to three hours and we can test the doneness of the cake by poking a skewer

into the center of the cake and if it comes out clean our cake is done!

This easy fruitcake is fruity nutty rich and flavorful and they are moist and I

just love the combination of fruits and nuts and barely enough cake batter to

We're in McMinns Lagoon, we were lucky enough to buy a block here. We have five acres which is great. Heaps of room for the kids to run around.

We have a huge catchment area across the Top End. Our closest major hospital is Jakarta.

So we get a large amount of trauma patients coming to Royal Darwin Hospital.

We see a lot of tropical disease that you don't see anywhere else. Lots of opportunity for education and career progression through that.

Taighen and I talked about, if we ever talked about potentially moving home is will we actually get jobs

as good as we currently have down south. The answer is probably not.

I think it's worth coming up and at lease giving it a go.

I think it is a perfect place to be raising children.

Liquibase : How to Automatically Update a Database - Duration: 7:09.

Hi,

I'm Thorben Janssen from thoughts-on-java.org and today; I want to show you

how you can integrate Liquibase

into your application

so that it automatically updates your database.

That is especially interesting when you build smaller applications

that don't run in a highly regulated enterprise environment.

In these situations,

it's often not possible to run the update process yourself

and there might be no operations team which executes the SQL scripts.

So, you need to run the database update automatically

when you start your application.

There are several ways to do that.

If you're building a plain Java application, you can use the Liquibase API

to trigger the update.

And it gets even easier, if you're using a CDI container,

For example in a Java EE application server

or Spring.

I will show you all 3 approaches in this video.

Let's start with the plain Java environment

Before you can use the Liquibase API,

you need to add the required dependencies to your application.

These maven coordinates add the Liquibase core component

in version 3.5.3 to your project.

After you've done that, you can implement the database migration in 3 steps:

First, Get a database connection

Then, Initialize Liquibase

And then, Run the update

Getting the database connection obviously

depends on your environment and technology stack.

In this video, I will show you how to do that with Hibernate 5.

If you're using Hibernate,

you already configured the database connection

in your Hibernate configuration.

You probably also want to use Hibernate's database validation

to make sure that your mapping

fits the database.

You can do that by adding Liquibase to your startup process

and execute the update

before you create a SessionFactory.

You first need to build a StandardServiceRegistry

and use it to instantiate a MetadataSourcesobject.

I don't provide any configuration when calling these methods

and Hibernate reads the hibernate.cfg.xml file

from the classpath.

In the next step, you can use the MetadataSources object

to get an instance of a ConnectionProvider service

and retrieve a java.sql.Connection.

Hibernate created this connection

based on the configuration data in the hibernate.cfg.xml file.

You can then use the Connection object

to create a Liquibase-specific JdbcConnection.

Now you've everything you need to initialize Liquibase.

You first need to create a Database object

and provide the name of the changelog file,

a ClassLoaderResourceAccessor

and the database object.

Then, you can call the update method with a reference

to the context you want to use for your database update.

After you've updated your database,

you can follow Hibernate's standard bootstrapping process.

You therefore use the MetadataSources object

to build your MetaData

and build a SessionFactory.

That's all you need to do to integrate Liquibase

into your Java SE application.

Every time you start the application,

Liquibase will check the database

and perform the required updates.

Integrating Liquibase into your Spring Boot application is extremely easy.

You just have to add the Liquibase Core to your classpath.

That's all you need to do.

The Liquibase integration will automatically load the master changelog file

from the db changelog directory

The CDI integration is also a lot easier than integrating Liquibase

into a plain Java SE application.

But it requires a little more work than the Spring Boot integration.

You need to add these 2 dependencies to your project

and include them in your deployment.

After you've done that, you need to implement a

CDI bean with 3 producer methods.

Let's get into the IDE and take a closer look at it.

Here you can see the CDI bean.

It implements a producer method

for a CDILiquibaseConfig,

a DataSource

and a ResourceAccessor object.

The CDILiquibaseConfig object

contains a reference to the master changelog file.

So, please make sure that you reference a file

within your deployment unit

or that you use an external path

which you can access from within the CDI container

on all machines.

I explained the content of this file in more details

in the first video of this series.

The producer of the DataSource object is simple.

It just returns the object that I injected up here.

And in the producer of the ResourceAccessor object,

I use the class loader of the current bean

to instantiate a new ClassLoaderResourceAccessor.

That's all you need to do.

When you deploy this application into a CDI container,

Liquibase will run during the deployment

and update the database.

That was probably a lot easier than you expected

when I told you that you need to implement 3 producer methods.

Chuchu Ma, a software engineer at Google, was found dead in the San Francisco Bay.

She was just 23-years-old.

The body of a young Google employee was found floating in the San Francisco Bay on December 10, according to authorities.

While 23-year-old Chuchu Ma was reported missing the same day that her body was discovered, not a lot of details have been released at this time.

The beautiful woman appeared to have led quite a successful life during her short time on earth, working in software engineering for such companies as Google and Yahoo.

Here's what we know so far:.

Her Naked Body Was Found Lying Face-Down in the San Francisco Bay.

According to a tweet from the Sunnyvale Department of Public Safety (DPS), the Santa Clara Coroner's Office identified the body found in the San Francisco Bay as that of Ma.

The tweet reads:.

The @SCCgov Medical Examiner has confirmed the identification of the body found along the Bay Trail as that of 23-year-old Chu Chu Ma.

Ma was reported as missing from Mountain View.

Our investigation is ongoing awaiting the results of the autopsy report.

"NBC Bay Area's SkyRanger captured footage of several police cars, officers and divers at the scene," the station reported.

"A woman's naked body was floating face down in the water.".

Although authorities are spelling the woman's first name as "Chu Chu," she spelled it as "Chuchu" on her Facebook and LinkedIn accounts.

The Investigation Is Ongoing & Foul Play Has Not Been Ruled Out.

A passing bicyclist found Ma's body on Thursday morning while on a trail, according to Sunnyvale Department of Public Safety Officer Shawn Ahearn, as reported by KTVU.

Her body was subsequently recovered by Santa Clara Sheriff's Department dive team.

While the circumstances are not known, foul play has not been ruled out and her body was found without clothes on.

Officials stated that this is an ongoing investigation and that they're awaiting autopsy results.

She Was Described as an 'Excellent Software Engineer' by a Google Spokesperson.

"Chuchu was an excellent software engineer in our developer product team.

We are devastated to learn of her passing and our deepest condolences are with her family and friends," a Google Spokesperson told NBC Bay Area.

Her LinkedIn account states that she worked for the internet leader for a year and six months.

She Graduated From the University of Texas at Austin.

According to her LinkedIn profile, Ma received a "Bachelor of Science (B.

), Computer Science," with a "3.

96/40" grade point average.

Before working for Google, the woman was an "Undergraduate Teaching Assistant" at The University at Austin, teaching "CS 373: Software Engineering.

In addition, she previously worked at Yahoo and Telogis as a software engineering intern, as well as STEMed Labs as a "curriculum developer and tester.
