Trump Turns Mueller Investigation Upside Down – DOJ Discovers 'Over 10,000 Texts…'
We previously reported that FBI operative Peter Strzok was fired after allegations surfaced
that he held and acted on biases against Trump.
This was disturbing given the fact that Strzok played a key role in several investigations
with the potential to directly or indirectly impact Trump, his campaign or his presidency.
Now, it's been revealed that Trump's Department of Justice is reading through "over 10,000
texts" between Strzok and Lisa Page after the reasons behind his firing came to light.
Fox News reported that DOJ officials confirmed that they are going through the messages so
they can hand them over to the House Intelligence Committee.
Strzok worked as an FBI counterintelligence agent before he was reassigned to the FBI's
human resources division after the discovery of his anti-Trump texts with Page, with whom
he was having an affair.
Page also briefly served on Mueller's team and has since returned to the FBI.
DOJ officials said that the process of going through the 10,000 texts could take "weeks,"
and that the thousands of text messages between Strzok and Page span over "several months."
This comes as the committee is threatening to move forward with a contempt resolution
against top DOJ and FBI officials barring an imminent breakthrough, after the agencies
did not comply with a deadline to hand over long-sought information that goes well beyond
text messages.
House investigators have zeroed in on Strzok, as they have long believed him to be a key
figure in the chain of events when the bureau, in 2016, received the infamous anti-Trump
"dossier" and launched a counterintelligence investigation into Russian meddling in the
election that ultimately came to encompass FISA surveillance of a Trump campaign associate.
House Intelligence Committee Chairman Devin Nunes, R-Calif., has been trying to get documents
and witnesses from the DOJ and FBI to determine what role, if any, the dossier played in the
move to direct the surveillance.
Nunes expressed skepticism with how these have events have unfolded this past weekend,
saying that after Strzok's anti-Trump texts were revealed, the DOJ expressed a "sudden
willingness to comply with some of the Committee's long-standing demands."
"This attempted 11th-hour accommodation is neither credible nor believable, and in
fact is yet another example of the DOJ's disingenuousness and obstruction," Nunes
added.
A DOJ spokeswoman told reporters on Sunday that officials will "continue to work with
congressional committees to provide the information they request consistent with our national
security responsibilities."

We previously reported that FBI operative Peter Strzok was fired after allegations surfaced
that he held and acted on biases against Trump.
This was disturbing given the fact that Strzok played a key role in several investigations
with the potential to directly or indirectly impact Trump, his campaign or his presidency.
Now, it's been revealed that Trump's Department of Justice is reading through "over 10,000
texts" between Strzok and Lisa Page after the reasons behind his firing came to light.
Fox News reported that DOJ officials confirmed that they are going through the messages so
they can hand them over to the House Intelligence Committee.
Strzok worked as an FBI counterintelligence agent before he was reassigned to the FBI's
human resources division after the discovery of his anti-Trump texts with Page, with whom
he was having an affair.
Page also briefly served on Mueller's team and has since returned to the FBI.
DOJ officials said that the process of going through the 10,000 texts could take "weeks,"
and that the thousands of text messages between Strzok and Page span over "several months."
This comes as the committee is threatening to move forward with a contempt resolution
against top DOJ and FBI officials barring an imminent breakthrough, after the agencies
did not comply with a deadline to hand over long-sought information that goes well beyond
text messages.
House investigators have zeroed in on Strzok, as they have long believed him to be a key
figure in the chain of events when the bureau, in 2016, received the infamous anti-Trump
"dossier" and launched a counterintelligence investigation into Russian meddling in the
election that ultimately came to encompass FISA surveillance of a Trump campaign associate.
House Intelligence Committee Chairman Devin Nunes, R-Calif., has been trying to get documents
and witnesses from the DOJ and FBI to determine what role, if any, the dossier played in the
move to direct the surveillance.
Nunes expressed skepticism with how these have events have unfolded this past weekend,
saying that after Strzok's anti-Trump texts were revealed, the DOJ expressed a "sudden
willingness to comply with some of the Committee's long-standing demands."
"This attempted 11th-hour accommodation is neither credible nor believable, and in
fact is yet another example of the DOJ's disingenuousness and obstruction," Nunes
added.
A DOJ spokeswoman told reporters on Sunday that officials will "continue to work with
congressional committees to provide the information they request consistent with our national
security responsibilities."

Austin, Texas 1851
As promised in the Compromise of 1850, the United States Congress pays the state of Texas $10 million in bonds.
Flash forward to February 1, 1861, and both Texas citizens and members of the Texas state legislature vote for the state to secede, or leave the United States.
This was, of course, right before the American Civil War began.
In 1862, as the war raged on and Texas fought on the side of the Confederate rebels, it began to run out of money.
And so, the Texas legislature cashed in its remaining bonds to buy war supplies.
To make sure the bonds wouldn't be purposely made worth less by the U.S. Treasury-due to the fact that, I don't know, Texas was now a foreign nation at war against them!-the Texas legislature hid where the bonds came from, and didn't even have the governor at the time, George Washington Paschal, sign them.
I probably should say that Paschal had remained loyal to the Union during the war.
Two brokers named George W. White and John Chiles bought 136 of those bonds.
After the Confederates surrendered and the Civil War ended, the Union forced Texas, as well as all other former rebel states, to create a new state constitution and new state government loyal to the United States.
That new state government found about those bonds sold to White and Chiles, and now wanted them back.
So they sued them. Oh, and check it.
Texas wasn't messin around.
They took White, Chiles, and the rest of the bond holders directly to the highest court in the land, the Supreme Court, on February 15, 1867.
White and Chiles, however, argued that the Texas government had no right to sue in the Supreme Court because Texas wasn't even a part of the United States when they bought the bonds.
But the Texas government argued that they never really left the Union.
Sure, Texas seceded, but Governor Paschal never approved it.
But wait, there's more!
White and Chiles also argued that looking at this case was out of the Supreme Court's jurisdiction since Texas residents, in 1867, were still under military rule and thus had no representation in Congress nor constitutional rights.
The Court heard arguments in February 1869.
The Court wondered...could Texas reclaim those bonds?
Heck, was Texas even eligible to be seeking them with the Supreme Court?
As in, were they or weren't they a state during military rule during the Reconstruction period after the war?
The Court announced their decision on April 12, 1869, voting 5 to 3 in favor of Texas.
The Court argued Texas did have the right to sue for those bonds back.
They also argued that when the Texas legislature voted to secede from the Union during the Civil War, um, yeah, that didn't count.
Throughout the war, the Court argued Texas was still a state, and that they couldn't have seceded if they wanted to.
Chief Justice Salmon Chase, a former Secretary of the Treasury for Abraham Lincoln, wrote,
"When, therefore, Texas became one of the United States, she entered into an indissoluble relation."
Chase did argue that while Texas still owned the bonds, it done messed up letting them go, and had to pay White and Chiles to make up for their troubles.
Justice Robert Grier wrote the dissent, arguing that Texas wasn't a state during the rebellion, and that Congress should be determining this anyway, not the Court.
Texas v. White is that Supreme Court case that always gets brought up when talking about how states can't secede from the rest of the country.
Many argue that that the Constitution doesn't let states secede, and this case often backs up their claims.
So even though the majority of Texans wanted Texas as part of the Confederate States of America, and entirely new country, and despite the fact that Texans fought against and killed Union soldiers during the Civil War, they never technically left the United States.
Sure, they thought they did, but it was pretend, right?
Wait, so they were fighting themselves then? Like, like in a civil war?

You know I've heard a lot of experts say that fear isn't real that is such a
bunch of baloney fear is so real in fact there are probably things that you're
afraid of doing right now in your life in your relationships at work and the
fact that you're afraid that's robbing you of all of the experiences that you
want to have in your life I mean if you're afraid to fly that's gonna limit
your ability to travel and see the world or go visit friends if you're afraid of
public speaking that's gonna really limit your ability to express yourself
and share your ideas if you're afraid of talking to your boss or asking for a
raise that directly impacts how much money you make or what if you are
dreaming of starting a business or you've already started a new business
but you're afraid to talk to people and you're afraid to share your business
with people I mean fear is something that stops us all and that's why I'm
here to talk to you because it doesn't have to fear is real but I am gonna
share a secret weapon that I have used for years to beat every single fear that
used to stop me now first before we get into the secret weapon I just want to
cover a few facts about fear what it is what it isn't and some things that you
may not know about fear so first thing fear is a physical state in your body
that is exactly the same as excitement let me say that again fear and
excitement are the exact same physical state your heart races you might sweat a
little bit you might feel tightening in your chest
you might feel a pit in your stomach you have a surge of cortisol it's basically
the way that your body goes into a hyper aware state because it's readying for
action now what's the difference between fear and excitement really simple the
only difference between fear and excitement is what your brain is doing
as your body is all agitated if you're excited you
brains going oh wow this is going to be so cool to ride this roller coaster if
you're afraid your brains going oh no way there's no way I'm doing that this
is dangerous get out of there don't do that it's saying something different so
what's critical about understanding this is that we're gonna use the fact that
your mind is either working for you for excitement or against you with fear to
your advantage I'll tell you about it in just a minute
how you're gonna do that second thing I want you to understand is that you may
have heard the advice feel the fear and do it anyway you may have heard the
advice oh just try to calm down think positive thoughts it doesn't work does
it and there's a reason why it doesn't work so let's go back to fact number one
when you're afraid your body's in a state of arousal on agitation and your
heart is racing and you're all like amped up and you're hyper aware of
what's going on and you're freaking out a little bit what is it like when you're
calm you just kind of chilled right you got like this low arousal state very
very difficult to go from a state of agitation of being all jacked up and
excited and weirded out uh to a kind of state it doesn't work it's like trying
to stop a train by throwing a boulder on the tracks it's gonna make the train
jump off the tracks it's gonna cause a disaster in fact they've proven in
research that when you try to ignore your fears it actually makes them worse
and they've also proven in research the positive thinking alone also can make
your fears work worse so what do you do what do you do when you're about to go
talk to your boss and you feel afraid what do you do when you have to get on a
plane and you're actually terrified of flying what do you do if you got to give
a presentation and you are afraid of public speaking
here's what you're gonna do you're gonna use a strategy the same one that I use
that has helped me beat every single fear and turn me into somebody that is
terrific when it comes to a high-stress situation this is how you do it you're
going to use my five-second rule in combination with what I call an anchor
thought and that is going to reframe what your mind is doing so that your
mind goes from feeling agitation and making you afraid to reframing it from
agitation to excitement it works like magic now I have used this technique for
years literally for years and one of the ways that I want to introduce you to it
is I want to take you backstage I want to take you backstage to a speech that I
delivered this year and what you're gonna see is you're gonna see me behind
you know the major set I'm about to walk out you can kind of hear the crowd
roaring my introductory video is playing my body is in a state of arousal
I am literally my heart is racing my arms are sweating like it's like you're
gonna see this I'm gonna tell you about it and you're gonna watch me use this
same technique I'm gonna teach you to reframe my nerves into excitement check
this out all right I'm about to go onstage they're 7 that was a people out
there and it's so exciting because what they don't know is they're about to
learn the five-second rule and their lives will never be the same again now I
got to tell you my heart is racing my armpits are sweating I have the exact
same physiological feeling as when I'm afraid but I'm not afraid I'm excited
excitement and fear is the exact same thing in your body it's just what your
brain calls it here's a trick that's proven by science that I use every time
I speak when I start to sweat when I start to have butterflies when I start
to have my heart race I say I'm excited and I'm excited to get out there I'm
excited to talk to these people I'm excited to share the five-second rule
and what that does is it sends a message to my brain that tells my brain
my body's all agitated and excited and that way I don't feel afraid
remember excitement and fear exact same thing in your body the only difference
is what your brain calls it now I want to give you one more example just to
make sure that you really get how you can use this so a lot of you have
written to me about your fear of flying and I can really relate to that fear
because I used to have the exact same fear but I used this same strategy to
conquer it here's how you're going to do it so first things first if you've got
to do something that really makes you nervous or that you're afraid to do
before you're about to do it come up with an anger thought what's an anchor
thought well an anchor thought is something that's going to anchor you so
that you don't escalate any situation into a full-blown panic attack or into a
situation where you screw things up it's a way for you to anchor yourself so you
maintain control over what you're thinking and how you behave so here's an
example with flying it's important when you're creating an anchor thought to
pick something that is in the proper context of what you're afraid to do so
for flying pick an anchor thought that has to do with the trip that you're
taking so if I'm boarding a plane to fly back home to Michigan an anchor thought
might be a picture in my mind of my mom and I walking on the shores of Lake
Michigan where I grew up that's a thought that makes me happy it makes me
excited and it's also related to the trip that I'm taking if you have a
conversation that you need to have with your boss pick an anchor thought about
how you feel after having that conversation maybe it's you picking up
the phone and calling somebody that you you love and saying oh my gosh it went
so well or you know you walking out of the meeting and feeling like yeah I
survived that conversation I feel pretty good about myself so now that you have
your anchor thought you're ready to beat the fear how you're gonna do it is this
so let's go back to the example of the plane I'm on the plane applying to
Michigan we hit turbulence my body is going to start getting
agitated right I'm starting to get nervous my heart starts to race one of
two things can happen I can't control how my body might feel but I can always
always control what I'm thinking about and I can always control how I act and
so can you so when I'm on a plane and the turbulence hits 5 4 3 2 1 that's
step one and it's essential and the reason why using the five second rule 5
4 3 2 1 is essential is because that is how you switch the gears in your mind
you awaken your prefrontal cortex and you trigger your brain that you're now
in control of your thoughts you've interrupted the fear you've settled your
thoughts and now your brain is ready for that anchor thought so then what I do
after I go 5 4 3 2 1 is I insert the anchor thought that I've already come up
with before the flight I start thinking about walking on the beach and being
with my mom and my dad and I start telling myself I'm so excited to walk on
the shores of Lake Michigan I'm so excited to see my parents
now something remarkable is going to happen in your brain because you've
interrupted the fear and because you've used the five second rule-- to assert
control and awaken your prefrontal cortex and because you have an image
that can textually make sense to your brain because you're flying to Michigan
you know your brain does your brain goes huh that was excited to go to Michigan
because my body is in a state remember the first fact fear an excitement exact
same thing what's the difference between fear and excitement what your brain is
saying using the five-second rule in an anchor thought you can actually switch
the gears in your mind and reframe the thoughts of fear into thoughts of
excitement and because you have a vision that makes sense based on what you're
doing your brain buys it you just tricked your brain now Dana used this
technique she says she's never been so calm when she's been flying and Sarah
used it too now Sarah rotus she was petrified of flying but utilizing the
five-second rule in five four three two one with an anchor thought check out

the tour amazing but here's what's really amazing if fear stops you this
will change your life and for those of you that are afraid of public speaking

nursing colleagues and that was something that was a life goal and also
something she checked off her bucket list fear is real you can't control the
feelings that are gonna rise up in your body when you're on a plane or when
you're talking to your boss or when you see somebody that's attractive and you
you really want to go over and and talk to that person but you can always
control what you think and you can always make a decision about the actions
you're gonna take so the next time you feel afraid 5 4 3 2 1 go to that anchor
thought tell yourself you're excited and that my friend is the power of how you
beat fear in five seconds left

Trey Gowdy has been a thorn in Hillary Clinton's side throughout recent years, as he has never
fallen for any of her jabber.
This previous end of the week, Gowdy indicated Clinton that he has not disregarded her when
he said that he supposes her campaign may have laundered cash to pay for the scandalous
Donald Trump dossier.
"I'm not an election law expert, but the good news is you don't have to be to understated
the absurdity of believing that you can launder all of your campaign money by just hiring
a law firm," Gowdy told Fox News host Chris Wallace, according to Conservative Tribune.
"Imagine if you and I were running for Congress, and we just hired a law firm and said 'Hey,
you go do all the oppo, you go buy all the television, you go buy all the bumper stickers,
you go hire all the experts, and we're going to launder all of this through a law firm,'"
he proceeds.
"I can't think of anything that defeats the purpose of transparency laws more than
that."
The Clintons have dependably thought they were exempt from the laws that apply to everyone
else, so they've figured they could escape with illicit activities.
Gowdy, be that as it may, isn't having any of it.
"I am also interested in sharing some memory tricks with folks at the DNC because no one

"The only conversation I've had with Robert Mueller, it was stressing to him the importance
of cutting out the leaks with respect to serious investigations," Gowdy explained on Sunday.
"I readily concede I'm in an increasingly small group of Republicans.
Bob Mueller has a really distinguished career of service to our country.
I don't think any of your viewers can think of a single thing he did as the FBI director
that caused them to have a lack of confidence in him."

with the [smallpox] vaccine virus, either by being vaccinated or by being in close contact
with a person who was vaccinated.� Get it?
The FDA is admitting that those with certain prior health conditions who pick up the smallpox
virus, as a result of vaccination, are at exceptionally high risk.
AMONG THOSE PRIOR HEALTH CONDITIONS IS: �IMMUNE SYSTEM PROBLEMS.�
That simply means: weak and compromised immune systems.
And yet�during the years 1966-1980, a massive smallpox eradication campaign was carried
out in Africa, under the auspices of the World Health Organization.
Roughly 100 million doses of the smallpox vaccine were given to Africans, MILLIONS OF
WHOM ALREADY HAD SEVERELY COMPROMISED IMMUNE SYSTEMS.
How much devastation was wrought by this vaccination campaign?
The World Health Organization, in 1980, celebrated the eradication of smallpox on the African
continent�but was that what really happened?
Or was it this?
The visible signs of smallpox receded, but people with already-compromised immune systems
began dying in large numbers.
(Is THAT what would soon be called AIDS?)
The FDA, in the statement I quoted above, unwittingly implied what researchers have
known for decades: the so-called smallpox eradication campaign in Africa was one of
the most dangerous medical interventions in history.
In the late 1980s, a respected biologist with close knowledge of the Africa eradication
campaign, told me, off the record, that after the World Health Organization celebrated their
�victory� in Africa, they held a very secret meeting in Geneva.
At this meeting, it was decided that the smallpox vaccine they deployed in Africa would never
be used again.
I asked him why.
Because it caused cases of smallpox, he said.
So the African eradication campaign had a double effect.
In some people, the vaccine caused smallpox, which it was supposed to prevent.
In others, it wrought extreme devastation and death without giving the appearance of
smallpox.
More lies, more widespread destruction from the vaccine establishment.
Need further proof?
In 2001, out of nowhere, the US federal government announced there was a potential bio-terror
threat: the use of the smallpox virus as a weapon.
Therefore, vaccination clinics would be set up all over America, and �everyone� should
show up and receive the smallpox vaccine.
As encouragement, President Bush got his shot on national television.
But then, even mainstream doctors and researchers began contacting reporters and telling them
there was a serious problem: the dangerous vaccine could injure and kill people.
The program was quietly allowed to fade out.
The massive number of vaccination clinics never materialized.
About a year after US Secretary of Health and Human Services, Tommy Thompson, had warned
the country about the threat of a smallpox bioterror attack, he showed up to say he was
recommending that cabinet members should NOT get the shot.
And that was that.
End of story.
A national vaccine program canceled.
Retracted.
Buried.
When do you see that happen?
Virtually never.
However, the smallpox vaccine was too dangerous.
�The same vaccine that was shot into the bodies
of 100 million Africans.

NASA's plan to save Earth from a giant asteroid - Duration: 6:29.
In 1954, Ann Hodges was hit by a meteorite.
"What time of the day was it?"
"It was 12:45."
"12:45."
"And this comes through the roof and hits you."
She was napping,
when the rock crashed through her ceiling
and bounced off the radio into her stomach.
Because it was small, her injuries were minor.
"The first person ever to be hit by a meteorite.
Imagine that."
But much bigger objects have collided with Earth.
65 million years ago,
a rock ten kilometers wide
slammed into the Gulf of Mexico.
An event that likely caused dinosaurs
to go extinct.
Elsewhere, mammoth meteorites have been discovered
everywhere from The US
to Russia,
and blasted craters in North America,
Australia,
and Africa.
Falling objects from the sky
have always fascinated humans,
but they have also made us fearful,
making us wonder whether someday
a giant asteroid
could come for us.
"Run!"
In movies like Deep Impact and Armageddon
those fears are played out.
[clock ticking]
"One minute!"
And heroes save the day.
"We all gotta die right?
I'm the guy who gets to do it saving the world."
"YEAHHHH!"
You might think this only happens in Hollywood,
but that's not exactly true.
There is a small chance, a
of a large asteroid hitting Earth.
So scientists are getting ready,
just in case.
"Asteroids" are hunks of rock
that weren't big enough to become planets
when the solar system formed.
Smaller asteroids are called "meteoroids"
and when they fall through Earth's atmosphere
they become "meteors".
If they make it to the surface,
they are called "meteorites".
Between 1988 and 2017,
NASA counted over 700 fireballs
created by objects entering our atmosphere.
In order to detect asteroids,
NASA takes multiple pictures of the night sky
and uses computers to scan for moving objects.
As Earth orbits,
scientists make several observations
from different locations
to detect how close the asteroids are to Earth.
Here, the nearest objects are labelled in green.
At least 16,000 of them
have been classified as "near-Earth",
meaning they orbit within roughly a third
of the distance from the Sun.
And based on the object's speed and brightness,
scientists can map a trajectory
to predict whether it will collide with Earth.
The impact energy of a 10-meter object,
just a little smaller than a school bus,
would be 100 kilotons.
But the larger the object,
the nastier the impact.
A meteorite just a little larger
than The Great Pyramid at Giza,
at about 150 meters,
would generate 288 megatons of energy.
For reference,
the number of megatons in the payload of the
Castle Bravo hydrogen bomb
was only 15.
But asteroids don't need to hit Earth to cause damage.
In 2013, a 17-meter-wide meteor
exploded over Chelyabinsk, Russia
before it ever reached the ground
and the resulting shockwave
released about 440 kilotons of energy
that damaged structures and injured over 1,500 people.
Following that event in Russia,
US politicians called on NASA
to ask about the threat of future collisions.
"I said, 'If we saw one coming toward Omaha,
what could we they about it?'
[Scientists] said they could use a laser."
"First of all, it would not be practical
to have a laser powerful enough to split it in half."
Their questions sounded like
plot lines for a new blockbuster,
but their ideas weren't actually that far off.
"How far inland could a
reasonably sized asteroid
make water come in?"
Scientists have analyzed
how asteroid impacts would kill people
and getting hit by the "ejecta",
meaning space rock and other debris it kicks up,
is one of the least likely ways to die.
The most lethal cause is
violent wind generated by the impact blast,
followed by scorching heat,
and massive tsunamis.
"The odds of a near-Earth object strike
causing massive casualties
and destruction of infrastructure
are very small,
but the potential consequences are so large
that it makes sense to take the risk seriously."
"All agents are go."
In Armageddon, annihilation is avoided
by nuking the killer asteroid.
But in real life, our ability to prevent impact
depends on how big it is and when we detect it.
A 140-meter-wide space rock
is large enough to destroy a city
and if it were on a path to collide with Earth
in less than a year,
the only thing to do would be
evacuate the impact zone.
But if we are lucky enough
to spot an asteroid seven to ten years out,
NASA would have enough time
to try deflecting the object,
which they could do a number of ways.
First, NASA could launch a spacecraft to
act as a battering ram
and if the asteroid is far enough out,
it would only need to be pushed a few centimeters
off course to avoid hitting Earth.
Right now, NASA is in the early stages of "DART":
The Double Asteroid Redirection Test,
which will try out this approach
by trying it on a non-threatening asteroid,
called "Didymoon",
which will pass near Earth in 2022.
Another method would be using something
called a "gravity tractor",
which pulls the asteroid in a new direction
and points it away from Earth.
Theoretically, a spacecraft could do this
by hovering near an object to create
a slight gravitational attraction
that could be used to redirect the asteroid.
The third option would be to go full Hollywood
and use a nuclear device to vaporize part of the surface.
"What you can do, in principle,
if you have a very powerful laser,
is to cause jets of material heated by the laser
to fly off of the asteroid
and that is essentially the equivalent of
a jet engine pushing the asteroid off course."
So far, NASA hasn't found any asteroids
big enough to threaten Earth,
but we haven't been searching that long.
There is still lots of space to survey
and the big one might be on its way,
we just haven't found it yet.

Many Americans have grown sick and tired of Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton meddling
in politics, even after their time has come to an end.
After what Obummer just decided to say about President Donald Trump however, the already
existing anger towards Obama has blown into a full rage.
President Trump is no stranger to criticism, and it's not hard to see why.
When we've had managerial, deceitful, and corrupt politicians bought out by big businesses
for the past several decades, when a man who can't be bought, bribed, or bargained with
comes into play, the only thing left to do is to slander him.
Disgraced former-President Obama however, took this slander to a whole new level.
He compared President Trump, who's trying to get our economy back on track, make America
a superpower in the world, and prioritize our own citizens over foreigners, to, you
guessed it, Adolph Hitler.
Daily Mail reports:
Barack Obama appeared to compare Donald Trump's presidency to Hitler's rise to power during
a speech in Chicago on Tuesday.
The former president was speaking at an event thrown by the Economic Club of Chicago at
a Hilton hotel when he made the remarks.
Without mentioning the current president, Obama told the gathered audience of 1,800:
'We have to tend to this garden of democracy or else things could fall apart quickly.
'That's what happened in Germany in the 1930s, which despite the democracy of the
Weimar Republic and centuries of high-level cultural and scientific achievements, Adolph
Hitler rose to dominate.
'Sixty million people died.
So you've got to pay attention.'
The comments were part of a wider warning to the audience not to grow 'complacent'
and take democracy for granted.
He also spoke of a 'nativist mistrust' which has 'swept the world', in the words
of a Chicago Business reporter who attended the event.
Although not explicitly directed at Trump, his comments have been widely interpreted
as an attack on the president and his America First agenda.
Elsewhere in the Q&A session, Obama spoke of the importance of the US's role in international
development.
'Things don't happen internationally if we don't put our shoulder to the wheel.
'No other country has the experience and bandwidth and ideals…If the U.S. doesn't
do it, it's not going to happen,' he said.
In another apparent jibe at the media-wary president, Obama said that during his time
in office, he 'understood the principle that the free press was vital.'
Trump's fans reacted angrily to comments.
Among them was game show talk host Chuck Woolery who called the remarks 'despicable'.
Others said they were 'un-American' and 'disgusting'.
His remarks came a day before Trump declared Jerusalem the capital of Israel, sparking
fury among Muslims around the world and feeding concern for escalated tensions in the Middle
East.
On Thursday, after news of Obama's remarks spread, Trump fans said the move proved he
was a friend to Jews and separated him from the Nazi leader.
They did not acknowledge the anger the decision fueled among billions of Muslims around the
world much less in Palestine where residents burned the American flag in response to the
announcement.
Hitler became Chancellor in January 1933 after rising through the democratic ranks of the
Reichstag.
Two months later, the first concentration camp was opened.

The Untold Truth Of The Stanford Prison Experiment - Duration: 7:40.
The Stanford Prison Experiment is possibly the most famous psychological experiment of
all time, an insane role-playing game gone horribly wrong thanks to nylon stockings,
fire extinguishers, and a sadist nicknamed John Wayne.
So what really happened behind those prison walls?
Here's a look at the untold truth of the Stanford Prison Experiment.
The experiment begins
With funding from the US Office of Naval Research, Dr. Philip Zimbardo began The Stanford Prison
Experiment in August 1971 to study the effects of prison life and examine the power dynamic
between inmates and guards.
As he later wrote in his book The Lucifer Effect, Zimbardo wanted to know
"...[if] you put good people in a bad place, do the people triumph or does the place corrupt
them?"
He began by putting an ad in the paper for volunteers who would be paid $15 a day to
participate, about $93 bucks in today's cash after inflation.
After selecting 24 guinea pigs, Zimbardo and his assistants converted the basement of Stanford's
Psychology Department building into a makeshift prison, then flipped a coin to decide which
test subjects would be guards, and which would be prisoners.
It would turn out to be a fateful decision.
"F--- this experiment"
"And F--- Dr. Zimbardo!"
Welcome to prison
The experiment began when real-life cops pretended to arrest the students playing prisoners.
They were hauled to the actual Palo Alto Police Department, booked, fingerprinted, and then
blindfolded and tossed in a holding cell.
Once they were transferred to the fake prison, things got a lot worse.
The prisoners were ordered to strip naked, doused with a spray, forced to wear dress-like
garments without underwear and nylon stockings as hats, and fit with a chain locked around
one ankle.
The students playing guards were also encouraged to make up their own rules, leading to 17
strict guidelines the prisoners were forced to live by.
Prisoners were only allowed to refer to themselves by number, and guards would randomly wake
them up in the middle of the night with screeching whistles and force them to exercise.
Zimbardo even got into the act himself, playing the prison superintendent, where he always
sided with the guards and encouraged them to "create a sense of fear" among the inmates.
But the prisoners soon began fighting back.
The prisoners rebel
On the second day, the prisoners went on strike, removing their hats and the numbers from their
uniform and blocking the cell doors with their cots to keep the guards from entering.
That's when things got even darker.
The guards on duty called for reinforcements and used a fire extinguisher to force the
inmates away from the door.
After forcing their way in, they removed the cots, forcing inmates to sleep on the floor,
and refused to let the prisoners eat or brush their teeth.
They also threw the ringleaders of the insurrection into solitary confinement, and forced others
to clean toilets with their bare hands, while spreading rumors that some inmates were informing
on the others in the hopes of getting preferential treatment.
Finally, the guards stopped letting prisoners use the toilets at all, forcing them to do
their business in buckets which they weren't allowed to empty, turning the whole fake prison
into a giant open sewer.
Prisoner #8612 loses his mind
Less than 36 hours into the experiment, Douglas Korpi, aka Prisoner #8612, apparently lost
his mind from the stress.
One of the ringleaders during the rebellion, Korpi had been thrown into solitary confinement,
and was a target of harassment from the guards.
According to Zimbardo, Korpi began screaming and crying, although the doctor and his staff
initially thought he was just faking it in an attempt to escape.
Eventually they let him out, fearing for his mental health.
Korpi later claimed he faked it all, telling SFGate,
"The breakdown I had was a manipulation to get out of that damn experiment."
But in a documentary made by Zimbardo, Korpi told a different story.
"It was an experience of being out of control.
Both of the situation and my feelings."
Meet John Wayne
One guard in particular was noted for his sadistic tendencies.
His real name was Dave Eshelman, but the prisoners called him "John Wayne," though in fact he
consciously modeled himself after the villainous prison warden from the Paul Newman movie Cool
Hand Luke, going so far as to use a Southern accent when speaking to the prisoners.
Eshelmen orchestrated all sorts of terrible hazing, forcing the prisoners to play leapfrog
so their gowns would ride up and expose their privates.
He once ordered two prisoners to act as "Frankenstein" and the "Bride of Frankenstein," forcing them
to embrace while saying, "I love you."
As his final infamous act, Eshelman forced several of the prisoners to simulate intercourse.
Tellingly, the other guards didn't stop his actions.
"i started to get so insane but still other people didn't say anything."
According to Eshelman, though, he's not really sadistic at all, but actually a good guy who
was simply trying to expose
"...the evils inherent in a prison-type environment."
He told Stanford Magazine,
"I set out with a definite plan in mind, to try to force the action, force something to
happen, so that the researchers would have something to work with."
From Eshelman's perspective, any blame lies with Zimbardo.
"Nobody was telling me I shouldn't be doing this.
Professor is the authority here.
You know, he's the prison warden.
He's not stopping me."
Things fall apart
Over the course of less than one week, five students playing prisoners had to be released
due to severe psychological issues caused by the abuse of their guards.
Perhaps the worst was the case of Prisoner #819, who broke down weeping.
When Zimbardo allowed him to rest in a nearby room, however, the prison guards lined up
all the other inmates outside the door and forced them to chant "Prisoner #819 did a
bad thing," over and over again until the poor guy was reduced to a blubbering wreck.

He was eventually replaced by a new guinea pig, Prison #416, who was so horrified by
what he saw in the prison he immediately staged a hunger strike in protest.
Guards responded by tossing him into solitary confinement.
The experiment had gone off the rails, and the only man who could stop it had lost all
perspective.
As Zimbardo put it himself,
"I had become the superintendent of the Stanford county jail.
That was who I was.
I'm not the researcher at all."
Luckily, someone with perspective showed up on day five.
Zimbardo's then-girlfriend, Christina Maslack, was an assistant professor at Berkeley.
After showing up to help with the experiment, she was appalled to see the prisoners chained
together with paper bags over their heads.
She confronted him that night.
"We had a long argument, at the end of it he decided 'this is it, I have to shut down
the prison.'
So then the next day, everything stopped.
The experiment was supposed to run for two weeks.
It had only lasted six days.
Aftermath
Shortly after the experiment ended, the horrific uprising at Attica prison took place, thrusting
Zimbardo and his research into the spotlight.
Researchers are still arguing about what it all means.
Zimbardo himself has said it goes to show how normal people can be turned evil by circumstance,
telling the BBC,
"The study is the classic demonstration of the power of situations and systems to overwhelm
good intentions of participants and transform ordinary, normal young men into sadistic guards…"
Others aren't so sure, as some critics think Zimbardo unintentionally skewed his results
with his methods, which may have attracted participants who were much more aggressive
and less empathetic than the general populace.
Plus, Zimbardo wasn't just a scientific observer, he actively participated, and even encouraged
violence and brutality, corrupting his data in the process.
Tellingly, when psychologists conducted a similar experiment in 2001, they remained
observers, and the guards never got anywhere near as aggressive as John Wayne and his cohorts
did at Stanford.
The significance of the Stanford Prison Experiment came into question again in 2004, when a group
of American soldiers tortured and humiliated Iraqi prisoners at Abu Ghraib prison.
Zimbardo was called to testify as an expert on behalf of one of the defendants, who claimed
the system encouraged the guards to act violently.
Zimbardo agreed, saying
"Abu Ghraib was the Stanford Prison Study on steroids."
The defendant still received eight years behind bars, however, which some might consider an
ironically fitting epilogue to the saga of the Stanford Prison Experiment.

It's a bump on the eyelid that grows when an oil gland gets clogged.
Unlike a stye, it's usually painless and feels rubbery
What Causes a Stye?
The problem is bacteria.
It infects an oil gland inside the eyelid or the hair follicle of an eyelash.
Those germs can come from anything that touches or rubs your eyes, like your hands or eye
makeup.
You may tend to get more styes during allergy season when eyes get itchy.
You're also more likely to get them if you have blepharitis, a type of inflammation around
the edges of your eyelids.
What Causes a Chalazion?
When glands around the eyelids make oil that's too thick or their openings get blocked, oil
builds up and inflames the area, causing a lump.
Usually your doctor can't tell exactly what caused it, though certain skin types and conditions
like blepharitis may make them more common.

Infection can cause a small "pus spot" at the tip of a stye (shown here) that looks
like a pimple.
It can make your eye painful, crusty, scratchy, watery, and more sensitive to light.
It may even make your whole eyelid swell.
A chalazion usually doesn't hurt and may make the eyelid swell early on.
But you may not even notice it at first.
Don't Try to Pop Them A stye can look very much like a pimple.
That may tempt you to squeeze it until it pops.
Don't do it -- that can spread the infection to your eyelid.
Just leave the area alone.
Both styes and chalazia usually go away by themselves in a few days or weeks.
Warm Compresses Speed Healing Soak a clean washcloth in hot water and put
it on your eyelid for 10-15 minutes at a time, 3-5 times a day.
This can help soften and unclog a chalazion or stye.
If it's a chalazion, you can gently massage the area (don't squeeze it) with your finger
to help it along.
Just make sure your hands are clean.
A daily warm compress also may help prevent styes or chalazia if you get them regularly.
When to See a Doctor Most styes and chalazia go away on their own
and don't need treatment.
But get your eye checked if it doesn't start to get better within a few days, it grows
really fast, or starts to bleed or affect your vision.
Also, if it starts to spread to the white of your eye or you see redness in your cheeks,
see your doctor ASAP.
Those could be signs of a spreading infection.
At the Doctor Your doctor can usually diagnose a stye or
chalazion just by looking at your eye, sometimes under a light with magnification.
If a stye is big and painful or hasn't gotten smaller after 1-2 weeks, she may drain it.
She'll numb the area, then make a small cut to let the pus out.
In some cases, doctors prescribe an antibiotic cream to put on a stye.
If it's a chalazion, you may get a steroid shot to ease some of the swelling.
Prevention: Cosmetics If you already have a stye or chalazion, take
a break from your eyeliner, mascara, and other cosmetics until it heals.
You can prevent them if you throw away old eye makeup.
It's best to replace it about every 6 months and not to share it with other people.
Also, wash it off each night before you go to bed so it won't block your pores and
hair follicles.
Prevention: Contact Lenses If you wear them, make sure they're clean.
Your doctor can tell you the best way to disinfect them.
It's also important to wash your hands thoroughly before each time you handle them.
Try not to wear your contacts while you have a stye or a chalazion.
Prevention: Wash Your Hands Hands often carry germs that can get in your
eye and cause a chalazion or stye.
Keep them clean with soap and warm water, or use an alcohol-based hand sanitizer if
you can't get to a sink.
It's tempting to rub your eyes when they're itchy.
Try to leave them alone.
Think about using allergy medication to help with the itch.
