Tesla Autopilot Bikers Will Die? Kman's Tear-down of FUD Roboticists Article - Duration: 24:00.
today we are going to be talking about Heather Knight a computer science
professor at Oregon State University we put out the article just about actually
on two weeks ago in May 27th titled Tesla autopilot review bikers will die
well of course doesn't that just scream Clickbank and such it does it does
scream quick date because she barely talks about how bikers are going to die
so I have a copy of the article here printed out on the newspaper that nice
and well yeah so anyways and of course I'll recycle what I've done but let's
just go over her article first and then morph into what basically myself and
those who are familiar with him Mike had planned and we'll get to that
in just a minute so let's get down to the article Tesla autopilot review
bikers will die by Heather Knight a roboticist she goes on basically to say
her colleague and her got to test driving Tesla autopilot on highway curvy
in California roads by the ocean blah blah blah blah blah
Tesla autopilot feature is basically a button to turn on the car to turn the
car into autonomous driving mode my first response to that it's not
autonomous it is a driver assistance feature and I can't stress how many
times Tesla has stated that it is not autonomous the car will speed up or slow
down based on what's in front of it and supposedly stay in the lane supposedly
stay in the lane or follow turns of a road automatically which it does now she
put in here autopilot classified classified about 30 percent of other
cars and one percent of bicyclists but she didn't really expand on that how so
was it visually did the screen only show 30 percent of other cars
well my screen will show zero cars right now but there's one next to me there one
there one there and one there so for so I made this young
0% but guess what even though it would show zero at least it'll still show the
two that are right there in my neighbor's driveway or not show it but
it knows they're there so exactly how did it classify or which is she basing
that on the radar on the cars can track if there are 30-plus objects at a time
after the 8.0 firmware update so it is it only showing on the screen not
showing can you smile I mean you're a professor apparently on a robot assist
come on you got a degree I don't have any degrees and well I'm still smarter
than her anyways yes I am narcissistic caring um she says I'm concerned that
someone or its limitations input biker lives at risk
some will ignore its limitations kind of like you Heather Knight usual
where paragraph and a half in I mean just a tiny little bit here and she's
already called it autonomous mode and it's it's not enough time of this mode
its autopilot mode driver assistance feature so right off the bat she's
already ignoring its limitations and complaining about them her background
herself and Dylan more work for doctor Wendy Jews research group at Stanford
University's Department of Mechanical Engineering the group sometimes dubs
itself transformers because their research is half social robotics and
half autonomous driving that right there tells me that she should understand the
differences between autopilot which is a driver assistance featuring full of time
on us a little more and she is you know then then it and she's showing we often
find that insights and one domain cross applies in the other long story short
Dylan and I are familiar with the shortcomings of robot robot perception
systems and care about interface design so they already know about shortcomings
and they care about more about the interface design so the interface not
the actual function of it apparently since it's our field Wendy do had us
I could be pronouncing her last name wrong Asian my Asian names are it could
be pronounced you I'm not sure how does rent a Tesla that way our group could
experience the and I'm stressing closest thing out there to consumer autonomous
driving today and once the I'm stressing closest thing
to autonomous so she again admits that she knows it's not autonomous he goes
down goes on to break down the different features and rates them like door
handles that retract recede into the frame of the car she goes to be super
sexy but watch your fingers if you leave your fingers in there guess
what nothing happens you only can get a mark on there when gene was three he
left his hand in there you wanted to see what would happen by the time gene those
that aren't familiar genes my youngest nothing happens the door handle goes in
there you're not going to get pinched or hurt she gives an eight plus two
automatically switching she loves it intuitive reliable and super cool blah
blah yeah super cool curves car turns too late to cue human trust autopilot
doing ninety-eight percent of all my driving of course with my express
supervision of the vehicle as we go and I have to greatly disagree with that and
I am also on autopilot 1.0 she gives AC to user set target velocity she calls it
dangerous autopilot seeks to achieve the cruise control speed as long as there's
not an obstacle well no shit why would it keep speeding up if there's an
obstacle in front of you this works fine on consistent Street like a highway but
we discovered the hard way when we exited the highway onto a country road
switched on autopilot and a try they go from thirty to sixty five at maximum
Excel raishin expert users would be familiar
with this but we think Tesla can do better marks upon acceleration for
acceleration of autopilot on traction where cruise control or autopilot to
reach desired speed is actually only about one to fifth of a max acceleration
in fact I found that the autopilot or traffic aware cruise control going up to
the desired set speed is actually too slow into lethargic
where I actually help it along by pressing the accelerator oops
Shh hit the brake so I actually help it along by pressing the accelerator to
help to get up to speed at that pub with our jerk it actually is but I guess to
someone who's only rented a Tesla even one fifth of acceleration puts most cars
to shame but it's mostly the responsiveness of the car where there's
no hit the accelerator leg laying like then it starts taking off I mean
compared to like a Dodge minivan or a Geo Metro or in certain cattle box into
the line in the you know the empty space here yeah I guess it could feel like a
piece of craps maximum acceleration I don't know what she's driving as a daily
driver now situation of awareness display she
is an 8 plus that but then goes on to say not being able to classify objects
doesn't mean that Tesla doesn't see that something is there so she flat-out
admits that the car may see that something is there but given that the
lives are at stake we recommend people never use Tesla autopilot around
bicyclists why not
serious question why not she hasn't said anything about why not to use it around
bicyclists I use autopilot anywhere the car will let me actually turn it on
in fact even on firmware 7 autopilot saved a kid from getting run over by my
car how the stupid kid was either talking on his phone or playing Pokemon
go and veered off the sidewalk right into the street to catch his fake
monster kid would have been better off doing LSD or some sort of other hardcore
drug instead of you know that's how normal people find their fake monsters
instead he wasn't paying attention to what he was doing beard off the road
there was no humanly way possible that I as a driver could have reacted now once
again I'm going all the way back to firmware 7 here which had the ability to
only track about five to six objects at a time via the radar and camera system
compared to now we're to our 30 plus as well as different elevation I have a
whole video out already explaining the entire radar system Doppler radar system
of the Tesla vehicles that they use with from its Bosch hardware and just you
know talking about how the radar detects objects and guess what the car slammed
on the brakes so damn quick that nothing happened except my car came to a stop I
would not have been able to move even remove my foot from the accelerator fast
enough to move it over to the brake to be able to slow down to avoid hitting
the kid if I did not have the car on autopilot or it would work actually the
same with traffic aware cruise control the kid would be dead how do I know this
because I mean I've hit raccoons and ended up picking skull fragments out of
the titanium armor shield on the bottom of my Model S
carrying on my comment was did it detect the bikes she says never used Tesla
autopilot on bicycle didn't detect the bikes or not she doesn't say she just
says don't use it around bicyclist well then if you're just going to blanket
statement don't use it around cars don't reuse it around people haven't I gotten
to the point already where I've already shown autopilot already detects a person
walking across the road I mean we tried killing Mike link to that videos in the
description box below and we'll be in the end screen of this video but we have
tried killing Mike and Mike is still alive in the autopilot try killing Mike
on firmware 7 yes it did not detect him was it in part because of our test that
Tesla just could not do by putting an actual person out there and testing it
that maybe they developed it further to be able to detect it and firmware 8 it's
a good chance probably but either way she is on firmware 8 it can detect
people I'm going to get to know more tune up from this in a minute I want to
finish just pointing out some things in this article and then I will go and talk
about what me and Mike just did or we could go in what's coming up very soon
self locking feature we stepped out of the car to take a photo leaving the keys
in the car and this super capable intelligent car locked us out Riggs is
bog no engineers should account for how people will actually use a technology
they already did the receding door handles made this action seemed
particularly petulant my comment to this common sense 101 in self locking vehicle
don't leave your effing keys in the car
seriously even on my old truck which was not a
self-locking vehicle if I left the keys ignition on my old truck guess what and
wanted to get out of the vehicle close the door guess what I did I roll the
window down so if four somehow it did lock I could
stick my hand in and open the door oh
and you're working with or doing something what at Stanford my god this
is why I have no faith in modern universities because they're giving
degrees to complete idiots personally I think this was not a bug because this
super smart super capable intelligent car was actually I think based on this
article smarter than you Heather yeah the car was trying to keep a
complete moron from getting back in and maybe killing somebody for admittedly
ignoring everything autopilot is and making it out to be something it's not
and then complaining when it was something that it is actually not
and then she goes on to say drumroll please winner of the features Hobbit
reported her favourite pessimal features and then she said drumroll winner
situation awareness display is great because it helps the driver understand
the shortcomings of the car ie its perception sucks providing the
driver an accurate mental model of the system probably saves lives and robots
in general would benefit from communicating with their limitations
people communicating their limitations to people so it was her favorite feature
of the car yet she says it sucks it's perception sucks
and she gives us her the number one winner of her favorite features did she
not just bash this for not giving enough info and personally this car gives tons
of info shows you how to speed limit sign it shows the other vehicles all the
way around you yeah it might not show a little picture of a car okay so good
yeah my credit card payment with your cool but it might not give a picture of
the cars on the side but the screen uses its own are autopilot one had a four
foot sonar range all the way around autopilot two vehicles have an 8 foot
sonar range all the way around so it shows you where every object is
immediately around you not just that based on the radar and the camera it can
show you the all the vehicles in front of you and based on Tesla's awesome
radar software they developed not only can it see the vehicle in front of you
it can see past that vehicle to show you the vehicle in front of the vehicle in
front of you and it shows that on the damn screen
she went on to add a statement to her article added May 29 2017 thanks for all
the interesting comments questions and personal insights on Facebook Twitter
and fortune.com and medium my concern was that treating
autopilot as fully autonomous system might be a reckless for a person in a
car but fatal to a bicyclist who has a lot less protection
it's not autonomous it's not advertised as autonomous it has safeties in place
and limitations are built in based on everything and I'm linking the article
in the description box of this video but based on and I didn't cover absolutely
everything there's a lot of smaller sentences structure but based on
everything she knew the limitations of the car and it sounded like she was also
trying to bypass the limitations and defeat them she also adds additional
details someone had asked her if they were given training before being allowed
to rent the car the answer she said was no she was not given training before
renting the car was that her fault no yes and no it was the fault of the
rental company but based on what she does Heather does she should have read
up on it more also she could have read the owner's manual about autopilot if
you touch the control button on the screen go to settings and owners manual
Wow there it is driver assistance features and about the driver assistance
traffic aware cruise control I bought auto steer about auto lane change about
auto park about Lane Assist about collision assist and speed assist
overall I think this took me and this is just the on screen everything's here on
the 17 inch touchscreen display and your face probably take me 10 minutes to read
through all this you guys were actually riding along with me I'm the first time
I used autopilot on this 90 be my 90 d car my autopilot 1.0 you can see the
video where me and Jean or driving home and Wow is it amazing
there really wasn't a learning curve Tesla pretty much made it pretty much
like Apple makes their iPhones while there is an somewhat need to read the
manual it's so intuitive you really don't the car tells you everything so in
the end she just says bikers will die if she is and Tesla autopilot review bikers
will die by Heather Knight robot assists at the top it says right here computer
science professor at Oregon State University
I say flaming idiot looking for a clickbait title so besides this 20
minute teardown of her article what am I getting at well at this point you're all
very familiar with Mike and myself doing our famous human collision tests with
auto pilot started a year ago May June 4th 2017 firmware 7 did not detect Mike
we repeated our tests again and in more detail and I believe it was November
2017 after firmware 8.0 was released initial version we tested again wow what
a difference for pedestrian and human to Dec detection not only did it detect
Mike it did so flawlessly on every test so we advanced it one step further after
this article completely pissed us off so this time we didn't just do a pedestrian
detection we did pedestrian on bicycle detection and guess what
it worked great not completely flawless you'll have to wait and watch the video
but guess what it did work and it did stop and it did keep the car from
hitting the bicyclist and then only I think it was one case would it still
have probably hit the bicyclist but only because that bicyclist not only swerved
off the road but then back into the road from the side and the bicyclist really
would have just ended up purposely sideswiping into the side of the car and
bouncing off the car blasted the warnings and gave the alerts at that
point only someone completely asleep behind the wheel could have made the
situation worse so coming next week Monday which would
be where's my calendar here
there would be Monday June 26th we will be releasing our footage of the human on
the bicycle collision tests with autopilot tuned in we also did a crash
dummy test because we wanted to see what would happen now our tests are based on
reasonable speeds in 18 30 miles an hour roughly you know speeds you'd be on on
city streets where the most likely be bicycles around you but obviously for
safety and you know we tried killing Mike and failed if if we try to higher
speeds to fit for the testing and actually hit Mike Mike Mike might have
damaged my car so instead we built a radar reflective crash dummy and tried
some more tests that results were amazing so hope that you all come back
and this was a pretty venting video for me so gosh dang why do these idiots just
go running their mouths off when they have no idea I think this is another
career herder please leave the autonomous vehicles to Tesla and Sanford
University please screen who you're giving diplomas to

WHY DIGITAL MARKETERS HAVE SUCH A BAD NAME | AskMeJP #3 - Duration: 4:25.
This week on AskMeJP I'm going to talk about three things that came to my
attention I'm going to answer the question why do digital marketers have a
bad name Amazon puts in an offer to acquire the Whole Foods grocery chain at
13.7 billion dollars I'm going to talk about how brands are beginning to annoy
consumers now more than ever.
So why do digital marketers have a bad name I
I believe it's because everybody's claiming to be one and they don't have
the experience to support it when you put unethical people in an
unregulated industry people are often going to get taken advantage of I've
seen it myself I knew a woman once who spent $3,000 on a Facebook page she was
told they were a social media expert and they were going to do a ton of
optimizations and get business through the Facebook page at the end of the day
she's got a cover photo a profile photo that was taken directly off Google
Images so I've seen a lot of situations like this
another thing is digital marketers often get approached with do you guys do SEO or do
you do social media and they say yeah we do it it's $1,000 a month let's get
started right away now they either don't want to educate
you they don't care to educate you or they can't educate you because we know
that there are certain channels for certain industries and certain people
that are going to get a larger return on investment than others so just by taking
what you want is not necessarily in your best interest so what can you do so that
you don't fall into the same trap or the same situation do your due diligence
into the people themselves I personally spent years and years
building brands online on platforms such as YouTube, fiverr.com, eBay, and Amazon
I've worked in almost every industry imaginable I worked with tradesmen from
carpenters electricians plumbers to doctors and lawyers if you have a
question about a particular industry we have case studies and phone numbers to
support our claims so make sure the company that you're trying to work with
does the same This week Amazon announced they put
in an offer of 13.7 billion dollars to acquire the Whole Foods grocery chain
both stocks were lifted on the offer and traditional groceries suffered large
losses on the news with Super Value dropping more than 14 percent on the day
and Kroger losing more than nine percent so what does this mean? It means Jeff
Bezos gets richer now being the second richest person in the world
sorry Bill Gates but he's soon to be number one. Does this mean that we're
getting closer to having groceries delivered to our homes or at the end of
the day to still want to squeeze the bread before purchasing it. Let's talk
about brand annoyance so fake and inappropriate news is causing consumers
to move for more trusted sources for content consumption but about
75% of which being worried about the growing number of fake
or biased news sites 60% of which saying it's causing them to consume content for
more trusted sources and channels consumers are beginning to lose trust in
brands that are advertising near objectionable content with 37% saying it
changes how they think of the brand before making a purchase now 11% of which
are saying they'll boycott a brand or not do business with that brand based on
their advertising methods 9% will actually be vocal complain and raise
issues about it so what's the moral of the story because we're seeing a shift
in advertising brands can be annoying and too much in your face. With over 54%
of users now having an aggressive ad blocker that's over half of the
advertising market wiped out over half the people now are not seeing ads that
were once seen Google themselves just came out with a Chrome browser with a
built-in ad blocker. Is Google trying to destroy themselves here tell me what you
think in the comments section below now thanks a lot for watching this
week's episode feel free to check out next week's episode and remember if you
guys have a question and want to see a video on that particular question ask me
JP in the comment section below and feel free to subscribe for more videos in the
future

Powerful Panel Discussion Tip #107 with Scott Kirsner: The One Intolerable Situation - Duration: 1:28.
Like if there is one thing that you can say "This is one situation that I will not tolerate."
I mean the biggest thing is just no time for questions and not acknowledging the audience
that they are there.
Because like you know whether the audience is small and you're moderating a panel that
like for whatever reason only five people came to see.
You should be grateful that those five people are there.
Like I have moderated unfortunately panels I like giant ballrooms where you've had
like ten people in a ballroom that you should have five hundred people in.
And like I think you still have to acknowledge the audience is there and sort to try to figure
out how to do something that's going to be interesting or educational for them.
And then I have moderated panels in front of like a thousand people in a really full
convention center and you know the same thing you just have to let them ask questions and
find ways for them to get involved because it's not—you know we've talked about
TV a little bit.
But it's not TV.
There are live people in the room, there are people who want to interact and send you questions
via twitter or raise their hands or whatever.

🍆 Kinky Decorative Cock Tie & Leash/Tie Off Tutorial 🎀 - CBT Bondage ➰ - BDSM Skills #22 - Duration: 6:41.
in today's video we're going to be learning another cotton ball bondage tie
in this case it's going to be a decorative tie with a little bit of a
leash that you can tie off wherever you like so if that's something that you're
interested in learning stick around and we'll get right to it
hey guys it's Morgan with BDSM relationships and education thank you
very much for checking out this video and don't forget to subscribe and that
way you can keep up with all of the videos that I post doing 3 videos weekly
and we've got a whole bunch more cock-and-bull bondage videos coming up
for you if that's something you're interested in make sure that you've got
your notifications turned on and that way you see them as soon as they are
posted so today's video is going to be this cute little decorative tie and that
also works as a leash or a tile and before we get into how to do that tie I
just want to remind you that safety should always come first so make sure
that you have either a pair of safety shears with the little tab or a rescue
hook available and handy because we don't want to end up with a tie that is
too tight or that we can't get off and you know risk our partners health now in
this case I you know this tie is going to become loose as soon as the person
loses their erection so that is something to keep in mind and we also
don't want to tying it on somebody that doesn't yet have an erection because
then it can really bite into the skin and be painful and we want in that good
way so I have a couple little bundles of my preferred cock rope which again is
about maybe like somewhere between 1/4 and 1/8 of an inch braided nylon so when
I do cotton ball bondage is very much like when I do regular bondage I always
start with the rope folded in half ok so then this little fold this is the center
of the rope this is what's called the bite and then we have our working ends
here so the way that I start pretty much all of my various types of cock and ball
bondage all of my various ties is just with a larks head so a larks head knot
is very simple we just start with that bite and I reach through the bite okay
you can see there there's little loop and reaching through and I grab the rest
of the rope and I do this so this is what's known as
a lark Skype right there um so it is like the easiest thing ever in rope so
the last one that I'm going to show you is more of a decorative one and we're
going to start actually with our larks head again and again I'm gonna put it
behind the scrotum as well I can't do it on this particular dildo but we are
going to do the same thing and we're just going to tie up the shaft of the
penis so we will go up maybe like half an inch or so I mean how far you go up
is going to depend on how much penis you have to work with obviously this is
pretty damn big so we're going to go up a little bit and we're going to wrap
around and then just tuck it under and pull it through okay so that it ends up
looking like that and then we're going to continue we'll wrap around and you
see that I kind of stick my finger under there that so that I can pull that
through now this is sort of a so the cony type material it's like that real
skin feel stuff so it's quite sticky and the Rope doesn't slide very well on it
but on actual skin the Rope will slide along it'll probably be able to make it
look a little neater so we will keep going like this just you know up and
then and we'll do that until basically we get to the head the glans now on this
one it has quite a ridge I don't think most people have such a pronounced Ridge
there but that's where we're going to sort of end things now I can use this as
a leaf and leave the penis bearer around like that or
now this obviously this will come loose if I don't have tension on this end so I
could tie this off I could tie this to the person's leg I could tie this you
know to a chest harness if I wanted the cock standing up that way I could tie it
wherever I wanted I could tie it off to say a point on a bondage bed if I chose
and that way cock would be presented nicely so it really is up to you where
you want to tie that but again if you just kind of leave it it is going to
loosen up and unravel you could even just do a half hitch here and let's see
if I can actually do that because so awkward
okay so you have to go underneath there and through yeah so yeah you could do a
half hitch and I haven't done it very well there but you can do a half hitch
and that would help hold it in place um but again I'm not a fan of tying knots
Wow I'm doing cock and ball bondage just because it can be so finicky to get them
undone and especially this obviously this bondage is not going to last if the
person loses their erection it is going to you know it's going to get too loose
because the penis is not going to be so long or thick so thanks very much for
checking this out please don't forget to give me a thumbs up if you enjoyed this
video and don't forget to check out my patreon if you would like to support the
channel and support videos like this that have to be age-restricted so thanks
very much and I will see you guys in the next video

BTS RED VELVET - LET'S NOT FALL IN LOVE | V Irene, Jimin Seulgi, Jungkook Yeri - Duration: 3:32.
Let's not fall in love
we don't know each other very well yet
Actually, I'm a little scared
I'm sorry
Let's not make promises
you never know when tomorrow comes
But I really mean it when I say
I like you
Don't ask me anything
I can't give you an answer
We're so happy as we are right now
Don't try to have me
Let's just stay like this
You're making it more painful, why?
Goodbyes after our frequent meet-ups
Repetition of broken hearts
I can't find a purpose
in these foolish feelings
A mistake with the mask of love
All the feelings are the same now
But in this moment, I want you to stay
Let's not fall in love
we don't know each other very well yet
Actually, I'm a little scared
I'm sorry
Let's not make promises
you never know when tomorrow comes
But I really mean it when I say
I like you
Don't smile at me
If I get attached to you, I'll get sad
I'm afraid that pretty smile will turn into tears
Don't try to trap us
In the word, love
Because it's a greed that can't be filled
At first, it was half excitement
half worries
But in the end, it became an obligation, trial and error
Day by day, I get nervous
your innocence is too much pressure on me
But tonight
I want you to stay
Don't expect too much from me
I don't wanna lose you either
Before things get too deep, before you get hurt
Don't trust me
You're always like that
Selfish bastard
Let's not fall in love
we don't know each other very well yet
Actually, I'm a little scared
I'm sorry
I'm sorry
Let's not make promises
you never know when tomorrow comes
But I really mean it when I say

How Do I Calm My BUZZING MIND?! #AskDan from an INFP - Duration: 8:50.
Hey Dan here and in this video I'm answering a question sent in about how
do you deal with a buzzing mind in other words an ever busy always thinking
overwhelming mind now this question happened to be sent in from someone who
identified themselves as an INFP personality and I think there's some
reasoning behind that and I'll talk about that in the video as well in terms
of creative minds and how to handle this so the first thing is in terms of having
a busy mind is you're not alone this is how we are all wired and why there is
such a move towards things like meditation or a wellness practice or
whatever it is but there's definitely certain things you can do to calm this
down and have more direction not just in the moment in terms of kind of a
meditation Zen sense of having a peaceful mind but in terms of overall in
your life in terms of being less maybe reactive and changing direction a lot
and being very emotional and that sort of thing it makes sense to me that the
personality types like an INFP or an ENFP more creative types tend to have a
busy mind or have the sense of a buzz in mind and if you look at a lot of great
artists there happens to be a correlation with things like alcoholism
and drugs and I think a big part of that is trying to calm our minds and trying
to find that kind of peace because we can't turn off our heads now I'm all for
having a glass or a bottle of wine when I stay up and right at night but I also
think there's some other ways to calm your mind and get that freedom without
having to necessarily indulge so one of the absolute best ways to have more
freedom in terms of your head to calm that buzzing mind is actually believe it
or not to give yourself more structure so you probably are someone who likes
freedom you don't like to be held down by rules me too I understand but giving
yourself more structure will actually help you have a lot calmer of a mind and
you can do this in two different ways one is big-picture planning like
planning your week in advance or having goals in terms of what you're trying to
accomplish really having to focus on that and that's going to help you
calm down in terms of always thinking about possibilities if you have the kind
of mind where one day you're thinking hey I could start that business and the
next day you're thinking like oh maybe I'll you know draw cartoons for a living
and the next day maybe I'll be a public speaker you have that kind of a crazy
mind I emphasize whether you trust me but one of the best ways to deal with it
is to pick a goal basically pick a target of where you're going to focus
and then give yourself Direction talk to yourself and when you have these
thoughts come up that tell you hey you know maybe I want to do this other thing
or this other thing and you're debating 20 different options for your life just
say hey Dan remember last week we decided we're just going to focus on
this thing for the next month yeah shut up just do that one thing and I'm not
even kidding give yourself that direction
so set a focus and then if you need to and I encourage it have some self-talk
reduce remind yourself hey this is where I'm focusing maybe next year I look at
these other opportunities but right now I'm going to give myself a chance to
succeed in this one so the other place is really important to direct your mind
is in day to day activities and specifically how you're going to spend
your time and focus so if you sit down to do your work whether that's studying
for school work in a job or working on your own business and you just sit down
and kind of see what will happen you're going to open up your mind to everything
it's going to be really hard to focus where if you plan out your day and say
okay from 10:00 a.m. to noon I'm going to be writing from 2:00 to 4:00 I'll be
reading or studying whatever it is you plan these things out during that time
your job is to tell your mind to shut up and just do the main thing so the same
thing if you're working on something and then you have these thoughts pop in if I
should be doing this know maybe I could do this oh what about what about you
know if I could trip it no tell your mind to shut up and actually just
redirect yourself to the work at hand and say you know okay I'll get back to
that later one thing that helps with this is if you keep a pen and paper by
you not a text file it's better if it's manual and just write down these
thoughts so the thought comes in like oh why don't I check on airfares or oh I
wonder how that gets made and you are about to go on that wicked pee
a journey that never ends I would encourage you just to write it down
really quick and then get back to the task at hand rather than following those
whims all the time the more you train yourself to just focus on the one thing
at a time and not follow these winds these crazy thoughts that come up the
easier it becomes you build these habits and you you strengthen that discipline
to focus on one thing and the reason this in terms of focusing in the moment
and also focusing on your life like climbing out is so important is if you
don't give yourself direction your mind is naturally going to go everywhere what
you expect it to do you're not directing it you need to give yourself a place to
go and then trust your discipline and that to get you there but if you don't
have that place to go then you're asking your mind to think of every possibility
to play out every scenario and you're just feeding this machine of the buzzing
mind and it's going to make it harder and harder to be focused and that for
that reason if you've been doing this for a long time it's probably going to
take a little while to change those habits so this for the first couple
months of trying to be trying to do things differently might be a bit harder
just stick with it now there's a whole second aspect to this and that's around
your prefrontal cortex and strengthening that muscle that's the part of your
brain that's in charge of things like making decisions and focusing and where
to direct your unconscious mind essentially it's a lot weaker than your
unconscious mind and that is why for most of us we get overwhelmed by
emotions and controlled by our unconscious mind sometimes called our
lizard brain or a reptile brain and that's the part that's a lot more
powerful but more emotionally driven and not what we want to be controlling us
necessarily in the moment or dealing with planning so there's some ways to
strengthen your prefrontal cortex and therefore have a lot more control over
how you focus and where you focus the best way and I know this might be a
repetitive topic for some people but it is meditation this is one of the things
that's been proven to actually change brain matter and build up your ability
to focus change direction just maintain that part of your brain really well so
meditation to me a no-brainer no pun intended in terms of
strengthening that part of your brain the other things though that you can do
is around diet and exercise what I found myself is if I'm eating like a protein
fat heavy diet my brain works awesome I can focus I can think I work a lot
better I'm eating a lot of sugar carbs that kind of thing I just find my brain
doesn't work as well and I don't have the same ability to focus so if you're
on a very sugar kind of carb heavy heavy diet that's going to weaken your brain's
ability just to work at its best and you might notice this where you kind of
change directions or you don't have a lot of energy all that it could very
much be tied to diet and so try changing that up adding fish oil to your diet
eating more fat healthy fat any fat well not trans fat but the other fat and a
more protein and you might find that actually really helped as well
and then lastly exercise exercise just helps with the brain with proper
biochemistry hormones all that kind of stuff that I don't fully understand but
I know that exercise is going to really help you there so takeaway from this
video is to give yourself structure in terms of your days how you spend your
hours and also on your week your month your year like planning out and setting
the goals and then giving yourself mechanically what you need to excel here
and calm that buzzing mind and that's going to be things like meditation
eating healthier fats and proteins and then exercising on a regular basis if
you've enjoyed this video I want to thank you for watching and encourage you

"There was a time when I felt like dying and I didn't know where to turn." – Walter - Duration: 2:59.
At the age of 14, I was at some friends house and we were partying.
Just drinking a few beers.
I had never saw cocaine before in my life.
Then all of a sudden one of my friends pulled out a little packet of cocaine.
The mirror came to me and I picked up the straw and did the line.
I was more fearful of what they were going to think if I denied it.
So I ended up doing my first line of cocaine and immediately I was hooked.
And that set me off on a 14 year drug run.
And my life continued to spiral out of control.
I remember there was a time where I had really felt like dying.
I didn't know where to turn.
I had gone through several drug rehabs, but to no success.
I ultimately ended up on heroin and four years into our marriage we were separated.
She said, I am not going to divorce you, its not biblical, but I can't live this way.
I ended up losing everything I had and becoming one step from being homeless.
My wife stopped by the townhouse where I was living and she told me about Teen Challenge.
She said look if you go into Teen Challenge, get your life right, we will work on our marriage.
So I was inducted that day and I didn't know what was going to happen with my life.
But I knew at that point that God was in control.
I just remember going to the Bible classes and learning about Jesus, learning God's word and
memorizing tons of scripture.
And it was just building this foundation in my life and I was just so grateful to be there.
I was just ready and I surrendered my heart to Jesus that day. That was June 18th, 1991
I never looked back.
I just moved forward for whatever God had for me.
I am the Senior Pastor for Christ Community Church in El Centro.
It's a church that my wife and I planted in 1998.
I am also the Executive Director of a ministry called New Creations a Christ-centered drug
rehab that I started in 1993.

Fire!
This is an emergency Pentagon call! I need you to... Do you understand?
It's an emergency Pentagon...
I don't have a credit card!
Sir, the attitude is not going to speed things up any bit at all.
I'm going to ask you to speak into the mouthpiece very clearly.
I'm in the middle of a war! This is frigging ridiculous!
Ammo!
I need a credit card!

Mikaela! It's Sam.
Witwicky.
I hope I didn't get you stranded or anything.
You sure?
So, listen, I was wondering if I could ride you home.
I mean, give you a ride home in my car, to your house.
There you go.
So...
I can't believe that I'm here right now.
You can duck down if you want. I mean, it won't hurt my feelings.
Oh, no, no, no. I didn't mean here with you.
I just meant here, like, in this situation, this same situation that I'm always in.
'Cause, I don't know, I guess I just have a weakness for hot guys,
for tight abs and really big arms.
Big arms?
Well, there's a couple new additions in the car.
Like, I just put in that light there.
And that disco ball. And so the light reflects off the disco ball.
Yeah.
Are you new to school this year? It's your first year here?
Oh, no, no.
We've been in the same school since first grade.
- Really? - Yeah.
Yeah, a long time.
Well, do we have any classes together?
- Yeah, yeah. - Really? Which?
History. Language arts. Math. Science.
- Sam. - Sam. Yeah.
- Sam Wilkicky. - Witwicky.
God, you know what? I'm so sorry. I just...
- No, it's cool. - I just didn't recognize you.
Yeah, well, I mean, that's understandable.
No, no, no. No. Come on.
Sorry, I'm just working out the kinks. You know, it's a new car.
When I get that feeling I want sexual healing
This radio is, like, you know... It's an old radio, too, so...
Sexual healing
Look, this isn't something that I, you know...
I can't get this radio to stop. Look, I wouldn't try this on you.
'Cause this is like a romantic thing that I'm not trying to do.
Not that you're not worthy of trying something like this on.
- No, of course not. - I'm a friend of yours.
I'm not a romantic friend. Romantic friends do this.
I mean, I'm not that friend. I mean, we... I could be.
I feel good
Just pop the hood.
Stupid. Shut up, shut up, shut up.
Whoa, nice headers.
You've got a high-rise double-pump carburetor.
That's pretty impressive, Sam.
Double-pump?
It squirts the fuel in so you can go faster.
I like to go faster.
And it looks like your distributor cap's a little loose.
Yeah? How'd you know that?
My dad. He was a real grease monkey. He taught me all about this.
I could take it all apart, clean it, put it back together.
That's weird. I just wouldn't peg you for mechanical.
Oh, my God.
Well, you know, I don't really broadcast it.
Guys don't like it when you know more about cars than they do.
Especially not Trent. He hates it.
Yeah, no, I'm cool with, you know, females working on my engine.
I prefer it, actually.
- Okay. You want to fire it up for me? - Oh, yeah, yeah, no problem.
- Thanks. - You know, I was thinking.
You know, if Trent's such a jerk, why do you hang out with him?
You know what? I'm just... I'm gonna walk.
Good luck with your car.
All right.
Walking's healthy, right?
Oh, God, no, no, no, no, no, no.
Come on, please. Please, you gotta work for me now.
Don't let her walk away. Come on, come on, come on. Please, please.
Baby come back any kind of fool could see
Hey!
There was something in everything about you
Baby come back you can blame it all on me
Hey!
Wait a second!
I was wrong and I just can't live without you
There it is.
I had fun. So, you know, thanks for listening.
- Oh, yeah, yeah. - You... You think I'm shallow?
I think you're... No, no, no.
I think there's a lot more than meets the eye with you.
Okay.
Yeah.
All right, I'll see you at school.
All right.
That's stupid.
That was a stupid line.

What is it?
It's a robot.
But like a...
Like a different... You know, like a super-advanced robot.
It's probably Japanese.
Yeah, it's definitely Japanese.
What are you doing?
I don't think it wants to hurt us. It would have done that already.
Really? Well, do you speak robot?
Because they just had, like, a giant droid death match.
- I think it wants something from me. - What?
Well, 'cause the other one was talking about my eBay page.
You are the strangest boy I have ever met.
<i>- Can you talk? - XM Satellite Radio...</i>
<i>Digital cable brings you... ... Columbia Broadcasting System...</i>
So you... You talk through the radio?
<i>Thank you, you're beautiful. You're wonderful, you're wonderful.</i>
So, what was that last night? What was that?
<i>Message from Starfleet, Captain...</i>
<i>Throughout the inanimate vastness of space...</i>
<i>Angels will rain down like visitors from heaven! Hallelujah!</i>
Visitors from heaven? What...
What are you, like, an alien or something?
<i>Any more questions you want to ask?</i>
He wants us to get in the car.
And go where?
Fifty years from now, when you're looking back at your life,
don't you want to be able to say you had the guts to get in the car?
This car's a pretty good driver.
I know.
Why don't you go sit in that seat, there?
I'm not going to sit in that seat. He's driving.
Yeah.
You're right.
- Well, maybe you should sit in my lap. - Why?
Well, I have the only seat belt here. You know, safety first.
- Yeah, all right. - Right?
- Yeah. - Okay.
There, see? That's better.
- Okay. - Okay.
You know, that seat belt thing was a pretty smooth move.
Thank you.
You know what I don't understand?
Why, if he's supposed to be, like, this super-advanced robot,
does he transform back into this piece-of-crap Camaro?
Whoa! Whoa!
Oh, see? No. Get... No, that doesn't work. See?
Move it, you moron!
Great, now... See?
Fantastic.
Now you pissed him off.
That car is sensitive.
I mean, $4000 just drove off.
What?
