Alright everybody, so it's been a while since I've made a video, so I figured I would go ahead and show some items that

I got from Toys 'R' Us today.

You know obviously everybody knows that Toys 'R' Us is going out of business

and I had seen some reports in a couple places where they were slashing prices of things like Amiibos and whatnot so I thought

I'd go down there and see what I could get for the Wii U, and this is what I found.

Alright so first off, We got...

The Disney Infinity starter kit (3.0).

I think Walmart still selling these for about like fifteen to twenty dollars, and this was on sale for $3.99 so pretty good.

Alright so next we got...

Star Fox Zero.

Which a lot of places are still selling for full price, which is you know between fifty to sixty dollars.

It comes with Star Fox Guard so you get two games for the price of one and this I think was like $17.98

so if you go to Walmart it's still full price. If you go to

Toys 'R' Us you can get it a hell of a lot cheaper.

Probably cheaper than used at this point really.

Alright and...

Mighty #9 which is a game that I..

heard mixed things about yeah obviously

But you know this one was on sale for $15 which a lot of places are still selling it for $20

So you know not like a huge discount but worth picking up for $15 bucks if you want to play

Mighty #9 on the Wii U.

And lastly I got Shantae half-genie hero.

Which I've seen it's pretty popular. This is the

"Risky Beats Edition" that comes with a soundtrack CD so that's a thing.

It's a pretty thick box for a

single game.

Anyway, I know next to nothing about this except that it's a franchise

that's been around for a little while so I thought I'd give it a shot.

So yeah, that's it just three pretty cool Wii U games and the Disney Infinity

Starter kit for 3.0. Which I should point out is the one that goes with this version.

Alright, so that was it.

Not not a lot of stuff at the Toys 'R' Us that I went to was

you know, like on clearance or completely slashed prices.

Amiibos were still mostly

full price. Things like Skylanders

I think we're going for like a dollar 98 or $2.99 depending on, you know what version they went with or what-have-you.

For the most part what I've seen in the two different Toys 'R' Us stores

I've gone to you is that most things are still full price

And it seems like they're going to continue to leave it that way for a little while.

Just so they can try to you know squeeze as much money as they can until it's absolutely time to shut the doors.

So I'll keep going back as often as I can until that does happen to see if I can find some better deals.

but until then I'm pretty happy with this haul because

You know it's probably not gonna be too much longer that you're actually even going to see new Wii U items left in

stores since the Switch has been out for like a year now.

How to Understand Real American English - Duration: 11:02.

- Hi! I'm Christina

and I'm so excited that you are here

with me today to learn about my new course,

Understand Real American English, Season One.

Before we start, I want to ask you a question.

What do you do to train your ear to understand

native speakers, especially Americans?

Maybe you watch American series with subtitles?

You listen to podcasts in English?

Or maybe you meet with a conversation partner?

And all of these activities are great.

They're things that I like to do as well

when I'm learning a foreign language.

But that's just enjoying English.

They're fun, they're easy

and you enjoy doing it,

you keep contact with the language

but it's not really working on your English.

You know, you probably watch

a lot of TV and movies in English,

but those dialogs are scripted.

And in English class, in the past perhaps,

you probably listened to scripted,

slow, articulate conversations

that are nothing like the conversations

you here in the real world.

And maybe you even live and work

with Americans so you feel like

because you're in this immersion situation

that your listening should become easier

much more quickly but it's not.

And I asked some students, some members

of the Speak English community

to describe the way that Americans speak

in their opinion and this is what they said.

"They speak fast and not correctly.

"There're 'codes' specifically for spoken English,

"like 'I gonna' and these are not natural for me,

"and I don't catch them immediately."

Another student said, "They, Americans, speak

"in a lazy way, so fast I can barely understand.

"I pay so much attention trying to figure out

"what they say, translating in my mind

"and organizing ideas, but the conversation

"continues and I'm lost."

And one more student said that it's

"as if a sentence was not made up

"of a sequence of words but of one continuous sound.

"And if you ask them, Americans, to talk slowly,

"after three seconds they start fast again."

And maybe you feel this way too,

you've had this same experience as these students.

And it's sure that in an ideal world,

we would have subtitles for real life conversations,

a little like comic strips.

You know, when I came to France as a student,

when I started talking to real French people,

having real conversations, I so wished

that there were these little speech bubbles

to have the subtitles so that

it would be easy to understand.

But when I was listening it felt like this.

I could catch some words but understanding

the entire message, it was like,

it was a little, a little fuzzy, a little blurry.

So, what do you need to easily understand

conversations in real English?

It's very simple actually.

You need real unscripted conversations

between Americans, and then someone

to explain the secrets to you, to make it

clear, easy, and to accelerate your improvement.

And also the transcripts of the real conversations,

to identify these 'strange sounds'

and progressively train your ear.

So, let me introduce my new course

Understand Real American English,

which is gonna give you all of that.

Now, what's in the course exactly?

You have 10 videos of real-life

conversations with Americans.

These are not scripted,

they're not classroom conversations.

They're real-life everyday topics

in real spoken English.

And this helps to train your ear

to understand the real, fast discussions

between what you read and what you hear.

And this helps you also to learn

to instantly recognize these common chunks,

these expressions that we use all the time

and which are really the key

It's not passive like watching television

or listening to podcast.

And this is going to, again, progressively

train your ear to instantly understand

the things that you hear

a little like in your native language.

If you're pre-intermediate, you're gonna focus

on improving your listening comprehension

of real-life English.

If you're intermediate, you're going

to move closer to understanding

your real-life conversations.

And for advanced levels all of the above,

but also you can start integrating

real-life expressions into your English

and even improve your pronunciation

because there're some activities

on pronunciation too.

building so I've seen it grow from in the 1960s, sixty five to where it is now.

>> I really love the communities where they've created almost like walking

streets, or districts where you can kind of stroll along. There's places to sit

and kind of hang out or talk to someone. Shopping becomes kind of a sort of a

communal experience, and where there are synergies going on with things like farmers markets.

not thinking the Town Center. They're thinking on the streets going from store,

to store, to store outside like a Grove atmosphere or something like that.

>> In my opinion, it doesn't really have a drawing card for to draw me into the Center.

>> It's an indoor outdoor kind of a thing where there is again a street you can there's

something about a street that's all lit up.

>> We're in Burbank, we're by the hills. We want to see that. We don't want to be

close in, barely any sunlight coming in, it's so dark in here.

Just put it outside. I think if people are outside that's why they enjoy San Fernando right now.

How do trains turn - Duration: 2:06.

A train negotiating a curve provides a dramatic scene

both for the rail fan as well as the casual observer

Yet...

a train negotiating a curve is the outcome of ingenious engineering

A car making a turn on the road achieves this by a rather simple mechanism

Its front wheels can swivel along an axis and assist in making the turn

The wheels of a train car are set in bogies,

two bogies per car,

while the bogie can pivot around a central axis

the wheels are rigidly fixed to their axles

and cannot swivel like in a road car

Then how does a train turn?

The answer lies in the design of the wheels

Close observation of the wheels

will show that the wheels are not cylindrical

but instead, have a conical profile.

A very small portion of this wheel,

the size of a penny,

is in contact with the rails

in this demonstration,

the wheels are exaggerated

to mimic the shape of a cone

and are fixed rigidly to the axle

observe there are no flanges on both the wheels

the conical wheels respond to the curve by lateral movement along their angular face

and turn along with the track.

At a curve, movement of the wheels along the conical face

in response to centripetal and centrifugal forces

generated at a curve

result in the wheels turning around their axis

This way in spite of being rigidly fixed in the bogies

rail wheels can successfully negotiate curves

Now the first time I met Moses Ssekyanzi was back in 2012 while we were

starting our Bachelor's degree in Computer Science at Makerere University.

Now 6 years down the road, Moses Ssekyanzi has proved himself,

time and again to be a very kind, very reliable, very intelligent and rich...!

Yeah, he's rich! A very rich friend of mine. He hasn't only proved himself as a friend,

I regard Moses Ssekyanzi as a brother because

from his personality, he's a very very is very kind gentleman

He's very smart, is intelligent, he's very God fearing, is very God fearing man

and all of you here today can witness, attest to his God fearingness

And Sharon the first time I met you Sharon was last year and at that point ,

Moses was on my throat, was on my neck and was like,

"Ronald I met the one, I met her" and

then when I met Sharon, it was love at first sight. I was like okay yeah I

met Sharon and trust me I loved your personality, I loved the

person that you were. I loved your God fearingness and I believe Moses and Sharon,

You guys are meant to be together.

All right?

You're a match made in Heaven and I believe that the next, the next years of your

lives are forever going to be changed because of your individual personalities

and your collective your collective personality um to the parents of Sharon,

I believe that Moses is going to be a great addition to your family. He won't

just be a son-in-law, he will be an actual son for you to love, cherish and

respect. He is a very respectable gentleman.

And I believe that only the

best waits for you guys out in the world. One caution, one word that I could

probably put in is that, well the same way that you feel right now, the same way

that you felt when you first met should be should like should provide you,

should be like a search light. Whenever you feel lost, whenever you feel whenever you

feel alone, just remember the first time you met the Sharon that you met Moses,

The Moses that you met Sharon. That should be the picture that keeps in your

mind. Whenever you feel angry, remember how you guys both felt!!!!!
