Greetings from Bogota, Colombia! I´m Lupiguetes... Remember #TodosSomosHunters (#WeAreHunters)!!!
Hello! You are watching Madhunter Channel...
This is a very special episode! I´m here with my dear friend Oliver...
How are you guys? I'm Oliver... Welcome!
He is also a collector!!!
We have met many years ago but I never had the opportunity to come and see his collection.
And guess what! Today we will all become the dark side ...
LOL!!! Even the dog!!!
Uff! I feeling goosebumps...
Wow! It´s been a long time since I´ve seen a so amazing collection like this one.
Your collection left me speechless Oliver, I don´t know where to start!
It seems we will spend hours looking at all these beautiful toys...
First of all, tell us why did you choose to focus on Darth Vader figures.
I remember that the first movie I saw at a cinema...
Was "The Return of the Jedi" and I got impressed with that character!
I think his appearance is awesome and I love it!
When you see Darth Vader, immediately you know that he is the evil character in the movie...
I can see you have vintage and new stuff... But will start with my favorite figures which are the vintage!
I can see over there the Lili Ledy stuff!!! I can´t believe it...
But I can also see ultra rare things such as bootlegs, foreign figures and things I have never seen!
You can start with this Hungarian bootleg which is very rare!
Can I grab it?
Sure!
Wow, it´s amazing!
I think it's is super well done!
It´s based on the original figure but the painting it´s different...
A cool thing about it is the card!
But even if it has the packaging is a bootleg figure right?
Of course! They didn´t have the license...
This piece is from the first productions they made, there were yellow and blue cards...
They were made only in the 80's...
It´s a really well-done replica!!!
I can say that the quality is similar to the Uzay SW bootleg figures...
Because is very detailed and accurate as the original.
Is this Uzay a repro?
The card and bubble are reproductions but the figure is an original.
I only have 2 repro packagings, this one and a box of the Basa (Peruvian toy maker) Darth Vader...
So I decided to put it on the repro packaging only for display...
Ok! Tell us about this figures...
It has a good story... It´s from Argentina.
It was made in the late 90´s by someone that used to sell them as vintage Argentinian bootlegs...
But later we realized that he created this figure...
So it´s a fake design?
Yes, it is...
But as I´m in the Darth Vader variations I loved the colors of this custom figure and I think it´s very cool.
Yes! it's very bizarre...
And we can speak of it as a custom-made figure...
Exactly!
And they are known as "Los Plasticos de Pedro Luca" (Pedro Luca´s plastics)...
That´s right...
His name was Pablo...
And he was also known for reproducing Model Trem figures (Brazilian bootleg toy makers).
That slide was used to print the cards of the first figures of Darth Vader which were the 12-backs...
As you can see the image is inverted...
Alright, so they took this scene to print the cardboards!
Yeah!
Incredible!
May I see that one?
Of course dude!
(Chewbacca similar sound)
LOL...
Uff... This is a beautiful piece and one of hardest to find of the Lili Ledy collection...
And also from all the world!
That is a very special figure for me because after I found it I decided to focus on Darth Vader figures...
There is always one piece that determines you as a professional collector...
And makes you start to invest in pieces like these ones.
Yes!
Wow!
Here you have "El Retorno" packaging (discontinued card for "The Return of the Jedi" figures in Mexico).
Look at the differences between "El Retorno" and "El Regreso" cards from Lili Ledy...
The colors are different but the hugest variation is the name on the cards...
"El Retorno de Jedi" vs. "El Regreso del Jedi" (the second one was the right translation for the movie)...
The card backs are also different.
On the top, I have a chronologic sequence of the appearance of Darth Vader...
And here I have the packages that are in Spanish...
For example, that one is a Poch (Spanish toy maker)...
The principal characteristic of them is that the card back is horizontal...
I´ve never seen this card back in person...
This figure is not sealed but the interesting thing is the back...
Only a few productions of Poch figures were made with these horizontal back...
Look at the logo from Poch over here...
A curious fact is that this logo appeared on the front of the cards but this particular piece doesn´t have it...
That is very rare!
Yes! It only says "Made in Spain".
And it has the original price sticker! 250P (P stands for pesetas, which was the currency of that time).
Nowadays Spanish figures are getting more valued!
I also have PBP (Spanish triad of toy makers) figures.
Right, those are the ones with the text of "1 Figura Gratis" ("1 figures for free")...
Most of them had that text, right?
Yes, but I also have the variation without that text which is hardest to find.
Wow it´s very cool!
It also says "El Retorno" like the Lili Ledy version!
You have the Argentinian!!!
This is the Top Toys variation...
Here we can see the quality of the bubble...
Everything! The card, the bubble, even the figure has less quality than the others.
The printing also have less quality!
But now that is the cool thing about them!
That makes them different and more sought-after.
One of the main characteristics of the TT figures is that they don´t have the little holes in the feet.
I love that the texture of the cloak seems like real leather.
Here there are variations from different countries such as the Takara (Japanese toy company) figures...
They made 3 different versions, the first and most particular one is this one with the white back...
Yes, I can see that!
But the interesting thing about it is that it´s the Takara "Sculpt" which means is not the Kenner figure.
Because the first figure they made was this one, which only had the Takara sticker but it was a Kenner figure.
So the other one is entirely made in Japan?
That´s right!
May I take it?
The white in the card is cool but...
The fact that the figure is very different from the other is what makes it awesome.
Look at the helmet it´s larger than the Kenner figure...
Then we have the Palitoy (British toymaker) figure and...
the "Les Guerres des Etoiles" figure which I don´t know the pronunciation... LOL
This was released in Canada!
This one is another Canadian version but it also says "Made in Canada" at the bottom...
Uff... The Italian version!
Yes!
Another difficult variation is this Toltoys version made for the Australian market...
I think that Vader is one of the most sought-after figures such as Luke...
So they are rare in any variation that they were made!
All the kids opened them and played with them, that´s why they are very scarce...
Yes... And that´s also a problem for me that decided to focus on one of the principal characters to collect!!!
This was made in Taiwan for Australia...
Yes!
But tell us... Which one do you think is the most different to the regular version?
Definitely the Takara "Sculpt"...
Can I take a look at the Glasslite version?
I can see that this one has huge variations in the painting!
Take a look at the buckle of the belt!
But it is not only the painting, I think the buckle is wider than the regular.
A particular thing on these figures is this text: "TV Toys"!
They used generic cards and put a sticker of the character, right?
Yes, they used to do that!
Speaking of cards, show us this one from "The Revenge"...
This is a pre-production piece and it´s a black proof test...
As you know...
They had to change the name from "The Revenge of the Jedi" to "The Return of the Jedi".
So this is a color and design test for the card...
It doesn't have the character, they used this card only to see the position of the logos and the graphic elements.
I love it! The contrast between the black and white is very cool.
This is a slide from "The Revenge of the Jedi", used to make proofs...
Ok! They used parts of the movie to print cards or ads for the figures...
Yes! I think that this one was used for advertisements...
Which one is your favorite?
From the carded vintage section!
Uff... That is a tough question! Because I think that is the next one that you want to find.
Which one was the toughest to acquire?
The Toltoys figure and the Poch from "The Empire Strikes Back" figure!
How long have you been collecting toys?
I started collecting since 1998!
Wow! This 4-pack is incredible.
Yes, that is an Italian version...
Amazing!
These were the last figures sold, they made packages to sell as much as they could before the boom ended.
They did 1 generic pack and put 4 regular cards inside it!
Are they Harbert (Italian toymaker) or Kenner?
They are Kenner!
I think they imported them to Italy and made that extra packaging to sell them faster.
Let´s see de back and we will find the 4 packs inside...
Great the 2-pack figures!
Are there a lot of combinations of them?
Yes! One of the most interesting is the one with Luke and Vader in the same pack!
Or Vader with Obi-Wan!!!
For me anyone that has a Vader is great!
What about this jewel over here?
Yeah! Speaking of the most different ones is this Takara version...
Is 7 inches tall and is a unique piece released only in Japan!
The bow to tie the cloak is hilarious... LOL
It´s very rustic! LOL
It seems that Vader's mother did it before he left the house! LOL
Let´s see this Meccano made in France...
This is a square card and is very different from the other variations...
Vader is the most difficult piece to get from the Meccano SW toy line.
I have a video in "Lulu Berlú" (Toy store in Paris, France) where they had a C3PO...
I couldn´t buy it but It was beautiful!
They were asking for 6 to 8 thousand euros!
Do you have the first Darth Vader ever made?
Yes! It´s this one...
This is the first Vader, it's a 12-back type "A"!
What is the next figure you are looking for the collection?
I always have 2 o 3 in mind each year...
For example... The proof card of Vader from "The Revenge of the Jedi" is one of those...
I have missed the opportunity to buy it because I preferred other pieces but I hope I can get it soon.
Please show us more of your awesome things...
Before we go to that showcase where I can see some super rare figures.
Here we have some modern figures, I know you don´t love them but is the contrast from the other showcase.
Yes... There are "Power of the Force", "30th Anniversary" figures...
There are some "Balck Series" figures... Your favorites... LOL!"
We should use those to turn on the fire for the barbecue! LOL
The inconvenience while having a focus is that not always appear figures that you are looking for...
You are looking for very specific pieces that are very hard to find even if you have the money toy buy them.
When I cannot find those figures I spend some time buying modern figures only what I like...
But I don´t buy all of them...
I can imagine you saying: "Oh, I haven't found anything special for the last 2 months...
Let´s go to the Walmart and buy some Black Series" LOL
Here I have some sculptures...
Such as Kotobukiya, Gentle Giant and some art toys...
The Darth Vader in meditation is cool!
Yes, it is from Thailand...
At the top of the showcase is the Mexican spot!
Wow, the "Alebrije" (Mexican folk art sculptures)!
Yes!!!
Is that the gift from your wife?
Yes!
And those are the art toys! The one with XX on the eyes was made by Kaws Toys (American Artist)...
As a Darth Vader fan, which is your favorite design? The Vader we know or the concept designed by McQuarrie?
I love McQuarrie´s concept!
Uff... Tell us about this showcase! I can see there are also vintage figures.
Let´s start with this jewel!
And I give you the credit for that one my friend! Because you told me that someone was selling it...
You're welcome! I saw it on an American Facebook page...
Wow!!! It has the original card and packaging!
Yes! That is why I decided to keep it with the bag and everything...
Beautiful!
And that 12-inches Darth Vader is from France!
Yes... Is Meccano!
I love the way you display your figures, everything is in acrylic cases...
It´s very important for me! If I don´t have a place to display the object sometimes I pass on buying it.
This is a German header that came in a rack for displaying figures...
The eyes used to turn on!
Is it a store display?
That´s right!
Great! This is the entire display...
Incredible!
This one is the famous Darth Vader from Peru made by Basa!
As you can see it´s similar to the Kenner version, but...
Oh! It´s shorter...
And it´s wider than the regular... It also has 2 "XX" on the belt.
Is that the original lightsaber from Basa?
Of course!
It´s awesome to see it complete and in great conditions...
This is the original vintage helmet!
It was made by Don Post! They used to make masks...
And you can close it like this!!!
The interesting thing about it is the box!
Today I´ve seen things that I never knew they existed!
Collecting toys is like a box of surprises, you will never know what are you going to find!
Those mugs were one of the first SW collectibles that were made...
They are incredible! I had only seen them in pictures.
It´s marked "1977 Century Fox".
Is the Chewbacca from the same collection?
Sure, they were sold in the same collection...
But look at the expression from Obi-Wan... It´s very detailed.
It's really well-done with the patina and everything.
Over there we can see the Early-Birth Certificate Package they started this universe with it...
It was a very cool marketing strategy that they used to finance the first production of these figures...
It was a pre-sale because they didn't have the money to start the production.
So kids went to the store and buy a piece of cardboard instead of the figures!
Yes, just a cardboard!
This sticker album is very nostalgic for us because is the one released in Mexico...
Some people say that the stickers came in small envelopes, but that is not true!
They came in posters that were sold weekly on the Newspaper stand and you had to cut them...
Do you have any Darth Vader figures from your childhood?
Only one loose figure!!! Nothing else...
I think that was my motivation to start collecting.
Only the bootleg figures can have this kind of aberrations! LOL
But they are beautiful! This mask in red plastic and silver paint is awesome...
It has the original packaging!
Ready for the hardcore stuff?
Please tell us about this showcase!
The centerpiece of this showcase is this 12-inches Darth Vader made by Lili Ledy!
I call him the "Leather Bar Vader" LOL!
Let´s see the differences between the American and the LL versions...
The US version is all made of hard plastic...
But the Mexican was based on the body of "Ricardo Ledy" (it was a similar toy of Ken from Barbie).
And the clothes were made of a leather and velvet fabric...
That´s why it is very bizarre...
Is that the original sticker?
Yes! Everything is orginal!
Wow! There are only 2 or 3 known with the original sticker.
Yeah! The Yupi premium figures from Colombia...
Yes!
And those that are smaller than the Yupi?
Those are Keshi from Japan!
Uff... Those Bop Bag are really cool!
There are 2 versions of Bop Bag, the Kenner, and the Clipper, this last one is from the Netherlands...
What about that egg!? LOL
That´s vintage!
Really?
I think it´s rare, it has some markings but I don´t know anything about it...
Mylon Creations 1977!
Yes...
I´ve seen some of them that have a little flag on the hand with a message like: "I love you"!
Like the celebration figures sold on those gift shops!
This is from "Creaciones Juanin" (Mexican toymaker)...
It has the pencil sharpener! This a unique Mexican sculpture.
This is the vintage bootleg area!
I have from many countries...
Let´s start with the Mexicans...
Oliver didn´t have a mistake putting the Sword of Omens of the Thundercats on it...
Because this Vader came like this!
There is only known 2 characters, Vader and Luke, and both of them have the same sword.
The cloak is literally a plastic bag for trash! LOL
And the sculpture is unique but very similar to the 3 3/4 original figure.
Then we have the hybrid figure of Darth Vader and a character from "The Planet of the Apes".
And this one is incredible!!!
All of them are very rare and unique!
They are very bizarre!
It has the original lightsaber...
It also has a unique sculpture... Look at the helmet!
This one is one of my favorites! I don´t know why but I love it.
Please tell me about this figure because I know it´s a Holy Grail, right?
This is the first SW made in the world it was released even before the 12-backs and it´s a bootleg!
It´s a German figure and it´s a combination of a Samurai and a warrior...
It´s made from rubber...
And they come with that thing on the head to use them with a necklace...
The material is similar to the one used on the Jigglers Monsters...
Look at the scale!
There are Strom Troopers and C3PO figures from that line.
Great!!!
How much would you think this piece costs?
Recently a Strom Trooper was sold for $1000 USD...
Wow!
Grab that figure because it is very worthy to see it up close.
The material seems to be bakelite!
For me, it is more like clay or terracotta, like the material with which the antique soldiers were made.
It´s from Hungary! There is only one known with the original red cloak and lightsaber.
The best for the last! Please show us that Model Trem of Darth Vader!
Model Trem was a Brazilian company that made bootlegs of metal.
Yes, metal and lead...
Wow! It´s the first time I can hold a Model Trem! It´s very heavy...
The lightsaber is from lead and the outer material is plastic, it seems like a straw...
It has screws and the cloak is rigid.
The funny thing about it is that they had put a lot of effort in the figure but the box is like a box of drugs...
It´s almost impossible to find them with the box!
This is the original box... Wow!
Did you know that they made more toy lines? I've seen some MOTU figures like this...
And it´s very common to find them in bad conditions...
Oh! They put the name and the number of the figure at the bottom...
This one was one of the first bootlegs I´ve bought!
At the bottom of the showcase, I have modern bootleg figures...
I can see some of the bootlegs that people are trying to sell as vintage...
Yes, they do that... I only buy them because of my focus on that character but knowing that they are new...
They are cool customs, but people try to sell them as the real deal...
So be very careful because they are new if you find them at a good price buy them as custom-made figures...
A good price to pay is from $2.5 to $5 USD!
Note the original piece and the custom-made figure...
The Darth Vader/Wrestler is one of the most replicated... Like this one...
It´s similar to the vintage but it´s just a replica...
These Vaders are Lili Ledy variations and...
The most significant difference between them are the lightsabers...
The price for the best Darth Vader collector is for...
We were skipping one of the most important premium collectibles of all SW items!
Oliver, this is amazing!
I think there are only a few of them complete with the collector cardboard!
That´s true... And it has a unique design.
After years of looking for it, a good colleague sold it to me...
Before that, I had some of the bottle caps and I was decided to complete the set. Fortunately, I find this one!
It was a promotion of Coca-Cola from the late 70´s! And this one is in perfect conditions...
If someone has one for sale please let me know! I have been looking for it...
I know how hard is to get something like that!
Congrats man!
Remembering some of your videos...
I always think about how important is that your wife and camera girl supports you.
Because this hobby is part of your daily routine and it´s good to have someone beside you that understand it.
I´m telling you that because one of the last acquisitions is this stained glass.
It´s a gift from my wife and I loved it!
So she is not only supporting you, she contributes to the collection and gives you some items!
We all know that is very frustrating when your family and friends don´t understand your hobby...
So... Be careful who you marry.
Oli, I want to thank you very much, we have been here for hours!
I know this is a private space and few people have the honor to be here...
Thanks for letting us record this and bring all the "hunters" to your place.
I can tell that this is the most important Vader collection in Mexico...
Thanks dude!
You´re welcome! We spent a great time and you will be welcome whenever you want...
You are watching the Madhunter Channel!
