Korean books I use to study 🇰🇷 한국어 교과서와 공부방법 [EngSub] - Duration: 10:00.
Hi! It's been a long time since I've uploaded a video in Korean.
Someone asked on my channel that I make a video about Korean books I use
So I'll try and show them here
I don't really know what my level is in Korean to be honest
Idk if I'm intermediate or advanced or whatever
I haven't taken the TOPIK exam before
Anyway today I'll show you some of my books
When I first started learning Korean I used Yonsei Korean textbooks
And right now I tutor Korean and I use these books with my students
Yonsei, as you know, is a university in Korea
and they make really good textbooks
I think the textbooks are really nice cause of the colorful pictures and good grammar explanations
It's a textbook I'd recommend
but it's often very formal
I don't think the textbook uses language that people really use in daily life
The book is really good but if you want to speak a but more naturally I'd suggest using other books at the same time or watching Korean movies or dramas to get used to natural language too.
If you always use the most formal way of speaking, it can sound a little awkward
If you wanna use more natural-sounding Korean, I wouldn't suggest limiting your resources only to textbooks.
Ok next book is this one
This is a prep book for the TOPIK exam (intermediate)
I did until around the middle of the book
and it's not finished yet but
I don't really have a goal of taking the TOPIK exam
but because I like grammar so much I use this book to learn new grammar structures.
Highly recommended
Next one is Sogang Korean [Writing]
Sogang is also a Korean university
I really like textbooks that have CDs in them
You can't just learn a language from looking at textbooks, your ears need to get used to hearing the natural language too
This book is for advanced writing practice cause whenever I write Korean I feel I'm always saying the same things
I'd like to sound a bit more advanced in my writing
So my friend got me this book
I haven't actually used it at all yet to be honest
But I think it will be excellent cause its made by Sogang university
Next up: learning another language through Korean
it's really important
Here's Thai, Mongolian and Indonesian [books written in Korean]
Hari ini means today etc etc

It's important to learn another language in this way because...
for example if you're learning Korean right now
and you want to learn another foreign language at the same time
you won't forget Korean cause you'll be seeing it so much
Even though you're learning another language, you won't forget Korean since it will be appearing in the book at the same time
But I think you should at least be at an intermediate level in Korean to be able to do this
While doing this you can practice 2 languages at the same time
For example in this Mongolian book, there are long paragraphs in Korean explaining things
So if there's a word I don't know in the text I can look it up and learn more Korean while actually learning Mongolian
And not just textbooks,
other books are good to use as well!
I'm really interested in design
so my friend got me this book about Korean typography
I suggest not just using books that TEACH the language but using books written IN the language you're learning
For example, I like fonts a lot and you can see here's a long explanation about something to do with typography
and of course while I read that I'll look up words I don't know
and its important to study something that you're interested in or find fun
Here's another book I used, called "Putting in order bad habits" or "cleaning up bad habits etc"
I wanna become a good person so sometimes I read books like this

Argh my eyes aren't the greatest either
Anyway books like these have really difficult words in them
so while reading the book I'll write down every single word I don't know and find their meanings
And not just that, I'll also write sentences down that struck a cord with me or sentences related to topics I find interesting
So I don't really use a lot of textbooks these days
I prefer reading interesting things related to my hobbies

And this is "Our happy time", which is quite a famous book in Korea

It's a good idea to learn vocab through reading magazines
And this might be a strange way to learn, but
why not try using books meant for Korean people to learn English?
This book is called "This is vocabulary" (lol)
this book is for Koreans studying English
It has quite a lot of advanced words, like...
BUT
There's Korean written in this book too, so for example
[reading Korean equivalents]
you can also learn Korean in ways like this.
And lastly I'd like to recommend this Korean Grammar in Use book
people online who blog about learning Korean often use this book so I think you guys might know it already
There's a grammar structure at the top
and explanations on how to use it
and then after that
"Shall we practice" section for practicing what you've learnt
and at the back there's an answer key so its good for those of you who self-study
Highly recommend this!
I sometimes use apps but I don't think I use many for Korean tbh
Twitter is a good way to study
I'm learning Vietnamese and there's a Korean account for people to learn Vietnamese on
As you can see it's for Koreans learning Vietnamese
And in this way I learn Vietnamese through Korean
After that, other Korean apps....

The Resilience of Universe 7, Dragon Ball Super Plot Twist Become Reality - Duration: 3:30.
Hello and welcome back all my dragon ball theorist like many of you I am speechless
about the episode last night and the reason why it looked so great is because they brought
in so many people to work on this episode so we can expect the same from the final episode
next week.
There were tons of just wall paper worthy shots and of course we knew there would be
plot twist right?
Well one plot twist I didn't see and I love the
shock value of it was of course the re-emergence of Android 17.
Nothing suggested he would still be alive so my hats off to Toriyama for trolling us
into thinking he was dead but in a way he trolled Goku too because he was fighting for
17's sacrifice.
So as Goku now unconscious out of the fight just wait till he wakes up and is like Ohh
My God are alive!!
Well played Toriyama well played.
I also enjoy how misleading the spoilers were which is why I don't do theories on them and
why I say take them with a grain of salt they are vague episode descriptions at best and
aren't supposed to reveal much.
I am just going to fanboy out for a moment and say that this fight was just some brilliant
choreography and animation for the entire first half was top notch.
It was all action and just focused on the fight which was amazing they set it up that
way as we seen enough images of the Zen-oh's being amazed.
Jiren full power was a beast and to stand up to Mastered Ultra Instinct and go toe to
toe with it is just insane.
However the first real mistake he made this tournament and honestly was also just shocking
is that he tried to erase all of Goku's friends.
That is the one button you never push and has historically led Goku to instantly get
more power to defeat his enemy.
Of course there is some plot holes here because What If Goku didn't stop that blast?
Would Whis or Beerus stepped in?
Would the Grand Priest have put up a shield?
If they did get hit would Jiren then be eliminated for breaking the rules and Universe 7 wins
by default?
I know the storyboard isn't perfect but it was the nudge that Goku needed to ascend to
the level and gain enough power to deliver a finishing blow to defeat him in a classic
manner.
Then the one thing that was predictable of course as many of you suggested Goku losing
his power and that is the reason why Jiren wins.
Was hoping that wasn't going to be the scenario but with Frieza saving Goku for now a 3rd
time and then Android 17 coming back from the dead it made this situation enjoyable.
The overall moment of Jiren paying respect to Goku from their battle everything that
led up to this part and then to have the plot twist and now who knows how the next episode
will end.
I can't help but to be really excited for what is in store and think
they will have some bombshell surprises to maybe set up the Dragon Ball Super movie.

The Problem With Sonic Mania Plus - Duration: 6:07.
We don't usually do hot takes, but this is a story that we felt we needed to tell
as soon as possible.
Last night, after we got Baby Gamer to sleep, Kotor and I stayed up to do some cleaning
and tidying, because we're parents, and that's how we roll.
Almost immediately, Kotor got distracted – a Tweet from Tyson Hesse reminded him of the
South by South West Sonic the Hedgehog panel, and so he attempted to tidy the living room
and the kitchen while also watching the livestream on his phone.
The panel was hilarious.
I regularly heard squeals and chortles from Kotor as he reacted to the many fakeouts and
meme references that dotted the presentation, as well as his excited response when the Sonic
Mania 2D cartoon he'd been expecting got announced.
Sonic Mania Plus in particular seemed like a godsend.
We recently bought a PlayStation 4 (which we'll discuss a little in an upcoming video),
and Kotor had been considering buying Sonic Mania again for console.
All week, Amazon ads have been teasing Kotor, as they draw his attention to the collector's
edition for the game.
Kotor has no use for a big Sonic statue, but it's been hard to resist the appeal of a
physical release of sorts for the game.
Sonic Mania Plus, then, meets that need with a package that's far more appropriate.
The idea of new, extra game modes and, in particular, new characters, makes this even
more exciting.
When two new mystery characters were mentioned in the panel, it seemed logical that Amy Rose
would be one of them – after all, she's the only other classic Sonic character from
before the Dreamcast era that could be included, right?
Turns out, nope, Sega is going obscure with new Mania characters, plucking out Mighty
the Armadillo and Ray the Flying Squirrel from an old arcade game, SegaSonic the Hedgehog.
This was exciting for Kotor, who's been waiting to see Mighty return ever since he
was mysteriously left out of Sonic Heroes over a decade ago.
Mighty was a big part of the British Sonic the Comic series, and he was one of Kotor's
favourites as a child.
That said, in the wake of this announcement, it's hard to ignore the big problem at the
center of Sonic Mania Plus.
In overlooking Amy Rose as a playable character, the developers behind Sonic Mania Plus are
missing out on an opportunity to pander directly to their most important fan: our daughter.
Baby Gamer is a big fan of Sonic the Hedgehog, and she's a big fan of pink.
It's completely logical, then, that her favourite character is Amy – particularly
the classic Amy design from Sonic CD.
We're not exaggerating here, Baby Gamer loves Amy with a fiery passion.
Often, she'll sit for hours at a time watching the ending animation from Sonic CD on YouTube,
just to get a brief glimpse of Amy.
This character has had very little presence in the 2D Sonic series, but it's enough
to capture our daughter's heart.
You might wonder what the big deal is about having Amy as a playable character in Mania.
She's shown up in plenty of other games, so why shouldn't this celebration of Sonic's
history instead focus on some blast from the past characters?
For our family, Amy is important.
She's one of the few female characters in the Sonic franchise; a series of games that's
filled with colorful characters, but which has only a few, occasionally used female characters.
This isn't just a Sonic the Hedgehog problem.
Without delving too deeply into the discussion surrounding women in gaming, it's worth
noting that Baby Gamer's favourite game on the SNES Mini is Mario Kart, because it's
the only one that lets her play as a princess.
We even did a poll recently among you guys on the channel's community tab, looking
for good games that involve playing as a princess.
It turns out there are very few of these, and while you guys provided some excellent
suggestions for games that we should try out, it's clear that there aren't enough funky
platformers that will allow Baby Gamer to indulge her princess obsession.
As an aside, if we ever make a game, which we've considered as a hobby project, it'll
be about a princess saving the day.
Sometimes, you just want to save the day while wearing a pretty dress!
All is not lost for the possibility of Baby Gamer playing Sonic Mania as Amy Rose.
Thankfully, mods for the game exist that will allow us to make this dream come true, as
they also exist for other Sonic games on the Genesis.
Still, it would be nice for Sega to recognize this important part of the classic Sonic mythology,
and provide an incentive for a younger, female audience to embrace this game.
We're not trying to be overly negative here.
In truth, the purpose of this video is simply to add our voice to the fantastic Sonic the
Hedgehog fan community.
It's clear from the South by South West panel that Sega is happy to listen to fan
feedback surrounding their games.
This being the case, we'd love to encourage the team behind Sonic Mania Plus to consider
giving Amy at least some love in the updated game.
If Ray the Squirrel deserves a moment in the spotlight, then it'd be great to have Amy
somewhere in the game, for fans of the bright pink hedgehog.
In the meantime, we're all going to be watching the sneak peak of Sonic Mania Adventures on
repeat.
Some of us have been waiting a long time for more 2D animated Sonic fun!

Police Officer Fired For Refusing To Shoot Young Black Man Wins Huge Payout In Lawsuit - Duration: 4:57.
Over the last few years, there have been far too many stories of police officers fatally
shooting young black men and boys.
And it is for this reason that tensions between the police and those from ethnic minority
backgrounds are far higher than they should be in this modern age.
However, this particular story is about a white, former police officer's decision not
to shoot a black suspect, despite the fact that he was armed with a gun.
Twenty-seven-year-old Stephen Mader was fired for refusing to shoot a 23-year-old armed
black man back in 2016, and has now been given a $175,000 settlement for wrongful termination.
"At the end of the day, I'm happy to put this chapter of my life to bed," Mader said in
a statement.
The incident happened on May 6, 2016, in Weirton, West Virginia.
Mader responded to a domestic violence call from the Weirton Police Department and arrived
to find Ronald "RJ" Williams Jr. with a gun.
Williams is now believed to have been suicidal, and Mader did not believe he posed a threat
to him or any other officer.
Instead, of shooting the man, Mader wanted to calm him down by reasoning with him.
"He wasn't angry," Mader told the Guardian.
"He wasn't aggressive, he didn't seem in a position to want to use a gun against
anybody.
He never pointed it at me.
I didn't perceive him as an imminent threat."
Mader explained to CNN that Williams was "visibly choked up" and told Mader he wanted to be
shot.
Mader is a Marine veteran who had served in Afghanistan, and he wanted to use the training
he received in the armed forces to pacify the young man.
While Mader attempted to get Williams to put down the gun, two other police officers arrived,
and when Williams then raised his gun, he was immediately shot and killed by one of
the two officers.
Williams' gun was later discovered to be unloaded.
An investigation into the incident found the fatal shooting was justified, and 10 days
after, on June 7, 2016, Mader was fired by the Weirton Police Department.
Part of the termination letter read: "The unfortunate reality of police work is that
making any decision is better than making no decision at all."
Nearly a year later in May 2017, Mader filed the lawsuit which claimed he was fired due
to "failure to meet probationary standards of an officer" and "apparent difficulties
in critical incident reasoning."
Shortly after the lawsuit was filed, the Weirton Police Department argued that Mader was actually
fired for two incidents prior to the incident in question.
However, this did not match up with the termination letter which specifically condemned Mader
for not shooting Williams.
"No police officer should ever lose their job — or have their name dragged through
the mud — for choosing to talk to, rather than shoot, a fellow citizen," Timothy O'Brien,
Mader's attorney said.
"His decision to attempt to de-escalate the situation should have been praised, not punished.
Simply put, no police officer should ever feel forced to take a life unnecessarily to
save his career."
Joseph Cohen, the ACLU-WV executive director described the situation as "yet another incident
exposing the toxic culture that infects far too many police departments in America."
"We need to give law enforcement officers tools to effectively serve their communities.
That means we need to invest in de-escalation training, implicit bias training, and crisis
intervention training.

and police departments across the country that our communities deserve thoughtful, compassionate,
transparent law enforcement."
Meanwhile, Mader finalized his thoughts on the incident by saying: "The events leading
to my termination were unjustified and I'm pleased a joint resolution has been met.
My hope is that no other person on either end of a police call has to go through this
again."
It is clear that Stephen Mader was simply doing all he could to prevent the incident
from escalating into a tragedy.
And isn't that what police officers are supposed to do?
To protect the general public from harm as far as possible.
Hopefully, Mader will be able to find a new job in a different law enforcement department
because we definitely need more selfless and compassionate officers like him.

Thank you, Lord Jesus, that You are constantly guiding us in the things that are most on
Your heart, the most important to You.
Well, tonight after prayer, I wanted to give the Lord an opportunity to speak, even though
He hadn't said anything to me after my communion service.
So, I asked Him, "Lord, what would you like to say?
Because I know you want to say something to us…".
He always does.
"You are right Beloved."
He began.
"I do.
It's terribly important to Me that I am in communication with My flock.
So many in this moment are swayed by the events of the world as it is presented to them in
main stream media—which is crooked and perverted beyond remedy.
'My people perish for lack of knowledge' because they are too lazy to search until
they uncover the truth.
"You were this way, Clare, but the time had not yet come for your understanding to increase.
However, you understood from afar the true nature of things."
Yeah - I just couldn't bring myself to vote for anybody, because I felt they were ALL
corrupt and liars.
Jesus continued, "But now I am calling My people to awareness, action and accountability.
As you discover the truth, you do have an obligation to support it and vote.
"I know that no man is perfect.
I know there is underhandedness and corruption everywhere you turn.
But without supporting the best, though they be imperfect, you become the victims of the
worst.
"Some of you are called to social action and will find yourselves in positions of responsibility.
You will then understand more fully the high winds the lofty must navigate and survive
in the political realms.
Everyone can sit in their armchairs and find fault.
But let them get into a position with pressure on all sides and see if they can survive while
doing the right thing.
"That is one reason I abhor criticism and back-biting.
Those who make their tongues a sword, for cutting others down, are not part of the solution.
Those who want to make this world a more moral place will roll up their sleeves and get to
work.
"And so, I counsel you, My people: take responsibility for your government, whether in prayer, supporting
candidates, or educating the public.
Do not allow things to just flow right by you without taking a moral stance.
And remember that no one is perfect, but seek to support the ones who uphold what is important
to Me.
This may be in a greater or lesser degree, depending on your choices, but do what is
right according to Scripture.
"The mess your nation is in now is the result of decades of shallow thinking; sinfully busy
lifestyles that don't have time for Me or for their nation.
This is what Satan depends on—a lukewarm middle-class that is overwhelmed by endless
worldly preoccupations.
"It isn't easy to see how vital your government is… until you become the victim of corruption
and it's too late to do anything about it.
"This is what happens to nations that are not proactive in supporting what is right,
from the ground up.
This is how dictators take over peoples, oppress and murder them.
There is a tremendous cost to freedom.
And if your heart stirs when you consider your nation, you are hearing from Me a calling
to do something.
Get active and start somewhere.
It doesn't matter where you begin.
I will move you from position to position as you grow.
"I am putting this call out to you right now, because some of you are facing elections
that will deeply affect how President Trump is able to make the moral changes necessary
to stop the slaughter of the innocents and other disgracefully immoral laws."
Lord, you are so full of surprises!
I never expected this message.
"Well, I am grateful to you, Clare, for taking these last moments of your day to see
to it this message gets out.
It is short, but very important.
"And we are making progress with the things that are on My Heart.
So, please do not get under condemnation for pulling things together.
All that you have been doing has been in My will for you."
Thank you, Lord.
"Don't you feel the peace?"
I do.
It's very sweet.
"That is a sure indication that what you are doing with your day is very pleasing to
Me.
I want you to walk in freedom from guilt.
The enemy will twist whatever he can to cause you to feel guilty.
And it's debilitating to you.
So, I am taking this opportunity to tell you, 'Enjoy the peace; you are operating in My
will.'"
You are so kind to me, Jesus.
"I want to reward your faithfulness and put your heart at peace."
And I just want to mention here, that one of the ways the enemy confounds us, and gets
us confused is by saying, 'You shouldn't be doing that now.
You should be doing this."
And of course, if you're doing that, he'll say, "You shouldn't be doing this— you should
be doing THAT!"
He'll put you on the run from one thing to the next.
All the time, feeling guilty, like you're not doing what the Lord wanted you to do.
He has told me that He's going to remove some of the opposition that I've been coming up
against.
And He's doing it!
It's beautiful!
That's one of the reasons I have so much peace.
And I am praying for my enemies -that's a very, very important component in the state
of peacefulness in our hearts.
Is to pray for our enemies.
Pray good for them and pray that they would be converted.
That they'll see the error of their ways.
And as you do that, I believe the angels step up to protect you even more.
Because you are doing what is REALLY difficult.
You're forgiving those who're hurting you.
You're forgiving and praying for them.
And this is God's will for us.
