I am Jeff from the Overwatch team.

Today we're gonna try to cover some popular topics in the community.

Stuff that you guys talk about

and express that you wanna hear more from us,

the development team, about. So...

I'd like to touch on some of those things.

So as you guys know,

there have been a lot of changes to Mercy.

But, I- I feel like,

you know, at this point

the less said about Mercy

the better.

Uhm, we really felt like

the game was becoming, you know,

less "Overwatch", and more

"Mercywatch", so...

with Mercy taken care of,

the eye of Kaplan

now turns to Hanzo.

Uhm, we are looking into Hanzo,

uh, specifically at abilities like Scatter Arrow

uh, for potential changes

uh, Hanzo mains have been asking us, you know

please don't wreck my beloved

snipey arrow dude, so...

uhm...

kind of wanted to reassure you guys that

making sure things feel balanced,

keeping Hanzo a powerful, viable hero

in the Overwatch roster,

and listening to community feedback, uhm..

these are things that we're not going to do

so you should sort of, prepare yourself for that.

Uhm, and we've also given Hanzo a horizontal leap

that allows him to, uhh

leap in whatever direction he's facing.

Now I know that there's some of you are thinking

"But Jeff!"

"Horizontal leap

is McCree's ability!"

"What are you doing giving it to Hanzo?"

Well, if you're lucky,

uhh, maybe Hanzo will use it to

leap off of your team

and go be a

useless piece of shit somewhere else.

Uhm, anyway...

another thing that I wanted to talk about

was our progress on toxicity.

As you all know, it is a major initiative

of the Overwatch team and everyone here at Blizzard

to minimize the amount of toxicity that takes place

in online games.

Not just our games, but games in general.

It's getting a lot better,

and a lot of the initiatives that we're doing here at Blizzard

are starting to make a difference. (bring back "avoid this player" feature reeeeeeeee)

I'll give you an example of one thing that we've been doing

that has uhh prove- proven very positive.

So when you're going into a competitive match,

if you pick a hero

that is on our blacklist

of the top twenty five

toxic heroes, we can actually

activate your webcam

and start watching, very closely...

which is a ton of fun,

super useful,

I'm using it all the time.

And then we'll triangulate your location

and have you permanently banned

at the earliest sign of toxicity.

Often times before anybody's even

reported you.

Now, you might be wondering...

and the answer is 'yes',

in the past,

I have accidentally started watching some of you

while you are

beating

your meat

to Widowmaker's, uhh

dance emote.

And for that I- I apologise

that that mistake happened.

Uh, but I'd like to suggest

that maybe you should really

keep that sort of thing

in Quick Play

or at least

at the bo- bottom of Bronze...

So...

What I think is important to understand is ideally

we wanna watch,

and see, you know,

"Wow, everybody's being

very nice to each other

in team chat,

and discussing how

Jeff from the Overwatch team

is absolutely gorgeous!"

But unfortunately,

that's not necessarily something we see

very frequently.

But, you know

I hope to see this sort of thing happening

much more often in the future

because, you know,

I could really do with the

confidence boost to be honest.

Now beyond that,

there's a LOT of stuff in the works

and I'm gonna be vague about some of this

because I can't reveal everything that we're working on

but obviously one of the things that you guys love

are new heroes.

And we hope you're having fun with

Baguetta Lindholm.

We think she's gonna bring a ton to the game

but we're also thinking about heroes

beyond hero 27 as well.

Uhm,

we had a really cool hero in internal testing

but then we saw how you guys

went crazy over a

wheelchair

inside Lijiang Tower, so...

We really went back to the drawing board

and we took things in a new direction.

So therefore,

the exciting announcement

is that our next new hero,

'Mr Wheels'

will be rolling

onto the battlefield very soon.

Uhm, hopefully at the end of Spring, uhm...

We think you'll find it a lot of fun.

He tends to have

a little bit of trouble

with the stairs on uhh

maps like Dorado,

but wait until you see

the sort of speed he can reach

going downhill, uhm

on Eichenwalde.

Uhm, we think you'll be really blown away.

Hello! I am Cristiane Amarante, an archaeologist,

and our subject today is:

Illustrations and Archeology.

Today, here in our channel, we are

visiting the Museum of Jaú. And the

archaeologist Fábio Grossi, who is the museum's director,

has an important partnership with illustrators

from the region to do various

actions in the museum. Some

are temporary exhibitions, others

are illustrations for long-term exposure, and other

projects, such as a comic book workshop.

And now Fabio will explain to us a little bit

about this partnership, where the idea came from,

who are the illustrators, so we know

a little more about this work.

That's exactly it, Cris. We

conceive the museum as a way of

expressing and representing the community.

And we thought about the issue

of illustrators in this idea of

being didactic. In the session of

archeology, as we commented the other day,

it's a very good resource,

and we thought of using the illustration to reach all

ages, from the child to the adult.

So, what we can see in the illustration of Daniel Batista,

who composes the Collective Luminar, from Bauru,

who are illustrators and designers of

UNESP of Bauru, who made the partnership with us,

they are highly competent illustrators and also

work with the indigenous theme, in this case.

That's interesting: they research. It's not merely an artwork;

It's an artistic work associated with

scientific research. So in this case here,

which we basically represent in this exhibition

of the Indian session here in the Museum of Jaú,

we talk about the group Kaingang,

of the G trunk, and the Guarani group,

of the Tupi trunk. Right? So, here we

represent 3 Guarani

myths and 3 Kaingang myths.

Here we have one that is the imitation of Xariã,

right. And here Daniel

represented in a very interesting way in his

style, that is HQ style,

the god Nhanderú, Guarani, and his brother

Xariã. And here it's interesting

to mention that, in cosmology,

in the Guarani religion, Nhanderú,

when it expresses itself and appears for the first time

on earth among humans, it

appears as an owl. And he expressed it here;

if you notice, he

represents, he passes the idea of an owl.

And his brother Xariã, likewise, when he

he first expressed himself on earth, he did so

in the form of a deer.

So here you can see the traits as well,

that they try to pass on that idea.

And here you can also see the graphic,

the body painting of Nhanderú, which was also searched

for these graphics,

the Guarani graphics, specifically,

it is to represent the Guarani deity. So, this shows that this illustration

has been researched. And it has

a super modern look, a modern language

that children, when they come here,

feel super attracted, and they see the

colors, the traits attract them, and

through that they come to know a Guarani myth.

In this panel, a Kaingang myth is

being represented here.

Here is another illustrator, Gustavo,

from the Luminar Collective,

and unlike Daniel,

which you have seen now, which has a more childlike

language of HQ, here is a younger

visual language, right.

This proposal, if you notice,

is very similar to the proposal you see in HQ today when you talk

about Marvel and DC heroes.

So this is an attractive language for youth.

And even for adults; just like me, I really

like HQ. - And what's the feedback

of young people when they come to the museum and look

at that, and see that it's not a Marvel

or a DC? "Wow, indigenous..."

has that impact? - We notice

a lot about this reaction

from the public, and it's interesting that we see that it fulfilled

the role. Because in this Eurocentric

story, which we have learned, there

has been what we call epistemic – to diminish

the history of these peoples, both indigenous and African.

And here we are emphasizing, with our cultural

traits, right, of a Marvel,

just as the superhero, our natives,

the Brazilians paint. So when they see,

there's this reaction of "Wow, cool!

Is this Kaingang? Very nice, huh!

Look at the guy! It's not just the one

we learned in the little book with the little pen, the underwear,

doing uuuu". So the reaction is very

interesting, and they're

attracted. We realize that they actually look more

interested. - And this myth here,

Fábio, which is represented, tells tell us a little

about it. - Yeah. This myth here, it represents much

what is the Kaingang. Because the Kaingang

ethnic group, the Kaingang natives,

they are divided into two clans, which are the Kamé

and the Kairu. Why? Because in their view,

they see the world as if it were all divided into

two halves – half sun and half moon. And the Kamé

Kamé represents half sun

and the Kairu represents half moon;

and they express this in the body paint

they use. If you notice the traces here,

the Kamé will always have stripes,

and the Kairu, circles. And a clan

can only marry someone from another clan, for example. And

through these clans, Kamé and Kairu

were the first Kaingang that arose,

in the Kaingang religion.

And this myth expresses this: that they were the first to emerge,

the Kamé and Kairu, and from them,

they began to create the animals,

and we see it in this illustration. And

they see the world in this way: everything they have in nature,

animals that are represented by

stripes, or diurnal animals, for example,

belong to the clan Universe Kamé,

which is the Sun, and those that have circles,

or those that are nocturnal, represent

the clan Kairu, which is the Moon. - In this

video, you learned a little about

indigenous peoples who live in Brazil today.

But this knowledge brings us light, information

about people who

lived in Brazil a long time ago.

We can't make a direct connection like,

"Ah, people live like this today,

and in ancient times people lived the same way."

That's not the way it's done. But

we have some information,

some clues. Another thing that is important to point out

to you is that archeology is not always working

with a very distant past. At

times, we work with archaeological sites

that have a direct relationship with peoples who still

exist in the present. And this information is very

important, and this connection with the

Guarani people, the Kaingang and other

indigenous peoples who still live in Brazil, are many

nations, many languages, even though

they are two strong linguistic trunks,

but there are more than 300 languages spoken

in Brazil even today. In the past,

when the Portuguese arrived, there were more than 1,000

languages, many of them extinct.

Today there are people who have only 1 or 2 speakers

of some languages,

and these studies are all very

important to us in archeology. I hope
