Bosnia Hercegovina

those who dont know Bosnia and Hercegovina are not the same thing

you cant just say Bosnia for both

thats is

already ordered my Coca-Cola, here in the restaurants Coca-Colas are expensive

always comes in this glass bottle which is always better

its 250 ml and its 7 Reais

too expensive

12:10 pm right now

my tripod today is a glass

with Coca-Cola inside

I just put it on top

čevapi in Brazil is kafta, that we usually have at barbecues, not always though

now just have to wait

show you the restaurant, its right next to Maksimir

where I went in the last video

and this place is really

welcoming, at the front they make the čevapi

its called Renić

this is their menu

in Bukovačka, the neighborhood

and this is what I ordered, six pack čevapi

( no idea what that means )

the one I ordered costs 43 Kunas which is around 20 Reais

then they got the big čevapi

the small čevapi

18 Kunas, around 7 Reais

I have no idea what šiš means, but they got big and small size too

hamburger for 25 Kunas, 12 Reais

cheeseburger 27 Kunas

I also ordered..

no wait, what did I order?

oh yes, I ordered ketchup, mayonnaise and mustard

senf is mustard

here you see, bezalkoholna pića means...

drinks without alcohol

15 Kunas, around 7 Reais

this is all beer

also same price as Coca-Cola

and wine

restricted the sale of alcoholic beverages to underaged customers

that is mine

it is f#cking mine

come that I am hungry as f#ck

I am so happy its here

mayonnaise, mustard, ketchup

bread, onions..

this underneath the bread is the čevapi

Jesus Crist

and always comes with raw onions

see, čevapi is a meat... oh f#uck

Lezione di Italiano 1 - L'Alfabeto (Bologna, Italia) - Duration: 3:06.

Hello!

Today we're going to start a new adventure

to learn Italian

So, the first lesson

is the ALPHABET

How to pronouce Italian

The alphabet is very simple

because every letter has its own sound

So, going in order:

The A of "Banana"

is pronounced "A"

The B (bi) of.... "Banana"

is pronounced "B"

The C (ci) is a little bit complicated

because it has TWO types of sounds

When it's with an A, O, or U, it has a K sound

CA, CO, CU like in "Casa" ("House"/"Home")

With an I or an E

It has a "C" sound ("ch")

CI, CE...

To have the sounds "KI", "KE"

you need to add an H (acca)

So CA, CO, CU, CHI ("ki"), CHE ("ke")

Vice-versa, if I want to have the C sound ("ch") with the A, the O, the U

I need to add an I

So CI ("chi"), CE ("che"), CIA ("cha"), CIO ("cho"), CIU ("chu")

The D (di) of "Dito" ("finger")

The E that is the conjunction

"Una mela e una pera" ("An apple and a pear")

Watch out that the E with an accent (è) is the verb TO BE (Essere)

"Una mela non è una pera." ("An apple is not a pear.")

And then the F (effe) of "Figlio" ("son"), "Forno" ("oven")

The G (gi) is the same as the C

it has two sounds

One a little bit more guttural like "Gh"

with the A, the O, the U

GA, GO, GU like in "Gatto" ("cat")

and GI, GE like "Giorgio" ("George"), "Genova"

There, too, if I want to have the sound GHI, GHE

I add an H (acca)

So GA, GO, GU, GHI, GHE

Vice-versa, if I want to have the sound G (gi)

with the A, the O, the U

I add an I

GI, GE, GIA, GIO, GIU

The H (acca) of "Hotel"

is not pronounced, it's mute

H, I, L (elle)

"Livorno"

M (emme) of "Matteo" ("Matthew")

N (enne) of "Napoli"

O, P (pi) of "Padova"

Q (k), the Q always goes with the U

and the U is pronounced so

QUA, QUO, QUE, QUI

So the number 4 ("quattro") for example

is written with the Q

So, M, N, O, P, Q, R (erre)

of "Roma"

S (esse) of "Savona"

and the S with the C, that, too, is a little bit difficult

because if the C is CA, CO, CU ("ka", "ko", "ku")

it is pronounced SCA, SCO, SCU ("ska", "sko", "sku")

SCHI ("ski"), SCHE ("ske") with the H (acca)

If on the other hand, the sound of the C is CI ("chi"), CE ("che"), CIA ("cha"), CIO ("cho"), CIU ("chu")

with the S (esse) it becomes SCI (shi), SCE (she), SCIA ("sha"), SCIO ("sho"), SCIO ("sho")

The T (ti) of "Torino"

The U, the V (vu) of "Verona"

And last, the Z (zeta) of "Zorro"!

Bye!

Rust Belt Populism: An Economic Analysis | Pia Malaney - Duration: 7:42.

Within our market economy we think of us as having the ability to vote through our dollars.

So it's one dollar, one vote.

But we've seen inequality in this country increase so dramatically recently that we

are in some sense hearing some voices much more loudly than others.

If you look at the percent of income that is going to the top one percent of our population

in the last 20 years it's doubled from 10 percent to 20 percent.

If you look at the pay of CEOs compared to the pay of the average production worker it

went from being something like 24 times the pay of an average production worker to being

closer to 200 times.

In many ways the voice of our working class Americans is no longer being heard at the

same level because they don't have as much control within that economy.

So they're looking to what we can think of as another economy, a separate place to

hear their voice which is our ballot economy.

And we've always believe that our ballot economy represents one person, one vote.

Of course we're seeing changes in that too.

We have come to understand very clearly the effects of gerrymandering over the last several

years.

We have seen, in this last election, the impact of the electoral college and what that does

to the voice of the majority.

And we also understand that when you have two senators from a state like Wyoming or

from Vermont and two senators from California that, in fact, we don't really have one

man, one vote.

But we have enough equality within that system that we actually were forced to listen to

the voices of people who have felt disenfranchised in our market economy.

So what are these policies that have caused people to react in this way?

Well we can think of just a few of them if we think about finance, integration, trade.

Very often we have been told by the establishment that immigration represents a win-win for

America.

The trade represents a win-win for America.

Well, let's delve a little deeper into that.

Is that really true?

As economists when we think about welfare we're very careful to think about ourselves

as technocrats.

So we don't want to decide for a society what distribution within a society should

look like.

And so we have this notion of welfare called Pareto welfare.

And we think of something as a Pareto improvement if you can make at least one person better

off by making nobody worse off.

As you can imagine this is somewhat difficult within a policy context.

It's very hard to find a way to have any policies that have no negative impacts on

anyone but can make some people better off.

So we found a refinement to that, something we call Kaldor-Hicks where we look at the

net benefit versus the net cost.

And the idea is that we can have a net benefit and we can redistribute it amongst the losers.

So we take whatever benefit we have to the society as a whole and we redistribute so

that overall people are better off.

Well then we have a Kaldor-Hicks improvement and we think of that as a welfare improvement.

Let's look at what is going on in the situation of trade.

So we know with trade that there are winners and there are losers.

We also know that by the principle of comparative advantage that we're going to actually have

an efficiency gain.

So you're going to have some transfer where American consumers do better off because we

have access to goods at better prices.

And American producers maybe lose some of their resources because they can't sell

as much to our economy and they have to face a more competitive economy.

And then we know that we also have this competitive gain.

And if you add up the benefits and the costs you find that, in fact, we have an overall

benefit.

What we often here when we hear about trade is that it's a win-win situation.

And what we're really referring to is the fact that we have a Kaldor-Hicks improvement.

Except we as economists understand that there's one more piece to that – which is that I

order for everyone to be better off we really need to find a way to redistribute that income

away from the winners and towards the losers so that they're compensated for their loss.

Similarly if we look at immigration there are winners and losers.

There are at least three things that happen when we increase immigration in this country.

Wages go down as the supply of labor goes up.

And as a result of that there is some transfer from domestic workers to foreign workers.

There's some transfer from domestic workers to domestic capital because the cost of wages

has just gone down.

And there is also an efficiency gain.

So GDP does indeed go up as we increase immigration and it goes up by more than just the benefits

to foreign workers and domestic capital.

However, the incidence of the loss has just fallen on domestic workers and unless we can

actually carry out the next piece of that which is the redistribution everyone is not

winning from this.

There are designated winners and designated losers.

So as economists we understand that there is a tradeoff between efficiency and equality.

And we understand that any kind of redistributive policies that we undertake is going to have

some cost in terms of efficiency which is the amount of welfare that we can actually

provide to a society as a whole.

And achieving maximum efficiency has very much to do with understanding what people's

choices are and allowing them to maximize their choices given whatever the constraint

set is.

Any time you have a tax or any kind of redistributive policy we're changing the incentive structure

by changing the price system.

And so we're introducing a distortion which is always going to have some kind of efficiency

effect.

We're always in this position of needing to decide how much efficiency and how much

overall welfare do we want to give up so that we can actually have a more equal society.

And this is the piece that ends up being more of a political choice than a technical choice.

And it's also the piece that's very hard to get people to push through politically.

Except that what we're now seeing in terms of this populist backlash is that people are

saying things have shifted maybe too much to one side.

Maybe we need to rethink where we are in terms of this trade off.

And, in fact, the establishment and the educated elite understands very well what feels wrong

and they understand that there is a piece of this that we haven't been fully honest

about.

It may not be a zero sum game but it's also not a win-win.

And I order to understand the message that we're getting from rust belt America we

need to understand what the real implications of these policies have been for them.

Gossamer Wings | Lunatick Labs & Kat Von D Makeup Tutorial - Duration: 7:21.

hello guys and dolls and welcome back!

Today we're going to be doing a really

fun look with my Lunatick Cosmetic Labs

Supernatural palette. How gorgeous is

this palette? Seriously? Its coffin shaped,

it's got the whole Ouija board theme, and on

the inside there's like a whole

Supernatural motif, and a bat shaped

mirror! SO Good! Pardon me, I...

my voice might crack a little, I'm getting over a cold. anywayz!

The first color I'm picking up is this one here. What's the name of this shade?

Reincarnation, I believe? Get that all over a

Smith Cosmetics 256, and apply that all over the lid

just to slightly above the

crease it's going to act as our

transitional color as well as the lid

shade. It's nice to kind of base it

out with one color all over.

this is one of those shadows that looks different

in the crease and the lid so it's

one of those one-and-done colors, if

you're in a real hurry.

the fluffiness of this

brush makes it so that it's super easy

to just get it on all over

without having a harsh line. And you can turn

it on its side to blend it up into the

crease. Next I want to pick up Ghoulight

which is this beautiful mauve-y gray and

we'll put this right into our crease

line. I'm using a Smith Cosmetics 247.

I've picked it up on one side and then I

flip it over to deposit and blend it

so that I'm not depositing too much on to

my actual lid.

so before I do the final color my crease

i'm going to use Myth from the palette,

which is super pale highlight shade. As

you can see, it's really pigmented, and good

at camouflaging little hairs

that you need to pluck... it's not doing

the best job right here, I really need to

pluck those! Then I'll take a big

blender brush from Smith Cosmetics and

just blend it all together.

Finally, for my crease, i'm going to pick up

the burgunndy shade from the palette

which is called Spook, and I'll put that

right in my crease. You'll notice that I'm

keeping my eye open while i blend Spook

into the crease; it helps get an idea of

where it's going lay with my

eyes open. To make sure I'm not

applying it too high, or too low or

anything like that. It does warm it up

considerably, but not it's not like super

warm, it definitely has a cooler edge to it.

now this looks so awesome with a little

bit of the Alchemist palette of the top of

it! I'm going to use a Wayne Goss 6 brush

This is a very soft brush it's really

great for doing washes of color or

something like this, when we just want to be

a gossamer overlay.

I'm going to pick up is Ultra-Violet.

i'm just going to use

that like a little sweep over the brow

bone highlight.

The next color i'll use is the blue from this palette.

Place that on the lid we had our base shadow

going to have that neutral base underneath it

So it will reflects a

greenish-blue. Beautiful!

I fiddled with my eyeliner until it

drove me crazy, and still not perfect!

It's just one of those days -we all have-

where your eyeliner just isn't turning

out so I'm just I'm over it

I have better things to do than play with

my eyeliner for like 45 minutes.

One thing you will notice is because I

have hooded eyes, the wing doesn't look

totally straight. When i have my eyes

open. Like it this: looks really good

from this angle or when

eyes are closed, but when eyes are open

it looks a little bit funky. We are

going to correct that with under eye

eyeliner. I'll be using NYX Faux Black in

Midnight, which is a really beautiful

blue color and what I'll do is

take a cue of where to

draw the line, based on where the

winged liner is, and then

I'll smudge it.

these eyeliners come up a little bit dry,

so by immediately smudging them out...

it's important too smudge them

out immediately; If you

let it dry a bit, it'll get a little crusty.

I'm going to use more the colors from Palette...

I'll first go in with the

blue right here on the inner corner

OH! i think i got power in my eye!

That's Horrid!

this will mimic

what's going on in the top part here but

see it's gonna be so much more vibrant

here on the bottom and then I will

go in with violet.

In the Interest of promoting a local

indie brand: Lashes in a Box! It's a San Francisco based

company it's literally a box

of these exact same pair of lashes over and

over again. This is incredible if you

just like a certain pair of lashes!

For glue today, I'll be using duo brush on adhesive. this is the best:

latex-free soyou don't have worry about a latex

allergy. what I will do is get and idea

of where I want these to lay, and then i

will lay down the center section first,

pull the outer section into

the lash line, and then on the inner

portion do the same. Then take the back of

the lash applicator and just press it on

the lash band make sure that it's

properly placed.

Now is a good time to use my Wonder Pencil from NYX.

Really great pencil for your inner rim

it's more like a Kohl pencil so if you

are sensitive to waterproof pencil this

is a good one to use.

Then to do the mascara to my natural lashes,

you will take me like top edge of the

mascara wand just deposit quite a bit of

product down there and then I'll take

the mascara as normal, sweep it

through.

This little random brush i've had for a million years and we're going to place

this on my inner corner here and it's

going to go a little bit more yellow

looking as I creep it into the

crease where the more neutral colors

were, and a little more green as I approach

the blue on the bottom. Next

thing to use is the pink which is only

one it from this palette haven't used

yet, so using my Wayne Goss 15, the Fan Brush, and

pinch the bristles of the brush together

to better get into this little tiny

thing and then I will brush this right

on my cheek bone. The great thing about this

powder is that it has a beautiful

glow.It's not too shiny;

if you want a "Glow to the Gods"

metallic shine, this isn't going to be

the one that you're going to want to go

to for that, but if what you want is a more

subtle iridescent glow, this is perfect!

SO I took Urban Decay lip liner In Turn On

Then over the top of that I used Disobedient

lipstick from the Vice lipstick palette.

Really good combination, nicely deep but

sort of neutral-ish kind of pink

Thank you very much for watching!

I'll see you at my next video, remember

to Be Vintage Or Tacky, but

be your own kind of beautiful. Bye!

Hatsune Miku: Project DIVA Future Tone - [PV] "RinRin Signal -Append Mix-" (Romaji/English Subs) - Duration: 3:15.

"RinRin Signal -Append Mix-" Artist: Dios (Signal-P)

I always end up arriving

At the meeting place way too early

Even though I know very well

That you'll never arrive on time

Although I try to act cold and angry

I still can't help but smile in the end

The fact that I can't match up to your pace

Is making me a little frustrated

This is for sure the first time

That I have this kind of feeling

What should I do? Don't look at me

With those innocent eyes

"I like you!" is what I want you to say

Please hold me tighter

The only person who can

Make my small heart ring is you

If you've heard the Rin sound

That's my signal to you

Listen to it carefully

If you look away then you probably won't hear it

You always complain that

You don't get what I'm thinking

But if I tell you how I really feel

I'll probably end up creeping you out

This is the type of person I am

And you should already know that

I can't say this straight in your face

But I really appreciate everything you do

This is the tactics of love

Isn't that just being mean? No, not at all

But you're holding tightly to my hand

So I guess you're nice and sweet after all

I will tell you "I like you!"

I'll say it so much until you become annoyed

You look really annoyed now

But even if you tell me to stop, I won't

If you ignore my Rin Rin signal

I'll give you a red card as penalty

Saying "I didn't notice" will not do

But if you give me an excuse, maybe I'll forgive you

State of Alert - Israel style - (vpro backlight documentary) - Duration: 47:09.

I couldn't ignore this eye-catcher.

The Europeans don't have the same mentality, culture, experience, DNA...

...as Israel in the fight against terror.

Do you want a white Europe? Then use this technology.

Our government is trying to catch up with regard to security...

...after many years of funding cuts for our security apparatus.

We're in Israel to exchange experiences.

I'm humble. Unfortunately for them, Israel is much more experienced...

...in combating terrorism.

I understand what you mean and I understand your worries.

But these are matters we're now being confronted with.

We fight together against terrorism...

...against people who want to force their ideas on us by violent means.

So what you make is a drone jammer? - It detects and jams.

The system can detect all explosives within 8 seconds.

Does it use sniffing technology? - It measures parts per trillion in the air.

Mena, wait. What is it that you sell?

I sell know-how and advice...

...regarding the security of strategic objects, especially airports.

It usually consists of two main components:

One is risk analysis and a description of the situation.

The other is advice with regard to procedures and technologies.

To whom do you sell it? - To anyone who wants to buy.

If there are problems somewhere, they usually ask me to come.

Mostly outside Israel.

Very often in Africa, a lot less often in Europe.

What is the challenge in selling to Europe?

The core problem in Europe, and I'll try to be cautious and politically correct...

...is the mentality.

The mentality of people who have, or had, a good life.

For I see big changes taking place in Europe.

Some are visible, but most of them take place underground.

In the near future we'll see more and more of them.

Why would people who have a good life and don't have problems...

...worry about tomorrow? That's human nature.

That's the major problem in Europe.

Maybe they protect a certain lifestyle, a mind-set.

They do, but they don't notice, as Spiro Agnew said...

...and I'll try to put it in a decent way:

"The sons of *** changed the rules and didn't tell us."

It is now happening in Europe.

You're an expert on airports. How did you feel after the attack at Zaventem?

Firstly I felt embarrassed about the fact that such a well-prepared attack...

...had eluded the Belgian intelligence agencies.

Part of the problem is legislation in Europe...

...which gives the individual complete freedom.

Understandably, the Europeans wish to protect their freedom and lifestyle.

In Israel we've given up on that. - I understand, but you and me...

...don't fear the Israeli judicial system, which gives security services free rein.

For we are law-abiding citizens and don't belong to a terror organisation.

The profiling method here is one of the pillars of airport security.

Can you explain it? - What does this method entail?

You want to fly, I'm a security officer.

I talk with you, check your passport and ticket...

...and we follow a kind of ritual, a kind of interview.

On the basis of that interview I need to determine, on the spot...

...whether you're trustworthy or not.

The problems start when the passenger shows suspicious signs...

...which could indicate that he's a suspect passenger.

In that case there's a comprehensive search.

The person is frisked and his luggage and hand luggage are searched.

If all passengers are checked in the same way...

...the security system can't find this one person it's looking for.

But that's the logic behind the European and American security system.

And that's why it doesn't work. They put in huge amounts of energy.

A lot of manpower, technology, scanners, security gates, and so on.

It doesn't work? - It's horrible.

What's lacking? - Common sense.

Seriously...

...the Europeans don't have the same mentality, culture, experience, DNA...

...as Israel in the fight against terror. I'm dead serious.

My friends who come to Israel find the airport a disaster.

But with my Israeli passport I'm waved through.

Many people complain about being interrogated and checked...

...but they're not all terrorists. - So?

Should we not check, should we not interrogate, should we not scan?

But it has its price.

Me too, I see people walking around aimlessly at the airport...

I think: What are they doing here?

Yes, and rightly so. You're alert, you keep your eyes open.

Your mentality is totally different.

As an Israeli you grow up with it and it's in your DNA.

For Europeans it's no priority, it doesn't occupy them. Which is understandable, too.

They let other values prevail.

The right to privacy is more important in Europe, or used to be.

And in Israel we should be attentive to them, too.

But security and people's safety are just as important.

Because they are a nation's ultimate goal and responsibility.

Can the Europeans prevent a change in their mentality?

Well, reality will force them to change...

...a reality they have faced for a number of years now.

We have sixty to seventy years of experience...

...with endless confrontations, even wars.

And many of our products have actually been put to combat test.

If you buy military products, one of the major aspects is...

...their operational workability.

Israel exports billions of dollars' worth...

...to clients all over the world.

After the attack in Belgium...

...I went there to investigate, together with a colleague.

One of the things we said was:

As long as there's no collaboration and exchange between security services...

...then... - Was there a failure?

There was an intelligence failure.

The method we've developed in Israel...

...is called "security circles".

The first circle...

...has nothing to do with the airport as such, but more with policies.

That's preventive intelligence.

In Brussels there was no intelligence.

The available information about the underground wasn't passed on in time.

Anyone who comes in is checked.

This is only the entrance. The exit is at the other side.

The exit is somewhere else. This is entrance only.

We differentiate between people who arrive and people who depart.

That makes it much easier to check them.

Good morning. Start work, start streaming.

How many persons have passed so far? - 4432 persons.

the land of the people

a land for always

the land where we were born and where we will live

whatever happens

This call is diverted to an automatic voicemail.

As police chief I was responsible for security at all those border crossings.

And also for monitoring the goods, all the procedures.

So I know them all.

I'd like to talk about the security circles.

Security circles are the solution. Let's talk about the threats.

With that I mean terrorism, not the threat of war.

We've had these dangers here for decades:

Shootings, assaults, car bombs...

...shootings in crowded places, explosives, knife attacks...

...here we've experienced them all.

Over there is the Palestinian side.

Palestinians arriving in big numbers walk through pedestrian locks.

In each lock they're checked.

Then we declare them 'clean' and they can enter the country.

I must emphasise that there's no contact during these checks...

...between security staff and Palestinians.

We use cameras and communicate through loudspeakers.

After checking the person and his belongings he's let through.

Are there ever conflicts?

Do you have to interrogate, detain, frisk?

Of course. We've had people blowing themselves up at crossings.

This is the terminal for goods from the West Bank bound for Israel.

Here we see a Palestinian truck arriving with merchandise.

At the other side an Israeli truck is waiting for it...

...and the goods are transferred from one truck to the other.

Years ago these trucks just entered Israel. That's how infiltrations took place.

It was hard to check each truck for bombs and weapons.

The police then decided...

...that trucks could no longer be allowed in.

So now the vehicle stops and the goods are transferred.

So the fence is one security circle?

There are four security circles:

The circle for intelligence, thwarting and prevention, mainly on the West Bank.

That's a dynamic circle without clear borders. It's intensive work.

A clearer circle is the barrier, which you can see here on the right.

The barriers at the borders are physically recognizable.

If you drive into Israel, you get the next circle, run by the police.

That's also a dynamic circle.

We've left the circle of border crossings and the fence...

...and we're entering the city.

In public spaces such as shopping centres...

...the police instruct the owners about security, according to the law.

You can see a guard at the entrance, who's undoubtedly armed.

Every entrance to the shopping centre is guarded.

You can't film here.

These guys are taking a course...

...in protecting the Israeli railroads.

This starts with a very strict selection procedure.

We assume that the guard always works alone.

We call him the lone warrior. He's always alone.

He has to solve things by himself.

There's no one who gives him orders, no drone that shows him the way.

It has to be brief and aggressive: One person with one solution.

They practice this all day.

They have to act responsibly, they cannot shoot at will...

...and are well trained. That's the level these guys reach.

They're not just civilians walking around with guns.

They're professionals. Because security is a profession.

I landed at Paris airport about six months ago.

After what has happened, I expected a lot of security measures.

But what I actually saw were soldiers with helmets and bullet-proof vests...

...dogs and loaded guns.

To me, as a security professional...

...all that should have been perfectly normal.

But I thought it looked abnormal and excessive.

You don't handle security that way. You don't use a tank.

What will you do with a tank? Fire grenades?

Or will you fire a machine gun, or set your dog on someone?

That doesn't make any sense. I tell you this as an Israeli.

Private security is the backbone of every public facility.

They prevent attacks at the location itself. There's no one else there.

The lone security guard at the entrance...

...is the one who should prevent the attack somehow.

They're working on a project in East Jerusalem.

It's an explosive area. That is evident to us, but the situation is like this:

Palestinians and Jews meeting each other...

...and tourists from all over the world.

With their different views, this leads to friction.

Part of the criticism on Israel is...

...that attackers are shot from far away...

...while it's unclear how dangerous they were.

Those police officers in Europe, what is their task?

They have to fine people and maintain order, that's true.

But when a terrorist starts stabbing people, what do they do?

Will they look at him and try to talk to him? I don't think so.

At least I hope not.

They have to kill him. That is their task. - But there are rules of engagement!

That is a procedure that leads you to fire at the body.

If someone doesn't stop, should I wait for him to come to me?

What would you do? - Run away.

Would you like to have a weapon on you?

I'd run. - But you're not a police officer.

A policeman is not a puppet, he's responsible. What does he do?

So let's say he has a weapon. Will he use it?

Okay, so what does he do with it?

You beg him not to come closer, but he approaches anyway. What do you do?

What does the police officer do?

We do this: We give him an opportunity to stop approaching.

Up to a certain point. And then we stop him, by shooting him.

To kill or to stop him?

To stop him. But sometimes the shots are deadly. Can I help it?

If you hang out with security people for a while...

...you automatically start to look at everyone with suspicion.

For instance, there was a Muslim guy at the university...

...who liked to dress up all in white.

And he was blind.

And after doing a lot of research into security...

...I was almost sure he wasn't blind.

And that's the whole point.

It took me a while to realize he really was blind.

But everything that deviates a little...

...is suspicious right away, because of your state of mind.

And that happens quickly. Within two, three days.

You see someone driving too slowly. Someone asks for directions.

Anything that isn't regular or perfectly organized, is suspicious.

But life isn't like that, and that's the whole point.

It has a big influence on you.

One of the things I wrote about it was this:

The more security you use, the greater the security risk.

It's a small step from suspecting parts of the population...

...to using excessive violence against them.

Comparing it to Germany is a sensitive issue. It's completely different here.

One of the things I can understand better now...

...is that any society can sink this low.

It's not hard for me to understand.

I can understand what happened in Germany, Italy and America.

Because I understand what's happening in Israel.

Because I meet people who are completely level-headed...

...but as soon as you say certain words to them...

...all their morals disappear, and the say: Kill.

Even the university is like a bunker. But nobody mentions it.

In the stronghold of critical thought.

In an extremely suspicious society a binary kind of perception develops.

It doesn't remain constant. There's more than just Jews and Palestinians.

That's only the beginning.

The perception of: Are you with us or against us...

...is a constant test of people's loyalty by the way they look.

Look how you parked your car.

Look how he's parked, and that one over there.

And look at how we're parked.

How? - The other way around.

Why? Because this way we can drive off right away in an emergency.

When there's panic, we won't cause any accidents.

This is 'readiness'.

Individual freedom or not, it's about being alert.

There's always a chance something terrible happens. That's the way it is.

What do you do?

We're passing on knowledge. We don't sell equipment.

This is a training course for leaders.

The second part is law enforcement.

We train them and we 'upgrade' them.

All over the world, but only for foreigners.

No Israelis? - No, they already get military training.

From a very early age, from kindergarten on, so they don't need it.

The third sector is the private security industry.

You see it everywhere now. The Americans use it overseas...

...in their wars in Iraq, Afghanistan and Libya.

We train security personnel, for defence and assistance...

...in the civilian sector.

And in our concept we focus on the entire society.

Come here a minute.

You can't educate society in such a way...

...that people will call 911 and expect someone to come and help.

In the fight against terrorism, it won't happen.

Nobody will come. You are on the scene.

A week ago there was an incident in Israel.

A terrorist attack on soldiers.

An attack on soldiers.

That attack was prevented by a civilian who worked as a guide there.

That's how you run a country.

So that everyone, no matter where he is...

...can help to defend the country and fight against terrorism.

A civilian who isn't prepared, who panics and isn't alert...

Civilians being aware lowers the threat by 80 percent.

Awareness lowers the risk.

But what is the price, of all this,

...when all the civilians are suspicious, ready to shoot, alert...

No, no, not on the alert.

Not on the alert. Aware. That's not the same.

Young people are also trained here. We call it preparation for the army.

High school students prefer to pay for this rather than buy a Gameboy.

They receive training that prepares them for the army.

The young people, and we adults, carry out symbolic exercises...

...to conquer the hill.

Does he have a gun? - Yes, that's part of self-defence.

To walk around with a gun?

Yes, because in our reality he can be a member of a special unit.

Or another category that's allowed to carry a gun.

There's always someone among us who can intervene.

Here, civilians intervened in an attack with vehicles.

They jumped on trucks and tractors that were ramming buses.

They entered the tractor, because there was a terrorist in it.

I don't say there are no heroes. They're everywhere.

That's very important, and it's great.

But here with us, there are more.

People are willing to risk their lives...

...to prevent other people getting hurt.

We do this automatically.

In the army, they teach you right away never to withdraw.

You don't back off in civilian life either. You don't walk away.

Show them that we're the strongest.

Come on, come on, come on.

That's right, you're tough.

When do these kids start training for the army?

When they're fourteen, fifteen or sixteen...

...to be ready for the army at eighteen.

It's always from choice, it's the wish to be a man. To protect.

Why is Israel the arms industry's lab?

We are a lab. Several countries help us with our defence...

...in the form of products we don't manufacture ourselves.

They're sent here to be upgraded for practical use.

We can test for operational use.

Most of the people who work in this industry...

...such as police officers and soldiers, believe in what they do.

They believe that they are fighting evil.

Some people say they considered all the aspects...

...such as human rights and democracy, but there's no other option.

I call it security theology. They live in that system, as it justifies all they do.

If Europe imports weapons, technology and advice from Israel...

...what does it import?

It imports suspicion, and the mechanism to control dangerous groups.

And it imports the war.

Waging the every day war, caused by profiling...

...that drives a wedge between groups and suppresses discussion.

This way, Europe is import the conflict.

If they want an intifada, they'll get one.

They buy the separation. We're here, they're over there.

They buy the wall you can see behind me.

It's the same logic that says: If I see you, and you wear a hijab...

...your brother works at the mosque, your family is poor...

...then you're a security risk.

This is Isawiya, a neighbourhood that has expanded enormously.

But even they though they are Israeli residents, they are seen as security risks.

The border patrol stopped us here.

To them, it's madness for us to walk in there.

If you don't see the segregation...

...and don't see it as a dividing line between friends and enemies...

...between dangerous and harmless people, then you're not afraid.

If you do see the separation and make it deeper, then you are afraid.

There are people who think this is justified.

But we have to ask ourselves what we want in the end.

Don't take the technology and knowledge without asking this.

Do you want a white Europe? Then use the technology.

But if you don't want that, and believe in diversity and integration...

...and if you can do without that racial hierarchy in daily life...

...you don't need the technology.

That there is the Eastern part.

Over there by the horizon is the West Bank.

15 kilometres, you can see it with the naked eye.

This here is a strategic spot.

Because it's the highest point in the area.

You can see everything from here.

You keep finding solutions, and the terror keeps evolving

...but what about a real solution?

If you mean the problems in the Middle East, specifically in Israel...

...then technology certainly isn't the solution.

Neither are the procedures. The solution is politics.

But of course many security people feel that way.

Because we have the experience. We know the problem.

And we understand what the solution is.

That's why many of us think that the solution has to come from politics.

Not from cameras or sensors that register who's jumping the fence.

I don't want them to jump, I want a good neighbour...

...who lives a decent life, like me.

We understand that very well.

Because you know the security problem?

That too, but also because we understand that the solution...

...isn't a sensor, or a procedure for arresting people...

...or for tracking down suspects.

If everyone is doing well, everyone is happy.

How to Tell a Library Story - Duration: 6:18.

My name is Jamie LaRue of the American Library

Association and I'm here today to talk to you about

how to tell a library story.

Alright, and I want to begin with this

idea. First, you may not feel comfortable

being the one who tells the story and

that's okay.

One of the most powerful ways to do this

is to go out into the community and find

someone who is a good speaker, already

respected, and not associated with the

library. Go and invite that person saying,

"We have a script for you, and the script

is available and the ALA.org website,

and we want you to practice this and

give it to a group of people that we'll

arrange for you." It could be Rotary, could be

political group, could be an education

group, could be a library book club.

Typically, someone has a good speaker

likes to give talks, and prepared with

the script, they're all set to do that.

Caiden was three years, old a very, very

smart little boy. And like a lot of smart

three-year-old boys, he went through a

phase where he started to stutter, not at

all uncommon and typically for boys,

typically about that age, and it's just

because the brain goes faster than the

tongue.

It takes a while to get things

synchronized. Typically, that's not a

problem. You read to your children, you

rhyme with them, you sing songs with them,

but mostly you're just patient and the

phase passes. But Caiden's father was a

jerk. And every time Caiden would stutter,

his father would stutter with him. He would say,

Say your name again C-C-C-C-Caiden,"

and he would laugh. Well, this went on

for two years, after which time the

mother decided the father was abusive in

other ways and she got rid of them, but

by then, Caiden had a problem. He stuttered

badly. But Caiden was so smart. He was

part of the one percent of the human

race who taught himself to read. His mother

brought to the library all the time.

And one day, when she was at the library

Caiden looked over and saw a little girl

reading to a dog. The dog's name was Max.

He was a retired greyhound. Retired,

because on his very first day, he burst

out of the gate, ran down the track,

saw stopped, smelled and watered the roses.

This ended his racing career, but then he was

adopted by a childless couple that

discovered Max adored children. So they

had him trained as a service animal, and

he came to the library where children

would read to him. So, the little girl gets up

and walks away and Caiden grabs his book,

goes over and sits down and begins to read.

And at first everything is fine, and Max

looked very interested. But then,

Caiden got stuck, and he could no longer

read. And as his mother watched in

anguish, and Caiden got more and more

frustrated, half angry, half upset. He

lifted his head and stared at the dog,

and Max, radiating love and patience, put

out his paw and just patted Caiden on

the forearm. Caiden took a breath, and he

started again.

Now, I'm not saying that all of Caiden's

problems disappeared in that moment. But his

mother was watching, and she saw that

change in him. And she said, "I'm going to

bring him back to read to that dog. I'm

going to sign them up for speech therapy

classes, and we're going to beat this."

Well, a couple of weeks after this, the childless couple

went off the Europe for three weeks, and

they said, "Caiden, want to

watch Max for three weeks?" He said, Yeah!" So now

we have Max, the best-read greyhound in

Colorado. And eventually time went by, and one

day the mother wrote, four years later, to

the library director to say, "I want to let

you know that Caiden has now been cast

in the lead role of the Wizard of Oz.

Caiden doesn't stutter anymore. Thank you,"

she said, "for saving the life of my son."

All across America, public libraries have

programs where children come in and read

to dogs in the library, because dogs are

such attentive listeners. Libraries

change lives.

Say it with me,

libraries change lives. Or today, as we

would say as part of the library advocacy

campaign, libraries transform lives.

This is how we tell a library story. And

let's break this down again.

How does it begin? Give me a real person,

not just a situation that we serve

teenagers, we serve senior citizens, we

serve children.

Caiden was three years old, specific. Then

give me a problem. That's the hook of the

story.

Caiden stutters. That's the issue, and

that's what gets you emotionally

invested in the story. Then introduce

library as supporting character, not the

main character. Library, what do we do to

intervene, to assist with this? We have a

program where you come in and read to dogs. And then,

give me one fact to ground the story, so

I know you're not just making it up. And

if I say, "many, many libraries around the

country provide programs with dogs." Yeah

okay, that's reasonable. I believe that.

And the last thing is, as a preacher

friend of mine used to say, give them the

phrase that pays. Give them a short,

succinct, memorable phrase that will

carry that message home. And so, note

again that this is the process through

which we don't just keep people

entertained,

we're establishing a message of value,

and we're doing it in a way that changes

people's minds. Not by pummeling them

with facts, which is the library tendency,

to come in and say, "Here's all the information, and

once you know the information, you'll change

your mind." Information doesn't change

people's minds, stories do. And so if I

start with an emotional connection, and

give you one fact at the end and one

phrase that pays this has been

demonstrated by brain research to work.

And that's how you tell a library story.

RESERVED SEATING

An usher in a very posh theater noticed a man sprawled across three seats.

"Sorry, sir," the usher said, "but you're only allowed one seat."

The man groaned but didn't budge.

The usher became impatient and said, "Sir, if you don't get up from there I'm going to

have to call the manager."

Again, the man just groaned, which infuriated the usher, who turned and marched briskly

back up the aisle in search of his manager.

In a few moments, both the usher and the manager returned and stood over the man.

Together the two of them tried repeatedly to move him, "All right buddy," the manager

said, "what's your name?"

"Sam," the man moaned.

"Where did you come from, Sam?"

With pain in his voice, Sam replied, "The balcony."

Natural health - You'll Never Walk Into A Pharmacy Again 100 Percent home remedy - Duration: 1:49.

You'll Never Walk Into A Pharmacy Again : 100% Natural Health Bomb ! You Don't Need

Any Medicine.

This recipe will save you from going to the chemist's in the near future.

It's extremely beneficial for boosting your immunity, which makes it the perfect remedy

for the oncoming season of flu and colds.

Ingredients :

2 lemons, 1 middle sized ginger root,

about 500 gram of honey,

Instructions:

First, you need to wash the lemons and chop them well.

After that, you need to peel the ginger and chop it too.

Then, put them in a clean glass jar.

Add the honey and make sure there is a space left at the top.

Let it sit for a day, so the lemon and the ginger can "release" their juices.

Close the jar and leave it in a fridge for a period of 2 months.

When the mixture becomes gelatinous dilute it with a little bit of warm boiled water

(if you wish).

The recommended daily intake for adults is 2 tablespoons a day, and for children, 1-2

teaspoons a day.
