How Game of Thrones' Visual Effects Draw Us In - Duration: 13:16.

There's nothing on television that showcases the incredible power of visual effects

quite like Game of Thrones.

The goal of VFX in any context is to aim for realism.

[The best compliment that we can receive

in visual effects is to be invisible].

And invisibility is all the more important in Game of Thrones

because the show prides itself on feeling more grounded in reality,

more quasi-historical than your average epic fantasy story.

One of the show's superpowers is the way it blends fantasy and realism

so artfully that we kind of feel this all

could be real history.

So let's look at how Game of Thrones uses visual effects

to build a lifelike world we can believe in.

[They can live in my new world or they can die in their old one]

Before we go on, we want to tell you a little bit

about this video's sponsor, Frame.io.

Frame.io is an amazing collaboration tool for video creators

that makes it easy to give and receive feedback on cuts of your videos.

In fact, pretty much every ScreenPrism video gets made in Frame.

There's a great deal on right now if you sign up for Frame.io using our link

in the description below.

You get 3 months of their pro plan for free.

When the show began, it had the challenge of

bringing to life a world that was naturally going to be far more believable

in a reader's imagination

[Of course everyone who's a fan of the book has in their mind's eye

what Dragonstone looks like and what Pyke looks like

and what Harrenhal looks like.]

And when you think of a TV show about dragons, you probably expect it to look cheesy and

silly.

But because the VFX is so detailed and thoughtfully created,

the dragons in Game of Thrones flow believably out of the story

without making us question what we're seeing.

It can even be jarring to watch behind-the-scenes shots

of Emilia Clarke filming those dragon scenes

[It's one thing to act in a room with somebody and to draw on your considerable resources

as an actor.

It's another thing to have a situation that's supposed to incorporate

the same level of emotion but you're in the most artificial environment

you can possibly imagine.

It's the opposite of walking in costume through Iceland].

The secret to the show's believability is that it combines those over-the-top parts

with realistic elements.

[The visual effects industry has become very computer reliant

and technological.

But one of the things we like to rely on is shooting organic elements].

So that means doing things like showing real horses

but drastically changing their appearances.

[The white walker is sitting on a horse.

We had a perfectly alive, healthy horse and we put some tracking markers on the horse

so that we can add CG wounds to the horse.]

The dragons' anatomy is largely based on real flying animals,

like eagles and bats.

[We don't make up hardly anything, you know.

We always draw from the real world.

We do a lot of reference by looking at how birds of prey behave

and how certain lizards and reptiles behave.]

Sven Martin at VFX studio Pixomondo has said that the reference point changes

as the dragons grow up.

In season two the dragon babies partly took after chickens and does.

Then as they grew, the VFX team was basing them more

on dogs and wolves.

And by season seven, the reference point wasn't even an animal anymore,

but a massive Boeing 747.

Martin also said he had his animators experiment with frozen chicken wings

to get a feel for how the dragons' wings should move

and how the muscles work.

And even if the dragons aren't real, often the fire they're breathing is.

[Whenever the dragons need to breathe fire we have a flamethrower mounted on

a robotically controlled camera that blasts fire.

And how the air behaves, and the smoke that moves through the air,

all of that goes a long way to helping to sell the other parts of the

frame

that may not be captured by real photography.]

Using real-world elements as a springboard for VFX

is key for other creatures, too.

Like the shadow creature Melisandre gives birth to in season two.

[For the way it should move or the material it was made of,

we would use ink in water as a reference.

The way that ink spreads in water.]

We all know what ink looks like in water.

So even if we're not consciously thinking of that

when we watch this scene,

the visual is playing on something familiar to us.

The direwolves on the show are real wolves,

but the actors aren't actually acting alongside them.

The wight skeletons in season four were played by real stunt men.

So the VFX kept that lifelike movement But added a skeletal form.

The VFX team doesn't have to do too much with the white walkers.

But they do give them those ice blue eyes to make us think, of course, of winter.

So whenever effects create a creature we've never seen before,

they're subtly calling on associations with things we know and recognize.

And that familiar reference point makes us believe.

Much of Game of Thrones is shot on location

[If it was all VFX we would be in Studio City right now.

We're on the Mediterranean coast of Spain.

Because we need this, we need it in our skin,

we need the sun and ancient castles that the Moors built.

This is Spanish dirt underneath my fingernails.

You can't get that in the studio.]

So VFX often isn't creating places from scratch, but transforming them from impressive

into truly out-of-this-world.

If the team is working with a smaller location or a smaller set,

CG set extensions allow them to build something epic in scale

from that starting point.

[We'll call them set extensions, and the term really applies to

whether we're extending a practical built set,

or a location --

a building or a city or some part of a city,

if we're extending it into a much larger city,

or a landscape].

Loads of locations on Game of Thrones have been expanded and embellished like this

The courtyard of Winterfell is a larger version of Castle Ward

in northern Ireland.

The visuals of Pyke started from Northern Irish rock formations.

In The Watchers on the Wall, the green screen wall

was up against a forest near Belfast.

And the Fist of the First Men builds on a real setting in Iceland.

So all these examples came out of practically built sets

or existing locations with beautiful starting textures.

And the VFX team expanded and grew what was already in front of the camera.

The same holds for adding people to a scene.

VFX is used to duplicate real extras, creating huge crowds

while still maintaining the feeling that there are actual people in the scene,

because there are.

We see this in the Battle of Winterfell.

The Battle of the Bastards.

Or in the scene where the wights fall through the ice

in Beyond the Wall.

Then again, sometimes VFX is creating something

that's not there.

And they pull that off through attention to detail.

In Season 7, winter had finally come.

[Winter is here.]

But episodes were shot in many locations that weren't in the middle of winter.

So the VFX team had to do matte paintings over naturally green landscapes.

Crucially, Game of Thrones uses visual effects

more sparingly than you might think.

Most often the really awe-inspiring VFX is saved for pivotal moments,

at the end of episodes, or towards the ends of seasons.

The build-up before those moments Lets the VFX in these memorable episodes

Really pay off.

[Where the Wall meets the sea There's a castle there.]

In The Watchers on the Wall, the VFX team built the whole episode

around a green screen.

Which at the time was the biggest green screen in Europe.

[We didn't have a space that was nearly big enough

or nearly enough people to execute this episode long sequence.

We needed a green screen that was bigger than anything

that had ever been built.

30 feet high and 400 feet long.]

This was the second to last episode in season four,

so the season built up to the huge display of VFX.

And as we've seen, the penultimate episode of a season

does tend to give us a climax in both the narrative and VFX.

An episode like Watchers on the Wall feels especially believable

because the show generally avoids overusing CGI.

So we don't get in the habit of questioning what's before our eyes.

The next season in The Dance of Dragons, Drogon arrives in the fighting pit

and breathes fire on the Sons of the Harpy.

This was the moment that showcased the dragon's strength

in a way we hadn't seen before.

It was also the first time we saw Dany ride a dragon

an event that could have very easily felt off

if not done right.

So the wait for this moment, plus the over-the-top power

when the dragons' strength is finally expressed, led to an intense dramatic pay-off.

In the climactic penultimate episode of season 6,

Battle of the Bastards,

The VFX became crucial to convey the frenzy and horror of battle

[There's a shot in the Battle of the Bastards that we affectionately call the oner,

where Jon Snow is left in the middle of this battle looking like

a guy who just got dropped in the middle of the highway dodging cars.

When they actually hit each other and go flying

and impale horses, which obviously you can't do,

and so we relied on CG up close and personal in a way that I beforehand

didn't think we could pull off.]

In modern times we find it hard to envision the gritty, hands-on,

face-to-face battles of history.

So the horrifying, in-your-face visuals communicate just how intimate and personal

fighting used to be, and is in the Game of Thrones world.

In season seven episode four, The Spoils of War,

again a lot of set-up before the battle

which happens later in the episode,

[Yes, I'm sure Queen Cersei's reign will be quiet and peaceful.]

[Stranger things have happened.]

[Like what?]

gives us a phenomenal emotional effect.

It's the first time we see Drogon actually take down a well-trained army in

battle.

So we get to understand what the dragons can do

as weapons of war.

And this spectacle is combined with interpersonal drama.

We're strongly pulling for characters on both sides.

So the mass destruction of the dragons is all the more persuasive

because the narrative reminds us these aren't faceless casualties.

Real people we like could die.

In the second to last episode of season seven, Beyond the Wall,

perhaps the biggest loss of the season comes when Viserion dies and becomes a wight dragon.

Visual effects producer Steve Kullback has said that the scene was a rare moment

where the whole emotional content of the scene concentrated on VFX.

It's a shocking moment because the dragons have seemed almost infallible

up to this point,

and the mother-child relationship between Dany and her dragons

has made us invest in these creatures.

In that frightening shot when Viserion opens his eye,

the VFX tells the story with narrative efficiency.

That image of the piercing blue eye tells us how much worse the situation

has suddenly become.

Game of Thrones' visual effects have gotten much bigger and more sophisticated

since the show started.

[To give an idea, in season six, which was our biggest season up to that point,

we had 11 shots that featured Emilia riding the dragon.

In the Loot Train we have over 80.]

But even as the effects get more and more daring and elaborate,

their power comes from adhering to the same guidelines,

playing on what we know,

waiting for key moments to maximize the intensity of important scenes,

and featuring an impressive amount of detail that makes everything feel so convincing

you can almost touch it.

Hi guys, this is Susannah.

#50. Hanoi to Ha Giang with Kids - Bus or Scooter?? | VIETNAM - Duration: 16:55.

Early morning, we're getting ready to go to Ha Giang. Where we will either take a bus

to Dong Van or is it Van Dong.

we'll probably rent a scooter or two and go to the countryside driving on a

scooter.

at the hotel.

because no car can come here. They walk to come and pick us up

A scooter on its way

Hanoi which is the capital of Vietnam was our first base. We booked our hotel

which arranged our trips and also stored our luggage allowing us to travel a bit

lighter on several trips.

booked.

How these people can drive around without getting into accidents are just

mind-blowing.

just drives and wiggles their way through the traffic.

some time in Vietnam that we came to realize that this was a very well

organized chaos.

to others and the blowing of the horns were not out of aggression but mainly to

make the others aware of their presence

We were quite relieved to get out of this hustling and bustling city to a less

chaotic town in the north.

Boy oh boy, this was a ride out of a horror movie

Oncoming traffic in the same lane.

traveling with a family we would recommend that you book the back seats

They are very comfortable and you can lie right next to one another

That's a headstand, that's not a handstand

We're here in Ha Giang

It's quite vibrant

Whilst you were gone, there were three different groups of people that came to

speak to me individually.

her mom and her sister and they asked me what's my name

and where we're from

said thank you and she left.

about five teenager boys

"How long have you been here? Where to next? Thank you, goodbye"

And then a couple came over and they asked exactly the same questions

There's obviously some people learning English at the moment and they've been given a

task to speak to foreigners.

want to learn English language.

When going down, keep the hands straight.

Hello

And we are having fun in Vietnam.

On this tricycle.

We left Hanoi and we are in Ha Giang or pronounced Ha Ziang at the

moment

Now we have one little problem

... you have three options.

a motorbike

You basically get into this very cramped bus

and it's seven hours of hell

the same experience that you'll get when driving with the scooter.

family of four.

trail with one scooter and luggage.

ridden scooter. I've always been the pillion

so our adventure starts today

lessons

I thought its Melanie but it's not her

is the average Vietnamese scooter with lots of stuff on it.

It's she! Look!! She's driving and she looks beautiful on a scooter.

I didn't recognize you. Go all the way to the end

Wheelie it!

Or here, there's a nice

turning point.

She's teaching herself lesson 101

Megan and Kayla, out of

the way.

When you do a turn like that

lean towards the inside

You're leaning that way and it makes it worse

The inside of the turn

So if you turn left

even slow, lean a bit more to the left side

and just get the feel of the

scooter

Doing very well

I'm so impressed

And off she goes again.

If she

feels comfortable enough, if she feels comfortable enough

to drive the scooter up the mountain

we will

rent two scooters

which you'll get for about $10 a day per scooter

But

If she's not comfortable,

we're gonna have to get a rider and then that comes up to 700,000 Dong

a day for that one scooter

which is $50 a day for one scooter

so it

goes to $60 a day instead of $20 a day

so our three days that makes a

considerable difference

and we can rather use that money to go explore and

do more sightseeing

Or that's the plan but if she doesn't feel

comfortable that's fine we'll just get another scooter

If a little bit extra

you can get a car and everybody goes into the car but that's just...it sounds so boring

even the kids don't want to do that yes

you can't believe this lady has just started to learn to drive motor bikes

Now she's gaining some experience in the quiet suburb

We're gonna take it one

step at a time

One road at a time

It's still going

slow

but at least it's going.

We'll see how it turns out

Melanie's first long-distance trail

We're going through the mountains. We just

went through a hectic pass and bad traffic

And she's right behind us

Staying here in Huong Thao 2

It's right at the back of Ha Giang

If you come to the

Don Vang and that area

you most likely take a bus to this place

and this is

such a nice place to sleep over.

It's like a guesthouse

Nice big rooms it's

clean, its tidy.

You have your own bathroom

This one has a fridge in as

well

Even outside, it's very clean and very tidy and beautiful.

I must say the manager, she's lovely

super friendly, very helpful.

She speaks very good English.

Really, we recommend this. It's awesome

So they help you organize trips up the mountain to Don Vang and

those places.

Even accommodation, they will arrange for you from here and so

they make sure that all the bookings and stuff are done for your three-day trip

up the mountain.

Cheap very cheap.

Yeah it's very cheap

This is our top

recommendation.

We stayed in another hotel

but that was terrible

so we don't

want to even discuss that hotel

or name that hotel but it was close to the

bus station and we moved to here

Wait!

Thank you very much

And now at our favourite restaurant called Blue Sky.

They get quite busy at times

Yesterday it was packed

Today it looks a bit better

and they have a nice menu

No prices

on it but you don't need it because they're not very expensive

Alright so this is the

one the one meal we've ordered

It has pop sticks that's the meat and

then a lot of veggies and some leafs

So first you cut the pork sticks in four

pieces

And this is quite a lovely sauce coming with this dish

and these are rice

leaflets

I don't know what you call it

That's rice paper

Paper rice

You put it like that

The correct way actually is

using chopsticks

Aren't they missing something?

The coleslaw

Yeah all right so we're still waiting for that

and then you wrap it

wrap it and

eat it

and enjoy it

and it's actually quite lovely

it looks so simple and

plain but it's quite lovely

You're hands are always in the way

Sorry

Dip it, it gets wet and soft

and you eat it

Nice

Oh don't even ask me to

pronounce what the soup is but this is the local one here in Ha Giang

and it

looks divine.

I'm gonna get the kids quickly

So this is the end of the

restaurant and this is basically the living room and I'm gonna look for the

kids.

Toilet right at the back, the kitchen

It's quite steep up here

Ladies, ladies, ladies, are you playing nicely?

Food is ready, you must come and eat

Okay, but come down now

eventually

The food's ready

They're playing so nicely

Yes

What's this?

Camera

Camera

You know camera?

Yes

Camera, Youtube?

Yeah, Youtube

Clever girl!

Camera for YouTube

Clever girl

Yeah, Youtube

Luckily these two had cooking lessons on the boat so they know how to roll and

wrap the rice spring rolls

We just call it spring rolls

Oh just spring rolls

Sorry, not rice

just spring rolls

Daddy apologizes. Now you must dip it

But the dip is spicy daddy

It's not that spicy

Kayla is preparing some

another spring roll

another spring roll for us. She's putting in

carrot

meat

cucumber

some other

veggie or fruit

We're not sure what it is

This sauce is divine by the way

Can you put some of that in, it's a

cold slaw type of thing

Our daughters are really learning so much through our travels.

They learn how

other cultures live,

what they eat and they are also making so many friends.

We

were welcomed with open arms in the little town of Ha Giang

This town was

only supposed to be our base but we extended our stay here due to all the

new friends we made

We'll see you tomorrow

In the next video we will see if I had enough courage to take on the daunting

mountain passes on my own scooter or did I travel with a nauseating bus missing

the most scenic routes

So stay tuned for our next episode and please remember

Game of Thrones Season 8 - IS THE NAME OF THE DIREWOLF A SIGN OF HIS/HER STARK'S FATE? - Duration: 10:28.

In this video, I will discuss the names of all the direwolves, how their names might

be connected to their stark's fates and what it would mean for Bran, Sansa, Jon and

Arya in season 8.

So stay tuned for that...

Hello Everyone.

Welcome to UBM.

Your one stop for book and TV series reviews.

I am back with another crazy theory of mine.

Last year, I discussed why and how the Direwolf mother managed to cross the wall.

You can also checkout my other crazy theories like "Why Stark Blood is especial", "Who

put the curse on Harrenhal and why", "Why there are no female Whitewalkers" etc. in

my "Game of Thrones Theories Playlist."

You can check out the link on the top right corner of this video.

Since Westworld is airing these days, I have decided to focus on that for the next few

weeks.

Once Westworld is finished, I'll get back to posting more GOT videos.

Don't worry, I'll try to post GOT videos whenever I can during this time.

I'll just focus more on westworld for some time.

This video is sponsored by Alina and Aaron.

Thank you so much for your contributions.

Do you believe in names?

Do you think they have a meaning or they can affect your life somehow?

Or at the very least in this case, have you ever wondered if the names of the Direwolves

are a sign of their respective Stark's fates?

Even the Direwolf mother's death foretold the future of the Stark parents.

The direwolf died because of a Stag, just like Ned Stark died because Robert took Ned

with him to King's Landing.

I got this idea from LL's comment, who said, "I've always worried about the symbolism

of Lady dying, especially as Sansa's lie contributed to it.

I now think it means, she will be limited to being a lady."

In the beginning of this series, Robb and Jon had found a dead direwolf and 6 pups.

The pups were given to the Stark Children.

The Stark children chose the names of their direwolves.

Bran was the last to pick a name.

I'll read you some lines from Bran's chapter in the books.

He was still trying to decide on a name.

Robb was calling his Grey Wind, because he ran so fast.

Sansa had named hers Lady, and Arya named hers after some old witch queen in the songs,

and little Rickon called his Shaggydog, which Bran thought was a pretty stupid name for

a direwolf.

Jon's wolf, the white one, was Ghost.

Bran wished he had thought of that first, even though his wolf wasn't white.

He had tried a hundred names in the last fortnight, but none of them sounded right.

Bran touched his forehead, between his eyes.

The place where the crow had pecked him was still burning, but there was nothing there,

no blood, no wound.

He felt weak and dizzy.

He tried to get out of bed, but nothing happened.

And then there was movement beside the bed, and something landed lightly on his legs.

He felt nothing.

A pair of yellow eyes looked into his own, shining like the sun.

The window was open and it was cold in the room, but the warmth that came off the wolf

enfolded him like a hot bath.

His pup, Bran realized . . . or was it?

He was so big now.

He reached out to pet him, his hand trembling like a leaf.

When his brother Robb burst into the room, breathless from his dash up the tower steps,

the direwolf was licking Bran's face.

Bran looked up calmly.

"His name is Summer," he said.

So, that's how summer was named.

Now let's take a look at the Names of the Direwolves and the hints they might provide

about their respective Stark's fates.

(i) Lady – Lady has Grey fur and Yellow eyes.

She was the first wolf to die in this series.

But Sansa has survived against all odds.

Even Jaime thinks in the books that by all rights, the girl should be dead.

I agree with LL's theory here.

I already predicted in my Sansa's Fate in the Finale video that Sansa will survive in

the end.

If Jon, Dany or their child lives to rule the seven kingdoms, or even if they decide

to destroy the Iron Throne in the end, Sansa will still remain a Lady.

Lady Stark of Winterfell.

(ii) Shaggy-dog-Rickon- He has Black fur and bright green eyes.

In the books, Rickon is in Skagos according to some rumors.

In "A Feast For Crows, Samwell Tarly records(recalls) having read that the Skagosi ride great shaggy

unicorns to war.

In "A Dance With Dragons," in a vision of Ghost, Jon sees a black direwolf fighting

a goat with one long horn.

There are ancient tales of Hairy Men in Essos riding unicorns to battle, and Skagosi lords

are also said to ride unicorns.

So maybe, in the books, Rickon will meet these shaggy wildlings aka hairy skagosi and will

bring them back to help westeros end the long night?

But that was in the books where Rickon was still alive.

In the show, Rickon was killed by Ramsay.

Ramsay owned a Lot of Dogs and was eventually killed by his own black dog.

(iii) Grey Wind-Robb – He has smoke grey fur and yellow eyes.

Robb named him Grey wind because he was so fast.

Robb and his direwolf were killed by Walder Frey's betrayal.

House Frey's sigil is two blue towers united by a bridge on a silver grey field.

Although another reason Robb had died was because he stopped trusting his wolf.

Cat even warned him saying "Any man Grey Wind mislikes is a man I do not want close

to you.

These wolves are more than wolves, Robb.

You must know that.

I think perhaps the gods sent them to us.

Your father's gods, the old gods of the north."

And Yet, Robb ignored her warnings, thinking he shouldn't have taken Grey wind with him

into battles.

(iv) Summer – He has silvery grey fur and yellow eyes.

Before I predict Bran's future, I'll read a couple lines from the books about Summer.

"Meera: Did you know they would be so big?

Jojen: They will be bigger still before they are grown.

The black one is full of fear and rage, but the grey is strong ... stronger than he knows

... can you feel him, sister?"

As you can see, it also points towards Bran in way.

Bran turned out to be way stronger than he ever thought possible.

He is the Three Eyed Raven now.

He is still learning and growing stronger.

As for the name Summer, I think it predicts that Bran will be a key part in ending "Winter"

aka "the Long Night," or "the Night that never ends" and will help bring summer

back.

After all, he had named Summer AFTER the three Eyed Raven had made him wake up from his coma.

(v) Nymeria – She has Grey fur and dark golden eyes.

When the Valyrian Freehold conquered the Rhoyne with their dragons, Nymeria's namesake aka

the Rhoynish Princess Nymeria had led the surviving the Rhoynar into exile from Essos.

She brought ten thousand ships across the Narrow Sea to the shores of Dorne.

She struck an alliance with House Martell and married Lord Mors Martell.

Together they conquered the rest of the Dorne.

Nymeria had fought and saved her people.

It's true that Arya had named her direwolf after this queen.

But just like Nymeria, I can also see Arya fighting for her people and leading them to

safety if things got bad during the great war.

(vi) Ghost- He has white fur and Red eyes.

Jon's direwolf's name is ghost.

In a way, Jon had died and came back from death, kind of like a ghost who doesn't

move on after death.

Maybe Jon will die again in the great war or maybe it's a sign of Jon dying and coming

back as a fire wight once more?

What do you think?

BTW, did you notice that ALL the Direwolves except Ghost and Shaggy Dog, have different

shades of Grey fur and yellow eyes?

Nymeria has golden eyes, which is more of the same.

What do you think it means?

Lemme know in the comments.

Anyways, it's time for the comment shoutout now.

Todays comment shoutout goes to Sean Killackey, who said, "When I saw the new and improved

scorpion, I thought Dany, you should have told Cersei to surrender at the first meeting

rather than ask for a truce."

I completely agree.

Jon might not have liked it, but if Dany had cornered Cersei at the Dragonpit and forced

her to bend the knee, it might have helped them focus ALL of their strength on the WWs.

Even Jon had once sacrificed his honor to save the seven kingdoms.

Or maybe this new scorpion will help kill Viserion.

So, what do you think of these theories, don't forget to tell us in the comments.

Pacific Sailfin Tang - 3:21 - Nature Meets Paper - Duration: 7:41.

the fins of the Pacific sailfin tang can unfold to reveal beautiful patterns

what's going on everybody my name is Brandon I'm a marine biologist and an

artist and welcome to nature meets paper the place where we go on an adventure to

discover the world of marine biology I love sharing my passion of the oceans

and its creatures with you through art I would also like to say thank you for

being patient with me through this time I had the opportunity to paint a

painting for a family friend I did that it took three weeks delivered it to her

and she loved it then something unexpected happened and unfortunately it

means that I had to look into this business a little more and I have to

change a few things that are going on in my life I'm gonna try and do my best to

keep this channel up and running but I also need your help to with growing this

business I need I will need help in the future financially I'll need help with

basically how I run this channel and how I run for you guys if you have any help

or any tips for me just write them down in below I also made a patreon I don't

know I don't quite know what's gonna be on it quite yet I'm thinking about doing

like real time videos where I'm talking to you you about art we could go on like

field trips or whatever to the aquarium we could do videos like that I'm not

really sure right now but any help would be like appreciated patreon is a place a

third-party site where you pay basically you pay a subscription for every single

month I didn't regulate how much it could be

so it could be anywhere from like one dollar a month to like 15 I have a gift

for people who pay $15 a month it'll be a greeting card but right now I'm still

trying to hash everything out I just want to thank you for being patient and

for understanding and like helping me well along this journey I really

appreciate your support all right let's get let's get into it today we're going

to be discovering the Pacific sailfin tang are you ready let's dive in

the Pacific sailfin Tang or surgeonfish lives in the indo-pacific like most fish

in the indo-pacific they are found in the Indian Ocean Australia along the

coast of western Pacific Ocean and into Hawaii it prefers warm waters like

lagoons sheltered reefs and rocky shores there are a solitary animal that tends

to be territorial with their own kind on occasion and small groups can be found

in the wild but there needs to be lots of space they are docile to other

fish but don't seem to like each other that much the sailfin tang is found in

waters from five to thirty meters deep or sixteen to 96 feet the Pacific

sailfin tang also known as the sailfin surgeon fish grows to fifteen inches

it is part of the surgeon fishes they have sharp spines on the side of their

tail kind of like a blade the spine on this fish can retract into grooves along

the tail they are typically docile but you need to be aware of the threat if

you are handling your typical person will not be in contact with this

fish but some aquariums use them in their tanks

all right let's get into how to identify the Pacific sailfin tang the

fish has large dorsal and anal fins when extended fully the height of the fish

equals the length since this is a reef fish what type of body you is best for

maneuverability

if you guessed disc shape you would be correct if you didn't get that it is all

right it is always fun to learn something new

this fish is covered in stripes as juveniles the coloration is bright

yellow and black the stripes are all a consistent shade of brown or black as

they become adults the yellow fades to a cream or white

color also the dark bands fade the darkest black stays around the eyes and

the one just behind it then the stripes fade towards the table this is a slight

fade but it is still present the tail is typically bright yellow and stays that

way forever the fish that we see in this video has its dorsal and anal fins down

it doesn't have the same effect as seeing the fins fully extended but it is

still an awesome fish it's time to discover the diet and threats to the

sailfin tang what do they eat are they ferocious predators of the sea

are they herbivores do they eat garbage well they aren't huge predators and they

don't eat garbage that leaves herbivores yeah

they eat plant matter and algae from the rocks and the reef occasionally they

will eat invertebrates just to keep a well-balanced diet but you don't need to

worry about it eating you while you are swimming so that's nice so how are the

Pacific sailfin Tang doing what threatens them the IUCN Red List has

them listed as Least Concern although the populations are thinly spread it is

doing fine there are no major threats to this fish an estimated 4,000 fish are

taken to be used in aquariums worldwide each year since this fish is used in the

aquarium trade I bet you can guess where I saw this fish yep

the Maui Ocean Center it was their large reef tank

it was swimming as many fish do I was taking pictures of all the different

fish in the tank this one swam in front of the lens then

I took its picture I didn't know what kind of fish it was or anything

basically when I took the picture the fun part is watching fish and then try

to figure out what they are later I typically treat every fish as a

special fish this encounter wasn't too exciting

there wasn't a big display it wasn't it was just a fish swimming around in a

tank it would be cool to see this in the wild but this was in my encounter with

the Pacific sailfin tang and I can't complain I will call this adventure

finished

thanks so much for watching if you think that I deserve it click the subscribe

button and check that notification bell it tells you when I post my videos I

post every Saturday and Tuesday Saturdays videos focus on the science of

the animals Tuesday's videos poter of all about the art and how I do it links

to all my social media as well as teespring and now patreon can be found

below let's make this world a little bit better together

I've been Brandon and I will see you at our next adventure

I'm 30 & I Embalm Dead Bodies For A Living | Last Look | Refinery29 - Duration: 6:22.

Not all bodies, but a good amount of bodies, need tissue builder.

It is lovely to help with building out faces such as sunken in temples, eyes, even lips.

It's like a botox for the deceased.

My name is Miranda.

I'm a mortician here at Milward Funeral Directors in Lexington, Kentucky.

This is the entrance to Milward's.

Our casket showroom.

Walnut, hickory, maple,

I mean all kinds.

This room is our visitation room.

We call this our music room.

What I'm sitting on is an antique.

This is a casket bearer, it's made for casketed bodies.

This is our embalming room.

This is an absolutely sacred place and no one is allowed in here without authorization.

This is Miranda.

She is just at a hospital over at Baptist, so that would be a pretty simple removal.

I don't mind going by myself.

Right now I'm going to Baptist, to pick up a decedent who has just expired.

When I was in mortuary school I learned about death care, but now that I'm working in a

funeral home I have learned more about the process of grief.

I believe that my job has given me strength that I didn't know I was gonna have.

And when I first realized what death was I was scared.

I would lay in bed, think about death and it was like this black hole.

It was anxiety.

My feelings on death have affected my feelings on life.

I really do live every day like, maybe I'll die when I'm washing my hair and putting myself together.

I'm like, "Well if I was in a car wreck, it could just be cut off any time."

Everything is so small in life and you really realize the big picture when you're faced

with death how simple and sweet life can be.

I believe that women in the death industry are the change we need in funeral service.

For a long time it was a men driven business and having women in this field, it's lightening the load

for these grieving families.

Embalming makes me feel like an artist more than a scientist.

Yes, I know my anatomy.

Yes, I know what these chemicals are doing, but it has everything to do with art after that.

An average embalming from start to finish for me takes anywhere from an hour a half to two hours.

I look at the deceased and think, "Wow."

After everything they've done on earth it just must be amazing to be

having the answers that they've finally been given.

I might even talk to them sometimes.

They haven't talked back yet.

Cosmetics for the deceased really aren't like the ones we buy in stores.

The ones we buy in stores are gonna react to the warmth of your skin.

That's why we use special cosmetics.

For the ladies I like to use more of an opaque makeup.

After I do cosmetics on a body and dress the body, I look at that body in the casket and

think maybe this is how you look in the afterlife.

I hope that's what families take away from what I do as well.

That they can have that image of their loved one enjoying whatever's next.

I think green burial is lovely and cremation is also an option.

There's so many options for cremation, which I think is a good thing.

But I also, obviously think embalming is beneficial for the viewing process.

Viewing is number one priority.

This beautiful pink and white casket has been very popular with our little elderly ladies.

Even if it's just you coming in and spending a minute with your loved one,

I think it's so important to view the body.

When I die, I would like my makeup look to be like my everyday look.

My lipstick will be a bright red.

Preferably Ruby Woo from Mac.

The brighter the better.

I feel like I've gained a positive outlook on death more than a fear.

I'm not afraid of the dead body.

I'm not afraid of touching the dead body.

I'm not afraid of cleaning up.

I'm not afraid of just being a comfort to someone that most people would be afraid to comfort.

If someone dies and I'm there, I will absolutely and honestly take care of your loved one as

though you were taking care of them.

I will give them the love that you will give them.

I will make sure that whatever happens to them happens with respect and dignity.

I just hope that people can take away that death doesn't have to be a negative experience.

Why I prefer the Tesla Model 3 over the S - Duration: 8:14.

What's happening YouTube, Josh Teder here for 6 Months Later and this

weekend I don't have my Model 3 with me but instead I have a Model S 100D

and I thought I'd share my thoughts with you on coming from driving the Model 3

for about two weeks to driving a Model S for the weekend. Now the first

thing I noticed when I got inside the Model S was actually how complex it felt,

which just felt kind of odd. You get so used to having such a sparse and simple

interior with the 3 that when you get into something like even a Model S,

it just seems a bit overwhelming with all the screens, the buttons, the extra

stalks. I'm sure this would be way worse going from a Model 3 to something

like a BMW 3-series, considering that the Model S is still a pretty simple car

compared to a lot of other cars out there. Now I think it's pretty clear

where Tesla is going with its design language for future cars. Simplicity is

going to be king for all future Tesla cars based on what they have done with

the Model 3. Now after living with the Model 3 for a while, I also realized that

I really missed the long slit vent when driving the 3. The ability to shoot

air through the steering wheel at your face or just to the sides of your face is

actually a very underrated feature in my opinion for the Model 3.

I really missed that when driving the Model S. Now the Model 3's interior

overall I thought was actually a bit nicer than the Model S's. The Model S has

a weird cup holder placement issue, there's no door pockets, no coat hooks, no

vanity mirror lights. I thought the seats in the Model 3 were

also just slightly more comfortable than the S's and the 3's design just

seems more ergonomic overall than the Model S's. Now that's not to say the

Model S's interior is bad by any sense, because it's not. It is still really good.

I just prefer the Model 3's just slightly more than the Model S.

The Model 3 also has more headroom than the Model S. The Model S I had had the

panoramic sunroof, so not sure about headroom with the all glass roof. I would

imagine the all glass roof has a little bit better headroom. The Model S's rear

visibility is also worse than the Model 3's and the Model 3's front visibility

out the windshield is also better, probably due to the angle of the

windshield in the Model S and how it slants. Now while the Model S does have

two screens, I didn't really think it added all that much more to the driving

experience. I did like how the navigation directions do show up on the screen

behind the steering wheel, but other than that, I didn't really wish that the Model

3 had a secondary screen. It's probably because I've just become so used to

having just the one screen experience, I didn't really think that having that

additional screen added that much more to the overall driving experience. Now

the last thing about the Model S's interior I found a bit lacking was

actually the sound system. I had an S outfitted with the premium sound system

and I thought the Model 3's was actually a bit better. You can definitely hear

more detail in the music through the Model 3's and I also thought the bass was

overall better in the 3. If you're not an audiophile or someone who really likes

high quality speakers and sound, you probably wouldn't notice that much of a

difference between the two. But, if you are an audiophile or someone who likes

really nice high-end speakers you would definitely notice a difference. Now one

thing about the S that I do like better than the 3 is the door handles. I

think the 3's door handles are fine but they are harder for most people to

open then with the Model S's which just pop out and it's like a regular car door

handle. I also wish the Model 3 had bio

weapons defense mode because one, what a name, like who wouldn't want a bio

weapons defense mode in their car. The more important reason though is that the

bio weapons defense mode will actually clean the car's air inside the cabin and

it's just really great for getting rid of smells out of the car's interior like

if you're driving near a swamp or a paper mill. Now another thing that I wish

the Model 3 had that the Model S has is the power liftgate for the hatch at the

back of the car. I love how you can double press the key

fob and the hatch opens up. Double press it again and the hatch closes. I really

wish the Model 3 had this feature for its trunk. Now while cute, I don't think

that having a key fob in the shape of your car is really a necessity. I found

that just using my smartphone as a key worked really well for the Model 3 and I

always have my phone in my pocket anyway, so it makes it pretty effortless getting

in and out of the Model 3. Now the Model S drives very similar to the Model 3. It

is bigger and it's a heavier car so it doesn't feel as sporty as the 3 though

the Model S's acceleration feels more gut punchy, the 3's acceleration does

feel a little bit faster weirdly than the S's. I would assume it's because

you're sitting farther forward in the Model 3

and the Model 3 does feel a bit smaller and more nimble than the S, so that may

be why. I had several other passengers who have now ridden in both.

They also commented that they thought the Model 3 just felt just as fast as

the Model S 100D. Now the Model 3 also doesn't have the motor whine that the S

does when you're accelerating hard. This is probably due to the fact that the

cars don't share the same motor design. The model 3 does have a permanent magnet

motor in it, where the S does not. The S actually has a more expensive type

of electric motor. Now the S with dual motors has great handling and a low

center of gravity. The regen is also pretty similar to the Model 3, though I

felt that the 3's regen was a bit stronger than the Model S's which I know

some people have actually said the opposite, which I'm not quite sure why.

When letting my foot off the accelerator pedal in the S, it definitely did not

slow down as much as the Model 3 does, and that's probably due to the fact that

the Model S is a larger sized car and has substantially more weight than the

Model 3. Now another thing I really liked about the Model S was the air suspension.

I can't really tell if I prefer it over the coil suspension on the Model 3,

because I do actually like the sportier feel of that suspension, but at this

point I'd be happy with either choice. I do think it's really cool that the Model

S can lower itself when going faster to increase its

aerodynamic efficiency and it can also raise itself to not scrape the bottom of

the car on a steep driveway and then remember that location where it did that.

So in the future when you go to that same driveway, it'll automatically raise

itself again. Overall, I loved driving the Model S for the past few days. One thing

that I found surprising was the Model S I have costs almost double what my Model 3

does. Now I think it's pretty obvious that Tesla is not afraid to cannibalize

Model S sales with how they designed the Model 3. The Model S is truly a great car,

don't get me wrong. I think anybody would be happy with owning one, but I don't

think there's any doubt in my mind which one I'd go with especially when you

consider the cost of both cars and all of their options. Now maybe it'll be a

harder decision when the Model S gets a complete refresh, but right now

if I had to decide between the two I'd of course choose the Model 3. You're

getting about 90% of everything in the Model S at half the cost.

So those are my impressions of driving a Model 3 for two weeks and then driving a

Model S 100d for the weekend. Thanks so much for watching this video, if you like

this video, please make sure to give us a thumbs up and subscribe to the channel

if you'd like to see more Tesla videos like this one. Until next time, I'm Josh

Teder for 6 Months Later.

WaPo columnist and friend of Joy Reid: "I was hurt" at her comments - Duration: 6:22.

that what we have can be taken

away at a moment's notice.

>> I'm going to come to you on

this.

I'm still calling you a newly

wed.

It's not newly, newly but we

have seen this incredible

trajectory.

You go from the first defense of

marriage act is signed in 1996

where Clinton has to do it

because he made certain

promises.

I'm going to put in a prominent

member of my cabinet and do

these things on serving in the

military.

That doesn't workout.

He winds up signing defense of

marriage act.

You have civil unions legal in

Vermont in 2000.

Massachusegalized in 2003

and 2004 you have constitutional

amendments rolling out in 11

state which is helped Georgia W.

Bush.

We watched them sink the

democratic candidate and then

you go right to prop 8 along

side president Obama getting

elected and by 2009 you're

seeing more marriage and it

talked about whether or not

there's a feeling that that all

is rolling backwards.

Where are we?

>> Well on marriage it's not

rolling backwards because the

supreme court of the united

States said that same

marriage is legal and protected

by the constitution.

I think what we saw in that

diary of progress that you just

showed was that it wasn't just

that the laws changed, society

changed.

The beauty of what you did at

the open was put into context

where society was.

That chronology you just showed

shows where society was.

I wouldn't even be talking to my

own mother if she had not

evolved.

People thought one way.

They got information.

People came out.

People told their stories.

People made it personal.

People made it clear that their

neighbors and co-workers and the

shopkeeper and all of the people

they depend on in their lives,

some of them are lgbt.

Only a stone cold heart could

not change.

Joy when this happened, I was

hurt.

But not like anything that was

attributed to you.

I was hurt because the joy I

know and have known for probably

more than 10 years certainly

before all of this stuff, is not

the joy that I know.

That joy that I know is someone

that stands by me personally.

Stands by me and my husband.

Stands by me and my community.

I don't know a better place for

me to be right now than to sit

in the chair next to you.

When things like this happen we

always tend to focus on the

person who is baring the brunt

of the criticism and the brunt

of the controversy and the

reason why people tune into this

show and the reason why people

trust you is because you realize

that this is not about you.

This is about people who are

impacted by the words that are

being attributed to you and it

was incredibly important for us

to remember that people change.

Times change.

And there's a lot of people

sitting out there watching that

might be tuning in because it's

like the coliseum for them and

they want to seeeviserated.

For those that are waiting for

you to crumble and everyone to

reign down condemnation on you.

Good luck with that.

Change your hearts.

Evolve.

Just like the rest of the

country.

>> Also I think Jonathan to your

point, none of Russ heros and

none of us are perfect.

They think we have to hold the

reality that we can't be looking

for people that we love to be

our heros and be perfect.

We are all flawed in the trauma

of our mistakes and we need to

own that and the reality is that

evolution is what we should

strive for but we should also

not be trying to have perfect

because they don't exist.

>> And I think we have to

recognize this for what it is.

This is a part of a new

political and cultural landscape

in this country.

It's search and destroy and this

is a concerted effort by people

that do want to roll back our

progress to take down voices

that are powerful.

That are our allies and when you

look at what's happening in

Washington D.C., we talked about

this move for progress that we

experienced a decade or so, this

administration has attacked our

community more than 70 times

since Donald Trump took the oath

of office in ways that amount to

the transmilitary ban.

Taking us office the census and

much more sinister ways like

sending a clear message to

business owners that it's okay

to discriminate and we have to

recognize this for what it is

and recognize that as a

Progressive community we have to

remain with our arms locked

NBA Ref Explains Why The James Harden Step Back Isn't Traveling - Duration: 1:12.

- My name is Zach Zarba and I'm a 15-year NBA referee.

- [Narrator] Some players have a controversial

step-back jumper.

They drive hard, then step back to create space and shoot.

James Harden's is particularly controversial

because he takes several steps back instead of just one hop.

- One of the huge misconceptions in the NBA

is how much our players practice.

And these players practice these moves

over and over and over again.

And there's subtle differences in the traveling violation

in the NBA as opposed to high school and college.

So, I would ask people to just take a look at

when the ball is gathered.

Okay, if you look at when the ball is gathered, okay,

that pivot foot is not the first step.

That is the zero step.

So after that pivot foot, when they step back

into a one-two,

that, in the NBA, is a legal two-step.

MAPLE SUGARING CAKE!- INSPIRE HAPPENINGS - Duration: 5:28.

It's sugar making season

Hey guys, it's Missy welcome back today

we are making this sweet sugar making cake with my little nephew collecting his SAP buckets I

Began by frosting my cake a light gray color because this cake has little white sprinkle snowflakes

And we want those to stand out for a nice contrast

after I frosted both my tears I cut off the excess cake board around the smaller tier as we all know I have forgotten to

Do this in the past with a previous cake, but we don't need to talk about that that's in the past

And this is now today's a new day to stack my cakes. I inserted four straws whittled them around a little

Hold them back up and cut at the frosting line push the straws back in and cover each straw hole with frosting

These charms work great at supporting the weight of the second tier because we do not want our

Second tier to be collapsing in on the first tier. That's a disaster

I do not want to have I used bamboo sticks to push down the middle of both tiers

Cut them down to size frost it over the little hole and then begin working on the snow hills

I cut the top half into sort of a wave and cut the bottom straight

I

Took it over to my cake lined up the straight edge to the bottom of the cake and pressed it into place

I did this for both tiers going all the way around on all sides

I placed this in the fridge and began rolling out some white gum paste

Gum paste hardens a lot faster than fondant

So I knew I had to work really quickly and if you're working with it make sure that you are keeping it sealed

So that it doesn't harden while you're working on your other pieces

I made my smaller trees by cutting a straight edge on one side and then cut out smaller lines on the opposite side to make

the branches

Follow larger trees. I made the branches by starting at the top and cutting out the trunk last

I also made sure to cut a straight edge for the bottom so that my tree would fit flush with the bottom of the cake

Some extras just in case there was some breakage while assembling after I made all my trees

I placed them on a flat surface to harden overnight

If you guys haven't already

Subscribed to this channel go ahead and click that subscribe button down below as you will not want to miss the kicks that I make

Every Saturday and the smaller treats that I make on Tuesdays to make my nephew

I roll out some flesh-tone

Fondant and use the smaller edge of my tip number 12 and flattened it a little so that when I stack the layers of fondant

it doesn't become too heavy looking I

Popped out a large and small circle out of red fondant and cut a little off the edge of the smaller one for his hat

I applied that with water and applied a small ball to the top and then I carefully

stretched the larger circle for more of an along shape I

Applied the head to the top and then formed his body by cutting a straight edge to both sides and then cut a line in

the middle to make his legs I

rolled out a small piece for his arm and place a tiny piece of the flesh-tone fondant for his hand I

Cut three straight edges on my black fondant

and then cut a line in the center to make the legs now we have ski pants I

place the ski pants over the lower half of his body with water and trimmed off the bottoms to fit his legs I

Smooth the pants around each leg to cover all of the exposed red areas and he was done

moving on to the side pockets

I popped out a circle with my tip number 12 again

Cut down the sides at an angle and a straight edge along the top

I then flip that piece over and use it to make the lid of the sack bucket I

Wanted my cake to have depth as if my nephew is like further away

and you're kind of standing in a distance so in order to achieve this I need some tiny SAP buckets for the smaller trees and

larger size buckets for the larger trees

So in order to achieve that I cut out the same size two circles as the larger buckets, but this time

I narrowed in the sides and the top more until they were the size, I needed and that's all there is to it and

Now it is time to assemble the whole cake together which is my favorite part

I applied the smaller trees first along the edge of the snow hills on the top tier and along the bottom of the same tier

If I felt some of the trees were too long

I just trimmed them down to fit so I picked the best tree out of all the trees

I created is you want the best side in the front right?

well, that's where we're gonna put the best tree and the little guy I added a SAP bucket to that tree with water I

Placed him next to the tree

Extending his hand to touch the bucket I added all of the largest trees along the bottom edge of the bottom tier and then applied

All of my SAP buckets place in the larger buckets up front and the smaller on the smaller trees

Again, this is going to be creating that depth that we're looking for

Finally I scatter little white sprinkles around on both tiers and my sugar making cake is done

What a sweet way to celebrate my nephew's birthday. He's growing up so fast

Thank you guys so much for watching. I hope you enjoyed this tutorial

I will leave a playlist over here of some other cakes that I have made in the past

I love you guys, and I will see you next time when we make another inspired treat together. Bye bye guys

Talking Dragon Age: Beyond Thedas (Lore & Fan Theories) - Duration: 17:21.

Welcome back to Talking Dragon Age, the show where I talk about Dragon Age!

This episode is about Lands Beyond Thedas!

Very, very interesting topic here.

I should mention that a lot of this information is coming from the World of Thedas.

I think I'll start off with the least interesting area first, and then go from there.

So, in my opinion, the least interesting area is to the South.

The South is largely uncharted, but past the Kocari Wilds is a place called the Sunless Lands.

It's a frozen tundra, suppossedly inhospitable.

Past them are said to be mountains covered in ice.

The only ones who really have any idea what's there are the Chasind.

Though the place doesn't seem habitable, the Chasind say

that they do have exiles that still live there

They are called Agadi, and after being seperated for so long, have become quite different than

the Chasind they were exiled from.

The two groups are not in open war, I think they mostly keep to themselves, but they clearly

do not like each other.

At best, they're feuding cousins; though either group would take that as a monumental insult.

Next up is the East, beyond the Amaranthine Ocean.

I talked about this a little in previous episodes, and it turns out there IS something over there

that we know about.

The place is called Amaranth.

There are said to be no sentient species, which I would take to mean there IS wildlife.

Explorers have gone here.

Tales from Antiva describe a lush land, almost a paradise.

According to legend, there have been several colonization attempts; none of which are ever

heard from again...which is weird, because in order to KNOW of a lush land, the ships

would have needed to go there.

Maybe the original explorers went there, but weren't equipped to settle it, and so they

returned home.

As with most things like this in both fiction and reality, the tales probably grew larger

from the original telling.

Personally, I would assume it IS a verdant land as the tales describe, but

it's far from a paradise.

There's no way the explorers would have seen the ENTIRE land.

At best, they saw a few miles in from the coastline before needing to pack up and return

to their ships.

Now, I mentioned several colonization attempts.

Some were from Antiva, some were sponsored by the Free Marches.

There is a hefty pirate presence in the Amaranthine Ocean, and tales of large sea creatures.

Those, combined with the fact that the exact location of Amaranth isn't confirmed, means

that several of these expeditions may not have even made it to shore.

Though, according to legend, at least one did.

The wife of one of the would-be colonists went looking for her husband after she never

heard back from his expedition.

They found buildings, completely abandoned.

They only found one survivor, who was hiding in a cave and was terrified out of his mind.

When they tried to get him to come out, he killed himself.

Some suggest that if Amaranth exists at all, it is where the Qunari come from.

But, brother Genitivi questions this idea.

He asks, "Did the Qunari abandon their homes completely, leaving no trace of their former

civilization?

Or did they come from elsewhere, and Amaranth is simply another land with a mystery that

will someday be solved by future explorers?"

This leads us to the big one: the North-East.

I'm calling this land "Kossitha".

That's not its official name, but it doesn't have an official name, so that's just what

I'm calling it for now.

I talked about this in my Qunari & Kossith episode, but I'll do a quick recap here.

Some stories of where the qunari came from say they're from the East, while others say

they're from the North; so let's split the difference and say North-East.

Let's look at what Bull says.

["What about qunari who existed before the Qun?"

"The people we come from, they're called the kossith.

But we don't use that word for the race.

We came South to Thedas because the kossith were...I don't know.

We had to leave.

The stories aren't clear.

I don't imagine they look much like us, though.

Whatever they are."]

I am under the belief that the word "kossith" doesn't refer to a race, but a group of races.

Maybe it's even used like the word "qunari", like how even elves, humans, and dwarves born

into the Qun are considered qunari.

Or, in Mass Effect, the Protheans conquered many races across the galaxy, and all eventually

called themselves prothean, as they were part of the empire.

So, just imagine the kossith as an empire spanning another continent up this way.

It's said that the qunari prayed to gods while they were still part of the kossith, so we

can deduce from that that they are polytheistic.

When the Qun was established, the qunari fled kossitha for some unknown reason; but it's

reasonable to say that they were either exiled as heretics, or attempted war, only to be

beaten back, going into self-imposed exile rather than be wiped out or reconquered.

Based on how advanced qunari tech is compared to the rest of Thedas, we can say with relative

certainty that the kossith are just as advanced, if not more.

Now, in past videos, I've also brought up the Executors.

They claim to serve a higher purpose, and answer to a group known as "those across the

sea" who are NOT the qunari.

I'm guessing their name "Executors" comes from the fact that they "execute the will"

of "those across the sea."

They specifically refer to the Inquisition solving Thedas's problems; alluding to the

idea that those across the sea are a totally unique continent.

Now, those across the sea MAY be the kossith, or people of Amaranth: assuming Amaranth isn't

part of kossitha.

They may be connected by land.

If they are, I would imagine Amaranth as a penninsula extending from kossitha, but seperated

by some kind of forest, mountains, or both.

I'd like to talk more about kossith society in another video.

For now, let's move onto the North.

The Qunari control most of these islands up here.

It is believed that Par Vollen is where humans originally came from,

but no one knows for certain.

I'm pretty sure there are human natives that were there when the qunari arrived.

One other race that lives there are the fex, which were conquered by the Qun.

Not much has been revealed about the fex beyond their existence.

Apparently, while they are sentient, they were primitive.

Though, that might just be the qunari opinion.

Now, I've also talked about the pyramids of Par Vollen.

They are mathmatically perfect, and are arranged in accordance with the constellation Solium,

the origin of which is unconfirmed.

The Codex entry for the pyramids notes that it's weird that the Par Vollen natives clearly

had strong technology, but gave little to no resistance to the Qun.

Their culture was also easily abandoned.

It's theorized because they revered tall, horned figures, they saw the qunari as prophets.

I talked a lot about that in my Qunari & Kossith video, so I'm going to move on

before I get too deep.

All these islands up here have been contested between the Qunari and Tevinter for centuries.

But one of note that I don't even think is actually represented on the map is a large

island called "Par Ladi".

ALLEGEDLY, they have a capital with significant defenses, are very cultured and are adorned

with gold and jewels.

They speak an unknown language, are uninterested in contact with anyone else, and quickly expel

anyone who gets too close.

There are speculations as to why the qunari haven't attacked them.

It's possible that the qunari did try to go there, but they're fortresses held them back

and no one else in Thedas heard about it.

There are also legends that say they Parladians have witches that are able to cloak the island,

making it near-impossible to locate.

In Dragon Age, that's not a very far-fetched explanation.

Par Ladi may not even exist, but if it does...Well, it seems our world just keeps getting bigger.

Moving on, we're not quite done with the North.

Up here, we have the Donarks.

Apparently, it's an enormous jungle that has not been fully explored.

Besides paths being blocked by enormous trees and the like, explorers would also have to

deal with wildlife, which is quite unique.

A few Tevinter sailors have gone up here and it seems accounts of just how far the jungles

extend are varied.

In any event, what's beyond the coast remains a mystery.

It's possible it extends to the West, intersecting with the next stop on our tour de Thedas.

On the coast of the Volca Sea here in the Western Anderfels sits

the trading port town of Laysh.

Since the Volca sea is isolated from all other bodies of water, the only people Laysh traded

with are a people known as the Voshai.

The Voshai are a fascinating concept.

They would arrive on odd-looking ships, with crews of humans and dwarves.

The World of Thedas says they were hostile to the people Laysh, which I wouldn't take

to mean in a violent sense; as in openly attacking or anything.

I believe it's more that they were just unfriendly.

It says that they had no interest in learning our language for anything other than trade,

and had an almost obsessive interest in aquiring lyrium.

Now, "obsessive" is a strong word.

It's also worth noting that all the ships captains were dwarves, indicating that dwarves

either held a higher place in their society in general, or at least in

trade and/or their seafarers.

Apparently, the Voshai suddenly stopped coming in the early Black Age, around 500 years before

the Dragon Age.

Laysh fell into ruin without their trade; and eventually, several Tevinter houses banded

together to mount an expedition to find the Voshai's homeland.

The ships sent were never heard from again, nor were the ships that went after them.

Eventually, interest in reaching the Voshai's homeland ceased.

However, recently, there are reports that the Voshai have returned, bringing news of

a some kind of catastrophe from their homeland.

Okay, where do I even start with all this information?

I guess, with the dwarves and lyrium trading.

Okay, so...we know the Deep Roads MAY have extended beyond Thedas, so its possible that

there was or is another thaig over this way.

Dwarves coming to the surface was never unique to Orzammar, as evidence by Kal Repartha in

the Hissing Wastes, and who knows how many dwarves coming to the surface in ancient times.

So it's not out of the question that a group of dwarves were seperated from the rest of

the Deep Roads due to the Blights and cave-ins and such.

Eventually, at least some of them could have migrated to the surface and joined up with

a human society out there.

If not that, then...maybe surface dwarves of Thedas migrated out to the West at some

point in the past?

That seems less likely.

So I'm going to go ahead with the first theory.

Be sure to leave a comment if you have any other ideas.

So, about the "obsessive" interest in lyrium...I'm inclined to say it relates to the whole dwarven

thing, but there are still a few lingering questions.

Like, why is it SUCH a big deal.

I'm guessing they simply don't have enough lyrium where they come from.

But...would that mean that there's also no Titan over this way?

Uhhhh...I need to make an episode for lyrium.

I am not looking forward to that.

Anyway, their coming to Thedas is also odd.

Based on the way they acted towards the people of Laysh, they obviously didn't want to be there.

Then there's the fact that none of the Thedosian ships ever returned, but we shouldn't jump

to conclusions.

It's possible there are other dangers across the sea that the Voshai know how to deal with

while we do not.

But of course the most obvious answer is that they were captured or killed.

So...they DO know about Thedas, so why would they want to remain isolated?

I mean, making their presense known does come with plenty of drawbacks, but they would have

a much greater supply of lyrium.

So why would they be seem desperate for it in Laysh, but not enough so to forge greater

trade agreements?

I also wondered why they didn't try to invade and take lyrium for themselves, but that has

even more drawbacks than simply announcing themselves.

Now, the last thing I want to talk about with the Voshai is their absense for 500 years,

and sudden return with tales of a "massive cataclysm".

That is a very deliberate choice of words.

The first thing that pops into my head is some kind of magic storm.

That is a plot I'm a little surprised hasn't really been explored yet in Dragon Age.

Now, that is just an idea, not a full theory since there's nothing to back it up.

It could also be a grand civil war, or a natural disaster.

Although, all 3 of those ideas do not explain their 500 year absense.

That is a LONG time.

Think about everything that happened between the 1500s and 2000s alone.

What could have kept them busy that entire time?

I mean, maybe they found a huge deposit of lyrium so they didn't need to come to Thedas

anymore.

That's the most rational answer I can think of.

What about you guys; can you think of anything?

So anyway, are they fleeing... wait...

What if they DID find an enormous amount of lyrium, mined it, but then accidently awoke

a Titan which then went beserk more so than the one from The Descent?

Huh...

Again, nothing to back that up, but it's an interesting idea.

So, in any event, the World of Thedas says they may have recently returned, but we don't

know if they're straight up fleeing to Thedas, or if the're just here for a bit before returning

home.

Maybe a little of both.

Regardless, if we're heading up to Tevinter in the next game, I would not be surprised

if we also see a bit of the Anderfels.

If that's the case, we should at least hear some rumors about the Voshai.

Okay, wow.

Moving on, we're still not done with the West.

Side note: I'd like to say either the Voshai or the kossith are the most interesting things

we've talked about so far, but...this is where the WARDEN went; and so by default, this is

the coolest area.

Although, for some reason, it's also the area we know the least about.

If Alistair, Leliana, or Morrigan were romanced, then you can ask them about where the Warden went.

["How can the Calling be stopped?

Is that actually possible?"

"Grand Enchanter Fiona was once a Warden, so I'm told, but had the taint completely

drawn out of her.

And there was also a Warden named Avernus who extended his life far beyond what should

have been possible.

So we looked into it.

We weren't going to give up without a fight.

That's when we found a rumor that meant going deep into the West.

It wasn't much, but we've done more with less.

My love will find a way, I'm certain of it."

"The way you talk about her, I'm surprised you aren't still together."

"Oh, there was a discussion, believe me.

Someone had to look into the rumors about Corypheus.

We didn't know what was involved at the time.

She was going to stay to help, but we had a lead that couldn't wait.

One of us had to go.

When I'm done here, we'll be together again.

Forever this time."]

Leliana and Morrigan say pretty much the same thing as Alistair.

The main difference is that, in the Alistair version, he says

that they found the lead together.

In the Morrigan version, she says that she was the one who found it.

Leliana doesn't really comment about the source, just that it took her to the West.

["So we know it is possible.

Indeed, twas I who found the lead my love now follows in the Western lands."

"Her quest took her far to the West, to lands that have never known the Blight."]

All of this interests me, but Alistair specifically says that the lead they had simply couldn't wait.

That's...

What could that possibly be?

And Leliana mentions that it has never known the Blight...

Huh...

The only thing we know to be in the West are the Voshai.

Now, I'm tempted to make a joke about the Warden being the cause of the Voshai's disaster,

but come on.

The Warden isn't HAWKE, right?

In all seriousness, the cataclysm may be what got the Warden's attention in the first place.

That would explain why it couldn't wait.

Besides that, we should take a look at the borders of the map.

Okay, so down South is practically impossible to go through.

Even if we had to get over there, we'd be better off circling around the Sea of Ash.

But right to the North is a mountain range, which is apparently largely uncharted.

Have you even gone through mountains without an obvious path or road?

You may as well be walking to Mordor.

Now, I can totally buy that the Warden DID go through the mountains, but I'd say its

equally as likely that he went across the Volca sea.

Now, none of the other ships that went that way ever returned.

However, if Leliana was romanced, the Trespasser epilogue says that the Warden HAS returned.

So, IF the Warden went across the Volca sea, there are two main possibilities.

One, is that the Voshai are on the North side, and the Warden stayed South.

Or, the Warden accomplished what no one else did

and made it to the Voshai homeland AND returned.

If he/she actually did go there just after the cataclysm, that might explain how they

were able to avoid the same fate as those who went before.

With all that said, we still don't have enough information to establish a strong theory.

So, with that, I think I'm finally ready to wrap this up.

Man...This episode was a lot of fun, coupled with a lot of headaches.

Actually, that's pretty much all of Dragon Age, isn't it?

Okay, well that's it for now guys!

O QUE VOCE PRECISA SABER SOBRE PASTA DE AMENDOIM! THINGS YOU SHOULD KNOW ABOUT PEANUT BUTTER! - Duration: 6:10.

Hi guys! I got outside because it's warmer,

I think it's about 12C, look at the sunset,

Here in Minnesota

Today is Thursday,

I have bad news,

You know the baby bunny I posted on my previous video,

Link is up here,

It passed away, It survived for 2 days only,

The customer who saved the bunny, said

the baby bunny passed while it was on his chest. So sad, I just sent him an email to know about it...

I'm so silly!

But guys! Look at the sun!!!!

It's awesome huh?

I don't know why the snow it is still here...

It doesn't melt!

but people are happier,

here in Minnesota.

They are walking the dogs...

So much warmer! so good!

I'm so addicted to peanut butter!

I've always eaten a lot,

before bikini bodybuilding competitions,

but then I completely stopped because,

I was having skin breakouts

but during my last preps for show I was eating peanut butter

It was included on my diet plan,

but I didn't have any skin breakouts at all,

After all my shows, I start doing some research,

because I was ready to start eating some foods I really enjoy!

My diet was balanced,

I realized when I eat peanut butter I was not having breakouts anymore.

I did the research because I eat a lot of peanut butter...

At least 2-3 tablespoon (full) a day.

Not only pure peanut butter, but also

I know it may sound weird, but I eat chicken breast with peanut butter,

I like it. So, don't judge me!

Don't judge me!

I like to put peanut butter on my oatmeal! So good!

or the classic peanut butter with jelly on the rice cake!

Delicious!

How about on top of ice cream? I buy the diet versions (Arctic Zero, Halo)

The low calories ones...

and put a lot of peanut butter! Make a calorie bomb!

but I love peanut butter!

before I tell you what I've found out about eating peanut butter

and avoid inflammation,

I will tell you by the end of this video,

but before I will show you how we eat peanut butter here,

in a burger, so many restaurants have on their menu.

It's amazing!

It's trend! So many restaurants offer this option.

And I try it this week to show you,

It comes with jelly too!

It's a mix of cheddar, peanut butter and jelly all together!

If you don't find in the restaurants in Brazil. You must make it at home!

It must be easy to make it. If you are a peanut butter lover, you are gonna love it!

You can also make a salad dressing with peanut butter!

You mix some peanut butter, and that black liquid,

salty,

We call it...

"Soy sauce" in Portuguese?

I'm sorry I forgot how to say "soy sauce" in Portuguese!

You eat sushi with that...

What's the name? ahhhhh

The black sauce...

Anyways, mix that with some peanut butter,

Lemon juice, pepper, water for consistence,

You can make a salad dressing,

It tastes amazing in your salad,

Now, I'm gonna tell you why too much peanut butter causes inflammation,

I've found out peanut butter has too much omega 6

and omegas 6 can be found in so many other foods we consume daily,

Sunflower oil, soybean oil, margarine, sesame oil, avocado oil, sesame seeds, canola oil.

These foods are

easily found on your diet,

so, we consume much more of those.

To avoid inflammation and skin breakouts,

you have to balance your diet with

high omega 3 foods, such as:

Flaxseed oil, Salmon oil, Sardine oil, shrimp, olive oil, Fish oils and raw butter

These are high omega 3 foods

You have to eat more omega 3, if you consume a lot of peanut butter.

Eat these foods to balance your diet.

Don't forget high omega 6 causes inflammation in our body.

That's how I found out

I can actually eat more peanut butter, if I balance the omegas 3 and 6

Doing research about peanut butter,

I've also found out how important is to eat

organic peanuts and peanut butter

I wrote down the links for the research on the description box below...

Peanuts shells are soft and porous

It absorbs all chemicals and mold in the environment,

You eat it without knowing it,

All toxins from pesticides they apply,

Don't thing the peanut is protected by the shell...

Keep it mind it's porous and absorbent,

Aflotoxin are produced by certain fungi,

It can be in the peanut and the exposure to aflatoxins is associated with an increased risk of liver cancer,

So, try to eat the organic versions,

Something I've never done before is

keeping the peanut butter jar on the refrigerator,

because I like it creamy! But the right thing to do is to keep refrigerated,

I'll tell you why: It minimize the risk of aflatoxin to be developed in your peanut butter,

You open! Keep refrigerated!

I've never done that because I like creamy peanut butter...but don't do it!

And of course, if you want to be super healthy,

Get your peanut butter in a glass jag, not plastic

because of the chemicals from plastic containers,

Most of the organics comes in a glass jar already, so it helps!

So, that's it for today! I hope you guys liked it, because I loved doing this research,

and for the peanut butter addicts,

I'm sure you guys liked it.

Ok?

Balance the omegas 3 and 6

because this why you wont have pimples!

Kisses for you all...

Dust of gold ... inspired by Medjugorje - catholic religion - Duration: 2:16.

Blue eyes … A white face ...

black hair … She is 18 years old …

At Christmas, she has a golden dress ... And she comes with baby Jesus ...

In 2014, she wanted to stop her appearances ...

But we were not ready ... God allowed her to continue her appearances

to the children of Medjugorje ...

They are big now ... Some see the Blessed Virgin once a year

Others see it every day ...

It will seem that in the secrets ... It's about Saint Joseph ...

It will also appear that the church is crucified ...

I do not really know what that means ...

She had a book written about her life an indicator …

Which will be published in due course ...

At the end of the appearances, she will leave a big sign ...

And there will be many healings ... I do not know if these healings will take place

in Medjugorje ... or around the world ...

But they will certainly be related to Medjugorje ...

We know that there will not be of world war

and that there will be positive events ...

So trust ... faith ... and hope ...

Dust of gold ...

Emma gives her first grace with a swirl in a church, where a leaf

landed on his foot wearing a piece paper job offer for her, at

Canada. while she was poor and at unemployment

Emma de Guzman is a Catholic lay woman living in the Philippines. she is stigmatized

and has vision of Mary since 1991.

She is known for the golden dust that appears on his face during his trances.

TO NAJLEPSZE ĆWICZENIE NA SILNY, MOCNY KRĘGOSŁUP. - Duration: 1:43.

1. Usiądź na podłodze. Złącz nogi i ułóż je prosto przed sobą.2.

Wykonuj je regularnie, by wzmocnić kręgosłup i cieszyć się zdrowym, sprężystym ciałem.
