Youtube daily report w Jun 30 2018

if you've ever wanted to play overwatch as a hamster and wanted to learn to fly

around the map like that little spider hamster man that you could be today

you're in luck I'm going to be bringing you some really

insane ham and roll outs my name is Nathan and welcome to Blizzard guides,

before we get into the roll outs there's a few things that I need to establish

beforehand so that you can do this a bit easier first thing is that when you're

trying to do these roll outs you always want to have the hook error more towards

the longer side if the ground pushes you and forces the rope to be shorter you'll

still be able to make a lot of these roll outs if your rope is too short

though you can't make it any longer so just as a general tip make sure that you

leave your rope a bit longer the only team that you really want to use a

shorter rope is that when you're trying to get a quick burst of momentum but

this isn't really going to apply with the roll outs also you can sometimes use

that ground slam ability to gain just a little bit of range on your jump which

can be very useful so if you need it you can always use that I recommend that you

do practice these roll outs in a custom game before trying them in game because

you'll probably mess them up a lot more than you'd like to also I recorded all

this gameplay in this video myself but I saw these routes on the subreddit

Hammond rollouts and wrecking ball rollouts so you guys should definitely

go check those out it'll also be giving credit to all of the users who posted

the routes these featured in the videos are the best ones I could find but there

are also other good ones in this sub at number 10 some Li Zhong rollouts the

first one comes from user toilet assassin on reddit showing us how to

contest a point on Gardens

next we've got reddit user Yoshi brownie 12 giving us an alternate route to

contest point with and lastly we've got this really powerful flank on night

market that I happen to discover myself

at number nine we've got a really powerful will sky route from user

autistic on reddit bringing you number eight Kings row toilet assassin shows us

another route to get those pesky widows off of high ground next up we've got a

route that I also ended up discovering myself it's just the classic last point

flanked on a tech allowing for quick and easy alt on King's row

coming in at number seven a strong but difficult ileus flank to contest point

with from user artistics once again next up at number six some Dorado flanks user

birch a so shows us how to get behind the enemy lines and then back

then user Rocksmith two to five gives us an anti Widow route and lastly raw

yogurt gives us a really quick way to jump the choke point and surprise the

enemy backline at number five is some temple of Anubis spawn routes and flanks

user Spyros 42 gives us a way to get behind the enemy lines and on to the

widow spot for defense

l phallus it gives us a classic rollout to contest point maintaining your ground

slim as well this is pretty important so that you can use it if you need it

with number four we've got some I can wall flanks and methods to attack the

unsuspecting enemy user Barroso gives us a quick and easy way to surprise the

enemy's Widow a narwhal teaches us how to get behind the enemy lines

spider-bite shows us a really sneaky way to grand slam on the enemies at choke

this one is actually really really interesting because it uses a new

mechanic that people have discovered to ground slam on slope points so that you

get a bit of extra speed at number three we've got some junker Town flanks cadeau

XD shows us a really easy way to just jump the enemies set up toasty astronaut

shows us another similar way to get behind the enemy lines just a bit

further back on first point coming in at number two some Nepal flings MW didi

shows us a really quick way to get to the point without getting noticed at all

three opz flies across temple to get a seven second route to point this is by

far one of the fastest that we've seen

and last but not least at number one Hollywood surprise routes the real boy

shows us how to get up to the widow water tower spot as well as

demonstrating a really powerful perch above the Hollywood flank and the last

roll out in this video elf Alice gives us a really really good

perch to surprise the unsuspecting enemy with this one's really good if you want

to set up an earth-shattering that controllability you have

anyway I hope you guys found these really useful I've been practicing them

a lot and they proven very useful so far learning it takes some time but you can

really get it down with just some practice if you have any questions about

the video or the game in general feel free to tweet me on Twitter and comment

Know Why You Should Make Your Own Dishwashing Detergent - Duration: 3:01.

For many people, the time to do the dishes is one of the worst of the day.

Although it is a monotonous task, the products that we use to wash the dishes deserve our

attention.

Many of the detergents sold in supermarkets for this purpose have several substances

which can do harm to our health.

These products contain dyes, fragrances, formaldehyde, methanol and other chemicals

can mess up your hormones, cause problems to organs such as the liver and even cause cancer.

Even if these toxic substances are in few quantities, every time we wash

the dishes with one of these detergents, always some residue.

The residue can accumulate in the dishes at each wash even if you rinse well.

Knowing this, how about looking for an alternative safer not only for your health but also

And the best, besides being a great alternative for traditional products to wash the

dishwasher, this natural detergent is very to do.

One of the ingredients present in formula is the borax.

15 to 20 drops of essential oil (can be any; sells in product stores

natural).

How to make

Boil the water and add the soap to the bar graft and borax.

Mix until the soap is melted.

Add essential oil.

Let the mixture cool for 6 to 8 hours.

What The Biggest Fans Don't Even Know About Swamp Thing - Duration: 6:29.

Swamp Thing!

He is amazing!

And since his debut in 1974, he's been one of the most fascinating characters in the

entire DC Comics lineup.

From his origins as a straightforward man-turned-monster, to his strange luck on the screen, here's

what you might not know about DC's resident muck monster.

Convergent evolution

While he would definitely go on to become the most famous, Swamp Thing is by no means

the first swamp monster in comics.

In fact, he's not even the first one created in the early '70s at one of the major superhero

publishers.

That honor in particular goes to Marvel's Man-Thing, created by Roy Thomas, Gerry Conway,

and Gray Morrow in the pages of Savage Tales #1.

In that story, Dr. Ted Sallis is working in the swamp on a formula meant to give people

super-powers when he's attacked by criminals and gets exposed to it himself, plunging into

the swamp and emerging as...

Man-Thing!

It was only months later that Len Wein and Berni Wrightson introduced their new swamp

monster in the pages of House of Secrets #92.

In that story, Dr. Alex Olsen, later changed to Alec Holland, is working in the swamp on

a formula meant to give people super-powers when he's attacked by criminals and gets exposed

to it himself, plunging into the swamp and emerging as ... Swamp Thing!

did I just get deja vu...

Needless to say, Conway noticed the similarities between Man Thing and Swamp Thing, which were

especially apparent since he and Wein actually roommates in New York at the time.

The Green

In 1986, Swamp Thing became something more than just a monster.

Instead, he was the latest in a long line of plant elementals who were connected to

what was called the Green a mystical field encompassing all of Earth's plant life.

From there, Swamp Thing was connected to other plant monsters: DC characters like the Floronic

Man, Black Orchid, Solomon Grundy, and even Poison Ivy were added to that connection,

but it went beyond just their pages.

Another elemental that we get an explicit backstory for shares a suspiciously similar

origin with a golden age swamp monster called the Heap, and a reference to the repeated

pattern of origin stories is pretty easy to read as an acknowledgement of Man-Thing, too.

The Red, the Clear, and the Rot

Connecting Swamp Thing to the Green gave DC an idea that's been extended to a whole

lot of other characters, complete with their own rainbow of colors.

Animal Man had a head start.

The idea behind this forgotten hero had always been that he could access the abilities of

animals by tapping into a "morphogenetic field," which later became known as The Red.

It didn't stop there, either.

Aquaman's ability to talk to fish was explained as the ability to tap into the watery force

called the Clear, and the same story that tied Animal Man to the Red also introduced

the death force, known as the Rot, which was pretty much bad news for everyone.

Love in the time of dendrophilia

In the beginning, "Alec Holland" was mourning both his own status as an undead muck monster

and the death of his wife, Linda, who perished during his fiery origin.

Meanwhile, the human perspective on his adventures fell to Abigail Arcane niece of the depraved

supervillain Anton Arcane and her boyfriend Matt Cable.

Unfortunately for her, Matt was killed, and in one of the most horrifying moments of the

series, it was revealed that Anton had been possessing Matt's body without Abby knowing.

Once that was taken care of and Anton was sent straight to hell, the way was clear for

Swamp Thing and Abby to fall in love with each other.

This sparked one of DC's most enduring romances which is kind of surprising considering that

one of the lovers in question was a shambling monster made of trees.

He beat Batman

You might find this hard to believe, but it turns out that in some states, it's actually

illegal to… um… how should we say this… wait.

I got this - "bump uglies" with a swamp monster... get it?

Ugly.

Monster.

Anyway…

When the locals discovered that Abby Arcane was engaging in dendrophilia, she was arrested,

and Swamp Thing wasn't happy.

He launched an all out attack on the city that was holding her… a little place called

Gotham.

Needless to say, Batman didn't appreciate having his hometown turned into a jungle.

While he did his level best to fight the Swamp Thing off, he found out that an Avatar of

the Green isn't as easy to take down as, say, the Riddler.

Instead, Swampy just kept coming back bigger and tougher, until Batman finally saw his

point.

The Dark Knight figured that if you're going to arrest non-human heroes for having romantic

relationships with human women, you're eventually going to have to try slapping handcuffs on

Lois Lane and Superman.

Reefer madness

Sometimes, it can pay to have a friend with absolute mastery over plants.

In Hellblazer #63, he got an invite to John Constantine's 40th birthday party, which came

as a surprise since the characters had never exactly been pals.

Even so, Swamp Thing gave Constantine a birthday present by rapidly growing a single marijuana

leaf into enough for everyone.

"Communing with the Green" indeed.

Swamp to the Future

When Rick Veitch took over Swamp Thing in 1987, he launched one of the most memorable

stories on the book ever: a time-travel epic that saw Swamp Thing hurled back through the

ages, encountering heroes and villains from throughout DC Comics history.

And then he abruptly left the book in mid-story.

The reason for was no secret, and was even the topic of discussion in the book's letters

pages for several months: DC asked Veitch at the last minute to change the end of his storyline,

and he refused.

The reason?

Rick Veitch's original plan had been for Swamp Thing's next stop to land him in the Roman

Empire circa 33 AD, where he'd meet an obscure character called Golden Gladiator.

Oh, and he was also going to team up with Jesus.

Only a few years later, it's unlikely that this story would've been a problem.

By 1995, DC's Vertigo imprint was publishing Preacher, a book that made "Swamp Thing meets

Jesus" look like a Sunday School lesson.

At the time, though, Swamp Thing was still firmly set in the DC Universe.

To this day, his version of Swamp Thing #88 remains unpublished.

Swamp Thing conquers the screen... sort of

With critically acclaimed stories and a dedicated fan base, it makes sense that Warner Bros.

would bring Swamp Thing to the big screen.

The first attempt came in 1982 from Wes Craven, the legendary horror director who went on

to direct A Nightmare on Elm Street and Scream.

It stuck to Wein and Wrightson's origin story, pitting Alec Holland against Anton Arcane,

with Adrienne Barbeau as a love interest.

It wasn't exactly a success, but it garnered generally positive reviews.

1988's Return of Swamp Thing wasn't so lucky.

With a low budget and a bad script, it flopped hard at the box office.

It did, however, pave the way for not one, but two television shows.

In 1990, Dick Durock returned as Swamp Thing for a series that ran for three seasons on

USA.

In 1991, things got even weirder when Fox Kids got in on the action and launched a Swamp

Thing animated series.

That one only lasted five episodes before it got axed, but it did give the world the

gift of an incredibly weird theme song.

"Swamp Thing, you are amazing."

The 2019 BMW X4 Isn't for Everybody — And That's the Point - Duration: 6:43.

[MUSIC PLAYING]

CARLOS LAGO: That right there is the new 2019 BMW X4.

It's a slightly more premium, slightly more sporty variant

of the X3 that has a slope down roof.

Kind of like the BMW X6.

We're gonna drive it for the first time today.

[MUSIC PLAYING]

From the driver's seat, unsurprisingly, the X4

drives similarly to the X3.

And I'm actually happy to get to talk about that

because I went to Portugal to drive

the X3 and film a video on it, and I got the flu immediately

after landing.

So no video.

But I've since reviewed that vehicle

and driving this car for the first time,

and the similarities are very easy to spot.

The dash looks identical.

Forward visibility is excellent.

You get the same powerful 6 cylinder engine and this model,

which is the M40i.

Of the two, this is the M40i, which is the top version.

Beneath that, is an xDrive30i.

The xDrive30i comes with a two liter turbocharged 4 cylinder,

about 250 horsepower, or so.

And this M40i has a turbocharged straight 6

with 355 horsepower and about 365 pound feet of torque.

So acceleration in this is not a problem.

BMW's never had a problem making powerful engines

that feel good.

This one revs all the way to 6500 RPM

and sounds good in the process.

So it's a very satisfactory driving experience.

The nicely weighted and easy to grab onto steering wheel

feels good in your hands.

There's good detents in the rim that

make you want to grab the wheel at the right position.

The throttle response is pretty solid

for a turbocharged engine, especially one with an 8 speed

transmission.

If I dial it into one of the various sport modes,

it even gets a little louder and it

will crackle the be exhaust when I make downshifts.

Take a listen to this.

[ENGINE REVVING]

That's a good sound.

And speaking of crazy performance things

that you don't expect in this kind of vehicle,

we've got launch control.

And that will get this M40i model to 60 miles an hour,

according to BMW, in just over 4 and a half seconds.

There's no arguments about how fast this car could

be in a straight line.

And when it comes to handling, it

does that job pretty well too.

There's no getting around that it's an SUV,

that it rides taller, that it weighs a fair amount as well.

But still, the satisfying parts of driving quickly,

how the car responds when you go into a corner, how it

feels when you accelerate out--

all those elements are tied together very nicely.

And that's important because that's kind

of what you'd expect from BMW.

The X4 aspires to be a sportier version of the X3.

To that end, they've extended the rear track width

on this over an inch--

1.2 inches.

And that seems like a small amount,

but it actually is kind of a major deal.

They've done this because, you know, it looked good,

which doesn't hurt.

And too, it also makes the car a little bit more nimble.

And that's something you may not notice

when you're driving in the commute stop and go traffic.

But it may influence other elements,

like if you decide to go up a winding road,

or take a freeway off ramp or on ramp at a good clip.

All these X4 models come with the sport suspension that

makes it ride a little bit more firmly than the standard car,

and adaptive damping is optional.

The version that we're driving, like I mentioned, is an X40i.

But it's outfitted and kitted out

with all the doodads and accessories,

if you couldn't tell by this beautiful red leather.

Now, all the X4's come standard with a large entertainment

display, but the head-up display is optional,

but this one has it.

It looks attractive.

What I like about this new generation of X3 and X4

is this large digital gauge cluster.

It's interesting because it's definitely a digital screen,

but they've worked in that surrounds of the gauges.

Those are actual fixed elements.

You can reach out and touch them,

even though the screen behind them can change to whatever.

We've also got some sportier seats in this.

They have a little bit more aggressive side bolstering.

And that's to make you, you know, help you sit in place.

Now, let's talk about the rear hatch.

The rear window is a lot smaller than it is on the X3.

And the rear headrests impinge upon the visibility as well.

We have tall side view mirrors, which help.

And we have a suite of safety equipment,

including rear view camera, top view camera, all of that

stuff as well.

Well, visibility could be a concern

to some people who are more sensitive to that than not.

This X4, which is outfitted with all the sporty elements,

does the sporty driving stuff right, which

is exactly what you'd hope.

But let's talk about what happens to the back seat.

[MUSIC PLAYING]

Now, the story with the last generation BMW X4

was that it compromised so much interior space

because of the way this roofline went down,

that it really didn't seem to be that much worthwhile stepping

to it over in X3 because the compromises were so great.

Now because this generation X3 and consequently,

this generation X4 are so much bigger than those vehicles,

there are still compromises, but the space

remains pretty usable.

I gotta say.

As I slither over to this seat here,

I find that if I sit behind the driver's seat

where I was sitting last-- if I sit behind myself,

I have plenty of leg room, plenty of shoulder room.

Although, my hair is just about brushing the roof.

If you have any taller passengers,

taller than 5'10" or passengers with big torsos,

their heads might be in the roof.

And this center seat here has a pretty firm backrest.

So you can get four adults in this car total,

but you probably want to keep the center

space for the little ones.

Cargo space is a lot less than the X3,

but the cargo area is pretty usable.

You can flip down this backseat and use this entire loading

area to put your stuff.

[MUSIC PLAYING]

The X4 is a very nice driving and interesting looking

vehicle.

The question is, who's buying it?

It's more expensive than an X3 and offers less utility.

And utility is the second word that makes up the acronym, SUV.

So from a logic perspective, it's kind of a head scratcher.

That's what it's always been.

I think the real draw is that this is something

that will be sold in small numbers, that looks different,

that has a sportier edge to it, and that alone is

enough for shoppers who are looking for something

a little bit more unique and something that stands out

a bit more than your normal luxury compact SUV.

We'll be sure to do a deeper test on this

once we get it back at our office.

But for now, the impression is this thing drives well.

And the people who are remotely interested in the way this

looks should check it out.

If you like what you saw, keep it tuned right here

and be sure to visit edmunds.com.

Tessa Thompson Opens Up About Her Sexuality for the First Time - Duration: 1:36.

Hey guys for Complex News, I'm Natasha Martinez.

///// Tessa Thompson opened up about her sexuality for the first time during a discussion with

Net-a-Porter.

The star of Westworld and the upcoming movie 'Sorry to Bother You' has had rumors circulating

about her and Janelle Monae for a while, but those rumors heightened when she starred as

Janelle's love interest in the emotion picture for 'Dirty Computer.'

Tessa told the publication,

I'm attracted to men and also to women.

If I bring a woman home, [or] a man, we don't even have to have the discussion.

That was something I was conscientious of in terms of this declaration around Janelle

and myself.

I want everyone else to have that freedom and support that I have from my loved ones

Thompson recognizes that her family being supportive of her sexual orientation is a

privilege.

It's for that reason that she says she struggles with wanting to have privacy of their relationship

but also wanting to use their situation as platforms.

Janelle also had the same message during an interview that coincided with her cover for

Rolling Stone.

She said she dedicated to her newest album Dirty Computer to,

young girls, young boys, nonbinary, gay, straight, queer people who are having a hard time dealing

with their sexuality, dealing with feeling ostracized or bullied for just being their

unique selves.

Monae had repeatedly avoided mentioning Thompson directly in interviews, but Thompson did explicitly

name Monáe in the Net-a-Porter talk, even if she didn't outright define their relationship.

We love each other deeply, we're so close.

We vibrate on the same frequency.

If people want to speculate about what we are, that's okay.

It doesn't bother me.

The full interview is up on Net-a-Porter.

That's all for now, for more on this and the rest of today's stories subscribe to Complex

Obama Warns Democrats Expecting a 'Blue Wave' in November - Duration: 4:26.

Obama Warns Democrats Expecting a 'Blue Wave' in November.

During a fundraiser in Beverly Hills, former President Barack Obama warned Democrats not

to think Congress will turn blue just because they wish it so.

Obama spoke at a $2,700-per-person fundraising event on Thursday, the Los Angeles Times reported.

Although most of the event was closed to the media, reporters were allowed to hear a political

discussion between Obama and Democratic National Committee Chairman Tom Perez.

"I would caution us from extrapolating too much from a bunch of special elections and

starting to think that, 'OK, this will take care of itself.'

Because it won't," Obama said, characterizing the Republican approach to winning votes as

one based upon fear.

It would be a mistake, he added, to "go back to business as usual" or assume momentum

from those races will carry Democrats through November.

Traditionally, the midterm elections that come two years after a president is elected

result in a loss of seats for the president's governing party.

That has led Democrats and pollsters to predict a number of "blue wave" scenarios including

Democratic majorities in the House or Senate, both of which are under GOP control.

However, as the elections begin to appear on the radar screen of average Americans,

and not just political insiders, that view is evolving.

"Well, I think if you looked six months ago, you would say it was doomsday for the

Republicans with the Republican down in the 30s, showing a double-digit lead for Democrats,"

said Real Clear Politics senior elections analyst Sean Trende this week on "Fox and

Friends."

"But that's just not the world we're in today.

The president is up into the low to mid 40s, and his job approval, the generic ballot has

closed to a four-point lead for the Democrats, so I think we've gone from Democrats being

heavy favorites to take the House to something of a dead heat and maybe a thumb on the scale

for the Republicans," he said, according to Real Clear Politics.

Trende said GOP success, even in traditionally blue states such as California, is "a real

concern for the Democrats."

"They have this top two primary system where everyone runs in the same race, and the top

two make it to the election.

There's a lot of Democrats running, they could divide the democratic vote, and you

could end up with two Republicans in the general election shutting the Democrats out, which

is sort of a nightmare scenario for Democrats," he said.

However, two years after polls were resoundingly off in their predictions, one voice said it

is too early to make accurate guesses.

"Let's pour a little water on the hot takes.

The generic House ballot seems to have improved for the Republicans … although this average

is driven largely by a few polls that have been bouncing around a lot," said Patrick

Murray, director of the Monmouth University Polling Institute, according to Vox.

A generic ballot is one in which voters are asked to compare an unnamed Democrat running

for office with an unnamed Republican.

"In reality, the generic ballot has been pretty stable since March but is significantly

worse for Democrats than where it was at the start of the year," he said.

"The Democrats are not in the same enviable position they were five months ago, but that

doesn't mean we have any idea what the next five months will bring."

President Donald Trump has publicly scoffed at the "blue wave" theory.

"We must elect more Republicans, we have to do that.

And the problem is in the Senate, we have 51.

We don't have enough," Trump said in North Dakota on Wednesday, citing Tuesday's primary

elections, according to The Daily Caller.

"Their blue wave is really sputtering pretty badly.

The red wave is happening — just look what happened last night."

In his pep talk to Democrats, Obama noted one fundamental political truth.

"I'm giving you the executive summary: Vote.

Participate.

Get involved," he said.

"And do not wait for the perfect message, and don't want to feel a tingle in your

spine because you're expecting politicians to be so inspiring and poetic and moving.

Politics, like life, is imperfect.

But there is better and there is worse."

Restaurant manager fired after refusing to serve customer wearing MAGA hat - Duration: 2:17.

Restaurant manager fired after refusing to serve customer wearing MAGA hat.

The manager of a popular restaurant in Vancouver, Canada, was fired after he told a customer

to remove his "Make America Great Again" cap or he would refuse to serve him.

Darin Hodge, the former manager of the Teahouse in Stanley Park, told Global News he stood

by his decision to ask the man to take off the cap saying the hat represented "racism,

bigotry, Islamophobia, misogyny, white supremacy, (and) homophobia."

"As a person with a strong moral backbone, I had to take a stand against this guest's

choice of headwear while in my former place of work.

Absolutely no regrets," he said in a written statement to Global News.

The hats were made popular during Donald Trump's 2016 presidential campaign.

Eva Gates, of the Sequoia Group which owns the Stanley Park Tea House, confirmed to Global

News that the incident happened on Tuesday.

"A gentleman came in wearing a hat that was a 'Make America Great Again' hat,

and our manager went up to the gentleman and asked him to take off his hat, that he wouldn't

serve him with that hat on," she said.

"And the gentleman said that he had a right to wear that hat.

And [the manager] refused to serve him if he wouldn't take off his hat, and so the

customer had to leave," she continued.

The company called Hodge a "good person with a big heart and a right to his personal

beliefs," but he was terminated for "violating the company's philosophy of tolerance."

The staff told CBC News that Hodge was employed with the restaurant for about 18 months.

Last week, White House press secretary Sarah Sanders and her family were booted from the

Red Hen in Lexington, Va., after the owner of the establishment told her to leave because

she worked for President Trump.

"Her actions say far more about her than about me," she tweeted.

"I always do my best to treat people, including those I disagree with, respectfully and will

continue to do so."

Dating, Marriage, and Women (in Ancient Japan) | History of Japan 13 - Duration: 6:48.

If you think dating today is hard, imagine how it must have been back in the Kofun Period

of Japan.

We have all kinds of options today...dating apps, huge cities full of people, body pillows...but

they didn't have any of that back then.

So what did they do?

What was marriage like?

How did they view sex?

What role did prostitution play in society?

There is a lot of evidence that Kofun Japan had a pretty matriarchal society, much more

matriarchal than in later periods.

At the very least, women's status in society were similar to that of men.

They had a lot of female clan leaders, even as late as the 6th century.

The main kami of Japan, Amaterasu, was female.

Shamans, who were religious leaders that revealed the will of the kami, were female.

Remember that Queen Himiko in the Yayoi Period was a shaman priestess.

There were a number of female empresses up until the end of the 8th century.

Early Japan had this pattern of dual male-female rule.

If they were not married, the female was usually the older one.

The female ruler usually handled the religious business, and the male ruler handled the secular

side of things.

We see this pattern all over the place.

For example, in Shinto mythology, Izanagi and Izanami created the islands of Japan.

They were a husband and wife pair, also brother and sister.

Amaterasu is the kami of the Sun, and her counterpart, Tsukiyomi, is the kami of the

Moon.

Queen Himiko had her brother, and later Empresses had a male relative (like a husband, brother,

or nephew) who shouldered the burden of the throne with them.

Some historians suggest that the Japanese imported this practice from the continent.

The Silla Dynasty in the Korean Peninsula also seemed to have this double male-female

rule.

We found a Korean tomb where a king and queen were buried, but it was the queen who wore

the crown and flaunted all kinds of shiny jewelry.

The Liao in China traced royal blood through both male and female lines.

Some of this matriarchal mindset lived on to the modern era, where if there were no

suitable male heir, the throne could be passed on to a female.

This practice only recently stopped during the Meiji Period, when women were forbidden

from sitting on the throne.

Here's another sign of the matriarchy

(Oh no...the matriarchy...)

After marriage, the wife continued to live in her parents' home.

Hubby either visited once in a while, or lived a nightmare of a life by moving in with the

wife's family.

I know.

At this early stage, inheritance went through the female line.

A man who sought a career in the Imperial court moved to the capital, supported financially

by his wife's family in return for representing their interests in court.

His wife stayed home.

She and her family took care of their children.

In later periods, as Japanese society became more patriarchal, men would demand to have

their own homes in the capital where they would live with their wives, separate from

the wife's family.

You could see this as them gaining independence, except they demanded the wife's family pay

for their new homes).

C'mon guys.

Marriage between pretty close family members was a thing in these days, like marriages

between aunt and nephew, stepsiblings, stepmother and stepson.

The reason may have been to maintain close relations within the family.

Polygamy was common.

Early on, they had both kinds, men with many wives, and women with many husbands.

Eventually, only men were allowed to have multiple spouses.

Some rich women could indulge in extramarital hanky panky, but it became rude to take on

additional husbands.

And now for what 90% of you are waiting for...

sex and hookers.

Prostitution was legal, and was common in major trading hubs.

Most sex workers did it to pay off debt, or their parents sold them to pay off their own

debts.

But there was a smaller number of high class prostitutes who chose the profession.

It does not seem like there was a stigma against prostitutes.

They could own and inherit property, and often lived a normal life or adopted a normal profession

after their sexual career.

These early Japanese prostitutes actually had more job opportunities after their careers

ended than another type of prostitute,

the US politician,

who, after their political

careers end, can only seem to find jobs in the lobbying field.

I couldn't help but wonder how these Japanese courtesans avoided STDs (or didn't avoid).

Bamboo condoms probably not too popular.

Couldn't find any info about it though.

Shame.

There did not seem to be a prohibition against sexual promiscuity like there was in Judeo-Christian

societies.

Youthful sexual experimentation and premarital sex was common, and expected.

They had a fun practice that I think you'll like, called "yobai," or "night crawling."

At night, a young unmarried man would sneak into a young unmarried woman's bedroom,

without alerting the rest of the household, and proposition her.

She would think long and hard about it.

If she declines, the creeper slinks off with his tail, or something else, between his legs.

If she accepts, they bump, and he leaves before morning.

Even if the other family members know, they usually turn a blind eye towards it.

This practice was considered a normal part of the dating process.

There wasn't really a formal marriage ceremony.

After a woman sleeps with the same guy a few times, he can stay over for breakfast, making

it official, and there you go, a happily married couple.

The practice varied between regions.

In some places, older people could do it, or even married women could participate.

It seems fun and all, but as you can imagine, problematic things may have happened.

How easily could women refuse?

And how often did men continue even after being rejected?

Farmers would house many seasonal workers for their fields, knowing that their daughters

may be night-crawled upon.

There were no prohibitions against masturbation or homosexuality.

Sex between men was common and did not make them seem less masculine.

In fact, it became the preferred sexual relationship between warriors well into medieval Japan.

It's pretty safe to say that sex between women was also accepted, since we don't

see any social prohibitions against it.

They also didn't particularly value virginity or saving themselves for marriage.

This period of equality of the sexes changed as Japan began adopting more Chinese culture,

particularly Confucianism.

Confucius was like the old neighbor who kept telling you to pull up your pants, put on

some damn clothes, and stop peeing on my dog.

Whenever people wanted to have a good time, Confucius had to go and ruin it for everyone.

Confucianism was more puritanical when it came to sex, and very patriarchal.

The patriarchal ideals did come to dominate Japan, but the sexual conservatism did not

seem to penetrate as much.

The only real concern about sexuality that they imposed was making sure there was a male

heir to continue the family line.

If the man produced an heir, his sexual activities were beside the point.

🔷 HILARIOUS New Feud Alert!🍒Farrah Abraham Vs. Drita D'Avanzo - Duration: 5:10.

That Farrah Abraham, always getting into trouble with that big, silly mouth of hers!

Except this time, Farrah made have run that mouth about the wrong person.

Seriously, she really messed up this time.

OK, so are you familiar with Drita D'Avanzo?

She was on Mob Wives, she was friends with the legendary Big Ang, and she's known for

having a bit of a temper.

Like, she was arrested a couple of years ago for beating her neighbor over a parking spot

. Drita does not play around.

Anyway, Drita and Farrah appeared together at the opening of an Atlantic City club on

Thursday night, and afterwards, Farrah took to her Instagram to rant about the experience.

In a live video, she explained "I normally don't do joint appearances because to be honest,

I am done with other quote unquote reality people."

"I feel like they're either hung up on drugs, drinking, f-cked up, unprofessional, just

f-cking nasty pieces of sh-t on earth."

It's funny, because Farrah is most definitely in the category of "reality people," and there

are many of her peers that would likely call her "f-cked up, unprofessional, just f-cking

nasty pieces of sh-t on earth ."

But that's a conversation for another day.

Without saying Drita's name, Farrah siad "You have someone show up and like talk to the

owner about how you couldn't send her her freaking money at my dinner table because

she didn't want to eat together, but then she can't even do the photos for the club,

she can't meet anymore, she can't talk to anyone, then she just disappears!"

"Here's my vibe," she continued.

"If you can't be professional to show up to work, don't cry to other people when you have

no money, no work, no nothing ... because you are nothing."

"I'm sorry, if you are replaceable in the workforce, no one wants to hire you -- that's

not everyone's fault, that is your fault."

She told her followers that "I had to release this, because I am done.

I don't even know why they even shared my night with someone who is a has-been."

"I'm like, give me a break, it's either you're nice, you're amazing, you have a good work

ethic, or stay the f-ck out of my way!"

Again, it's funny, because she's never nice or amazing , right?

Is she honestly this delusional?

Well, yes.

But that's what happened when Farrah met Drita.

And when Page Six reached out to Drita for a comment on what Farrah had said, the Mob

Wives star said "I'm going to slap the sh-t out of that Mr. Ed-looking f-cker."

You're already living for this feud, right?

Drita also said that she wasn't too clear on who Farrah is, and that she thinks she's

"an unemployed porn star."

She "doesn't care if she's a hooker," but still, "she f-cked with the wrong person."

She repeated those comments in a video she shared on Instagram last night:

It seems like in the time between the interview and the Instagram video, she figured out that

Farrah's famous for being on Teen Mom OG, but she still thinks that later " she became

a hooker or some sh-t ."

But that doesn't bother her -- she explained that what does bother her is that Farrah was

nice to her face, and then later "ripped me to shreds."

"I don't know who you dealt with in the past," Drita said, "but you got the wrong motherf-cker."

"I no longer assault anybody, because the last time someone tried to test me they ended

up putting me in jail.

You're not worth it."

"However," she added, "I might have to make an exception."

It's at this point that you really start to appreciate how badly Farrah messed up, right?

For what it's worth though, Drita did say that "I'm not gonna closed fist punch your

face in, I'm gonna open hand smack the f-ck out of you, straight up, on sight.

Just so you know."

Small miracles, huh?

If you've already gotten so invested in this amazing new reality star feud, don't worry

-- we have one more bit of news!

Farrah saw Drita's comments about her comments, and she addressed her on Twitter directly,

writing one of her most aggressive word salads yet!

"F-cking low class trash dusted up nobody show up and work you have no work ethic and

act like a criminal say what you want about me so you feel better about how pathetic you

are!" she tweeted.

"Use me for press haha your a loser go get a real job my lawyer will be contacting you

Psycho."

Beautiful.

She also tweeted "Dinner & Atlantic City was fabulous I hope the clown fixes her drug

problem & her abusive relationship."
