Georginio Wijnaldum explains how Sadio Mane is reaching top-level quality at Liverpool - Duration: 4:30.

Georginio Wijnaldum explains how Sadio Mane is reaching top-level quality at Liverpool

Liverpool midfielder Georginio Wijnaldum believes team-mate Sadio Mane is starting to show he is one of the best in the world.

The Senegal international has endured a stop-start season so far with a three-match suspension followed by a hamstring problems which saw him sidelined for a month.

However, four goals in his last four matches, including a spectacular volley in the 7-0 Champions League drubbing of Spartak Moscow, suggests the 25-year-old is back on track.

In addition to his goals he is also creating numerous chances for the other members of the 'Fab Four'—Mohamed Salah, Roberto Firmino and Philippe Coutinho—and generally giving opposition defenders a tough time.

"If you show consistency and perform week in, week out then you are one of the best," said Wijnaldum ahead of Sunday's 229th Merseyside derby.

"Of course you will have bad games but the best players in the world have bad games.

"If you are to analyse the season so far you would say they are delivering.

It is normal people would say he is one of the best.".

The form of Liverpool's front four has seen them score 48 goals between them in all competitions with Salah the leading Premier League marksman with 12.

They are arguably one of the most devastating quartets in world football at the moment but Wijnaldum insists it is tough to compare them to anything else he has witnessed.

"It is difficult to say.

At the World Cup I was playing behind [Robin] van Persie and [Arjen] Robben and [Wesley] Schneider was also there—they are all good players," said the Holland international.

"But that was once in a short time, only at the World Cup.

Now I play a whole season with these players so it makes it easier for me to get used to them and them to get used to other players.

"I don't know if it is fair to compare the players with each other.

"Of course a big club will sign good players and when good players come to the team you have to make sure you keep playing at a high level.

Wijnaldum has scored just once in 22 appearances this campaign, virtually mirroring his return from the same period last year when he came good in the second half of the season with five goals.

And despite insisting he wants to score more he accepts the form of team's leading scorers is taking some of the pressure off.

"For me it is always important if you can score goals, everyone wants to score goals," added the Holland international.

"You get less opportunities than I had at Newcastle because there I was a No.

10 so every game I had a few chances to score.

Now I am one position back as a midfielder.

"We have four attackers who can all score a goal; other players—the midfielders and defence—will keep the team together and so you don't often find yourself in a position where you can score.

Sci-Fi Inspired Four Light Fashion Portrait Tutorial - Fashion Photography Lighting Tutorial - Duration: 9:06.

In this video we're gonna see what we can create with four strobes, some blue gels,

a big fan and a gorgeous model with incredible eyes.

And I am going to show you why it's important to emotionally LET GO of your work once you

show it to other people.

Stay tuned

Hey gang!

My name is Joe Edelman and my mission is to help photographers like YOU to develop a solid

understanding of the HOWS & WHYS behind great photography so that you can achieve your goals

as a photographer.

Thanks for checking out this episode of The Last Frame!

This is a cool beauty shot that I did recently while getting acclimated to my new Olympus

camera gear and Interfit lighting equipment.

Like many of my shots, the real credit for this one goes to my makeup artist.

Her awesome makeup combined with an amazing set of eyes on a beautiful model - how could

I go wrong?

This shot is really about the makeup and the amazing amount of detail that was involved

and about the incredible eyes that this young model has, so I wanted to keep it simple and

clean.

The lighting setup is what I would call intermediate skill level.

In front of the model, I have one Interfit Honey Badger mounted on a boom arm and modified

with the Interfit 24" Pop-up softbox with the baffle and front diffuser in place.

You can see that I have this placed directly in front of and above her.

I also have a white Walmart reflector below her and just out of frame to create a soft

clamshell lighting effect.

My model is seated on a posing stool about 8 feet in front of a white Savage Seamless

Paper Background and behind her I have two more Honey Badgers mounted one on either side

and above - both with 30degree honeycombs and blue gels in place.

You can see barn doors in this shot - they are just part of the light mod that holds

my filters and honeycombs - so they are having no impact on the shot.

I used honeycombs to narrow the light spread because I have my model placed about 5 feet

in front of the gelled lights and I didn't want to risk any light spilling into my lens

and creating flair while I was shooting.

Last I have the fourth Honey Badger mounted on a Baby Pin floor stand like the ones I

showed you in this video.

I have a 7" reflector and a dark blue gel on this strobe that is set about 3 feet in

front of the background and aimed up so that the hot spot is directly behind my models

head.

Because the makeup is very symmetrical I knew walking onto the set that I wanted the model

looking straight ahead but I also knew that I didn't want everything in the image to

be square to the camera so you can see here that I had the model push her left shoulder

forward without turning her whole body.

This gives me the diagonal line on camera right that leads up to her face and the nice

flowing curve of her neck and shoulder on camera left.

This shot was made with an Olympus E-M1 Mark II and the new 45mm f/1.2 PRO lens which is

a 90mm full frame equivalent.

The ISO was 200 which is the base ISO for the Mark II and the shutter speed 1/250th

of a second and the aperture was set at f/5.6

The final image required very little post production beyond the usual color, contrast

and sharpening and of course removing of blemishes - I say this just as reminder of the importance

of great hair and makeup.

BTW…. the blue tint on her skin is NOT post production - that is from the rim lights with

the blue gels - I did enhance the color a bit - but it was already in the original shot.

You could of course also do this shot with four speedlights.

And this would look equally as cool if you did a traditional clamshell light with the

softboxes stacked - one on the top and one on the bottom.

If you wanted more drama and defined shadows, a beauty dish would be the way to go.

You know I always promote the idea of "work your shot" Don't assume that your first

idea is your best idea.

So I wanted to explore this a bit more by adding some material.

Our first idea was to drape some blue tulle over the models head - but this felt a little

too much like a hood for my taste so I decided to set up a fan on the floor behind my model

and aimed upwards at the ceiling I took an 8 foot length of sheer blue material and clipped

it in the middle to the back of the models tube top and then used the fan to blow the

material up behind my model.

Now this fan technique takes a little practice to reach a point where you can get predictable

results.

I had my makeup artist positioned in front of the model - behind the camera to coach

the model on head positioning and facial expressions.

I worked from behind the model on camera right manipulating the material and triggering the

camera with a wireless remote control.

It was important to position myself in a way that I wasn't in the shot - was still able

to control the material and wasn't blocking the light from the camera right rim light

behind the model.

Exposure settings were the same for this shot as they were the first one.

This image also required very little post production.

I did eliminate the stitching in the blue material and use a little gaussian blur to

remove the texture of the material so that it wouldn't become a distraction.

Yes - I am a firm believer that there is only one best shot.

Nothing is more frustrating than seeing people show off their work by showing 15 images that

are all clearly shot at the same time.

The more of those images that you look at the less impressed you are.

That said - I wound up with TWO very different photos that each had elements that I really

liked.

There have been times that I have kept TWO versions of an image and used them for different

purposes.

Indeed in this case, the image on the left is square - well suited for Instagram or even

a magazine cover, while the image on the right is horizontal and well suited for a facebook

timeline cover or post or even a two page spread in a magazine.

So I decided to post both shots on Facebook and Instagram and ask people which one they

prefer and why?

The result was an excellent illustration of another lesson that I frequently give to new

photographers…

As an artist - you have to do what you do to the best of your ability and do it in a

way that you are motivated by and satisfied by.

You then have to be gutsy enough to share it with the world and understand that NOBODY

else will have exactly the same experience with the image as you did creating it.

And thats ok.

Needless to say - I got a great response from my followers and it was split almost 50 /50.

So I wanted to read you just a few of the hundreds of votes that I got so that you could

better understand how somebody else might see and experience something completely different

than you do - and that's ok too.

Rhonda commented: I like the square one.

Simplicity is often best.

I think the material behind detracts from her face.

Kiko explained: I would go for the horizontal image because it shows more emotion that in

a way communicates with the audience.

The space between her lips and the squint in her eyes is something that lets me connect

with the image.

Derrick countered with: I would say the square one.

I think her eyes get lost by the fabric.. yes I know the fabric is not covering her

eyes.

But my attention is more captivated by her eyes in the the square shot.

And I like the mouth closed in that one as well.

Jim voted: The horizontal one.

The Eyes are a bit more alluring.

The Flow of the material adds to it.

And the slightly parted lips are more interesting as well.

Steve explains: The square gets my vote.

The model looks more assertive.

I prefer the skin tone too.

Also the bones around the neck flatter the model more than the fabric in the other image.

The shoulder position in the square image gives the impression that the model has turned

her attention to something or someone.

There you have just five of the several hundred comments that I got about which picture is

best.

None of them are wrong.

All of them are the personal experiences that people had with my photo.

As a photographer this is a great way to learn about your own work and how others perceive

it.

Certainly - you know what you intended - you know why you did the things that you did - but

when you show your photo to someone else - their experience is their own - as a photographer

you have no control over it… or do you?

I like to think that I have some control.

In the beginning of the video, I told you that I wanted to show off the makeup and the

eyes and to use symmetry to really hold the viewers attention.

I explained in the first shot that I used the pushed shoulder to create the diagonal

line that leads to the face and in the second shot I was looking for shape in the material

that would frame the face and draw attention to it.

Each result had a different effect for different people but if you read through all of the

comments - overwhelmingly people noticed the models eyes - which is always my goal.

As for me - which is my favorite…

I am still torn.

I love the material on the second shot - but I think part of that is because I know how

hard it was to get the material to behave like that.

The square shot with it's simplicity is more along the lines of what I would usually

pick.

So I will keep both finished images available and use them independently - but after this

video - never together at the same time.

I hope that gives you some ideas, take this idea and run with it - go create and show

me what you come up with.

Until next time, Please hit that thumbs up and subscribe so that you don't miss any

videos and go pick up that camera and shoot something because your BEST shot - it's

your NEXT shot, so keep learning, keep thinking, keep shooting.

Adios!

Even though we're near, I can't love you

I want to throw my arms around you and hug you, not letting you go far

I want to snuggle against your shoulder, to stand beside you

How One Woman Lost 40 Pounds of Fat and Saved Her Life - Duration: 4:51.

How One Woman Lost 40 Pounds of Fat and Saved Her Life!

After a big health scare, Jeanenne Darden managed to lose an amazing 22 percent of her

body weight.

Find out how she did it.

Before: 187 pounds ! After: 146 pounds !

The Lifestyle ! Jeanenne Darden, a strong swimmer, had been

making her way out to a sandbar in Aruba with her six-year-old daughter riding on her back.

Then, suddenly, she started gasping for air and going under.

"My friends were 45 yards away and couldn't hear me," she says.

"I thought, 'It's over.'"

Fortunately, a friend spotted her struggling in the over-her-head water and pulled her

onto the beach.

But her troubles didn't end when she recovered her breath.

Back home in Orlando, Florida, she was diagnosed with a severe valve regurgitation in her heart.

"You are in congestive heart failure," the doctor said.

"You must have the wrong person," Jeanenne says she told the doctor.

"I've always been fit."

Two days later, Jeanenne had open-heart surgery to repair a mitral valve that wouldn't close.

For the second time in a week, her life had been saved.

But the trauma left severe psychological scars.

The recovery was slow and fraught with complications—like a grapefruit-sized blood clot that required

more surgery and caused extreme pain—so she stopped all exercise.

She started eating more and gained 40 pounds, making her the heaviest she's ever been, at

187 pounds.

Jeanenne had always been lean and athletic.

She had natural childbirths at ages 42 and 45.

Even during pregnancy, her friends would say, "Gosh, Jeanenne, your arms look amazing."

Her husband is renowned exercise researcher Ellington Darden, Ph.D., author of the book

The Body Fat Breakthrough.

The Dardens had a full gym in their home, but Jeanenne couldn't bring herself to use

it.

"I was so depressed thinking I'd never be the same," she says.

"I love clothes, but my clothes didn't fit any more.

I started to hate myself."

The Change ! That's when it clicked.

Jeanenne knew that it was up to her to make a change.

So she started small: This southern girl who grew up on sweet tea stopped drinking sugary

beverages and wine and drank only water.

With that change alone, Jeanenne says she felt her "fat pants" getting loose.

Next, she cut back her portion sizes and started keeping a food diary.

"Once I dialed in my discipline and saw the scale, I was unflappable," she says.

The Reward In 20 weeks, Jeanenne lost 37 pounds and her

protruding belly.

Plus, she fit into her old skinny jeans.

Now she's back down to 146 pounds, with three pounds of new muscle and a body fat percentage

of just 19.

Five months earlier, it had been 35 percent.

Most important, Darden's depression has lifted.

"My self-esteem is back," she says.

"I feel so lucky to be alive."

Jeanenne's Tips ! Hydrate, hydrate, hydrate.

Jeanenne embraced the super-hydration "fat bomb" strategy from her husband's research,

drinking a gallon of ice water a day.

"I have an 18-ounce blue tumbler with a straw that never leaves my side," she says.

"I'm constantly filling it with ice water."

Use smaller plates.

Jeanenne swapped out her normal dinner plates for downsized ones to take the guesswork out

of serving herself smaller portion sizes.

"I ate normally," she says.

"I just ate less of everything."

Focus on negative training.

Jeanenne's husband is a proponent of negative training, a technique that involves doing

the lowering part, or "eccentric phase," of a resistance exercise very slowly to result

in greater stress being put on your muscles.

This really helped her kick her weight loss into high gear.

You Can Change!– Becoming a better version of yourself - Duration: 12:57.

tonight you'll see then you really can change and feel that kind of

transformation in your life just like the lizard man that could

Hey how you doing tonight excellent the basic belief that you can change the idea that you

can become something better is such a fundamental part of any form of personal

growth and I want to illustrate this idea for you in the form of a little story

you see back in the 90s there was this young man named Dustin he enjoyed

playing video games bowling and taking funny pictures of his cat but more than

anything else what he really wanted was to rule the world and more specifically

he wanted to join an elite class of lizard people who secretly controlled

all world governments through a series of shadow organizations according to

many reputable conspiracy theorists their existence is a well documented rumored fact

now everyone else around him said that's just stupid this is

ridiculous you have to be born an elite lizard person you can't just become one

Dustin was born into a working-class family of humans and they all told him

that the idea that he could just become one of this elite ruling class that

controlled all world governments and media just wasn't in the cards for him

but he refused to listen to the haters he really wanted to rule the world he

was ambitious yeah the kid had dreams and more importantly he understood that

to achieve any goal the first step is to believe that you can this seemed like

common sense to him but even with his ambition he still had some doubts about

whether he could really change his life in this way I think this is something

that we can all relate to part of the reason that it's so difficult to make

these kinds of changes that we want is that we've never done it before

history is often the best indicator what will happen in the future but we can't

use that line of thinking here because we want something that we've never done

before it hasn't happened yet so we just have to assume that we can make these

kinds of changes that we want but this can kind of play tricks on our mind it's

hard for us to really grasp to that and our minds have a tendency to just look

directly towards the past for reference and have trouble envisioning something

that there's not yet occurred but Dustin realized that he did have

actual evidence that people really can change it's just that this evidence

didn't come from him there's plenty of material out there about other people

who have made really drastic miraculous change in their lives and you can use

that as a template to model those people and to try figure out how you can do

that as well as in just as inspiration and evidence that this can happen

Dustin read these stories and biographies and they began to implant--

messages into his head that's this is really possible he can really change and

he studied these people I mean when he wasn't looking funny cat pictures obviously

remember this phrase biography is not prophecy say it with me now

come on it's audience participation time biography is not prophecy your entire

life can change in just an instant in fact it only takes a little change to

cause your life to go in a completely different direction just small change in

trajectory can cause your life to go in a completely different place than it was

headed before especially over the long term kind of incredible isn't it and

what Dustin realized is that not only could he change but he was going to

he didn't have a choice and neither do you change is inevitable it's the only

constant you are going to change you're not going to be the same person twenty

years from now that you are today stuff's going to happen you're going to

experience new things and you're gonna learn some stuff at least I hope so

so for Dustin it wasn't a question of if he could change but whether or not he

could control that change would you just let life happen to him

just continue bobbing along on the tides of fate like everyone else he knew or

would he try to take control of that chart his own course move in the

direction that he chose now everyone else told him that he should really just

give this up he should just go work for his cousin Ricky's construction crew and

quit trying to be a part of this global conspiracy run by Reptoids wearing human

skin but he was absolutely committed to

making these changes in his life that would allow him to make his dreams come

true and it all started with him reprogramming his brain so that he could

truly believe that he could change and one way that you can do this that's

worked really well for me is just by hearing these messages over and over

again until they really start to sink in in fact that's why I've made this video

for you so imagine your brain is like a big field of grass and creating a new

neural pathway is like people walking through that grass they have to walk

through the same spot over it again and again in order to create a path through

there eventually and hearing messages like this hearing a message like you can

change over and over again through different places in different media

creates that path it creates that connection in your mind and it's only a

matter of time before you begin to believe it now just to be clear I don't

actually believe in David Icke style conspiracy theories about

half lizard people running the world I think that's kind of ridiculous but I

think it's important to know that we can become better that we have the ability

to improve and that we can always change and I think that's amazing so maybe you

want to be like Frieza from Dragon Ball Z and be able to change forms and power

up before a fight or maybe you just want to get in shape and spend a little bit

more time at the gym or you could decide to be a ruthless corporate raider like

Gordon Gekko from the film Wall Street or maybe you just want to get a better

job the point is you can always do better you can always transform your

life in fact there have actually been studies that have proven that just the

simple belief that you're able to improve actually helps you do better at

things this is what psychologists call a fixed mindset versus a growth mindset

and what this is is a set of assumptions or beliefs that we tell ourselves about

ourselves people with a fixed mindsets believe that they only have a certain

number of resources available to them in their brain and that that's the most

they can do they can't go beyond that but people with a growth mindset know

that they are able to acquire new skills and new abilities and grow their

potential and this has actually been shown to help people grow people with

the growth mindsets actually improve more than people who don't believe that

they can so if you've ever heard that old phrase whether you think you can or

you think you can't you're right there's actually some truth to that it turns out

that psychologists have proven that the assumption that you can't get better

actually stops you from getting better if you assume that you can't improve

then that limits your ability to improve very quickly so does this mean that

you can improve indefinitely that you don't have any limits well probably not

you probably do have limits but I can practically guarantee you that you

haven't reached those limits yet and it's really dumb to try to put a cap on

yourself and say or artificially tell yourself this is all I can do because

the truth is you don't know what your limits are in fact I don't think anyone

knows what our limits are exactly so it's really a bad idea to just assume

that you can't do any better than you're doing now because chances are you really

can and believing you can helps you to do that there was a time when science

told us that after a certain point our brains would stop growing and that would

be our limit but now we know you can actually work that out like a muscle

thanks to MRI technology we know that learning a new skill can produce new

gray matter in the brain or that learning a new language can creates

new neural connections even into old age so I guess you actually can teach an old

dog new tricks assuming that he believes he can learn so whatever happened to

Dustin well no one knows he began hanging out with an enigmatic crowd of

wealthy people then he left his old life and all of his records were just

mysteriously wiped from the system but in the years since then there have been

millions of funny cat pictures and videos uploaded to the Internet as if

there were some kind of conspiratorial hand controlling those events

coincidence but the truth is it doesn't really matter what happened to Dustin

what matters is that you have the ability to change your life and it all starts

with that simple message to yourself that you can change just imagine how

powerful it would be if you knew that you couldn't fail if you knew for sure

that you could achieve whatever your desires are that you could have whatever

you dreamt there's definitely stuff that you do every day that you are absolutely

sure that you can do without even really thinking about it can you imagine how

great it would be if you could apply that same sort of mindset to things that

you've never done before if you could just attack your goals and your dreams

with that level of confidence I admit I'm not there yet but it's a very

compelling idea and I would definitely like to know what that's like and be

able to pull that off wouldn't you well we're going to keep working on that

because I believe that we can all find our inner lizard person and we can all

learn to rule our own worlds until next time this is False Prophet saying stay

evil but keep changing and good night

and this isn't even my final form

Unit 4 Introduction - Duration: 4:44.

Hi again everyone, and welcome to unit 4. We've reached a very important stage in

our course. And I believe this is one of the most popular units I have found with

most students. In this unit we're going to learn how to effectively search and

locate material from the library database resources. To begin with let's

do a little recap of the search techniques we learned in the previous

unit. You recall the good old boolean operators: and, or, not. "And" is used to

combine two terms in a search in which both terms need to be located or used in

a particular document, in order for it to be retrieved in results. In our example

here, endangered species "and" global warming, will retrieve only the green

articles, that use both of those terms. So as you can see using "and" is an effective

term to use in order to limit the number of your search results. On the other hand

"or" is used to combine two subject terms in which either or both terms are used in

particular article. In our example, corn ethanol "or" corn fuel, will retrieve all

the articles that use either one of those terms. So as you can see "or" is a

useful operator to use if you want to expand or increase the number of your

search results. And finally "not" is used to exclude a particular term from your

subject search. In our example, Miami Dolphins "not" football, will exclude all

the white area or football subject articles. Next let's review truncation and

wildcard symbols. As you recall, the truncation symbol is usually represented

by the asterisk, which is added to the end of a word in order to indicate to the

database to search all the variant forms of a particular subject. So in our

example here, teen*, will retrieve all articles from the subject: teen,

teens, teenager, teenagers, teenaged.

The wild-card symbol, which is usually

represented by the question mark or pound sign, depending on the database,

is used to replace a particular character, in order to retrieve all the variant

forms of a particular word. In our example wom?n, will

retrieve articles on the subject "women", as well as "woman". Now let's move our

discussion specifically to the library databases. To begin with I should

explain that the library databases offer access to a wide variety of material:

ebooks, reference books, like encyclopedias, full-text articles from

magazines, journals, newspapers. and various other resources. In addition

there's a variety of types of databases. As you can see we have specialized

subject databases, if you want to focus your research on a

literature topic, or fashion, or business, we have specialized subject databases.

In addition we have many general databases. The general databases are useful to

search for full-text articles from journals, newspapers, and magazines on

any topic. And next in this unit we're going to learn about the specialized

features that the databases offer in order to assist you with your search. As

an example you can see that the databases offer you the ability to limit to

simply full-text articles, to a date range of articles, as well as a specific

publication type. So as you can see we have quite a bit to cover in this unit

so if you're ready let's get started.
