What We Know About the Blackface Drake Photo Pusha-T Used for "The Story of Adidon" - Duration: 2:08.
What up guys, Frazier here for Complex News.
The rap game is still reeling from Pusha-T's scathing diss record against Drake, "The
Story of Adidon."
The wildest part is that there isn't just one explosive nugget to dive on, there's
a whole bounty of new, bewildering information to absorb.
Most people are diving on the idea of Drake potentially having a secret child but the
artwork is also a heavy topic of conversation.
The photo in question depicts Drake, reportedly circa 2008, in blackface makeup and a Jim
Crow-referencing hoodie/T-shirt combo.
Pusha quickly clarified after dropping the diss that no Photoshopping took place, adding
that he's "not an internet baby" with those capabilities.
Of the photo Push said "These are his truths."
Pusha himself linked the photo to a shoot by photographer David Leyes.
Leyes, who has since removed the image from his official website and briefly made his
Instagram account private, defended the shoot as an artistic statement envisioned by Drake,
in IG comments.
"For sure I took it!"
I'm proud to be part of a strong statement made by a black man about the fucked up culture
he is living in."
In a since-deleted tweet, Leyes also asked Pusha's manager Steven Victor to have the
photo removed "asap."
As for some context on the source material of the "Adidon" cover, the image is actually
one of two photos believed to have been shot for Too Black Guys' 2008-era Jim Crow Couture
project.
The Toronto streetwear brand has previously described the collection as an artistic criticism
taking aim at "the government-endorsed system of racial oppression" in 19th century U.S.

Lupe Fiasco also hopped into the debate Tuesday night, noting that he interpreted the two
photos as showing the "powerful duality of representation and race and its expectations
on art."
That being said, Pusha is seeking more clarity on the inspiration behind the shoot, as he
told the Breakfast Club when he called in Wednesday morning.
"I need a few answers.
"I really do.
Like, I really need to understand like what makes you take a picture like that.
Like, what's the problem?"
Drake has to both answer for Pusha's allegations, the photo and the kid that is, and release
a response.
But as we've seen, more times than not Drake rises to every challenge he's given.
On the other hand...Pusha is clearly baiting a response so he must be ready for one.
This hot summer is just getting started.

A massive manhunt is underway for a man who shot and killed a Tennessee sheriff's deputy,
according to officials.
A Dickson County sheriff's deputy got into an altercation with the suspect when the deputy
responded to a report of a stolen vehicle in Kingston Springs.
Officers said they lost contact with the deputy and were able to find him by tracking his
vehicle, where they found him shot dead inside the car, FOX News reports.
The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation identified the suspect as Steven Wiggins.
He is described as a white male with balding, brown hair.
There is now a $7,500 reward for information leading to his arrest, officials said.
Officials said a female was being interviewed in connection with the incident but further
details were not available.
Police said Wiggins was fighting with his girlfriend on Tuesday and allegedly slapped
her, held her at gunpoint and stole her car.
He was wanted for "aggravated assault and theft" in connection with that incident,
WSMV reported.
An alert for an armed suspect was issued for residents in Dickson and authorities urged
residents to contact authorities if they see anything suspicious.
Video on social media appeared to show state troopers in tactical gear converging on the
area.
Wiggins has an arrest record.
He was convicted for aggravated assault, theft, vandalism and domestic assault."
Earlier this year, the suspect was ordered to show up for community service but never
showed up.
Officials didn't officially identify the officer, but family and friends told The Tennessean
that it was 32-year-old Sgt.
Daniel Baker who was killed.
"Our hearts are shattered, one of best deputies was killed.
He's one of the guys who puts it on the line every day to keep up safe," Sheriff
Jeff Bledsoe said.
The Tennessean reported the Baker who was employed with the sheriff's department in
2008 made headlines after he chased an intoxicated man who shot a gun in the parking lot of a
theater.
He also helped a woman in 2013 who was trapped underwater in an overturned vehicle.
Since the start of 2018, at least 40 law enforcement officers across the U.S. have died while on
duty — with 25 of the deaths caused by gunfire, FOX reports.

The White House is aggressively stepping up its fight for tighter border enforcement,
blaming former President Obama's "catch-and-release" policies and legal loopholes promoted by congressional
Democrats for the surge in fraudulent asylum claims and youth smuggling into the U.S…
As part of its battle, the White House cited new and disturbing numbers that detail the
surge in illegal immigration and asylum claims that they say are the result of the wink and
nod policies of the Obama era loopholes.
Among them:
Illegal entry attempts have tripled as immigrants have tried to get into the U.S. before new
effort to stop them can be implemented.
Apprehensions of illegal immigrants are up 50,000 for the second month in a row.
Another shocking figure: "there has been a 315 percent one-year increase in illegals
using children to pose as family units to gain entry into the country."
Criminal aliens know that Obama let in people with kids.
His administration didn't even bother finding out if it was the same family.
So, illegals can just kidnap children and force them to accompany them.
See why his policies were so bad?
Democrats have done nothing.
They foolishly think that the legions of illegals that sneak across the border will support
them.
Because Democrats promise them free government benefits and "amnesty."
Guess who suffers?
Americans who work hard to support their families.
And the millions of legal immigrants who want to come here fairly.
But since when have Democrats cared about what's fair?
These are "social justice warriors."
They want to take your money and give it to criminals and illegals.
Democrats would rather have us all poor and miserable, as long as they are in office.

Hi, everyone. This is John Battaglia with At Ease Home Inspections. And today we're doing an inspection on a brand new house in Buford, Georgia.
When I'm not inspecting, I'm actually a code instructor for the Atlanta Home Builders Association. So I teach builders how to build to code and
one of my classes is just on siding and flashing. So I want to show you something today...
In my class, I stress to the builders that
keeping water out of a home all comes down to details. So right here we have
adhered stone veneer- this is not real stone. It's
manufactured or cultured stone. When we get up here to these
returns right here. I'll show you where details can make a big difference. As you can see right here
there's openings in and [if] I were to shine a light back in here, you'd see there's just bare OSB, or bare wood
back in these openings.
One, there should be house wrap back behind there that'd keep any water that got in there from rotting out the wood, but then secondly,
we should also have this sealed up to where no water can get in there.
This is a brand new house and a couple months from now... It's the same thing over here on this side, by the way.
There's gaps going back behind that return as well.
But water would get down in there and rot out your sheathing or your OSB and
you'd start to see water coming in your garage after a couple months, and that would be a big old mess. So...

and you should be
drilling your teeth down to cones or stumps is
so permanent
why would anyone drill perfectly good teeth
I knew very fast that drilling was not for me
I just wanted to look better or do something different
why would I want to do anything to my teeth that's not reversible
and that's why I say no to drilling
I've done my research and the technology
it's changed and it's changing every single day
just look at the people who received dental veneers 5 or 10 years ago
today they would make a different choice
for me it's all about choice
