While Korea braces for election day, France has chosen its next leader.
Centrist candidate Emmanuel Macron has won the French presidential election,... easily
beating far-right candidate Marine Le Pen.
Macron opens a new chapter in France's political history as he's an outsider,... from neither
of the nation's two traditional main parties.

With all the votes counted, the official figures from France's interior ministry show that
Emmanuel Macron beat Marine Le Pen by 66 percent to 34.
Macron, who has never held an elected office, was widely expected to win,... but the gap
is wider than the 20 or so percentage points that pre-election surveys had pointed to.
He will become the country's youngest leader after Napoleon and the first elected president
outside France's two main political parties.
In his victory speech outside the Louvre, Macron vowed to eliminate the reasons that
led some to vote for the country's political extremes, a reference to those who voted for
Le Pen.

anger, some dismay and sometimes some beliefs.
I respect them, but I will do all I can during the next five years so that no one ever has
a reason again to vote for the extremes."
The defeated Le Pen thanked her supporters and called for the emergence of a new political

Despite his victory, there is one thorn in Macron's side -- his En Marche party has no
seats in parliament, something which Macron says is vital to bring about change to France.

build, from tomorrow onwards, a real majority, a strong majority.
This majority to carry out change is what the country is hoping for and what the country
deserves.

General elections will take place on June 11th and 18th, and En Marche may have to seek
a coalition in order to implement his policies, which consist of a business-friendly EU and
loosened borders.
Some political parties had backed Macron's campaign,
but it was mostly due to their wish to defeat Le Pen's anti-EU and anti-immigration policies.

Did it ever occur to you that there are children who don't go to school
because theirs schools have no… water?
Unfortunately, this is the case of too often in many places in the world.
Lack of access to safe water in schools leads to the spread of diseases,
and this causes many children to discontinue their education.
Another problem is limited access to toilets
some schools have too few toilets for the number of children that attend
and in some schools there are no toilets at all.
In addition to that, boys and girls often can't have separate toilets,
which means girls aren't given the privacy they need and deserve, especially during puberty.
A lot of them drop out of school, too.
Due to a lack of water and sanitation in schools many children are prevented from finishing their education.
One such school was Dhame Yasin Artan in Mogadishu,
where Polish Humanitarian Action, with support from UNICEF, worked together with local communities
on bringing children back to school by providing access to clean and safe water.
The work included:
Renovation and construction of water infrastructure
Setting up hand-washing stations, easily accessible for children
Providing access to safe, drinkable water
As well as renovating and building new toilets facilities,
separate for boys and girls, as their privacy and comfort are important
The work also dealt with proper waste management and its removal to separate locations outside of the schools.
Polish Humanitarian Action also supported local efforts to promote hygiene
aimed at enabling children to teach one another about proper hygienic practices.
With access to water, children can be safe and healthy at school.
They rarely get sick and have better conditions to learning.
They can develop properly and have an influence on their own future.
Thanks to support from UNICEF,
Polish Humanitarian Action has provided access to safe water
in 5 schools in Somalia and reached 5000 children.
Because every child has a right to an education and a healthy development.

I really wanted to create something
amazing for SJ that she can

SJ has a son, Hamish
He's eight now but at the time that she
became a quadriplegic he was four
It's all a bit of a blur to me actually
The whole story, the whole scenario
my perspective of it now
my version of the story would probably
be very different from my husband's and
very different again from my family members
and probably really different from Hamish
Prior to that her life was totally full
of adventure, you know she'd ride around Australia
She'd travel the world and
her life was all about grabbing the moments
and adrenaline rush
I was getting a lot of nerve pain
I had a bulging disc at my c5 c6 part of my spine
So the disc was bulging which was putting pressure on a nerve
which was running down my left arm
The long and short of it was
the outcome was going to be surgery
And it was basically a simple surgery
I just went into it really not concerned
It was low risk
And I woke up from the anesthetic and I couldn't move
She wants to see her son have that life that she had
So that was the inspiration behind our imagery
To give that so the images and the
actual adventure that we had when we
did it gave that across to Hamish
Von Wong, I've been following him for
many years and his projects are always
Incredible
It came up because going to be in Australia
Australia and we wanted to do another
Heart Project and so that idea of
Showing how both of us can make a difference
through our Art and through our Photography
But in really different ways
The reality of life now
If that microsecond during my surgery didn't happen
I'd be out there jumping around
at Mount York with my boy
All said and done, you know you've got to look at life
I suppose the stereotypical journey and
what happened to me has happened to me
And even though I do have this wheelchair
That's my mode of transport now
This cool stuff can still happen
And the beautiful stuff in my relationship with Hamish
can still happen
And amazing experiences are still coming my way
There's so many different ways of making a difference
And you know, just to find that and
to go out there and do it
It might be personal projects here and there
It might be just finding someone that you can help
That's the best gift
is to give to someone else

Hi On my last video I asked if you would like
to see a Q&A video, and I got a question from my fellow YouTuber
@osirish. So this is my first Q&A video, with one question.
The question was "favourite Irish bands/musicians". That one is easy.
The first time I heard about Ireland was because of this group.
I was singing in a band back then and someone said "your singing style reminds me of this
group". So I looked up, and when I started to listen
I was like "this is so beautiful!" "what style is this?"
"I love this fiddler!" "oh my gosh there are bagpipes as well"
"Where does this music comes from?" and that's how I started to do lots of research
on Ireland, and started to think about moving here.
I thought that if I did at some point I would be able to be part of something like that.
But you know, there's life and stuff. One thing that really bugs me is that when
I was in Brazil, I used to think "wow, this group must be like a national treasure in
Ireland". But when I got osirish question and started
to think about making this video, I actually asked around at the office and none of my
Irish colleagues knew them. None.
And if you don't know them, I can guarantee, you are missing something really great.
You should look them up like now. Specially their live stuff.
It is so good. Anyway, if you're wondering, wonder no more:
my favourite Irish group is Celtic Woman. Now let me know what is your favourite Irish
band in the comments! I'm going to Japan on Thursday, so I'm not
sure if there's going to be a new video next Monday.
