Hi my name is Mei. I'm 19 years old

I'm currently living in Seoul, South Korea

and this is the last episode of 'My life in Korea'

Before starting with this episode, I wanna say thanks to all of you for your support

to be honest, I never though more than 10 people were gonna watch this

and the first episode is over 300K views

so in honor to that, I'm wearing the same outfit that I wore in the first episode

the only difference is that my hair color has changed and I am wearing a hat

I lost those earrings but I am wearing my 'Seoulmate' necklace

because I consider you as my Seoulmates, and I will always do

it's something that I wanted you and me to have

'cause clearly many things that happened to me happened because of you

I'd not have imagine any of this

What I said in the first episode about my family supporting me to come to Korea

I think many people misunderstood that and have the wrong idea of me

when I said that my family supports me I didn't mean that they give me money

many of you think my mom and dad give me money to live in Korea

but they don't, I work really hard

with my job I pay my rent, food and more stuff. It's really hard

I've always liked to be independent, and for those who doesn't know I've never lived with my dad

so that theory about my dad being rich and spoiling me is wrong, sorry to dissapoint you

I respect a lot my mom and her job, she works really really hard

and I think she should just follow her dreams

so that's why I work so hard, to follow mine and to be able to support myself

I don't want this video to lose focus so I will jut continue it as a normal epidose

even though it's the last one

I was invited to a radio interview

but I couldn't record that

at the end, they gave me a cupon for Emart

it's just like a normal supermarket

so I told my friend to go with me because I didn't wanna go alone

I gave up on going since there were no tickets, even she tried to get them through a giveaway

we didn't get anything

I don't know how, but she was in twitter and saw someone who has offering tickets

that person couldn't go to KARD's concert

this was a big blessing

My friend asked to him for the tickets, probably we'd have to pay him but no

that person literally gave away the tickets

As I said, it's a blessing. I don't think this is luck cause in the past I helped someone to meet KARD

this was just too unexpected, I never thought this was gonna happen

I accomplished most of the things I wanted before turning 20 years old

One of the things I am most grateful, blessed and proud of is to have signed with

the best company in Korea being 19 years old

not even in my craziest dreams this was possible

How to Predict a Company Crisis: Uber, Lego, Marvel Comics - Duration: 9:07.

Y'know, overload – just think of all we see of Uber in the paper.

We found four things that we called the "west winds" that hit rapidly growing companies

and push them off track, and we called them the west winds.

And one was having revenues growing much faster than you can grow talent.

And just think of Uber, which has had as many as 13 of its top 20 positions unfilled and

that has been having difficulty recruiting the most talented women because of some of

the cultural issues.

And when your talent is not growing at the same rate as your revenues breakdowns begin

to happen.

A second element of the west winds is what we call lack of accountability.

And you can look at the culture as it evolved in Uber, which has been well reported, and

say, "who is really accountable for the norms and values—deep, soulful values—of

a company?"

And it's very easy to neglect that in the context of growth and hype and excitement

and celebrity.

Or a third one, or a third of these winds is what we called lost voices from the frontline.

And if you look at, for example, the loyalty numbers that you can find all over the internet

of Lyft versus Uber drivers, what you find is that the loyalty of Uber drivers is going

down, because they're a little bit frustrated with a lot of the publicity and with some

of the behaviors that they've observed, and they're more disoriented about the company.

And so these west winds hit rapidly growing companies.

And what we found is that when we looked at these unicorns, we took 26 unicorns about

10 years ago, 10 to 12 years ago, and we traced them.

And we found that virtually 100 percent of them—and two-thirds of them had slowed down

dramatically and never hit what people wanted them to.

Uber would be an example.

And second, we found that in virtually all of the cases the deep inner root cause was

not that it was a bad idea in the first place or the market had gone away; It was actually

inner breakdowns like this case.

And all of these linked to the founder's mentality, 1) of linkage to the frontline,

2) maintaining a clear purpose versus overcomplicating what you're trying to do and becoming greedy

and doing too much, and 3) creating mini founder experiences that make people really want to

become part of it.

The second crisis is the more predominant crisis, and it's what we call a stall-out.

So if you think of a company, let's say like Lego, which since the 1930s was a great

founder company through three or four generations.

The first did it in wooden blocks.

The next brought it to plastic.

The next created the business systems.

And it was voted the toy of the year by the British toy industry.

And yet the next generation began to say "No, what our core is is the brand.

We're not a toy company."

And so they went into many, many things that massively complicated the business from theme

parks to joint ventures with Steven Spielberg in small theaters to retail endeavors to plastic

watches to books, and on and on and on.

And it sucked the energy out of the core and resulted in stall-out to a point where the

company had 18 months of cash left.

And the solution to that was to massively reduce complexity, exit all those businesses

(by the CEO who courageously went in, Jorgen Vig Knudstorp, well reported in the press)

and it gave the company 12 years.

He brought technology into the bricks.

He found out who the core customers were.

They didn't know there were 400,000 people who are obsessed with Lego, they brought them

into the design process.

And they did many, many things to actually go back to the essence of what made the company

great in the first place, which was the mission of learning, and the customer desire for toy

systems that would help children creatively.

And they even did things like take the corporate headquarters (which was in a bright, gleaming

new building) and brought it back into the factory and the distribution center.

So that's an example of stall-out, and that's an example of a company that then had 12 years

of very, very good growth as a result of, in a sense, finding the key to it—where

the Founder's Mentality elements were part of the playbook.

The third one is free-fall, and this is where the business model really does come into question.

And in nine out of ten companies that see their business model become potentially obsolete—Blockbuster

Video—never make it, never make it.

But some do, some do.

When you think of what happened to Marvel Comics and the rebirth of Spiderman, that

was a company where people weren't buying comic books any more, and yet a group of investors

and some of the original employees brilliantly saw that it could be repurposed around the

stories and the characters for videos, for video games and for movies, and completely

changed the business model.

But the essence of that also... and now owned by Disney... but the essence of that also

was actually going back to say, "What is our real purpose?

How do we contact the people at the front line, and how do we create new owner's mindset?"

which they did through private equity.

And so when we look at these three critical crisis periods (of stall-out, overload and

freefall), we found these elements of a Founder's Mentality where both previous indicators of

losing internal health—that could have been seen earlier, and then second, there were

elements of the playbook of rejuvenation.

So the first thing to me is, I realize in even our own country, America, is a country

of founders.

And when you lose the founder's mentality as a country you lose something in your soul.

The second insight for me is how breakdowns occur inside first.

You know, in our bodies, if we're not performing well in sports or at work or in our life,

so much of that is not because we don't know how to hit a tennis ball or we don't

know the mechanics of our job, more often it's something that's going on.

We're distracted, we're tired, we're not feeling healthy.

Something else is bothering us in the environment.

And that's true of companies too.

I think the idea that 85 percent of the breakdowns of organizations were preexisting conditions

under the surface—like an iceberg—that could have been seen is a very powerful lens

and it's reshaping how we think about strategy and the deep root causes of success at Bain.

And the third theme is complexity.

You know when uh about 12 years ago I moved to Amsterdam with my wife (and we just came

back), and we lived there.

And when we left we decided that our lives had been too complex.

And so we sold half of our things and cleaned out all of our closets.

We stopped all our magazine subscriptions.

We did many, many, many things to create more of a tabula rasa, and we took nothing with

us to a new country.

We bought new furniture.

We got a new house.

We made friends there.

We tried to learn the language, et cetera.

And yet now we've come back to America and our complexity has all crept back in.

It's like barnacles that accumulate on a boat.

And if that's true for two people who are self-aware of this and control their lives,

imagine how true it is for organizations of thousands of people, dozens of business elements,

myriads of departments, thousands of products, dozens of geographies—the complexity accumulates.

And so complexity is the silent killer of growth.

That's the third, I think, big insight.

Complexity is the silent killer of growth.

And it happens at the level of the company, as it did with Lego.

They eliminated everything but the toys when it went back to renew itself.

It happens at level of an organization, where power flows into big corporate centers when

it should be at the frontline.

It happens at the level of processes—If you read Jeff Bezos' recent shareholder

letter on Amazon he talks about when process becomes the outcome you're in real trouble.

And very often "I followed the process" is what people say to protect themselves.

And it even happens at the detailed level of products.

We look at how some startups have taken over, or how online banking with just the simplest

stick figure business model can take over—from huge gigantic multinationals—take over a

lot of market share.

And so to me these are the three lessons are the deep inner root causes are often under

the surface and need to be found, the roots of leadership and humility are in the great

founders and we need more of them, and they're the national treasure, and that complexity

is the silent killer of growth and progress.

- Those plants are growing up really nice... This time we're going to see a selection by Sensi Seeds. They

- offer a great line of regulars and those growers selected mothers from there to feed their gardens of clones.

- A garden full of Sensi Seeds... Really different varieties and phenotypes they select to finally get a mother.

- Sative phenotypes or indica phenotypes... This time they're not working

- rudelaris crosses, so avoiding automatics. Inside of the big line by Sensi Seeds,

- we're going to see it's represented with important strains. This time, the most exemplars are Afghan

- and other Skunks... There are other plants so they're going to obtain really nice fruits.

- We can see the early process of a plant's development. This time we're going to see

- they're selecting the strongests to transfer to the growth garden,

- so they're removing the weak plants. There is a thermo hygrometter here,

- where we can see the thermic balance... Humidity is perfect for plant's development...

- With a 63% that's nice... It could be higher for growht, but no problem.

- Temperature is 26.2 degrees... Not bad... But a little bit excessive. The lamp is on

- and it's normal in this kind of room, even without air conditioneers.

- What happens? Normally during growth, we don't have to adjust so much...

- So these values will be adequate for growth, like high humidity that we'll adjust down for bloom. But no matter

- with those details because it will be adjusted in bloom room, to avoid any fungus creation or something.

- We know that, when we've got strong flowers and humidity is high, we can have problems and loose a part

- of the harvest. We'll keep these differences between growth room and bloom room.

- We must avoid stress between room changes, specially for bloom,

- because if it happens during growth, it will stop and then will grow back if you threat it well. If we

- need it, we apply Revive, by Advanced Nutrients, that returns all strong back to your plant.

- This is what we exactly need. If we have bigger ones, tag a few brotes and put them into bloom, to sex it.

- Then you'll know what must be removed. With that selection, we won't get only females, and, from regulars,

- we'll get really stable clones, and it's important to avoid genetic degradation.

- Now that i'm showing this garden to you, and it's about mother plants, you can learn how to do clones

- checking our video about it, including one method to do this... We'll show ours later. It works really nice

- if you know well all parametters, specially for regulars... You must know the early bloom stadiums,

- because you could damage all your harvest... It's a selection room so no problem, but if you plant regulars

- and you don't know how to select, you can grow males and its pre flowers

- could open and pollute your garden, so you'll obtain buds full of seeds...

- Pretty negative at smoking time... Less effects too, because plant focuses on creating seeds instead of

- create resin. Different skills in all those plants... Once selected, more adjusted irrigations.

- There are plants that don't accept mineral fertilizers... We use organics and as always we recommend

- to use bases like Iguana and a few additives avoiding any kind of mineral rest.

- I always like to say i like a little mineral touch to make more rich organic extracts... Easy to correct with little

- mineral additions. Growth is really important because it determines how strong plants are until arriving bloom.

- Let's feed it strongly to get the best root mass and let it absorv all nutrients during bloom.

- High quality nutrients that we don't want to loose. Take care of the root. They're using Voodoo Juice and

- Tarantulla and you can combine it with Piranha to get awesome root effect to arrive bloom with great

- roots to absorv nutrients and create big delicious flowers... This dutch bank of seeds is international since

- a few years ago and it works strains from the origin, from Landraces... Really important original work

- by Sensi Seeds. Here we can see how this Kush phenotype shows all its Afghan side... Original touch

- with hard and dense leafs of an indica plant from Afghanistan... Satives at the origin ...

Today we have a look at "I will survive"

You know throughout my short life there have been a few things that are reliable and never

let me down.

They are comfort in a world that is otherwise chaotic.

Things like my favorite football team always sucking and never winning the playoffs.

I'm looking at you jerry jones!

McDonalds tasting oh so great going in but coming out oh so shitty.

Literally.

And disney producing some of the most family friendly and heart warming movies you can

imagine.

In fact my very first memory of going to a movie theatre was to go see the lion king

all the way back in the 90's when the world seemed to be much simpler and wholesome.

Fast forward 20 years and the world has become all sorts of effed up!

And if you think that disney isn't subject to that change either then you have another

thing coming my friend.

Just last year in 2016 disney released the animated film Zootopia to much critical acclaim.

It quickly became one of the highest grossing films of the year and even one of the highest

grossing animated films of all time!

And in that process it helped disney add more cash to their already enormous pile of cash

fueled by parents need to distract their brat children!

*crying*

Both kids and adults loved the story of Judy and Nick, a rabbit and fox team that work

together to uncover a conspiracy plaguing the city of Zootopia.

So let me ask you this?

What does the topic of Zootopia and abrtion have in common?

Nothing right?

Well that's what a normal person would think but you forget we live in 2017!

A time when nothing makes sense!

You see in March of 2017, the talented deviant art artist Borba created a zootopia fan comic

titled "I will survive".

It has nothing to do with that one song by that one chick.

I know what you're thinking… people make tons of fan comics and art of popular franchises

all the time!

What's the big deal with this one?

Well, this one dealt with the topic of keeping or getting rid of a child judy and nick apparently

conceived together!

Yeah!!!

Like I said…welcome to 2017.

You better Take a picture otherwise nobody will believe half the stuff going on this

year is real.

The comic itself is pretty amazing artistic wise.

Borba is very talented.

And as far as storyline goes, it plays out like a damn soap opera with the drama set

to 10 nearly the whole time.

You see judy informs nick that she is pregnant!

Apparently rabbits and foxes can bang and have a kid, but surprisingly, that's not

the primary focus here.

You see nick wants the baby and is super excited to be a dad.

But judy is focused on her career and thinks the baby may ruin her chances at succeeding

in life.

When Judy begins to explain this to nick he is upset and argues that the life should be

given to their unborn child.

But judy continues to argue her point about her career saying that she will do almost

anything for it.

and Nick responds with the brutal comeback of "it seems like you could even kill our

baby for your career"

Upon hearing those words,Judy snaps.

Pimp slapping nick harder than any rabbit has slapped a fox before.

After receiving the strike, nick wisely removes himself from the situation and informs Judy

that he is leaving and her choice is the wrong choice.

The comic ends with judy crying on the ground as nick leaves their apartment.

and the author leaves the reader with the final words of

Nothing Lasts forever.

Even an apparently everlasting love

that has triumphed over the odds

and many challenges

May eventually come to an…

End

as the comic itself ends.

God damn! talk about intense drama!

I haven't seen anything this dramatic since my last family holiday! and to be honest,

I haven't seen anything this weird for quite some time.

Especially when you consider that the characters and subject matter are the complete opposite

of family friendly like disney would most likely want.

Many people have speculated that the comics intention was to create a pro-if narrative

and push that belief upon it's readers.

But borba responded to this as not being the case or his intentions.

But that hasn't stopped the internet from having all sorts of fun with the comic!

Creating memes and interpreting the storyline in strange and funny ways.

With many people taking the regular dialogue of the comic and altering it to fit a new

joke.

Or taking the artwork and putting them in brand new situations, often crossing them

with other notable memes.

I swear!

Everyday I wake up and everyday things just get more weird and odd.

heck who knows, Maybe the cowboys will actually make it to the playoffs this year? on second

thought, Nahhh! that's not gonna happen.

So there you have it!

What started off as a family friendly animated film made it's way to the internet where

it was re-imagined in a surprisingly odd way.

But I want to make my lip gloss super red so I decided to drip in a drop of red food coloring.

Remember that little goes a long way here so you really don't need much food coloring

to make the color super vibrant.

The last thing we got to do is to pour our deliciousness in a lip gloss container.

You can use a bottle of an old gloss or by these empty containers on line for very cheap.

Here it is - a beautiful, super shiny lip gloss, which smells amazing and tastes even better!

It will give your lips a beautiful glossy red tint, plus you can have it as a sweet

little treat.

I love how you can make these in all the possible colors.

I also wanted to try the berry flavor.

Here I squeezed the candy directly into the lip gloss bottle.

To make the color brighter and more potent I added a drop of blue food coloring.

Mix it up or shake a little bit and you get a gorgeous bright blue lip gloss!

I can't get over how amazing this DIY is.

Squeeze candy lip glosses are seriously the best and comparing to usual glosses they are

way more affordable.

If you don't press the powder down super tight you end up with more like a loose bronzing

powder, which honestly works just as great.

Cocoa is broadly used to make bronzers even by the well known cosmetic brands.

So why not making our own for way cheaper, right?!

If you want to make a lighter color you can mix in a bit of corn starch.

To get a super dark version use a non sweetened 100% cocoa powder.

This bronzer will keep us looking fresh and glowing, as if we just came back from a vacation

by the sea.

using a hammer.

Pop a tablespoon or two of these crushed goodies into a container.

Add a spoonful of sugar.

I happened to have blue sugar at home but the usual white one works just as great.

Lastly you want to squeeze on a bit of honey or any other syrup.

It's time to mix all of our scrub ingredients together and check out how beautiful this looks!

All you need to do is make a short trip to the kitchen and mix it up yourself.

Pop a few meringues in a zip lock bag.

Time to grab a hammer and crush them really well.

If you feel like you still have some bigger chunks left use a sifter to get rid of them.

To make it really shiny and glowy, grab some metallic silver food coloring in a dust form.

Depending on how much shine you want to get from your highlighter, put in a bit or a lot

of this magical sparkly dust.

Give it a good mix to allocate the silver dust evenly throughout the highlighter.

Prepare the container where you want to store this sweet glowy dust.

Last but not least you want pour in your powder highlight.

You guys will be surprised by how great our meringue highlighter works.

It makes your skin super shiny, but it doesn't feel weird or sticky at all.

I like to apply it on the top of my cheekbones for some healthy glow and sparkle.

Well, I got an idea – if they color your tongue they should also color your lips.

So I tried it out and it works!

If you rub the lollipop on your lips for a minute or two, they will get all colored up!

Of course this calls for only one thing – we got to make a DIY tinted lollipop lipstick!

Wow!

For the packaging it's best to go for something rounded like these pretty disco ball lip balms.

Never throw away old lip balm containers, because you can always wash them and recycle

in future DIY projects.

Tinted lollipops come in a bunch different colors.

I decided to go for the most wearable one, which is red.

Take some cutting pliers or just strong scissors and snip away the lollipop stick like that.

Pop the lollipop into your container and if you like you can even glue it down with some

edible glue.

If that's not the worlds best lipstick then I don't know!

Quick and easy to make, super cute, tinted and edible!

But it's not just edible – it's actually super duper amazingly delicious.

It will make your lips rosy and glossy, plus you can have a yummy sweet treat always on hand.

You can even prank your friends with it.

I'm sure they'll be so confused seeing you with this out of this world epic lipstick!

Few things in this world are better than nutella, am I right?

I love to have it on my pancakes, a piece of bread or I even make a hot chocolate out of it.

Although let's not lie – it probably tastes the most delicious straight from a jar.

Anyway, today we're going to use it for something quite different – we're making a nutella lip scrub.

Take a large spoonful of this yummy hazelnut spread and put it in a mixing bowl.

Add tablespoon of classic caster sugar, which will serve as an exfoliant.

The final ingredient is coconut oil – you can skip it if you like, but it will make

the scrub a bit more liquid and easier to use.

Mix the ingredients together and the world's most delicious lip exfoliant is pretty much

done.

Pour it in a jar or any other container where you want to store it.

This looks so delicious!!

I just want to take a straw and have it as a drink!

Since presentation is important I decided to decorate my nutella scrub jar with this

orange bow.

Ta-da now it looks even more irresistible.

Use it to exfoliate your lips or make it as a gift for your friend.

If your lips are usually super dry like mine, exfoliating will make a huge difference.

Sugar grains will rub away all the dead skin cells while coconut oil provides moisture,

leaving your lips soft and smooth.

Last but not least nutella will make sure that the whole exfoliating experience is super

enjoyable for you and your tummy!

This scrub will keep your lips beautiful, plus it will give you chance to have some

delicious nutella in a sneaky way!

What else is missing in our edible makeup bag?

Hmm... mascara of course!

However this mascara won't just make your lashes pretty, but also healthy as it promotes growth.

It's like a mascara and lash serum in one!

To make it we will need some castor oil, which is super effective for thickening and regrowing

the hair or lashes.

Pour it into a little pot.

Some people use plain castor oil as a clear mascara.

When you apply the oil on the lashes, they instantly look nicer and more voluminous.

But I decided to add some color and today I'm choosing black.

Make sure to use food coloring in a powder form so it can mix well with oil.

Give it a good ol' stir and our mascara is pretty much done.

Pour it into an old mascara tube or a plain one that you can get on line.

How insanely easy it was to make a legit mascara that works great but also nourishes your lashes!

Let's test it out!

Wow this looks amazing!

Super natural, but still makes a huge difference!

The mascara is so smooth and easy to apply, so pampering for the lashes.

You can even use the castor oil mascara on your eyebrows if you want to promote growth!

Although this mascara may not be tasty for you to eat, it surely is tasty and nourishing

to your lashes.

I feel like skittles are one of the most popular and beloved candies across the globe.

In my DIY experiments video I showed that the colored skittles coating melts in the

warm water.

Check it out – the water turns red.

So my guess is – since saliva is kind of like a warm water, the skittles should color

up our lips too, right?

Let's try it and find out!

To make a skittles lipstick you will need 4 skittles and some edible glue.

Apply some edible glue on the skittle and apply another little skittle on top.

We're basically building a skittle tower.

You can use just one color of skittles for your lipstick or make it rainbow-y like me.

I chose orange, blue, yellow and lastly a red one.

To finish up simply place the skittles tower into an empty lipstick container and you are done!

I love how cool this lipstick looks!

So different from the usual ones and so much more delicious.

I think it's so awesome that when the skittles are inside the tube, this literally looks

like a normal lipstick.

No one would've thought there's actually yummy skittles inside.

And this makes it perfect for pranks!

What a great DIY especially if you want to enjoy some yummy candy in a sneaky way!

Donald Trump Is Going To Tweet His Way To A Prison Sentence - Duration: 3:25.

If you ever have some time, it's kind of funny to go online and read the stories about dumb

criminals who post the videos of the crime they committed on YouTube, or they post pictures

of it on Facebook, or tweet out about it because they don't think anybody's paying attention.

They don't think that those posts are going to land them in prison.

I am pretty sure, I'm fairly confident that within the next few years, Donald Trump himself

is going to appear in one of those posts.

Donald Trump is essentially tweeting his way into prison.

This past week after it was announced that Michael Flynn had reached a plea agreement

with the special prosecutor's office, Donald Trump decided to get on Twitter and say, "Yeah.

I knew Flynn lied to the FBI and Vice President Mike Pence.

That's why I fired him."

Now, he didn't think anything of the tweet.

He didn't think it would come back to haunt him, but in fact it did.

In fact, that particular tweet has people talking obstruction of justice because if

Donald Trump knew that Michael Flynn lied to the FBI and then after that, after Flynn

was fired, was when Donald Trump went to Comey and said, "Hey, let's make this whole investigation

go away," right?

Yeah, that's obstruction of justice, because you knew your guy committed a crime, then

you asked the investigating officer to not investigate it any more.

You are in a position of power over Comey, so yes, your intent there would kind of show

that you were trying to get your buddy, Flynn, off the hook, and it's all because you tweeted

that out.

Immediately, a firestorm erupted and Donald Trump's lawyer actually said, "No, no, no,

no.

I wrote that tweet.

That was me.

That wasn't my client.

That's just silly, right?"

Well, that still doesn't mean that it wouldn't be obstruction of justice.

Donald Trump doesn't have exactly an A list legal team there, and they've proven that

at every possible opportunity.

But what's more important here is the fact that Donald Trump is his own worst enemy right

now, and that's what makes this whole thing kind of fun.

Donald Trump can't keep his mouth shut.

He doesn't know that he doesn't have to say something every time something bad goes down.

He doesn't know how to let things go.

He doesn't know how to keep his mouth shut or stay out of it, because at this point everything

that the president says, whether it's on Twitter, or at a press conference, or off the cuff

to a reporter as he's walking by, everything has come back to haunt him.

If I were the president's legal counsel, instead of saying, "Hey, no, no, no.

I'm writing his tweets," I would say, "Please stop tweeting or I'm going to quit, because

you're going to make it impossible to defend you in court," because that is what we're

headed for.

Donald Trump is again going to tweet his way into prison, and he'll likely be tweeting

Trump Junior, Jared Kushner, and Mike Pence with him along

the way.

It's just past midnight on December 1st. We're up late because I

have to work late today. BRETT: Oh shit... (things falling in background)

Brett's ruining everything.

Knocking everything down. Christmas is over.

BRETT: This wasn't secured very well. RILEY: Making excuses for the fact that he

knocked all the tinsel off the TV.

We're trying to stay up late because I

have to work late tomorrow night. So I have to work until like 2:00 a.m. so

trying to stay up so my sleep schedule adjusts a little bit. I have gifts for me

and Brett to open right at midnight because we're gonna use them throughout

the month. Would you like to open yours first? BRETT: Does it matter whose is whose?

RILEY: You actually picked the right ones so they're different. Yeah. We're watching The

Office. Michael Scott right there.

BRETT: What?? RILEY: What'd you get?

BRETT: Stars Wars! RILEY: A Star Wars advent calendar!

BRETT: Advent calendar! That's pretty cool!

RILEY: So you can open something up and build it every day in December!

Hello everybody! Happy day two of Happy Vlogidays. We're about to do our

advent calendar so I decied to bust out the vlog camera.

BRETT: I'm so pumped. I just get Legos every day? RILEY: Daily Legos!

BRETT: It throws me. It's like an I Spy.

RILEY: Don't look at the garbage. I'm covering up the garbage. BRETT: I should probably take that out.

BRETT: What do we got? Oooo it's a dude! RILEY: Oooo who is it?

BRETT: I really don't know. He looks like he's...

RILEY: He's got green hair? Is that a girl? BRETT: I dunno. Uh yeah looks like a girl actually. Maybe it's a new character?

RILEY: Maybe! She's got a blaster! BRETT: I gotta do some Lego research, or Star Wars research.

RILEY: I have a big door today.

That's exciting. Let's see. What do we got? Oh. That was deceiving.

BRETT: I know you like your calendar, but I think mine is more superior.

someone's head? Because you see how there's these tiny ones. I'm wondering if

RILEY: It doesn't fit Minnie. Disappointing! I thought I was gonna get

a big figurine but... BRETT: I tried to tell you.

RILEY: Those are my two items so far. Hopefully it'll become more exciting.

RILEY: Hair face? BRETT: There's a character back in the day from He-man. I forget what his name

was. It was like two- he can't be two face. But he basically had like a bunch of

heads. You can like, click a button and like his like faces... RILEY: OH I remember that!

BRETT: ...they would spin around. I remember that was like the freakiest thing.

RILEY: Got her blaster?

BRETT: Yeah. Throw her on whatever... this little spaceship thing I built yesterday.

RILEY: Very nice!

Yeah yours is gonna look dope at the end. Hopefully mine will too.

So last night I worked until 2:30. I didn't get home till 3:30. I didn't fall asleep

till 4 and then the dogs woke me up like every hour on the hour

essentially. By 9:30 I was like, over it. So I just got up. So RULL tired today but

we're just chilling. We just had some lunch. I got some pizza. I've been editing

a video. Brett's playing some video games and

we're just chilling. It's a very relaxing Saturday which is exactly what I need. I

think I'm going to get started on Monsters of Men. I'm buddy reading this

with Michael and I also need to read a couple pages of The Shining today. So I'm

gonna have a nice chill day. BRETT: HEEERE'S JOHNNY

RILEY: (laughs) I'm only like 30 pages into it I'm

already loving it. BRETT: Really?

RILEY: Yeah. BRETT: Ugh. Too scary for me.

RILEY: I've heard it's the scariest book of all time so

BRETT: There's an awesome Simpsons parody of it. I think it's one of the Halloween special ones. Simpsons prime.

I'm just out getting some

coffee right now because in about 25 minutes

Brett, his sister Danielle, and I are going to be heading out

towards Boston to go to a surprise birthday party. It is his niece's birthday

today. Sophia is turning five which is crazy.

I've known Sophia since she was born basically. Brett and I started

dating like right after she was born which was really funny. So I've seen her

grow up which is - so it's like so crazy that she's five.

It was also recently his cousin's birthday. So we're having a surprise

birthday party for them. So we need to head out towards Boston very soon. So

soon as Danielle gets to the house we're going to all pile in my car and head out to Boston.

That's what we're gonna be up to today. I'm not sure how long that will be

probably a few hours but should be fun to see everybody and hang out.

it back from Brett's cousin's house and now we're gonna open our calendars. I

feel like this whole vlog is just going to be us opening our calendars.

BRETT: That's the best part!

RILEY: You're building something. BRETT: I'm building something.

We've been out and about all day just hanging out with Brett's fam, so now we're

just settling down. I'm gonna read more Monsters of Men. Yesterday I got to page

121. So I'm gonna try and get to page 242 Right now I'm on 136. I read a little bit this morning.

There's lots of action in this book so I think it's gonna go quickly and so I'm

going to read until I can't read no mo'.

BRETT: Getting caught building my Legos. RILEY: We have extra pieces!

BRETT: No, do we? RILEY: YEAH!

Good morning. I'm just getting to work now. It's about

7:30. I left the house around 6:30 and I have a meeting at 8 a.m. this morning

that I couldn't be late for so I just made a really big effort to be here

early but I was up before the Sun. Got to see the Sun Rise on my commute here

which is always nice. Sometimes my job just calls for a weird hours. You saw me

working until 2:30 on Friday and now I'm here at 7:30 on Monday.

Life of an event planner. My main focus for work this week is getting an event

prepped for next week. We have one of our like big signature events next week. It's

called No Study Zone. I feel like I've talked about this in happy vlogidays

past but it's our fall end-of-semester de-stress event for our students and

it's basically just kind of like an indoor carnival. It's a lot of fun.

It's next Tuesday which is their last day of class. I'm planning to do some

shopping for it today and I just will be probably talking about No Study Zone a

lot in the next few days so get excited. Anyway I'm gonna head into the office

get settled and get ready for my 8:00 a.m. meeting and I will check back in

with you guys when I get home tonight.

Calendar time! I just got home. I left for work in the dark this morning

and I came home in the dark. BRETT: I know, that's the worst.

RILEY: What do you got today? Building something else?

BRETT: Yeah it looks like some sorta. It looks like a blaster. A gun that goes on like a turret.

RILEY: I wonder if you are getting a bunch of stuff that you can like connect together

BRETT: Well that's the good thing about Legos with your imagination you can build whatever you want.

Mine always ends up looking messed up.

Oh it's the tiniest little one! Oh it's the white cat from Aristocats. What's her name?

I don't remember her name. I'm really bad at Disney guys.

cat in the comments. You'll get my respect. She's sparkly. Cute! Putting

her in the star from day two getting some more characters! How's yours coming

I ordered these like two weeks ago so they're finally here!

Book Depository - notorious for taking forever with their shipping. First book is

All That She Can See by Carrie Hope Fletcher. This is her newest book and

I've actually been hearing some really positive reviews on this one. I really

like her YouTube videos so hopefully I like this as well. I then have Warcross

by Marie Lu. Again have been hearing some positive things about this one. This is

very similar - it's being related to Ready Player One by think it's only

related to Ready Player One because they're in a video game. So I don't know

if the plot is anywhere near the same other than the setting and then finally

I got this edition of History is All You Left Me. I've been really liking Adam

Silvera's work. I've read More Happy Than Not and They Both Die at the End this

year and liked them both so looking forward reading this one as well. I'm just

getting ready for work if you can't tell from my wet hair and I want to chat

with you guys because I have so many pairs of Christmas socks. I always get

Christmas socks on Christmas Day and I'm like not the kind of person where I

enjoy Christmas all year round. I usually get these in my stocking or something

like that and and I'm just like I either wear them today or don't wear them for a

whole year and I like kind of forgot that I have like a build up of Christmas

socks. So I thought I'd start wearing my Christmas socks

since we're in Christmas season. I think I'm gonna go with these ones today

these ones are my favorite ones. Brett got them for me a couple years ago and I

wanted to show them to you. They say meowy Christmas with a little grumpy cat

on there. I think they're so cute and they're actually really comfortable. I

like these socks a lot. But yes it's Wednesday. It's.... no it's not even Wednesday.

What a sad realization. It's Tuesday. It's actually my mom's birthday today so

Happy Birthday to my mom. I sent her a little gift and she opened it already

this morning. So I'll give her a call later today and wish her a happy birthday. So I

made a few book orders over Black Friday and by a few I mean a lot. But a lot of

them came in today - the last few that I was expecting - and it's raining out today

and the delivery man decided be a great idea to just leave the books out in the

rain even though there's an entryway He have could just put them into the

entryway. These are the boxes that they came in.

Like this one's fine. There is no rain damaged. this one is completely soaked

through. Like it fell apart when I opened it. Like look how malleable it is. It's

just like all the way soaked through. Come on delivery people you can do better than that.

I was just showing my boxes. BRETT: Not a good thing. Jeanne gave us bread!

RILEY: Bread! So I'm gonna be doing a book haul that you'll see next week but I wanted

to give you a little preview and if you can guess any of these books by the

outside of their you know pages then you'll be able to know what I got. Here

are the outsides. Can you guess any of them? That's all you

get! I will open my Book of the Month Box for

you though right now. I got my December box in today along with all of those

books and you'll see all of these in a haul but I'll just unbox my book of the

month box for you. "Cue the happy dance! Book meals best mail, don't you think?" I do think!

It's all tied up here with a nice little shrink wrap. I think Book of the Month does

a great job of their packaging. The first book is Eleanor Oliphant is Completely

fine. I've been hearing lots of great things about this one so I'm looking

forward to this. This was my pick for Book of the Month this month. I then picked

The Chalk Man by CJ Tudor. This is a thriller and it sounded really interesting. So

wanted to get my hands on that one. This was also a choice for December. Looking

forward to that. I don't think this comes out until January which is cool. Not that

I'll have time to read it before it releases but it's cool to have. And then I picked

up one of their back log books which I do every month what I got The Animators

by Kayla Rae Whittaker which I'm very excited for. So those are my books of the month

for December. Stay tuned for my book haul that will come out next week to see

Good morning! It's Wednesday. I'm just getting to work and man I am so freakin'

tired. The last two days have been such a struggle to get my butt out of bed and

before I have to leave and I think it's just cuz it's like the darkest days of

the year for us right now. So it's just dark all the time, so I'm tired all the

time. So fun. I wanted to let you know that I'll probably plan on finishing Monsters

of Men today. I have about 120 pages left. So I can probably get this done today.

That's the goal. So I'll read some of that on my lunch break and then after

work I'm going to go to the gym even though all I want to do is go to sleep

but I need to exercise. I try to do like an every other day schedule during the

workweek if I can help it. So I didn't work out yesterday so I'll work out

today and so I'll do that after work and then I'll head home. This week seems

never-ending. Good news is: Are You the One season finale is tonight. I cannot wait.

Christmas socks for the day! Morning everybody.

It's Thursday and this is the last day for this vlog. I'm really tired. This is

where the holidays are very tricky for me because I am very introverted.

Holidays are all plans all the time and then on top of that like still having a

regular schedule at work and everything so during the holidays I do get really

tired. It gets continually harder for me to

like put on a happy face. I do like the holidays. I like the idea of the holidays

and I like you know the decorations and like the food and - but like constantly always

spending time with like, people that I like to spend time with, don't get me

wrong, but just not ever getting a breather to just relax and like be in my

own little alone time bubble at home definitely takes a toll on me

and it's already happening and I feel like it's because I kicked it off with a

late night that I had to work and then we had you know we've already had a

family party. Tonight my work is having their Christmas party and Saturday we

have a friend's Christmas party. So it's just like already making me feel

overwhelmed. I'm just gonna try and take it easy and push through and not exert

too much energy because the next week we have more Christmas parties that we have

to do and I have a huge work event and... yeah. This is where the holidays get

tricky for me. Today like I said I'm going to work and then I

have a work party. So I need to stop on the way to work to like, pick up a dessert or

something. I would usually make something but our oven is broken so I can't really

bake anything or make anything too extravagant. As a reading update I did

finish Monsters of Men last night which I will review for you at the end of this

vlog. I'm still working through The Shining which I'll be working through

for the majority of this month and then today I'm also gonna start

Slaughterhouse-Five. In order for me to finish this in the timeline that I

want to I need to read 91 pages a day so I'll shoot read 91 pages. I do have

like a little bit of time between work and work party and so I'll probably do a

lot of reading then. I'm excited to get to another Kurt Vonnegut. I haven't

read Kurt Vonnegut since last summer and I really liked Galapagos. So

hopefully I like this one too. I hate you Winter!

Ended up getting these cheesecake thins which look like little cheesecake cookies.

I was really craving cheesecake this morning so figured that would probably be a fun

thing to do. A little bit better than a full cheesecake and people can take as many as they want.

Grocery trip all set. I'm gonna go grab some coffee and then drive to work. Here

is my day seven Tsum Tsum. It's Figaro the cat from Pinocchio. Super cute and very

sparkly. So it's about ten forty seven on day seven of happy vlogidays and I

actually ended up not having a work Christmas party tonight. Something came

up with one of our events that we had to make sure that somebody was staffing and

we didn't want to have a party without the whole staff there. So we are postponing

it I think. I'm not really sure what the plan is but I am kind of happy that we

didn't have the party tonight because I have what I like to call a "bad brain day".

Basically any day that my mental health is not in a good state, bad brain day, and

so today was one of those days. Especially when I got home this evening.

I was just relaxing, laying in bed watching The Office, watching stupid

videos on my phone and just trying to be really nice to myself so that's what I'm

doing it currently. I'll probably end up going to sleep sometime soon here but

it's been one of those days and I have them occasionally. They're never fun

but it's kind of a blessing in disguise that we didn't have the party tonight so I

could actually relax a little bit. Anyway I'm about to wrap up this vlog but

before I do I wanted to wrap up my reading for this week. I finished one

book that is Monsters of Men by Patrick Ness. This is the third and final book in

the Chaos Walking trilogy. Because it's a finale I can't really say too much about

the plot but this is very much so the climax of the series. There's a big war

and there's constant action in this book which is great. It picks up right where

The Ask and the Answer left off and it's just action the whole time. So I

really enjoyed this book. It really discusses like, kind of the effects on

war on people and just on society and I know Michael has said this, and I totally

agree with him, I was buddy reading this with him and he said that this book

doesn't make you root for one certain side or another. It's very much so

everybody is flawed, everybody is bad, and good, and so

BRETT: (from the next room) OH SHIT! RILEY: (laughs)

and so it's just like a

really interesting study on how people kind of act when they're in war and

how it impacts everybody. So I thought it was really good. This is probably the

best book out of the series. I would say the series just improves as it goes on.

So if you don't like the first book, I would say stick with it. At least try and

get to book 3 if you can because I think this is the best book out of the three.

I'm gonna give it four out of five stars and I'm very happy that I stuck with

this series. So now the series is complete and I'm really happy with the

way it ended. I've also started Slaughterhouse-Five today. I'm about 45

pages into it. I might read a little bit more before bed but again I'm just

trying to be really nice to myself and then I'm also about 150 pages into The

Shining which I'm a little bit behind from where I want to be but I'm really

loving The Shining and I cannot wait to read more of it. So that's gonna do it

The Yankees are about to unite the only two players to better 50 home runs last year. They have an agreement in principle to acquire Giancarlo Stanton from the Marlins to put him in the same lineup and outfield with Aaron Judge.

A source told The Post that Starlin Castro and prospects, though not top ones, make up most of the return.

Neither team had announced a deal as of early Saturday morning, possibly because a physical review was still needed and that would not be a rubber stamp with Stanton, who has had injury problems throughout his career.

The Cardinals and Giants, who had presented the Marlins with frameworks of a deal for Stanton, bowed out of the race Friday, citing the fact Stanton had invoked his no-trade clause when it came to being dealt to St.

Louis or San Francisco. Stanton listed the Yankees, his hometown Dodgers and the Astros as teams to which he would accept a trade, perhaps the Cubs as well.

But once the Cardinals and Giants – the teams with the greatest need for Stanton and, thus, what had been the strongest pursuit, was out of the way, the Yankees had a clearer rode to Stanton.

He is owed $295 million over the next 10 years and Derek Jeter and Bruce Sherman bought a Miami franchise $400 million in debt.

The quickest, best way for them to begin to get toward long-term financial balance was to move as much of Stanton's contract as possible.

The Yankees were not prioritizing an outfielder or righty power. But once the competition mainly fell away and the price also fell to where it was acceptable, the Yankees felt they could not ignore a star such as Stanton.

The key issue for the Yankees was that the Marlins take either salaried veterans and/or a portion of Stanton's remaining contract so they can stick to their vow to stay under the $197 million luxury tax in 2018.

Stanton counts as $25 million toward the tax and Castro, at $8.6 million toward the tax, would defray a piece of it.

What was not publicly known yet is whether there is another veteran such as Chase Headley and/or how much the Marlins are eating to make it palatable for the Yankees to do a deal.

After all, the Yankees' main offseason target is to acquire one, perhaps two starting pitchers while staying under the threshold and nothing has changed.

Well, actually so much as changed. Ten days ago, the Yankees were viewed as the favorites for Shohei Ohtani and not really in on Stanton.

On Friday, Ohtani signed with the Angels and the Stanton to the Yankees deal became "virtually done" in the words of a source briefed on the matter.

Stanton led the majors in homers with 59 and was the NL MVP, while Judge was the runner-up for AL MVP. That duo plus Gary Sanchez would give the Yankees the most righty power it is history.

The Yankees likely would rotate Stanton and Judge plus Brett Gardner and Aaron Hicks in the outfield and DH slot.

Stanton also would probably have a positive impact on Yankees ticket sales and TV ratings, which was another reason to push for him once the price dropped to a level with which the Yankees were comfortable.
