TAYST - Sirens (Lyrics / Lyric Video) - Duration: 2:49.

Into the sirens

Into the sirens

The sirens are calling out

Into the sirens

Will drown them out

The sounds were making

Won't turn around

I don't need saving

Into the sirens

Into the sirens

Into the sirens

Into the sirens

Jump with you

Run with you

I want to dance with you

And one thing on my mind

Tonight there's only two of us

I hear the warning signs

Yeah I know it could be dangerous

Until I am with you, Till I feel safe

I'll never give up the chase

Won't hold back for nothing, Won't stay away

Keep running towards your flame

Into the sirens

Into the sirens

Into the sirens

Jump with you

Run with you

dance with you

Into the sirens

Jump with you

Run with you

I want to dance with you

The stronger my heart beats for what I found

The louder they make their sound

Power of I - Snakebite Antidote - UC Irvine - Duration: 1:24.

Evolution has produced venom in snakes

for two purposes

to kill its prey

and to digest it.

Snake envenomation is an enormous problem worldwide.

Our concept is something that could be applied immediately

at the point of envenomation

where the snake bit

and neutralize very quickly

much of the damage that could possibly be done.

We synthesize organic polymer nanoparticles

in the chemistry laboratory.

These nanoparticles function as a sponge for toxic proteins

and it neutralizes its activity.

Compared to the current antidote that's out there right now

our approach is vastly less expensive to manufacture.

It does not require the injection of venom

into surrogate animals to create the antidote.

It also does not need refrigeration

and it does not require the identification of the snake

that bit the victim to treat it.

Ultimately having a significant impact

in the reduction of both mortality

and morbid injuries.

SUPREME X LEVIS 2017 WEEK 12 DROPLIST - Duration: 12:15.

we lost a great today we lost a great

today rest in peace big black please

long this our way too short but that

doesn't matter we fill up the ledger

today I still have to show my respect to

that legend life must also go on and I

must still post videos and it is

Wednesday so it means it's a time for

another droplets video and if you guys

didn't notice I've been gone for like a

week or two and that's just basically

for my health I wasn't feeling very well

and I didn't want to post videos of me

not feeling well they're kind of erupt

and I don't think they're be as good so

I just decided to take a break from

social media completely and I feel good

not so energized if you're ready to post

more videos so that's what I'm coming to

you guys with today

another job that's like I said quick

announcement before I get into my

jobless video if you have any questions

that you want me to answer please be

sure to leave them in the comments

section of the little 30-second clips

that I have up on my channel if you guys

don't want to go look for it

I'll put a card right here and I've

linked down below you can ask me

whatever you want because I'm going to

be answering all of the questions in the

Q&A video so if you have anything you

want to ask me be sure to ask a on that

video because it will be answered in my

Q&A video so without further ado let's

get into the droplets video this is the

week 12 drop I think last week was 11

and I missed it the drop was not cool

anyway so I wasn't missing too much this

is also the week of the supreme and

levi's collaboration there's only like

13 items dropping this week so I'm just

going to start with you obama and iraq

and the obama pan as you can see it's an

all over print has Obama's picture on a

ll bottom it says Barack Obama 44th

President of the United States

shoutout to Obama by the way if you're

watching this Obama I love you dude

imagine if Obama watch my videos that'd

be so sick I put them on like every

thing that I have like in the bio and

clip videos are watched by the 44th

president

the United States if you have no Abama

by the way let them know about my videos

I don't know if anyone knows about them

but that would be so sick so yeah it has

a bum on it

the patterns kind of loud for me so I'm

probably going to pass on it it's also

like very haphazard looking like the way

they put supreme everywhere just is kind

of random but I do think this is a

really cool like concept I think the

suit would be cool together who knows I

might cut this I might not I don't know

how expensive it's going to be either

but yeah that's the Obama in Iraq and

the Obama pants so moving on from those

we are moving to the lace long-sleeve

top as you can see it is a lace

long-sleeve top with that flower pattern

I have to leave them like a lace bomber

or something like that a couple weeks

ago or last week or something I don't

know but they have a yellow a white and

a red the same colors as that other

jacket last week - I'm not really a fan

of it as cool that's whatever it looks

like an old couch kind of I think this

is alright the red one is my favorite

one the red with the black looks really

cool because it's like a darker wine red

but the rest of these are pretty ugly in

my opinion I'm not really a fan of them

they are all going to be a pass for me

however because I don't really want to

spend money on this because I'm kind of

unsure about it and I don't really think

I wear it so that is the lace

long-sleeve top and another item that

looks like a jacket that released a

couple of weeks ago is the supreme truth

long sleeve tee and that's like the

truth tour jacket look-alike or whatever

that's called the tour jacket something

like that it has that same embroidery on

and it says supreme truth

that was actually my favorite piece of

that jacket like I didn't like this that

was ejected but I really loved the

embroidery so they're just putting it on

the long seat tee so I think it's super

sick I actually might hop this because I

really love that broidery they have six

colorways they have a black and orange a

green a blue a white and a purple it has

that thick embroidery they have on the

jacket I hope it's embroidered by the

way if it's not reported I'm going to

pass on it but if it is on my copy and a

color because I need some colors in my

wardrobe because I've just been copying

black shirts from lot of all these

supreme Jessop just in buying black

black like but I might

other than this if it is embroidered I'm

definitely going to cop it because I

think it's super sick I just really love

that design and I think it looks super

tight on the shirt so that is the

Supreme Truth long-sleeve tee so moving

on from that we are moving on to the

sleeve arts fitted sweatshirt and as you

can see it is a sleeve art coded

sweatshirt explained and has the art

logo all the way down on both sleeves

alternates there is a solid logo and an

open logo solid opens held open and it

just keeps going now how many colors

have seven colors they have a navy a

green a red a gray a pink a black and an

orange the only one that I like is the

great would be red on the sleeve I think

that's a super sick color where the pink

ones not bad either but this is going to

be a pass through me I don't really like

the design that much and for me to buy a

hoodie right now the hoodie would have

to be super thick and this one I'm

afraid it's not in my opinion so that is

the sleeve art hooded sweatshirt so

moving on from that we are moving to the

ringer tee and as you can see it's just

a plain ring or tee they have six colors

they have a white a red a blue a brown a

purple and a black and it's just a plain

ring or tee on one of the sides that

says supreme it kind of looks like the

blind spot like blind skateboards it

looks like that font so that's pretty

cool if that's embroider that's a really

cool shirt I'm not really a fan of

ringer T's though I don't like really

how that style looks so this is going to

be a pass for me if I was the cop this

up probably couple of white one just

because it looks the best in my opinion

with that colorful logo I think all the

other ones that look kind of weird

except for the black one maybe but if

you're buying a ring or two you don't

want to all black one because you want

to see like the cuffs on the shirt and

you wouldn't be able to see it with the

black one but yeah that's the ring or

tee I think it's pretty cool I'm not

going to buy it though I might pass on

pretty much everything in this drop but

who knows

so moving on we're moving to the

embroidered band collar short sleeve

shirt and as you can see they have four

colors of it they have a white of black

a blue and a pink these are pretty cool

a piece similar to this released a

couple years ago and is really high

so like a lot of people were going after

that piece so I feel like a lot of

people might be going up to this one I

think it's pretty cool it's just not

really my style so I don't think I'm

going to cop it has the button going all

the way down and it has an embroidered

pattern kind of in a square it doesn't

go across the whole shirt it's just in

like a rectangle out say it has a pocket

I think it's pretty cool the black one

would probably be cool I think the white

one would be cool too I'm not really a

fan of the colored ones of this style of

shirt but to each his own some people

might like it I just don't I think it's

a really cool piece otherwise though

it's just not really my style so I'm

going to pass on it next up we have the

pin striped bass club Jersey and I

typically don't like in stripes except

for a couple things like this hat and

this Jersey is actually one of those

things that I do like I like the colors

that it comes in that's probably why I

like it if it was in different colors I

probably wouldn't like it they have a

black of green a pink and in orange and

I like every single one of them it has a

v-neck collar and on the color it has

like striping on it and it has an art

logo with like a really bold supreme

font they put this on a couple of items

in this season already and I really love

that part looks all the items that they

put that fun on I just think this bond

is super sick I just I don't know why it

just looks really good to me if I was to

call this that gives a green one for

shirt but I think I'm going to pass on

it because while I do like it I don't

think it's that time to where I have to

have it I have to spend money on it I

think that was a lot of clothing item

that I had to cover if I'm not mistaken

so I'm going to get into the accessories

and I'm going to talk about the Levi's

collab so the first accessory is the

tonal seersucker campout as you can see

it's a camp camp with six different

colors ever read a really light line

likes lime green a black a pink a wire

in a blue it's just the camp cap

seersucker is a material I believe I've

seen it a lot like I've seen that word a

lot with like suits and things like that

so I believe it's a different material

so with this you're probably getting

just a campout with a different material

so yeah it's going to be a pass for me I

don't like how they look on my head but

you guys may like this so that's the

tonal to soccer camp cap so the last

lookbook item and the last accessory of

this drop before we get into the

lab is a Terry local hand towel and as

you can see it's like a tunnel box logo

but it's a hand towel they have a white

a red and a black a lot of people really

love the supreme towel so if you want

this be up in time because they will go

fast a lot of them in the past I've wet

fast so I don't know why these ones

wouldn't but yeah it's just like a box

go go hand towel I'm waiting for the big

towel to come out so I can get like a

big beach towel but this is just a hand

towel it's pretty cool I like every

color the white one would probably be

the last one that I would go for the red

and black would probably be with the

ones that go for though but yeah let's

see Terry local hand towel that is the

last of the Olympic items I'm going to

get into the collab with Levi's so

what's the premium Levi's are doing is

they're releasing two different items in

three different colors each they're

releasing a jacket and some pants I'm

going to start with the jacket first

it's called Lee custom fleece hooded

trucker jacket it's just a basic denim

jacket with a hood stitch into it it

says supreme on the side I think it's a

really cool concept they have a black

with white a blue with red and a white

with camo I like all of these I wouldn't

really wear the white one though so that

one's going to be the one I pass on if I

go for these at all

I really wish they switch the camo hood

with the Redman though because the camel

with the denim will look super tight but

they didn't they chose to do that for a

reason obviously as you can see it's

like it's not acid scission it's just

parts of the hood like it has the side

of like a zip woody so you can still zip

the jacket up but it's not a hoodie

inside of a jacket which is pretty cool

because if you want to layer but it's

too hot still there you can still wear

this which I think it's a really cool

concept I like to blue in the vest deep

black on the second bit and the white

one the third bit I don't know how much

these are going to be either they might

be pretty pricey because usually like

the denim collabs or the gist the denim

in general is usually pretty expensive

stuff from supreme so who knows how

expensive these are going to be so the

final item is the supreme Levi's Custom

Fit 505 of jeans as you can see they

have three colors they have a black a

blue and the white just like the jacket

these are just basic pairs of pants but

they say supreme down one of these legs

there's not really too much else to say

about the pants themselves they're just

basically vise pants with supreme tag

inside

I like the black in the blue pair if I

go for this collab at all it's going to

be the black or blue pair of pants

because I think these would look super

tight with an outfit but who knows who

knows how they fit they look like they'd

be kind of baggy but I guess it's worth

a gamble because I can just sell them if

I don't like how they look on me but

yeah definitely looking to go for these

depending on the price hopefully they're

not too bad if they're not bad I'm going

to go for them though that was a custom

fit 505 jeans and that was also the week

twelve droplets I really hope you guys

enjoyed this video if you did please

JOHNNY'S BOX [Unboxing] (Eng subs) - Duration: 5:38.

Needed only ask!

Following the MyJapanbox unboxing video I made, where I was saying that no Johnny's box existed,

so one of you decided to create their own box including homemade goodies

I'll put the link to her page in the description below

The idea is exactly the same, it's a surprise box. The only thing I know for this one is that several groups are mixed

If there's Sexy Zone, I'm gonna cry

That awkward moment when your mic keeps falling off

Dammit, hey!

So this one is homemade, I think it was around 40 Euros + shipping fee

It was quite a mission to retrieve it because of freaking Parcel Force who wouldn't deliver the box and

I had to go to the end of the world to get it myself!

so let me tell you I deserved this!

The box is super cute and I love that she put the bands name all around it

KAT-TUN, Arashi, Tegomass

Why Tegomass and not NEWS? That's surprising

And...

Where's the 8?

Kanjani alone isn't enough!

Don't know if you can see but she put her name on the bottom:

Elo Goodies Fanmade

The box is better decorated than MyJapanBox, thank you for that!

and there's a descriptive card! Let's see what's inside

Real goodies and Fanmade goodies, I have an idea of what to expect

That'll leave the bed very messy

Omg this is adorable!

There's a Hello Kitty dressed as an Eito Ranger

and it's black, meaning this is Yoko's

Yoko being my favourite I'm super happy

She's so cute~

There's the 8 on her butt!

next!

A ramen? Ah Tegomass, it's Miso soup?

Is that what da...prrrrt

I'm too excited

A miso soup keychain, it is Tegomass related, now I understand the name on the box

Apparently this is one of the goodies she made, it's cute! And makes me hungry...

Next

Sweets!I put it next to the box for later

A card of Yoko-boo

Baseball style, with info in the back:

Throw: Right. Bat: Right. Age: 30 (it's an old one)

Hometown: Osakaaaa

Blood type: A. DOB:.....

May 9th

Today's May 7th

Crap, I could have opened this on his birthday!

Next!

Isn't this an oldie? V6's single Arigatou no Uta

That's what I thought, look how young!

When was it again? I can't find it on the CD so I'll put it...here

I'll listen to this later

Next!

A flask

Part 1 of 2 of Fire and Ice

referring to KAT-TUN's song

I want to open it but it'll explode everywhere so maybe that's not a good idea

Next!

There's an infinite sign, you know what this means? It's a 8 for Kanjani

Hopefully it focuses because I have no damn clue

Next!

Oh boy! I spotted Tegoshi's face! There's a Tegoshi in the bottom

Ah the Youth!

The Tegomass no Mahou album

Look at these baby faces!

So young, so innocent, they were not raping jackets in public yet!

Next!

A Yamada Ryosuke pompom ring. If it's Ryosuke, I'll take it then

I have fat fingers though, will it fit?

Han, look at that!

Little pompom~

2 items to go!

A Cosmos bag decoration, referring to Arashi's song

The pearls do look like very galaxy-ish, space-ish

so I assume that's the one

Purple for Matsujun?

FYI, Matsujun's not my favourite but it's a surprise box so... I still suspect it's done on purpose!

Oh my Diva!

When we dance covered Arashi, I was always doing Matsujun because I'm a show off myself

I didn't try too hard to impersonate Matsujun! You're welcome

Kiko might be jealous however because her favourite color is purple

If I tell it's Matsujun she might not want it though...

You always find a place for these things!

Next!

And the last one: a Sakurai Sho spoon strap

The red purple is for Sho, but as I don't know Arashi as well as KAT-TUN I don't get the reference on this one

I still found the spoon very swaggy, with the tiny crown

Next!

Done! That's it for this box

She actually wrote about the sweets: a small packet of Matsujun Kompei...purple, lol

My Diva's reference! MJ, if you're watching... *smooch*

Let me clean the mess a bit, it's everywhere

There you go.. *prrrt*

HAIR, again! AGAIN! Dammit!

That's it for me this week, I hope you enjoyed this video

remember to give it a thumbs up and share it

Go check Kazu's page, link is below

If you have any recommendation, available on TW, FB and IG I'll also put all links in the box below

If you missed last week's video, it's right here!

Go check it and let me know your thoughts

and as usual don't forget to subscribe so you don't miss next week's video!

That's it for me this week, see you soon~

First ROADTRIP In The Beater! - Duration: 6:54.

Hey it's a beater! hello

finally weekend.... Welcome to Holland

traffic jams, every day for free!

Heeeeere get your traffic jams! Today we're going to my

dad for one day

that's not very special what is special

about today is that it will be our first

long trip in the beater... we haven't

really done a longer trip and to

Maastricht from Utrecht it's about 175

180 kilometres, so that's about two / two

and a half hours drive so anyways this

is a good test just to sort of find out

if the beater is capable of doing a

longer trip and if it's comfortable for

a longer trip. If it really disappoints then

we'll never do it again... and if it's

okay then we might do it again so this

is like a guinea pig trip ya guinea pig

yeah this is not supposed to happen

Major fuck up.... major fuck up! So now I have no

idea where we're going to end up when we

get out of this tunnel ...are you actually

going to overtake somebody in the tunnel??

You crazy woman! Look what she is doing

she's overtaking a car in the tunnel

like a crazy person

We made it into Maastricht, with the

beater and I'm hungry so I think we

should get some food now yep

Thank You Cleveland we love you

Anyways...

I think we're gonna go on a road trip

somewhere but I don't really know yet

where we're gonna go that's the thing

man it's just one big adventure

haha young man! We're going down

hill we're going downhill in the beater!!!

look at these people on their bikes man

that was cool! We should do that the other

way around and see if the beater goes

up the hill. So we are in Valkenburg!

We're going to climb a hill now

Come on chicken shit go!

Wasn't that exciting children?

Birdy nam nam!

Birdy nam nam!!!

I'm in the back seat of a beater what the hell's going on??

So, we're leaving Valkenburg goodbye

Valkenburg! Go towards Jesus my child go

towards him ...the power of yeah whatever

pretty cool, my dad just told me that

this was some sort of a witch

Covenant place where they summoned each

other and then they summoned witchcraft

what when was that like in the 18th

century or something or? You see this sort of

a circle here?

is pretty weird man

Oh look at this man... this is some creepy shit as well...

...look at this. Supposed to be me: Jesus!

Well in all fairness I mean,

If you're a hermit I guess this is not

really a bad place to be so in the

middle of beautiful forest with like a

nice beautiful house and... except that

maybe you'll have some sort of a which

covenant going on in your backyard which

is not really ideal but... I guess you just

learn to live with that. It's a

yin-yang thing yeah sure alright what's

next?

Belgium alright with the beater

We're in Belgium! With our beater! So this

is the first international trip also

with the beater... five it's kind of hard

to give up high five in this car

I like it oh you gotta go you gotta go

you gotta go gotta go we're on our way

back home

after a lightning visits to Maastricht.

I'm hoping that the beater will get us

home again and next long trip we'll be

in the lexy mobile again because in all

fairness it is the more comfortable car

But hey, the beater is able to do a

longer trip and that's what we wanted to

know so success! Thumbs up for the beater

alright guys thank you for watching and

see you in the next video PEACE!

How To Use DuoLingo Most Effectively - Duration: 9:57.

Hello, it's Alex!

It's been quite some time since I've recorded a video,

and one of the reasons is that my old camera broke.

So this is a new camera,

so hopefully it'll have better video quality.

Today I want to talk more about DuoLingo.

DuoLingo is a website and app for learning languages.

I made a video before

in which I said that, for me,

DuoLingo was more effective for learning languages

than traditional classroom learning,

and I gave some explanations why.

And I'd encourage you to watch that if you haven't.

In this video, though,

I want to go into a little bit more depth,

and I want to talk about

how you can use DuoLingo effectively.

I've watched a lot of different people use DuoLingo,

like I've sat next to them

while they are using the app on their phone

or the app on their desktop computer,

through the web app.

And I've noticed that people

don't necessarily use DuoLingo the same way,

and I think that there are some

more and less effective ways of using it.

The first thing I want to emphasize,

I think the web app is WAAAAY better

than the phone app.

I strongly recommend not using the phone app at all.

I really like the web interface.

There are tons of features

that are only available in the DuoLingo web interface.

When you use the web app, for example,

and it has you translate sentences,

you're piecing together sentences,

using like a choice of words that it gives you,

whereas on the web app,

you're actually typing in the words yourself.

It's much more open-ended,

and you will find that you learn things like,

you learn how to spell, for one, in the language,

which is immensely valuable,

and I find that learning the spelling,

typing things out,

also improves my pronunciation,

and more importantly,

you're having to recall things

in a more open-ended fashion.

Like, you have to actually recall the words

more often, instead of just

picking them from a set of choices

that it displays to you.

And I think that that skill

is much more useful

if you want to actually speak the language,

because when you're in a conversation,

you don't have like a multiple choice list

that pops up in your head,

like you have to come up with the word yourself.

This is just one of many examples.

Another reason though that I think that

it's better to do DuoLingo on a computer

in a web browser

rather than on a smartphone using the app,

is that you can have all these other browser tabs open

or windows open on your computer,

where you have supplemental resources,

so like one example of a resource

that I use all the time

when I'm learning new words in DuoLingo

is Google Image Search.

Like when you learn words in a foreign language,

it can be tempting to just

take the recommended translation

or the dictionary definition as the end of the story.

But like, languages don't correspond

in a one-to-one manner,

and even if there's a word that literally translates

the same way in another language,

it might have different connotations

from what you're used to.

So like, you might translate it one way,

but maybe the word is a little bit more formal

or a little bit more casual

than the word that it's typically translated as in English.

You can have differences in connotations of like

the context in which you might use the word.

When you're learning another language,

it's easy to miss those sorts of connotations.

If you go into Google Image Search

and you type the word in

in the language that you're learning,

you see pictures, and there's that like

"Pictures are worth a thousand words."

saying,

I think there's some truth in that, like

when you start seeing pictures,

you get a mental picture of what the word means,

and you realize that

these words have different connotations,

and you start to get like a feeling,

a sense of that connotation,

and I think that's really powerful.

You can't really do that if you're using

the DuoLingo phone app.

It's really cumbersome to be switching back and forth

between different windows on a phone,

whereas on a computer, it's really easy,

because you have the full keyboard,

you have a mouse,

you can switch tabs with keyboard shortcuts.

You can also use sites to get

supplemental information on pronunciation.

And this feeds into one of the things

that I think is super critical,

and it's something that I notice a lot of people

don't seem to focus on as much

when they're doing DuoLingo,

and that's pronunciation.

When I started doing DuoLingo,

one of the things I really liked about it,

it has this computerized voice, which,

it's not super perfect sounding,

like it's not totally natural,

but it's pretty good in most languages,

and there's something about it being very standardized

that I think is useful, like

it allows you to pay attention to the pronunciation

in a way where you can keep monitoring

how you're speaking out loud,

and how your own speech is not quite matching

what the voice is pronouncing the words as.

And I found that that was really helpful,

like when I was in a classroom,

I was surrounded by people

who were just speaking with a heavy American accent,

and that was pretty bad for pushing me to the next level.

Obviously, the best thing to do is

immersion with native speakers,

but I do think that DuoLingo

offers a unique ability to pay attention

to pronunciation more closely.

So I'd say, when you're doing DuoLingo,

focus a lot on listening to the nuances of pronunciation,

and speak things out loud,

not just in the speaking exercises.

Like, it'll give you speaking exercises to do,

but you can pronounce anything out loud,

and, especially when I'm starting to learn a new language,

and my pronunciation isn't great,

I try to read everything out loud, that I see.

Especially the stuff that it speaks to me,

I like to speak it back,

but then I like to try to read words loud on my own,

and see if I get it correctly.

I find that when I put a lot more energy

into learning the pronunciation,

it pays off a lot in the long-run,

like it's a lot of work up-front,

but then things start getting easier later on.

So that's another way that I would recommend

for you to approach DuoLingo,

like focus more on pronunciation,

and consider using external resources.

There's this site Forvo,

where you can type in a specific word,

in a specific language, and it'll tell you,

like it'll have different people pronouncing the word,

and it'll tell you where each of those people is from,

so you can be like, "Okay, I want someone in Spain"

"pronouncing this word in Spanish."

"I want someone in Mexico pronouncing it."

And you can hear how they pronounce the word differently.

And in some cases that can be really useful,

like if you're wanting to travel to a region

where there's a specific dialect,

and you want to be familiar with that dialect,

that's really important.

Umm, other things about using DuoLingo effectively?

I think that it's really important to

let the AI, the artificial intelligence of DuoLingo,

do its job.

DuoLingo has an AI,

and it measures, like what, it keeps track of

what things you get right and wrong,

it even keeps track of like,

if you put your mouse over the word,

to use the hover-over hints.

It then realizes, oh you might not know this word as well

as a word that you don't ever hover over,

if you get the hint.

And, appropriately, it gives you those words more often,

especially if you get a word wrong,

it gives you those more often in exercises.

And, I find that like,

the best way to get the most out of that AI

is to use the "strengthen skills" feature.

So, it's like a practice feature

that automatically tells you

what you need to work on

and then it gives you that exercise to do.

I find that this is not just useful for like using that AI,

it also kind of helps me manage my time,

cause like when I'm studying a foreign language,

it takes a great deal of initiative

and self-discipline,

and a lot of that initiative is taken up

by me deciding what I want to work on next.

And I think one of the great values of DuoLingo

is that it does a lot of that work for you.

It tells you what to work on next,

based on its assessment

of what you've been getting wrong

and what skills are solid,

and it gives you the stuff

that you haven't practiced in a while,

or that it knows you've been getting wrong.

And I find it does a pretty good job of that.

I also find like, when, when I do that,

when I use that strengthen skills feature,

it really, it helps me to relax,

it makes it seem like it takes less mental energy,

and freeing up that mental energy

of like time management,

and choosing what to work on

gives me more energy to focus on

learning the language:

learning the words, learning the grammar,

and doing those supplemental things

that I told you before, about like

typing things into Google search,

and learning the connotations of words.

So like, when I see some people practicing DuoLingo,

they like rush ahead, and they learn all these new lessons,

and they don't keep the "tree" as it's called,

they don't keep the tree fully practiced.

I recommend keeping everything fully practiced,

get that whole tree completely gold

before moving on and learning new lessons.

I have found that that's a really effective way

for me to do it.

So, I'm sure I could come up with more things to say

but this video is already long enough.

I hope you've found this helpful.

I'd love to hear from you:

do you agree with this?

Do you disagree maybe?

Are there any other tips that you can think of

of ways that you think you can get the most

out of DuoLingo?

I'd love to hear from you!

Yeah!

Thank you!

Measuring a Teacher's Impact | Teacher Appreciation 2017 - Duration: 3:27.

Scott (teacher): "All right, let's sing a little bit!"

It's a question we all ask from time to time.

Scott: "Moooo meee maaayy..."

Years from now, will I have made a difference?

(Classroom warms up vocals)

Vocal music director Scott Shively hears a kind of difference in every warm up.

(Classroom continues to warm up)

Scott: "We work at such a high level here and the kids are so dedicated and so talented..."

(Classroom sings)

...and so committed to chasing their big stage, bright light dreams.

(Classroom sings)

"Good! You have to wait for the strong beats.

Two, three, four, five..."

Shively's taught at Denver School of the Arts for nearly 20 years and knows a thing

about music theory.

(Classroom sings)

Then, there's his other theory:

Scott: "I have told my students many times, I said, 'Whatever part of music you're in

in your life, you're always going to be a teacher.'"

Maybe not a literal teacher...

(Classroom sings): "The three piggy opera..."

Or, maybe!

"Clap clap clap clap... everybody will sit down..."

Brendan Doyle teaches first grade at Cory Elementary.

"I knew one day that you'd be big!"

Brendan: "If I can create an environment where kids are enjoying what they're doing and having

fun while they're here, then I feel like I've done my job."

"Delicious nutritious garbage stew!

Excellent!"

Where does a teacher's drive blossom?

You look back on life.

Brendan: "I'd say, my freshman year I started to have some issues both away from school,

there was a lot of family stuff going on, I was hanging out with the wrong people...

(I) really started to make a lot of poor personal life choices."

And you look back on who was there.

Brendan: "The first time that I really thought, 'Oh!

I want to be a teacher!" was probably in high school when I first met Mr. Shively."

Yes...

(Scott laughs)

...that same Mr. Shively, who shared not a life-changing vocal lesson or conversation,

but simply belief.

Scott: "One of the things that I know both he and I remember very well is that in the

spring, we put on an annual pop show."

Brendan: "My senior year, I ended up actually assistant directing."

"And it was a massive production."

"I started to really see myself as being somebody that could work with kids and that was interested

in impacting youth, especially in regards to performing arts."

Scott: "He made some really, really strong marks on that pop show."

"And I don't think that, maybe he even realized at that point how impactful just being there

was for me."

As Denver Public Schools celebrates teacher appreciation, one DPS educator shares his

thanks for another who changed his life some 19 years ago.

Brendan: "See, he gave me my livelihood without even realizing that he would have such an

impact to create my passion in life."

(Singing)

Shively doesn't ever have to ask if he made a difference.

He has proof:

"I don't know if it's even possible to verbalize how indebted I feel to you for the impact

that you had in my life.

So thank you for that."

"Thank you!

Mwah!" (laughs)

Scott: "And to hear that from a student as special as Brendan, it's... it's... it makes

it worth it."

Message of Pope Francis to the Portuguese People ahead of his Visit to Fatima 10 May 2017 HD - Duration: 4:15.

Dear Portuguese people!

There are only a few days left for me and my pilgrimage to Our Lady of Fatima, living them

in happy expectation of our meeting in the Mother's house.

I know that you wanted me also in your homes and communities, in your villages and

cities: the invitation reached me!

Needless to say that I would have liked to accept, but I am unable to!

I thank you for your understanding that the various authorities welcomed my

decision to limit the visit to the moments and pilgrimage own actions in the Shrine

of Fatima, marking a meeting with you all at the feet of the Virgin Mother.

In fact, it is the vestments of Supreme Shepherd I stand before her, offering her

the bouquet of the most beautiful "flowers" that Jesus entrusted to my care (cf.

Jn 21: 15-17), that is, the brothers and sisters of the world redeemed by His blood,

without excluding anyone.

You see?

I need you to be with me; I need your union (physical or spiritual, important

that it be with the heart) to my bouquet flowers, and my 'Golden Rose'.

Us forming "one heart and one soul "(cf.

At 4, 32), giving all to Our Lady, asking her to whisper to each: "My

Immaculate Heart will be your refuge and the path that will lead you to God "(Apparition

June 1917).

"With Mary, I embark on pilgrimage of hope and peace ": so reads the motto of our pilgrimage,

with it all being program of conversion.

For this blessed moment that culminates one centenary of blessed moments, I am pleased

know who are preparing with intense prayer.

This widens our hearts and prepares it to receive the gifts of God.

I thank you for the prayers and sacrifices every day they offer for me and that

I very much need, for I am a sinner among sinners, "A man of unclean lips, inhabiting

in the midst of a people of unclean lips "(Is 6, 5).

Prayer illuminates my eyes to know see others as God sees them, to love

others as He loves them.

In your name, I come to you in joy share with you the Gospel of hope

and peace.

May the Lord bless you and the Virgin Mother protect you!

Life creation, life extension and alternative life forms - Duration: 47:21.

Robbert Dijkgraaf is Head of the Institute for Advanced Study in the US.

Once home to Albert Einstein.

Dijkgraaf lives on the campus of this sanctuary of science.

He will introduce us to scientists who have dedicated their lives to the future.

Thinkers, dreamers, explorers, creators, researchers.

Their knowledge is spreading across a global network.

What will happen when we connect all that knowledge?

Does it make us the thinking part of the universe?

The mind of the universe?

When I was a child I was fascinated by the richness of life.

All those animals, planets, the natural forces, the universe.

It's so overwhelming that it's hard to imagine...

...that it suddenly just appeared.

Maybe that's the reason people believe in a single creator.

Our insatiable hunger for knowledge and understanding of the world...

...makes us the controllers of nature.

When Robert Oppenheimer understood destructive force...

...of his own creation, the atom bomb...

...he quoted the religious text of Hinduism: The Bhagavad Gita.

We try to control nature and become the creators...

...but perhaps also the destroyers of own future.

Life is all around us. But how did this life come about?

We only know one type of life, based on cells, made of protein and fats...

...which are mainly comprised of carbon.

But aren't there more ways to create life?

That's what Lee Cronin wonders.

Lee Cronin built an extraordinary machine in his lab in Glasgow.

This robot mixes different substances 24 hours a day.

By constantly monitoring which substances bond...

...and create new, complex molecules...

...Cronin hopes to discover the ingredients for new life forms.

One molecule doesn't do very much on its own.

One molecule of water isn't wet, doesn't have a boiling point.

Chemist and Nobel Prize winner Jean-Marie Lehn...

...once spoke of molecular sociology.

Molecules acquire their properties when combined together.

Life is extremely powerful...

...because it organises, maintains and even repairs itself.

Every organism eventually degenerates.

Ageing is degenerating on a cellular level.

Our body continues to renew itself because some cells in the body...

...that haven't deteriorated: stem cells.

These stem cells can regenerate new, young cells.

Even entire organs.

This is a biobank.

They're all freezers, minus seventy degrees...

...where human cells can be kept forever.

They're in there.

Geneticist Hans Clevers knows how to programme stem cells in his lab...

...so they grow and form miniature organs: organoids.

His objective is to recreate damaged organs.

This lab, let me open the door...

...is dedicated to growing human tissue, the miniature organs.

It's done in a sterile environment, hence the white coats. The organoids.

Can you see them? - Yes, you can.

I don't know if can now, shall we go in?

Who can show us an organoid?

Have you got something we can show on a microscope and screen?

I'm sure that, not within this generation but the next one...

...we'll find out exactly how our body builds and maintains itself.

That means that we will be able to repair any organ...

...subject to a loss of function or disease...

Probably with our own cells.

For every disease outside your body on your own cells...

...we can determine what the best medicine is.

Eventually we'll be able to optimize every genetic code of every individual.

So you can alter genetic diseases at the drawing board.

A sort of modern petri dish, twelve petri dishes put together.

You can put up to 1500 of them on a tray.

They contain medium, the growth substances:

Amino acids, fats, carbohydrates, vitamins...

...and the growth factors we add.

Here you can see these little organs.

They're like blisters of cells that grow to a certain point...

...which we then break into little pieces which then grow again.

You do that once a week, right?

These are ant kidneys. - Yes, that's right.

Kidneys are so complex that we have to grow separate components.

If we bring them together I predict, given how nature is...

...that a kidney will spontaneously form.

These are miniature livers which we're scanning.

An miniature liver is a 3D object, it has three dimensions.

You can scan it slice by slice with a laser.

You can make every level different colours.

He's using green, blue and red.

This looks very realistic. It seems to have grown into an actual liver.

We think that we won't need entire organ transplants.

But that you take a small piece of tissue from a living donor and grow that.

Then when someone is in need of a liver...

...and the infrastructure of liver is intact but the cells are sick...

...in theory you could inject some stem cells, from the freezer...

...from a living, volunteer donor.

The stem cell then repairs the liver.

We can do this with mice. Testing it on people is more complicated.

But the principle exists.

We've successfully transplanted new organs in mice.

It's even possible with humans, but isn't allowed yet.

More research is needed.

But it's possible. And if something is possible, it usually happens.

In the last few years a revolution is taking place in DNA research.

We can not only read the genetic code of life...

...we are able to rewrite the structure of life.

Nobody predicted the infinite possibilities of this knowledge...

...when DNA was first discovered in 1953.

George Church is one of the most important DNA researchers.

He's a professor at Harvard Medical School in Boston.

He explains the spectacular possibilities of this new technology.

George Church initiated the Personal Genome Project.

The aim is to create a public data base...

...of as many genetic profiles as possible.

A data base that allows people to enter their genetic information...

...and which is accessible to everyone.

But the concept of making your DNA code public is controversial.

It is clearly evidence that we can create our own future.

Knowledge and fantasy go hand in hand.

Take the sci-fi author Arthur C. Clarke's ideas, for instance...

...to send satellites into orbit...

...that could serve as antennas for communication.

The atom bomb and the internet also first appeared as literary fantasy.

Everything we can conceive, happens.

Our creativity leads to a creative urge...

...and an irresistible need to transform an idea into reality.

That certainly applies to Lee Cronin. He wants to create new life.

He wants to act quickly. A new idea every day.

Exhaust the brains of his co-workers and if that's not enough...

...use artificial intelligence.

Enable robots to discover interesting new life molecules.

Create different life forms faster than nature has.

People working together to create artificial life.

Molecular sociology, human sociology.

Science and technology are speeding up the evolution of nature.

It took nature billions of years. Science is only a few centuries old.

Our creativity, our brain, our mind...

...are all part of the creating force of nature.

Science dissects reality into elementary building blocks.

That way, we can create new combinations.

And perhaps new life forms.

Here are our endless rows of aquariums.

All these fish have been genetically mutated.

They've added a colour, or disabled a gene.

Fish are interesting in terms of brain development.

The brains of zebrafish are similar to ours. Heart and blood vessels.

The advantage they have over mice, for instance...

...is that zebrafish lay eggs, and in that egg the fish develops from scratch.

So under a microscope you can see, miraculously...

...the development of a fertilized egg into an embryo over five or six days...

...which can already hunt bacteria and water flees five days later.

You can see all that happening.

Clevers' lab is covered with large colourful pictures of cells and organoids.

Greatly magnified, they look like abstract art works.

This is aboriginal art.

Originally this was what they call a Dreaming.

An integration of maps and symbolism, and of past events.

They've been making and passing them on for centuries.

I'll show you some other ones.. This one is very simple.

I became interested in aboriginal art four or five years ago.

I started to learn more about it and realised...

...it's actually the same as what I do during the day.

In 2D, my brains form all sorts of associations...

...and all sorts of patterns emerge.

You wonder: Have I seen it before? What does it resemble?

How does it relate to the rest of the painting or the rest of the tissue?

So I find myself using the same associative processes...

...and creative processes. It's very similar.

The essence is the discovery.

The insight to see something no one has ever seen before.

You need to conjure up the pictures and immediately ask yourself:

Is that really a pattern or is it something I've made up, a coincidence?

What's fascinating about Aboriginal culture is there's no written language.

There are lots of different languages. It's the oldest culture: 40,000 years.

In all that time there have been lots of creation stories, ritual stories...

...and symbols used to preserve the history and culture of the tribe.

So this is like DNA, in the way that it passes on information...

...from generation to generation.

In this case it is the spoken language and the symbolism they always had.

It's the DNA of the people.

Artists and scientists are obsessed...

...with human beings, our environment, the world.

They pose questions and provide answers, they explore the world.

I think that 90 percent of that process runs parallel.

The difference, and I'm jealous of this, is that the artist then creates a product...

...that has never existed before, which might take any form.

Whereas our product is a correct description...

...of what the planet has produced after a billion years of evolution.

So we are restricted. We can be very creative...

...but ultimately, we're restricted to what is true, and not what could be true.

That's the big difference between art and science.

Looking at what's true, not what could be true.

There's always that limitation. The restriction of reality.

We have to obey the natural laws.

But the better we understand nature the more we can control it.

Nature isn't always perfect.

There are deadly diseases, congenital defects.

We now have a very powerful technique to possibly restore those defects.

A technique that enables us to alter DNA.

Like editing a text on a computer.

You can cut out the defects and paste in the right piece of DNA.

You can even make a better version.

Church developed this new technique only four years ago.

Whereas Clevers works and experiments with existing DNA...

...George Church can change and improve DNA in any possible way.

This new technology is called CRISPR.

Simply put, this means that a faulty gene can be replaced with a healthy gene.

You can even write completely new DNA code.

We don't know how we get ideas exactly.

We often don't use our brain consciously.

Einstein once said: Imagination is more important that knowledge.

Knowledge is restricted to what we know and understand.

Imagination encompasses the whole world.

Without imagination, there's no creativity and no creation.

We're mostly made of carbon, the basis for life as we know it.

But is it really necessary?

Lee Cronin doesn't believe so.

He believes life could be created with other molecules.

If his machines work hard enough, we must be able to discover new life.

A search engine for living molecules?

A system that can print any molecule anywhere in the world?

This sounds a lot like the New Creation.

Or have we discovered something...

...that has already taken place elsewhere in the universe?

Maybe none of this is new.

Our brain is part of nature.

Our technology and discoveries are all part of the universe...

...which is constantly developing and expanding.

We're using our knowledge to push the boundaries of life even further.

I'm convinced that we're built to last 80 or 90 years.

That's enough to help bring our children and grandchildren into the world.

But then we leave the stage and allow evolution to take place...

...which means that the generations that have been selected have to disappear.

We're not built to last more than 80 or 90 years.

Our stem cells are normally enough to repair our organs during that time.

But eventually they start making mistakes and we all face cancer.

I'm certain we will eventually understand everything about nature...

...and can simulate and change that.

We're learning more and more...

...but there's no complexity that we can't grasp with our minds.

Experiments are carried out where human stem cells are injected...

...in a mouse embryo or pig embryo.

One thing we're pushing for, and which is supported by governments..

...is if you are diabetic and you need a new pancreas...

...it's theoretically possible, and experiments are being done...

...to have a pig farm with pigs that can't make a pancreas themselves...

...but that have been given human stem cells at conception...

...so that these pigs have a human pancreas.

Plus more human cells here and there, but the whole pancreas is human.

There are visions, and they're working on this in Japan and Spain...

...to have pig farms with pancreases for people with type 1 diabetes.

Literally harvesting organs.

What does that mean?

Medically speaking it means you can keep people healthy for longer.

If you start wondering who we are...

...I believe it's what's in my head: my mind.

Other than that, there's nothing unique about me.

My DNA code is.

But everything about my body is replaceable...

...as long as I know how to do that, and we know for an important part.

It sounds like you're studying the code of life.

Yes, and I also think it slightly blurs the boundaries of the individual.

It's not surprising that these experiments lead to ethical debates.

Replacing body parts.

Like maintaining a house properly and replace parts of it when necessary.

Is this the way to keep people alive longer?

Is this the path to immortality?

George Church is also trying to discover the fountain of eternal youth.

With this developing technology we could stop the ageing process...

...and even start rejuvenating.

We create our own future by using our knowledge.

Through science and technology we can make new molecules.

New life. A new version of ourselves.

Like evolution has always done, but faster.

Differently. Perhaps better.

We do this together, through the eyes of others.

We use their experiences, their knowledge...

...and use it to feed our imagination.

We choose what we create or not.

That is the mind of the universe.

Angola é Nossa - Portuguese Marching Song [With Lyrics] - Duration: 2:03.

Angola is ours, Angola is ours.

Angola is ours, Angola is ours.

Angola is ours, Angola is ours.

Angola is ours, Angola is ours.

Angola is ours, Angola is ours.

Angola is ours.

Oh, heroic Portuguese people, In a stoic effort once again,

You have to fight, to win, To crush the vile betrayal.

To triumph, having reason, Is what gives you valor.

Angola is ours, I shall shout! It's flesh, it's blood of our nation!

Without hesitating, to defend, And to fight until we win!

Angola is ours, I shall shout! It's flesh, it's blood of our nation!

Without hesitating, to defend, And to fight until we win!

To the traitors, Punish,

With an ancestral fearlessness, To detain, to mangle,

To win, to chase out, And yell:

Angola is ours, Angola is ours, it's ours!

It's ours! Angola is Portugal!
