Hey guys, it's Annika. Welcome to my channika!

So before I start this video,

I just want to say I'm sorry if I look down the whole time,

but I just finally figured out how to hook my camera up

to my computer, and use my computer as a viewfinder.

But today, I'm just gonna be doing

this really random look.

I know that it's not the best,

but I figured that I would put it on the Internet,

just so in a few years, when I'm so good at makeup

— hopefully —

I'll be able to look back on this video

and be like, "Wow. I was so sh--y!"

I was trying really hard,

so it's my best effort.

It's a neon kind of thing.

I did some pink. I did some green.

I don't know if it's the best.

I'm kind of getting Cosmo / Wanda vibes.

But, yeah. I hope you guys enjoy the video.

This is a little bit spur-of-the-moment.

I think I'm just gonna film the intro

after I do the makeup look.

But I did this look randomly,

because I was looking on Pinterest

for makeup inspiration, and I saw a bunch of neon . . .

kind of . . . those neon things.

I know the trend has kind of passed already, but . . .

Oh, and . . . That's cute.

We're gonna first start by priming my eyes.

I feel so crusty right now.

It's because I am crusty.

I forgot.

I'm gonna prime . . . Ooh.

Ugh. I guess I'm on p--y.

I don't really know what this look is.

I don't even know if it's any good.

But I posted this eye on my public spam,

and everybody was like, "Oh my god, Annika!

Do a video!" So it's like . . .

I have to force myself not to look down.

So we are going to take the Morphe 35 "beh" palette.

That's how you say "b" in Spanish.

And I'm gonna take the Morphe M332

use code "Shishtar."

And you're just gonna put that in your crease.

Try not to get it everywhere.

I kind of got it everywhere on that eye.

I honestly had no idea what I was doing

when I first started.

I didn't watch a tutorial.

I just kind of looked at a picture,

and then went with it.

Okay, the video with Tana, James, and Jeffree

was so iconic.

Like, I don't think I've ever met more holy of a Trinity.

Also, I can't believe that James Charles

is a virgin, hasn't done drugs, and hasn't drinkin.

I just like . . . Obviously,

I'm not surprised that somebody "hasn't done drugs."

But the people that he's around,

I'm just surprised that he hasn't, you know?

Are you picking up what I'm putting down, sister?

Oooh, this eyelash is so itchy.

Oh my god.

That is like the most intense itch ever.

So we're gonna take the NYX White Liquid Liner.

It looks like this.

Since my eye shape is kind of weird . . .

Like, my crease, when it's closed,

is not cute when it's open.

So with this eye I just did this open,

so that it just fits that natural shape of my open eye,

rather than the shape of my closed eye,

which would start somewhere over there.

That's just a #lifehack I have for you guys,

if it ever looks weird when you do

cut creases and stuff like this.

Wow.

Who knew a video could go so downhill, so fast?

Shister.

That doesn't look that bad.

I think the music calmed me.

So we're gonna go back into the 35b,

and we're gonna take the same brush,

and we're just gonna take this light green shade,

mix it a little bit with the dark green shade.

And we're just gonna stamp that on top.

Careful not to go outside of that crease,

but just [phone alert "Someone texted me"] . . .

Someone texted me.

Basically stamping on the white part,

so that it kind of looks like a neon sign,

if you're catching my drift.

I'm back. Now what we're gonna do . . .

We've already concealed a little bit underneath the eye.

Actually, I think I should just go full . . . No. It's fine.

Now we're gonna take the bright pink in this palette

I'm taking it on a sh--y Claire's brush,

because it's the one that's already stained pink.

And you're just gonna run this on your lower lash line.

Now what you're gonna do is,

on the same brush, you're gonna bring this up

to meet that wing.

These are, like, mad uneven.

Okay. And then you're gonna do the same thing

with that little white liner.

And you're just gonna draw on top of that,

and then, you're gonna stamp pink on top of it again.

And make sure . . .

Ugh!

I just messed that up so bad.

Make sure your two tails connect.

I need to get a new one of these.

My brush is so messed up.

And then, like I said, we're gonna do the same thing,

and kind of just stamp pink onto that.

And I'm gonna put a little bit more green.

Aight.

Now I'm going to take the NYX Jumbo Eye Pencil

in the shade "Milk."

I'm going to line my waterline with that,

all the way to the inner corner with that, as well.

Then, I'm gonna use the "Camille" lashes

by Huda Beauty.

I don't know where the box is.

It's the one that I'm wearing on that eye.

They're like half lashes.

They're called, like, "Easy Lash."

I'm gonna come back with my eyebrow

and my mascara, and . . . yeah.

So. I just put on the other lash.

Now I'm going to take

Bad Habit Retro Love Palette.

It's a dupe for the Anastasia Subculture Palette.

So if you have that palette,

the shade that's the green one will work.

This one is in the shade "Icon."

I just kind of wanted a green metallic color

in my inner corner.

And I'm also gonna highlight my brow bone with that.

Okay. And then, I know that this is wicked extra,

but I'm gonna take the Stila

Glitter and Glow Liquid Eyeshadow

in the shade "Kitten Karma."

And I'm just gonna pop a little bit of that on top,

smudge it out a little bit.

I kind of f-- with this.

This eye, I don't really f-- with.

So, I'm going to just contour my nose,

add some highlight.

I'm just gonna speed through that,

just because this is kind of a random video.

Yeah. I'll be back to show you guys

what I do with my lips.

For lips, I have no idea what I'm gonna do, to be honest.

I think I'm going to use the Huda Beauty lip gloss

in the shade "Snobby."

I love this lip gloss. It's such a beautiful color.

So yeah. This is the final look.

I don't even know what this is.

Like, a neon Cosmo / Wanda type situation.

But I hope that you guys enjoyed.

move quick before those weird freaks come back check it out what is this

three mini action dinos we have the t-rex the Triceratops and this Diggy

Milad so here we have they named all three okay let's open it up and check it

out Oh guys I'm super excited peace look

really cool these look like the UH the

blind bags I opened up earlier except you could actually see what's in the

package Wow check that out before I take them off they look cool okay Wow these

are really cool so first of all with this Diggy malach you get really super

great detail for such a small dinosaur and on top of all that you get a head

that moves up and down and it also turns 360 degrees okay the arms don't move the

legs don't move the tail it is plastic but it has almost like a rubber feel to

it so there is sticking a lot and then we have this

super shiny t-rex his mouth does open and close I mean oh who put all the way

up where it looks almost like his jaw fell off his neck is a bit flexible but

it doesn't turn or anything the arms don't move the legs don't move well he

is like a shiny metallic brown and like a darker Brown and then we get this cool

Triceratops which will turn his head 360 degrees and he moves his head up and

down okay it's a little stiff at the beginning but he does move his head up

or down work charging there you can see he's got he's three horns little tiny

black eyes really cool authentic looking green coloring and it's got the little

GW logo here and it's got a number here so that number will probably identify

what it is so I could put its head down there and charge okay let's see what

else we had in that egg okay let's see what else was in here

mine oh mine Oh get out of here I'll lift the kids see what's in the egg Wow

check it out we got another three pack of dinos here we have a velociraptor a

Stegosaurus and the indominus rex wow that's awesome

once he opened it up off right I forgot to show you on the last one was they

have this little checklist here of all the dinos these a lot of these are the

same dinos that came in the surprise bags which I have already showed you and

on the other side you have a picture of an exploding volcano and then here is

the dinos before I take them out of their package I did forget to show you

the back of the package here's where they identify him and it's saying the

indominus rex is an exclusive character so let's go ahead and check out these

mini dinos starting with my favorite the indominus rex so this guy is like a

see-through material there you can see on the if I put my finger behind he was

see right through it so he must be in his invisible stealth mode

so the mouth does open in close and I heard they are supposed to be making a

bigger indominus rex character on Mattel so that is gross so here you can see I

mean he's entirely seafood everywhere I mean you even have checkout up here you

could see the mechanism that opens and closes his mouth right through his skin

it looks like it's like a neck bone or something that is awesome I love this

indominus so he is in stealth mode and then we have this awesome little

velociraptor his legs do move 360 degrees he's got

his third claw he's got rubber arms his head doesn't move or anything but he's

got really cool-looking tiny little eyes so that won't look too and then the

Stegosaurus so with this Stegosaurus once again if

you watched my video of the blind bags he does have a swinging tail so all of

these characters and blind bags have an action feature so this is like a tan and

dark green stegasaurus really cool detail tiny little eyes I mean this

these are awesome characters and once again identified by

numbers and the Jurassic world logo okay I don't see anybody around quick let's

go ahead and open that egg let's marry my oh my my precious

haha my mine hey he's taking the egg stop shoo shoo shoo

Wow that was a close one let's see what else we had in here Wow

we have hot wheels guys that is awesome look we have five different Jurassic

world fallen Kingdom vehicles a wonderful identifies all of them does

show two of the playsets over there but anyways it looks like we've got a

gyrosphere the sub and SUV looks like the Hummer from the movie and this would

be the gyrosphere launcher okay so here is all five of them let's go ahead and

take a look at each one of these individually okay so here is the sub

doesn't have any moving parts but it does got the big saw the arm you can see

inside the sub so it looks exactly like the bigger stuff here is the bigger one

so you can see they look exactly and here's the gyrosphere and it

actually turns inside you can see the seat turning as you turn the gyrosphere

so it's really cool and it does look exactly like the bigger one here's a

look at the finger

and here is their armored transport vehicle super great detail they did on

that and all of them they roll really smooth that one looks just like the

bigger one which I will be reviewing and then you have the Mercedes I believe

this is q5 so that is another classic one and then you have a white Hummer

so this is definitely military it says

engine on the side

okay so let's go back to our giant egg and see what up what where's the egg

somebody eat it who took it the interrupter you say in the Raptor

took the egg ah I gotta get that back wait a minute guys

okay here is the egg and here is the corporate death hook it go home in the

rafter they don't like you know as FAR's okay let's see what else was in here Wow

another pack five pack of Hot Wheels this is from Target

this is Jurassic world Legacy Collection so really cool you got the big RV from

Jurassic I believe is Jurassic Park 3 with the Spinosaurus you got the classic

Jeep you got the classic for an incident floor you've got a maintenance vehicle

and an SUV cool okay so let's go ahead and take these out and then we will take

a look at them okay so this first one is the electric SUV from Jurassic world one

that's the one you see that the power goes out then it stops in front of the

t-rex cage you've got the big glass here where the t-rex breaks through and tries

to eat the passengers and then we have the classic Jurassic

Park Jeep Wranglers so that one is definitely a classic and it looked

really cool we've got the big armored RB from Jurassic world 3 this is the one

that t-rex is go ahead and push over the edge with Canada I have the two big

classic warm super law the drastic world toys sense and this is an SUV from one

of them and then you have a maintenance vehicle so I believe this one was from

the maintenance vehicle that was on the one that indominus rex attacks and then

the cool thing is if you have the colossal t-rex this guy will swallow

probably about twenty some of these or if you watch the gaming beaver you could

play Jurassic world basketball okay but anyways you can just go ahead throw

these things right into so that three of them they'll roll right down for five Oh

6:7 thing is with these you can it's harder to smash them than it is the

original ones eight and ten so you could easily fit ten matchbox vehicles in

there and if you shake this guy they will move down here if you look at its

mouth just barely see them in there this is the colossal t-rex one with a roar

it's the Battle Damage one that's exclusive to Walmart so anyways if you

want to take them out you just go ahead open its stomach here and turn it up

so I easily fit ten of them okay cool okay so that's it for the toys what the

in director does not know that hang on we're gonna go ahead and set our trap

you know you like the egg so much we're gonna go ahead and put you in there

okay now that we got them sealed in the air okay we're gonna go ahead and ship

him I think we're gonna go ahead and ship him off to the lot of fun that was

A Magyar Vizsla / The Hungarian Vizsla - Duration: 14:32.

I am Hedvig Balazs, the owner of Csipkeskuti Hungarian Vizsla kennel.

. I met the breed first incidentally, when a vizsla came into our family, when I was a child.

In 1995 I got a Vizsla bitch puppy as a birthday present. This was a decisive moment in my life.

She was meant to be a pet, but she was so talented in hunting and was such a nice dog that

I began to go for hunts and shows with her.

Later I founded the kennel and had the first pack from this bitch.

This year the kennel will be 20 years old, we worked and developed a lot.

The main focus of our breeding program is to keep this ancient Hungarian breed as it is.

It has two sides: to keep its look and its working abilities as our ancestors created it.

The Hungarian Vizsla is an all purpose hunting dog and can be used for small game hunting,

for searching big game, they are able to work in water and collection of small game.

Vizsla is an ancient Hungarian breed, its history can not be separated from Hungarian history.

. Their ancestors arived in the Carpathian Basis with the Hungarian tribes in the 9th century.

From the 11th century we have pictures about the first vizslas look, they were the so called yellow,

brown and spotted hunter dogs that can be seen in chronicles.

From the 14th century, the word „vizsla" is mentioned in codexes andother historic papers.

When Hungary was occupied by the Turk Empire, they were mixed with the Turk „yellow dog",

which gave the its special color, which cannot be mistaken.

Vizslas are one of the very rare breed, who does not have any black pigments in them.

. In the 18th century, when rifles became widespread, there was a growing demand for hunting dogs,

who search and bring back the small game that were shot.

Their number grew and they became widespread all over Hungarian hunting communities.

This was the time, when conscious breeding started and it aimed the selection for hunting purposes.

After repressing the Hungarian revolution in 1849, hunting rights were drastically

restricted by the Austrian imperial government.

This time the population of the vizsla decreased in sizeable amount.

Of course, the two world wars did not help vizsla to develop and grow in population further.

. The official registration process began in 1920, FCI accepted them in 1935

as an official registered dog breed, they are the 57th dog breed in the line of registrations.

Their second revival of the vizsla breed began in the 1960s, their numbers grew steadily.

. It was helped a lot by the International Hunting Fair in 1971 and the vizsla contests that were part of the program.

As I mentioned earlier, the Hungarian Vizsla is basically a multi-purpose hunting dog,

which can be used for small game hunting, for searching big game, they are able to work in water and collection of small game.

They are very human centered, focusing on their owner/leader, who were in the hands of hunters for centuries.

By now, more and more people are having them as pets,

as they are a very adaptive and kind breed.

What you should definitely know about the vizsla, if you plan to choose this breed.

. Even, if we keep them as a pet, by birth they are real hunters.

They need a lot of activity and they must be kept active both physically and mentally.

. It is usually not enough to have walks with them,

you have to give them mental work and solvable tasks as well.

The ideal owner lives an active and sporty life and have several hours a day to spend with the dog.

Today, hunting is done by only a layer of the society.

Vizslas are very good in dog sports, like freesby, agility, but even armed forces can use them

because their above the average smell abilities.

They can handle complex duties and have a high level of combinatorial abilities.

For whom I surely does not recommend the vizsla: those, who live a relaxed,less active life.

For a vizsla it is not enough taht he can walk alone in a big garden.

Basically the vizsla is a very healthy breed. Of course, in breeding, we screen the for many illnesses,

like hip, shoulder and knee dysplasia and in some countries for eye defects.

In the past decades vizsla is getting more and more popular.

By now, the majority of the owners have them as pets.

In Hungary, they are in the most popular five breeds and we see a growing population in other countries

like the USA, Northern Europe, Russia and Israel.

We frequently send puppies even to South Korea and Australia.

One of the main reason of theis growing popularity is that it is a very healthy breed,

it is very easy to live with them, have a strong nerve system,

they can travel with the family without problems.

They have a long life span, in many cases, a well kept Hungarian Vizsla

can live up to 15 years, or more.

Look here: while we are talking they are laying on the ground restless,

but when we go to the fields, they are like energy bombs.

Today, even hunters keep them as family pets.

As the Hungarian Vizsla is very adaptive and can live in families as a fully able family member.

This fully applies for families with kids.

. The vizsla accepts children of all ages, of course

the childre also have to learn the rules of handling a middle sized dog with high energy level.

When I took home my newborn baby, we had seven vizslas, they smelled her, licked her leg

and layed dow to the couch nearby her.

We have never had any atrocities, what is more, they cared and guarded her.

The vizsla is very patient, I know about a vizsla who taught his little human friend to walk,

as the kid was grabbing his collar while made the first steps

In the past 20 years of Csipkeskuti Kennel, we bred a lot of very successful vizslas.

The two, I am most proud of are the two who are here now:

Csipkeskuti Hancur and Csipkeskuti Hekas.

They are brothers and sisters from the same pack with working bloodline parents.

Hekas was 3 times winner of the year in work and was awarded with Somogyi Cup.

From 2014 to 2016 he won everything that is possible

In 2017 Hancur was awarded with the same Cup and

as far as I know, she is the only short haired Hungarian Vizsla

who isa dual Inter champion in the show ring and work as well.

HOW TO DO NEON EYELINER - Duration: 5:55.

Hey guys, it's Annika. Welcome to my channika!

So before I start this video,

I just want to say I'm sorry if I look down the whole time,

but I just finally figured out how to hook my camera up

to my computer, and use my computer as a viewfinder.

But today, I'm just gonna be doing

this really random look.

I know that it's not the best,

but I figured that I would put it on the Internet,

just so in a few years, when I'm so good at makeup

— hopefully —

I'll be able to look back on this video

and be like, "Wow. I was so sh--y!"

I was trying really hard,

so it's my best effort.

It's a neon kind of thing.

I did some pink. I did some green.

I don't know if it's the best.

I'm kind of getting Cosmo / Wanda vibes.

But, yeah. I hope you guys enjoy the video.

This is a little bit spur-of-the-moment.

I think I'm just gonna film the intro

after I do the makeup look.

But I did this look randomly,

because I was looking on Pinterest

for makeup inspiration, and I saw a bunch of neon . . .

kind of . . . those neon things.

I know the trend has kind of passed already, but . . .

Oh, and . . . That's cute.

We're gonna first start by priming my eyes.

I feel so crusty right now.

It's because I am crusty.

I forgot.

I'm gonna prime . . . Ooh.

Ugh. I guess I'm on p--y.

I don't really know what this look is.

I don't even know if it's any good.

But I posted this eye on my public spam,

and everybody was like, "Oh my god, Annika!

Do a video!" So it's like . . .

I have to force myself not to look down.

So we are going to take the Morphe 35 "beh" palette.

That's how you say "b" in Spanish.

And I'm gonna take the Morphe M332

I honestly had no idea what I was doing

when I first started.

I didn't watch a tutorial.

I just kind of looked at a picture,

and then went with it.

Okay, the video with Tana, James, and Jeffree

was so iconic.

Like, I don't think I've ever met more holy of a Trinity.

Also, I can't believe that James Charles

is a virgin, hasn't done drugs, and hasn't drinkin.

I just like . . . Obviously,

I'm not surprised that somebody "hasn't done drugs."

But the people that he's around,

I'm just surprised that he hasn't, you know?

Are you picking up what I'm putting down, sister?

Oooh, this eyelash is so itchy.

Oh my god.

That is like the most intense itch ever.

So we're gonna take the NYX White Liquid Liner.

It looks like this.

Since my eye shape is kind of weird . . .

Like, my crease, when it's closed,

is not cute when it's open.

So with this eye I just did this open,

so that it just fits that natural shape of my open eye,

rather than the shape of my closed eye,

which would start somewhere over there.

That's just a #lifehack I have for you guys,

if it ever looks weird when you do

cut creases and stuff like this.

Wow.

Who knew a video could go so downhill, so fast?

Shister.

That doesn't look that bad.

I think the music calmed me.

So we're gonna go back into the 35b,

and we're gonna take the same brush,

and we're just gonna take this light green shade,

mix it a little bit with the dark green shade.

And we're just gonna stamp that on top.

Careful not to go outside of that crease,

but just [phone alert "Someone texted me"] . . .

Basically stamping on the white part,

so that it kind of looks like a neon sign,

if you're catching my drift.

I'm back. Now what we're gonna do . . .

We've already concealed a little bit underneath the eye.

Actually, I think I should just go full . . . No. It's fine.

We've concealed a little bit underneath the eye.

Now we're gonna take the bright pink in this palette

I'm taking it on a sh--y Claire's brush,

because it's the one that's already stained pink.

And you're just gonna run this on your lower lash line.

Now what you're gonna do is,

on the same brush, you're gonna bring this up

to meet that wing.

These are, like, mad uneven.

Okay. And then you're gonna do the same thing

with that little white liner.

And you're just gonna draw on top of that,

and then, you're gonna stamp pink on top of it again.

And make sure . . .

Ugh!

I just messed that up so bad.

Make sure your two tails connect.

I need to get a new one of these.

My brush is so messed up.

And then, like I said, we're gonna do the same thing,

and kind of just stamp pink onto that.

And I'm gonna put a little bit more green.

Aight.

Now I'm going to take the NYX Jumbo Eye Pencil

in the shade "Milk."

I'm going to line my waterline with that,

all the way to the inner corner with that, as well.

Then, I'm gonna use the "Camille" lashes

by Huda Beauty.

I don't know where the box is.

It's the one that I'm wearing on that eye.

They're like half lashes.

They're called, like, "Easy Lash."

I'm gonna come back with my eyebrow

and my mascara, and . . . yeah.

So. I just put on the other lash.

Now I'm going to take

Bad Habit Retro Love Palette.

It's a dupe for the Anastasia Subculture Palette.

So if you have that palette,

the shade that's the green one will work.

This one is in the shade "Icon."

I just kind of wanted a green metallic color

in my inner corner.

And I'm also gonna highlight my brow bone with that.

Okay. And then, I know that this is wicked extra,

but I'm gonna take the Stila

Glitter and Glow Liquid Eyeshadow

in the shade "Kitten Karma."

And I'm just gonna pop a little bit of that on top,

smudge it out a little bit.

I kind of f-- with this.

This eye, I don't really f-- with.

So, I'm going to just contour my nose,

add some highlight.

I'm just gonna speed through that,

just because this is kind of a random video.

Yeah. I'll be back to show you guys

what I do with my lips.

For lips, I have no idea what I'm gonna do, to be honest.

I think I'm going to use the Huda Beauty lip gloss

in the shade "Snobby."

I love this lip gloss. It's such a beautiful color.

So yeah. This is the final look.

I don't even know what this is.

Like, a neon Cosmo / Wanda type situation.

Supreme Court Rules Cops Can Kill Non-Threatening People As Long As They Say They Were Scared

In a ruling that will be used to a reinforce a disturbing pattern practiced by police officers

across the United States, the Supreme Court has determined that officers who shoot non-threatening

citizens are completely justified and cannot face consequences for their actions�as long

as they express to the court that they feared for their safety.

The case of Kisela v. Hughes originated from a police shooting in Tucson, Arizona, in 2010.

Police Corporal Andrew Kisela heard a report over police radio about a woman using a kitchen

knife to hack a tree and acting erratically in public.

He responded to the scene with two other officers.

On the other side of a chain-link fence, the officers saw Sharon Chadwick standing next

to her car.

Her roommate, Amy Hughes, emerged from the house with a kitchen knife held at her side.

Despite the fact that the two women were standing at least six feet apart, the blade of the

knife was facing away from Chadwick, and Hughes did not appear to be threatening her roommate

in any way, all three officers approached the fence with their guns drawn.

Less than 60 seconds after Kisela saw Chadwick, he opened fire and shot Hughes four times

through the fence.

After she fell to the ground, officers jumped over the fence, approached Hughes and placed

her in handcuffs, and then called paramedics.

It took just seconds for Officer Kisela to choose to shoot Hughes multiple times, even

though she had not broken any laws and she did not appear to be threatening anyone.

Miraculously, Hughes did not die from the gunshot wounds she sustained and Chadwick

was not injured during the reckless attack.

Hughes filed a lawsuit against Kisela, based on the claim that her civil rights were violated

during the shooting.

While a federal district judge ruled in favor of Kisela, the 9th Circuit Court of Appeals

reversed the decision and argued that Hughes� Fourth Amendment rights were clearly violated.

The Supreme Court has now reversed the 9th Circuit court�s decision, and in its opinion

on the case, the court argued that there should not be a debate over whether Hughes� Fourth

Amendment rights were violated, because Kisela should automatically be afforded �qualified

immunity� as a police officer.

The Court need not, and does not, decide whether Kisela violated the Fourth Amendment when

he used deadly force against Hughes.

For even assuming a Fourth Amendment violation occurred�a proposition that is not at all

evident�on these facts Kisela was at least entitled to qualified immunity.

�Qualified immunity attaches when an official�s conduct does not violate clearly established

statutory or constitutional rights of which a reasonable person would have known � Because

the focus is on whether the officer had fair notice that her conduct was unlawful, reasonableness

is judged against the backdrop of the law at the time of the conduct.�

As SCOTUS Blog noted, even if the Supreme Court judges believed that Kisela was guilty

of violating Hughes� Fourth Amendment rights, �Kisela still could not be sued because

any rights that he might have violated were not clearly established�a key factor in

whether government officials enjoy immunity from lawsuits.�

Even though Chadwick testified that she did not feel threatened by Hughes or the knife

in her hand at the time of the shooting, the Supreme Court has chosen to side with the

police officer who chose to open fire within seconds, before taking the time to accurately

assess the situation.

By supporting Kisela�s actions, the Supreme Court has essentially given all police officers

a blank check, which says that if they see a person standing in the distance on her property,

and she appears to be holding a weapon in her hand, the officer has the right to open

fire and shoot her multiple times�as long as the officer maintains that he feared for

his safety, even if he cannot prove that the person he targeted was threatening him.

In a dissenting opinion, Supreme Court Justice Sonia Sotomayor argued that while the other

two officers attempted to use verbal commands to convince Hughes to drop the knife, Kisela

made no attempt to de-escalate the situation and opted to use deadly force instead.

Hughes was nowhere near the officers, had committed no illegal act, was suspected of

no crime, and did not raise the knife in the direction of Chadwick or anyone else.

Faced with these facts, the two other responding officers held their fire, and one testified

that he �wanted to continue trying verbal command[s] and see if that would work.�

But not Kisela.

He thought it necessary to use deadly force, and so, without giving a warning that he would

open fire, he shot Hughes four times, leaving her seriously injured.

Kisela did not wait for Hughes to register, much less respond to, the officers� rushed

commands.

Instead, Kisela immediately and unilaterally escalated the situation.

It is no secret that police officers regularly get away with shooting and killing innocent

citizens in the United States, and they do so by arguing that they opened fire because

they feared for their safety.

By choosing to support a trigger-happy officer who chose to put lives at risk, the Supreme

Court has made it clear that there will be no justice for the innocent woman who received

life-threatening injuries as a result of the attack and that police will continue to get

away with targeting the mentally ill, and will face no consequences

for their actions.
