Youtube daily report w Dec 10 2017

Everyday we get questions about the ranch, from comments, emails and on facebook.

Sometimes we get the same question, over and over.

Today we answer some of the most popular questions on Our Wyoming Life.

Everyday around here starts out pretty much the same, well most days, yesterday started

with me trying to make coffee and Mackenzie looking out the window and hollering "theres

cows out!!"

She's a bit dramatic, there were actually 3 calves that had slipped out of their corral,

took me a total of about a minute and a half to get them back in there, and the crisis

of the renegade calves was averted.

So aside from days where we have a gang of calves running amock, most days start out

the same.

I get up, grab a coffee, and I usually check the computer to see what messages we have

gotten overnight.

The overnight questions, comments and emails lots of times come from overseas, and they

can be very interesting at times, but I like to answer them, so I try to get that done

before I head out to feed and take care of animals.

This morning we also have to bring in cow that has developed a limp over the last couple

of days, its pretty bad, and I really feel sorry for her having to walk out to food every

day.

I'm not sure if she slipped and fell, or what happened but we can bring her in, and

do what we can for her and put her in a corral with food and water so she doesn't have

to further injure herself walking all up and down the pastures.

While we are out working, my phone keeps dinging and vibrating with more messages and emails.

I hear it, but I can't do anything about it.

I love answering them, but sometimes work comes first.

Now that we have her in, she needs a break.

I'm sure she's hurting and we are going to bring her into the barn and get her some

medications but for right now we can rest and answer a couple of emails.

How big is the ranch?

This is one I get at least once a day, if not more.

My usual answer is around 5000 acres.

Kind of general, but not in a bad way, at least I don't think.

When Erin and I first came to the ranch, no we weren't raised ranchers, we actually

came here when her stepdad got sick and soon after he passed away, so here we are, anyway…

When we first came here, I remember asking a few ranchers that exact question, how many

acres do you have?

And I also remember them looking at me, and usually walking away.

I was a greenhorn, I probably still am, but I quickly learned that a question like that,

is considered in bad taste in these parts.

Gilbert, my father-in- law explained it best to me, he said.

I wouldn't walk up to you and ask you how much money you have the bank, or how much

you make per year.

Now I'm not chewing anyone's butt, but if you are going to be a ranch hand, you have

to talk like one.

That's why I don't mind answering the question, but I don't say 7458 acres, I

just say, around 5000 and leave it at that.

Alright, lets move her up into the barn.

She's had some time to chill and now its going to be into the head chute for her.

The head chute is just like the chute that you have seen us use during preg checking

except its just the head part.

No squeeze portion.

This device is just there to catch her head and hold her in place.

Lots of times we end up using this chute for doctoring on animals or if we have to help

a cow have a calf, this is where we do it.

As we lead her up she's going to walk up and put her head through, then through her

natural motion she's going to lock herself in place.

So how many animals on the ranch?

This question kind of ties in with the last one, but I don't mind.

Again I may not give the exact number of cows that are out here, or the exact number of

calves but I can say that there are over 160 breeding cows, there are 4 bulls, a couple

of horses, a mess of chickens and ducks, 7 pigs, and 2 peacocks along with more barn

cats than you can shake a stick at.

It's sometimes a lot to keep track off.

Ok, she is locked in the head chute, she's calmed down a bit and now we can get a good

look at her and see if we can figure out what is going on .

This is number 92, she was born right here on the ranch on April 15, 2010 making her

7 years and 7 months old.

Her daddy was a big red angus bull that we had here at that time, number 542, we called

him Little Red.

She has had 6 calves for us, she is pregnant and her calves average about 72 lbs at birth.

According to my records, she has never had any health issues, she's had her shots regularly

and has never had any aggressiveness issues.

Let's take at her.

And as we could tell from when we were bringing her in, she is limping on her back foot, and

it actually looks like more of a hip issue than a foot issue.

Can I come work as a ranch hand?

This one we get a lot, and not only through comments and by email.

We have had people show up at the ranch, people from a long way away.

Now have had some folks come out that watch that happen to be coming through, we had a

great couple and their family come out from New York and hang out with Erin and I for

a few hours.

But just finding us, which apparently is not that hard to do, lots of folks in town are

happy to send people our way, I guess.

If you just show up looking for a job you are going to be disappointed.

Plus, it freaks Erin out and honestly scares her a bit.

So, stick to sending emails, I'll answer you this way.

During the summer I usually hire a high school kid to help out, a couple of days a week,

and that's if the ranch has the money to do it.

It helps me out and helps them out by letting them learn some skills that I honestly feel

you can't learn anywhere but on the ranch.

I can't afford to pay enough to help someone move here, and I surely don't want you to

pack up your wife and 4 kids and move here based on a few days of work a week.

I'm flattered that people want to help, I really am, but there are legal issues like

insurance and workman's comp to deal with as well plus you probably wouldn't like

working with me anyway.

Having a boss that doesn't know what he's doing half the time, probably isn't that

much fun.

Back to number 92 here, here hip is pretty inflamed so we are going to give her some

medication to manage the swelling called banamine.

Then we give her an injection of exceed, a pretty potent antibiotic to combat any infection

or anything else that may arise.

So

one question we get a lot is Why do you do this?

This question comes from all over the board, from the young to the old, to the vegan to

the die hard meat eater, and I think the question means different things coming from different

people.

The vegan, could be saying that its cruel and we shouldn't be doing it.

The young might think its too much work and there are better ways to make money, which

trust me I know, I went from being a radio dj and a radio programmer making really good

money to this.

And maybe the older generations , they might just want to see better for us younger kids.

So when someone asks why I do this, I can tell them this one thing.

A promise.

Like I said earlier, we came to the ranch when Erins' stepdad Gilbert started getting

sick and I worked with him for a few years before he passed away.

The only other person who knows this story is Erin so I'm going to let you in as well.

Gilbert passed away around noon on a Sunday, in a hospital in Casper.

That morning we knew he was going and I sat alone with him in his room from about 4 am

to 7 or so that morning.

We tried to make sure someone was with him at all times and everyone else was getting

a bit of rest.

Gilbert was in and out of it, he couldn't talk but his eyes would open and he would

look at you.

I held his hand the whole time because we all knew that Gilbert, even the hard old rancher

he was, was scared to die.

As I held his hand I talked to him and I promised him that no matter what I would try my hardest

to make sure that his ranch would be around for years and years to come.

That I wouldn't fail him and I would do anything I could to make sure that the ranch

was safe.

The ranch meant more to Gilbert than anything, the cows, the life, just being here would

make his eyes light up.

So I promised, and I meant it.

I remember him squeezing my hand so tight when I made that promise that I was a little

scared that he might hurt me or himself.

He died a few hours later, with his family, praying over him.

For me, a moment like that means more than any promise I had ever made in my life.

So that why I do this and that's why I try to do it every day better than the last.

Because I made a promise to a dying man, who trusted us with his most prized possession.

The ranch.

And this cow.

Who is all done.

We will put her out in a corral for a few weeks and keep an eye on her and hope she

gets better with some rest.

She may need another shot of Banamine for any swelling or inflammation and if she does

she will get it.

Everyone deserves the best care, especially a cow that is our livelihood.

Help us form our community and spread a message, that hard work is its own reward and you wont

regret it.

Like us on facebook, share it, and a special thanks to those who support us on patreon,

where you can show your support for what we are doing for as little as one buck.

I will see you on Tuesday for our project list and we have a live stream scheduled for

Thursday night, lots coming up and we hope you can be there for all of it.

Have a great week and thanks for joining us, in our Wyoming life.

Entropy Principle: Applications? - Duration: 2:17.

Welcome back MechanicalEI, Entropy being a property of the system has many applications,

this makes us wonder, What are the applications of entropy?

Before we jump in check out the third part of this series to find out what entropy is.

Now, let's clear out a few concepts: The inequality of classusius provides the criterion for reversibility

of the cycle.

If R equals 0, the cycle is reversible, if R is less than zero then the cycle is irreversible

but possible, if R is greater than zero then the cycle is impossible since it violates

the second law.

The entropy of an isolated system can never decrease.

It always increases and remains constant only when the process is reversible.

This is known as the entropy principle.

The Second law thus indicates the direction in which a process takes place.

A process occurs in such a direction as to cause an increase in entropy of the universe.

After establishing these facts we move to look at a simple application of the entropy

principal: Consider the transfer of heat through a finite temperature difference.

If you write the equation for entropy, We realise that entropy change is only positive

and zero for the cases where T1>T2 and T1=T2.

Also, it's negative for T1<T2 implying that the transfer can only take place in that direction.

Hence, this easy example of heat transfer easily depicts how entropy and in turn second

law governs the transfer

of energy.

HOW TO LEARN ENGLISH 2.0 [BEST METHOD] *activate the subtitles* - Duration: 9:51.

This video is going to be very quick

today I'm going to teach you how to use my channel

as a real English course

yes, you can use my channel as a complete English course

from basic to advanced

so let's get started, because time is money

1- watch it with the subtitles in Portuguese 2- watch it with the subtitles in English 3- watch it without subtitles

the first thing you need to do when you're watching my videos is:

*activate the subtitles*

as you can see, my videos have subtitles in different languages

and in English

so, please, the first thing you should do is *ACTIVATE THE SUBTITLES*

if you are a basic student, you should watch my video 3 times

the first time, with the subtitles in your language

then watch the same video again, but now with the subtitles in English

pausing the video, taking notes, writing down new expressions

and

new vocabulary

and

the third time, you should watch it without subtitles

because then, you can practice your listening

if you are an intermediate student

you should watch my videos at least twice

the first time with the subtitles in English

pausing the video, writing down new expressions and vocabulary

and then watch it again without subtitles

so that you can practice your listening

if you are an advanced student

you should watch my videos twice too

why twice?

because the first time you're going to watch it without the subtitles just to practice your listening

and the second time you're going to watch it just to see my beautiful face

Oh, you're here!

Yes, Rodger. I'm writing down everything you're saying

and you're very hot

and Rodger, I normally watch your videos nine times each

oh, nine times! That's a lot!

it's because you're hot

stop it!!! I'm shy!!!

Yes, rodger! You are on fire!

ok, now please, stop it!

no! you are literally on fire!!!

what do you mean?

oh my God!!!

Alright, let's continue!

if you think that I speak too fast

you can slow down the speed of the video

just like this:

one thing that is extremely important

is that you need to check MY PLAYLISTS

so you go to my channel

and then you check the playlists

I've devided my videos into different categories, so

you can check whatever you want to study at the moment

if you are a basic student you should start from this playlist here:

BASIC COURSE, 2.0

so click on it and follow the classes one by one

in the correct order

class 1, class 2, class 3, class 4

so on so forth

if you subscribe to the channel, you'll be given access to

the pdf files with extra exercises and homework based on the videos from this playlist

BASIC COURSE 2.0

after you download the pdf files, you'll notice that

in each PDF file

on the top of ot...there is a link

this link will take you to the specific video you need to watch in order to do the exercises from

this PDF file

If you are a subscriber, please download the PDF files

if you are my subscriber and you haven't downloaded the pdf files yet

please check in the description of the video how you can download

the PDF files for this playlist

BASIC COURSE 2.0

but you can study English with all of my videos

you don't necessarily need to study from this playlist

you can study English with every one of my videos

because I only speak English

in all of my videos

and my videos have subtitles in different languages

so you can study English with every one of my videos

even if it's just a comedy video

or a video that I'm just giving my opinion about something

you can always learn new vocabulary

you can always learn with the subtitles

so you can use any of my videos to learn English

and with my videos, you can learn and practice the 4 skills

reading

writing

speaking

listening

Rodger!

Now I'm going to teach you

I'm going to teach you, now, how to...

Ok, now I'm going to teach you

what?!

before you continuw, I need to tell you something

what?1

I've been studying English for the past two years and

I don't feel that I have learnt a lot

when I have to use my English I don't know how to do that

and i feel frustrated

oh! I'm going to help you with that

tell me about your routine

what's your routine when you study English?

Routine? I don't have any routine.

sometimes I study English for 6 hours

every day, for one week.

but then I have to stop because i work a lot , so

then I don't study for 3 months

and then I study again, but

then for 12 hours every day

for 3 weeks, but then I stop, because

I have two dogs. I have to take care of my dogs

you know. I have to take them to the park , sometimes!

That's completely wrong

in order to study with my course, you need to have two things

the first thing is:

discipline

and the most important thing, actually,

is ROUTINE. You need to have a routine

but I can't have a routine because I have two kids

You...Do you have two kids?!?! But you are just a child!

Yeah, my dogs are my kids

oh! so you have two dogs!

I don't really have dogs, they are just my imaginary friends.

alright

but as I was saying before, you need to have routine

you need to study at least twenty minutes every day

if you don't have time, you don't need to study for 3 hours every day

it would be the ideal, to study for at least three hours every day

but if you don't have time, it's ok, because you can study for 20 minutes

and it's going to be efficient if you do it correctly

it's important that you study the 4 skills

every day

and you can use my channel to study the 4 skills

every day

and the first skill that you should practice is READING

my videos normally take 5 minutes each

so if you watch my videos with the subtitles in English

you will be practicing your reading skills

then you can practice your writing skills because

let's imagine, you are watching my video and then you come across new words

new vocabulary, new expressions

you're going to write them down

in your notebook

so, whenever you find something different, some new words and expressions

write them down, make a list of new vocabulary

and expressions in your notebook

so you will practice your writing

with these new vocabulary and expressions you can create new expressions

using the things that you have just learnt

therefore, you will be practicing your writing

after that, you can practice your speaking

because you're going to read aloud

everything that you have written in your notebook

you're gong to use your voice and read

the new words and expressions

if you don't know how to pronounce some things, you can

you can go back to my video and check how I pronounced them

and after that, you can practice your listening

because you can watch my video again

without subtitles

I'm sure that at this point you are going to understand my video 100%.

WITHOUT SUBTITLES

Do you understand it?

If you learn something today and you never use it, you're going to lose it

if you don't use it, you lose it

But then, I have a problem, Rodger...

because I don't hve anybody to talk to

my friends don't speak English

I don't know anybody who is studying English, so

I don't have anybody to talk to and to actually use

you know, what I am learning at the moment...

I know about that

that's why I've come up with a solution for you

I have the solution for you

if you don't have anybody to talk to

if you subscribe to the channel, you'll be given access

to our group on Telegram

Yes, we have a group on Telegram

and the best thing is...You don't have to pay for it

so, this group is only for my subscribers

and they can communicate with each other, only in English

That's perfect!

in our group on Telegram you can practice the 4 skills too

you can practice your reading because you're going to read

what people are saying

in English

you can practice your speaking because you can

send voice messages

in English, of course

and you can practice your listening, because you can listen to

the voice messages that people are sending

in the group

and you can practice your writing

because you can type messages in English

so it's importante that you use

whatever you're learning at the moment

this is an English Course, ok?

my channel is your school

so, let's say that you're learning the simple present today

so you should go to the group on Telegram and use

the simple present. If you're learning

the future

you should go to the group and talk about your future

and start conversations talking about something

that you are studying at the moment

please use my channel as your school

I'm your teacher and this is a complete English course

I'll keep making videos for you, please watch my videos

Thank you very much for watching this video

please hit the LIKE button

it helps me a lot

The Ranch FAQs - Duration: 12:29.

Hence, this easy example of heat transfer easily depicts how entropy and in turn second

law governs the transfer

of energy.

Gitaroo Man - Born to be Bone - With Lyrics - Duration: 3:55.

Born to be bone (Whoa!)

Born to be bone

Born to be bone (What am I supposed to do, Puma?)

Born to be bone (Just dodge, U1! Keep dodging!)

Born to be bone (Finally!)

Born to be bone (Help! Puma!)

I'm dead

Because I do not have a heart

I'm alive

Born to be bone

(Whoa, Puma! Help, Puma!)

You will not believe your eyes, your thoughts

It's the Day of the Dead, I saw a hundred skeletons

(Just pathetic!)

(U1, help!)

No more crying, I see the light

Everybody is going to die

Live life

Until you're nothing but bones

Born to be bone

Born to be bone (Phew! Sorry for the wait, U1!)

Born to be bone (Puma! Gitaroo!)

Born to be bone

No mercy, because I don't have a heart

Wherever I wander, the road is my home

Please remember me when I'm nothing but bones

Ashes to ashes until dust will cover my bones

Tonight we celebrate, the dead return

All the roads I have wandered, guitar by my side

Light the bonfire, tonight they burn

The end is a new beginning, forever I ride

(Just in time!)

Sing to the rhythm of the samba we play

Pounding the beat as it rings in the street in the rhythm of the everyday, day to day

The music plays, sing and dance

Nothing will stop me when I hear the music and play

Born to be bone

Down every road we will go, we will travel so far

Remember me while I travel down the road

Move to the beat of the melody, the memory in this guitar

No mercy, because I do not have a heart

But a soul is in my bones

I will share everything I have seen

Everybody believe in the dead there's still a light shining

No more crying, I see the light

Everybody is going to die

Live life

Until you're nothing but bones

We are born to die

But that is no cause to cry

Think of the people

You make happy while you're alive

(Go for their weak spots!)

(What weak spots?)

(Their weak spots are... er... I forget!)

How Star Wars Helps Us Understand Authoritarianism | Cass Sunstein - Duration: 4:38.

Well, what Star Wars does is it tells us about parents and children and how connected each

is to the other, and it is probably the most stirring tale (I think) of boy's need for

a dad and a dad's need for a boy that we have in modern culture.

And it kind of nails some of the intensity of those feelings.

It also—and I think this is equally deep—tells us something about redemption.

So the idea is that if you can get your kid to love you it's probably going to be okay.

And also if you do something heroic and good you can probably be redeemed in some sense

of your soul—whether we're talking about religion or not, you can be redeemed even

if you were really a creep before that (at least if what you do that redeems yourself

is very major and important, as it certainly was in Star Wars).

I think we're going to see themes about parents and kids and redemption in the new

episodes as well.

In terms of empires and republics, what the movies kind of capture (and I think nail)

is that authoritarianism has a bit of an appeal.

The idea that an authoritarian leader can get something done and maybe take a little

bit of the chaos that freedom creates and then get it into some sort of management and

that can make life a little more orderly—people like that.

But it also tells us that in every human heart there is a kind of need for freedom (meaning

there isn't going to be a boot on your face) and there's going to be a capacity for governing

yourself.

And the tale of the appeal of authoritarianism, which really kind of captures what happened

in Nazi Germany and captures a little bit some of the appeal of authoritarians all over

the world including, currently, Turkey—it gets that and it gets that in a way that is

true to the arc of human history.

And the failures of authoritarianism—because people don't like a boot in their face—it

kind of lightly, but memorably, captures that as well.

So, if you're in a country that's poor and where people's property rights aren't

secure, or you go on the streets and someone might beat you up, or if you're in a country

that's doing pretty well (like the United States and some European nations) but terrorism

is a risk—or if terrorism is unlikely still you might get something stolen, or somebody

might knock you out because there's violent crime, or even if it doesn't happen to you

if you read about it in the newspaper—then you might think law and order is a pretty

good corrective.

And even if law and order means that civil liberties and civil rights will be reduced,

maybe that's a trade you'll be willing to take.

And we certainly saw that in the United States at times over the past let's say 40 years.

And while in the United States (in my view) nothing really horrific as happened in terms

of the rise of authoritarianism, the fact that there have been movements away from civil

rights and civil liberties is suggestive of something that's possible when people feel

really at risk.

So what Star Wars captures—and this makes it transcend the kind of simple dichotomy

between the light side and the dark side of the force—is it says that the Dark Side,

it does have a seductive power, either because it means that each of us can wield power if

we "go dark", or because it means that somebody at least is going to be in control

of human impulses that can threaten us.

And if the controlling power is reflecting those forces that's not so good, but some

people would rather live in an orderly society that is not day-to-day let's say unraveling

than a society that is free, because freedom suggests the possibility at least of a little

unraveling.

Why You Are Being Selfish if You Aren't Earning 6 Figures as a Spiritual Coach - Duration: 14:04.

- Hey, everybody.

Hello, I am Kimberly Maska,

founder of Spiritual Biz Bootcamp.

And hello, Spiritual Biz Success peeps.

Love you guys in my Facebook group.

So this morning I want to kind of talk about

the money piece around being a spiritual coach,

what that looks like, and I'd like to say something

that really sparks some people.

I talk about the fact that you're being selfish if

you aren't earning at least six figures

in your spiritual business.

And people go, "Well, that's selfish

that I'm even saying that,"

the fact that we want to be earning money doing what we love

appears to be a selfish thing.

So let's talk about that and why

it's a must,

why you absolutely should be earning

six figures in your spiritual business.

When we go to start our coaching businesses

as spiritual coaches,

there's all these little things around

us about money. Right?

You shouldn't charge for your gift. You need to give it

away for free,

that it's a bad thing if you're charging.

We get stuck with all this money nonsense that

gets put on us because really it has come from

somewhere, right? We weren't born thinking money was bad.

Someone told us that we shouldn't be charging and

that we shouldn't be abundant, that we're supposed to be

in scarcity, and all this other crazy nonsense.

So when we go to build our spiritual coaching businesses,

we bring that with us. And we bring that with us;

man, does that make it hard to be successful.

And I know, for me, I am really sick and tired of seeing

you guys, you spiritual entrepreneurs out there,

being broke and struggling with your business

because it does not have to be that way,

nor should it be that way. This is not what it's about guys.

You should be living in full abundance.

So when we're talking about creating income

around our business,

so many times spiritual coaches say, "Well, but

I just want to help the people. It's not about the money.

I just want to help the people. I just want to get my

message out there, and that's it."

Here's the problem with that.

There's a disconnect when we do that,

when we say we just want to help.

Well, what does that really mean?

We just want to help -- "just want to help the people."

We need to really have a business in place.

We have to have a business in place

because there has to be an energy exchange that happens.

How many times do you guys give and give and give and

give, and you don't receive, and you're out of balance, and

you become grumpy and things are really off?

We see it a lot. I see it all the time,

especially with spiritual people because we give so much

of ourselves, and then we don't receive in.

There's this out-of-balance thing, like everything's

out of whack, and that's not where it needs to be.

Everything needs to be in balance.

Obviously, nature is always in balance unless man steps in

and messes with stuff.

So nature is always in balance.

So we need to be in balance, so we're creating our

spiritual businesses. There has to be a balance of

energy of what we give and what we receive.

It's just how it's supposed to be. So if you really want

to help the people and you really want to serve,

what you need to be doing is to create

a business where you can really serve the people.

When you create the business, you're able to step out

at a much bigger level.

When someone says, "I just want to help the people,"

I'm like, "Great, do you have your spiritual business

up and running? And how much are you making

with that business?"

Here's the other thing. You need to have that energy

exchange. That energy exchange you're giving, you have

to receive. That energy exchange is going to be in the

form of money when you have a business, and you have

to have that balance.

Now, when you have this business and you're serving other

people this, what happens is they start to do

amazing things because they're believing in themselves,

and there's an energy exchange. When you give stuff

away for free, people don't use it. They don't use it.

They don't stick with things.

I've given all sorts of things away for free, and

people just don't use them. It's amazing. So --

Excuse me, guys

So you want to make sure that there's the energy exchange.

Now, when I'm talking about your business and this six

figures thing, I say if you're not earning six figures,

you're being selfish. Why?

First, that means you're not serving enough people

because if you're really serving at a high level,

then what happens -- (coughs)

Sorry.

(coughs)

This is what happens when you go live.

I'm going to take a drink of water. I'll be right with you.

Okay, so when you are really serving, you're serving

lots of people. Thousands of people.

When you're serving thousands, there's an energy

exchange. So if you're not earning six figures,

that means you're not serving at a high level.

That means you're helping one or two people.

You're not helping thousands and thousands of people.

If you were to help thousands and thousands of

people, you would be earning six figures.

That's that whole energy exchange thing.

That's what happens when you're serving thousands

of people. You're earning six figures and more.

So if you're not earning six figures, it's showing

me that you are not stepping out in a major way.

And that is selfish.

The second thing is if you're not earning six figures,

that means you're not charging enough.

You're giving stuff away for free. You're just charging

small amounts, and that shows me that not only do you not

value what you do; you don't value your clients.

This is an interesting thing.

If you aren't charging because you think your clients

can't do this or they can't afford it or they don't have,

the first thing you've done here is you've put your clients

in scarcity mode.

You've taken that energy, that self-limiting belief

you have in your head about where your clients are,

and you've given them your scarcity.

So the minute you say, "Well, my clients can't afford," or,

"I don't know who can afford that," or, "People don't have

money," you've now taken your self-limiting belief

around money and abundance, and you've given it this

energy of scarcity. And now, you're putting that energy of

scarcity on your clients.

If you're not charging enough, you're in this out-of-balance

mode again. So you're not charging, and so you're not

earning six figures, and that shows me that you don't value

what you're doing. And not only that; you don't value your

clients because you're looking down on them and saying they

don't have. They can't. They can't afford.

All this negativity and all this scarcity.

So we need to be able to hold our clients in the

highest light, and of course, they can figure it out.

Of course, they're abundant. We're all abundant.

Abundance is everywhere.

Give them the credit of seeing them at the highest

level of who they are and that they can create and

actually serve themselves.

So if you aren't earning six figures, again,

we know that you aren't stepping out enough, and now we

see that you aren't valuing yourself and

that you're really kind of like holding your customers

in low negative vibration.

We don't want to do that.

We don't want to hold them in scarcity.

If we're in scarcity, we need to deal with our own

scarcity, create our own abundance, so that we can see

that everyone else can absolutely be abundant, as well.

So then, the third part, if you're not earning

six figures, here's the thing,

you're not going to be able to give back

because when you're scarcity and you are hanging on to

your money because you don't have enough, and you're

not sure how to pay the rent, and you're not sure

where the next check's coming from, or you're not

sure how to feed the kids, or what ever it is,

when you're in that scarcity mode, you're not able to

give. You're not able to donate.

You're not able to do that energy exchange back out

into the world, where you're able to give freely.

See, when you are abundant and you're creating a life

that's six figures and beyond, you can easily

give money away. So I talk about tithing. And for me,

tithing is not to a church. Tithing is just putting the

energy back out to the universe.

So when you're putting the energy back out into the

universe, you have to have that abundance to do that.

You have to be able to give it out, and tithing is

ten percent of your income.

You can do that gross or net,

but ten percent of your income to go back out to the

universe. Where are you going to put that?

What donation are you going to make to

which different places?

The holidays are coming up. Where are you going to

donate? What does that look like for you?

Well, when you're in scarcity mode, you can't do that.

And the only time you think about donating is at

Christmas because people are in front of you saying

you have to donate for Christmas to the Salvation Army or

what have you. So we can feed people for Christmas.

That's the only time we seem to think about it -- when we're

in scarcity mode because we're like, "Oh, it's the

season to give."

Well, it should always be the season to give.

We should always have the abundance to be able to give back.

So if you aren't earning the six figures and beyond,

I know you're sitting in scarcity.

It's tough living on less than six figures.

It's how am I making the car payment,

how am I feeding the kids,

how am I paying the rent.

And if you don't have that extra money,

then you're not giving it away because you're holding

on to it because you're like, "I don't know where the

next one's coming from." We're sitting in scarcity

mode again. That doesn't serve anybody.

There's abundance everywhere, so you have to be

able to shift your mindset, and see, "I need to be

earning six figures. If I'm earning $100,000

a year, I can give $10,000 away."

Can you imagine that?

What can you do with $10,000?

How many books can you buy for kids at schools?

How many animals can you save from a shelter?

How many families can you feed this Christmas if

you had an extra $10,000 to donate?

What could you do? You want to help the people?

You want to just help the people? Start your business.

I don't know what else you're doing.

If you're working at a job that you don't like,

that you're struggling with, that you just come

home miserable and exhausted, and you're short with

your family, and all of that that happens and

comes with it when we are in a job that we don't like

and we're creating money when we're not happy...

When we create money when we're not happy, that

money never ever, ever satisfies us because we feel

like we're owed something.

So create money from a place of being in

alignment with Source. That's the only way we should be

creating money. Be in alignment with Source.

Create the abundance that you deserve.

Be able to create the abundance so that you can

give back and be able to know that you are

creating abundance because people love

what you're doing.

Money is love, guys.

When people love things, what do they do?

They buy them. When people love what you do,

what are they going to do?

They're going to pay you for what you do.

When people really love you,

you get an energy exchange.

You get an energy exchange of money.

So you need to be able to see that if you're

aren't creating a six-figure income with your

spiritual business, something's very wrong.

And you really need to be out there

living your purpose,

being happy. You're here to be happy.

You're not here to be struggling and be in

scarcity. You need to be living the

amazing life that my clients are living,

that I'm living being able to serve and

create abundance, being able to really help

people reach their dreams.

When you can start helping people reach their dreams,

oh my goodness, it's like amazing.

One of the coolest things is when I see my

Spiritual Biz Boot Camp clients send me images of

their clients sending them cards saying, "Thank you for

what you do."

My clients tell me all the time, "Thank you for what

you do so I can create my spiritual business,

live in abundance,

live in just waking up and knowing that it's my

purpose every day." That's the most incredible feeling,

and that's the gift I want everybody to have,

is to wake up, roll out of bed, and know that you're doing

something absolutely amazing.

So if you aren't creating that six-figure business

right now, you really need to evaluate and

look at yourself and be like, "Do I want 2017

and 2018 to look the same?"

I don't think so.

We're here to expand, and we're here to grow.

2018 should be amazing for you.

What is your plan to make 2018 amazing?

Are you going to be working at the same

job being miserable,

getting up in the morning, sitting in traffic,

working with a boss you don't like?

Is that what your 2018 is going to look like?

Are you finally going to take the leap take the

jump to live your purpose?

What are you going to do in 2018?

What does that look like for you?

Are you ready to take the jump and live your purpose

and get out there and know that you're really

helping the people?

You really want to help the people? Help them by

creating your business, taking your gifts,

getting them out there,

having faith and belief in them, holding them at their

highest levels so that they can create

abundance to be able to do an energy exchange with you

so that you can change their life.

That is what we are here to do on this planet.

There is a shift happening. We know it. We're all

awakening. We see people around us every day.

What is your role in this shift?

Are you going to continue to sit

in where you are and

wonder what it would be like to live your purpose?

Or are you actually going to get up and do something

about it? And if you're ready to get up and do something

about it, and you're ready to make your 2018 rock so that

it's not as sucky as your 2017 --

maybe your 2017 wasn't too bad -- but if you're ready to

really live your purpose,

get out there and create that six-figure business,

book a call with us. My team and I are always here to

help you really think through, "What does that look like?"

We call it a Breakthrough Session for a reason, because

every ne always has a major "aha" and breakthrough.

We're here to serve you, but be ready.

Make sure this is what you really want.

This is not for people who are curious,

who are wondering.

When you're serious, I'm seriously looking for the

5,000 spiritual entrepreneurs that are going to change

the world in the next five years.

So if you are one of them, reach out to us.

I will post the link here, or you can go to

kimberlymaska.com/apply, and we will help you

work through that.

I will post a link here for you guys to watch my

free training, and if you feel that we are a vibrational

match at the end of that training, you can

book your call.

So guys, really make 2018 count.

You're here for a reason.

You're here to be abundant.

You're here to create an amazing life for yourself and

your family. It's time to do it.

I don't know what you're waiting for.

So I'm Kimberly Maska.

your consciousness around money,

spirituality, and business,

and I will see you guys later on in the Facebook

group, so have a beautiful day.

Bye, guys.

What's a Daily Lunch Break Like in Hanoi City? | LIFE IN VIETNAM - Duration: 2:44.

Good afternoon everybody, it's Cory here.

I am in the Cau Giay district of Hanoi city, here in Vietnam.

So this street is called Duy Tan, it's not a very long street.

But it's lined by a lot of corporate kind of buildings and it's nice to see this area

being developed slowly. You can see a lot of buildings in and around the neighborhood

and they're under construction. And I wanted to share what lunch time looks like here in Cau Giay.

All around the world, office workers love their lunch breaks.

In Hanoi, it's no different.

I've been working in this area for over a month now, and one of my favorite things to do

is people watch during my lunch break.

People usually leave in groups from their office to eat at any one of the many restaurants across the street.

Most will eat quickly and go straight into chill mode.

There are dozens of cafes around to cater to everyone's need for caffeine and relaxation.

This all sounds like a normal lunch in any major city around the world, right?

Well there's one thing that stands out to me as uniquely Vietnamese

and it's all the sidewalk chilling.

Little plastic stools and tables on the sidewalk offer sunflower seeds to snack on

and iced tea to sip on.

Workers chat with one another, play on their phones, and lounge about until it's time to head back to

their office for a power nap. Vietnam definitely goes into siesta mode at noon.

There's also quite a number of vendors selling fresh fruit right from their bicycles and carts.

It's a great way to buy something healthy to munch on back at the office.

The hustle and bustle of lunch break finishes just as quickly as it started.

The surrounding neighborhood quickly quiets down as people migrate back to work.

So that's it guys, I hope you guys enjoyed what a normal weekday lunch break looks like here in Hanoi city.

And yeah, if you guys have any questions or comments, leave them down below.

How to Add Music to iPhone [wirelessly! 2018] - Duration: 3:54.

How to add music to iPhone wirelessly!

Hello Friends!

Welcome back to AppleFrendly.

Video #69

Today, you'll learn how to add music to iPhone from Computer OR Mac wirelessly.

We will not be using any cable to connect iPhone to Computer.

We will be using iCloud Music Library to transfer music from Computer to iPhone wirelessly.

And to use iCloud Music Library, you need to have an Apple Music Subscription.

This tutorial will also help to manage music manually for Apple Music Subscribers.

So, if you're an Apple Music Subscriber, let's get started!

Firstly, you'll need to enable iCloud Music Library on your iPhone as well as iTunes.

So, to enable it on your iPhone,

head over to Settings

tap Music

and make sure this 'iCloud Music Library' toggle is ON.

And now let's see, how to enable it in iTunes.

So, Launch iTunes on your Computer or Mac.

Head over to 'Edit' option

Hit 'Preferences'

A new pop-up window will appear.

Now enable 'iCloud Music Library' by selecting the checkbox.

That's all!

Now hit 'OK' to save the changes.

And as soon as you hit OK, you should see iTunes starts loading your iCloud Music Library.

So, this is the Apple Music collection that I've on my iPhone.

Now iTunes has downloaded it from iCloud Music Library.

Now, let's see how to add music to iPhone from computer or mac.

So, supposedly, these are the songs on my computer.

And I want to add them to my iPhone.

So, select & hold the song and drag it over SONGS section in iTunes Library.

So, now we have added this song to iTunes Library.

And to add to it to iCloud Music Library,

just right click the song

and select 'Add to iCloud Music Library'

As soon as you hit that option, you should see iTunes uploading your song to iCloud Music Library.

On the other hand, if you look at your music library on your iPhone, you should see that

your iPhone is downloading the same song that we are uploading to iCloud Music Library from iTunes.

And there we go!

We've got the song on iPhone that we just added from a computer using iCloud Music Library.

So, that's how easy it is to add music to iPhone wirelessly!

And a small tip before closing.

When you want delete this song, you can 3D touch the song,

select 'Remove...'

and you should find two options.

Now, if you select 'Remove Download', it'll simply delete the song from iPhone.

But it'll be there in your iCloud Music Library.

You can re-download it again any time later.

And if you select 'Delete from Library', it'll delete the song from your iPhone

as well as iCloud Music Library.

And you'll again have to go back to your computer or Mac and add it to your iTunes

to transfer it back to iPhone using iCloud Music Library.

So, that is the basic difference between these two options.

So yeah, that's all for today.

If this video helped, give it a big thumbs up and share it with your friends and loved ones!

And, who is your favorite artist on Apple Music?

Do let me know in the comments below.

I'll see you in my next video.

Till then, take good care of yourself.

And consider subscribing to the channel if you haven't already.

So, Enjoy and Thank you for watching!

Netgear Arlo Review - Best Budget Security Camera - Duration: 13:29.

I've been getting alerts in my neck of the woods that there have been break ins, fortunately

that hasn't happened to us

But my wife and I have been wanting some peace of mind the problem is I'm cheap.

Really cheap, super super cheap ya.

So I've been on the lookout for something that can keep us safe but also something that

doesn't break the bank

Enter arlo

But at well over $150, does Arlo deliver?

I'm Titus, this is The Search For Awesome, let's find out

Arlo is a smart security camera

Kinda like a security system, except without an alarm for criminals or for scaring the

poo out of your cat that accidentally trips it.

And it doesn't have a monitoring company behind it that calls the authorities for you

when an emergency is detected

So why would you want one of these?

Well I've had mine for about 6 months.

And it's kinda great.

I bought it, because I'm really cheap.

And because we were going out of town for 2 weeks and something about just locking up

the house and just leaving it for 2 weeks just felt wrong.

If something happened, we'd have no idea.

These smart security cameras like Nest, Canary, Amazon Cloud Cam and Arlo aren't alarm replacements,

but what they do offer is way for you monitor your own house instead of an expensive alarm

company

To put it simply, if I'm not home and my Arlo detects motion or some strange noise,

I get a notification on my phone and I can then pier in and see what's up.

If someone I don't know is in my home, I can then call the police myself

It also records video of the incident in case you need it later.

It stores the video clips in the Arlo Cloud so even if an intruder sees the camera and

steals your Arlo, you still have footage of the incident in the cloud.

It's powered with an included AC adaptor and connects to your network via wifi.

Setting up Arlo is as easy as plugging it in, downloading the Arlo app, and following

the short easy guide.

I don't know how I feel about the design.

Its plastic and looks nice, but it looks like a camera.

I've noticed it can sometimes make people visiting us uncomfortable with a camera staring

at them in my living room.

I think I like the approach of Canary with their design better.

Theirs looks sorta like a Bluetooth speaker, but I see the pros and cons to both.

It looking like a camera could scare off a criminal, but not looking like a camera might

mean the police can get before they realize they're being monitored.

It offers a 130-degree field of view for a great view of the room or rooms you're trying

to monitor.

It also features 2 way voice so I can hear what's happening in my house and I can talk

through the camera from my phone.

I've used this for non security reasons too.

I was trying to call my wife but she wasn't picking up.

So I just pulled up The Arlo app and she was just sitting on the couch.

She was doing something productive I'm sure.

With the voice feature, I could talk to her through the camera and she could talk back.

The audio quality isn't great, but she could hear me and I could hear her

You could also use this to tell your dog to get off the couch if that is so desired?

Really cool.

Really practical.

Fortunately, I haven't had any criminals in my home but I have some *eh hmm* ideas

on how you can deal with a situation with one with just this feature alone.

*Shotgun cock*

Sorry I'll be down in a minute *groans*

*poop noises*

Aw come on man,

I shouldn't have had taco tuesday

That is gross

*Fart noise*

What is wrong with you

It unpleasant for both of us I assure you.

*lame dog bark*

You can unhh use those at your own risk

The Netgear Arlo Q also supports night vision and although it looks really creepy - it works

surprisingly well.

This is a pitch black room and I can see what's going on with a surprising amount of accuracy.

Even things pretty far from the camera are visible

It has what they call activity zones so if you know a particular area the camera is seeing

that might trigger a notification from Arlo, then you might want to zone that part of the

image off.

For instance if you have a small dog you might want to zone off the lower areas of the room

so the animal doesn't trigger Arlo over and over.

I have mine set up where it mostly sees the living room and part of the kitchen so that

way it can see the front and back door of my home.

The only issue here is if it's brighter in the living room than the kitchen or vis

versa, I can't see into both rooms.

Arlo supports Alexa as well, so you can access your security camera without even having to

use your phone.

You can say alexa show me Arlo and if you have Fire TV, you can see it on your big screen.

Or if you have an echo show you can see it right on that.

And if you have multiple cameras it's as easy as saying the name of each camera

Arlo supports 4 modes which are really flexible and make it easy to monitor your home.

You turn it on and off manually as you come and go, but it's 2017.

I don't want to do things, I want things to be done for me

There is geofencing mode that uses your phone's GPS to turn Arlo on and off.

So when you're home, your phone let's Arlo know.

I've had some success with that feature, but when I'm in my house my phone has trouble

with GPS so that wasn't foolproof for me.

So I use schedule mode which lets you set when you want Arlo armed for each day specifically.

So while I'm at work it's armed.

While I'm sleeping it's armed.

And when I'm home during the weekend, it's not armed.

You can even mix the modes and use geofencing and schedule mode in tandem but again I've

had mixed results with geofencing.

And let's say you're out of the country and want someone else to watch your home.

You can grant access to someone easily and give them permission to see whatever camera

you want while you're away.

Then when you're back you can take that access away, it would be a little weird to let your

friends pier in your house as they please…

Arlo isn't perfect though, in fact every alert I've gotten from Arlo detecting something

it has been a false positive… but that's a good thing though…right?

Lots of things can trigger Arlo, for instance on the 4th of July you'd think an army of

wrongdoers marched into my house and ripped it clean with all the notifications I got.

Thunder as well can trigger Arlo.

And the light outside changing suddenly can trigger it as well.

See this sudden change of light triggered Arlo.

To be fair these occurrences are pretty rare for me.

I get maybe 1 false alert every 2 weeks or so.

Also I've had the camera get locked up on me twice in the past 6 months.

Basically going into the Arlo app showed no cameras were connected.

When I got home the Arlo showed a purple light instead of the normal blue telling me something

was wrong.

It was simple fix though, just unplugging and plugging it back in did the trick.

What's cool is Netgear offers a full suite of Arlo security cameras if you want more.

They offer a baby monitor, wireless battery powered cameras with batteries that according

to various reviews, lasts months for each charge.

There is even a Arlo Q Plus which offers ethernet and an sd slot for local video recording.

And the Arlo Pro line have alarms you can set to go off if you'd want something like

that.

Some of these cameras require their hub at an additional price to work so keep that in

mind.

So why should you buy Arlo Specifically?

Arlo isn't unique, other cameras have features just like this.

so why did I choose this one vs the competition?

There are couple of things I looked when I bought a security camera.

One thing is who makes it?

The company behind a product is almost as important as the product itself.

If they close shop in a month, your smart security camera could be a paperweight.

But Netgear is a billion dollar company so Arlo has a pretty strong company behind it.

So check there.

Also, Netgear is a company that makes routers and other devices requiring good security.

So Arlo should be pretty secure from people hacking into your camera and getting to see

into your home.

More on that later though.

Another thing I look at when buying any tech, is is it popular?

That might surprise you, but when I buy new tech, I found there is safety in numbers.

If something goes wrong with a gadget and there is a defect, 50 million people being upset

about it is much more powerful than just you and 3 guys named fred.

Even the smallest issue that has come up with an iPhone has made national news.

And the last thing I look at is value.

How much does it cost, what does it offer for that price tag and do people seem to like

it?

I believe I bought mine for $160 about 6 months ago.

Quite a bit for a small security camera.

But one thing that got my attention is what you get for free vs the competition

Arlo will record anything motion or audio activated and store it for 7 days in the cloud

for up to 5 cameras for free.

In that 7 days you can download anything Arlo picks if you want to keep for longer.

Now it does it in 15 second increments, so it starts recording for 15 seconds then after

that 15 seconds is done it will start recording another 15 seconds if it still detects somethings.

And if it still detects something it just keeps recording another 15 seconds, and then

another, and then another.

This way if you miss a notification that it detected something on your phone, you're

not completely out of luck, you can watch exactly what it caught.

To put things into perspective, Nest only gives you 3 hour snapshots which lets you

see pictures, not video clips, but pictures that were taken in the past 3 hours.

Of course you can upgrade to their Basic or Extended packages to get video saved to the

cloud, but starting at $10 a month why not just get a dedicated security system if you're

going to spend that type of money.

And other competitors like Canary and Amazon aren't much better offering to save video

clips for 1 day without paying or full clips for 30 days if you're willing to shell out

$10 a month.

For Arlo if their free 7 days of cloud storage isn't enough, they offer 30 day storage

for up to 10 cameras or 60 day storage for up to 15 cameras for an additional monthly

fee.

The last thing I want to talk about hacking.

I don't think feel that you should to be concerned with that with Arlo, but I feel

that I should explain some things

If a hacker got a hold of your camera, they could see into your house without you knowing

it and perhaps do something more malicious.

I'm not an expert on network security, but I know some people that are so I asked them

how they would feel about Arlo and what they would do to prevent from being hacked.

They told me they would setup a VPN for any camera they might use which is a really secure

way of connecting to it so hackers can't get into it.

I researched trying to use a VPN with Arlo and unfortunately it doesn't seem that you

can do that which is sorta a bummer but if you know of a way you can do it, please let

me know in the comments because I would really love to know.

But I don't think it's all bad and despite the suggestion from my really smart friends,

I actually feel pretty comfortable with Arlo.

I mentioned before Netgear makes Arlo and Netgear also makes routers and other things

that require really good security.

And because Netgear has a background internet security it probably means hackers have less

of a chance accessing Arlo but that's in my very limited opinion.

So here's what I do to give myself just a little more comfort.

I just have the Arlo in the living room and not somewhere private like my bedroom or my

bathroom.

If anything is happening that I don't want to be seen like I'm watching tv in my underwear

or Leslie is exercising or something like that, we just take the camera and turn it

around to face the wall.

To be honest I don't think a hacker will be able to get a hold of it, but even if they

did in my case there not going to see anything that would make us blush.

With all of that said, I think the Arlo Q is a tremendous value and great option for

anybody looking for a security camera.

It's not the highest tech security camera on the market, but it has all of the features

that I could possibly need for a product like this

6 months after purchasing this, I feel like it has given my wife and I what we really

wanted from it, peace of mind.

Right after I posted our last video, we hit a massive milestone and I wish I had time

to cover it in that video but let's celebrate it right now.

We hit 1,000 subscribers.

Just incredible.

My goal this year was to hit 1,000 subscribers and we hit it a month early.

And not only that as of the posting of this video it looks like we're about to hit about

1,600 or we might have already hit it.

I just want to say each of you that have watched these videos, each of you that have subscribed,

each of you that thought this channel was worth your time.

I hope I'm not disappointing you.

Let me know in the comments if I am and how I can improve and just thank you.

Thank you for giving this channel a shot.

It just feels like a dream is coming true.

I don't know what's coming next, but I think that the future is bright for The Search

for Awesome.

And I just want to thank each of you that are supporting me by watching these videos

and just leaving awesome comments.

Some of you people are so nice like leaving some of the nicest comments I have ever seen.

I've been getting comments like, "I was shocked when I saw you only had blank subscribers."

And I just - those are so nice.

Like you don't have to do that.

Thank you guys seriously.

It means the world to me.

And I guess I'll see you guys in the next video and I guess I'll see you at 10,000 in 2018.

That feels really intimidating now that I've just come out and said it.

I'm going to go work on that.

Well hi there!

I can see you're down on your luck, I don't think you'd be in my home right now if that

weren't true.

Let me ask you something.

Have you ever heard of a pyramid scheme?

I have some great news for you because this isn't one of those.

Picture more of a triangle.

And I'll be at the top, you'll be in the middle and all of your Facebook friends will

be at the bottom.

Where'd you go?

I'll take that as a maybe.

Let's get started!

Hello Real Fluency friends, I'm Trisha and I'm here to teach you Real English

used in Real Life so that you can

reach Real Fluency Now.

And today you will learn more English to help you understand the TV show Rick and Morty.

Let's get started with the vocabulary from the short video.

First, the title. The episode titles of the show are parodies of TV shows movies and

other pop cultural things. A parody is some work of art for example something

written a song or a video that imitates something else in a funny way.

The title of the episode I'm going to teach you about this time is Anatomy Park.

This is a parody of the movie Jurassic Park. Anatomy Park is supposed to be an

amusement park built inside a person's body.

The first line from this one is Rick saying: "Okay, alright if I sounded a little defensive it's because

Pirates of the Pancreas was my baby.

The word defensive comes from the word defend

which means to protect. To feel defensive is to respond to someone in a certain

way because you think they are criticizing you. What you didn't see in

the in the short video but is in the full episode is that Morty has just

walked into anatomy Park and said: 'Oh my god this is insane!'

Then he names a couple of other rides or attractions he sees and says Pirates of

the pancreas. Then Rick says 'you have a problem with that last one Morty?' and

Morty says he was just reading them out loud as he sees the signs.

That's when Rick responds with 'If I sounded a little defensive...' because when

he said 'you have a problem with that last one Morty' he did sound a little

defensive. If you can watch the whole episode it will make a lot more sense.

Pirates of the Pancreas is a parody of the Disney attraction or ride called

Pirates of the Caribbean and also theres movies with the same name

although some people will pronounce it as Caribbean instead of Caribbean you

can do whatever you want. The pancreas is the part of our bodies that releases

insulin and is related to digestion and diabetes. My baby - by this Rick means it

is something he created that is very special to him it means a lot to him

he's proud of it and doesn't like it if someone says something bad about it.

The next line from Rick is I-I got a lot of pushback when I pitched it Morty. I guess

I'm still a little defensive. Let's just find Dr. Bloom, alright? I-I'm picking

up a distress signal in the liver Morty. Rick stutters a couple of times here at

the beginning with I-I and later with I- Im. Push back - this word can be spelled

either with or without the hyphen. In this sentence it is being used as a noun it

means opposition or resistance to something. Or in simpler English to not

like something and an attempt to stop it. Pushback is also a phrasal verb meaning

to oppose or resist something or to try to stop it and it can also mean to

change the date of something to a later date as in 'I may have to push back the

day I had planned to put this video on YouTube because I am very late with

finishing it'. Pitched it - to pitch something is to talk to someone to get

them to do something you want them to do. It is often used as in a sales pitch.

For example I am planning to make an online course teaching the English used in Rick

and Morty. If I started talking to you about how great of a course it is and how

much it will help you and tell you about how you can sign up for it, that would be

a sales pitch. Pitch can also mean to throw or to like get rid of

or dispose of something or in music how high or low a sound is not the loudness

or the volume. It can mean something to say like high or low that type of high

and low. It can also mean a few other things but those are the main meanings that

you will hear. In this sentence 'I got a lot of pushback when I pitched it Morty'

he is saying that when he tried to convince people that Pirates of the

Pancreas was a good idea that they didn't like it. We don't really know who

they are because they don't tell us that but maybe they are some sort of

investors because earlier Rick says Anatomy Park is is a business venture.

Of course it's all just silly anyway so it really doesn't matter.

Picking up a distress signal - so Rick says I'm picking up a distress signal in the liver Morty.

Pick up is a phrasal verb with a few different meanings and this sentence it

means to be aware of or to detect something. A distress signal is a signal

or message that there is a problem. So he is saying that he has found out or knows

that there is a distress signal coming from the liver. Also notice that he

doesn't say picking up he says more like "pickin' up" which is an example in

English of reduced speech. Pick up can also mean to improve like'Tthe sales of

my English course picked up after I made more videos for YouTube' or to learn

something quickly 'he picked up English very quickly after watching American TV

shows' or to like to get or collect like 'I need to pick up my daughter from

school soon' also it can mean like to receive some type of electronic

broadcast which is what how it's used in in this episode. Related is the term

pickup line which is something one person might say to another if they are

interested in them in a romantic way for example if they want to ask someone out

on a date it is a way to start a conversation with the other person.

Usually it is men using pickup lines with women. And it can be spelled with

with or without a space and with or without the hyphen in it. Next he says 'Proceed to

liver. To proceed means to continue or keep doing something in this case to

move towards to liver. Then you hear a recording that says 'Mind the gap' now

this is a warning to be careful when getting on or off of a train because

usually there is a gap or like a space between the ground people are standing

on and the train. It's there to remind people to be careful. Next Rick says

'Liver is under maintenance. Ruben's seen some rough years Morty''

Now when he said 'Liver's under maintenance' that's a contraction of the

apostrophe s it's a contraction for 'liver is'. The full sentence would be "Tthe

liver is under maintenance." but of course people don't always talk in full

sentences. For something to be under maintenance means something is being

repaired because it's broke or being improved to make it better. Now Ruben is

a name that's a person's body that they are in, whose body that they built

an amusement park in. In this case they say Rubens again with an apostrophe s

and this is a contraction for Reuben has. Rough years means difficult times in

other words his life has been difficult for many years. I think Reuben is

supposed to be an alcoholic and that is why his liver has problems. In pop

culture for some reason there is this idea that people who take jobs being

Santa Claus at malls and other places are people who have a lot of problems in

their life maybe a drinking problem. That theme is in a lot of TV shows and movies.

Now the next line, this is my favorite from the show, Rick says 'You don't agree

to have a theme park built inside you if your life's going great.' Now one of

the things when he says this he doesn't say inside you he says that

more like insidju, insidju. That is an example of connected speech in

English where the sometimes some of the letters change their sound a little bit

so instead of sounding like inside you it sounds like inside ju. He said if

your ife's going great in this case this is again life's with an apostrophe

s and it's a contraction for life is. And then he says going great except he

doesn't you listen he doesn't actually say going great

he says goin' great which is again another example of reduced speech in

English then Rick says 'The only monster here is alco -belch- holim. That is an

animatronic werewolf. Now when he says alcoholism he burps or belches in the

middle of it. Burp and belch mean the same thing. It may be a little harder

for you to understand what he says when he burps in the middle of it and

animatronic is a sort of simple robot that moves a little bit they are used a

lot in theme parks amusement parts those types of things. That's all for today's

lesson but don't leave yet in a few seconds you will see the link to watch

the short video from Rick and Morty and also to get a list of the vocabulary

words and other notes from the lesson.

Goodbye, and remember with hope anything is possible!
