Spring-ish Cleaning - The Project List - Duration: 8:07.

Hi I'm Mike, pseudo spring has hit the ranch, we are expecting some temperatures up into

the 50's and 60's over the next couple of days and that gives us a chance to do some

spring cleaning for the project list on our Wyoming life.

Behind me is the project list and ever filling board of things that need done around the

ranch, every Tuesday we tackle a few items off the list and bring you along.

If this is your first time here, subscribe and join us as we explore the ranch life and

escape the ordinary.

There's a lot going on around the ranch this time of year and not enough hours in

the day to get it all done.

Tomorrow we will be taking our first load of steers off the ranch to the processing

facility and bringing back the pork that we took over a couple of weeks ago.

In addition, calving is starting to ramp up, we now have had 3 heifers that have calved

and one surprise calf born out with the cows that we will talk about a little later.

Spring cleaning around here is a group effort and we got our start yesterday evening after

the kids got home from school.

A new chore that the kids have this year is picking up all the netwrap that comes off

of bales that we feed to the cows.

Grace who is 4 years old and Mackenzie who is 7, both get to it as I get to cleaning

up the shop with them.

They load it all into the tractor bucket and we take it over to the incinerator for burning.

Both Erin and I love it when the weather starts to turn a bit warmer and getting the kids

involved in what we do on a day to day basis is not only free labor for us, but a great

experience for them as well.

Running a ranch is very much a family affair, everyone gets involved and as the kids get

older we see them doing more and more.

Not all the netwrap is going to fit in the incinerator but we can get to burning what

we can and afterwards they do some sweeping.

This morning I can get right back to it, the weather is still getting warmer for us, today

we are expecting a high in the 50's and cleaning the shop is the first project after

getting everyone fed and watered.

The shop sometimes becomes cluttered with way to much trash, feed bags mostly that get

thrown to the side when filling the cake feeder or feeding the steers.

With the help of the tractor bucket again we can start hauling more paper trash out

to the incinerator and get it fired up again.

Also in the shop we have a bunch of last year's pumpkins to do something with before they

start to rot and off to the chickens they can go, loading them up into the bucket as

well.

Heres a development that was surprising, netwrap is a petroleum based product and apparently

the netwrap that we didn't get into the incinerator last night when the girls were

loading it, was a bit too close to the incinerator and got too hot and burst into flames outside

of the incinerator.

Luckily the incinerator is kept far away from anything flammable and we don't burn when

there is a high wind or when we aren't home so we caught it pretty quick.

There's no harm in letting it burn while someone is here to watch it until the netwrap

is gone and and I can douse the ashes with a hose.

Never a dull moment, off to dump off the pumkins to the chickens and since we are over here

we will check the heifers.

We now have 3 calves on the ground from the heifers and none of the expectant moms look

like they are in labor yet today.

Calving starts slow and ramps up quickly and most of these girls are due any day now.

Checking them every few hours is the safest way to make sure all the calves are healthy

and moms are not having any trouble with labor or taking care of their calves.

Out with the cows is another surprise however, this morning a new little calf was born to

one of our cows, a couple of weeks ahead of schedule.

The calf is healthy but if you were around when we branded last year, we found we had

the neighbors bull in with the cows when we brought them all in to sort for branding.

This little one is more than likely from that brief encounter.

With the appearance of this little guy there is the chance that we will have more and checking

the cows as well as the heifers is now added to our rounds.

Back at the shop, we can continue with our cleaning project.

With calving heating up we are going to need to have a clean shop to bring any calves we

have trouble with into.

We will have our calf warmer in here as well as most of our medical supplies so cleaning

it up now just makes sense.

If we had a hired hand right now this would be a job for them, but unfortunately things

are a little tight around here with having to buy hay last year and a hired hand might

have to wait for a while.

We bring in an extra freezer for all the meat that is going to arrive tomorrow and get it

set up.

As I roll up this extension cord, I'm reminded of a story that I wanted to share with you.

A few weeks ago, we got an email from an older rancher asking why we do this, why do we make

videos and put them on youtube.

I think he said something along the lines of, it seems to me like you are teaching a

bunch of city slickers how to be ranchers, and they don't need to know that.

I answered him back, explaining about giving people a chance to live the ranch life and

learn where food comes from and the work that goes into it, plus we were city slickers not

that long ago ourselves.

But now as I roll up this extension cord, I'm reminded of something that happened

to me when I was a little kid that might explain it even further, the question why we do this.

My dad was a cowboy, he worked as a ranch hand on many different ranches after I was

born up to about my 6th birthday.

He suffered a stroke and was no longer able to do the work, but one of my first memories

was helping my dad at the ranch he worked at, I don't know where my dad was but the

ranch owner, a guy named Fred, saw me rolling up an extension cord, and I was making a mess

of it.

He told me I must not have any cowboy in me because I wasn't rolling the cord like you

would a rope, flipping it and turning it, keeping it straight.

I was having a heck of a time with the thing.

I looked up to my dad like nothing else, I was his little cowboy but I remember at that

moment, when he told me I didn't know how to do it like a cowboy that I figured I wouldn't

be a cowboy.

I might have wanted to be at that point, of course I might have wanted to be an astronaut

too.

Oddly enough I ended up here much later in life, my mom says I ended up having my dads

dream job, but I wonder if Fred hadn't told me that I wasn't a cowboy when I was 5 years

old, maybe I would I have followed in my dad's footsteps long before I ended up here.

Part of what we want to convey on our channel is the belief that you can do anything you

want and be whoever you want to be.

If you don't know how to roll up an extension cord like a rope, you can learn.

A few years ago, I never would have pictured myself here and honestly, Erin and I are learning

everyday.

Just like today, that netwrap if very flammable and has a low ignition point.

you as much as we can from the calving process and I'm sure there are some very exciting

days coming up.

New 2019 Toyota RAV4 teased ahead of New York Motor Show - Duration: 2:17.

The new Toyota RAV4 to arrive soon, with hybrid powertrains and design cues from the FT-AC

concept Toyota has confirmed that a new RAV4 SUV will

be revealed in full later this month at the 2018 New York Motor Show.

With the wraps to come off the fifth-generation 2019 RAV4 on 28 March, Toyota has whetted

the appetite for its arrival with a shadowy teaser image revealing the car's side profile.

We can see that the front end of the car will be much taller with a squarer front end, while

the rear window is much more steeply raked.

Though the teaser gives little away, it does tally nicely with previous spy shots of the

next RAV4, caught undergoing assessment in California.

Though masked off heavily, the overall shape of the vehicle spotted by our spy photographers

lines up with the teaser image, and beneath the masking we can spot design cues taken

from the FT-AC concept revealed at the Los Angeles Motor Show late last year.With the

current model coming up on five years on sale, the new RAV4 will boast not only a comprehensive

redesign but big changes under the skin.

It'll get all new underpinnings, making use of the Toyota New Global Architecture

(TNGA) platform underpinning the Prius, CH-R and the new Auris.

As such, two hybrid options could be on the table – the 1.8-litre 120bhp plug-in popular

on the Prius, and the new 2.0-litre 177bhp configuration arriving on the next Auris.

A regular petrol engine without hybrid assistance is likely to feature as well, being the same

1.2-litre turbo unit found in the new Auris

and the CH-R.

Hot 2018 Range Rover Velar SVR hits the Nurburgring - Duration: 2:56.

A flagship SVR performance version of the Range Rover Velar is on course for a 2018

debut, and we've spied it testing Land Rover is set to add to the recently launched

Velar lineup with a hot V8-powered SVR model this year, and new spyshots show the Porsche

Macan Turbo rival being pushed to the limits at the Nurburgring.

The iconic German racetrack regularly plays host to carmakers testing prototypes, and

JLR engineers have been caught out by our photographers.

The super-SUV is due to be revealed some time this year, with sales beginning before 2018

is out.

A licence plate check on a previous UK prototype confirms that the Velar SVR will accomodate

Jaguar-Land Rover's ubiquitous supercharged 5.0-litre V8.

It's the same unit used in a number of SVR cars across both brands, boasting 567bhp in

the recently refreshed Range Rover Sport SVR.

With this engine onboard, the Velar looks set for a significant boost in power over

the current range topping P380 model, which makes use of a 375bhp six-cylinder petrol.

Expect a 0-62mph time of well under five seconds as a result.

Both spied prototypes wear a light disguise to hide their sporty SVR bodykits, though

the images hint that the hot Velar will not appear drastically different from R-Dynamic

versions.

The front bumper has been tweaked with a pair of slightly different air intakes flanking

the wide central one, while around the back, the rear bumper has been lifted slightly to

accommodate a rear diffuser.

Enlarged alloy wheels hide some serious-looking brakes with red calipers.

Alongside V8 power and slightly sportier looks, the Velar SVR's suspension will be revised,

with adaptive dampers featuring an SVR-specific mode.

A beefed-up exhaust will provide a racy soundtrack, and inside figure-hugging sports seats will

lift the cabin.

With Jaguar poised to reveal an SVR version of the F-Pace at the New York Motor Show at

the end of March, the Velar SVR's arrival doesn't look likely to happen until towards

the end of 2018.

How To: Clean and Lube Your Bike Chain - Duration: 3:13.

Hello, and welcome back to yet another bicycle tutorial brought to you by a bearded man wearing flannel!

Keeping your bike chain clean and lubed is one of the best ways to extend the life of your drive train

and keep your bike shifting smoothly.

Even better, it's an easy task you can do from home in between your regular tune-ups.

On to degreasing.

Keep in mind, it's a dirty job, but somebody's gotta do it.

Leave your dress clothes in the closet.

Although there are a lot of products out there, you'll want to use a bike specific degreaser.

They are formulated for bike components and some general degreasers could weaken or damage your chain.

There are a number of degreasers you can choose from, including biodegradable options.

Today, we'll be using the new product from Bontrager.

A quick and easy way to degrease a chain is to use a designated chain cleaner tool.

These can be found at your local bike shop.

Simply fill the reservoir with degreaser,

wrap the tool around the chain according to the directions (this will place the chain through the brushes), and backpedal.

The brushes will get into all the nooks and crannies of the chain where dirt likes to hang out.

And, it will collect used degreaser, making the whole process easier and cleaner.

You can still clean your chain without a special tool.

You can instead use a stiff brush (even a toothbrush or nail brush will work).

Add some degreaser to the brush and hold it to the chain as you backpedal.

Make sure you hit both the bottom and top of the chain.

Brush only the section of the chain at the bottom of the drivetrain.

Brushing the top will only make a bigger mess, not to mention dropping used degreaser on your frame and newly cleaned chain.

Your chain may look clean now, but you'll still want to rub it down with soapy water and rinse it.

This will make sure all of the degreaser has been cleaned off so the fresh lube will fully stick to the chain.

When it comes to lubing your chain, you'll want to choose a lube that matches your conditions.

If the terrain you ride is wet and muddy, use a wet lube.

Wet lubes are more waterproof and last longer, but they will attract dust and dirt in drier conditions.

If you're riding in drier conditions, use a dry lube instead.

You'll need to replace a dry lube more often, but it will make your chain less of a dirt magnet.

Though we're showing you this process on a road bike, this rule of thumb holds true for any type of bike.

When lubing your chain, you really want to get the lube into the rollers.

Getting lube on the outside of the chain will only pick up dirt on your ride.

You'll have to degrease and lube again that much sooner.

Place a small drop of lube right on top of each roller, then wipe off any excess.

And with that, you're ready to ride!

Now, how often you should clean and lube your chain is debatable.

It mostly depends on how often you ride and what conditions you're riding in.

If you ride regularly, you should clean and lube your chain at least once a month.

You may need to do this more often if you're riding in dirty or wet conditions, or if you're riding off-road.

And of course, anytime you notice that your chain is noisy, show it some love!

The Ingenious Hymer Eriba Touring Triton 430 - Duration: 7:17.

Hello, it's Lucy with Campingcarjoa.

I here with Bluebird today.

The camper you see behind me is

the Hymer Eriba Touring 430.

It's a travel trailer with a pop top roof.

I'm going to give you a tour inside.

But let's take a peek at the outside first.

If you take a look up top on the Eriba Touring 430

You can just see the pop-top roof sticking out.

It's just high enough

to allow people to stand comfortably inside.

Let's open this service door just on this side.

You can see how much room there is to store things.

You can fit all your camping gear

and maybe even a small bike in there.

Now let's step inside the GT touring 430.

First open it and secure the door

By firmly pressing on the door.

There are some small storage shelves on the door.

Down here you have a trash bin.

But some people store there shoes here.

Let's step inside.

I'm inside now.

Because the pop-top roof is up

The ceiling is really high.

My head isn't even close to touching.

Now I'm at the dinette.

There is a very cozy table with to small benches.

If you read this

Converts into a bed.

So this area can also be used for sleeping.

The front of the camper is quite unique.

The design is angled like this.

You can see the shape where these windows are.

It has two separate windows in front.

Above you have storage that opens downward like this.

The ceiling is so high

I don't have to worry about bumping my head.

It's easy to move around.

There are some hooks to hang clothes.

Even though it may look small

They made great use of the space with lots of storage.

Like this spot could have been blocked off

But instead they made it another spot to put things.

This is the kitchenette.

And the kitchen also has

More storage that opens down.

And below you have the sink with a cover.

And it's a deep sink abou the depth of my hand.

This is a good idea putting a cutting board on the back.

Flip the cover around and use it as a cutting board.

Let's place this back.

Next to that is a stove with two burner sizes.

Below

A refrigerator.

And

of course

a drawer for your utensils.

And more still more storage.

With the cover over the sink

you can prep food here.

But if your need more room

just lift this extension to increase the surface area.

Now I'm at the bed.

Is plenty big enough to fit two adults.

Let's try it out.

Lie down like this.

I still have some headroom.

Up to about 180cm

or maybe a bit taller can fit comfortably.

All around you have lots more storage space.

The light in the camper

are touch operated to turn on and off.

In the corners well blended in

they inserted lights.

Let me show you have they work.

Hit the switch and the lower section turns off.

Hit another switch and turn off the upper section.

And leave the lower section on.

It's a really clever idea.

Open this door and you have a hanging closet.

And below that is your propane heater.

Let me just tie up my hair.

Down here there is a hidden storage area.

When you lift you can hear the clicking sound.

And this opens up the big storage space we saw before.

Now you can see just how roomy the space is.

The area is exactly the same size as the bed.

And just lift once more to lower it back into a bed.

Let's step inside the bathroom.

Wow.

Amazing.

Take a look.

By raising the roof top

It also raises the bathroom walls.

But if you close the door

You can still peak out.

But they did a good job to make this bathroom taller.

You can see the material that connects the walls.

And if you look above

There is a shower curtain attached.

It's attached to the roof.

It's very convenient to use.

There are these small shelves

to hold your shampoo, rinse and make up.

And take a look at this.

Normally, when the roof is down

You would have to look a the mirror like this.

It wouldn't be easy for most adults.

They anticipated this

so you can slide up the mirrow

And it secures with this snap.

So came up with this idea to raise the mirror

so you can use the mirror normally.

Neat right?

And below that

a sink

And some more shelves to keep toiletries.

Victorian Honey Applesauce Cake Recipe - Duration: 2:22.

Hi everybody I have a bonus cake recipe today and it's made with honey instead

of sugar. It's called a honey applesauce cake and it's straight from the

mid-century Victorian era. it's incredibly moist and delicious and it's

the most effective aromatherapy you could possibly imagine. So stay tuned. So

for this cake you're gonna need 1/3 cup of butter, 3/4 cups of honey, 1 cup of

warmed applesauce, one and a quarter cups of flour ,1/2 cup of roasted hazelnuts or

other kinds of nuts chopped, 1 cup raisins chopped, 1/4 teaspoon each of

cloves, ginger, and cinnamon, and one teaspoon of baking soda mixed with 1

tablespoon of hot water. Start by creaming the honey and butter together

and add the warm apple sauce. Blend together the flour and the spices and

then add the chopped hazelnuts and raisins. Mix all that together

and then add the baking soda with the water last.

Bake in a loaf pan that has been oiled and floured and bake it for 45 minutes

between 325 and 350. After 45 minutes take the cake out and sprinkle it with

some granulated sugar. Put it back in the oven and bake for an additional 15

minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean when you put it in the center of

the cake. Enjoy your cake warm from the oven or as I did the next day with

whipped cream. It was amazing! Again I thank you so much for watching,

Spring-ish Cleaning - The Project List - Duration: 8:07.

Hi I'm Mike, pseudo spring has hit the ranch, we are expecting some temperatures up into

the 50's and 60's over the next couple of days and that gives us a chance to do some

spring cleaning for the project list on our Wyoming life.

Behind me is the project list and ever filling board of things that need done around the

ranch, every Tuesday we tackle a few items off the list and bring you along.

If this is your first time here, subscribe and join us as we explore the ranch life and

escape the ordinary.

There's a lot going on around the ranch this time of year and not enough hours in

the day to get it all done.

Tomorrow we will be taking our first load of steers off the ranch to the processing

facility and bringing back the pork that we took over a couple of weeks ago.

In addition, calving is starting to ramp up, we now have had 3 heifers that have calved

and one surprise calf born out with the cows that we will talk about a little later.

Spring cleaning around here is a group effort and we got our start yesterday evening after

the kids got home from school.

A new chore that the kids have this year is picking up all the netwrap that comes off

of bales that we feed to the cows.

Grace who is 4 years old and Mackenzie who is 7, both get to it as I get to cleaning

up the shop with them.

They load it all into the tractor bucket and we take it over to the incinerator for burning.

Both Erin and I love it when the weather starts to turn a bit warmer and getting the kids

involved in what we do on a day to day basis is not only free labor for us, but a great

experience for them as well.

Running a ranch is very much a family affair, everyone gets involved and as the kids get

older we see them doing more and more.

Not all the netwrap is going to fit in the incinerator but we can get to burning what

we can and afterwards they do some sweeping.

This morning I can get right back to it, the weather is still getting warmer for us, today

we are expecting a high in the 50's and cleaning the shop is the first project after

getting everyone fed and watered.

The shop sometimes becomes cluttered with way to much trash, feed bags mostly that get

thrown to the side when filling the cake feeder or feeding the steers.

With the help of the tractor bucket again we can start hauling more paper trash out

to the incinerator and get it fired up again.

Also in the shop we have a bunch of last year's pumpkins to do something with before they

start to rot and off to the chickens they can go, loading them up into the bucket as

well.

Heres a development that was surprising, netwrap is a petroleum based product and apparently

the netwrap that we didn't get into the incinerator last night when the girls were

loading it, was a bit too close to the incinerator and got too hot and burst into flames outside

of the incinerator.

Luckily the incinerator is kept far away from anything flammable and we don't burn when

there is a high wind or when we aren't home so we caught it pretty quick.

There's no harm in letting it burn while someone is here to watch it until the netwrap

is gone and and I can douse the ashes with a hose.

Never a dull moment, off to dump off the pumkins to the chickens and since we are over here

we will check the heifers.

We now have 3 calves on the ground from the heifers and none of the expectant moms look

like they are in labor yet today.

Calving starts slow and ramps up quickly and most of these girls are due any day now.

Checking them every few hours is the safest way to make sure all the calves are healthy

and moms are not having any trouble with labor or taking care of their calves.

Out with the cows is another surprise however, this morning a new little calf was born to

one of our cows, a couple of weeks ahead of schedule.

The calf is healthy but if you were around when we branded last year, we found we had

the neighbors bull in with the cows when we brought them all in to sort for branding.

This little one is more than likely from that brief encounter.

With the appearance of this little guy there is the chance that we will have more and checking

the cows as well as the heifers is now added to our rounds.

Back at the shop, we can continue with our cleaning project.

With calving heating up we are going to need to have a clean shop to bring any calves we

have trouble with into.

We will have our calf warmer in here as well as most of our medical supplies so cleaning

it up now just makes sense.

If we had a hired hand right now this would be a job for them, but unfortunately things

are a little tight around here with having to buy hay last year and a hired hand might

have to wait for a while.

We bring in an extra freezer for all the meat that is going to arrive tomorrow and get it

set up.

As I roll up this extension cord, I'm reminded of a story that I wanted to share with you.

A few weeks ago, we got an email from an older rancher asking why we do this, why do we make

videos and put them on youtube.

I think he said something along the lines of, it seems to me like you are teaching a

bunch of city slickers how to be ranchers, and they don't need to know that.

I answered him back, explaining about giving people a chance to live the ranch life and

learn where food comes from and the work that goes into it, plus we were city slickers not

that long ago ourselves.

But now as I roll up this extension cord, I'm reminded of something that happened

to me when I was a little kid that might explain it even further, the question why we do this.

My dad was a cowboy, he worked as a ranch hand on many different ranches after I was

born up to about my 6th birthday.

He suffered a stroke and was no longer able to do the work, but one of my first memories

was helping my dad at the ranch he worked at, I don't know where my dad was but the

ranch owner, a guy named Fred, saw me rolling up an extension cord, and I was making a mess

of it.

He told me I must not have any cowboy in me because I wasn't rolling the cord like you

would a rope, flipping it and turning it, keeping it straight.

I was having a heck of a time with the thing.

I looked up to my dad like nothing else, I was his little cowboy but I remember at that

moment, when he told me I didn't know how to do it like a cowboy that I figured I wouldn't

be a cowboy.

I might have wanted to be at that point, of course I might have wanted to be an astronaut

too.

Oddly enough I ended up here much later in life, my mom says I ended up having my dads

dream job, but I wonder if Fred hadn't told me that I wasn't a cowboy when I was 5 years

old, maybe I would I have followed in my dad's footsteps long before I ended up here.

Part of what we want to convey on our channel is the belief that you can do anything you

want and be whoever you want to be.

If you don't know how to roll up an extension cord like a rope, you can learn.

A few years ago, I never would have pictured myself here and honestly, Erin and I are learning

everyday.

Just like today, that netwrap if very flammable and has a low ignition point.

days coming up.

New 2019 Toyota RAV4 teased ahead of New York Motor Show - Duration: 2:17.

The new Toyota RAV4 to arrive soon, with hybrid powertrains and design cues from the FT-AC

concept Toyota has confirmed that a new RAV4 SUV will

be revealed in full later this month at the 2018 New York Motor Show.

With the wraps to come off the fifth-generation 2019 RAV4 on 28 March, Toyota has whetted

the appetite for its arrival with a shadowy teaser image revealing the car's side profile.

We can see that the front end of the car will be much taller with a squarer front end, while

the rear window is much more steeply raked.

Though the teaser gives little away, it does tally nicely with previous spy shots of the

next RAV4, caught undergoing assessment in California.

Though masked off heavily, the overall shape of the vehicle spotted by our spy photographers

lines up with the teaser image, and beneath the masking we can spot design cues taken

from the FT-AC concept revealed at the Los Angeles Motor Show late last year.With the

current model coming up on five years on sale, the new RAV4 will boast not only a comprehensive

redesign but big changes under the skin.

It'll get all new underpinnings, making use of the Toyota New Global Architecture

(TNGA) platform underpinning the Prius, CH-R and the new Auris.

As such, two hybrid options could be on the table – the 1.8-litre 120bhp plug-in popular

on the Prius, and the new 2.0-litre 177bhp configuration arriving on the next Auris.

A regular petrol engine without hybrid assistance is likely to feature as well, being the same

1.2-litre turbo unit found in the new Auris

and the CH-R.

Hot 2018 Range Rover Velar SVR hits the Nurburgring - Duration: 2:56.

A flagship SVR performance version of the Range Rover Velar is on course for a 2018

debut, and we've spied it testing Land Rover is set to add to the recently launched

Velar lineup with a hot V8-powered SVR model this year, and new spyshots show the Porsche

Macan Turbo rival being pushed to the limits at the Nurburgring.

The iconic German racetrack regularly plays host to carmakers testing prototypes, and

JLR engineers have been caught out by our photographers.

The super-SUV is due to be revealed some time this year, with sales beginning before 2018

is out.

A licence plate check on a previous UK prototype confirms that the Velar SVR will accomodate

Jaguar-Land Rover's ubiquitous supercharged 5.0-litre V8.

It's the same unit used in a number of SVR cars across both brands, boasting 567bhp in

the recently refreshed Range Rover Sport SVR.

With this engine onboard, the Velar looks set for a significant boost in power over

the current range topping P380 model, which makes use of a 375bhp six-cylinder petrol.

Expect a 0-62mph time of well under five seconds as a result.

Both spied prototypes wear a light disguise to hide their sporty SVR bodykits, though

the images hint that the hot Velar will not appear drastically different from R-Dynamic

versions.

The front bumper has been tweaked with a pair of slightly different air intakes flanking

the wide central one, while around the back, the rear bumper has been lifted slightly to

accommodate a rear diffuser.

Enlarged alloy wheels hide some serious-looking brakes with red calipers.

Alongside V8 power and slightly sportier looks, the Velar SVR's suspension will be revised,

with adaptive dampers featuring an SVR-specific mode.

A beefed-up exhaust will provide a racy soundtrack, and inside figure-hugging sports seats will

lift the cabin.

With Jaguar poised to reveal an SVR version of the F-Pace at the New York Motor Show at

the end of March, the Velar SVR's arrival doesn't look likely to happen until towards

the end of 2018.

all right so today we're super excited, we get to talk about

chapter 2 of the Saints books that the church is releasing. If you don't know

we're talking about, there's a link in our bio that you can check out the book

and anyway, we're on chapter 2 now, it's called 'Hear Him.' I just want to say you

guys, I love this chapter. Like I have read the first vision countless times

but I really like how the book is written like a narrative so we really

can truly understand more like, I don't know, and visualize more what it

was like. So my favorite part of the chapter was right after Heavenly Father

and Jesus Christ just left and so Joseph Smith is there like in the Sacred Grove

like, oh my gosh, what just happened? And I just want to read a quote from it and it

says, "The pillar of light had departed and his guilt and confusion were gone.

Feelings of divine love filled his heart and I just really liked that because I'm

sure Joseph Smith could have been very overwhelmed with everything that just

happened. I mean literally Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ just appeared to

him and I could see it being super stressed with like okay, the true church

isn't on the earth, we're going to help you restore it, like it's up to you. I

don't know, I could just see how that could be a really stressful moment but

it said that he had feelings of divine love that filled his heart and Joseph

Smith, I mean, he had this huge task that he had to do but because he was able to

feel the spirit, he just felt peace and I really like how that's an opportunity

for each one of us on the earth that we can experience that. Yeah. So I really

love that part. What did you guys like? So this chapter is very significant and

amazing I think because it is one of the most important events in the history

of the world, the First Vision, right? It is something that my testimony was

built on, the restoration of the gospel. It is so important, it's everything to me,

right? So what Jesus says is so interesting, when Joseph

wants to know about which religion is true and Jesus says, "they teach for doctrines

the commandments of men having a form of godliness but they deny the power

thereof." This is what the Lord says about the other denominations at the time and

honestly I always like to imagine if the first mission happened today, would that

exact language be used, would it be a little different? Because I like to think

like if you you're on the frontier in 1820, you know, the churches of

day, half of them are engaged in slavery, they're just 200 years removed from

burning witches, you know, I think the language is a little harsh but I

think maybe warranted. I mean like I probably would have

said like, "Yeah, those people are crazy, you know? Of course not all Christians,

many Christians were wonderful but I just think like thinking of that time

period, these are important questions to ask if you're seeing a lot of immorality

and so much confusion with doctrine you would want to know, wait,

wait, wait, wait, are any of these true? Are any of these actual churches? And they

deny the power thereof, which is the priesthood, which is the, you know, the

miracles of God. They were denying it. I've always used this analogy,

forgive me for going into tangent here but our church is built from heaven down.

The heavens open and directed prophets, gave them priests authority by the

laying on of hands of angels to build this church. Our church is not built

Bible up. A lot of people read the Bible, they interpret it and go, "This means this,

this is this, I think this is right, hopefully this is recognized as right by

heaven." So their church is built Bible up, our church is built heaven down, which is

amazing to have that comfort. The priesthood is what the Church of God

must have. We have that priesthood. And I think that's interesting that you

mentioned, well, I think it's cool that he says "a form of godliness" because I think

that implies that people were trying, they were trying to find that heaven

directed religion and I think that people that do read the Bible and try

and build a religion off of that, they have, I'm sure 99% of the time,

really good intentions and they're trying the best with what

they've got but it just wasn't cutting the mustard at the time. I've never heard that before.

Anyways, my favorite part, I liked how in this chapter they start to address tough

tough issues within Mormonism which i think is probably the purpose,

one of the purposes of this whole book is that they address that Joseph Smith

has several different retellings, accounts of his experience with the

first vision and a lot of people have problems with that because they line up

all four accounts and they say, "Well this one is different from this one and

that means that he must have been lying in this time when he said it and, but

but that doesn't make any sense at all. And I like how the story lays it out and

it says in these circumstances, Joseph was talking to these people and

so he told his story, including these details, that are relevant to this

audience. I even do that when I'm telling a spiritual story. Yeah! Like a spiritual story of

my life. Whoever I'm talking to, I cater it to that person. If everything,

if everything had to be completely in line then even the

four Gospels would be discredited because they also, like, of course they're

gonna be little different variations. Also, okay, imagine you're fourteen and

Satan attacks you and then Jesus cast Satan out and you see Him and God

who you thought were one person but you see that they're two and they're going, "We're

gonna restore the church to you" and there's like angels and stuff.

Do you really think, when you write it down without a proper

education after that happens, something as crazy and trippy as that, do you think

you're gonna get every detail right? No, you're gonna remember things. That's

how it even is as a person. When I remember an event, I go and later on go, "oh,

that event also happened. Oh that also happened." Like that's how-- come on--

I don't remember from when I was 14 and I'm

only 20. I know, I only remember accidentally walking to the girls

bathroom in school. You told me about that actually.

Once upon time, I saw on campus at school this kid

flying down the sidewalk with the little Heely thing. I'm gonna cover up this brand

on my shoes so you don't know which brand it is. Oh, I wonder what it is. Oh, is it a Reebok?

He had these wheels strapped to his shoe and he was flying. Later after that experience I

tried to describe that to my friends and I probably described it in 15 different

ways because I had no words to describe what I was seeing. The shoe wheelie

thingies, the Heely's but they weren't Heely's because those come out

of the bottom of the shoe and these were strapped inside. It makes sense that

Joseph Smith used different words in different settings and it's just a

-- and emphasized different things-- right. Depending on who you're talking to.

Right. So I'm glad that this book brings it up and

presents it as basically a non-issue because that's basically what it is.

Every preacher does that. I really like how the church is coming out and saying

like this is what happened, go back and read chapter 1 of you haven't read

chapter 2, it's short. It was like a 5-10 minute read. Yeah.

Chapter 1 is "Ask of God," chapter 2 is "Hear Him" and then read chapter 3 when it

15 – Silent Hill Fog • Silent Hill is characterized by its thick

fog, which sets the tone and makes it difficult to see enemies until they're very close

by.

It's a key part of the story.

• But on the developer side, the fog also serves an important purpose – it hides the

fact that the draw distance is extremely limited, and the game can't load in backgrounds and

new areas fast enough.

• Behind that fog wall is the game building itself and rendering the environment.

14 – The Legend of Zelda origins • The Legend of Zelda was originally intended

to be a sci-fi series.

• Each section of the Triforce was intended to be a sort of electronic chip, and Link

was intended to travel back and forth through time.

That's why they called him Link – he was the "link" between past and future.

• Also, the "second quest" for the original Legend of Zelda was the result of a mistake.

Designer Takashi Tezuka accidentally took up only half the game's memory with the

game code, so Shigeru Miyamoto filled the second half with a brand new quest.

13 – Space Invaders Speed • Much of the development of Space Invaders

involved creating the custom hardware it needed to run on.

• No system was strong enough to handle the game as it was designed, so the system

had to be built completely from scratch.

And even that wasn't enough.

• The result was that the enemy spaceships couldn't move as fast as intended… and

as a result, they would speed up as the player eliminated them.

• Despite this being a hardware limitation, they decided to keep this as a core gameplay

feature.

12 – Gradius and the Konami Code • When Gradius was going through development,

it was actually too hard for much of the development team to test it properly.

• To help them through it, they gave themselves a little backdoor.

They could get a full set of powerups by pressing up-up, down-down, left-right-left-right, B,

A, Start.

• It worked great… except whoops!

They MIGHT have forgotten to remove that little trick before the game was published.

Hopefully nobody noticed?

11 – Kirby's Design • Masahiro Sakurai, the creator and designer

of Kirby, basically designed him by mistake.

• Kirby's original design was just a simple circle – he wasn't a character, but just

a placeholder graphic for a character that hadn't been designed yet.

• As development went on, Sakurai decided he actually liked his little circle placeholder,

and gave him a few little details to make him into Kirby.

10 – Metal Gear Stealth • Metal Gear was a pioneer of the stealth

genre, but it wasn't on purpose.

• Originally, Metal Gear was intended to be an arcade-style "combat action" game

in the style of Ikari Warriors or Commando, for the Japan-only MX2 home console.

• Problem is, the original build of the game could only handle a small number of enemies

– or bullets – on screen before the whole thing crashed.

• So, Hideo Kojima designed Metal Gear around that limitation – making the game about

avoiding enemies and combat.

And the rest is history.

work.

• Atari coined the term "Easter Egg" for the discovery, and said it was just a

hidden reward.

But that was basically just damage control.

6 – Donkey Kong as a Pet • Because of the whole King Kong thing,

it's easy to look at Donkey Kong and see the titular character as the bad guy.

• He appears to have kidnapped some poor girl, and the player has to climb up to save

her.

• But the story of the game, originally, is that Donkey Kong is Mario's – or "Jumpman's"

– pet, and he is misbehaving because Jumpman isn't taking good enough care of him.

• That sort of explains the whole basis of Donkey Kong Jr.

5 – Monkey Island and Pirates of the Caribbean • In the year 2000, a project for a movie

based on the Monkey Island games was quietly cancelled.

• The legendary Lucasarts adventure game had a screenplay already in the works, being

written by Ted Elliot.

Noted Monkey Island fan Steven Spielberg was even going to direct.

• But the project was cancelled, and a few years later, Ted Elliot was tapped to write

a new movie: Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl.

• So what do the movies and games have in common?

Well, just a bumbling protagonist full of one-liners, a politically important love interest,

and a ghost pirate antagonist with skeleton crew members.

• Coincidence?

4 – Majora's Mask and asset re-use • It's not exactly coincidental that the

two Zelda games on the Nintendo 64 – Majora's Mask and Ocarina of Time – look pretty much

identical.

• Majora's Mask re-uses most of the assets from Ocarina of Time, making it the only Zelda

game to lift most of its art from a previous game.

• The reason for that was that Ocarina of Time was supposed to have a follow-up expansion

code-named "Ura Zelda".

• But Eiji Aonuma and the rest of the development team protested the development of a simple

expansion.

In exchange for not making Ura Zelda, they were challenged to make a full-blown sequel

within one year.

• The result was Majora's Mask… made in a short time by cutting corners and using

the same engine and assets in a completely remixed way.

3 – Crazy Otto and Ms. Pac-Man • Crazy Otto is one of the most successful

early examples of a game mod.

• A couple of programmers cracked open a game of Pac-Man, made some modifications to

the code and the hardware, and made their own game, Crazy Otto… which was still pretty

much just a modded version of Pac-Man, except that Pac-Man had legs.

• Midway found out about Crazy Otto, but realized the game was actually really good.

So they paid the programmers for the rights to the game, gave Pac-Man a bow, and called

the new game "Ms. Pac-Man."

2 – Pong the copycat • Pong is popularly known as the "first"

video game, but it's not even close.

In fact, Atari founder Nolan Bushnell didn't even come up with the idea himself.

• He released his prototype of Pong shortly after attending a Magnavox presentation of

"table tennis," one of the flagship games on the Magnavox Odyssey.

• Magnavox sued Atari over the infringement and WON.

So Atari ended up having to pay Magnavox a licensing fee for Pong.

fictional characters in the world today.

• And all of those things were added just to make Mario's original character model

work with the game.

• The cap was added to reduce the number of pixels needed for his hair, and to prevent

add a mouth.

Feburary Peterborough and the region for values the month came in 12% increase over February

of last year so things are on board, SAME STORY high prices, over bidding, not enough listings

etc. where as the Toronto Real Estate Board, this past February is down 34.5% in average

value.

TONS of listings, way too many listings, non of them are selling so they

are down 34.5%.Toronto is down 34.5%Peterborough is up 12%.

That is a huge difference in the activity of the market I want people to remember that

when you listen to the news, CBC,Globe and Mail whatever it might be the Peterborough

Market is NOT the same as the General Canadian Market or the Toronto market so things are

very active, still very hot and that is worth knowing Real estate is a serious business

Hot 2018 Range Rover Velar SVR hits the Nurburgring - Duration: 2:56.

A flagship SVR performance version of the Range Rover Velar is on course for a 2018

debut, and we've spied it testing Land Rover is set to add to the recently launched

Velar lineup with a hot V8-powered SVR model this year, and new spyshots show the Porsche

Macan Turbo rival being pushed to the limits at the Nurburgring.

The iconic German racetrack regularly plays host to carmakers testing prototypes, and

JLR engineers have been caught out by our photographers.

The super-SUV is due to be revealed some time this year, with sales beginning before 2018

is out.

A licence plate check on a previous UK prototype confirms that the Velar SVR will accomodate

Jaguar-Land Rover's ubiquitous supercharged 5.0-litre V8.

It's the same unit used in a number of SVR cars across both brands, boasting 567bhp in

the recently refreshed Range Rover Sport SVR.

With this engine onboard, the Velar looks set for a significant boost in power over

the current range topping P380 model, which makes use of a 375bhp six-cylinder petrol.

Expect a 0-62mph time of well under five seconds as a result.

Both spied prototypes wear a light disguise to hide their sporty SVR bodykits, though

the images hint that the hot Velar will not appear drastically different from R-Dynamic

versions.

The front bumper has been tweaked with a pair of slightly different air intakes flanking

the wide central one, while around the back, the rear bumper has been lifted slightly to

accommodate a rear diffuser.

Enlarged alloy wheels hide some serious-looking brakes with red calipers.

Alongside V8 power and slightly sportier looks, the Velar SVR's suspension will be revised,

with adaptive dampers featuring an SVR-specific mode.

A beefed-up exhaust will provide a racy soundtrack, and inside figure-hugging sports seats will

lift the cabin.

With Jaguar poised to reveal an SVR version of the F-Pace at the New York Motor Show at

the end of March, the Velar SVR's arrival doesn't look likely to happen until towards

the end of 2018.
