Hi world! It's Celeste here. Can you believe that it is Christmas!!!!!!!! It's Christmas Day.
I hope you are having a wonderful time doing whatever it is that you're doing
on Christmas. In fact, do you like my beanie? I was trying to get a Santa's hat
but I couldn't find it but I think this is pretty good. I kind of match the tree
don't you think?
In this day and age Christmas has a special meaning for everybody.
For some people it's about celebrating Jesus
and his entrance into the world and so it has a faith meaning to it.
For some people it's about celebrating Santa, and it's about the children,
and it's about the presents and you know, making sure that they have a wonderful time.
For some people it's about the food. Come on now... It's about the food. Some people
you're all about that sugary goodness, you're all about that fatty goodness,
you're all about that alcoholic goodness; and whatever it is, that is cool, if it's
about the food. For some people it's none of the above
and for some people it is all of the above and for some people they don't
even celebrate Christmas at all. Regardless of your beliefs and values
attached to Christmas, I'm pretty sure we can all agree on the one thing, that it is
the perfect season to be thankful. Now, I want to let you in on something,
Thankfulness is a powerful tool.
Thankfulness gives you perspective.
Thankfulness improves your mental and emotional well-being.
Thankfulness is a weapon against insecurity.
Thankfulness challenges our self-seeking attitudes
and ideals that we may have, so hey, there's just a couple of reasons why we
need to be thankful in this season. If you could find some time today, later on
today, later on tonight maybe, during the week sometime;
take a few moments by yourself, put your phone down
put it away, whatever you need to do, maybe put it on airplane mode, but try
and take 5 to 10 to 15 minutes for you just to think about your year. Think
about your life come up with a few reasons why you can be thankful in this
Christmas season because like I said, I believe it's going to be a powerful tool
for you . And so, without further ado,
I'm going to tell you the five things that I'm thankful for.
So the first thing that I am thankful for is my best friend and
my husband Lou. Now he is an awesome guy. I am so thankful for him in my life for
the support that he gives me, the friendship that he gives me, he is my
number one cheerleader, and I am just super thankful that our our lives and
our paths crossed when when they did, when I used to be in New York City. So
I'm super thankful for my husband.
Secondly, I'm thankful for my faith.
I'm thankful for Jesus in my life. Now for some of you, you may want to tap out in
this part, you don't want to hear about it, but maybe
you do and that's fine too. But for me, my faith is really important and it comes
from a personal place, not necessarily a religious place, but you know,
when I was 16, that's when I became a Christian,
and the love of Jesus has really changed my life, ever since I encountered that
And so, I might talk about that in another video, but let's move on.
The third thing I'm thankful for is my life.
I'm thankful for my life. Sometimes there are moments where you can look back in your
life and you can think "Man that was a close call I don't know if I would still
be here today" you know. Like I think back to my early 20s and there was a moment
where I was in my car and I was on the top of a mountain
and it was um, and I was literally wrestling with all these thoughts of
ending my life basically, and it's something I haven't
really talked much about before but I've never forgotten that part of my life
I've never forgotten that season of my life, never forgotten that memory, because
it was like I said, it was a time where I was wrestling with my life and I was
thinking when I was on top of that mountain that whatever I was going
through at the time and I can't actually even remember the situation, but I was
thinking thinking to myself "If I drive in my car down this mountain top, as I
drive down, I could just veer off, I could just bring the car off the edge, the
cliff " and I'm so glad that I never went through with that you know, and so I'm
saying I'm saying here now, that I'm thankful for my life. I'm thankful for life.
The fourth thing that I am thankful for is friends! I love our friends. I love my
friends. I'm thankful for friendship in my life and I'm thankful for all the
great guys and girls in my life you know, that you know offer me their
friendship and offer me their love and support and time and fun stuff, good
stuff,we have a blast together. It's good.
The fifth and the final thing that I am
thankful for is my health. I love the fact that I can walk, I can talk, I can
think, I have my hands, I have my feet, my heart is pumping, all my organs are
working, everything is functioning as it should, and as I finish 2017, I am so
thankful for my health and where it's at. As we finish up I hope that you
were encouraged by those five things that I'm personally thankful for in my
own life. Maybe you can take some time and you can think about what you are
thankful for because it may be very different from my list; but either way
just know that thankfulness is a very powerful tool.
Use it, because you are going to benefit from it. Peace and love!
