the visitor logs at the White House.
Kislyak had a meeting with one of Obama�s senior advisers, John Holdren, on September
2016 right before the election ended.

What Did Dinosaurs Taste Like? - Duration: 2:39.
You know how sometimes you're just sitting around wondering what dinosaur meat might
have tasted like?
Well chances are you might have eaten dinosaur meat recently
Technically, birds are dinosaurs.
If you look at bird skeletons, they look remarkably similar to dinos.
And over the centuries, paleontologists have found lots of fossils – from Archaeopteryx
to Ornithomimus – that suggest modern birds are direct descendants of dinosaurs.
Because biologists classify things based on relatedness, that makes pigeons, falcons,
and every other modern bird a living dinosaur.
So that chicken pot pie you had last night, or those game day buffalo wings – that's
all delectable dino.
In fact, you could say that dinosaur is actually the most popular meat in America.
Of course, when most people think of dinosaurs, they mean the extinct, non-avian kind.
So would those dinosaurs have tasted like chicken?
Well, even among birds today, there's quite a range of flavors: chicken is different from
turkey; turkey is different from duck…
There's even emu.
A lot of different factors could have affected the flavor of dino meat.
Meat, after all, is muscle, and muscle fiber comes in two varieties.
Slow-twitch fibers are what we know as red or dark meat.
They're used for lower-intensity, longer-duration activities like walking around.
The dark color comes from a protein called myoglobin, which binds iron and supplies oxygen
to these constantly hungry muscles.
Fast-twitch fibers, on the other hand, make up white meat, and are used for occasional
bursts of intense activity – like a chicken using its breast muscles to flap its wings.
Because these fibers really only need energy every now and then, they rely on glycogen,
a stored form of sugar, and don't have as much myoglobin, so they look white.
Fast-twitch muscle isn't worked out as much, so it's more tender, but it has less flavor.
Dinosaurs would have different amounts of white and dark meat depending on their lifestyles.
An herbivore like Brachiosaurus that was constantly on the move in search of food might be heavy
on the dark meat, while a predator that specialized in sudden bursts of movement like a velociraptor
would have more white meat.
What an animal eats also has a big effect on how it tastes – think of the difference
between a burger made from grass-fed cows and one made from cows raised on grain.
There were a few grain-eating dinosaurs, and lots of others dined on plants, so you would
have had your pick.
Back in the Mesozoic, dinosaurs were usually the ones chomping down on mammals, but you
would have a least one fellow dino-diner.
In 2005, researchers discovered a fossil of an opossum-sized mammal that had the remains
of a baby dinosaur in its gut.
So, even if we can't pinpoint the exact flavor profile of dinosaur meat now, rest
easy knowing that your ancestors had a pretty good idea.

Who exactly Williams will be playing in the young Han Solo joint is still a closely guarded
secret, but feel free to speculate away and hopefully he'll be channeling some Omar Little

What we do know is that the young Han Solo movie went into production last week and will
be the next non-main star wars entry bookending last year's Rogue One a Star Wars Story and
following this year's Star Wars Episode eight The Last Jedi.

Could the Film �Arrival� be the Blueprint for Our Collective Spiritual Awakening
Since I saw the film �Arrival� a couple months ago, I can�t get it out of my head.
It is changing the way I think, much in the same way that the protagonist�s worldview
changes as she learns the language of the aliens she is studying.
The film outlines both the possibility for and the necessity of international and intergalactic
cooperation, as well as introducing a new orientation to time that is nonlinear. The
effect for me was an illuminating remembrance of our universal interconnectivity. As the
aliens proclaim in the film: �There is no time. Many become one.�
I�ve been so moved by the idea of spiritual unification that the movie taught me, I�ve
been trying to spread the good news. After speaking to many, I learned that most people
who saw it didn�t fully understand the storyline. So before I start explaining why I think it�s
so brilliant, please excuse a brief plot summary (spoiler alert)�
�Arrival� follows expert linguist Dr. Louise Banks (Amy Adams) as she works to understand
the language and intentions of a species of aliens who have inexplicably descended earth.
The aliens, dubbed Heptapods as their nearly featureless grey bodies are supported by seven
spindly legs, write in circular logographs penned via a single squirt of buoyant ink
from their tentacled palms. Over time Dr. Banks is able to translate that the Heptapods
have come to earth to share a gift with humans. It is unclear in translation whether this
gift is a �weapon� or a �tool�.
Influenced by a particularly reactive Chinese Military General, world governments react
to the message by declaring a global war against the Heptapods, in fear that the aliens are
attempting to wipe out human civilization by gifting us weapons to use against one another.
Dr. Banks is the only one who can stop imminent world destruction when she discovers that
the gift from the Heptapods is their language itself, which when learned allows for a circular,
nonlinear, simultaneous perception of time. The Heptapods explain, �We help humanity.
In three thousand years, we need humanity help. Louise sees future. Weapon opens time.�
Realizing her newfound gift, Dr. Banks is able to receive information from Chinese General
Shang in the future, which allows her to convince him in the present to stop the war. This time
paradox is like a palindrome: it�s causality can be read both forward and backwards. The
same is true of the Heptapod�s mission: they help us because later they need our help.
The film itself plays like a palindrome, where the beginning and end of the story are the
same, both arcing toward a meaty middle.
�Arrival� is one of the first blockbuster films to expand beyond linearity, duality
and the dominant masculine paradigm of �us versus them�. I have been waiting a long
time for this, longing for it with all my heart. I thought �Avatar� might be going
somewhere until the spiritual natives conclude the only way to stop the greedy military is
to wage a war. Go figure.
There�s a popular maxim that the only way opposing forces will unify is to share a common
enemy. This idea only exists within the dualistic masculine frame of competition and aggression.
In �Arrival�, U.S. Colonel Webber (Forrest Whittaker) describes it perfectly: �I need
to explain all of this to a room full of men who�s first and last question is, �How
can this be used against us?��. Most modern governments and forms of entertainment are
oriented around a zero-sum game in which someone wins and someone loses.
�Arrival� teaches us the brilliance of a non-zero-sum game, where everyone benefits
by working together. It is one of the first major films brave enough to promote the feminine
paradigm of inclusion. Everyone gets to matter. There are no good guys or bad guys. No one
wins or loses.
I had a dream once that the halls of government were circular and drenched with natural golden
light, with soft warm-colored walls and furniture. The rooms were round and sepia-toned like
a womb. Because the architecture was feminine, the laws passed inside were human-centered
and compassionate.
�Arrival� gave me the feeling that this is the beginning of a new age where we can
be guided by circularity and inclusion to benefit all. In the film, Dr. Banks is selected
for her mission over a male colleague because his definition of the Sanskrit word for war
is �an argument� and hers is �a desire for more cows�. I believe the feminine wisdom
of empathy is what will allow our species to expand both spiritually and galactically.
The linchpin of �Arrival� is the message General Shang gives to Dr. Banks to pass on
to his past self. It was his wife�s dying words, which were: �In war there are no
winners, only widows.� The Heptapod�s gift of feminine circular wisdom reminds us
of our unity.
After I saw the film, I got really excited remembering that another alien species�the
beasts from the planet Ixchel in Madeleine L�Engle�s young adult novel �A Wrinkle
in Time��bore an uncanny resemblance to Heptapods both physically and emotionally.
The book follows a young female protagonist through interdimensional space travel, where
she meets a benevolent race of dull grey animal-like creatures who stand upright �taller than
any man� with several limbs, and have tentacled hands through which they communicate. Just
as in �Arrival� these beasts are beacons of interplanetary cooperation and unconditional
love.
When I was in the fourth grade, I would read and re-read the sections about these beasts
under the covers, feeling inexplicably close to them. I felt a homesickness, a longing
to be with them. I couldn�t make sense of this feeling until I saw �Arrival�, because
I feel the exact same way about the Heptapods. These strange creatures give me the feeling
of home, not in the earthbound sense, but as a daughter of a benevolent universe.
This made me think of another story with a female protagonist who pioneers peaceful connection
with intergalactic beings�Jodi Foster�s character in the 1997 film �Contact�.
In the movie the aliens say to her, �You�re such an interesting species. An interesting
mix. You�re capable of such beautiful dreams, and such horrible nightmares. You feel so
lost, so cut off, so alone, only you�re not. See, in all our searching, the only thing
that makes the emptiness bearable is each other.�
I know this will sound crazy, and I can assure you I have no fascination with alien lore
or conspiracy theories, but I sincerely wonder if it�s possible whether these stories��Arrival�,
�Contact� and �A Wrinkle in Time��may actually be the first points of contact with
intergalactic species. It seems entirely plausible to me that intelligent life from other regions
of the universe may be able to influence our art telepathically, so as to gradually and
gently insert themselves into our awareness. The alien in �Contact� explains, �This
was just a first step. In time you�ll take another. This is the way it�s been done
for billions of years. Small moves, Ellie. Small moves.�
Whether beamed from a distant star or merely dreamed up on this cosmic orb we call Earth,
the gift the Heptapods in �Arrival� have come to give humanity is a potential paradigm
shift toward nondualism, away from the �us versus them� mentality with which our world,
as majestically mirrored by our current president, is currently infected. I believe that with
the right kind of thinking, we have the capacity for a collective spiritual awakening where
we can wake up as individual parts of one underlying intelligence and begin embracing
one another as sacred parts of the whole. Thank you �Arrival� for your masterful
reminder: �There is
no time. Many become one.�

Modern Mexico is a big place.
While it might pale beside Canada and the USA, it dwarfs the nations of Europe, and
is bigger than all but one of Africa's countries.
Ranked, it would be the 13th biggest nation on Earth.
But that's just modern Mexico.
The Mexico of the 19th century used to be much, much bigger.

California were all once part of the US's southern neighbor.

its founding.
Not that it was called NAUM back then.
It was the Royal and Pontifical University of New Spain.
Unlike Harvard, it also hasn't been in continuous operation.
The dictatorship closed it down in 1867, and it wasn't reopened until the Revolution.

have been recognized as co-official languages.
The largest of these is Nahuatal.

But it's far from being the only one.
Over 700,000 people speak the Yucatec Maya language, and another half a million or so

They Had the Shortest Presidency in World History
William Henry Harrison is famous in the US for his horrendously short presidency.
The 9th President contracted pneumonia on Inauguration Day and died a single month later.
But even WHH's reign lasted longer than that of Mexico's 34th president.
By one count, it lasted nearly three thousand times longer.
Pedro José Domingo de la Calzada Manuel María Lascuráin Paredes was President of Mexico
for anywhere from an hour to just 15 minutes.
So basically he was president just long enough for someone to get through his name.
The reason for this was the crazy politics of Revolution-era Mexico.
General Victoriano Huerta had just overthrown President Madero in a coup.
Under Mexico's constitution, power of a deposed president automatically passed to
either his vice-president, attorney general, foreign minister or interior minister.
At the time, Lascuráin was foreign minister.
To make his coup look less like a coup, Huerta convinced the government to appoint Lascuráin
president.
The two men then cut a deal, and he moment he was sworn in Lascuráin appointed Huerta
his interior minister and then resigned.
Power automatically, and legally, passed onto Huerta.
To date, no other world leader has ruled for such a short time.
The closest is Diosdado Cabello, who ruled Venezuela for around six hours in 2002.
His reign was still over twenty times longer than Lascuráin's.

In Some States, There are Three Genders
Mexico's relationships with LGBT rights is… complicated, to say the least.
While drugs gangs have been known to shoot up gay bars in some states, places like Mexico
City have legalized same-sex marriage.
Then there's Oaxaca.
The southern state has an approach to trans-people that is possibly unique in North America.
Among the indigenous Zapotec people, they're legally recognized as a third gender.
Known as Muxes (Moo-Shays), the third gender are people born as men, who choose to live
instead as women.
Concentrated around the town of Juchitan, they're treated as a fact of life, in the
same way men and women are.
They own businesses, are admired for their cookery skills, and even have a yearly ball
which the mayor of Juchitan attends.
For American readers, this might seem like PC gone mad.
But the Muxes are far from a modern invention.
They've been around as long as the Zapotec themselves.
Pre-Columbian societies in Mexico tended to have a third gender of men who lived as women.
While most traditions died off with the coming of the Spanish, among the Zapotec it thrived.
In short, the Muxes have been around since long before anyone could say what the acronym
LGBT stood for.

It's Home to the World's Smallest Volcano
So, apparently Mexico has an aptitude for leading the world in the 'unlikely smallest
things' stakes.
After the record beating barely-a-presidency of Lascuráin, the country has since thrown
up yet another tiny marvel.
Welcome to Cuexcomate, the smallest volcano in recorded history.
Now, pay attention, kids, because just looking at images of Cuexcomate is about as exciting
as watching your toenails grow.
It's the facts behind it that make it fascinating.
Cuexcomate formed way, way back in 1664, an offshoot of the bigger Popocatépetl volcano.
Somehow, it began to grow… and then just stopped.
Like a kid who doesn't get any bigger after their first birthday, Cuexcomate topped out
at a mere 43 feet.
That's tiny.
You could stack 7 averagely-tall dudes on one another's shoulders, and the top guy
would be able to peer into the crater.
So small is the long-dormant volcano that no-one thought twice about building around
it.
If you want to visit Cuexcomate, you have to drive out into a suburb of Puebla, work
your way around the Volkswagen factory, and locate it among people's yards.

Net Mexican Migration to the US is Actually Negative
Mexican immigration has become a political flashpoint in the US.
While we don't want to get into the politics of it here, it's worth noting that things
may not be quite so explosive as they seem.
While plenty of Mexican still travel to the US looking for a better life, plenty more
come to the US, look around, then decide to go back to Mexico.
We know this because, according to PEW Research, net Mexican immigration to the US over the
last decade has fallen to negative levels.
This means there are actually more Mexicans permanently leaving the US than there are
arriving.
Prior to the recession, it was the other way.
The period 1995-2000 saw a net migration of 2.27 million Mexicans to the US.
The period 2009-2014, on the other hand, saw a net migration of minus 140,000.
The factors for this are manifold.
Better border policing, the Great Recession, and increasing job opportunities in Mexico
have all played a part, as has the desire to reunite with family members still in Mexico.

Mexico Once Went to War With France Over Pastries
In the annals of warfare, there can't be many dumber reasons for attacking another
state than the fate of a pastry shop.
Yet that's exactly what transpired between France and Mexico in 1838.
After a rioting mob ransacked a Mexico City bakery owned by a Frenchman named Remontel,
he sued the nation of Mexico for compensation.
When Mexico laughed him out, he returned to France and demanded an audience with King
Louis-Philippe.
Amazingly, he got it.
Even more amazingly, Louis-Philippe agreed to help him.
Paris wrote to Mexico and demanded payment of 600,000 pesos, some 600 times the value
of Remontel's shop (to be fair, some of it was for unpaid Mexican debts incurred a
decade earlier).
When Mexico balked, the French navy invaded.
They bombarded San Juan de Ulua, captured Veracruz, and blockaded the entire country.
It was only thanks to a British-brokered agreement that the war ended in early 1839.
Remontel got his money.
All in all, the Pastry War dragged on for four months, killed over 100 people, and injured
nearly 200 more.

They Briefly Had the Most-Deluded Emperor in History
Ferdinand Maximilian Joseph has the distinct honor of being just Mexico's second and
final Emperor.
A member of Europe's royal Habsburg line (the guys who ruled the Austro-Hungarian Empire),
Maximilian was just drifting along when, in 1863, he received a letter telling him the
people of Mexico had voted to make him their king.
Rather than treat it as we would an email from a Nigerian prince, Maximilian hightailed
it to Mexico and declared himself Emperor.
Bad move.
The letter had been issued by Napoleon III of France, who was conspiring with conservative
Mexicans to place a loyal French puppet on the throne.
Unknown to Maximilian, they'd chosen him as their useful idiot.
When Maximilian crowned himself emperor, it triggered a civil war in Mexico that lasted
three years.
Apparently, Maximilian didn't realize this, and thought he was a beloved, paternal figure
who'd finally found his true calling.
When the US intervened to push France's pro-Maximilian troops out, the Emperor even
refused to leave, saying the Mexican peasants needed him.
Those same peasants executed him on a hillside outside Querétaro in 1867.
The deluded reign of Mexico's last Emperor was over.

Their Capital City is Sinking
At 2,240 meters above sea level, Mexico City is one of the highest capital cities on Earth.
Only seven other capitals (out of nearly 200) sit at a higher altitude.
Pretty neat, huh?
Well, wait till you get a load of this next part.
If things keep going the way they are, Mexico City may not hold its coveted 8th position
much longer.
This is for the simple reason that the capital is sinking at an incredible rate.
Yeah, sinking.
Every year, this vast megacity, home to over 21 million people, loses roughly one meter
(3 feet) in altitude.
In the last 60 years, the entire city has dropped 10 meters closer to sea level.
That might not sound like much, so let's put it this way.
The 7th highest capital city in the world is Sana'a in Yemen.
It stands at 2,250 meters above sea level, ten meters higher than Mexico City.
Over the course of six decades, the entire Mexican capital sank so low that it passed
Sana'a, dropping from 7th to 8th place in the ranking of capitals by altitude.
The reason for this is simple: water.
Mexico City's residents draw their water from beneath the capital, draining the water
table and causing it to subside.
As the city's population keeps growing, it will sink faster and faster, until eventually
dropping out of the top 10 highest capitals altogether.
While that's still a way off yet, (Nairobi, the current #10, is nearly 450 meters lower
than Mexico City), the simple fact it could happen is mind-blowing.

then i put it on the lathe
i secure it with the tail stoke
and then i start to turning it !!!
first i use my bowl gouge
then i make a line to my tool rest so i know how long is the wood!!
i see that round nose scraper make this job better !

i didn't think before to start how to sand this piece !

How to Make oreo Cookie Shake // Make oreo Cookie Shake - Duration: 0:58.
Ingredients 1 1/2 cups of ice cream 3/4 cup of milk 3 Oreo Double Stuff cookies.
Pour in the milk and ice cream into a blender. You may also add some ice as well.
Turn the blender onto a low speed. Blend until the mixture is smooth. Mix with a spoon to fold in anything that wasn't blended enough, then continue blending the mixture.
Take each Oreo and crush them as you add them to the blender.
Turn the blender back onto a low speed. Blend everything together; you'll want either the cookies to be pureed or for about 10 seconds in total.
Pour in glasses.
