DOLLAR TREE HAUL! HOME AND KITCHEN ESSENTIALS AND MORE! - Duration: 12:51.

hey little fellow welcome back today is the Dollar Tree haul we went shopping at

Dollar Tree in this video itself let's jump right in you ready you want to

start with a box of tissues we just picked up this Minnie Mouse box of

tissue so if you guys aren't up to date we went from west coast to East Coast we

are in DC right now we will be here until April 2nd so hey Frew seconds

let's show them the next thing picked up these spiral plastic little elastics and

I have them do I have any right here right now I don't but I love these

because they don't mess up my curls and if you have your hair straight you can

put this on it and it doesn't leave like a dent in your hair so this is a really

good fun you get four of these at Dollar Tree they said oh they also sell these

at H&M and forever 21 and stuff like that for I think three or four dollars

so this next thing I was supposed to include in my Dollar Tree shopkins video

but we were too excited that we put them up and I forgot to include them in that

video we have some shopkins wall decals these can go on your windows as well

depending on the temperature in that room or location but oh my goodness I

haven't seen these anywhere in California okay no we saw them in one

store how was it - but we haven't seen them recently so I picked up seven of

these and in Zara's bathroom she has all of the little shopkin stickers on her

wall and stickers for any videos that I reference in this video check out

the description box as well as the comments tons of playlists there have

fun you'll never run out of content to watch I picked up a few household

products for us to have while we are staying here okay

they special but I would like to share that the target dollar spot section has

some really cute ones for three dollars and they fit my small hands these are

medium and they're gonna be too big and the next two things oh my goodness we

have a cub Club which is the kids edition and big kids edition of The

Frugal fam and of course there's a playlist for the toys in the description

box in and comment section but look at this oh my goodness and it has like

another where's the other one there it is it's like a little miniature figure

right here in the corners typically I see just the doll itself but I mean you

never see the doll and like a little mini vinyl figure right over here in the

corner so I was so excited to find this this is definitely a really good Dollar

Tree toy deal so I grabbed that one and this one right here this is whisper and

they also had another one like a red one I can't remember the name but how

suggest the retail price for those are six to eight dollars I've seen them in

Walmart and Toys R Us because we are traveling and I don't have my normal

filming set up I decided to pick up a few goodies that might help me with my

little Dollar Tree DIY background set up we have some jumbo plastic clothes pins

I think these will be nice to hold a backdrop in place for my toy videos or

for close-ups and for pictures I was thinking about doing a really quick like

DIY Dollar Tree filming set a video just in case some of you guys do videos or if

you're curious how you could potentially do a quick and inexpensive setup let me

know in the comments it would just be like an ad I want to come with me to

Dollar Tree video or a Dollar Tree haul so I haven't set it up yet so I can and

I will film up for you guys if you want to see it so for zari we picked zari we

picked up some shapes and color flashcards

and we took a visit to the book section and I was completely blown away

thank you find this Russell Simmons book I know he's going through a challenging

period in his life right now so I'm not sure if that's why this book is a Dollar

Tree for $1 thank these suggested retail price for this is $16 I remember seeing

it at Barnes & Noble like three years ago

you think yeah a little bit so I picked up this cute a little beaded bracelet

pouch and you can see what's on the inside in the back so you get like some

alphabets and some plain beads and string the Sun is like in and out I

don't know if you can tell but I think these are really cute Easter basket eggs

or things to just have in your house to rainy days or for the summertime not

bizarre though because those bees are pretty small looks like I picked up two

packs the intended ages six and up so just keep that in mind but we picked up

this big book of My Little Pony stickers you get 400 and I love the selection in

here these are for school teachers or something like that because it says

great job and keep up the good work and fantastic super smart so you get three

different pages and then they start to repeat and then the last one I think we

have these little small ones here something else was sorry we picked up a

time and money a little Disney a learning book client talks about money

recognition time unit so we'll probably use this just to get her familiar with

coins and maybe counting them then we picked up the shimmer and shine a

grab-bag and I am starting to see more and more shimmer and shine and stuff at

Dollar Tree so I'm thinking about doing a Dollar Tree shimmer and shine and best

dollar deal video similar to the shopkins so you get stickers in here it

looks like you get like a pop-out board markers

and yeah you can color it and then pop it out and then it can stand up on its

own like right here in the bag and then we found this 24 piece shimmer and shine

a puzzle I love seeing brand name and stuff like this with his Nickelodeon

Disney or whatever I just love finding this type of stuff at Dollar Tree and

then on the back there's the image that your puzzle will look like by the way my

nails Dollar Tree nail polish the LA colors pink bubbles and I have it and

then I was so excited to find this little bobble head LITTLEST PET SHOP

this little cutie right here again I would love to do a Dollar Tree and best

dollar deal LITTLEST PET SHOP video for you guys and then on the back we have

all the ones that you can collect just when I thought I found all of the Dollar

Tree little trinkets little fairy garden trinkets I found this cute little set up

I this is just it's okay I just want to sit down and I drink some tea with my

friends or something so the Dollar Tree that we went to it

had a good selection of fairy garden trinkets like I mentioned earlier I

picked up some a home essentials just so we can have some of our own little

goodies or while we are staying with my parents this is just a kitchen towel and

you get to in a back which is pretty good and I like this one for the kitchen

versus the microfiber towels since I grabbed this Betty Crocker little brush

a lighter because three days before we arrived they lost power the winds were

really high here oh it blew out power pretty much in this whole vicinity so I

was just being prepared in case and then I grabbed this which i

think is a toilet brush no dish brush and I think Dollar Tree is oven mitts

and pot holders are a super super great deal so we picked up a 2-pack and we

just picked up one oven mitt and I love that they have the little hanging hooks

makes life a lot easier so I picked up two of these kitchen towel packs because

I didn't oh is not it's okay so I thought you get two but you really only

get one really a large one this is really big oh and it says heavy heavier

weight does feel pretty legit so that's a pretty good deal I picked up a pizza

pan which I'd like to learn with parchment paper I never put like I don't

put my food directly on this it's not stainless steel and that's what I like

to cook on stainless steel or cast iron I picked up this cookie pan so we lined

both of these with parchment paper and then we put our pizza dough on there

we'll put whatever we're bacon on there and it turns out just as fine it's not

as crispy but I'm fine with it the last four items are organization goodies

because I think I'm going to redo my parents guest closet know is already

there yeah hi sorry what are you doing hello hello is already there don't like

I was saying I'm thinking about redoing my parents guest closet and I picked up

some of these beautiful vibrant colored baskets from Dollar Tree you guys know

they always come through ok ok so this recent Dollar Tree had

some really nice options and they were over by like the laundry and the clothes

hangers that area all the way in the back of the store my makeover or

organize their closet I would definitely do a quick video on it and insert it

inside of a Dollar Tree haul video or come with me to Dollar Tree video so

keep I don't think so that's everything that

we picked up from this Dollar Tree visit if you guys enjoyed hanging out with us

give it a thumbs up join the fan by subscribing and if you

want to see more we will see you in the next one

bye guys oh yeah you don't want to leave you don't want

them to go you want them to stay say see you later say watch my cup Club videos

mmm you don't want to tell them bye bye

mommy's gonna say bye bye for you bye bye let's call them let's called it doo

she's ready to fight."

Now we start transitioning to "she's ready to retire."

Just that ole two bladed, that ole war pig is going away, but we know she continues

in an upgraded version.

The significance was we essentially put to bed

AH-1Ws in Hawaii.

The last flight of the Whiskey, the end of an era, but the beginning of a

Option A isn't always available -Sheryl Sandberg gives amazing graduation speech - Duration: 25:50.

Sheryl Sandberg -Joy Resilience Gratitude

Thank You Marie and thank you esteemed members of the

faculty proud parents devoted friends squirming siblings congratulations to

all of you but especially congratulations to the magnificent

Berkeley class of 2016 it's my privilege to be here at Berkeley which has

produced so many Nobel Prize winners Turing Award winners astronauts members

of Congress Olympic gold medalists and that's just the women

Berkeley has always been ahead of the times as Chancellor Dirk said in the

1960s you led the Free Speech Movement back then people used to say with all

the hair how do we even tell the men from the women today we know the answer

man buns early on Berkeley opened its doors to the entire population

when this campus opened in 1873 you had 167 men and two hundred and twenty-two

women it took my alma mater another 90 years to give a do single degree to a

single woman one of the women who came here in search of opportunity was

Rosalyn us ra's grew up scrubbing floors in the berkland boarding house where she

lived in high school her parents pulled her out of school to help support the

family and it was a local teacher who talked her parents into putting her back

into school in 1973 she sat where you sit today and she became a Berkeley

graduate brahs was my grandmother

she is one of the major sources of inspiration in my life I was born on her

birthday and I am so grateful to Berkeley for recognizing her potential

and I want to say a special congratulations to the many who today

become the first in your families to graduate from college what a remarkable

achievement today is a day of celebration a day to celebrate all the

hard work that got you to this moment today is a day of thanks a day to thank

all the people who helped you get here the people who taught you and nurtured

you cheered you on and dried you tears or at least didn't write on you with a

sharpie when you fell asleep at a party

today is a day of reflection because today marks the end of one era of your

life and the beginning of something new a commencement address is meant to be a

dance between youth and wisdom you provide the youth someone comes up here

to be the voice of wisdom that's supposed to be me I tell you all the

things I've learned in life you throw your cap in the air you let your family

take a million photos and hopefully post them on Instagram and then we all go

home happy today is gonna be a bit different we'll still do the caps and

you still have to do the photos but I'm not gonna tell you today what I learned

in life today I'm gonna try to tell you what I learned in death I've not spoken

about this publicly before and it's hard but I promise not to blow my nose on

this beautiful Berkeley robes one year and 13 days ago I lost my husband Dave

his death was sudden and unexpected we were in Mexico celebrating a friend's

50th birthday party I took a nap he went to work out what followed was the

unthinkable I walked into a gym to find him lying on the floor I flew home to

tell my children that their father was gone I watched his casket being lowered

into the ground for many months afterwards and it many times since I was

swallowed in the deep fog of grief what I think of as the void an emptiness that

fills your heart and your lungs constricts your ability to think or even

to breathe Dave's death changed me in very profound ways I learned about the

depths of sadness and the brutality of loss but I also learned that when life

sucks you under you can kick against the bottom find the surface and breathe

again

I learned that in the face of the void we're in the face of any challenge

you can choose joy and meaning I'm I'm sharing this with you today in the hopes

that on this day in your lives with all the momentum and the joy you can learn

in life the lessons I only learned in death lessons about hope about strengths

and about the light within us that will not be extinguished

everyone who's made it through cow has already experienced some disappointment

you wanted an a but you gotta be let's be honest you got an A - but you're

still mad you applied for an internship at Facebook but you only got one at

Google she was clearly the love of your life but then she swiped left

gameofthrones the show has diverged way too much from the books and you're mad

because you read four thousand three hundred and fifty two pages you will

almost certain face more and deeper adversity there's loss of opportunity

the job that doesn't work out the illness or crime which changes

everything in an instant there's loss of dignity the sharp sting of prejudice

when it happens there's loss of love the broken relationships that can't be

repaired and sometimes there's loss of life itself many of you have already

experienced the kind of tragedy and hardship that leaves an indelible mark

last year Radhika winner of the university medal spoke so

beautifully about the sudden loss of her mother the question is not if some of

these things will happen to you they will what I want to talk about today is

what you do next about the things you can do to overcome adversity no matter

when it hits you or how it hits the easy days ahead of you will be easy it is the

hard days the days that challenge you to your very core that will determine who

you are you will be defined not just by what you achieve but by how you serve

a few weeks after Dave died I was talking to my friend Phil about a

father-son activity Dave would not be here to do we came in with a plan to

fill in for Dave but I cried to Phil I said I want Dave Phil put his arm around

me and said option a is not available so let's just kick the shit out of option B

we all at some point live some form of option B the question is what do we do

next as a representative of Silicon Valley I'm pleased to tell you that

there's data we can learn from after spending decades studying how people

deal with setbacks psychologist Martin Seligman found that there are three P's

personalization pervasiveness and permanence that are critical to how we

bounce back from hardship the seeds of resilience are planted in the way we

process the negative events of our lives the first P is personalization the

belief that we are at fault this is different from taking responsibility

which you should always do this is the lesson that not everything that happens

to us happens because of us when Dave died I had a very common reaction which

was to blame myself he died in seconds from a cardiac

arrhythmia I pored over his medical records asking what I could have or

should have done it wasn't until I learned about the three P's that I

accepted that I could not have prevented his death his doctors had not diagnosed

his coronary artery disease I was an economics major how could I

studies show that getting past personalization can make us stronger

students teachers who have students who fail who believe they can do bad

revisit their methods and have future classes that Excel college swimmers who

underperform in a race but believe they can do better do not taking failures

personally allows us to recover and even to thrive the second P is pervasiveness

the belief that an event will affect all areas of your life you know that song

everything is awesome this is the flip everything is awful there's nowhere to

hide from the all-consuming sadness the child psychologists I spoke to

encouraged me to get my children back to their routine as quickly as possible so

10 days after Dave died my kids went back to school and I went back to work I

remember sitting in my first Facebook meeting in a total haze thinking what is

everyone talking about and how could this possibly matter and then I got

drawn into the conversation and for a second the briefest of all seconds I

forgot about death that seconds helped me see that there were other things in

my life that were not awful my children and I were healthy my friends and family

some of whom are with me today we're carrying us quite literally the loss of

a partner often has severe negative financial consequences especially for

women so many single mothers and fathers struggle to make ends meet and don't get

the time off they need to care for their families

I had financial security the ability to take the time off I needed and not just

a job I loved but one where I was encouraged to spend all day on Facebook

gradually my children started sleeping through the night crying less and

playing more the third key is permanence the belief that the sorrow will last

forever this was the hardest by me for far because for so long it felt like the

overwhelming grief would never leave we often project our current feelings

out indefinitely we're anxious and then were anxious that

were anxious were sad and then were sad that we're sad instead we should accept

our feelings but know that they won't last forever my rabbi of all people

actually told me and this is a quote that I should lean into the suck not

what I meant when I said lean in none of you need me to explain the fourth P

which is of course pizza from cheese board

but I wish I had known about the three P's where I was your age because there

are so many times they would have helped me day one of my first job out of

college my new boss figured out that I did not know how to enter data into

Lotus 1-2-3 that's a spreadsheet ask your parents later his mouth dropped

open and he said in front of everyone I can't believe you got this job without

knowing that and then he left the room I was sure I was getting fired my very

first week of work I thought it was terrible at everything but really I was

just terrible at spreadsheets understanding pervasiveness would have

saved me a lot of anxiety that first week I wish I had known about permanence

when I broke up with boyfriends it would have been a comfort to know that that

feeling wasn't gonna last forever and if I was honest with myself neither were

any of those relationships and I wish I had understand personalization when

boyfriends broke up with me sometimes it's not you

it really is them that guy really didn't shower and all three peas ganged up on

me when in my 20s I got divorced at the time I thought that no matter what else

I did I was a massive failure the three peas are common emotional reactions to

so many things that happen to us in our careers and our personal lives and our

relationships you're probably feeling one of them right now about something in

your life but if you can recognize you're falling into these traps you can

correct because just as our bodies have a physiological immune system our brains

have a psychological immune system and there are things you can do to help kick

it into gear one day my friend Adam grant a

psychologist suggested that I think about how much worse things could be

this was completely counterintuitive to me I would have thought that getting

through something like death was about finding every positive thought I could

worse I said to him are you crazy how could things be worse he looked at

me and said Dave could have had that same cardiac arrhythmia driving your

children the minute he said it I felt overwhelming gratitude that my children

were alive and that gratitude overtook some of the grief finding gratitude and

appreciation is key to resilience people who take the time to list the things

they're grateful for are healthier and happier my new year's resolution this

year is to before I go to bed write down three moments of joy and this really

simple practice has changed my life because no matter what happens each day

I go to bed thinking of something cheerful try it try it tonight when you

have so many things to be joyful for although maybe before you go to kips and

don't remember what they are

last month 11 days before the anniversary of Dave's death I broke down

crying to a friend of mine we were sitting of all places on a bathroom

floor I said 11 days a year ago he had 11 days left and we had no idea and then

through tears we asked each other how we would live if we knew we had 11 days

left as you graduate can you ask yourselves

to live as if you had 11 days left I don't mean blow everything off and party

all the time although I've already said tonight's an exception I mean live with

the understanding of how precious every day would be because that's how precious

every day actually is

a few years ago my mom had to have her hip replaced before that she walked

without pain but as her hip disintegrated every step she took was

painful today years after the operation she's

walking without pain but she's grateful for those steps something that never

would have even occurred to her before I

stand here today a year after the very worst day of my life the worst day the

worst day I can imagine and two things are true I have a huge reservoir of

sadness it is with me always it is right here where I can touch it I never knew I

could cry so often or so much

but for the first time I'm grateful for each breath in and out I'm grateful for

the gift of life itself I used to celebrate my birthday every

five years and my friends birthdays sometimes now I celebrate always I used

to go to bed every night worrying about all the things I did wrong that day and

trust me the list was long now I go to bed trying to focus on that day's

moments of joy it is the greatest irony of my life that losing my husband helped

me find deeper gratitude gratitude for the kindness of my friends the love of

my family and the laughter of my children my hope for you is that you can

find that gratitude not just on the easy days like today but on the hard days

when you will need it

there are so many moments of joy ahead of you the trip you always wanted to

take a first kiss with someone you really like finding a job you believe in

beating Stanford go bears all of these things will happen to you enjoy each and

every one I hope that you live your life each precious day of it with joy and

meaning I hope that you walk without pain and you are grateful for each step

and when the challenges come I hope you remember that deep within you is the

ability to learn and grow you are not born with a fixed amount of resilience

it's a muscle you can build it up and then draw on it when you need it and in

that process you figure out who you really are and you just might become the

very best version of yourself

class of 2016 as you leave Berkeley builds resilience

build resilience in yourselves when tragedy adjustment strike know that you

have deep within you the ability to get through anything and I mean anything I

promise you do as the saying goes we are more vulnerable than we ever thought but

we are stronger than we ever imagined

build resilient organizations if anyone can do it you can

because Berkeley is filled with people who want to make the world a better

place never stop working to do so whether it's a boardroom that's not

representative or a campus that's unsafe speak up especially at institutions like

this that you hold so dear my favorite poster at work reads nothing

at face book is someone else's problem when you see things that are broken and

you will see things that are broken go fix them

build resilient communities we find our humanity our will to live and our

ability to love in our relationships with each other be there for your family

and friends and I mean in person not just in a message with a heart emoji

lift each other up help each other kick the shit out of option B and

celebrate every moments of joy go bears

💕Tarot YouTube Channels That I Love!💕 13 informative and educational tarot channels! - Duration: 12:15.

Hi everyone, it's Katey, and today I have a video request, which is to share with you

some of my recommendations for Tarot channels. Now, this came from a person who

is fairly new to Tarot, and certainly very new to the Tarot community, and the

only two Tarot channels they are currently following is Ethony and myself.

And from what I gather from what this person was asking me, they were looking

for more discussion, education, informative sort of content. So as much

as ,I and I'm sure many of you, can appreciate tags and unboxings and those

sort of channels - and certainly I do plenty of that here I'm here on my own

channel! - I've tried to more incorporate channels that at least, to a certain

degree, do- are more discussional and educational and informative. And

certainly, this is not an exhaustive list, these are just the channels that came to

mind that I currently- what I'm really enjoying and what I personally am

getting a lot out of and learning from. I have made an effort to include people,

you know, newer channels, smaller channels, bigger channels, I've tried to include a

big range of channels, and so I hope that. the person who asked me this question. I

hope you find some channels you will really enjoy. and for anyone else

watching. I hope you discover some new channels, too. I did want to point out, too,

you that if you do find a channel that you really like, have a look at their

home screen, so like, their channel page, because most, I think all channels

these days, will have, on the right-hand side of the channel page, will have

suggested channels. And this can be automatic from YouTube, so just channels

that YouTube has deemed similar to their own channel, otherwise, as creators, we can

select channels that we personally would recommend or that we really enjoy. So if

you're really enjoying a channel, make sure to go have a look at their

recommended or suggested or similar channels on their channel page, because

you might discover some other channels that way, too. So, obviously in this

question this person mentioned Ethony, who is a wonderful Tarot goddess here in the

community. She has a Tarot business ,she does Tarot readings, she has the Tarot

Academy, she has a blog, she has a YouTube channel, all of the things! I will leave

links to everybody that I mention below in the description. I also wanted

to get out of the way two big, fabulous tarot channels that I'm assuming pretty

much everyone will know about. That's Kelly-Ann Maddox, formerly of The Four

Queens. She discusses Tarot sometimes but also more broadly spirituality,

alternative spirituality, psychology, self-help, self-love, all of that good

stuff. And, of course, the other big favourite amongst the community is Kelly

from The Truth and Story. Kelly- I would say her most useful videos, as far as

like learning the Tarot, would be her walkthroughs. I've also tried to do

channels that are updating at least semi regularly, so channels that I love that

haven't been around, like, nobody's posted in months, years, I haven't included those.

Probably the only almost exception would be Imogen Walters. Imogen is still around.

she's on Instagram and she posts intermittently on her YouTube channel.

but I wanted to mention her because I do think that what she does put up is

really gold. it's good stuff. I especially liked her 'Tarot Card by Card' series

which, you know, she hasn't finished, it's something that she just does as and when

it feels appropriate. And, basically she just sits and chats for 20 minutes to

half an hour, sometimes longer, about one card. And what I like about the way she

does this is it's not just a list of what she's read in books or keywords or

whatever,. You know, she starts with the generic meaning but then she gives

examples of lessons that she's learnt in her life that has taught her more about

that individual card. And so, I think, that's a really interesting, touching way

to learn about the Tarot, is to see how other people have made an emotional,

personal, experiential connection with the cards. I think there's a lot to learn

in that. The next channel I would like to recommend to you is Atypical Tarot. Now,

this is a really cool channel that I only discovered a few months ago, but

what I really like, and why I'm recommending this channel, is largely

because he does a great job of doing like 10 to 15 minute videos talking

about one card and like a connection with some other aspect of life or a

lesson that this card has to offer. So his is a very interesting channel that,

you know, definitely deals with the core meanings of the cards but he does it in

a very interesting and refreshing way, with specific examples from his life and

his lessons. Again, which I like. He's also done other

videos on like the basics of Tarot and things psychometry, so very

interesting channel. The next channel I have on my list is Fables Den. Now I

would say that I love love her Instagram because she provides some really, really

fun spreads, like, really fun, like, quirky spreads about, you know, like the kind of

like gamer themed, or just geeky, nerdy, playful spreads, which I just I love

those spreads, And as for her channel, she kind of brings a bit of that

personality into her channel too, but I do really like the way that she kind of

breaks down Tarot and discusses slightly different topics around Tarot that I

don't always see discussed elsewhere. She did a video recently on

anthropomorphizing decks which is actually something that I've been

thinking about talking about, too, because I think it's super interesting, and I did

enjoy her video. She's also done videos about getting to know your deck, good

questions- or how to frame questions when you're reading for yourself, things like

that. The next channel I will recommend is probably the most instructional of

all those on this list, and that is Georgina Toland - I hope I'm pronouncing

your last name correctly. I really like her videos, they're quiet structured and,

you know, she has set ways of doing things that she's teaching, and so I

don't necessarily, you know, implement all of those things into my practice or

agree with everything for me, but I do think, especially when you're learning,

that kind of structure of 'this is how I do it and this is how I'm teaching you

to do it' can be really helpful. She shows spreads and techniques, things

like that, does some reviews and suggestion videos. She did a suggestion

video regarding Tarot books, she did a spread I know recently about

interpreting your dreams, she's also done videos about how to determine timing

with Tarot, and she also does quite a bit of Lenormand stuff, too. So there's a lot

of stuff in there and I think a really good instructional channel. Next up is

Insect Reflection which is a channel I spoke about recently in my February

favourites video, and I just really like this channel. It's very new and I

wouldn't say it's so much instructional or educational as discussion, a really

interesting discussion and an take on the Tarot. As I said in that

video, my February favourites, my absolute favourite video that I've seen in quite a

while was Queering the Crone, so queering the Tarot of the Crone, which was an

awesome video and I highly recommend it. She also does an Advice Witch, I think

they're called, so people can send in questions and she'll do a reading, kind

of like, anonymously on camera, and I do like- I think seeing other people do

readings like that can also be very helpful when you're learning. So it is

still a new channel, not a huge amount of videos up there, but I do think that what

is up there is quality stuff and I'm really enjoying that channel. Next up is

the lovely Jessi Huntenburg. Now Jessi, kind of similarly with Kelly-Ann, she

discusses a lot of things, primarily I would say she's more focused on personal

development, she also does quite a lot of witchy stuff, which is cool, and then kind

of in amongst all of that, is Tarot, and she is a tarot reader. And she has this

running series called Real Talk Tarot where she kind of picks a topic and then

draws cards that are relevant to that and discusses, you know, how, you know, they

provide different lenses or different ways of looking at or interpreting that

topic. I know most recently she did politics and relationships, so she

discussed, for politics, cards like Justice, and for relationships, cards like

the Lovers and I think the Two of Cups. Next is Maven Unmasked, and she certainly

does do a lot of more unboxings and reviews and stuff, but in amongst all of

that she also does do more instructional, discussion videos. I know she's recently

done how to bond with your deck, she's also done how to cleanse and clear

a new deck when you get it or if you've gotten it in a trade. She's also spoken

before about how she works with crystals and the moon and things like that in her

practice. The next is the wonderful Anneke from

Nobody Here. Her channel is so interesting and it's the sort of channel

you want to sit down and just absorb,. You know, I don't always comment, I don't

always comment on many videos that I watch, but I also find myself with

Anneke's channel either having a lot to say or just wanting to take a step back

and think about what she said. Now I would say that her channel isn't

informative, it's not educational, its

discussion-based, and it is basically her discussing the thoughts she's having, the

experiences she's having around Tarot, what she's learning and how it's

influencing her life and her practice and her journey with Tarot. And it's deep,

it's personal and it's deep and it's interesting. I have a couple of channels

left to tell you about, and one is Samantha Menzo's channel. Now again she

does a lot of unboxings and stuff and reviews and hauls, which is awesome and I

love to watch, but why I'm mentioning her for this video is because the when she

does, kind of, sit down and discuss things, I really really appreciate her take on

things, and I find it very interesting, and she has a way of delivering that is

very sincere but also, you know, quite expressive with her opinions, which I

appreciate. One video that I really liked recently is why she doesn't finish

somebody else's reading for them, so just chatting about a few reasons why, if

somebody comes to her having, kind of, half done their own reading, why she

won't, you know, finish it for them and tell them what it means. Another video

that I just loved that she did recently was a bit of a Q&A video with her

grandmother. Her grandmother has been reading tarot since the '70s, is into

astrology as well and all of that stuff, so just just listening to the two of

them and their dynamic, but also just the experience of her grandmother was really

beautiful. She's quite funny and it was just awesome.

And last but not least, certainly not last because he's not one of my favourites,

but last because alphabetically he's last, is Tom Benjamin. I've spoken before about

he has been one of my favorite channels for a very long time and I stand by that

still. Especially at the moment, if you're interested in Sabilla or Marseille,

that's kind of his focus at the moment on his channel, but I also just find he

kind of will explore or discuss what he's exploring currently with the Tarot,

and do a lot of experiments. He talks about, you know, 'I'm just trying something

out and I'm doing it on video to see how it goes,' and so it's fun watching

somebody else learn, and inevitably you learn a lot watching that as well. I also

really appreciate his approach, which is to balance,

or move away from the strictly spiritual, psychological use of Tarot and to get

really practical with it. And I'm a big fan of Ben and have been for quite a

while, so I couldn't I couldn't leave him off this list. Of course, I would love to

hear your recommendations because I'm sure there's people I've missed and I'm

sure there's plenty of people that I don't even know about yet, so if there is

somebody that you love to watch in the Tarot-sphere who you've learnt from,

who teaches you things, whether that's directly through educational content or

more discussions and things like that, I would love to hear those recommendations

below. And of course, I, here on my channel, try to do a mix of Tarot unboxings and

reviews and chatty fun tags, along with more discussions and me sharing my

thoughts on Tarot, and then I also do pagan, alternative spirituality stuff, a

little bit of mental health. I also have my Therapeutic Tarot series, which is all

about me sharing how I use Tarot for my mental well-being and mental health

maintenance. So if you're interested in that, do go ahead and subscribe, and I

will talk to you all again next time. So much love, bye!

Should I Invest in Las Vegas Real Estate - Duration: 4:43.

Kris Krohn here with Limitless Wealth TV, we're talking about Las Vegas. Is this a

market that you should be investing in?

Las Vegas lucky city, roll the dice. Is this the place for you to be in real

estate? Well you might as well roll the dice on it cause I'm telling you, you're

late. Listen, I got out of Vegas in 2013. I was buying back in 2009 and 10, we were

buying homes there for our clients all around the country for ourselves, I

bought some of them myself, we were buying homes there for $90,000, a

$100,000, a $110,000 and I got out of the

market in 2014 when our last acquisition price was a $160,000.

Well let's talk about what's happened in just the last few years here. Currently,

the median price in Vegas is back up, it's $239,000

That's up 15% from the year before and that

markets been seeing double-digit growth over each year for the last several

years and so next year the projecting maybe a 6% growth but frankly, we're at a

$151,000 a square foot on average in that marketplace.

Those of you that are looking at Vegas, the time to be in Vegas was about three, four,

five, six years ago, those were the times when I was there, my buddies were in and

we were just having a heyday. Understand that when the market falls out, the

markets like Vegas that saw the greatest growth are going to have the biggest

comeback and they're going to snap back the fastest. We saw that in Phoenix when we

were there, we certainly saw that in Vegas but is it really the time to be

investing in Vegas anymore? For me it's an absolute no answer and let's talk

about why. In 2014, the last year that I was really transacting real estate there,

we only did 17 properties on average and a $160,000,

that was from doing it a few years prior all the way down to ninety or a hundred

thousand dollars. I want you to look at my exit. My last clients in that market

that bought a home for $160,000 have that home probably

worth around $240,000 so they've probably made sixty, seventy,

eighty, ninety thousand dollars. I'm sure they're thrilled, they're happy, that's

why I was there, that's why we did it but why wasn't I there when we could buy

homes for $180,000 and 190,000 and $200,000? Because we're too close to that rebuild value

and there's other markets that we can go like Orlando today where I'm still

getting homes for $130,000 and $140,000 that still need to go back up

to that $240,000, $220,000 price

point so there's a science to knowing when to get into the market and when to

get out and when you're buying in the price range I am you never have to get

out because you can always cashflow it. Cash flowing a property under the median

is your safest bet. If you're over the median then cash flow can kill you

because if you're negative cash flow and you're losing several hundred or

thousands of dollars a month, that's going to set you back a really long way so

Vegas, great place to invest in, it used to be. What I invest in there right now?

Well it all comes down to what I call opportunity cost. I struggle to

understand this principle when I was a college kid but I really live this

principle every day of my life which is, if I buy a home in Vegas today, what am I

passing up? What is the next best opportunity I could have been in on and

what's the difference? If I buy a house today in Vegas, let's say that in that

hot market, the average is 240, let's say I can get in there a home for 210 and

I'm like, sweet, $30,000 of equity, man. I crushed it, I rocked it.

I'm missing an opportunity to be in Orlando for example, also a growth market

where I can buy a home for a $140,000 that also needs to go

back up to $240,000 and I compare that $30,000

to this $80,000 and one of them is a lot bigger

than the other so Vegas had its time but right now it has reevaluated, it's

recapitulated, it's got its game back on which means that for me, I simply have

better markets to be in. Check out some of my other in related videos where I

can share with you some of the markets that are hot right now that I am

currently in and friends, that's the deal on playing Russian roulette

in Vegas. Timing really is everything and if you're going to play the market, you need

to make sure you play it the right way. Check out this playlist over here to see

the markets that I am currently investing in right now because I have

pulled out of Vegas but I've pulled right into some of the other best

markets that exist today. Make sure you subscribe, ring the bell and we got more

coming your way.

sadhguru - Out of control with control - Duration: 16:49.

Sanjiv Goenka: Being a

very deep cricket enthusiast

and now somewhat involved with the sport,

I see with admiration,

the rise and rise and rise of Virat Kohli (Referring to an Indian international cricketer

and current captain of Indian team).

I see his energy on the field,

I see his energy off the field,

I see the way he's transforming and rewriting the rules of the game.

The T20 format

140 to 160 was par score,

he's redefined it.

Now 190 is a par.

Sadhguru: 250

Sanjiv Goenka: 250, 240.

There is something within him that propels him more than others.

There are many people who are talented.

There are many people who have this ability,

but there are few who realize this ability.

What is it that takes one to realize

that he can do a little more,

he can inspire more,

he can create more,

he can create new standards?

Is there something from within

or is it something from outside?

What is it?

Sadhguru: I have also been watching Virat Kohli with interest

because

I have seen every great batsman in the last forty, forty-five years.

Very few have hit the ball the way he's hitting it.

Probably the only other person that I can think of is Vivian Richards (Referring to

a former West Indian cricketer),

who used to hit the ball like this,

but he did not have the sane

same sense of mission that this boy has (Laughs).

He just played for fun and you know, an island, Caribbean culture (Sanjiv laughs)

and he kind of didn't take it so seriously,

or did not go at it with a certain zeal

with which this boy is going.

But I think he was the only one who was striking the ball

the way this boy is striking today, which is very rare.

Most people, who have watched only cricket on the television,

don't understand this probably.

It's one of the most dangerous games on the planet.

A hard ball is coming at you over hundred-and-thirty, hundred-and-forty kilometers per hour

and this is the only sport where the ball is pitched

and it swings this way, that way,

which gives you a fraction of a second to make your decision

how to handle that ball.

It's… It's a very dangerous game.

You must… You know, there're bowling machines.

They may be there in Kolkata.

Yes?

The bowling machines are there.

Young men, I'm telling you,

don't try hundred-and-forty kilometers.

At eighty or ninety kilometers,

just… make

Set the bowling machine at ninety kilometers

and stand there and see how the ball comes at you.

It's crazy, okay?

So, every ball is different, the way it's coming at you.

So it needs to be handled.

Everybody who is there we must understand is very good (Laughs).

They may look clumsy, they may get out for zero

but they're very good with what they're doing.

But somebody stands out like this.

This reminds me of

There was a motorcycle rider who is known as

whose name was Kenny Roberts (Referring to Kenneth Leroy Roberts, an American former

professional motorcycle racer)

who won the world championships five times in a row.

People couldn't believe it because

you have to win sixteen races across the country to get to the championship.

All the machines are prepared by the top companies

and the talent is at the highest level,

but winning five in a row was considered unprecedented and impossible.

So they asked him,

"How do you do this?"

So he said,

"I go out of control with control" (Laughs).

I understand that very well (Laughs).

I live every step of my life like that –

always out of control, but with control (Laughs).

This is what everybody is seeking.

They want little madness in their life,

but they don't want to go insane.

But their longing for safety and security

makes them insulate themselves from that little madness.

Then they wonder

"What's happened to my life?"

It's becoming boring and no good.

They try to step out,

then they get hit by something.

They again build walls around them.

This process is going on.

So when you take an example like this –

one thing is the zeal,

another thing is loving what you're doing.

Really loving what you're doing.

That's what you want to do.

This once happened.

I was just walking into the Chennai airport

and the Indian hockey team was leaving for Germany for Champions Trophy that year.

A few years ago the Indian hockey team came and spent

a week or ten days in the Yoga Center

and we had helped the previous team

but this was a new team.

So when I walked in, KPS Gill (Referring to Kanwar Pal Singh Gill, former president of

the Indian Hockey Federation (IHF)) was there

and he saw me and said,

"Sadhguru, you must come and speak to the boys.

We have a psychologist who is speaking to them right now" –

in the airport just before they leave for Germany.

Many of these boys have never (Laughs) gone out of the country.

For the first time, they're going.

At that time, half the team was from the tribal belt

because they all came off the Tata Academy.

So they

I went there to see what they're talking.

So this psychologist is trying to pep them up.

He is telling them

I can't repeat this in Hindi,

but he's telling them,

"Your parents have brought you up,

you have to bring pride to them.

One billion people,

full Bharat is watching you,

you cannot disappoint them."

These boys (Gestures) (Laughter)

These are all eighteen, nineteen-year-old boys from the tribal belt.

One billion people, their expectations

and their parents' honor,

they're just dazed like this (Gestures) (Laughs).

So they asked me to speak.

I said, "See…"

I asked them, "Do you guys know how to play hockey?"

I asked them to bring the sticks and the

I played hockey right through my school and college.

So I said,

"You guys,

do you know how to play hockey?"

They said, "Yes."

I said, "No.

You guys don't know how to play hockey."

They said, "No."

Suddenly they became,

"No, no, we know how to play hockey."

"Then if you know how to play hockey,

this is all you do.

Those seventy minutes,

the ball must be continuously in the goal.

That's your goal.

You want the ball to be constantly in the opposite goal.

Don't try to beat Germany and Pakistan and somebody and somebody.

Just put the ball in the goal.

You like to do it, isn't it?"

"Yes, we like to do it."

Said, "Just do that,

forget about Bharat and your parents and everybody (Laughter/Applause)

for some time."

And last

One of these conversations I had in Hyderabad,

one of the film actors,

his final question is,

"Sadhguru, all this is okay.

But in cricket,

how to beat Pakistan" (Laughter)?

I said,

"You should not try to beat Pakistan.

You should just learn to hit the ball."

There is no Pakistan in the ball, all right?

You just have to hit the ball.

You don't have to beat Pakistan.

If you try to beat Pakistan with your stupid emotions,

you will do something stupid,

which has been happening continuously.

Now,

I think recently Virat Kohli came on the television and said,

"My only problem is I get angry.

I want to be like a monk," something he said,

whatever his own version of being

wanting to calm.

I think he needs balance.

With the kind of talent he has,

if he learns to become balanced,

he is going to be a phenomena.

He's going to be a

a new cricketing story on the planet,

not just one more player.

He has the necessary ingredients.

I said this when he was seventeen.

I saw him playing in Singapore

for the under eighteen team or something,

he was captaining that team at that time.

I saw this boy playing and then only I said,

"This guy will go far."

And then he vanished out of my radar for almost five, six years

and then he surfaced suddenly one day in the test (Laughs)

in the Indian team

and now he's going the way he's going.

He needs to balance himself.

If he learns to be a cool fire,

not a fire that burns him up,

then he will do things which probably has not been done for a long time.

I think we can give him those tools of self-transformation

which will not take away the fire.

See, there are two ways to fire yourself.

If I get angry I can propel myself

this is one way.

But all of you know

whenever you're angry it propels you,

at the same time,

it takes away your sense in many ways.

It takes away your capabilities.

We can show you scientifically

Medically, we can show you

how your system is getting poisoned when you are angry.

Instead of being that way,

with sheer pleasantness you can drive yourself.

You do not know how to

See, there is… there...

We have been driving internal combustion engines for a long time

which have been smoking and polluting and killing us

in many ways but they've been propelling us.

Now, we are coming to engines,

which has no internal combustion

which smoothly drives

without a noise,

without smoke,

without nothing

We're just coming to that.

We're just coming of age with automobiles.

Similarly, it's time humanity comes of age that

you learn to propel yourself

in a very pleasant manner.

I am also on twenty hours a day,

I'm just fooling around" (Laughs).

Why do you need anger and this and that,

if out of sense, you can drive yourself?

It is not necessary you have to drive yourself with anger or hatred.

Yes,

those things give you energy in a certain way,

but they take away your competence in many levels.

This boy needs tools for self-transformation.

I think we should deliver that to him (Laughter).

I would like to do that to him

because he is a phenomena in waiting.

Sanjiv Goenka: Yes. Yes.

If already not made

I mean he can be a much bigger phenomena

but he's already a phenomena not in the making

Sadhguru: See, a one-season phenomena will be forgotten.

Sanjiv Goenka: Forgotten.

Sadhguru: He needs to become a

Yes (Laughs).

Sanjiv Goenka: In cricket you deal with lots of celebrities,

lots of kids who over a period of time become celebrities

and develop huge egos.

And when you see the game from within,

you see how large the egos are

and to the outside,

the ego doesn't overtake the interests of the team

but sometimes it does.

How does one, as an owner,

draw a line between balancing the ego

and the interest of the team?

So, if you

if you were to pull up a celebrity,

he's not used to it,

he sulks (Sadhguru Laughs),

then your team loses out.

If you don't,

because of his ego,

sometimes wrong decisions are taken.

So, how does one balance this?

Sadhguru: This is not just in cricket,

this is everywhere (Laughs).

Sanjiv Goenka: Absolutely.

Sadhguru: You give somebody to do something.

If they do it for three days,

they have reached stratosphere (Laughs), you know?

If they do something, get little recognition,

if five people clap their hands,

they will rise.

So till they fall, they don't realize

this is not the way to play cricket (Both laugh).

Up in the air you can't play cricket,

you got to be on the ground.

So, how to deal with it?

There are many ways

but the best way is not that we don't deal with it.

When we… When I say we don't deal with it,

they need tools for self-transformation.

What has happened with them is just this –

they are still driving themselves

because of the euphoria of the crowds,

what is written in the newspaper,

what other people are saying about you.

Or in other words,

you have not found anything about yourself –

you are a product of other people's opinion.

Everybody is saying you're great

and you start believing you're great.

No.

You don't have to believe anything.

If you're good at something,

you just have to keep on seeing how to enhance that.

It is

This is the problem with people –

they think

they become ambitious.

Ambition means you're tweaking your desire.

Instead of tweaking your competence,

you're tweaking your desire,

which is just the wrong way to do life.

You don't need to be ambitious,

you don't need to think "I have to score hundred runs,"

you don't need to think "I have to become a champion."

You just have to hit the ball that's coming at you right now.

That's all you need to do.

For this,

you of course need training - that's a different aspect.

Without that you wouldn't have come here.

You just need the necessary alertness and presence of mind

to do what you have to do at that moment.

Instead of that, they've become stars.

Your reputation will not play.

It's only which

your competence which plays (Laughs).

Your reputation cannot play.

So, by the time they realize this,

many of them are flushed down

because there is a younger crop coming up doing things.

I think these boys,

you know, because without other exposure,

without… generally with education they're just coming straight into the game

and they fully give themselves to the game.

Before they know what's happening,

they're quite lost - many of them,

not all of them.

Many have matured with the game,

others have gotten lost with the game.

If they are given little education about how to handle themselves,

I think they'll come out on the tops.

Gov't Mule - "Dreams & Songs" Lyric Video - Duration: 4:16.

My whole life's been filled with songs and dreams

When I was a child I had a time machine

Little did I know - it would go too fast

Little did I know - I could see the future

But not the past

Leave it all behind - come what may

Always thought I'd be coming home someday

Little did I know - that life is hard

Here I am now - staring out a window

at my old backyard

Is there any comfort to be derived

In knowing that most of our lives

Can never be the same

We can never go back home

And those that can are lucky, I guess

To somehow escape from this mess

Me, I can only do it in Dreams & Songs

Trying to fill a hole while running a race

Leaves an even bigger empty space

But a moving target is harder to kill

Never was one for taking it easy

or standing still

Is there any comfort to be derived

In knowing that most of our lives

Can never be the same, we can never go back home

And those that can are lucky, I guess

To somehow escape from this mess

me, I can only do it in Dreams & Songs

Letters I Never Sent - Duration: 4:16.

You asked why I was late that day.

You see, I was on my way to you.

It was pouring rain.

I was rounding a bend, halfway there, when my car swerved and I felt it hydroplane along

the curve of the road.

I was headed for a nosedive into the bayou.

Bob Dylan's "Don't Think Twice It's Alright," floated out of the speakers.

The wheels screeched and I saw a blinding flash of lightening right outside the passenger

seat window.

My hands tugged on the steering wheel to regain control, knuckles whitening with the strain,

but the car was in nature's grip; there was nothing I could do to stop a crash.

I thought of why you asked to see me.

I frantically shifted the gear into park and pulled up on the break lever with everything

I had, veins protruding from my neck and temples as I pushed through one last effort to right

the wheels.

The car was sliding sideways across both lanes toward the grass and concrete cavern that

hedged the dark brown water.

I'd be under in seconds.

I tried to guesstimate how deep the bayou was, but I knew, based on the car's velocity

and the wheels' angles, it was likely to flip.

The depth wouldn't matter if I was upside down at the bed of it.

It had been about twenty seconds.

I screamed out as loud as my lungs would let me in a deafening battle cry, as if charging

toward death unafraid.

I felt an immense calm distill my blood.

Everything was quiet, but for the soft patter of rain on the windshield.

My mind folded its shutters.

I closed my eyes.

Our Father who art in heaven.

Hallowed be thy name.

I felt tears begin to well.

The car's back wheels whipped it around and I was sliding backwards, into the bayou.

I knew it was done.

Tears dripped down onto my neck.

Suddenly, the car jolted to a halt.

I slowly opened my eyes, blurry from the tears, and when my vision clarified, the car was

still on ground.

Trembling, I unclasped my fingers from the steering wheel.

My palms were bleeding from the clench of my nails.

I looked up in the rearview.

The car was tilted toward the bayou, but all four wheels were dug into the hedge, gripping

on tight.

Any further down and the weight of the car would've tipped it back.

I released a strangled breath, curved my hand around the gear, and, with my foot hovering

above the gas, switched it into drive at the same time I shoved my foot down.

The car lurched forward and above the bend of the walking path.

It dropped over the curb, first its front then back wheels.

I carefully pulled the steering wheel straight, and in moments, I was parked at the intersection,

staring up at a red light, as if nothing had happened.

The light blinked green.

I closed my eyes.

A car snaked up behind me and blared its horn.

I dragged my eyes open and drove to you.

We met at the coffee shop.

"Late again," you said.

"Only fifteen minutes," I replied.

Susanna Reid plagued with bizarre foot fetish requests: 'I'll pay £15' - Duration: 4:57.

Susanna Reid plagued with bizarre foot fetish requests: 'I'll pay £15'

The 47-year-old Good Morning Britain presenter has been asked to share photos of her feet to fans on Twitter.

The bizarre request was made when Susanna encouraged her 491,000 followers to donate to BBCs Greg James and Scott Millss Sports Relief effort.

Someone then asked the telly siren from an account called Holly Willoughbys tights: Can we see your feet in tights if we donate twice? One replied: I will pay 15 to see your feet in tights with a ladder. Susanna quote tweeted the weird demand and wrote: No, because that would be just weird..

Fans were gobsmacked by the strange comment and flooded the mum-of-threes feed in shock.

Some even called for her co-host Piers Morgan to whip out his dippers on social media instead.

But this isnt the first time Susannas feet have become hot topic on the internet.

There are countless accounts on the social media account dedicated to Susannas assets.

One such profile is called Susanna Reids Bum and shares everything from snaps of Suss outfits to, you guessed it, pics of her behind.

"Can we see your feet in tights?" Twitter Sex and relationship expert Dr Pam Spurr (online at drpam.co.uk and @drpamspurr) isnt surprised by Susanna receiving such attention.

Speaking exclusively to Daily Star Online, she revealed: As a fixture on morning television, Susanna wears a huge array of high heels, so theres something for every fetishist.

Now that people are much more open about sex and fetishes - especially foot and shoe fetishes - of course feet-fansites pop-up on line.

And with celebrities posting selfies – and often top-to-toe photos – this gives those with a fetish huge opportunities to see what their favourite celeb's wearing when it comes to footwear. Pam continued: Foot fetishists are a varied lot, dont make the mistake of thinking theyre all the same.

For some fetishists its about sensuality, they love the sleek lines of a foot.

Others love the look of perfectly pedicure toes.

For some its about masochism and about worshipping their partners feet.

And often its about the heels, not the feet.

The fetishist fantasises about being on walked on by sharp stiletto heels.

Or having to suck on dirty heels. She also revealed how someone can develop the fetish: Its often linked to a first or early sexual encounter.

For instance, in the middle of foreplay their partner sensually stroked their leg with the heel of their shoe.

Simply that action that gave them a bit of a tingle, in the midst of foreplay, and sparked an interest in feet or shoes.

Many women freak out when they discover their man has such a fetish, I say get him to give your feet a fantastic massage! And dont worry, in by far the majority of cases it's a harmless fetish. Catch Good Morning Britain weekdays from 6am on ITV.

3 Low Calorie Cocktail Recipes | Adapted Classic Cocktails - Duration: 1:59.

Hey everybody and welcome to the video.

Today I'm going to be showing you my 3 favorite classic cocktails and how to make them while

still saving a few calories.

The old fashioned is my all-time favorite drink.

Really easy swap for this one here, all you need to do is take out the sugar or simple

syrup and replace it with zero calorie stevia.

This next one is another classic, the gin and tonic, except instead of the high calorie

tonic you're using zero calorie seltzer water.

Next up we've got the moscow mule.

The only difference here is we're omitting any sort of sweetener or simple syrup.

The ginger beer provides plenty of sweetness and is still a delicious and refreshing drink.

That's going to be it for me this week, I hope guys enjoyed this one, and I hope everyone

has a fun and safe St Patrick's day tomorrow, I'll see you guys all on Monday.

KINGDOM COME DELIVERANCE & RACISM // MrStainless001 - Duration: 12:18.

A few weeks have passed now since the release of Kingdom Come Deliverance but that hasn't

stopped the emergence of articles, videos and blog posts about the topics of racism

and diversity in Kingdom Come Deliverance.

If you follow me on Twitter you'll have seen a thread I had posted near the games

launch about how content creators and journalists on both sides of the argument are covering

this topic.

I didn't want to add my voice to this conversation until I'd done my own research and talked

to people more knowledgeable in this area than myself and so today I'm going to share

what I've learned and hope to shed some light on this topic in a civil manner.

Now before we get into this I do want to say that I think the manner in which the discourse

has been occurring around this topic from content creators has, on the whole, been pretty

shocking.

The videos that have been made by some creators either just call people who think Kingdom

Come Deliverance is racist snowflakes and SJW's or they base their arguments on points

that are just generally false.

One of the most popular videos covering this comes from a fellow creator Resonant.

Now I've nothing wrong with Resonant so please don't see this as some kind of hit-piece

on the guy but the majority of what he says in his video is just rubbish and only weakens

his argument.

Saying that there were no people of colour in Europe until slaves were brought from Africa

is just ridiculous and could easily have been proven to be wrong if he'd done a quick

Google search as he would have discovered the Moors in Spain and the multi-cultured

Byzantine Empire for example.

Calling people who think the game is racist SJW's and snowflakes also in my opinion

just weakens your argument, it makes you seem petty as you lower yourself to name calling

in order to seemingly win an argument.

There is a reason why this SJW language is being used though, and it centres around the

games Director Daniel Vavra.

Vavra is a supporter of Gamergate, an event that kind of shook up the gaming industry

a couple of years ago, I'm not going to attempt to try and explain what it is, it's

an incredibly vast topic, if you want to know more do feel free to research it a bit more.

Gamergate pushed back against a mandatory need for inclusion and diversity and as such

by being associated with the movement, and because Vavra is the Games Director, Kingdom

Come Deliverance was branded as racist by association with Vavra saying the reason there

are only white people in the game is because there's no historical basis to prove otherwise.

Those arguing that Kingdom Come Deliverance is racist tend to centre on that point, those

that argue that it isn't racist either just call the other side SJW's and snowflakes

or they spout false claims and wild generalisations, like there were no people of colour in all

of Europe at all, that they don't back up with any form of historical evidence whatsoever.

That really pissed me off.

And so, I did what I usually do when I get pissed off, I made a cup of tea and went about

trying to change that.

If you've been around my channel for a length of time you'll know that I sat down with

three renowned Historians and talked about historical accuracy in For Honor.

This time I got in touch with Oxford University in England to talk to an expert on the Holy

Roman Empire who has written books on the subject to ask for their thoughts on the topic.

Now it should be noted, this video has nothing to do with Daniel Vavra's personal opinions,

thoughts or leanings.

Instead what I am aiming to look at here is the historical basis for saying whether or

not that Kingdom Come Deliverance is inherently racist for its lack of ethnic diversity.

That is important.

It's also important to note that the historian I talked to is not affiliated with me or my

opinions in any way which is why I'm not naming them in this video also.

With that out of the way there were two questions I wanted to ask the historian, and they were

this, What would have been the cultural makeup of the Holy Roman Empire during this time

period circa 1403? and If the Holy Roman Empire, and Bohemia more specifically, was entirely

consisting of a Caucasian populace, would it have been common to see foreign traders/

merchants/ diplomats etc throughout the kingdom?

For me those were the key points that were prevalent in this argument, first of all to

establish whether the Holy Roman Empire was made up of numerous cultures and if it wasn't

would it be common to see merchants from, say China/ Africa/ the Middle East, travelling

through the land.

If it was, the argument could be made that Warhorse Studios would have had historical

basis to include different ethnicities under this reason.

This is what the historian said in response.

In response to the first question:

'cultural make up' is a pretty broad term.

If we are thinking linguistically, then the Empire was multilingual in 1403.

The main 'culture' was German, but with numerous dialects and no standardised spelling

so that people some distance apart would barely have understood each other.

The empire also included what is now northern Italy, Switzerland, Netherlands, Belgium,

Alsace and Lorraine, southern Denmark and parts of Poland.

The Baltic coast was still more 'Slavic' than German, and there were substantial Slavic

minorities in the area south of Berlin – the Sorbs, who remain a distinct community today.

Bohemia was a distinct kingdom within the Empire, with Czech as a major language, but

the Bohemian elite were fairly cosmopolitan and would also have spoken German and Latin.

The elite intermarried with Germans, Austrians, Poles and Hungarians.

There were substantial Jewish minorities, especially in Prague.

So the short answer to this is that the Empire was culturally diverse, but still 'European'.

So, we have established that the Holy Roman Empire was still seen as being European, the

suggestion there that that thereby means it would have been entirely or at least mostly

made up of caucasian citizens.

So, onto the next question, would it have been common to see foreign traders/ merchants/

diplomats etc throughout the kingdom?

The real ethnic divisions, such as they were perceived, were between 'Germans' and

'Slavs'.

Neither of those categories was clearly defined, nor understood in the way they would be today.

Identity was as much political (in the sense of rights and 'liberties' being rooted

in a place, rather than individual citizenship) as it was linguistic or otherwise ethnic.

People were surprisingly itinerant, especially if involved in certain trades, notably cattle

drovers who moved across northern Germany.

Bohemia was on a major east-west trade route connecting westwards to Nuremberg and eastwards

via Krakow to what is now Russia, as well as southward into Hungary.

Hungary was still a powerful, independent kingdom and not yet overrun by the Ottoman

Turks.

The real question here, obviously, is whether people of a non-European appearance would

have been common.

That cannot be answered definitively, since evidence is lacking and because later national

historical traditions have largely written such people out of the history of East-Central

Europe.

However, it is unlikely that non-Europeans would have been a common sight.

Some would have come through the trade route, but given the level of attention paid to the

Persian embassy to Prague in the early seventeenth century, it seems unlikely that non-Europeans

would have been common: the Persians were regarded as exceptionally exotic and unusual.

So, what we can discern here is that in their professional opinion, with the knowledge of

the period they have the historian I talked to finds it unlikely that you would have found

someone of non-caucasian ethnicity travelling throughout Bohemia circa 1403.

However it's not definitive, as they say this is a question that cannot be answered

definitively due to a lack of concrete evidence.

So, knowing this, is Kingdom Come Deliverance racist for not including ethnicities other

than caucasian in the game?

From a historical standpoint, no, what we know of the period at this point would point

us to the conclusion that you would have been hard pressed to find someone that wasn't

white in Bohemia in 1403.

However there could still have been a possibility, however slim, and therefore it could be argued

that Warhorse Studios could have included at least one merchant in the game of non-caucasian

ethnicity.

This equally could have communicated, as our historian said, how novel it was to have someone

who wasn't white in the land at this time.

It's strange to think then, how having one person of a different ethnicity in the game

could have helped communicate the point of how lacking ethnic diversity was in the Holy

Roman Empire at this time though interactions with

the player.

I think having conversations like this when it comes to video games is important, but

whats more important, at least to me, is that we take time to listen to each other and conduct

this discourse in a civil manner.

It's important that we, especially as content creators, take our time and do research, talk

to people who actually know answers to these questions, rather than spouting our own facts

which only serve to mislead and misinform our audiences.

I think what the Dev team have created in Kingdom Come Deliverance is fantastic, it's

not without it's faults, but it's a great game.

I know this video has attempted to tackle quite a heavy topic today but for me it's

important that this video is out there, for me anyway it's important to have a video

out there where someone actually talks to someone more knowledgable in an attempt to

get the facts.

Sri Prem Baba na Europa em junho 2018 - Duration: 1:51.

Hello my friend, alegrias!

Do you feel joy and enthusiasm when you wake up in the morning?

What is the meaning that you give to your life?

If you didn't need to make money, would you still be doing what you are doing today in the world?

These are questions that I will be offering answers to in the beginning of June

when I am coming to Europe. I will be launching my book

Purpose - The Courage To Be Who We Are

And I will also speak on other themes: on spirituality, relationships and self-realization.

I will be in Lisbon and Madrid during the two first weekends in the beginning of June.

There will also be other events happening there: the book launch, satsang (Public Talk), music

I will be there for those of you who feel like meeting me.

If you are interested, more information will be made available on my site and on social media

Just search by my name and all the relevant information will be available.

Until then. Namaste.
