Hello! Welcome to Fabbi Lee

How are you? I hope you are well, I am happy to be here with you

As you can see the title of the video, today I am going to teach you how to make KPOP GROUP GLOVES

They are super nice, very cheap and also cheap.

These are from here, and I made them from BTS because I really like it

Because BTS is one of my favorite groups.

But you can do it from the group you want, this is just a demonstration

This is how they are put, they are super cute and in winter I will use them more often

Because they are super comfortable and very hot

I hope you like it a lot and LET'S START!

Materials:

FABRICS, black and white.

Fabric glue

Pins and Scissors

Black thread

You are going to download the template that is in the description box of the video

If you want you can draw it, it's not so difficult

Keep in mind that the template should be the exact size of our hand

Extend the black fabric, fold it in two

Above, place the template and mark its full outline

This step you will do it twice

Put pins

And cut adding to the edges 1cm

That will serve for sewing

It is very important that they add 1cm because if they do not the glove will be very small

Now you're going to sew what I'm indicating

After sewing you will remove the pins

And at the top, you're going to fold 1/2 cm inward, as I show you

Hold it with the pins

This way I should stay

And repeat the same here, fold 1/2 cm inwards

Since you have it that way, you're going to sew it

But if you want you can stick it with the fabric glue

After sewing, remove the pins

And this would be the result

I really like it as it shows sewn

At the bottom you will do the same, fold 1/2 cm inwards

And you also have to sew it, but if you want you can stick it with fabric glue

After sewing, turn it over

And we will have the gloves ready

Now you are going to cut the logo of your kpop group on the white cloth, you will do it 2 times. In my case I did BTS

The next thing is to stick the logo on the glove, just like I put it

Do not worry about white lint as it can be taken out.

Grasp a piece of masking tape and pass it over the glove, this way

And you already have the gloves clean

As decoration you can add screws or tacks

And on the top you'll hit it

We let it dry for a moment

And ready! Finished

If You Want to Get into Hard Sci Fi - Watch These 8 Movies - Duration: 6:23.

While many people associate science fiction with Star Wars and the Star

Trek reboot- today I thought I would make a video -focusing on the less

well known, Hard science fiction.

This�is a category of�sc-ifi�characterised by an emphasis on scientific

accuracy, rather than action & explosions.

Mind you that doesn�t mean Hard Sci-fi doesn�t have its fair share of drama.

- it does like to focus on the real world, but from the perspective of

beyond the status quo.

- Moon directed by Duncan Jones tells the story of Astronaut Sam Bell

- the only inhabitant of an automated mining base, who's close to the end

of his three-year shift on the moon.

Sam Rockwell plays Sam, who's only social company is his colleague - a

robot called GERTY who's voiced by Kevin Spacey.

- Rockwell carries this film, not because he's the only person in the movie,

but due to his convincing performance combined with Spacey�s monotone

voice acting.

Moon is one of those movies that gets under your skin, where the drama is

very realistic, and it's filled with tonnes of anger, depression and hope.

Andrew Niccol�s Drama Thriller Gattaca.

Set where genetic engineering is

the most common form of childbirth.

Where the rich can obtain massive

advantages for their off-spring.

- Ethan Hawke's character Vincent is a naturally born man, who society

deems as a second class citizen.

The story Kicks off when Vincent, who

dreams of working within space exploration switches identity with Jerome a

disabled valid played by Jude law, in an attempt to become an astronaut.

This is one of Ethan Hawke's strongest performances- as a man who relies

on sheer willpower to achieve his goals.

And Jude Law is fantastic as an unhappy man who doesn't quite fit in the

society he's born into.

Gattaca deals with sci-fi and the future in the best possible way, by

exploring ideas.

- It's stylish, thought-provoking, and foregoes special

effects to focus on story and character development.

Stanley Kubrick�s mind-bending epic - 2001: A Space Odyssey.

Set in two specific time periods, one preistoric, one futuristic-The film

focus on humanitys discovery of a mysterious artificial object buried

beneath the moon surface.

When the point of origin is confirmed as Jupiter,

an expedition is sent in hopes of finding the source of this mysterious

object.

- While the human cast aren't that memorable, never has a machine held

such a chilling screen presence as HAL 9000.

2001 A Space Odyssey is NOT character driven- it's all in the experience.

- Kubrick created a film that requires you to relax and witness strange but

beaufiul images.

So if you don�t find that type of movie entertaining, then I

would strongly not reccomend this.

Jack Schreier's comedy Robot & Frank - Set in the near future, a retired

jewel thief has two grown children who are concerned he can no longer live

alone.

-Instead of a nursing home Franks son buys him a robot butler programmed

to look after him.

But Frank soon learns that this new companion could

become a useful aide.

This movie is all about the characters, staying fun the whole way

throughout.

Where Frank Langella is great playing Frank - who tries to

restart his old profession, and of course Peter Sarsgaard who's voice acting

fits the robot perfectly.

While not intended to be a Sci-fi - Frank & Robot is funny and sad in equal

measure as it explores the depth of the human soul, while taking you

through a story - that is both original and very well written.

The Martian Directed by Riddly Scott is based on the novel of the same

name by Andy Weir.

- During a manned mission to Mars, Matt Damon's

character Astronaut Mark Watney becomes stranded after a fierce storm

and is presumed dead.

But Watney somehow survives - and with only a

minor amount of supplies, must rely on his ingenuity, to find a way to signal

to Earth, that he�s still alive.

Matt Damon is perfectly cast as the wisecracking astronaut

- where it's his optimism toward his survival that keeps you invested in the

story.

The Martian makes a great effort at interjecting real science into drama,

it's fun smart movie, with great direction and production- it never leaves

you bored and should be enjoyed by any fan of Sci-fi.

Alex Garlands stylish directional debut - Ex Machina stars Domhnall Gleeson

as Caleb Smith, a young programmer at internet-search giant BlueBook.

- who is selected to participate in a ground-breaking experiment in

synthetic intelligence at the estate of the company's CEO, Nathan Bateman

played by Oscar Isaac.

Alicia Vikander's performance as Ava the beautiful and seductive android is

so good, that I almost forgot she wasn't an AI.

Gleeson & Isaac also have

very realistic and solid performances in their respective roles.

Ex Machina has a simple plot dealing with a deeply complex and

philosophical topic: what makes humans human.

The movie is thoroughly

engaging and strikes the perfect balance of not spoon feeding it's audience

and not being too intellectual.

The Andromeda strain- directed by Robert Wise is based on Michael

Crichton's novel of the same name.

After the people of a small Arizona town are wiped out by some form of

unknown contagion emitted from a crashed satellite.

The American

government forms a team of scientists to eliminate this threat before it

spreads nationwide.

The cast in this movie really do feel like were born to play their roles -

where you could easily believe that they are actual scientists, especially

Arthur Hill the leader of the research team.

The science in the Andromeda

Strain is accurate - In fact, it's the probably most accurate of all the Sci-Fi

movies I've seen.

One of the great things about the film is it's tight pacing.

So many movies

of these type lag on, especially at the beginning.

However, in the

Andromeda Strain, even the first scene is dramatic and holds your

attention.

Contact directed by Robert Zameckis � is a faithul adaptation of Carl

Sagan�s novel of the same name-

- Where Astronomer Dr. Ellie Arroway, has long been interested in contact

to faraway lands.

After years of searching, and being mocked by the

science community she finds conclusive radio proof of intelligent life, who

send her team a mysterious plan to build a large machine.

Jodie foster playing Dr Arroway is exceptional where she delivers a

character with high intellect and strong feelings alongside an impressive

script and supporting cast.

The movie covers the what ifs on private enterprise vs. government

interests, and the conflicts, and potential common ground, between

scientific and religious points of view.

Contact is a pretty refreshingly different film - with great acting, directing

and sound design.

I Eat Wholey Cheese Crackers! - I Eat Snacks #3 - Gluten Free! - Duration: 5:44.

Hey Snackies! Welcome to a "cheesy" episode

of ieatsnacks.com video taste tests

with me, Neon Starlight, your cheesemonger snackmaster,

and today, I am trying some new gluten-free

cheese snacks called "Wholey Cheese!"

They even look like little pieces of cheese.

I'm so excited right now.

I've got smoked gouda -

or "how-da," as they say in the Netherlands,

and mild cheddar. They also had

a couple other flavors at the store -

or at least one more - that was some kind of

Swiss and pepper, but it sounded weird,

so I didn't get it... even though I'm

all about weird. I should have got it.

Whatever, another snack, another day.

So these are gluten-free, which is really exciting,

because even though I eat gluten on the show

all the time, I actually don't really

eat gluten very much in my regular life

because it makes really sad things happen...

in my butt...

and other places...

So...yay! Snacks that don't make my butt weird!

I'm going to try the mild cheddar first

because I'm actually more excited for the gouda, so...

I'm going to do that one last.

Oh, this has a tear strip.

So convenient!

Womp-womp.

*grunts in frustration*

These are made by Snyder's of Hanover

that make all the pretzels and stuff.

They have gluten-free pretzels that are really good.

Oh my god, these looks amazing!

Oh my god, they smell like feet,

which is all you could ever ask for

in cheese snacks. Look at them!

They're like little poofy babies! Look! Oh my gosh!

Oh my--Look at the poofy babies!

Ah! I'm so excited right now!

I don't know if you know this, Snackies,

probably not, but cheese snacks

are my number one favorite kind of snacks

in he whole wide world, and I eat them every day.

These look like

little poofy pieces of cheese,

and I'm just going to stop talking and eat it.

*explosion noise*

Oh my gosh, these are so good!

I love gluten-free crackers! I never get crackers.

Since they're gluten-free,

I think these are mostly potatoes starch.

Yeah, these are mostly potato starch,

so they're really light. They just kind of

poof and dissolve in your mouth,

but they have a really good crunch.

The cheese taste is really good.

This kind of tastes like - if y'all are gluten-free cracker

kind of people - Van's I believe,

makes some gluten-free

Cheese-It knock-off things

and this tastes a lot like those.

These are so good!

They're buttery, and cheesy,

and they're so good.

Yeah, approved! Like, wooo!

If i was a whole school of octopi, I'd give tentacles up.

Alright, so I'm assuming these ones

are going to be even more amazing

because smokey cheese is on a whole other level.

I feel like there really aren't enough

smokey cheese snacks, so this is exciting.

You know it's going to be really good

because the tear strip worked.

Wait...no it didn't. Look at this!

It tore, but the tear strip is above the line.

Maybe if I write them, they'll send me some for free

if I complain about their packaging.

I'll tell them how good their snacks are.

Because you what kind of snacks

are really the best? Free snacks.

Smokey feet! So good!

These ones look like the other ones,

except for they're a little lighter in color.

You can see the cheddar more

orange-y and these are more white.

Otherwise, they pretty much look the same.

Oh my god.

These are so good!

Holy crap! It's just like eating

crunchy smoked cheese. They're salty,

they're so smokey and crunchy.

Oh my god, I want to marry these chips.

I'm sorry, I love you. We can have a

poly relationship with these.

I think after you taste them.

Get these crackers, even if you aren't

They taste like potato chips. They're so good.

and I wanna talk about some thing I'm hating in the beauty world recently, too

This is the usual Maquillalia box

In the past I bought a mini size of the Batiste shampoo

so now I wanna try the full size!

I don't use them much

I prefer to wash my hair with water!

But it may be helpful in some circumstances

I'm loving this rainbow highlighter by I Heart Makeup

They combined five colours: light pink, light blue, subtle green, light yellow and light violet

or apply them individually

I used it today and I think it's so affordable and breathtaking!

Anyway, I wanna talk about Nyx Face Awards

This year there have been no great controversy

Last year was the first year of Nyx in Italy

There was great hype for this contest

Last year there were some ugly work in the Top20, you know

while this year almost all the work was done well

This is "Banana Dreams" talc powder

it's good for the baaking, as I do today!

But I'll talk to you better in the future

I made this order because I had finished the mascara

I buy the "Lash Princess" by Essence

I love the formula, in my opinion it's better than the I love Extreme

It work fine for me :)

Anyway, about Nyx Face Awards...

I think the works in the Top20 are technically awesome

I don't understand why some of the guys in the Top20

are already part of the Nyx Incubator project

But I do not want to talk about this now

Often there is not even the tutorial

in fact, a video without a tutorial has passed

Is this a makeup contest or a art contest?

This video is a really good video, no doubt

but not a makeup contest video!

because there isn't a tutorial, there arent't makeup products...there isn't a real makeup!

I am very disappointed

for some reasons

Honestly, it annoyed me that they did not publish the winners

As you can see the title of the video, today I am going to teach you how to make KPOP GROUP GLOVES

They are super nice, very cheap and also cheap.

These are from here, and I made them from BTS because I really like it

Because BTS is one of my favorite groups.

You are going to download the template that is in the description box of the video

Extend the black fabric, fold it in two

Above, place the template and mark its full outline

This step you will do it twice

Put pins

And cut adding to the edges 1cm

That will serve for sewing

It is very important that they add 1cm because if they do not the glove will be very small

Now you're going to sew what I'm indicating

After sewing you will remove the pins

And at the top, you're going to fold 1/2 cm inward, as I show you

Hold it with the pins

This way I should stay

And repeat the same here, fold 1/2 cm inwards

But if you want you can stick it with the fabric glue

After sewing, remove the pins

If You Want to Get into Hard Sci Fi - Watch These 8 Movies - Duration: 6:23.

While many people associate science fiction with Star Wars and the Star

Trek reboot- today I thought I would make a video -focusing on the less

well known, Hard science fiction.

This�is a category of�sc-ifi�characterised by an emphasis on scientific

accuracy, rather than action & explosions.

Mind you that doesn�t mean Hard Sci-fi doesn�t have its fair share of drama.

- it does like to focus on the real world, but from the perspective of

beyond the status quo.

- Moon directed by Duncan Jones tells the story of Astronaut Sam Bell

- the only inhabitant of an automated mining base, who's close to the end

of his three-year shift on the moon.

Sam Rockwell plays Sam, who's only social company is his colleague - a

robot called GERTY who's voiced by Kevin Spacey.

- Rockwell carries this film, not because he's the only person in the movie,

but due to his convincing performance combined with Spacey�s monotone

voice acting.

Moon is one of those movies that gets under your skin, where the drama is

very realistic, and it's filled with tonnes of anger, depression and hope.

Andrew Niccol�s Drama Thriller Gattaca.

Set where genetic engineering is

the most common form of childbirth.

Where the rich can obtain massive

advantages for their off-spring.

- Ethan Hawke's character Vincent is a naturally born man, who society

deems as a second class citizen.

The story Kicks off when Vincent, who

dreams of working within space exploration switches identity with Jerome a

disabled valid played by Jude law, in an attempt to become an astronaut.

This is one of Ethan Hawke's strongest performances- as a man who relies

on sheer willpower to achieve his goals.

And Jude Law is fantastic as an unhappy man who doesn't quite fit in the

society he's born into.

Gattaca deals with sci-fi and the future in the best possible way, by

exploring ideas.

- It's stylish, thought-provoking, and foregoes special

effects to focus on story and character development.

Stanley Kubrick�s mind-bending epic - 2001: A Space Odyssey.

Set in two specific time periods, one preistoric, one futuristic-The film

focus on humanitys discovery of a mysterious artificial object buried

beneath the moon surface.

When the point of origin is confirmed as Jupiter,

an expedition is sent in hopes of finding the source of this mysterious

object.

- While the human cast aren't that memorable, never has a machine held

such a chilling screen presence as HAL 9000.

2001 A Space Odyssey is NOT character driven- it's all in the experience.

- Kubrick created a film that requires you to relax and witness strange but

beaufiul images.

So if you don�t find that type of movie entertaining, then I

would strongly not reccomend this.

Jack Schreier's comedy Robot & Frank - Set in the near future, a retired

jewel thief has two grown children who are concerned he can no longer live

alone.

-Instead of a nursing home Franks son buys him a robot butler programmed

to look after him.

But Frank soon learns that this new companion could

become a useful aide.

This movie is all about the characters, staying fun the whole way

throughout.

Where Frank Langella is great playing Frank - who tries to

restart his old profession, and of course Peter Sarsgaard who's voice acting

fits the robot perfectly.

While not intended to be a Sci-fi - Frank & Robot is funny and sad in equal

measure as it explores the depth of the human soul, while taking you

through a story - that is both original and very well written.

The Martian Directed by Riddly Scott is based on the novel of the same

name by Andy Weir.

- During a manned mission to Mars, Matt Damon's

character Astronaut Mark Watney becomes stranded after a fierce storm

and is presumed dead.

But Watney somehow survives - and with only a

minor amount of supplies, must rely on his ingenuity, to find a way to signal

to Earth, that he�s still alive.

Matt Damon is perfectly cast as the wisecracking astronaut

- where it's his optimism toward his survival that keeps you invested in the

story.

The Martian makes a great effort at interjecting real science into drama,

it's fun smart movie, with great direction and production- it never leaves

you bored and should be enjoyed by any fan of Sci-fi.

Alex Garlands stylish directional debut - Ex Machina stars Domhnall Gleeson

as Caleb Smith, a young programmer at internet-search giant BlueBook.

- who is selected to participate in a ground-breaking experiment in

synthetic intelligence at the estate of the company's CEO, Nathan Bateman

played by Oscar Isaac.

Alicia Vikander's performance as Ava the beautiful and seductive android is

so good, that I almost forgot she wasn't an AI.

Gleeson & Isaac also have

very realistic and solid performances in their respective roles.

Ex Machina has a simple plot dealing with a deeply complex and

philosophical topic: what makes humans human.

The movie is thoroughly

engaging and strikes the perfect balance of not spoon feeding it's audience

and not being too intellectual.

The Andromeda strain- directed by Robert Wise is based on Michael

Crichton's novel of the same name.

After the people of a small Arizona town are wiped out by some form of

unknown contagion emitted from a crashed satellite.

The American

government forms a team of scientists to eliminate this threat before it

spreads nationwide.

The cast in this movie really do feel like were born to play their roles -

where you could easily believe that they are actual scientists, especially

Arthur Hill the leader of the research team.

The science in the Andromeda

Strain is accurate - In fact, it's the probably most accurate of all the Sci-Fi

movies I've seen.

One of the great things about the film is it's tight pacing.

So many movies

of these type lag on, especially at the beginning.

However, in the

Andromeda Strain, even the first scene is dramatic and holds your

attention.

Contact directed by Robert Zameckis � is a faithul adaptation of Carl

Sagan�s novel of the same name-

- Where Astronomer Dr. Ellie Arroway, has long been interested in contact

to faraway lands.

After years of searching, and being mocked by the

science community she finds conclusive radio proof of intelligent life, who

send her team a mysterious plan to build a large machine.

Jodie foster playing Dr Arroway is exceptional where she delivers a

character with high intellect and strong feelings alongside an impressive

script and supporting cast.

The movie covers the what ifs on private enterprise vs. government

interests, and the conflicts, and potential common ground, between

scientific and religious points of view.

Contact is a pretty refreshingly different film - with great acting, directing

and sound design.

MMSpace: Multimodal Meeting Space Embodied by Kinetic Telepresence - Duration: 3:27.

When face-to-face, people exchange rich nonverbal messages using gaze, facial expressions, and gestures.

To seek out the key to similar communication among remote people,

we propose MMSpace, an experimental platform for communication science.

MMSpace is targeted for small group-to-group telepresence.

It aims to enhance nonverbal communication using a kinetic avatar that can precisely

reproduce human head motions, and it integrates a mechanism that allows

conversation participants to make eye contact with remote partners.

For multiparty conversations among separated people, MMSpace constructs symmetric

conversation spaces across sites.

Participants are represented as avatars situated in the same relative positions

at a remote site.

Thus, remote people can naturally participate in multiparty conversations, as if face-to-face.

The avatar is a flat screen panel that shows the remote user's face.

The pose and position of the panel is changed by automatically mirroring the user's head motion.

Dynamic projection mapping to the semi-transparent panel creates the impression that

a remote person is floating in the air just in front of you.

For the avatar's eyes, multiple cameras are placed behind the panel

to capture a target person from the avatar's viewpoint.

When a person turns to speak to an avatar, this avatar's camera is selected to capture

the face of the person speaking straight to them.

Welcome to my tutorial on how to

make this perfectly delightful

heart-shaped card for Mother's Day.

Sadly, my own mother is dead,

but if yours is still alive and well, then I'm sure

she'll just adore this lovely handmade craft!

Let's get started, shall we?

To make this card you'll need the following items:

One standard size 8 and 1/2 by 11 inch

piece of pink cardstock.

One standard size 8 and 1/2 by 11 inch

piece of white cardstock.

One glue stick.

One metallic silver marker.

One pair of scissors.

And of course our favorite

crafting tool: a standard 12 inch clear plastic ruler.

To begin take your piece

of pink cardstock and fold it in half

like so, ensuring that the corners are

lined up precisely.

Now, you really don't want to rush this step.

There we are. Now...

Oh! See, now I see I'm just

slightly off on that corner there, but,

no matter, I'll just discard this piece in

the recycling bin.

So, we take another piece of pink cardstock,

fold it in half, just lined up perfectly,

THERE we are, THAT'S what we're looking for!

Now you're going to want to get

a good crease along this edge here so

that your card can open and close easily.

What I like to do is take the tips of my

freshly manicured nails and just really

get in there and get a good sharp crease.

There we go!

uh, Oh.

Well now I see that

unfortunately my nail has left a small

mark on the card.

Ah, well, no matter.

No one will ever even see that mark because,

of course, I'm going to throw this piece

in the bin, too.

Hopefully the third time's

Key Point One.

Know what you control.

Know what is within your control.

Here is a list of ten things you control.

Ill go over the top three.

After that hit pause and read the rest of this list.

Number 1, Effort!

First and Foremost you can control your effort and always have a high work ethic.

Number 2, Attitude!

Take ownership of your attitude and make a habit of having a great one.

Number 3, Preparation!

Be diligent about being as prepared as possible.

This includes mental preparation in addition to the physical and technical preparation.

Key Point Two.

Know what you cant control.

The same as you should know what you can control, you should also know what you cant control.

Here is a list of ten things you cant control.

Ill go over the top three.

Number 1, number of Goals.

While there are things within your control you can do to improve the likelihood of scoring,

you cant be fully in control of your stats.

Dont focus on stats!

Number 2, The Referees.

So many players get themselves out of their game by complaining about a referees call.

When a referee makes a mistake, let it go!

Number 3, What Others Think.

Dont focus on what others think of you!

You play to be your best, have fun and get better.

You cant please everyone all the time no matter what you do.

Key Point Three.

Do not waste mental energy.

You have a limited amount mental energy.

When you focus on things outside of our control, that energy is wasted.

Things outside of our control are distractions.

Distractions can lead to discouragement.

Key Point Four.

Focus on what you control.

With the limited amount of mental energy you have focus what you can control.

Like hydrating before a game.

That is a simple thing you can focus on versus worrying about what your coach may do.

Focusing on the controllables will positively impact your performance and give you the maximum

opportunity to earn the results you desire.

Focus on the Controllables!

You will need a pen and paper for this exercise.

If you are not old school like me then Im sure you can figure out how to do this on

snapchat or something or whatever you kids are using these days!

First, write a list of all your goals in soccer.

Like making the team, becoming a starter, scoring 10 goals this year, breaking your

juggling record, etc.

Next, circle the goals that are outside of your control.

Like becoming a starter.

Yes, you control how hard you work to make it happen.

But ultimately your coach makes the decision and that is out of your control.

Now, write down what you can control to help you reach those circled uncontrollable goals.

These are called micro goals.

For example, for the uncontrollable goal of becoming a starter, write work hard, be confident,

jog in first every time the coach calls the team in, arrive early, stay after practice

and work on skills, etc.

Micro goals are small, short term, action steps that will have a direct impact on reaching

your long-term, tangible goals.

Now, focus on your micro goals.

Whats Wrong!

If you cant stop thinking about why you didnt score a hat trick in your last game you are

focusing on what you cant control.

I know this can be disappointing, but dont get discouraged!

Instead focus on what you control, keep putting in the effort to focus on the controllables

and in time the results will follow.

Bonus Tip!

Understand bad days happen.

We all have them.

You are not perfect.

Im not perfect.

Pros arent perfect.

When you have a bad day, learn from the mistakes you made and move on!

You cant change a bad day so dwelling on it is liking focusing on the uncontrollables.

Remember focus on what you can control.

The two most powerful things that you can control are your EFFORT and your ATTITUDE!

Make a habit of always putting forth your best effort and attitude.

These soccer virtues are a big part of your mental fitness!

The answer, based on all the

available social science research, is FALSE.

Pay and benefits do not increase motivation in the workplace.

Now let me ask the question a bit of a different way: True or False: Pay and Benefits IMPACT

employee motivation.

Ah, it turns out, the answer to that question, is TRUE.

What's the difference?

Stick around to find out!

Ok, let's take the first question: Do Pay and Benefits INCREASE motivation.

The answer is no, they don't.

Research tells us that increasing pay and benefits does not correlate to an increase

in effort or productivity on the job.

You may get that short term, as an increase in pay and benefits can act like a shot of

caffeine, but like caffeine, it wears off quickly, and the employee's performance

eventually comes back down to where it was.

Now, that said, pay and benefits do IMPACT motivation, and that's not just semantics.

Here's what we know: when an employee perceives that their pay and benefits are fair and adequate,

compensation no longer acts as an influencer of effort and productivity.

However, if an employee perceives that their pay and benefits are unfair or inadequate, that

can decrease motivation and increase disengagement.

See the difference?

Compensation doesn't increase motivation.

But if you get it wrong, if the employee perceives that, all things being equal, someone else

is being paid more for doing the same job, then their effort, productivity, and engagement

all suffer.

Also, if an employee isn't earning enough to meet the demands of life – take care

of their families, pay their bills, etc. – then that employee is likely to be less motivated

to stay and try.

This is why many folks in roles with historically lower levels of compensation might move on

just for money.

Now I know this flies in the face of what some leaders believe.

It contradicts leaders who say "look, my employees TELL me that what would motivate

them at work is 'more money!'"

Take just a moment to think about that premise – that more money would motivate an employee

to try harder – when you really think about it, you'll quickly recognize how absurd

it is.

Because if an employee says "I would try harder if you paid me more" what they are

really saying is: "I have another gear.

I don't use it.

You haven't seen it, but it's for sale, and you can buy it."

And is that true?

No, it's not.

If you give that employee a raise, it's almost certain you'll get no discernible

change in effort or output over time.

And if it was true?

If you had an employee who was only giving you partial effort while waiting for more

of this, is that the kind of person you want on your team anyway?

The truth is that when you ask employees what motivates them in the workplace, money rarely

comes up.

The top answers are more recognition and my relationship with my direct supervisor.

These are the biggest influencers of employee engagement.

So, if you want your people to care and try and give their all, if you want them to have

an emotional and psychological commitment to their work, then regularly give voice to

their contributions and the difference they make in the lives of others.

Also, care about them as a person, be an advocate for their professional development, and when

the time comes, fight for pay increases that ensure their compensation remains

fair and adequate.

Remember, motivation isn't something we do to people.

It's something they experience as a result of a variety of conditions being present in

the workplace, most of which are created, installed, and maintained

by you—by their bosses.

How To Heal The Hurt

Many people think that the worst pain in this world comes from being vulnerable and allowing

yourself to get hurt.

What they may not realize, is it is the very act of locking up our heart that causes the

most pain and confusion in our lives.

As a condition of being human, at one point or another, we all hurt.

We cry, we recoil, and perhaps we come to a conclusion that it was a poor idea to let

ourselves feel.

We then lock away our heart.

We block out our feelings.

We vow to never let ourselves be vulnerable to the possibility of being hurt again.

We tell ourselves �This is how I�ll protect myself�

We do this both consciously and unconsciously.

We believe we�re loving ourselves by closing our hearts to the world.

However the choice is similar to seeing a child scrape their knee on the ground, then

choosing to lock them in a padded room so they never scrape their knee again.

The child is �safe� yet it doesn�t flourish.

The heart is your child.

It is adventurous, exploring, loving, yearning.

It is not meant to be locked away.

It is meant to explore and soar � to tumble again and again � and to get back up and

fly even farther than before.

Yet it cannot do this if you do not let it out.

And to let it out, you must be willing.

Be willing to be hurt.

Willing is the key here.

You are not seeking to be hurt.

However when you are willing, you do not hold back.

You do not dip the toe in.

You embrace it all.

And if there are scrapes along the way, it all was worth it anyway.

The pain no longer becomes something to fear and recoil from.

It becomes a reflection of the twist and turns of the journey.

That feeling where we feel we�ve been hurt so much we couldn�t possibly allow ourselves

to be hurt again� that is simply not true.

Your capacity for love outweighs anything this world could throw at you.

Love yourself.

Forgive yourself for ever seeing yourself once upon a time as unable to �handle life�

Then laugh as you remember there was nothing to forgive in the first place.

All is well.

Remember that the feeling of pain upon pain comes from denying yourself the joys of love,

while inevitably feeling pain on top of the pain you are holding on to.

Remember that that is okay.

You are in the middle of an experience-experiment.

Remember that all it takes is a conscious choice NOW � even if that choice is �Today

I will consider there may be a new way.

There may be a new perspective.�

Then allow yourself to be and feel what you feel.

Lovingly hold yourself.

Let it be.

And be willing to feel it all.

That is all it takes to shift everything.

Hello and welcome!

Odra River is flooded right now, so I'm not hunting for asp, although it's early May...

Asps are resting...

...But I used this time to check some small river or stream actually...

...which descends to Odra River oxbow.

I'm trying to catch some pike, maybe perch...

...and it's occasion to try new braid which I showed you lately...

...and which was sent to me for some tests.

The truth is, I'm not actually veryfying whole line...

...It should be 150 yards on the spool, or 137 meters.

However, while spooling the reel, on 95m appeared a fracture on the line...

I couldn't use all the line with that imperfection, because ending would be tragic...

...So I had to cut it off. You can see how did it look like on the photos...

As you can see, I had to delete a piece of this braid...

...But I filled the spool with the remaining almost 100m...

...and for trying out what it's made of it will be absolutely sufficient.

I used for this 2500 size reel (Daiwa Caldia)...

...light pike fishing set, rod up to 20 grams...

...line is 0,14mm in diameter, so it should get along without any issues...

What is my first impression?...

As you can see, small-sized lure...

Maybe you will see the line now... Or maybe not, I don't know...

Let's see how it presents itself on the reel...

I've been fishing for about 1 hour...

What can I tell you... Of course, it's waaay to soon to make definite statements about braid line...

However, my first feeling is that braid is doing correctly, I can say that.

Of course there is no possibility of any wearing out, because it's completely new...

Casting is very smooth, I'm fishing in a bit difficult place...

As you can see it's very overgrown...

It forces short casting, several or over a dozen meters is quite good.

So for now I can't tell you how it performs at long range...

But as I was saying, it will take some time to make proper test.

But for starters, it does really well.

When it comes to strength... I didn't have some really bad snags, like rocks or trees...

On the reed or weeds it looks good.

It didn't brake, it holds the knot very nice...

It's quite round in shape, a little bit soft and it makes it neat to fish with.

Maybe it's more similar to nylon fishing line than braid lines I use.

And this is very good.

I'm going back to fishing, I will also check what my dad and my brother-in-law catched...

They're trying some float fishing, rudd, ide, crucian and so on...

So I'll try a spot where the water slows down a bit.

It's obviously not the line's fault that I'm not catching anything today! :)

We will test it on the fish too, for sure.

This movie is just my first impression, I wanted to share with you a few words of opinion.

On the downside, there was a fracture, maybe it's just bad fortune...

...but it's hard to send it back to China.

I've send an e-mail to the FishingSir, tackle shop that asked me to do the test.

I've send the photos, I wonder if they ever had such a problem...

After all, it might be just unlucky coincidence.

General opinion: I can't say anything negative about braid itself.

Line works properly and when I make some new conclusions, I will inform you immediately.

OK, let's get back to fishing. And take a look on the river...

Water isn't very clear...

But it's not a big deal...

Now the Odra River is flooded...

The water is very high and it's great for all small ponds, oxbows and such.

Good sign for next years.

Dear viewers, I will guide you through the ruins of the castle Uhrovec today.

Uhrovec Castle is castle in ruins in the southern part of Strážov mountains, above the village Uhrovske Podhradie.

Late Romanesque castle from the 13th century, the foundations of a Romanesque disposition maintained also during brisk building activity in the following centuries.

The building was rebuild later in the 60s of the 13th century by Trencin castleowner Bas from Hunt-Poznan family.

Relatively small castle of triangular footprint intercepts a stone wall with three towers at the corners.

High triangular tower at the forefront of the castle was directed against the access neck and reminds Lower Austrian castle Rauheneck at Baden.

A little prismatic tower in the southwest had on the ground floor entrance gate and on the highest point stood estimated towering residential building - Donžon.

Soon they attached late romaneque chapel, which thanks to the complete preservation is one of the unique monuments of its kind in Slovakia.

Semi-circular apse and nave of the chapel were originally covered with a beamed ceiling and from stands,

which floor was on a rock, owner of the castle with his family were watching worship.

Castle was the center of the growing dominion and remained in the hands of the sons of Bas till 1285.

Matúš Čák Trenčiansky seized the castle and after his death in 1321 the castle automatically passed between the royal estates.

King Zigmund of Luxembourg donated castle to his minions Stibor of Stiborice in 1389 and after it was inherited by his son.

The major construction work was made by Pongrác family from St. Nicholas.

They owned the castle from the 15th century to the end.

Pongrac family built the new palace along the northeast wall and dug adjacent in the courtyard.

Entry to a three-storey palatial building was permitd by late gothic curtain.

Exterior facade articulate windows with stone lining.

At the end of the 15th century occurred disputes around the castle property.

Danffy family has managed to unite the estate for some time.

During earthworks at the end of the middle ages they built in front of the entrance gate brick fore-and then expanded the castle of large ward on the west side.

Ward was built by Peter Szilágyi, which according to medical action at the royal court was nicknamed the Doctor.

He owned a castle in the years 1533 - 1546.

Access to the barbican secured bridge over the moat neck which opens into passage prismatic tower.

Gate was protected by adjacent oval cannon bastion and the other cylinder, inside open bastion consolidated by southwestern corner barbican.

At the same time they dug another tank at courtyard.

During Szilagyi possession was the castle forger's mint.

After the Szilagyi death, castle and estate in 1547 was attributed Zay of Cemerné by Emperor Francis.

Despite the convenient pre-existing castle Uhrovec he extended it, and began with the Renaissance reconstruction of the castle,

which according to the inscription on the former castle was completed in 1589 by his sons Lawrence and Andrew.

The adjustments continued into the next century, which changed the overall silhouette of the castle.

As a result of the increase in late-Gothic palace and the completion of other residential tracts in the upper castle,

former dominant tower completely disappeared and creates a compact, vertical alignment complex.

Courtyards of both parts of the castle circulated in several levels of galleries that make access to rooms of each residential wing.

Defense porch, supported by external pillars of the palace, increased immunity of upper castle.

The highly comfortable of rebuilt patrician residence indicates a unique number more than twenty still clearly preserved lavatories diverse embodiments.

The castle long provided a safe harbor in times of Turkish threat.

He was well maintained later too.

The importance of the castle rose in the 17th century during the uprisings, which served as a safe haven for Zay and the surrounding nobility.

Then slowly losing its functionality and owners have not dwelt there, except the guards.

After a storm in 1802, Zay family repaired the damaged part of the roof.

Zay family focus their life in a comfortable, adjusted monumental mansion in Uhrovec.

The definitive destruction started a fire in the early 18th century, when the lower castle was burned.

The upper castle with a rich armory, which served primarily as a dwelling during hunts, has been stolen and vandalized by local rebel troops of Hurban in 1848.

Since then, fort fell into disrepair and changed gradually to ruin.

Uhrovec is compact ruin, which has preserved the authenticity due to its remoteness and difficult access.

Castle was saved of medieval drawing and Turkish trip, so ruin is full of the beautiful displays of contact and overlapping of the individual building styles.

Among the structures of historical cities stands Romanesque chapel with an apse and massive tenure stage,

the construction of palaces with preserved stone profiled windows, portals of the vaults, bastion fortifications

and on some places the original surface and the plaster building.

On the north side of the barbican there are preserved pillars of the bridge.

At the time of the Slovak National Uprising here and in the surrounding dense forests acted Partisan Brigade of J. Žižka,

monument was built on the nearby Jan hill for those who died.

The Uhrovec Castle is also related to the reputation of fearless chatelaine.

Under Uhrovec castle, once on the banks of the creek appeared galore of Turks, who were preparing to attack the castle.

Brave chatelaine, however found their commander bathing in the river and she hit him.

Clear water stream was darkened by Turkish blood.

Turks saw the effect of woman strike and immediately imagined what is probably going to happen after men start shooting.

They packed and run so that even a hundred horses could not catch them.

The place where the Turkish commander was killed reveal bloodstains during the clear nights.

Zay family then finished the construction of the castle in final form of a monolithic, vertically balanced place.

Later, the owners moved into a mansion in the village of Uhrovec and the castle was for the guards and estate officers.

Even at the beginning of the 19th century, roofs damaged by wind was repaired,

but revolution in 1848 plundered the castle as a symbol of feudal oppression and was succumbed to fire.

From April to December 1972 subject was focused by Engineering Surveying Bratislava.

In 2000, volunteers began during workshops removing seeding green, made entrance to the castle and cleaned up the core building material in the castle.

From 2001 to the present there is ongoing conservation work.

The results are slowly, gradually, but surely visible.

Castle, full of beautiful architectural details has a real chance of rescue.

Foundation for Cultural Heritage Preservation is taking care abot the castle.

Three-sided disposition of the upper castle, built from the adjoining courtyard with a tank containing the Roman kernel with later reconstructions and annexes.

The dominant Renaissance palace overlooks the late-Roman chapel with the Zeman's Epoch, exposed to the eastern corner.

The palace, which opens to the courtyard with a pair of arcades in the west, and adjacent to the older Renaissance palace.

The palace covers the original triangular tower from the northwest corner.

The southwest corner fills the entrance prismatic tower in addition to the thresholds.

On the western plateau, the castle is extended with the next tanks and the farm building.

Its defense strengthens the delta bastions, and in the South closes the remainder of the late-Renaissance renaissance palace,

for which Zayas had been brought from the outside of the wall.

A prismatic gate tower, into which the bridge slid across the neck-ridge built on the pillars, entered the prey.

The palace's renaissance fireplace on the ground floor in the middle of the palace

and the remains of more than twenty acre and vicar flames spread all over the castle are testified about the facilities of this tenderness.

Today, the castle is under construction and access is at your own risk.
