Youtube daily report Dec 9 2017

Good morning good morning.

Good morning guys.

Today we are heading on a day trip.

How exciting.

Yes.

So we've been based in Pula for a little while.

Yep.

And today we are going to Rovinj (Rovigno).

It is only like 30 or 40 minutes away by bus.

Yeah.

So it is going to make for an awesome day trip.

We've basically scheduled the whole day in Rovinj.

We are leaving in the morning and we're probably going to come back after sunset.

Yeah, so we're just walking over to the bus terminal right now.

Yep.

We'll get our tickets and we'll be on our way.

Okay so we are here at the station waiting for our bus.

We just got our tickets and it was 36 Kuna per person which is about 5 US dollars and

60 cents.

That is only one way so not so bad.

It is low season so the buses aren't quite as frequently as they would be during the

summer months but yeah we should be on our way soon.

Okay, so we are here.

Rovinj (Rovigno).

Yeah.

So we've arrived guys and it should come as no surprise that we're hungry so that is our

first priority.

I think we're going to have kind of like a breakfast.

We're going to try and find a cafe.

Yeah, I skipped breakfast.

There was no time for breakfast.

Yeah, we did leave pretty early.

So I'm probably going to find myself a cappuccino.

Oh, and we're just going to chill for a bit.

The weather is a little iffy at the moment.

We've got some white skies.

Tada.

Yeah, we've got some white skies but I do see it breaking a bit off in the clouds so

hopefully we'll kill a bit of time and by the time we're finished breakfast it should

be nice for filming.

So here we are walking through the old town.

We've got some beautiful colors, wooden shutters and it actually reminds me a lot of when we

visited Bergamo in Italy.

Just kind of has that vibe.

Except it is by the sea and we can smell the sea breeze.

Alright guys so we finally found a place where to eat and to most importantly warm up.

We walked into the it is called the Hotel Adriatic and they have a little cafe like

right out front.

Um, so we got some cake, some croissant, cappuccinos.

They didn't really have a breakfast menu.

I was hoping for poached eggs or something a little bit hearty but coffee and cake that

is what it is going to be.

After eating breakfast, we decided to do a little bit of exploring along the waterfront.

We walked the full length of the marina stopping to take photos of the brightly painted buildings

with matching window shutters, plus rows and rows of boats.

Then once we reached the end, we were treated to these postcard-perfect shots of Rovinj

from a distance.

A fun fact about Rovinj: though it's now connected to the mainland, this once used

to be an island.

It was connected in 1763 as part of a land reclamation project under the Venetian Empire,

which also explains why certain parts of the city may remind you of Venice.

So basically we've just been continuing our wandering.

We've kind of stuck to the perimeter of the waterfront.

And it has been really cool.

Like we're not visiting on a weekend so it has been really quiet.

Yeah.

And there has been certain sections like when we go down little alleys.

They are empty.

We kind of have it to ourselves which is awesome.

So favorite thing about Rovinj (Rovigno) so far I would say these tiny little narrow little

alleys.

And it is kind of cool because a lot of the buildings are four or five stories high.

So you just feel like yeah I don't know like you are in a maze almost.

Yeah, you feel like you're in a maze and you have to constantly be looking up to see what

is going on because like laundry it is really cool.

Or cool shutters.

I have this weird obsession with laundry and I'm just going around and filming everyone's

laundry.

Creepster.

Yeah, I'm being a little creepy to be honest.

After wandering around for a few hours, it was finally time for lunch, so we returned

to the waterfront looking for a seaside restaurant.

So we finally settled on a place for lunch.

We are eating at Stella di Mare right on the water.

It is beautiful.

We've already ordered glasses of red wine as you do.

And yeah, we're having some dishes with seafood so it should be really nice.

Also, there are a whole bunch of cats hanging around here.

I think they are like waiting for some fish or shrimps to like fall off the table.

They sure are.

So we may feed them a little bit.

They are very opportunistic cats but they are still cute.

Audrey had the shrimp risotto, I had shrimp pizza, and yes, we both shared with the cats,

who had learned to swat if you approached empty-handed.

It wants fish not pets.

It is like no.

No!

Give me the food.

Give me the food.

I don't want the pets.

Ha.

Alright.

Time for a little shopping.

Still digesting lunch but yeah oh man we're kind of like pradeling along.

Pradeling along.

Anyways, we're visiting the main open market here and the main thing you can buy at this

market is truffles.

Truffles.

There is all kinds of different truffle products.

Yeah, I mean you can find a little bit of produce.

Yep.

But the main thing is like rows.

That is the main thing.

Rows of truffles.

By far.

So if you want a little souvenir this is the place.

Yeah, something to eat before you get home.

Something for the kitchen.

Right over there.

Truffles.

Okay, so when we first arrived in Rovinj I was telling either Sam or maybe I was telling

the camera that it reminded me of Italy of Bergamo but now that we're by the water and

we've got these buildings behind us it makes me think of Venice even though I've never

been to Venice.

Well it is not far from Venice.

I mean yeah that is true.

Yeah because this used to be part of the Venetian Empire.

Right.

Yeah so it definitely has an Italian vibe.

It sure does and I'm finding that the more we walk around it is kind of the quieter areas

that I'm really appreciating.

Yeah.

Like the back alleys and some of these homes as opposed to businesses.

Yeah this would be a very cool place to live I have to say.

It is a wonderful place to get lost as a tourist.

It is.

That is for sure.

Yeah, that has been our favorite thing to do today I think.

Just getting lost in these back alleys.

It is just been so much fun just wandering around without too much of an agenda to be

honest.

Right what is the plan next.

So the plan is to make the trek up to Saint Euphemia's and along the way according to

our research we should pass by some artist markets so we'll film that a little bit as

well.

Let's do it.

Atop the hill, we reached St. Euphemia's Church.

If you're feeling particularly brave, you can even try climbing the bell tower's infamous

creaking wooden steps.

Such are the steps' reputation, that there's even a bulletin board inside the church with

photos of what to expect.

We didn't make it to the top, thought I was happy to settle for terrace views.

Later that afternoon, the skies finally cleared, so we enjoyed another walk along the harbour

as well as a gelato stop along the way.

We are getting gelato.

Gelato.

Oh.

Alright guys it didn't take us very long to find some ice cream.

There was like 3 or 4 places that looked amazing so we just settled on the one near the end

of the waterfront that we've been walking along.

What is the place called?

Bella something.

Yeah, oh it is right there.

Porto Bello.

Portobello.

So I got peanut and also caramel flavor and what did you have?

I went for melon and strawberry.

I like fruity gelatos.

And the sun is coming out so it is melting fast so we're just going to eat it now.

Okay, so we are finishing up the day here watching the sunset.

We found a little bar slash restaurant called Puntulina and it has got a great spot we have

to order food but we've eaten so much and we just had ice cream so we just grabbed one

of their seaside mats.

Haha.

And we're going to have a drink.

And there comes your tea.

Thank you.

And your tea has arrived.

Yeah look at that.

I'm cold so I went with tea.

Sam is actually having beer.

Alright guys it has been a nice day but it is also been a very very long day.

Yeah.

So we are back at the bus terminal waiting to catch our bus to Pula in about 30 minutes.

And right now it is six thirty.

We are catching the bus at seven and we'll arrive back at Pula in 45 minutes.

At Seven forty five.

So what's the verdict on Rovinj (Rovigno)?

You can definitely explore the town in one day, but if you have a few days to spare,

this would make an even better base to explore the rest of Istrian Peninsula.

The Gift-Giving Rant - Duration: 11:03.

Hey guys, Culture here.

The holiday season is well and truly upon us now, and we have so much to be thankful

for.

Friends, family and free-time abound, giving us an opportunity to take it easy and relax.

Or at least that's what it should mean.

Instead, I constantly find myself in a panic as to what gifts to get for my nearest and

dearest… and Crash.

My mind boggles at the amount of factors to consider when buying presents like price,

equality of gifts, personalisation and logistics.

But before I delve too deeply into that, let me first explain the twisted commercialisation

and religious deprecacy that got us into the cult of gift-giving in the first place.

When you ask why we give and receive gifts on Christmas, the official line is that it

calls back to when the three wise men gave gifts to the baby Jesus.

You know the story: The first brought Frankincense, a perfume used in Jewish worship and a symbol

that we would similarly worship Jesus.

The next brought Gold, the material of kings to signify Jesus as the king of all kings.

And finally the last brought Myrrh, a perfume put on dead bodies to make them smell nice.

You may quite rightly ask "What the frick?"

Yes, apparently Myrrh signifies that Jesus would grow up to suffer and die.

It's a little bit like if I brought a foreclosure sign to your house-warming party.

What a bummer that third wise man must have been during the whole trip following the North

Star - constantly complaining of callouses created on his horrifically hampered haunches.

But we overlook this tasteless gift when we recall the nativity scene and the supposed

miracle that was the birth of Christ.

We instead remember how gifts exemplified the happiness felt by the three wise men for

the birth of their leader.

Of course this is a convenient answer: Mention Jesus and everyone hushes up and accepts that

we must abide by these rules.

But the reality is a little more complicated – Isn't it always?

Winter festival gift-giving actually began during the Roman festival of Saturnalia.

The Romans believed that giving gifts would bring them luck in the New Year.

So essentially, they gave gifts for selfish reasons - a tradition that some say continues

to this day.

These gifts were also quite humble, like candles, fruits and nuts; nothing like the dazzling

diamonds and digital devices of today's benevolent boon bazaar.

Perhaps most underwhelming of these gifts were lanterns to which a piece of holly had

been tied.

I mean come on, that's like if I gave you a torch with a gum leaf tied to it.

But apparently I'm just not wise enough to see that the lantern symbolises the light

that comes following the winter equinox.

I guess this is one of those "it's the thought that counts" moments.

Seriously though can you imagine being like "Jeremy, you got me... a pack of double

A batteries."

And Jeremy is like "My gift signifies the energy with which you will tackle the New

Year."

I'd just be like "Yeah okay but they're uh… they're still batteries, right?"

But I digress.

In the 4th century when Christians decided to start celebrating the birth of their lord

and saviour, there was a movement to adopt the gift-giving tradition of the now-fading

Saturnalia.

However this was opposed by those who wished to cut all ties to Pagan holidays and thus

the notion of exchanging Saturnalia paraphernalia was lost.

That is, until the Victorian era of the 1800's when the gift-giving of New Year's celebrations

merged with that of the Christmas holiday.

It was at this time that people started saying "Oh yeah, it's coz of you know, the wise

men and stuff… it's totally not coz I want that shiny new penny farthing for absolutely

nothing."

Tie this in with the increased production of shoddily-made plastic toys and you get

a recipe for the current climate of sycophantic sack-stuffing.

But gift-giving doesn't just occur at Christmas of course, and it existed outside of winter

solstices as well.

Throughout Egyptian, Roman and Medieval times gifts were given to earn favour, as a token

of good luck or as idols demonstrating worship.

Native American cultures have a "potlatch", a kind of gift-giving feast around births

or funerals.

In this custom, the family's pride and reputation is demonstrated by how extravagant their gift

is.

It's nice to know that even in the face of death humans have still found a way to

make it all a dick-measuring contest.

A more wholesome notion of gift-giving comes from the ancient Greeks.

"Xenia" was essentially their form of hospitality, and suggested that providing

strangers with shelter and gifts would create social order.

Of course the Eastern philosophical notion of Karma springs to mind: That the moral standing

of the actions you take determines your fate.

In this way, the giving of good gifts with careful consideration may lead to you yourself

receiving good gifts.

Whichever of these approaches you take to gift-giving, there appears to be an inherent

truth: We give gifts because we expect something in return.

The Native Americans wanted reputation, the Greeks wanted safety or order and the medieval

empires wanted to curry favour with neighbouring factions and form alliances.

But the opinion I've just presented would be, in modern times, considered blasphemy.

Look at any ad nowadays, any Hallmark slogan or any morning news show segment and you'll

be told that we give gifts not because we expect anything in return but instead as a

symbol of our love.

We're told that gift-giving allows us to show our affection for others and demonstrate

how much they mean to us.

To this I say: Bullshit.

Firstly, why do we need these material goods to represent affection?

Why should a larger engagement ring mean more love?

Similarly, why should more or better toys in a kid's Christmas stocking mean more

love?

The argument goes that the amount of money you spend is thought to be proportional to

the amount of love you have for the recipient of the gift.

And sure, I guess this could be true.

But from an altruistic perspective surely we shouldn't be worrying about this financial

middle-man.

That is to say, let's look past the crass commercialisation that constitutes capitalism

and instead find a selfless way to show affection.

Monetary value does not translate directly into love; just ask any sugar daddy or gold

digger… or Mariah Carey for that matter.

Secondly, of course we give gifts because we expect something in return.

Especially on occasions such as Christmas, Valentine's Day and birthdays.

The entire purpose of these holidays in western culture is primarily to provide the space

for reciprocity in exchanging goods and only secondarily to celebrate another notion such

as family, love or individuality respectively.

That's not to say that I disagree with these ideas, I think they're all things that should

be celebrated.

But these holidays are advertised in such a way that you have to give gifts.

You'll hear things like "Tell your family you love them, spend quality time with them,

let them know you care.

And what better way to say this than with the Rolex Yacht Master, only 14,050 dollars."

And no I'm not kidding, there's actually a model of Rolex called the Yacht Master.

I mean seriously, at that point just hang a sign around your neck that says "I'm

a massive wanker".

On the topic of Valentine's Day as an example: Some people decry Valentine's Day by saying

that we should love our partners all year round, not just on one day.

I wouldn't go that far: Personally I believe the point of Valentine's Day is that we

all have busy lives and this gives us an excuse to put aside some special time and devote

it solely to our partner.

Of course we should also love them the rest of the year, but Valentine's Day is a special

occasion.

However I do not think that means we should spend exorbitant amounts on cards, flowers

and fancy dinners every year.

Feel free to if you want, but don't have a systemised advertising campaign telling

me I have to otherwise I don't love my partner enough.

Now of course no one actually believes that when they put rational thought into the topic

but on a subconscious, ingrained level we have been indoctrinated through years of this

message to believe that this is the case.

Whether you prefer a cosy night in cooking something with your partner or a night out

at a restaurant, my entire point is that you and your partner should decide how you want

to spend that time.

Besides you know a cheap way to celebrate Valentine's Day?

Just bang all night.

Alright, alright, settle down, enough about that.

Sex is icky.

All I'm saying is that an inherent part of holidays, Christmas especially, is reciprocity.

And not only do we expect reciprocity, we then complicate the issue further with needing

equivalent, personalised reciprocity.

The logic behind this is pretty straight-forward: You don't want the value of the gift you

give and the gift you receive to be egregiously different because then either you or the other

person is getting screwed over.

And if you think I'm thinking too hard about this, let me tell you: There are two types

of people in this world - People who admit they worry about the values of the gift they're

giving, and liars.

On the very same merit promoted by ad agencies, we want to live up to a certain societal standard

of equivalent exchange.

This has been the subject of sitcoms for many years because of how uniquely awkward it is

to try and match someone else whilst also hiding the identity of the gifts you're

giving each other.

It's essentially mind reading.

Contemporary society expects us to mind read about 4 times every year to buy people gifts.

It's ridiculous.

But that's unfair; the entire point of this act is to test how well we know the people

we love.

So it's not mind reading, it's more like a test.

And what says "love and affection" better than an exam, am I right?

The issue with this is it creates a neurotic hysteria of self-doubt.

Why do you think people are so stressed around Christmas?

Well actually there are a lot of reasons for that.

People realise they didn't achieve what they wanted to that year, families pressuring

their own values onto each other which creates life goal stress, travel between cities and

countries, organising family get-togethers… but unfortunately we don't have time to

worry about all of that today.

Let's just focus on one factor that we have to deal with in the midst of the rest of these

stressors: Gift-giving.

Don't even get me started on shopping centres.

Around Christmas time the Hyperdome becomes the Thunderdome, people elbowing others out

of their way for last-minute shopping or post-holiday bargains.

But most of the time the stress comes from expectations that we feel we have to fulfil.

We flit fervently and with fevered ferocity from store to store trying to find the elusive

"perfect gift" that only really exists in the wet dreams of a billionaire mall owner

like Rick Caruso.

But this is distracting us: It's not about some holy grail of gifts; it truly is the

thought that counts.

As much as I ripped on that saying before, the purpose of the saying is that we shouldn't

aim for material goods to represent our emotions.

My new philosophy on gift-giving, where possible, is to get something which is emotionally grounded.

Frame a picture of you and your siblings for your Mum to keep or make plans to spend time

with a friend by going on a trip together.

But most importantly of all: Try not to care so much about the gift-giving aspect of a

holiday like Christmas.

Relax, chat with people about trivial nonsense to keep it light-hearted and keep the gift

buying simple.

Or, failing that, just go to Myer and get a personalised jar of Nutella.

Thanks for listening to my asinine rant!

If something about the gift-giving season agitates you enough to get you typing, then

feel free to vent in the comments section below!

여성이라면 꼭 알았으면 하는 유용한 것들! (성범죄, 여성건강, 피부건강) what I want to recommend: app and food - Duration: 7:59.

today I want to share some useful items that I want to recommend for females!

these are not exclusive for females but I thought these can be more helpful to know if you are a female.

80% of my channel subscribers are females so I thought this video would be helpful!

let's go!

the first item is a mobile app, it's called '성범죄자 알림e'

you can find sex criminals' personal information following court's decision.

there are two main features in this mobile app.

you can find information on the following standard: city and county.

I was shocked to find out how many sex criminals were living in my county.

you can also search sex crimial information near schools

the second feature is location alert function.

if you set an alert, you can get push alarms from the app that notice you sex criminal information living nearby.

you can set alarms on several time options.

this can give you an alert when you go to a new place.

however, this app does not protect you from sex crimes, right?

you may be careful when you get this alarm, but you can't avoid intended criminals all the time.

despite this, I want to recommend this app to all females in south korea.

sex crime is an important issue in korean society and people always say they should reveal criminals' imformation. however, not all people are actually engaged in improving related laws and precautions.

in my opinion, using this app and conversation for possible improvements can be a way to participate.

I think it was a good experience for me to use this app, and I thought I want to participate to solve realated issues.

you may think using this app is useless for you

and sex crime is a serious issue for all people these days.

I think females can gather and engage more to solve this issue. it doesn't have to be a big act. let's start step by step.

next I want to show food!

I recommend this to expecially females.

first item is collagen.

I showed vital beauty product last time .. it was metagreen!

it's a collagen ampoule.

it absorbs into your skin and help recovering your skin.

I have this everynight before going to bed.

I've having this for 3 months and I feel this is a great product for females.

this can help skin more firm and refined.

this product also contains protains that help relieving stress.

the reason why I recommend this to females!

female skin is relatively lack of collagen compared to male skin because of hormones.

collagen also decreases as you age so it's great to take supplements

7 ways to wear a long padded jacket in a unique way (ENG CC) - Duration: 7:49.

Hi guys

It's Kyung-Ah from Ryu's Penna

Today, I'm going to show you unique ways to wear a long padded jacket

If you think of the reason of the trend first,

Is because it's really warm

It's the biggest to me

But, if you walk the streets, there are so many same jackets

So, you might want to look different than them

If you do, you must watch this

I'll show you 7 ways

Think about it

If you zip it up to the end, only two parts get showed

The top and bottom, doesn't it?

So, I'll show effective ways to fashionize the top and bottom part of the look

Shall we start?

First is a bold earring

Like the one I'm wearing

Big and fancy earrings give points on the top part, for sure

Especially, since these jackets' colors are most monotone

These accessories give light

And if this is to much for you

This kind of street style, black earring with lettering points are also good

Or

Ring style earrings are easy to give points these days

Also, try to match to your taste

For example

This kind of kitsch style earring gives a cute mood

These can make a cute look easily with padded jackets

This kind of long design is also nice

Actually, long padded jackets go easily with any look you wear usually

So, you have to strike points on the top and bottom

So, the second one!

Somebody might have expected this

It's

Ta da~

A cap!

The one I really recommend is a beret cap

Just one beret with patterns give a strong point

I'll try it on now

Doesn't the top side point get's alive with just this?

And if you wear bold earrings with this

The top point really gets strong

But, if you think it's too strong

This kind of velvet hat will give a smooth point

Velvet is on trend these days, also

And it's not too much

And if it's black, it gets more easy

Additionally, caps!

When you match caps, lettering points like this or

Colorful ones like this will be nice

You can make unique looks with these kinds of caps also!

And next is third,

The third one is a belt

Somebody might be suspicious to my words

But if you go shopping, there are many padded jackets with belts

They are just installed originally

Our long padded jackets just don't have them as a set

So, let's do it ourselves

If you match a belt on, and match your tastes

You can look like a fashion star, even wearing a long padded jacket

If you want a strong point, you can wear bold and colorful belts

If you want smooth points, just match the jacket color with the belt

Forth

The forth is rolling up jeans

Many people wear jeans with long padded jackets

But, people who give points by rolling up are few

I've met only a few people around me

Doesn't showing only jeans look boring?

So, if you roll up, you can give a point

Fifht

Fifth will go well with the roll up

It's socks points

Tada

You can wear socks with lettering points

Or a more general way is

One with pictures on the ankle

And for me

I like this kind of see-through sooks

But with rolled up jeans

The first two socks would be better

Sock points are good even

On basic shoes, they give a point

A really slight and smooth point

There are many pretty socks these days

And they're cheap

It's the cheapest way to give points

Next is the sixth

It's the long skirt

It's the way of giving points on the bottom of the long skirts

So, if the skirt has tassels

Or if it's colorful or fancy, it'll be better

The last one!

Seventh is

Tada~

Pretty shoes!

You know ankle boots are in trend

So, they come out in very many pretty designs

This is a Satan red color ankle boots, I bought for Christmas

Isn't it pretty?

This can boom!

If you wear it beneath a long padded jacket

I think it'll must be pretty

Not only ankle boots

But, cute sneakers

Or colorful sneakers will also give a cute point

So, I highly recommend giving points with pretty shoes

Well guys, I tried to let you now how to look unique with a long padded jacket

In 7 ways

Some are basic

And some might look difficult

But, please believe me that they're good looks

You can't just wrap it all up, and look like a bum for the whole winter

Long padded jackets are very common

And even if I'm wearing it!

Don't you want to look unique always?

So, I hope you'll use these ways and look unique alwayss

This is the end to this clip

If it was fun or useful

Click the like and subscribe please

See ya in the next clip

Bye~

What Danganronpa V3 Did Wrong - Duration: 10:01.

*sigh*

So I'm assuming if you're watching this video you're expecting me to be talking

primarily about the ending.

Well, if you thought that, you're right.

But I'm not going to just jump in, because it's complicated.

You know, Danganronpa is a series I liked.

The first two games were really fun, the anime finale was flawed but still good, and the

series had so much supplemental material that there was always something else for fans to

consume.

It was a well sustained franchise.

But after the finale and my dude Makoto becoming headmaster, the next game in the series was

confirmed to be a new story.

Cool!

I'm glad that they're trying to do something new with the series.

But it soon went all wrong.

So if you don't know the twist and don't care about it being spoiled, this game's

gimmick is that nothing is actually going on.

What is actually happening is what we assume to be a reality TV show or some shit and nothing

ever really happened.

I'll explain why that didn't work later, but right now I have to talk about the prologue

and how it foreshadowed the ending.

So the game starts, and the first thing we see is a montage of all the Danganronpas so

far.

It turns out to be foreshadowing for something new, and I'll be fair and say it was clever. But

then they say "this story is not over".

"A new killing game will begin again".

Oh, so I guess the canon isn't over.

M-maybe they changed their mind.

Maybe it's in the same canon, just separated from the Hope's Peak Arc.

That's what they treated the story like for most of the game.

Thinking about how openly admitting to the twist Danganronpa V3 was in its prologue does

make me feel kind of stupid.

The "this story isn't over" schtick was supposed to be the team Danganronpa saying

that they were going to go with another season of the show.

I just assumed at first Team Danganronpa was just something that they formed during development

similar to Sonic Team.

So I was feeling good, even though the game was literally telling me that it was all fictional

and the story wasn't actually happening.

But I then remember that this is nothing new.

Danganronpa often breaks the fourth wall.

I just assumed that's what was going on.

You know, a bit of trippy shit to tease the player.

Danganronpa 2 loved doing this.

I wasn't being dumb when I didn't assume it was all a computer simulation because of

a few code lookin' textures.

I just assumed that they were teasing me.

But part of me was really concerned.

I kind of saw the twist coming.

I was scared that it was all a lie.

This game was pretty honest with you that it was all fake.

And I have to once again compliment its clever storytelling on how well it added its themes

to this whole mess of a story.

Danganronpa V3 loves its themes, and I'll submit and say that I loved them too.

The basic conflict in the story isn't the generic hope versus despair this time, it

is instead the conflict of whether it's better to always face the truth and accept

all possibilities or find belief in what can be lies.

And it was really well implemented.

So much so that the whole story was a lie.

So you see the surprisingly well done foreshadowing and then we have the Danganronpa V3 cast.

But then they throw around the word remember.

And all I wanted was the game to be just pranking me.

Once everyone has their talents, the entire game is pretty normal by Danganronpa standards.

Kaede starts talking about her history and I'm crossing my fingers HOPING, JUST FUCKING

HOPING that I was being joked on.

That all of Kaede's history actually happened.

All right, let's hit the fast forward button.

I knew Shuichi was hiding an ahoge!

And for most of the story, I was sailing smoothly.

Eventually I had forgotten about most of the prologue and was just enjoying another Danganronpa

game.

Most of the story they were "remembering" shit from the Hope's Peak universe.

And cool.

The flashlight of memory was cool, even though we had kinda done it before.

But I decided to stay optimistic.

Fifth case comes, and it turns out the world is destroyed.

Oh no.

The apocalypse has happened but it was a different apocalypse.

One that came after the tragedy.

Okay.

There's probably a catch.

It's probably just a prank.

They wouldn't show the whole world destroyed during the fifth fucking case, right?

RIGHT?

Well yeah.

Turns out it's not the complete story.

And like the other games, Danganronpa V3's fifth case is the one where everything falls

apart.

Okay, chapter 6.

Wow, I get to use the power of friendship to crush boulders?

Cool!

Time limit?

Fine, still cool.

Wow, Kokichi actually led a bunch of pranksters.

That's a funny plot twist.

Rantaro was the ultimate survivor?

Wow.

All the memories were… fake?

Huh, I guess that means the solution to the mystery can be ANYTHING!

Fun! Alright, onto the trial.

We're going to find out what's REALLY happening.

Wow, this is getting real interesting.

So the mastermind was Tsumugi!

Wow, I wonder what her story was.

Oh shit, oh shit, oh shit….

"it's Junko Enoshima!"

Oh.

"Even if it's boring or repetitive, she's always the masterm ind, isn't she?"

OH.

Dangan fucking Ronpa.

At least the Monokubs are gone.

Oh okay so it's Junko again.

Maybe it's a robot or some shit… this series is weird.

53rd?

Fifty… third?

Fifty… five…

roman… numerals…

OH SHIT, yeah that's pretty clever.

Danganronpa V3's true name is Danganronpa 53.

Wow.

What a cool twist.

So has the ultimate despair somehow survived and has been hosting killing games for years?!

Wow, that's quite the twist.

Just kidding.

No, as I said earilier, Danganronpa V3 is fictional.

Fictional within the game.

Nothing that the game wanted to happen ever happened.

It's a tv show loved by us?

Or the people within the many layers of canon and irony in the story this game is trying

to thread.

The next three fucking hours are just the game covering its ass and trying to explain

to its fans why they shouldn't be pissed.

But when Danganronpa tells me that the game is fictional, it takes the characters a bit

to realize they're fictional too.

But somehow self aware and shit.

All the backstory?

Bullshit.

All the character?

Bullshit.

The talents, the families, everything that made these characters feel real is all fake.

Not just in real life, but within the game.

The game is reminding me of how these characters aren't real.

Whatever.

It's interesting commentary on our relationships with video games.

You know, except for the fact that this is throwing your characters away.

What Danganronpa V3 misses is that there is nothing truly material when they pull this

card.

There's some weird grasp of self-awareness the students get, but there's no facts for

them to rely on.

I wanted them to have purpose.

I wanted to believe in them.

I wanted to believe… in… them…

OH, FOR FUCK'S SAKE.

You got me, Team Danganronpa.

You fucking got me.

You wanted me to stop worrying about what actually happened and just "believe in"

the story I was given.

Very fuckin' clever.

Kaito's mumblings had purpose, huh?

This is what bothers me; the game knows what it's doing when it just pulls the "nah

its just a game boy" card.

And it pulls the card SO WELL.

But I think the best way to describe it is, you can tell everyone you're going to take

a shit on the floor.

You can dance around and do a backflip before taking a shit on the floor.

But you're still going to be taking a shit on the floor.

Just like how Danganronpa took a shit on its own story and fanbase.

The thing that makes this script hard to write is that the ending has a sense of meaning

the player can find for themselves.

But the game is so unconfident in it that it has to do some heavy gymnastics to even

find a conclusion.

They have to mock fans, poke holes in any theories, and just defy any set logic to make

the story make sense.

My first experience of this ending was one of confusion and distaste.

Are they even dead?

Are they people?

But upon revisiting it, it makes a bit more practical sense.

After some thinking and research, I've found a bit of understanding of the ending.

Here's what I understand the meaning of the Danganronpa 53 ending is.

After years of Danganronpa video games and anime, they decided to make it a reality tv

show.

They had real volunteers to go in and kill each other for the world's excitement for

years and years.

The show had become longer running than the Simpsons and eventually they reached their

53rd season.

A bunch of underage children volunteered to risk their lives and become characters in

the series.

The kids had their memories deleted and rebuilt to give them new personalities and designs.

Whatever was their original beings were lost.

They killed each other and they became aware of the lies that built up the Danganronpa

series.

And that's the whole thing behind it.

So yeah, it made some sense.

At least according to the Danganronpa wiki.

But even with that, the dialogue doesn't really fit the explanation.

Because the game doesn't portray any of its messages very clearly in the final chapter.

This is why my fondest memories are of the first Danganronpa game.

It felt like I was solving a mystery.

There were no cop outs.

The cases were a bit simpler and less interesting, but the mystery of the entire game didn't

fall back on some catch-all mechanic like the Neo World Program or "bruh it was a

social experiment".

So the game makes fun of their own shitty

ending and that's really it.

I am impressed at how well Danganronpa V3 foreshadowed its entire story and explained

it all away.

But I'm not impressed at how convoluted and fluffed up it is.

Because that's what happened.

You can ignore all the mumbo jumbo they're saying about the audience and the fiction,

and what's really left?

Not much.

Just a bunch of teens who volunteered to kill each other who had their brains mutilated

trying to escape the mess they might've gotten into.

Or maybe it's a bunch of drawn characters coming to life and denying being fictional.

Maybe we're the outside world and the characters are telling us to fuck ourselves.

Or maybe it's a bunch of Japanese men writing about a world within a world within a world

and trying to explain it away.

And once they can, they just end it off right there.

It feels like the game doesn't want me to enjoy it.

Maybe I've just had too many post-modern absurdist endings in video games.

Maybe I've just had my share of Undertales, Stanley Parables, Zero Escapes, and more.

I've been pretty kind to the rest of the

game as a whole in this video.

Because well, this game may have had the best cast, the best music, the best cases, and

more.

But once the game needed to make the big decision, it chickened out.

I guess I just wanted to believe in this world.

I wanted these characters to be real.

I can't enjoy them if their stories are all fake.

I know how well the themes are written in, I love how well the story is paced.

But it just sucks that instead of a traditional ending they just said it was fictional, shielded

criticism, and ran off.

I know it was the point, but the lack of definite answers bothers me.

The whole explanation is floating around two points but it doesn't want to commit to anything.

So what's left is a puzzle piece that can be put in places, but doesn't really fit

anywhere.

I can see why people like it.

The games have always been down with absurd endings and in some ways this is no different,

but this time it just went too far.

It just killed any relationship I had with the game.

The 30 plus hours I spent with the characters felt… meaningless.

I can't geek out about them like I used to.

It all just seems so fake.

So yeah, that's what, in my opinion, New Danganronpa V3: Killing Harmony did wrong.

What do you think about the game?

Did you like it, dislike it?

Did you enjoy the ending, or are you on my boat?

Feel free to add to the discussion in the comment section below.

Thanks for watching.

2017 Gaming Diary | May (5/12) - Duration: 7:26.

Phew.

Some break after P5, Nier and Zelda, finally ! Nothing better to start the month off with

than Zone of the Enders : The 2nd Runner.

And my expectations were high : Years after knowing and learning about the game, seeing

so many people loving the shit out of this episode got me really intrigued.

The first episode had extremely well conceived controls, but though I enjoyed the loneliness

of the ambiance, the levels were really repetitive and the story was completely stupid.

Zone 2, unfortunately, isn't innocent of these issues either.

You play as a way more charismatic character, there's classy animated cutscenes by Productions

IG, and the controls are better than ever.

But just like the first game, it's like the main game and level design doesn't even

try to let you use all of the moves to their full extent.

The enemies are often the same, some are absolutely unfair garbage (like those mummyheads bastards,

i hope you burn forever in hell) and some others are fine.

And that's really sad, considering how polished and well conceived everything else is.

So much potential that's just ruined because of some minor inconveniences.

We could always pray for a third installment that will fix all of the issues to get a perfect

game but eh, let's be honest, this will never exist.

And if it does it won't be with Kojima, so…

I'm waiting for the VR game to release, it must be pretty sick.

Muramasa Rebirth ! One of my favorite games.

I got the complete collection on my own vita, and couldn't resist the urge to play it

instantly.

The game is just as great as i remembered it.

I know some people get tired of the gameplay after a while, but I just love juggling through

enemies with the best music and environment art i've seen on vita.

Slashing your swords through dozens of Yokai and Samurai just feels fantastic, even 10

hours in.

I could concentrate on the story and lore a bit more on my second playthrough, and to

be honest, it's pretty good for an almost brain dead beat'em all.

There really is nothing uninteresting in this game, and if you're looking for some more

games based on japanese folklore like Nioh, you really should try this one out.

The Unfinished Swan is an adventure game by Giant Sparrow licensed by Sony.

You play as a little kid living through the dreams of a crazy little king.

You go through 4 different major parts, and every chapter is composed with different gameplay

ideas, which makes the short game pretty lively and interesting.

It'd be a shame to spoil the mechanics too much, so I'll just let you play it and discover

it all by yourself.

If you find the game on sale on PSN, it's worthwhile if you like first person adventure

games.

Playing spyro in April was so fun, I needed to play the sequel.

I've heard from a lot of people that it's the most fun of the games, so I was really

excited.

And i love it even more than the first.

The levels are more memorable, especially thanks to those cute little skits between

levels, but also because it feels like the levels are really different.

In Spyro, most zones were really similar but here, there's a real sense of variety.

The hubworld is pretty simple but has the most hypnotic and peaceful soundtracks i've

ever heard.

Spyro also controls wayyy better, they got rid of the useless rolls, and everything feels

more alive than in the first game.

For the rest, it's Spyro.

Good fun kid game.

It has already been a year since I played Shovel Knight.

And with the release of Specter Knight, I needed to catch up with the series.

And so I finally launched Plague Knight, and though I did enjoy the new gameplay mechanics,

they feel really annoying sometimes on some levels.

I absolutely adore Plague Knight's dorkness and the romantic tension between him and Mona.

The game actually felt way more lively than Shovel of Hope, ironically enough.

But Shovel was still more fun to play.

Sorry, man.

I also wished the levels were more altered like they were in Specter but oops, gotta

talk about that later.

For what it's worth, Plague Knight is still a good way to reexperience Shovel Knight in

a different setting.

Resident Evil 2 ! Now I was excited to play this one.

This time, you play as Leon in a more linear setting.

Instead of running through the same hallways like you did in the first entry, the game

is divided into different places throughout the story.

It gives more life to Racoon City and it makes Resident Evil 2 much more diverse than the

first one.

Even prettier, more options, a bigger focus on the story and lore, it's like the game

keeps the same qualities as the first one to create an even better experience.

Playing with Claire after Leon makes the story much more interesting : The levels are the

same as Leon but depending on your choices during your first playthrough, the game will

progress differently.

That's a solid sequel for ya.

God of War.

Another Sony series I'd never been able to play.

I was expecting some dumb button mashing game with no soul, but it turns out God of War

is closer to a good beat'em all like Devil May Cry than some boring as hell action game.

Kratos plays really well, and it's fun to destroy enemies with some classy combos while

juggling them around.

The game is violent and timed just right so that you never end up doing the same things

over and over.

Well, I sure didn't have fun solving the dumb puzzles, but they're pretty passive

for the most part and they give the player a good break from time to time.

Mythology isn't really my thing, but God of War knows how to tell a story without necessarily

making it a pain in the ass to follow or understand, and all the while giving value to the mechanics.

Shantae : Risky's Revenge was my first experience of this series.

The game progresses a bit like a Metroidvania, but in a more horizontal space, which sometimes

feels a bit off.

But in it's presentation, this is a cute game.

The music, graphic details, the cute characters and atmosphere, they're all here to contribute

to Shantae's mystical world.

But clearly the game sometimes just feels boring, and exploring the map isn't the

most fun thing on earth.

I understand it's a dsiware game, but if the game was more linear instead of trying

to be more "open" like a metroidvania, I think it would be much more enjoyable.

But I sure am interested in Pirate's Curse.

The last game I played this month was Sonic CD, and oh boy, it's even better than i

remembered it as a kid.

It was the first time I actually finished it, and playing through it just left me with

a gigantic grin on my face because I was simply having so much fun.

There are so many paths in every level.

Trust me, every time you play a new game, it's never the same experience.

There's 4 different versions of every stage, the game looks gorgeous, and holy crap.

The fucking.

Soundtrack.

It's unholy.

Out of this world.

Bad future tracks are evil, good future and modern will make you want to breakdance with

your dog, past songs are crafted in the genesis soundfont which gives off an excellent throwback

without forcing down nostalgia…

Sonic CD is my second favorite Sonic game, and that's all thanks to the incredibly

well conceived level design and soundtrack.

Well that was a huge fucking lot.

Won't be surprised if this is one of the longest parts so far, but let's remember

that these are all for the most part very short games.

I won't make this any longer, so I'll see you around with the June video !

10 things to do in Rovinj, Croatia Travel Guide | Rovigno Day Trip from Pula - Duration: 11:42.

You'll hear things like "Tell your family you love them, spend quality time with them,

let them know you care.
