I was in doubts.. about the existence of a creator..
and in fact, that was very painful to me .. I was suffering..
And I was thinking that there wasn't a single believer on earth
all of them..
all people are Atheists..
but some of them hide their case and others show themselves..
And, I was thinking that it is impossible for anyone to persuade me that the creator exists!
That stage of my life was very difficult for me..
That burden was.. giving me worries..
I was trying hard.. to reach a decision about this..
How it is going to be for me.. my path!?
The path of having all the pleasures.. life is short!
or to another path?
That was a problem..
it was very hard for me.. all day and night..
it disturbed me even when I go to sleep..
I can't sleep.. sometimes!
I used to go from my home.. to the market.. to the store of my father at the market..
walking.. without feeling around me..
till once a friend of mine caught my arm..
to greet me.. because I didn't hear him talking to me..
he had to catch me and to shake me.. 'where are you man?'
because, he was saying to me Salam.. and I didn't answer him back.. I didn't feel his presence..!
So, he had to shake me like this.. 'where are you?!'
then, I wake up!
and I'm on my feet.. walking..
In the matter of fact, I needed to settle this matter..
I must do.. make up my mind!
to take this path or that path.
So, I began to read books..
to reach a decision.
To tell you the truth..
I was reading very big books.. but, I wasn't getting any benefit from them!
I was reading books.. for a very long time..
I read all what comes on my hand!
What was that you were looking for Dr.?
I was searching for the convincing evidence that the creator exists?
Then Allah.. seeing how sincere I was in my search.. so, He helped me.. for fact!!
Allah, Almighty helped me..
to accomplish that!
I remember..
After..
I found the evidence that has really proved that to me.. without doubts.. at that time..
At that time the doubts ended and I've reached Iman with Allah..
I called that day.. The day of faith.
Actually, at that day.. everything has changed completely.. the way I began to see things..
everything!!
I mean.. the way I saw my surroundings was different..
I began to see the world in a different way.. even the faces..
faces were not the same as I've seen them the day before!!
and the trees were not the same.. not as I used to see them.. just a day before..
even the sun and the moon..
they were not the same..
then later, I began to see Allah in everything!
while before.. I wasn't seeing him in anything..
Actually, I remember what was that evidence..
the first evidence appeared to me while I was reading..
a book about peculiar creatures..
I was reading that book..
there I found something about..
a certain species of mosquitoes..
at the time of breeding..
at that season..
It lays its eggs at river banks and on sluggish water..
it presses its body to squeeze out a liquid that dries on air..
something like the threads made by spiders or by the silkworms
After it dries it makes like boats with it..
small boats..
then it lays its eggs inside them on water..
Yes, in the boats..
then the mother dies..
then the larvae hatch and grow to adults..
then when they come to breeding, they do the same!..
In fact..
some questions might rise.. who had put that material inside the body of that mosquito..?
that is suitable to make boats..?
that dries in time..?
who taught it to make boats..?
and who taught them to do like their mother.. and they didn't see it!!?
Who did teach them??
and if they didn't do so, the strain might cease to exist!
In fact..
that picture has shocked my soul violently..
Who taught them to do like their mother.. and they didn't see it!!?
Later on, I've met similar cases.. it is nice to talk about them now..
I had a friend.. maybe he is listening to us now.. I don't know..
He had a chicken eggs incubator..
once he had put thirty chicken eggs inside it and a single egg that he had for an aquatic bird..
Just to fill the empty space in the incubator..
so, he put it in with the chicken eggs..
and he knew when they will hatch..
So, I came at that time to see the eggs hatching..
So, the thirty chicks came out..
from the instrument..
then came out the duckling.. with them..
Then all the chicks went to the field.. looking for food..
and that duckling, alone.. went to the irrigation ditch.. swimming and diving..
Why it didn't follow the others?
who did teach it?
this story is like the first one..
Then I learned that the honey bees make hives in the shape of regular six-sided tubes..
and if you take an egg of the bees and make it hatches away from its community.. it will build the same regular hexagonal tubes and it will store honey inside them!!
it does so even if it did't see other bees..
To tell you the truth.. that has drawn my attention..
After..
the journey of doubts..
about the existence of the creator..
That..
was a big burden for me..
for a long time..
Then came this issue.. about the Prophethood of our master Muhammad, SAW..
I was.. really..
in doubts..
that he was a messenger..
actually, I didn't have the proof in my mind!
that proves his prophecy..
What about the Qur'an?
actually, at the beginning..
I didn't look at the Qur'an.. from this perspective..!
because I was..
thinking that.. as a proof.. it is an allegation..
I mean; he claims that..
i.e. The man who said this.. he claims that he is a messenger..
and for fact, anyone who would say like that.. he would bring along a proof..
So..
thinking like this.. I was distracted from looking in the Qur'an
But later..
I said why not, let me look in it!
in the Qur'an..
You might ask me; why?
While I was trying to solve this issue.. I was reading the Torah.. the Bible.. and other books.. anyway..
By chance, I found a book.. I think it was at the year; 1952
I think so..
at 1952.. yes, I think it was about 1951 or 1952
I was in the middle of my search to solve this big dilemma..
I found a book..
by, Mohammed Rashid Ridha, the founder of Al-Manar magazine
may Allah put mercy upon him..
It was called; [Al-Wahi Al-Muhammadi] the revelation that came upon Muhammad.
I was reading and searching for an evidence..
In fact..
he gave an evidence from the Qur'an..It has drawn my attention..
and I was convinced..
though it was from Qur'an!.. Yes, but it was logical..
Then I said, let me look in the Qur'an..
So, I began to study the Qur'an..
Then, while searching and studying..
I found so many other evidences.. and actually that evidence wasn't the only one..
Then, I began to study Hadith..
maybe I would find something.. I wanted to know about the biography of this man..
It was the first time to look at this.. SAW..
How was he.. and so on..?
Then, I looked in other books as Al-Sihah.. of Bukhari and of Muslim and others
and also in the books that studied the signs of the prophethood.. etc.
Then, I studied the Torah and the Bible..more than once..
I read them..
What was you looking for?
He claims in Qur'an that he is mentioned in these books..
So, I said; let me see that!
So, I read more than one version of the Torah and of the Bible..
different editions and at different dates of publications..
and so on..
That was a long journey..
Then, later on after that all ..
I wrote a book .. that was actually for myself..
It was; The Prophethood of Muhammad, from doubt to certainty
I wrote it for me.. for myself..
In effect, believing in Allah, has eliminated so much of the doubts..
To start with.. I thought that it is not possible that a creator would creat all of this and let it be alone..
impossible.. He should hold people accountable for their actions..
In fact, later on I found that there are things that are emphasizing this concept..
For example..
When we were at schools.. we were taught in science that..
at high schools and so on..
We read that..
The necessity of life..
has provided the polar bear with thick fur and layers of subcutaneous fat.. to protect it..
And, the necessity of life..
has provided the desert plants with chitinous material that would prevent water from being evaporated.. for survival..
And the necessity of life has provided the camel with stomach that has multiple compartments.. because it travels for long distances..
OK.
Isn't there a necessity that the aggressed person would get his requital..?
Those who were killed unjustly.. and their money was seized.. and their images were mutilated..
This had happened to many families.. unjustly..
Why would 'the necessity' care for the polar bear.. the plant.. and so on..?
and it doesn't care for the human being?!
Isn't there a 'necessity' that these people would get their rights..?
While reading.. I came across a good comment..
that matter has attracted my attention..
someone said something about mankind..
First allow me to emphasize a point..
Humans are the only creatures that has different personal appearances.. faces..
and they love eternity and they care about future..
They are the only creatures that work to build their future..
Yes, they do..!
man is the only creature who thinks for the future..
build for the future..
and think of eternity..
That's why the animal communities today is as it was before.. they didn't change..!
For example.. the world of the monkeys today is as it was.. a million years ago..
everything!
only humans change..
This point is..
that.. man fights to survive.. he loves life.. and looks forward to future..
That person said;
'As the stomach hunger pains knows that food is there.. the human instinct, knows that there is a place 'at Akhira' that will satisfy this need mentioned.'
as food satisfy hunger pains..!
This is the point..
But, the final conclusive point in this matter was..
seeing deceased persons.. I know individuals who..
personally.. we are related to each other..
They see their deceased relatives in dreams.. they tell them true things..
For example.. a very close friend of mine..
personally.. Yes..
He said to me ..that he saw his deceased father.. while he was sleeping..
he told him about a person who owes him money..
go and pay the money to him!
he said; I went to him..
and said to him; do you owe my father money..?
he said; only a small amount.. not a big deal..
So, do you owe him?
then he told him the amount of money, that was as his father told him in the dream..
Now, a friend of mine.. a professor.. he might be seeing us now..
That professor said to me that his deceased father told his brother in dream..
Your friend.. Yes, a very close friend.. he is a professor..
He said that his deceased father, after sometime of his death, he told his brother in dream..
to go to his personal bookshelves in his house..
and to search inside a certain book..
you will find money.. I think it was about one hundred or two hundred Dinars..
Then he gathered us.. he said this is the will of my father.. and this is inheritance..
Do you want it?.. they said; No, do as the will of our father..
How could this happen if souls didn't last..?!
then.. who did contact with them?
By the way.. there is a fact.. I like to mention it.. OK..
it happened to you personally.. Yes..
One morning, we were together.. then my mother, may Allah put mercy on her,.. she said..
at home.. yes..
me and my brother Dr. Mahdi, may Allah put mercy upon him.. he was there.. all the family..
She said; last night.. your father..[ he was dead long time before]..
he asked me; why don't you give this man his rights?
Who was that man?..
I didn't know..!
Then we wondered.. who is this man!!?
what was his rights?
i.e. money..
why don't you give this man his money?
So, he came to her in her dream.. Yes..
She said..
who is that man?.. don't know!!
Do you know him?.. No!!
Do you know him?.. No!!
No one knew him!! then we said maybe this dream means nothing..
After some time..
we found that there is a farmer who works in our garden..
we didn't remember him..
we forgot him completely..
we forgot him completely.. and it was almost the middle of the month..
you didn't know his name..?
No, we didn't know his name..?
he comes and goes..
he comes every day and then leaves after he finishes his work..
then we asked each others.. did you pay to the man?.. No!.. Did you? No!!
come here.. did anyone give you your salary?.. No.
Why didn't you say a word?.. he said; what for!.. I knew that you will remember and will give me later.
What is the meaning of all of that!
It means that there is Akhira day.. Absolutely!
in addition to that.. we have; the after death experiences..
they see real things..
I know some.. who were about to die.. then they came back to life..
they came back to life.. Yes..
Two of my dearest friends had told me so..
that they saw the Angels and they talked to them and so on..
did they see them?.. Yes, they did!!..Yes..
Then they woke up.. like this!
They were revived.. Yes..
I also have read about this in books..
But I didn't mind it, till I was told about this.. by many persons!
This is just for reminding.. for getting a lesson.. for whom he wants to remember
Then, you believed in the Akhira day..
At that time I have believed .. but this was more conclusive for me..
definitive..
Absolutely, these events were decisive.. they've eliminated all the left doubts!
I had to reach a decision because this matter is important.. suppose what he is saying was the truth.. then I will be doomed forever!
I must apply his commands.. to save myself
he said that there are rewards and punishments.. etc. that are involved..
The matter concerns each one of us.. individually..
personally..
Prophethood is not a concern of people in communities it involves them individually....
a person himself might be miserable or happy!!
correct..
So, he must be sure.. and reach a decision..
So, I started to read the Qur'an.. though I was refusing it at the beginning..
Actually, at first.. that point that was mentioned by the writer of the book; [Al-Wahi Al-Muhammadi] the revelation that came upon Muhammad..
made me look in the whole Qur'an..
that point was about Ar-Rum.. "Alif, Lam, Meem.".. "The Byzantines have been defeated. In the nearest land.."
".. But they, after their defeat, will overcome."
"Within three to nine years. To Allah belongs the command before and after. And that day the believers will rejoice"
"In the victory of Allah . He gives victory to whom He wills, and He is the Exalted in Might, the Merciful."
"[It is] the promise of Allah . Allah does not fail in His promise, "
"but most of the people do not know."
Of course, The story is known.. there was a war between the Persians and the Romans.. and the Persians won the war first..
So, The people of Quraish were happy for that victory.. because the Romans were people of The scripture..
and they were defeated..
then Our Lord revealed these verses..
So, there were big discussions.. then Abo Bakr challenged Quraish.. he bet them on 100 young female-camel
[Qalus] is the young female-camel
that the Romans are going to win..
within few [Bidh] years..
[Bidh] are from three to nine..
Then .. within that period..
The Romans won the war.. as the Qur'an has said.. and he won the bet..
and that victory was at the day of Badr..
and the verse has mentioned that too..
"And that day the believers will rejoice.. by the victory of Allah"
So, the believers were happy..
by the victory of Allah at Badr..
And after that event.. it was narrated that.. many people has entered Islam..
After that event.. Yes..
they were awaiting..
Of course.. there was a bet involved..
one hundred young female-camel..
"Allah does not fail in His promise,"
good..
i.e. this is not a probability case.. it is definitely going to happen.. definitely!!
good..
Then I began to look for similar cases in the Qur'an.. and I've found so many..
for example; the succession to authority upon the earth that Allah has promised the believers to have it..
Allah said: "Allah has promised those who have believed among you and done righteous deeds that He will surely grant them succession [to authority] upon the earth"
"just as He granted it to those before them"
"and that He will surely establish for them [therein] their religion which He has preferred for them "
"and that He will surely substitute for them, after their fear, security,"
"[for] they worship Me, not associating anything with Me."
those who have believed among you.. i.e. this is about the early companions.. yes..
this had happened!
Allah had promised them.. and it happened.. they had the authority upon earth!
and they have spread their authority..
The promise to manifest Islam over all other religions..
"It is He who has sent His Messenger with guidance and the religion of truth to manifest it over all religion,"
This was within a group of verses.. "They want to extinguish the light of Allah "
and the promise had happened..
"Say to those who disbelieve, "You will be overcome.." O Muhammad.. say to them..
you will be defeated..
"".. and gathered together to Hell, and wretched is the resting place.""
and that had happened and they were defeated..
"And if they fight you, they will show you their backs;"
"then they will not be aided."
"[Their] assembly will be defeated, and they will turn their backs [in retreat]."
all of these events had happened..
"Indeed, [O Muhammad], He who imposed upon you the Qur'an will take you back to a place of return.".. To Makkah..
That was at the journey of Al-Hijrah..
He was at Al-Juhfah.. on his way to Al-Madinah.. in the Hijra journey..
the Revelation said to him..
"Indeed, [O Muhammad], He who imposed upon you the Qur'an will take you back to a place of return."..
You will be back to Makkah..
"Certainly has Allah showed to His Messenger the vision in truth."
" You will surely enter al-Masjid al-Haram, if Allah wills, in safety, "
" with your heads shaved and [hair] shortened, not fearing [anyone]. "
"He knew what you did not know and has arranged before that a conquest near [at hand]."
"It is He who sent His Messenger with guidance and the religion of truth.."
that was after they left Al-Hudibiah..
He told them that he had a true dream [Ruiah]..
and that they will enter Makkah city..
but he didn't and they returned back..
So, they said to him; wasn't that said .. so and so..
then Allah said:
"Certainly has Allah showed to His Messenger the vision in truth.. "
"You will surely enter.." and they did enter later on..
Not only that, but..".. and has arranged before that a conquest near [at hand]."
That was Khyber conquest!
He said: "Exalted is He who took His Servant by night from al-Masjid al-Haram to al-Masjid al- Aqsa, "
But he didn't see Al-Masjid Al-Aqsa before that..
true..
The first question that would come to mind was.. Ok, describe Al-Masjid Al-Aqsa for us!!
describe it..! he didn't see it from before..!! and they knew that !!
true..
So, he went into the enclosure [Al-Hijir] at Makkah.. in the Haram masjid..
then he described Al-Masjid Al-Aqsa..
And Abu Bakr.. Al-Siddique was approving him; ' You are telling the truth.. I offer my father and mother [Bi abi anta wa Omi]..'
He described it all with its doors..
its ceiling..
and all what was inside it.. as if he was looking at it while describing it..
What do you think was that?
So this was in Sunnah..
he was telling the truth..
wasn't that the case?.. he saw it..
wasn't that a proof that he is a prophet?.. SAW..
He also promised them conquests..
and to gain the booties seized from the enemies after wars
didn't he?
he promised them to have that so many times in Qur'an..
and what did the hypocrites say..
Allah said: "And [remember] when the hypocrites and those in whose hearts is disease said,"
"" Allah and His Messenger did not promise us except delusion,""
So, he was promising them with things..
and once[ at war] a hypocrite said:
'Muhammad promises us to go and get the treasures of Khosrau and Kaiser.. and we can't go to defecate'
Then.. they've got them!
At Badr; "[Remember, O believers], when Allah promised you one of the two groups - that it would be yours"
So, he promised them..
true.. So, he was promising them..
The messenger said that Allah has promised him to get one of two; the troops or the caravan..
"[Remember, O believers], when Allah promised you one of the two groups - that it would be yours - and you wished that the unarmed one would be yours.
"Those who remained behind will say when you set out toward the war booty to take it, ".. they will say!!
"when you set out toward the war booty to take it, "Let us follow you.""
and it happened..
In Qur'an, there are specific events..
For example..
"And [remember] when the Prophet confided to one of his wives a statement;"
" and when she informed [another] of it and Allah showed it to him,"
"he made known part of it and ignored a part."
"And when he informed her about it, she said, "Who told you this?"
""He said, "I was informed by the Knowing, the Acquainted.""
It was narrated that one of the Prophet's wives, namely, Hafsa..
the Messenger confided to her a statement; and she informed [another] of it..
he told her not to tell anybody..
but, she did..
Then our Lord..
told him.. Yes..
She was shocked.. Who told you that?!
"He said, "I was informed by the Knowing, the Acquainted.""
Who told him if not that?
Allah!
Of course, the one who sent him..
If anyone else did that?
he could said; I'm the one who told him..
True..
if she was the other wife.. she could have said; I'm the one who told him.
I've added this evidence to all the others..
The clearance of Aisha from the falsehood accusations at the calumniation event
"Indeed, those who came with falsehood are a group among you."
"Do not think it bad for you; rather it is good for you."
Who could prove that she was innocent?
If not Allah.. no one else could prove that..
True..
because they were only the two of them..
She and the other man..
No one else was there..
But Allah, Almighty..
is the One Who cleared her name..
who else could do that?
True.. it was not possible any other way!
Another event that I've noticed.. when he challenged the Jews to wish to die
"Say, "O you who are J"ews, if you claim that you are allies of Allah , excluding the [other] people,"
"then wish for death, if you should be truthful."
"But they will not wish for it, ever,"
They didn't wish it.. they were afraid..
He challenged them twice..
This one and at Surat Al-Baqara..
"Say, [O Muhammad], "If the home of the Hereafter with Allah is for you alone and not the [other] people, then wish for death, if you should be truthful."
"But they will never wish for it, ever, because of what their hands have put forth. And Allah is Knowing of the wrongdoers."
He said; if they wished it they would have died indeed.
sure..
So, why they didn't show his lie.. if he was!?
So, did they know that he was a prophet?
They knew him as they knew their children..
Allah said that!
Why they didn't wish to die?!
suppose he said; You won't pray for dying..
never.. and at-all..
didn't he say so? true..
why they didn't?
no one did.. exactly..
he said; if they wished for it, they would have died, indeed..
What does this mean!!
I think this challenge is strange..
If he wasn't confident about what he was saying..
If he wasn't sure and wasn't telling the truth.. he wouldn't have to put himself in such a situation..
True..
He wouldn't have challenged them this way?
Allah has promised him to protect him from people..
"O Messenger, announce that which has been revealed to you from your Lord, and if you do not, then you have not conveyed His message. And Allah will protect you from the people. "
It was narrated that the prophet used to have guards at the beginning..
and also while he is in his house..
They used to guard him while he is in his house too..
that was before this verse.. yes, before it..
Then, After this verse was revealed..
he said; O people, go homes.. Allah has granted us protection.
" Allah will protect you [Yasemoka]" means that you will not be killed..
So, this is the meaning of [Al-Isma] here.. is from you being killed
Once a Jew woman invited him to eat.. and she cooked him a sheep..
one of Sahaba was with him..
So, when he has put the bone in his mouth..
means with the meat..
and he began chewing it.. he said;
This bone is telling me that it is poisoned.. so, he spitted it out of his mouth..
The Sahabi with him ate it.. then he died..
he died!! Yes.
This proves that what the prophet has said was true..
"And Allah will protect you from the people. ".. Exactly..
"Then declare what you are commanded and turn away from the polytheists."
"Indeed, We are sufficient for you against the mockers"
the mockers who were ridiculing him..
We will protect you from them.. don't fear them..
This is [Isamh] too.
He said about Al-Walid Ibn Al-Mughira
"Leave Me with the one I created alone"
"And to whom I granted extensive wealth"
"And children present [with him], And spread [everything] before him, easing [his life]."
"Then he desires that I should add more. No! Indeed, he has been toward Our verses obstinate."
No!!..
"Then he desires that I should add more. No!"
So, after this verse, he didn't has more children nor he had more wealth..
And our Lord told us that Al-Walid Ibn Al-Mughira will die as a disbeliever..
because He said: "I will drive him into Saqar." i.e. into Hell.
"And what can make you know what is Saqar?"
Why he didn't say, I bear witness that no Elah but Alla?.. even for the purpose of showing that this is not true..
He could have said; look.. I'm a believer now.. just to prove that this is a lie..
I bear witness that no Elah but Allah, and you are the messenger of Allah!!
He could do that..
NO!!
"I will drive him into Hell"
There are two points in this story..
The first is that he will die as a disbeliever..
and he didn't believe and died as a disbeliever..
The second is that he will not have more wealth nor children..
and it had happened as such..
Why is he giving like these committing statements?
Unless, if he was a prophet, truly?
wasn't that the case?.. yes..
These matters are amazing..
It is not possible that he was just saying these statements.. without having truth behind them..
OK. in the matter of the split of the moon..
"The Hour has come near, and the moon has split [in two]."
"And if they see a miracle, they turn away and say, "Passing magic.""
This verse was conveyed, all through, with Sahih Hadith
Did it happen? yes, and the Hadith is a true Hadith..
Good.
I've checked the chains.. at the Sahih of Muslim and of Bukhari.. fast.. they were more than 24 chains..
Some people think that this will happen at the Day of Resurrection..
NO!!
"And if they see a miracle, they turn away and say, "Passing magic.""
At the Day of Resurrection there is no magical powers..
what happens then is severer than this..!
True..
At the Day of Resurrection the seas will burst.. the sun will blacken and eclipse.. etc.
and the stars will fall down.. will be darkened and scattered..
So,the split of the moon has happened.. Yes..
They saw it.. and the mountain was seen in between the separated two parts..
it was the mountain of Hira'a..
He said: ' Be witnesses!'
That was the miracle they've asked for..
The disbelievers.. Yes!
They asked him for a miracle..
So, he showed them the split of the moon!
Then he said to them: ' Be witnesses!'
that was a true Hadith..
and they saw it.. Yes, they did..
Some of them said, this is magic..
others said, If he would bewitched you.. he couldn't have bewitched everyone..
True..
Some of them said, Mohammed had casted a spell on us.
They saw the splitting.. all of them..
Yes, those who asked for the miracle.. they were there..
it wasn't planned.. you know..
yes..
Nowadays.. people might say; Lunar eclipse has happened.. but, we didn't notice..
because we weren't ready to look for it..
true..
similarly..
So, they asked for the miracle, and the Sahaba were present..
and they narrated many Hadiths about the event..
and the scholars has then checked to be true..
and enough that it is mentioned in the Qur'an..
Ok... true..
Isn't that a proof that he is a messenger from Allah..
Of course.. SAW..
Then, there's the challenges mentioned in the Qur'an
didn't he challenge them?
For example..
He asked them to bring ten surahs like it that have been invented.. then one surah.. then he concluded that they can't bring anything like it..
"they could not produce the like of it, even if they were to each other assistants."
So, There were two points..
After I was convinced with the first evidences.. I continued to accept all the other verses.. as proofs..
I mean the first proofs made me accept these proofs..
because I was denying these last evidences.. completely..
I thought.. they were just words..
Later, after I had my high degree in Arabic Language and Grammar..
and I began to study and read..
and think..
At the beginning.. when I was looking..
and reading so much..
I denied so many things.. because of the explanations given by the interpreters..
I thought that if it was given in a different way, they could have given an explanation for it..
That was my way of thinking.. they are just words..
But in fact, some of the explanations were unique.. very good..
some.. but most of them I was thinking that they were just words
at that time..
Actually, at the year 1968, I went to do Umrah..
and at 1969 I did Hajj..
OK.
That was after the journey of Iman.. but, I didn't know much at that time.. though I've learned fair amount of Qur'an and so..
Not much..
So, I went to ZamZam well..
and I took a drink from the water..
then I said: My Lord, open Your Book for me in a blessed way..
You are the Opener of the gates of everything.. the Knowing..
and I know that the water of ZamZam is for whatever we drink it for..
Your beloved Mohammad said that.. So, open Your Book for me..
a blessed opening..
That was after my early journey of Iman..
I was a believer at that time..
Then..
I asked my Lord to open for me whatever He wants from the treasures of his knowledge..
Then, I went to Kaaba..
and I embraced the curtains of the Kaaba..
While that.. I said; my Lord..
I ask You to open Your Book for me in a blessed way.. You are the Opener of everything the Knowing..
and open for me the treasures of Your knowledge.. a blessed opening..
and I was embracing the curtains of the Kaaba..
After that..
I felt that things began to be easier..
It became easy.. Yes, it did..
Allah accepted your Dua'a..
That what it seemed.. Allah knows the best..
That is clear Dr..
Allah knows..
Then..
After that journey.. I concluded that..
It is impossible that these words are made by man..
Impossible..
I mean from the degree of eloquence..
Linguistically..
The style.. impossible..
There are rules.. like in mathematics..
For example..
I tell my students of Doctorate degree..
let's see these verses.. can we change their sites from here to there..
OK. for them it makes no difference..
But after we study the verses rhetorically and from the eloquence perspectives..
and they know the methods.. they are at a high degree..
Then I say to them; Now let's do this change or change this word..
They say; No.. No.. this is not possible.. it is against the rule. we can't do this..
only after they have studied it.. Yes..
Actually, The miraculous science in Qur'an is not my field of work..
But no doubt that, there are scientific matters in Qur'an that are ahead of its discovery..
For example; the development of the foetus inside the wombs..
"creation after creation, within three darknesses. "
The atmospheric pressure..
"and whoever He wants to misguide - He makes his breast tight and constricted as though he were climbing into the sky."
Then, the expansion of the universe..
"And the heaven We constructed with strength, and indeed, We are [its] expander."
This is the most recent information about the universe.. that it is expanding!
expanding!!
"and indeed, We are [its] expander.""
"Have those who disbelieved not considered that the heavens and the earth were a joined entity, and We separated them"
the big bang theory.. this is a recent discovery..
The earth is spherical in shape.. notice this..
Ibn Hazm who lived about one thousand years ago..
He died at the year 456 H.
Ibn Hazm Al-Andalusi?.. Yes..
at the year 456 H.
i.e. before one thousand years..
He wrote in his book; Al-Fasl fe Al-Melal wa Al-Ahwaa wa Al-Nahl..
a chapter about the earth being globular in shape..[Karawiah]
a research..
the earth is globular!!.. Yes, that was the title!
How could he find that?.. he wrote;
the earth is globular [a ball] [Kurah..]
like that..
as proved by Qur'an..
Allah, Almighty said: "He wraps [winds into a ball] [ Yokawer] the night over the day and wraps the day over the night.."
and as they are wrapped into a ball, it means that, what is beneath them is spherical too
This was said one thousand years ago..
True..
He was doing a research to prove that the earth is globular!!
where were they..?..then it was proved that the earth is spherical.
The movement of the earth.. "And you see the mountains, thinking them rigid,"
"while they will pass as the passing of clouds."
This is not at The Day of Resurrection, because he said: " [It is] the work of Allah , who perfected all things."
"And [even] if We opened to them a gate from the heaven and they continued therein to ascend,"
"They would say, "Our eyes have only been prevented from seeing[ Sukerat]"
"Rather, we are a people affected by magic."
[Sukerat] means; have been closed.. Yes..
I was thinking that the higher you ascend the brighter is the view.. you get closer to the light of the sun!
That what I was thinking..
But, later we knew that this is not the case..
we thought that the higher you ascend the closer you are to the sun..
so, it is supposed to have more light!
But they said, we enter into darkness..!!
" "Our eyes have only been prevented from seeing[ Sukerat], "
Who could explain that..? only later this was discovered..
after they went to the moon and to the outer space..
where did he bring this from?
Listen to this..!
"It is not allowable for the sun to reach the moon, nor does the night overtake the day, but each, in an orbit, is swimming."
The interpreters had stopped at this verse for a long time..
They said a lot about it..
But, now we know the meaning..
"It is not allowable for the sun to[Tudrika] the moon," does this means that not to reach it..
For this part no problem because He said: " but each, in an orbit, is swimming."
the orbits are different..
But from the scientific point of view..
OK...
the earth is spherical..
Good..
part of the land is at night and part of it is at daytime..
Yes..
So, they are one after the other.. like this..
before night there is day.. and after night there is daytime..
OK.. Yes..
before and after..
and the daytime is followed by night and there is a night before the daytime too
OK... Yes..
at the same time..
So, the question is; which is first?
Both are in a continuous movement one after the other at the same time, and non of them will come first..
This verse was written for us.. for nowadays.. to be understood today..
Because, the early interpreters were puzzled about its meaning..
For us the meaning is clear..
The early interpreters didn't reach this meaning.. No.. No.. They didn't!
They didn't.. yes.
And the stories in the Qur'an..
Yes, the stories in the Qur'an..
The stories in the Qur'an are in two groups..
stories that were not known by the people of the Scripture..
The stories of Hood, Salih and Shoaib..
They didn't know them..
Even the Jew.. Yes, they didn't..
I mean it is not in their books..
it is not found there..
And stories that they've known them..
The first group of stories about Hood, Salih and Shoaib..
maybe they do not believe them.. I don't know.. but they are not in their books..
But they were mentioned in the book of Ptolemy..
all these stories.. in history..
before prophet Muhammad, SAW.. Ptolemy was very early
Yes, he is an ancient Historian..
And he even mentioned Aad and Iram.. as Aad-Iram''..As written in the Qur'an..
But this Ptolemy was before prophet Muhammad.. long time before him..
Where did the stories come from?.. from their books?
they are from history.. he was a historian..
The other stories were mentioned in the Books of the people of the scripture..
Adam.. Noah.. Ibrahim.. Loot.. Moses..
Allah mentioned them..
For example, Our Lord said after the story of Noah..
after the story..
He said:
"That is from the news of the unseen"
Where did Muhammad had the story from..?
"which We reveal to you, [O Muhammad]. You knew it not, neither you nor your people, before this."
So, Who told him about it.. Allah.
In the story of Yusuf..
What did Allah say after it:"
"That is from the news of the unseen"
"which We reveal, [O Muhammad], to you. And you were not with them when they put together their plan while they conspired."
Who told him..? Allah..!
After the pledge of the wife of 'Imran.. and the birth if Maryam..
.. her growth.. and the Dua'a of Zechariah..
He said: "That is from the news of the unseen"
"which We reveal to you, [O Muhammad]. And you were not with them when they cast their pens.."
"as to which of them should be responsible for Mary.."
who told him this?
Allah!
He didn't know that from before.. nor his people!
But, they say that these stories are in their Books..
And Muhammad, SAW copied them from their books..
He was an unlettered person, he wasn't able to read..
and nobody told him about them..
" the unlettered prophet, whom they find written in what they have of the Torah and the Gospel, "
"And you did not recite before it any scripture, nor did you inscribe one with your right hand."
correct, who could have told him about these stories..?
who told him?
Allah, SWT..
And the Rabbis of the Jew were used to ask him..
different questions..
They even challenged him..
asking him about thing that were known by them.. alone..
He gave them the right answers..
And after such these debates, the most eminent Rabbi among them has entered Islam..
Abdullah Ibn Salam.
Our Lord said:
"Say, "Have you considered: if the Qur'an was from Allah , and you disbelieved in it.."
"while a witness from the Children of Israel has testified to something similar.."
" and believed while you were arrogant... ?"
"Those to whom We gave the Scripture before it - they are believers in it."
"And when it is recited to them, they say, "We have believed in it; "
"indeed, it is the truth from our Lord." some of them have believed!
So,.. They were testing him, SAW.. Yes, they did..
"and you will find the nearest of them in affection to the believers those who say, "We are Christians.""
" That is because among them are priests and monks and because they are not arrogant."
"And when they hear what has been revealed to the Messenger, you see their eyes overflowing with tears.."
"because of what they have recognized of the truth. They say, "Our Lord, we have believed, so register us among the witnesses."
I will give you an example of their arrogance..
A group of Jews came to the prophet, SAW.. to ask him about issues that are known to prophets only..
So, he made them to give a pledge witnessed by Allah..
if he answers their questions correctly, they will follow Islam religion.. they agreed..
Like what?
He said; ask me whatever you want..
Then, they asked him, and he kept answering their questions..
correct answers that they found them to be true....
Then, they said; we have a final question upon which depends whether we would follow you or not..
He said; go for it..
They said; who is your guardian from Angels?
After answering all the important questions!!
Who is your guardian from Angels?
After this, we would follow you or not..
What is the point here??!!
He said; He is Jibril..
Then they said; If your guardian was one else.. we would have followed you..
He is our enemy!!
"Say, "Whoever is an enemy to Gabriel - it is [none but] he who has brought the Qur'an down upon your heart, [O Muhammad], by permission of Allah,"
They said; Jibril tells you about us and about our secrets.. etc.
Some times he corrects what is written in their books..
and he adds to them..
like what..?
for example.. the preservation of the body of Pharaoh..
This wasn't mentioned in the Torah..
"So today We will save you in body that you may be to those who succeed you a sign."
They don't have this in their story..
Who told him?!.. this has been proved now.. Yes, it is..
O.K. who told him about this?!
Allah.
The story of Dhul-Qarnayn..
The interpreters stopped in front of it puzzled..
Because, It was told in the Qur'an the same way told by the Historians who were at the time of Dhul-Qarnayn..
Herodot was at that time..
Same details..
then the later archaeological discoveries..
proved the existence of Dhul-Qarnayn..
Who told this man about these stories?!
Even more.. the way the words were selected..
In the Qur'an.. Yes..
When the story at the Torah tells about Pharaoh, the Qur'an says he is a King..
In the story of Yusuf..
the choice is different..
In Qur'an, the pharaoh was not mentioned in the story about Yusuf..
But, in Torah, The ruler was Pharaoh!
He was a pharaoh?.. Yes..
If the story was copied from the people of the scripture, he would have said he is a pharaoh!
In fact, Historically..
At the time of Yusuf..
the king wasn't the same as that at the time of prophet Moses..
Later it was found that..
The ancient Egyptians were ruled by two kind of rulers..
So, if the ruler was Egyptian..
they call him Pharaoh..
and if the ruler was from Hyksos.. he is called; King..
And at the time of Yusuf the ruler was from Hyksos, so he was a King and not Pharaoh!
And at the time of Moses the ruler was pharaoh.. Egyptian!
So, the Qur'an called them with their titles as the ancient Egyptians themselves had called them..
Also, the title of Al-Azeez..
At the Torah, that man was not called Al-Azeez..
Sometime they call him an officer of Pharaoh or a captain of the guard
or they give his name..
But they don't mention the Title of ; Al-Azeez.. they don't..
It was in the Qur'an only..
Later we learned that this was the most precise translation of the title of the occupant of this position..
Was he called Azeez..? Yes.. Azeez of the sun-god
That was the correct actual name of this position..
But, excuse me, the Torah also is from Allah, Almighty..
"Among the Jews are those who distort words from their [proper] usages .."
'Azeez of the sun-god' this was the title..
That was the name.. exactly..
So, He has chosen what suits the belief.. only Al-Azeez.. not the whole name.. 'Azeez of the sun-god'
"The wife of Al-'Azeez said,"
And The husband is called [Al-Sayed] i.e. the master..
In Qur'an the married partner whether male or female is called [Al-Zawj]
" and they found her husband[ Sayedha] at the door".. only here!!
only in this place.. the husband is called [Sayedha] i.e. her master..
Because at that time, the Egyptians called the husband.. the master [Sayed] of the wife.
So, the husband was Al-Sayed.. yes..
And later when we read the references of Languages they said; and the husband is the Sayed in the language of the Copts
That was the ancient language of the Egyptians.. In the language of the Copts.. yes..
So, he called the husband as the ancient Egyptians used to call him.. this is an amazing selection..
as in their traditions..
These are few of many things that has supported my return back to belief..
Few thing.. and there are many that were not mentioned here.
