflected in the fourth quarter."

On top of that, rising panel prices and seasonal factors, are expected to have also hurt profits

of LG's traditional cash cows -- like its home appliances and home entertainment sectors.

The two companies will release their final earnings reports -- with a breakdown of performance

by unit -- later this month.

Do you work before 10am?

You�re likely laughing at the question, as your alarm forces you out of sweet dreams

and you play mind games each and every morning to pull yourself from the covers, douse yourself

in water, drink a cup of coffee, and head to the office.

If you consistently dread getting out of bed before you�re ready, you�ll be happy to

know Oxford University is on your side.

Here at CE we believe the same thing!

So long as our team is in by 10:30AM the latest, you can come in anytime you like before that.

The institution claims that forcing staff to start work before 10am is torturous and

making people sick, stressed, and endlessly exhausted.

They reason that, before the age of 55, adults� circadian rhythms aren�t in sync with the

typical 9-to-5 working hours.

Forcing our bodies to break nature is actually a �serious threat� to our happiness, our

mental state, and even our work performance.

Dr. Paul Kelley of Oxford University urges the necessity for societal change, in which

work and school times reflect the natural body clocks of humans.

�This is a huge society issue,� Dr Kelley said.

�Staff should start at 10am.

You don�t get back to (the 9am) starting point till 55.

Staff are usually sleep-deprived.

We�ve got a sleep-deprived society.

�It is hugely damaging on the body�s systems because you are affecting physical, emotional

and performance systems in the body.

�Your liver and your heart have different patterns and you�re asking them to shift

two or three hours.

This is an international issue.

Everybody is suffering and they don�t have to.

�We cannot change out 24-hour rhythms.

You cannot learn to get up at a certain time.

Your body will be attuned to sunlight and you�re not conscious of it because it reports

to hypothalamus, not sight.

�This applies in the bigger picture to prisons and hospitals.

They wake up people and give people food they don�t want.

You�re more biddable because you�re totally out of it.

Sleep deprivation is a torture.�

Experiments even show that the average 10-year-old doesn�t begin focusing on academics properly

before 8:30am, a 16-year-old 10am, and university students 11am.

Dr. Kelley believes abiding by these new times would allow students� grades to increase

by 10 percent.

A former head middle school teacher, he changed school starting times from 8:30am to 10am

and found that the number of top grades rose by 19 percent.

Changing start times for companies would see a benefit as well.

Sleep deprivation is a growing concern in today�s fast paced society, yet statistics

have found that, around the world, 65 percent of people are sleeping an average of just

six hours and 27 minutes every night.

Meanwhile, it�s been found that going just one week with less than six hours� sleep

each night leads to 711 changes in how genes function.

Not getting enough sleep can result in a variety of health problems, like exhaustion, anxiety,

frustration, anger, weight gain, high blood pressure, and more.

�Just by changing the start time you can improve quality of life for whole generations

of children,� Dr. Kelley said.

�There are major societal problems that are being caused by that.

But the opportunities are fantastic.

We have an opportunity here to do something that would benefit millions of people on Earth.�

In order to see how the 10am shift may be of benefit, tens of thousands of children

are starting school at 10am, thanks to a ground-breaking experiment by Oxford.

The team hopes to publish their findings by 2018.

�We have given all schools the freedom to control the length of the school day because

they are best placed to know what�s best for their communities,� a Department of

Education spokesman explained.

�Allowing more time for supervised study and extra-curricular activities has been shown

to benefit disadvantaged pupils in particular by giving them access to purposeful, character-building

activities, which is why we are helping schools offer a longer day.�

So what's in for today?

Today we are testing the

you are getting some really nice coats of laquer and the rest of the instrument will be tested by us.

The body consists of "solid wood" according to the manufacturer informations.

The neck is made of maple and topped with a Rosewood fingerboard.

Three single coils as you'd expect from a straight Strat copy, one volume and two tone controls and a 5-way-switch.

And as I realized at first glance: A factory built-in rattling noise!

And I don't know where it comes from. I even don't want to find out.

Perhaps a lucky coin?

Possibly.

Just play some nice chords okay? I can play some nice chords! Nice chords please. For sure...

I think I just hand the Jack and Danny Torrance over to you

The first aspect striking me is the string action which is way to high for me.

And could cause some problems - especially for beginners.

And with a little more crunch added.

The guitar is playable but it's a hard piece of work - because the neck is a big piece of wood!

The bridge pickup produces a piercing sound - and the other two are just wimps.

The fretends aren't neither filed nor are the frets polished.

The scratches are so deep that the strings make horrible noises.

But does she handle metal... the all-decisive metal?

Sounds out of tune?! Impossible!

Perhaps we could blame it on the string action?

No, I just won't do it today.

Because here we have a vintage six-point trem system - there's no need to try it!

It won't take a dive bomb. No. No. No. No.

It's far too hard to operate and with just a soft touch: It does nothing.

And this was a quite heavy push now.

Now let's take a look at the strenghts of this instrument.

And now to the weaknesses.

The first and most important strength of this instrument is the price: it costs only 79,- Euros and really looks good at first glance.

The three tone sunburst is welll painted onto a.. yeah... body made of "solid wood"

the back is also painted accurately but

I see bad craftmanship on the back cover,

the fretjob is really a awesome one - Ranger Paul mentioned that before,

the wide neck profile is hard to handle for a beginner,

the trem system pushes the guitar out of tune.

We're used to this issue when dealing with six-point systems but that just doesn't make us feel better.

What we honestly don't like that much are the three pickups.

They have a weak chest.

And really no authentic Stratocaster sounds.

This leads us to the all decisive question "Golständer oder Tonne" (rock or rubbish/thrash or trash/rock or rubbish).

Tonne!

Well... Tonne! Because even these 80,- Euros are not a good investment.

And not only the price is entry level but the craftmanship leading to bad playability.

And playability is really important on your way to become a guitar hero!
